~Wet for the Doctor~
gynecologist!lizard man x fem!human - medical kink, dub-con (is it?), gyno exam, vaginal fingering, finger fucking, multiple orgasms, soft dom/sub power dynamic, monster with human kink
You've been missing your doctor so much that you come up with a dumb excuse just so you can see him again.
3,7k.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The chill, comfortable aura of the clinic wasn't really helping soothe your nerves; your thighs were twitching and your hands sweating even more than usual. You pressed your palms on the fabric of your dress, attempting to stop your legs from shaking and wipe your skin.
You weren't scared. On the contrary, you were excited. Your jitters weren't caused by apprehension but rather by... anticipation.
Yes, anticipation. You had been waiting for this day. You had called in, asking for an appointment way before your routine check-up because you had been missing him terribly.
It was a wicked attraction. Deplorable even. You couldn’t help it, though. Just thinking of him made your whole body tingle in elation. You couldn’t control it. You couldn’t fight against it, no matter how much your mind implored you to.
“-see you in three months. If the issue resurfaces in the meantime, call me immediately so we can reschedule our appointment.”
You could hear a muffled but very familiar voice coming from behind the door. You squeezed your thighs, squirming on your seat, seeking out relief from the ache between your legs. You had been on the edge since you woke up in the morning, tensed up and wet even before you left your house to head to the clinic after lunch. The moment you’d see him again was getting closer and your body was growing restless. It was as if it ached for him, longed for his touch. Only he could give it solace.
The sound of steps grew closer. Your eyes were already locked on the door as it swung open, seeking to lay upon the source of all your sinful thoughts. A tall and lean elf woman stepped outside, lingering by the doorway, blocking your view of the room. Your jaw clenched upon seeing the saccharine smile plastered on her chiseled face.
“Thank you dr. Duskcale. I wish you good work. May Lady Arassea watch over you.”
“Ah- Thank you. Take care.”
You were burning holes into her skull, mentally ordering her to leave and you didn’t avert your gaze from her until you saw her walk away and disappear behind the corner. It was ridiculous to feel jealous over someone you had no right to lay any claim to, someone who had to deal and take care of plenty of people’s needs on a daily basis, as his job requested. Many people like you. Yet, it made your stomach churn to think that anybody else beside you could harbor similar sympathies for your doctor. In your mind you were… special. You were different. His behavior towards you implied so, you were sure.
“Y/N.”
His voice startled you. Your head instantly snapped towards the door and there you saw him, standing in all his imposing height, the white coat hanging open from his broad shoulders, its pristine color a stark contrast to the teal blue shade of his skin. His long scaly tail was resting heavy on the floor beside him, with just the tip raised from the ground, swaying gently in your direction. Your chest fluttered the moment your eyes met his and you noticed the small smile grazing his reptilian features. Frustration left your body at once, jealousy leaving room for gratification as he gave you yet another confirmation to your thoughts; you were the only one he would welcome in himself instead of sending his assistant. That had to mean something.
“You may come in.”
You nodded and followed him into his office. Your hair stood on end, feeling his almond bright eyes trained on your back. When you turned your head to look at him, his gaze was indeed traveling over your body, pupils dilating and contracting in that odd way that you had grown very fond of. You had heard reptilians had a superior vision than humans and most other creatures, some could even see infrared rays… You prayed the latter wasn’t the case for your doctor, otherwise he would be able to see how hot your blood boiled under his gaze. How incredibly warm he always made you feel.
“Such a beautiful dress you’re wearing today. It suits you perfectly.”
A bashful smile took form on your lips just like every time he complimented you and your appearance. No matter how many times he did it before - at least once during each appointment - he’d always take you by surprise. Perhaps it was his way as a doctor to create a more friendly and easy going environment for the patient, or perhaps it was something he did only with you. You preferred to think it was the latter.
“Thank you… doctor.”
He had encouraged you to call him by his first name after only a few visits, but you preferred to use his title since you enjoyed watching him adjust his coat on his large body and give you a long look every time that word left your lips.
“Please, remove your underwear and lie on the table.”
And perhaps he enjoyed how he was always able to affect you with that routine request. His keen vibrant eyes remained on you until you nodded and moved behind the room divider to undress.
You hurriedly removed your shoes and folded your soaking undies on the chair before returning to the center of the room. You tried not to pay too much attention to the cool air of the office meeting the dampness between your thighs. Your motions were rapid, almost hurried, yet sure as you hopped onto the table and laid on your back, shifting your body to find the most comfortable position. He approached you just as you were about to settle your feet on the footrests, his large rough palms gently wrapping around your calves to assist you. Your body buzzed with a wicked thrill as you watched him delicately roll the dress over your tummy to get it out of the way.
“There you go.” he whispered with that warm gentle voice of his, and you almost went into ruptures. Even with only a few simple words he could have you melting into a puddle at his feet. You were truly and utterly infatuated.
At that point it was impossible not to focus on the humid air touching your damp folds, spread out as you were in front of him, nor at any slight brush of his coat against your skin. He could even as much as exhale in your direction and your body would shiver in response.
You locked eyes with him as he rested his hand on your thigh and squeezed it softly, almost affectionately one would say - it certainly felt like that to you. Your walls instantly fluttered at the contact.
“So… What’s the matter? Something must have come up for you to take a new appointment before our routine checkup in three months.” There was a hint of concern in his tone as he said that, as well as in his gaze as he let it sweep your exposed pussy. He took a seat between your legs and his pupils started to do that weird thing again while he carried out the general pelvic examination. “I don’t see any changes from last time…”
As soon as his fingers made contact with your folds, your legs jolted and he halted his ministrations to look at you. Even from a seated position he towered over you so you could easily watch as his face scrunched up in a soft frown.
“Do you feel any pain?”
“Y-Yes… Well, no… Not exactly-”
His puzzled expression told you it was time to provide him with an explanation. It was time to reveal the ridiculous lie you had made up simply to have an excuse for seeing him again. When you went over it at home in the days leading up to the appointment, you didn't feel as silly and embarrassed as you did now that you stood - well, laid - in front of him. Despite how dumb you felt however, you couldn't avoid it.
"I recently started to see someone…a-a werewolf." you blurted out and instantly felt your stomach clench as you watched his eyes narrow. Did he… not like that? You had only seen him look that pensive, maybe even irritated, when he had to postpone one of your previous visits because his agenda was too full. He didn’t say anything about it though, so you cleared your throat and resumed with your lie. “He is very… uhm… endowed. Perhaps too much for me… So I'm afraid we can't… uhm-”
He hummed thoughtfully. His eyes were scanning your face now, peering at you as if he could see right through your blatant lie. Were you so easy to read? Or did he actually have some crazy eyesight abilities?
“Did you have intercourse with this… werewolf?”
You should have expected such a question, yet it caught you off guard, almost making you jump. One of his hands promptly moved to your upper thigh to knead your flesh as if wishing to ease your tension.
“I need to know in order to proceed.” he pointed out, his tone gentle and nurturing. “I’ve had many a patient who had very unfortunate encounters with such creatures. Werewolves tend to lose all lucidity when sexually aroused, especially when in heat. I should hope this wasn’t your case-”
“Oh, no no-! I-It wasn’t like that… Nothing really bad happened..”
“Well, that’s good to hear. But I still need you to answer.”
You nodded and bit your lip as you held his intense gaze.
"I did." you replied, watching his face harden. "B-But it didn't feel good so we stopped almost immediately!" You rushed to add, hoping that instead would please him.
You were mentally face-palming yourself at what you were saying. You hadn't really thought this through, you realized; you hadn't considered how nervous you'd be in his presence. Making up a lie was easy, saying it to his face was a completely different matter.
He was not pleased with that information, at all. He exhaled heavily, as if disappointed by what he had heard, and his gaze landed on your genitals once more. He stroked his fingers across the flesh of your inner thigh a few times before raising his thumb and slowly trailing it over your labia in a circular motion and then along your slit. His palm still resting on your thigh eased your instant tremors.
"He must not have had much experience if he couldn't manage to please you. He may not have prepped you adequately or at all... Inconsiderate, selfish beast."
The gruff note in his tone was something you'd never heard before, but it rivaled his typically sweet and gentle voice in the way it made your stomach twist and your body heat up. It's possible you made a mistake by bringing up a werewolf since he seemed to have a quarrel with those creatures, or perhaps that could ultimately work to your benefit...
"It's not your fault," he said, eager to comfort you, sounding like himself again. That honeyed voice of his and the following flick of his thumb on your clitoris had your butterflies fluttering. "You are healthy. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you.”
Your breath hitched as you felt the enlarged tip of his finger probe at your wet entrance, teasing contact that sent you quivering in anticipation. You gulped in a poor attempt to pace yourself.
“However, I do need to carry out a vaginal examination just to make sure he didn’t cause any damage.”
He looked back at you, eyes silently asking for your approval. Only when you meekly nodded did he move his free hand to rest upon your lower abdomen and turned the other palm-up as he slowly placed one finger inside your hole. It slid in quite easily - given how slick you were at that point - despite being at least two sizes bigger than a human finger.
You shuddered and turned your head to the side, making an effort to focus on anything besides him so as to release your muscles and delay the inevitable, which you sensed was already on its way.
Your wandering gaze landed on the tools on the nearby table: a speculum and other strange-looking metallic objects he had never used on you before. There were also lube and gloves. He had never used those either. You were always ready for his examinations, and lubrication would be wasted on you. And the gloves… You had seen him take them off when the patients before you would head out but he never, not once, put on a new pair for you.
He had given you an explanation at one point, as if picking up on your curiosity, stating that the large tips of his fingers were particularly sensitive to touch and could better detect irregularities when there was no layer between them and the surface being examined. His words made reasonable sense, although they didn't exactly explain why he wouldn't wear gloves for you, specifically. From that point on, you had more than once entertained the possibility that he actually enjoyed touching you with his bare hands…
You did now as well, that wicked thought redirecting your attention back to the finger exploring your channel and the friction caused by its scaly, bumpy texture rubbing against your sensitive walls. That rendered all of your efforts futile. You stiffened even more, unable to focus on anything other than the way it curled into your g-spot, hitting it insistently and expertly, until an orgasm crashed into you just a couple of seconds later.
You tried as hard as you could to mask it, sealing your jaw, stilling your tremors, gripping the edges of the table with your hands as hard as you could, but he could definitely feel you fluttering and gushing juices around him. You didn't look up, too embarrassed to meet his gaze, but you felt his palm fondly rub your tummy, which combined with the overstimulation, made it even more difficult for you to remain silent. You had to gnaw on the inside of your cheeks to muffle your moans, nearly to the point of bruising yourself.
If he sensed your orgasm, he said nothing about it as he kept on rubbing your throbbing walls. With your hole even more slick than before, he added another finger to the examination and pushed them both all the way to your cervix, curling them to reach that tender spot with his large fingertips. Your lips parted in a muted cry and your hand promptly rushed to cover your mouth.
“Do you feel any pain?”
He knew you felt no pain, he knew for certain but he still played the part, maybe because it aroused him just as much as it aroused you.
You hastily shook your head in response, your gaze returning to him to chance a look. You regretted it immediately. He was already staring at you, probably relishing your blushing and contorting face or perhaps even your stiffened nipples showing beneath the fabric of your dress. He seemed to have been waiting for you to look at him because the instant he had your attention, he stood up, opening your legs even wider, and pushed a third finger into you, forcing you to bite your lips to conceal a lewd whimper.
“He hurt you, didn’t he?”
You were too overwhelmed by the warmth and shivers rushing through you and forcing slick to gush from your hole to understand what he was referring to and so you simply nodded your head.
His face hardened again but the motion of his fingers didn’t falter. It remained slow, careful yet precise and deliberate. A touch that only someone like him could offer. A touch that would make anyone lose their right minds. It certainly made you lose yours.
You were totally unprepared when he inserted a fourth thick finger inside you, and you could not hold back a cry this time, nor stop your back from arching away from the table or your sock-clad feet to curl and fight against the footrests. The huge palm on your belly pressed gently but firmly into your soft flesh, pushing you back down onto the surface.
"It's okay… It's okay.” he crooned. “You’re a bit tight. Please, try to release your muscles… It will be easier.”
Release your muscles? You had barely any control over your body at that stage but you mindlessly obeyed, only to tense up all over again when you felt another finger probe at your entrance, meeting resistance. This time, he rushed to your aid by pressing his other thumb against your clitoris. The additional stimulation of its pad tapping and rubbing tight circles over your pulsing bundle of nerves did the trick and his fifth finger promptly slid in, filling you up so perfectly as if it had a place within you designed specifically for it.
“Mmm… Good. Very good."
The stretch was so insane, it took your breath away. You had his whole hand inside you. A hand that could easily exceed the huge girth of any werewolf’s cock, was moving in and out of you, fucking you leisurely, its fingers curling when deep inside your walls and hitting your cervix every damn time. You would have been trashing if he didn’t hold you still with his other palm resting on your hips, a palm that covered the whole expanse of your stomach. Even only the sight of it could make your insides melt in wicked pleasure and the thought that its exact twin was now buried inside you had your brain turn to mush.
“Is everything ok, sweetheart?”
You gasped, your eyes widened in shock and locked on him. He had never called you like that before. The sound of his lovely, warm voice addressing you in such an affectionate manner caused you to short-circuit. You watched, dumb and panting heavily, as his free hand stroked your belly and traveled possessively up your stomach, even past the rolled hem of your dress, nearly touching the swell of your breasts before trailing back down to settle on your lower abdomen in an intimate and protecting grip. His thumb came to contact with your swollen bud again, and you barely had time to register the knot snapping in your belly before your body began to spasm violently and your vision went white. Waves and waves of pleasure overwhelmed you, triggering every nerve in your system to send electric shocks to course through your body.
His fingers continued to move inside you, slower than before, guiding you through the aftershock, while his other hand tenderly caressed your tummy, providing a comforting touch that helped you ground yourself.
"That was such a... good response." He said and you thought you heard his voice crack through the haze clouding your mind.
His cool palm settled on your cheek, fingers wiping the drool of saliva rolling off your lip. You struggled to focus your vision back on him, your heavy-lidded eyes fluttered open and closed a couple times before you managed to fix your gaze back on his face.
"Did he stretch you out like I've just done? Did anyone ever do it?"
You lazily shook your head, chest heaving hard, gaze still hazy. A low threatening rumble reached your muffled ears but it was gone before you could pinpoint what it was.
"That's very unfortunate. I'm sorry you had to encounter such miserable individuals."
His fingers finally slid out of you with a lewd squelching sound that made your walls flutter and your face redden. His eyes were trained on your slick cunt, fingertips gently dragging along the slit, smearing your juices from your hole to your clitoris and back, causing you to jerk at each touch.
"Some beasts shouldn't be allowed to be intimate with anybody." he grumbled, eyes attentively following the movement of his fingers against you. "Especially not with creatures so fragile...so precious…”
It looked like he was talking to himself rather than to you. His tone was so soft you could barely hear it but packed with emotion. His head bent down towards you as if attracted like a magnet, and his jaw parted to reveal his forked tongue. The tip flicked through the air with clear purpose...
Was he tasting your scent?
“You deserve so much better…”
His shocking words made your still tender body shudder and a gasp erupt from your lips. The sound seemed to break him out of whatever trance he'd fallen in. His eyes met yours, and the slit in his pupil narrowed so much to turn into a thin line. He drew back abruptly, as if he had caught himself upon doing something inappropriate. Turning to the adjacent steel table, he grabbed the paper towels and cleaned you with newfound self-control.
“I… need to see you again. Soon. As soon as possible.” He announced as he walked to his desk, discarding the dirty towels on the way. He sat and buried his smooth snout in his agenda, scanning over the pages with ever-growing irritation.
You still didn't feel completely like yourself as you eased down from the table and anchored your unsteady legs on the floor. Silently, you moved behind the divider with quick mindless steps and pulled your panties back on as well as your shoes.
When you came back out, he was standing in front of the desk, facing you and looking rather disappointed.
“We’ll have to see each other next week. Same day, same hour. I postponed some appointments but this is the best I could do.”
You simply nodded, unsure of what to say. You didn’t really trust your voice yet, anyway.
"I must ask you to abstain from attempting penetration again with that werewolf... or anybody else, if possible. Until I finish with your treatment."
You hadn’t the faintest idea what kind of treatment he was referring to but you didn’t dare ask. Whatever excuse he had for having you come over again worked for you. At least you didn't have to make up another stupid lie yourself.
His bright eyes seemed to pierce you, as though expecting your agreement, and you rushed to answer.
"I w-won't see anyone."
"...Good."
You both fell quite for a moment. Your gazes were locked but your mouths were sealed shut. Neither of you risked giving voice to your thoughts, nor acknowledge the obvious tension buzzing between you two.
He broke the silence first by clearing his throat.
“I hope you have a good week, Y/N. It's been… a pleasure to see you again.”
You took a long breath, hoping to ease your thundering heartbeat. Oh, you were hooked. Totally smitten with him… and whatever had happened only a couple minutes earlier made you believe that he had a soft spot for you, too.
“It's been a pleasure for me too… Adryan.”

WRIOTHESLEY LAUGHS as you drag him through the Fortress of Meropide, drawing the attention of those around you. Though typically, you’d feel uncomfortable, embarrassed, or perhaps self-conscious under the scrutinizing gaze of others, this time, it’s different. Your attention is focused solely on Wriothesley as he holds his free hand up to his bloodied nose. Knowing Wriothesley and his job here, it’s easy to imagine it resulting from a scuffle with a particularly stubborn criminal or something along those lines. However, the truth cannot be farther from that. In actuality, you’re the one responsible for this bloody nose. . . Allow me to expand on the situation a little.
Around a week or so ago, he unexpectedly marched into your office and insisted you learn how to fight. His motives for the sudden declaration were not out of a lack of appreciation for your work at the Fortress but rather a desire for your protection while he’s away. On another note, he believes you’re too “reserved and gentle” with others—“too much like a frightened kitten rather than a fearsome lion,” as he blatantly put it. It was a comparison you found somewhat degrading, yet you couldn’t deny it did speak the truth of your nature. In the end, you decided to comply with his wishes, and from there on out, he started to teach you self-defense and train you.
Cut to the present: Wriothesley pulled you aside for your daily training session. Everything was going swimmingly at first, with you defending yourself from his attacks as usual. Then, amid it all, you accidentally hit him square in the nose and rather hard at that. The punch was neither intentional nor malicious, but it still managed to send him stumbling back and clutching his nose in pain. A tsunami of guilt and worry flooded your system as you frantically apologized to him, but he simply brushed it off and smiled. The look in his eyes was one of mild shock but also of something more. . . fond. He seemed amused rather than angry or annoyed, appearing to be impressed and even a little smitten.
Sigewinne enters the infirmary with the medical supplies you requested, stopping just inside the door to ask you a question. She furrows her brow in concern, noticing the panic in your expression. “Are you sure you don’t want me to take care of him, Mx. (Y/N)? You’re a bit pale. . . Maybe you should sit and rest for a little while,” she offers kindly.
Wriothesley observes you with a lovesick expression as you prepare a cotton swab, your tongue poking out between your lips from concentration. His heart singes when you take his hand that’s pressed to his nose and lay it gently on his lap; your skin is warm and soft compared to his, scarred and calloused, from his duties here at the Fortress.
When you assure her with that enchanting smile of yours—the same one that drives him wild—it feels like his entire body has been set on fire, and he’s certain you can feel that fire when you press your palm to his cheek to keep him still. “D—Don’t worry, Sigewinne. I’ll be alright. Thank you, though.” You answer calmly, despite your hold on him being slightly shaky.
With a brief nod of her head, Sigewinne slips out of the room, leaving you and Wriothesley alone. As you press the cotton swab to his nose, he lets out a sharp hissing sound as the disinfectant works its magic. “Ouch! Shit, maybe I didn’t give you enough credit. That was a hell of a punch. . .” he chortles, trying to lighten up your mood a little. But his amusement falters when you pout, your face a heartbreakingly adorable sight.
“I—I really am sorry, Your Grace! I didn’t expect to hit you so hard. . . In—In fact, I thought you’d move out of the way before I even got the chance too,” you lament and carefully tilt his chin up, making sure you cleaned all the blood off. “How badly does it hurt? Do—Do you want me to go get some painkillers or ice? Please, just—”
“Breathe, (Y/N).” Wriothesley’s tone is soothing as he speaks, seeming intent on consoling you. “I’m perfectly fine, sweetheart. I’ve dealt with far worse scuffs than this. So, please, don’t think for a second I’m mad at you or anything of that nature. I’m more proud than anything, really.” He adds, melting under the warmth and care of your gaze. He finds himself feeling a little selfish in this moment, wishing you’d always spend so much time doting on him. You’re always so engrossed in your work, and as much as he admires that side of you, he’s also become increasingly smitten with you without you even batting an eye. Your self-absorbed disposition has made you oblivious to his adoring eyes, and he can’t help but feel a mix of heartbreak and longing as he considers how blind you are to his affections. “Hm. . . Now that we’re alone, there is something I’ve been wanting to tell you for a while,” he admits, humming contentedly as your hand presses to his face once more, oblivious to the surge of adrenaline that shoots through his veins with every touch. Your affectionate actions result from your nurturing demeanor, but he begs silently for them to mean something more.
Your puzzled expression, bearing a resemblance to a confused puppy, only further softens the gentle smile on Wriothesley’s face. “Is that so? Is—is there a reason you’re only bringing it up now?” You inquire anxiously, teeth sinking into your lower lip. You hope that your unexpected punch wasn’t the last straw for him firing you or something like that. The worry in your voice and tension in your body language betray your deep concern, and Wriothesley finds himself smitten by your innocence and tenderness.
The duke pauses momentarily, seeming to mull something over in his mind. “It’s been harder to get you alone these days, with you always engrossed in your paperwork or helping Sigewinne. I can’t bring myself to tear you away when you’re always so faithful.” He acknowledges. His eyes linger over your lips for just a moment too long, his imagination taking over as he considers the softness of them and how they taste. His heart pounds against his ribcage as he holds back the urge to kiss those teeth away and murmur how he’s the only one allowed to ruin your lips.
You mutter the words, “My apologies, your Grace,” as you press the bandage to the bridge of his nose. Taking a step back, you freeze under the intensity of his gaze. “Well, you have my full, unrivaled attention as of r-right now...?” You try to sound confident, but your sheepish expression gives you away.
Wriothesley hums in response, amused and enticed by the sudden color that washes over your face. Clearing his throat, he slips one hand around your waist and pulls you flush against his warm frame. His eyes flutter shut for a brief moment as he allows the intensity of the moment to sink in. “Oh? Do I now? Good,” he purrs, his voice deep and velvety as it echoes in your ears—sending vibrations throughout your core. You shudder when the smooth of his fingers glide over the exposed skin on your waist, and he almost finds it a little sadistic with how much he’s enjoying you squirm when he hasn’t even done anything.
Your breathing becomes a touch erratic as you feel the lingering touch of his hand against your waist. You attempt to mask your growing excitement, skin prickling with electricity. Despite your best efforts, there’s a faint quiver in your words that you can only hope he doesn’t notice. “G—Go on. . .”
Sadly, nothing gets past Wriothesley’s gaze, and he’s able to take note of your trembling voice and hands; he isn’t the duke for nothing, after all. He can’t help but feel the boost to his ego when he realizes he has a tight grip over you at this moment. With a swift tug, you’re suddenly pushed against his broad chest, eyes blown wide. He chuckles as you choke over your words, swiping his thumb over your bottom lip. “You know, (princess/prince). . . I can’t tell if you’re just dense or trying to prove something to yourself.” The raven-haired male teases. “I’ve been smitten with you for weeks now, you know,” he presses, eyes trained on your expression to read any changes. “I can’t help but wonder if you’re as aware as your actions suggest—or if you have been merely feigning ignorance. Please, explain yourself.”
Your breath catches in your throat as the magnitude of Wriothesley’s words settles in; he’s so direct and brazen with his declaration that it sucks all the breath out of your lungs. Your mind races as you grapple with the sudden realization that he is just as enamored with you as you are with him. Your expression must speak louder than words because as you open your lips to speak, Wriothesley closes the distance—slotting his mouth on yours.
It sends all your senses reeling like they’ve been drenched in ice water after burning for too long. Like a balm and a spark, it’s both a soothing salve and a blazing inferno, comforting and ravaging you in equal measure. All the tension of your attraction has suddenly become a physical manifestation, the culmination of all the unspoken words and feelings that have gone unsaid for too long.
Wriothesley pulls himself even closer to you, his passion only intensifying the longer the kiss carries on. The feeling of his body pressing against yours ignites a primal urge within you, driving the kisses to become more intense. His hands slide further down the bare flesh of your back, tracing your waist in a possessive claim to your body. His tongue dives underneath your bottom lip; it probes between them, trying to gain access to the interior of your mouth.
A noise akin to a muffled whimper escapes your throat as his tongue pushes into your mouth with a feverish, nearly desperate need. The intensity of the sensation is overwhelming, and you feel yourself shudder with a sense of raw desire as his hand slides down from your hip to your thigh, his fingers squeezing and digging into the soft flesh. His touch is both tender and possessive, sending your nerves reeling.
When his fingers climb closer up your thighs, you plant your hands on his face and gently push his head away, his mouth chasing after yours instantaneously. You sigh softly, your face flushed scarlet from the heat of the situation. “Wriothesley. . . We are still in your office. Anyone can walk in at any time.” You chuckle, swiping the saliva from his bottom lip.
His body hums with contentment at the breathless sound of his name coming from your lips. He lets out a displeased huff as he nestles his nose in the crook of your neck, sharply inhaling your scent and drowning himself in the warmth of your body. He absentmindedly starts nipping at your skin, “And? I’ve had enough nights getting off—”
“O—Okayokay! As an. . . apology for keeping you waiting, how about after work, we fulfill those fantasies of yours?” You chuckle nervously and thread your fingers through his hair, smiling when he leans his entire body onto you. “Don’t think I didn’t see the way some of the inmates looked at me when I dragged you in here. . . I don’t think I could recover if they walked in and found out they guessed right.”
Wriothesley’s laughter is like a deep, thunderous rumble that soon after swarms your stomach with butterflies. His kisses pepper your face in response, the sweet scent of your skin filling him with a sense of contentment. He pulls away and smiles down at you, the heat and adoration in his eyes impossible to miss. “After work, then,” he repeats and holds up his pinky, signaling you to do the same. Rolling your eyes, you indulge him and hook your pinky to his—a cutesy gesture veiled in a not-so-innocent promise.

Man, we really lost when we decided that the best way to feel safe or to try to prevent bad things from happening is to assume malicious intent from everyone and police every little fucking thing about existing.
Want to go shopping? You'll be treated like a thief. Security cameras, anti-theft sensors by the door, and a staff that may or may not follow you around isn't enough; we're also putting security tags on every single piece of $4 underwear in the bargain bin and keeping everything on the shelves under lock and key, so you can't even look at it without staff assistance/supervision. No, cameras and staff monitoring checkouts isn't enough. We also need someone else searching your bags and verifying your receipts at the door. (And god help you if a security sensor somewhere didn't get deactivated properly and the door alarm goes off.)
Are you a student taking an exam? We've already decided you're a cheater. Of course you are — all students cheat. So you get assigned, spaced out seats in the testing room, surrounded by cameras. Show us your photo ID at the door. Nothing goes in the room with you but your pencil. Leave your phone, wallet, water, and anything else in a locker outside. All your jewelry, too. No long sleeves. Let us check your hair/headbands/pockets/ears/religious garb in case you're smuggling something in. Need to leave for the restroom? No, you don't, or your exam is done. Emergency? You can choose between literally shitting yourself or failing your course and risking expulsion for cheating.
Online exam? Prepare to be subject to literal spyware. Your eyes better not waver a fraction out of the "acceptable" gaze window. Don't press any button you're not supposed to or mis-click anything; that's proof you're trying to cheat. Don't even think about shifting in your seat, even if your test is two hours long.
Do you work? It'd better be at top speed and no errors at all times. We have security cameras trained on you every moment, sensitive enough to read the text of any paper you handle. We're tracking exactly what you do and how fast. Did your metrics slip for even a second? Unacceptable, even if your rate is otherwise within our "acceptable" range, because we know you can work faster. Yawn? How dare you — we don't pay you to be tired. You're not working hard enough. You must not have enough to do — your requirements have now tripled and we've cut your pay as an incentive not to waste time again. Make a mistake? You must have done it on purpose. You must be trying to steal or sabotage. We'll be evaluating to see how quickly we can fire you and if we can press charges or sue you for damages.
Need to travel via plane? It doesn't matter if you're paying through the nose to do so; you're clearly a criminal who's only not committing a crime at this very moment because you're outnumbered by security officers. We need to question you excessively if you don't look exactly like your ID picture taken three years ago. Take off half your clothes and walk through our scanners that will basically show you without them. (Then prepare to be wanded, and possibly groped — maybe even by more than one person — and if we really feel like it, taken to another room to be stripped and questioned further.) You can't take some necessities with you. Your belongings will be x-rayed and pawed through and commented upon, and they're maybe even a reason to detain and question you further. Why does your purse have suspicious organic matter in it? No, that can't possibly be a bag of fruit snacks you bought from the kiosk 20 feet away; you're trying to hide explosives.
Need medication? You're lying. You're faking. You're just trying to get drugs. You're an addict. You're a dealer. No, you don't have a condition that really requires medication; if you just slept more/lost weight/did yoga/were a better person, you wouldn't have to feel like you need to use drugs. We don't care if your doctor says you need this medication — your insurance company says you don't. Oh, you can afford it anyway? At that price? You must be reselling. We need to investigate and put notes on your file.
Communicating via message? God forbid you take even a fraction of a second too long to respond. You must be trying to hide something. You're slacking off your work. You must be cheating on your partner. You must have a problem with the sender and are leaving them out of something. You left them on read; you're being a bitch. You edited a response or took too long to type something — you're actually being mean and manipulative by not just saying what was on your mind first. Company policy is we get to see everything on your devices. You shouldn't have a problem sharing your personal location/passwords/etc. with your partner if you're not up to no good.
Want to simply exist where a stranger might see you? That's suspicious. What are you doing out here? We don't recognize you. You must be stealing. You must be casing the houses or stores in this neighborhood. You must be looking for someone to rob/assault/harass/etc. You must be part of that rabble claiming they're protesting to cover up the nuisances and criminals they are. Why did you hold a door for me — are you trying to get behind me? Why have I seen you more than once while I'm shopping here — are you following me? Why did you smile at me — do you have a problem? Why are you walking down the street? Why are you sitting on a bench? Why are you visiting the library? Why are you eating alone at the cafe? You don't look like you belong here. You look like a creep. You need the police to come handle you. (If they use force, that just shows you were up to something and totally deserve it.)
Want to exist online? We need to know everything about you — your real name, address, email, age — to ensure you're not a criminal. But you're probably also lying. We need to spy on everything you do, too: every site you visit (and how long you spend there), every purchase you make, every message you send, every search you do. We will take everything you say in bad faith, so be careful about what you post. But it's also extremely suspicious if you don't post — who doesn't have an extensive social media presence these days? What are you trying to hide? You need to indicate that you think the right way. You aren't posting about this — you must not care; you must be a bad person. You deleted an old post — you must be trying to hide your awful views. You can't possibly just be removing things from your profile that no longer reflect who you are. You posted something that I don't like — I knew there was something off about you. It's not a leap to think you're also into worse things. You're probably a pervert. You're actually a criminal of the worst sort and this is an early warning sign for those of us who are smart enough to see it. We're only accusing you of these things NOW so you don't have an opportunity to do them.
Didn't you know? You need to be constantly watched and humiliated and inconvenienced and sometimes even attacked because that's the only thing standing in the way of bad things happening. If you find all this demeaning, there's something wrong with you. Only criminals would rather trade this for being less safe. You don't want us to go from thinking you're a criminal to knowing you're a criminal, do you?
...
Like, fuck. Aren't you tired of living like this???
Some of this stuff has been around for a long time, and it obviously isn't applied evenly across all demographics. But a lot of it has also gotten exponentially worse within the past few decades. Please don't ever accept any of this as normal or necessary or good, because it's not. I'm going insane watching people shrugging off the increasing infantilization and dehumanization of everyone just because this is all they can remember.
It doesn't have to be this way. Don't ever take this shit as a given — it wasn't that long ago that some of this would have been unthinkable. And the instant someone starts talking about doing things a certain way/supporting certain things because of "safety" or "security," be very careful about blindly agreeing with them. We lose very real, important things in pursuit of the nebulous concept of "safety."

Dr's Assistant Danny
So, Danny has to run away from Amity after deciding to tell his parents about his powers. They acted like they accepted him, but when his back was turned they shot him with one of their Inventions and dragged him into the Lab for Study.
They think he's been taken over by a Ghost and decide to be "Surgeons" by opening him up and removing the Ghost by hand. Throughout all of this, they are just telling Danny that they are qualified doctors and can definitely do this perfectly. But they don't even use Anesthesia, and don't know the first thing about Surgery. But their delusions of being perfect Doctors have taken a hold of them, and they can't even comprehend the idea that they are doing it wrong.
After a week of "Surgeries", they mess up and forget to lock his Cell, and Danny manages to escape, hopping on a Bus headed to New Jersey.
He ends up in Gotham, hiding in an Alley to avoid Civilians and to bandage himself up. Thankfully his parents stitched him up fairly well after the last session, but he is still really hurt. And the cuffs restricting his powers don't help either.
He passes out in the Alley and wakes up in a Doctors Office. He panics, thinking that his parents found him and took him back to the Lab. Thankfully, the resident Dr rushes in to calm him down.
It's Dr Leslie Thompkins, and she really wants her patient to stop struggling thank you very much.
She manages to calm him down, and explains that she found him in the Alley, but that he was seriously injured. He was out for 4 days.
He explains what he can, that he told his parents that he had powers and that they didn't take it well. Not the Ghost thing, but he does explain that his parents could charitably be referred to as "Mad Scientists", and Dr Thompkins figures it out from there.
Since he doesn't have a place to stay, she let's him stay at her place. It's not much, but it's enough for 2 people.
After a few days, he starts helping out in the Clinic as a way to repay her.
After a few weeks, he starts taking on the bigger jobs and starts learning about medical aid
A few months in, and both Danny and Leslie realize that he has basically become her Personal Assistant. So she trains him in the legitimate way, teaching him all she can about being a Doctor and basically everything he would have learned in Medical School, which really helps with his trauma over the whole "constant unethical surgery from people who claimed to be licensed professionals" thing.
He still has those Restraining Cuffs on, they could never figure out how to take them off and they were basically unbreakable, but he was fine on his own.
And a note to add to this is that all of this is taking place in the early Years of Batman, like Years 1 and 2. So it's certainly a shock when Danny walks in for work and sees The Batman lying on a Cot.
Over the many following years, Danny gets used to his life in Gotham. He managed to contact Jazz, and his friends as well, even if they needed to keep it very secret for fear of his parents finding out.
He manages to get on friendly terms with most of the Bat Family from their many, many, many visits to the Clinic.
He never does reveal his past to them, he knows that they would never not poke their noses into it, so he tried to keep it on the down low around them. He even hid his Cuffs all these years. (He doesn't want to attract his parents attention)
But that all changed one day.
He messes up. He accidently calls Jazz outside of their scheduled safe times and his parents just so happen to be visiting her new house at the time. They pick up the call for her, and Danny, not knowing it's not Jazz on the other end, says "Hey Jazz, it's Danny. Just wanted to let you know that I'll he busy with work for a while so I won't be able to call as often".
When he gets no response, he gets concerned and asks "Jazz? You there?"
His parents immediately begin to trace the Call, but before they can get an exact location Danny wises up and hangs up. Buts it's too late, his Parents know he's in Gotham now, even if they don't know exactly where.
Danny doesn't know that they tracked him down though, but he quickly figures it out when Red Hood is rushed into the Clinic a week later after being attacked by "A big guy in an orange jumpsuit with a laser gun", who was joined by "A tiny lady in a blue jumpsuit with a baseball bat"
The Drs Fenton reached Gotham and immediately began tracking any Ecto-Signatures they could find. And Red Hood just so happened to be the closest one.
Now Danny has to find a way to deal with his parents without his powers. Since the Anti-Ecto Laws are still in effect, they aren't technically doing anything Illegal, and their Government Contracts would protect them either way.
He needs to figure out how to get rid of them. Due to the high concentration of Ectoplasm in Gotham, there are many unknowing Liminals in the City. His parents could end up attacking many innocent Civilains in search for him, maybe even subjecting them to the same things he was subjected to.
The only way he can think to do that is to give himself up.
Of course he knows Dr Leslie would disagree, but before she can stop him he sneaks out in the middle of the night, leaving a note thanking her for all that she had done for him over the years. It explains that the people who attacked Red Hood are his infamous Parents, and that they are searching for him. They could end up hurting alot of people if they stay, so he needs to nip this in the bud and is going to turn himself in to them.
She immediately takes the note to Batman.
She still vividly remembers the state she found Danny in. He still has the V-Shaped Scar on his chest from his experiences with his parents, and she'll be damned if she' going to let that happen to him again. (She kind of adopted him as her son a while ago)
She tells them everything. How she found him in the Alley, his injuries, how she nursed him back to health, his story about Meta-Hating Mad Scientist Parents, the unbreakable Cuffs he always hid, all of it.
Now it's a race to find Danny and save him from his Parents again.

The Nurse
Tumblr media
1/1
summary: Coriolanus never forgets about the nurse who treated his snakebite, and he is determined to not let her forget him.
Warnings: unrequited love, graphic wounds, stalking, coryo being de lu lu, non-con, pretty tame for me to be honest.
Word Count: 12, 250
Thank you all for you patience and kind words!
Coriolanus was sure he was going to die. He could feel the poison traveling up his arm, and through the rest of his body.
He never should have trusted Lucy-gray. Love made him stupid.
Now just as he was getting his life back, it was being slowly sucked from his body.
Betrayed by someone that owed him her life. She would have died in the Hunger games if not for him. He sacrificed everything for her, but it wasn’t enough. She wanted his final breath.
She couldn’t have it. Not now that everything he had fought his whole life for was within his reach. His fathers compass agrees. It points him in the direction of help.
Through blurry eyes, he could see the gates of the compound. There they could fix him and send him onward to officer training. There he could live up to his name.
Coriolanus struggles to put one foot in front of the other. His body felt like it was on fire. Sweat poured from him, the snake's poison, and his long journey back in the sun teamed up to exhaust him.
The ringing ears indicated that Coriolanus was done. He could no longer place where he was. Was the gate in front of him, or has he spun in a completely different direction?
The weight of the compass falls from his hands, unable to help him. The world felt as if it was spinning him around. His vision was blurry and limited to two feet in front of him.
“Sir, are you alright?”, a low yell was heard over his ringing ears.
He swiped his hand to see if he could touch them, but it shoosh’s through the air. It used all the energy he had left. No longer with the energy to stand, he crumbles to his knees. He feels the hard rocks dig into him, so he knew he was on the path to the compound.
After everything, this is how he dies. He regrets trying to make it back. It would have been better if his body was lost in the woods. Less humiliating than being found trying to crawl back like a coward.
“You’re okay”, the sweet voice spoke, closer.
He looks to see eyes staring at him. In a panic, he pushes away from them, certain it was Lucy-Gray coming to finish the job. The action pushes the side of his body into the road's gravel, scraping his skin, and leaving smaller rocks wedged in his side.
“I want to help. I just want to help. It’s okay”, the voice spoke. Not Lucy-Gray. Not a threat.
He could feel his body being hoisted up. You tucked your small shoulders under his arm, and wrapped your arm around his waist.
“You’re going to be okay”, you spoke again.
He tried to assist you in walking him forward. All his weight was lent on you, but you  were determined not to drop him.
You yell for the guarding peacekeepers to come help, as they shuffle forward.
He stumbles, nearly taking you to the ground with him, but you are quick to steady the weight again. You move forward again, slower this time to allow for Coriolanus to balance himself without his senses.
You scream a name that he recognised from training, but couldn’t place a face to.
It was lucky that you was friendlier than he was. The gate swung wide at the name. No formal checks of identity that should have been done according to protocol were made.
Your name was called back, but Coriolanus screamed in pain over it. His arm began to pound in agony. He tried to move it up to his chest, but his arm had lost all movement.
You ordered the men to abandon their post to take him to the medical camp. He was surprised when they did it without a fight.
The weight of him is lifted off you as he is lifted off the ground by two officers. With one carrying his legs, and one lifting him under his arms, Coriolaus is jogged to the medical tent.
It didn’t matter. It was too late. Coriolanus Snow would die in district 12 like his father. Rebels would end the great Snow line.
He could hear you as you led the men. All sight was lost, his consciousness slipping in and out as he heard curtains being drawn, and a hasty search for something.
Coriolanus is placed on a hard bed, and something tight is wrapped around his arm.
The last thing he felt was a soothing hand sweeping over his head. A kind last touch, he thought.
Tumblr media
He woke from heat. His whole body felt as if he was in a furnace.
A cool rag was wiped over his head, and he opened his eyes enough to see you staring back. His eyesight had returned but he had to fight to keep his eyes open.
He was laying on his uninjured arm. He raises it slightly to catch your small wrist in his hand as you go to dab his sweat again. You remain calm, waiting for him to fall back asleep.
His hand drops to the bed with your wrist. His cheek presses up against your fingers, the wet rage soaks the bedding beneath. Still you leave it there until he is back asleep before you continue your work.
The next time he woke up, he was alone with a pounding headache.
His sight was back, but his arm still ached, and he could feel the sweat on his head from his temperature.
The medical facility was large, rows and rows of beds stretched out. Most were filled with men of various ailments.
Across the large space was a wall that separated the patients from the rest of the medical facility. A large glass window showed the nurses den.
Two nurses sat behind it talking. Their uniform was light blue like the peacekeepers uniform. Only the uniform was fashioned into half length sleeves which were cuffed at their elbows and a form fitting skirt. Despite efforts of the design, it was manly.
The collars seemed too large for womens neck, the pockets on each side were too big across their chests. Coriolanus realized that they were old peacekeeper uniforms repurposed for the nurses.
Coriolaus looked up to see the railings of the curtain that could be pulled for privacy but he was too weak to rise.
He layed in disbelief that he had survived. A second chance was given to him. Nothing would stand in his way now. No longer will he be swayed by his emotions. His only focus would be rising to the top. How he got there no longer mattered. He had tried hard work, and moral reasoning, and it left him dead in the forest.
Coriolanus looked down at his bite, it was covered in a white wrap, but he could see the discolouration of his skin, and feel the liquid as it oozed out of the bite.
He hoped it would leave a scar. A reminder of a hard lesson learnt.
A doctor interrupted his thoughts to check his vitals. He was an older doctor, with gray, thin hair, and wrinkled skin. But he wore no glasses, and walked tall, and  straight.
“You were lucky, Mr Snow. You were found just in time. Even two minutes later, and you would have been dead”, he said, writing down on his clipboard.
Coriolanus huffs. After everything he was owed a bit of luck.
He remembers the girl who found him. Her soft touch, and beautiful eyes. The same women who had attended to him with the cool rag.
“Who found me?”, he asks the doctor.
“One of the nurses here. Very lucky indeed, Mr Snow. One of my favorite nurses, Nurse Y/n. She took good care of you. You owe her your life”.
It felt as if he had been bitten again.  He didn’t want to owe anybody anything.
“I would like to thank her”.
He remembers how you struggled to keep his weight up right. You could have left him. Had him be someone else's problem, but you didn’t. You were still learning that goodness would not come back to you.
“You’ll get your chance. She’s on night shift tonight”.
He felt eager to see you. Someone in this world yet to learn it was dog eat dog.
The doctor said you were his favorite. That could only mean that you were kind, and beautiful. Coriolanus expected nothing less from you.
Coriolanus waits while the others sleep. The shifts had still not been switched yet. He grew inpatient. He wanted to thank you, and go to sleep.
But the same nurse who delivered his dinner sat there flipping through a magazine behind the glass.
Hours passed, he thought about abandoning the idea, and going to sleep. The hospital was small, and inadequately staffed. He was sure to run into you at a later date. Yet he made no move to sleep. Part of him wanted to see you tonight.
Finally, he did. The shifts were changed, and the nurse he had grown to detest was putting down her magazine to greet you.
He recognized you instantly as you entered the nurses den.You put down your coat and bag, as you talk to the nurse on duty. For a late night shift you seemed in good spirits.
You look out from the window, and for some reason Coriolanus pretended to be asleep. He didn’t want you to think he was a stalker, waiting up for you.
Only one nurse was on duty overnight due to staff shortage, and Coriolanus felt relieved when the other nurse returned back to the nurses quarters. He wanted to be alone with you.
He waits patiently until you come out to check on the men.
You pulled blankets over them like they were children, put their limbs back onto their small beds. You made sure every man's vitals were where they were supposed to be. More work than the other nurse did her entire shift.
You are slow getting to him, but he doesn’t mind. He enjoyed watching you as you worked.
It was dark, and you were so focused on your task, you didn’t see him staring at you until you reached his bed.
“Hello” he greets.
“Mr Snow”, you address, “You should be asleep”.
“I was waiting for you. I hear it is you that I have to thank for saving my life”.
“Hardly. I just assisted”.
You were bashful about saving a man's life.
“Well thank you for assisting to save my life, and for carrying me to the gates. I wouldn’t have got there if you hadn’t arrived”.
The blush on your cheeks was heavenly. A small smile teased your lips, and you looked shyly down. It wasn’t often you got praised, he guessed, he would try to do it as often as possible.
“It was no problem”, you mutter.
Your eyes suddenly shoot down to him, and your posture straightens.
“Is your arm giving you pain?”, you ask him.
It was, but he didn’t want anymore drugs making him hazy so he denies the throbbing sensation.
“No. I feel fine”.
“Can I get you an extra blanket or pillow?”.
His heart twists at your words. He very rarely hears ‘what can i do for you’, instead of ‘what can i take from you’. It was a nice change.
“No, thank you”.
“If you change your mind, let me know. I have rounds to do. Any problem, push your call button” you point to a yellow light clicker next to him, “try to get some sleep. Rest is important in your recovery”.
He almost begged you to stay, but it was a childish need.
“Thank you, nurse Y/n”, he returns.
You leave him with a smile, “of course”.
Over the next couple of days of bed rest Coriolanus grew restless to see you. It felt like torture, waiting hours to sometimes only catch a glimpse of you as you pottered in the staffs den, or made your rounds on the other side of the hospital.
He mostly hated Tuesdays, and Fridays, as they were your days off.
He felt jealous when he saw you attend to other patients. He knew it was silly, it was your job, but he didn’t like being attended to by anyone else, and he didn’t like you attending to anyone else. He didn’t like that you had a job at all. Let alone one this taxing.
But it did mean that he got to see you.
He liked to think that he was your favorite, but you gave no indication that it was true.
You were kind to everyone. Had repours with nearly all of the men in your wards. Some even called you by your first name only. Coriolanus felt it was disrespectful and too familiar for his likening.
The man next to him had a leg blown off in an explosive test gone wrong. Sometimes it felt as if he was your favorite.  You would spend more time at his bed, than Coriolanus’s. And you always called him by his name, Francies, but always called Coriolanus, Mr snow.
Still you found his compass for him, polished and delivered it straight to him, that was a sign that you favorited him. You only performed within your job requirements for Francies, you went beyond for him.
He began to worry that love had made him stupid again. Like Lucy-Gray, you consumed his thoughts.
Except here, you held the power. He could only see you when you decided to visit him, where he could visit Lucy-Gray in her enclosure anytime he wished. You fed him, he fed Lucy-Gray. He hated being on the other side of the power imbalance. He promised himself that he would only be on top from now on.
It was stupid after everything to fall so quickly back into his obsessive nature. He thought he would never love again. Never give someone that much power over him again. He would marry for power, and to someone who had no sway over him at all.
Yet when he saw you eating soup for the millionth time in the nurses den, he wished for nothing more than to give you every luxury life had to offer. You saved his life. You were kind to him, when all he had ever known was being of use to someone.
He would get back to the Capitol, Hoff had promised him that district 2 was still on the cards. All he had to do was get better, and he could complete officer training, get back to the Capitol, and send for you there.
Without school in the way, he could get a good job. Plinth had managed to get Coriolanus’ academy diploma.  That still had use, even with his time as a peacekeeper.
He would get the Snow apartment back. It might be crowded, and run down, but he would slowly fix that. He figured you wouldn’t mind so long as he was working towards a better future.
He would daydream of a better future for you both, while he waited to see you. Not only was he given another chance, he was given motivation to take it.
Why would you want a low Peacekeeper for a husband? You were surrounded by them all day. What good were they to you? How would they take care of you, and provide all that you need.
Even on an officer's wage, it would be a struggle. He still had to send home money. Even as an officer he would be no good to you. He had to get home, and rise to the top.
But, he was going to miss you in doing so. He faked being hurt just a little bit longer than necessary. He would have to go soon, but two extra weeks of your attention wouldn’t derail his plans too much.
You worked mostly night shifts which distributed Coriolanus sleep. But it worked in his favor too. Rarely was anyone else awake. It could just be the two of you
He thought you liked it too. You would smile when you saw him awake.
He found himself smiling back on reflex.
“Do you sleep, Mr Snow?” you tease him.
“Not when you’re around”, he admits.
His words still you. It’s clear you feel uncomfortable that he said it. Coriolanus wished he could disappear.
“Is your arm giving you pain again?” you ask. He takes the opportunity for the dismissal.
“Ah-Yes”, he deflects.
You turn up his pain relief, and unwrap his bandage to take a look.
Coriolanus set his record for two wrong things said in a row. He was always cool, and calculated. You had to be to survive in the Capitol. Honey-tongued he was called, but now he was acting like a fool.
He didn’t want the extra pain relief that would make him tired, and he definitely didn’t want you to look at his wound that was yellow and pusy.
It didn’t irk you like he suspected that it would have, but still he tried to yank his arm away and hide it under the blanket.
You catch his hand with yours to keep his arm still as you inspect it. He suddenly felt very hot as you held his hand on the bed, while you looked put together and focused like always.
“Yellow bellies have the most painful bite of any snake in the district. I am surprised you complain so little”.
You jerk your hand from his, causing his fingers to curl. He keeps his fingers tight against his palm which aggravates the sore muscles on his bitten arm.
Taking a bottle from his nightstand, and dapping it into a medical cloth, you turn your focus back on him.
“I am just going to clean it. It might hurt a little”.
The first dap felt like acid on his arm. He grits his teeth from the pain.
“Why don’t you tell me about yourself. How long have you been a peacekeeper for?”.
You were trying to distract him. He picked up on it easily. He should have felt like a child, but he felt thrilled at the opportunity to talk to you about something other than his arm.
“Not long. I am going to Officer training in two, and then I’ll make my way back to the Capitol”.
“Oh the Capitol? You aren’t a transfer from another district”, you observe as you tap his yellow, and flaky skin with your rag.
“Do you know the Campbells?”, you ask.
He did. He was surprised that you did.
“We were neighbors, before the war” you explain.
“You’re from the Capitol?” he asks.
“I was. The war took both my parents. After that there was nothing left for me there”.
There was no emotion as you said it. No hidden anguish at all you had lost.
“I am sorry that happened to you”, he offered.
“Don’t be. Plenty of orphans due to the war. I am grateful that the medic school took me.  But the Campbells had this little white dog that I used to love. I always wondered if it survived”.
Coriolanus knew that the dog was long gone. The Campbells had eaten it when supplies were cut off to the Capitol. They tried to sell its fur to Grandma’am.
He didn’t want to disappoint you with the news, so a lie fell off his tongue.
“Yes, it did. Mrs Campbell carries it everywhere with her”.
You smile and he is glad he chose to lie.
“My parents died in the war too. I have my grandmother, and cousin waiting for me to get back to the Capitol’’.
“I hope you get there, Mr Snow”, you say as you wrap his arm back up.
“Would you come with me?”, he asks.
Your pause made him worry that you were going to laugh at him, but instead you looked shyly up and smiled.
“This is my home. I am happy here’, you state.
“The Capitol would be better than here. I could give you the life you deserve”.
“The Capitol is not for me”, you deflect.
He felt angry at your resistance. Did you not think he could look after you? Did you not trust that he would not remain a peacekeeper all his days.
“So that’s a no. You wouldn’t come with me”, he determines.
It should have been disheartening. He should have left the idea alone there, but if anything it was a challenge. A call for action. Motivation to leave the hospital and become the man you would leave the district for.
“That’s a no,” you agree, “But when you get to the Capitol, I want you to give Mrs Campbell's dog a pat for me.”
The dog is dead, he wanted to say. You had hurt him, so he wanted to hurt you, but cool, and calculated is how he survived, and it’s how he would get everything he is after.
“I’ll do it for a kiss,” he barters.
You look surprised he said it. Unsure at first, before your lips turned into a sly smile.
Bending down, he thinks you are about to accept his offer. He parts his lips slightly for you, bringing his head towards yours slowly.
His heart pounds in his chest. If his arm wasn’t so sore he would reach out for your face.
He remembers the anticipation of Lucy-grays first kiss. It was a dizzing feeling that he hated.
He swears he feels your lips graze his but you duck your head away and kiss both his cheeks quickly.
“You can tell Mrs Campbell I said hi too”, you giggle.
“Was that amusing for you?”, he asks.
You nod your head with a grin across your face.
“Goodnight, Mr Snow. I’ll see you for breakfast”.
Wasting no more time with him, you continue your work with other patients.
“Goodnight, nurse y/n.”
Coriolanus rests his head on the pillow as you disappear into the other side of the hospital.
He must have been a child the last time he couldn’t help but smile. All that had happened seemed like a lifetime ago, and not only a couple of weeks. He was a new person. Lucy-Gray had killed the boy, and raised the man.
Wouldn’t come to the Capitol with him? He would be the final decider of that. He smiled thinking about the future ahead of him.

The news of his discharge did not bring him the pleasure he was expecting.
Who knew how long officer training would take. It could be years before he got back to the Capitol and that was only when his journey began. He was sure he would not forget you, but would time cause you to forget him.
His fellow Peacekeepers wished him well as he packed his truck up. Commander Hoff had signed him out this morning, but you weren’t there to say goodbye.
He couldn’t let you forget him.
He owed you his life, he had a debt to pay.
Everyone told him how happy he should be. To get out of 12, but you were in 12. Surrounded by young men with little brains but big muscles.
How lonely could he expect you to get before you found warmth in the arms of a soldier.
He tosses in his uncomfortable bed. In the morning he would be sent
miles away. Could he trust you to assume his love? No. He had to tell you. Had to assure you that he was coming back.
Tonight you did night shift. He had to tell you to wait for him.
He leaps out of his bunk, pulling on his cardigan before sneaking out of the bunks.
If a commanding officer caught him outside after lights out, the punishment was a night in the compound jail. He wouldn’t be released until late morning and would miss his train.
He is quick as he moves through the darkness. Only stopping to hide when night staff were approaching. He made it safely to the nurses door.
It was late. Night guard focused on the boundaries so Coriolanus felt safe to approach the door to the nurses den despite the light illuminating the door.
He knocks on the entry, and you open it shortly after. Unsuspecting, and untroubled.
“Mr Snow,” you smile at him, causing him to unknowingly smile back.
“Is something wrong?”, you step aside to allow him in out of the cold. He closes the door behind him, and feels secure being trapped in the room with you.
“Yes-No”, he wasn’t sure where to begin.
“Your arm?” you guessed.
“I am going to officer training tomorrow”, he states.
You smile wide at him again, but this time no smile on his lips curled back. He could tell you had not realized your stake in this.
“Congratulations.’’ you move past him to place a clip bored back on the shelf behind him, “I am happy for you.”
“Are you?” he asks.
“Of course. I remember you telling me your plans to reach the Capitol. Officer training is a good stepping stone”.
He grabs your arm to turn you towards him.
“I don’t want you to forget me”.
You looked unsettled, but made no attempt to break away.
“Of course not”, you answer.
“I don’t want you to think I’ll forget you either. I’ll send for you as soon as I can”.
Your face twists, and you slightly attempt to raise your arm out of his hold.
“Mr Snow, I am afraid you are confused. Maybe you should go back to your bunk”.
He uses his grip on your arm to shake you slightly.
“Don’t speak to me like that”, he requests. He wasn’t one of your patients.
“I told you, I have no interest in returning to the Capitol”. Your voice had changed from your usual sweet tone. It carried a hint of irritation, and strong determination.
You try to tug your arm back from him but it was too tight,
“I have an interest in you returning to the Capitol”.
You look past him to the door. It causes great irritation for Coriolanus. Who wanted all of your focus.
With his hold on your arm he pushes you back into the wall and kisses you. His lips are hard against yours. His eyes are closed but yours remain open from the shock.
You struggle against his kiss, but his grip was tight on your jaw and his lips pressed unmercifully against yours.
He was the one to break the kiss, leaving you breathless and shrunk against the wall.
“I need you to tell me you’ll wait for me”, he demands.
“Mr Snow, I-”.
He brings you forward to slam you back into the wall as punishment for your hesitation.
“Say it”.
Your hands come up in defense between you.
“I am sorry if I misled you”.
“Misled me? You saved my life”
“It’s normal for patients to feel this way after a traumatic experience. Your body has been through a lot of shock, wait for it to heal”.
“Say it. Say the words, Coriolanus Snow, I am yours, and I’ll wait for you”.
You look out the window to the sleeping patients. Even if one woke and saw you, most of them were too sick to even get out of bed.
“Don’t look at them. Look at me”, he demands. The hands that held you in place moved up to your neck
“Okay” you agreed quickly before he started to apply pressure.
“Say it”, he declared.
“I’ll wait for you”. You say but it doesn’t satisfy him.
“The whole thing”, he directs.
“Coriolanus, I am yours and I’ll wait, okay?”.
With his hands still on your neck he kisses you once more. You make no attempt to stop him as you place your hands on arms.
He pulls back with a boyish smile on his lips.
“I love you”, he states.
You pull his hands away from your throat and keep them still between your hands.
“You must go back to bed now. You have a big day ahead of you. You need your rest for it”,  you push him away slightly as you spoke, hoping it would be enough to redirect him.
He removes his hands from you completely with a smile.
He knew you were right. He needed to arrive his best tomorrow. Show district 2 that he wouldn’t be there for very long.
“I’ll send for you as soon as I can”, he promised.
You nod your head enthusiastically, pushing firmly on his arm to the exit.
His feet shuffle on the floor as he slowly walks to the door.
He stops just as his foot hits the cold air from the open door. It felt like you had run into a brick wall as you knocked against him.
“I promise y/n, I’ll take care of you”, he vows.
He comes in for a kiss again. His hand found its way to the side of your face to pull you in, and his lips pressed hard against yours.
You yank yourself away and push on him to retreat back to his bunk.
“Go” you whisper and he does.
You watch as he runs back into the buildings and under cover of the darkness.
Your shaky hands turn the lock of the door as he disappears from sight.

The next morning,as soon as he wakes he heads to the medical facility to say goodbye to you. He skips breakfast to do so.
You weren’t there, and he had no clue where the nurse quarters were kept. He had no time to find out, his train would leave soon.
He arrived at the train station disheartened that he couldn’t see you one last time. You must have been greatly upset at his departure. A goodbye must have been too much.
He pictured you crying in your bed, and his heart pulled to think of you in such a state because of him. He would write as soon as he landed in district 2, never mind the cost.
It was a delight when Commander Hoff spoke of a change of plans. Dr Gaul had requested your presence, Hoff said.
His luck had finally turned. He was back in the Capitol. Back where he was supposed to be in a high position of power and money to burn.
It was too soon to bring you back. The ground beneath him could still turn to quick sand under his feet. He thought of you often, every second that he had spare. He worried that you were angry with him. It had been too long since he had talked to you. He has been so busy settling in, and flaunting his new success that he didn’t have time to sit down to write. The few times he tried to squeeze in on the car ride, or while waiting for a meeting, his hands would shake too much.
He felt stupid. A simple letter should not make his hands shake. On the way back from the lake, he had promised himself that he would never allow love to make him weak again. Now he is worried about your feelings towards him.
Finally he decided that enough was enough. He rises from his bed after tossing nearly the whole night through, and enters his study.
The pen felt heavy in his hand as he sat. He wasn’t sure what to say, or where to start.
He shakes the pen in his hand. Enough was enough. He would be careful how much you swayed his emotions.
‘Dear Nurse Y/n,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. ‘
He strikes his pen through the words, before crumpling up the paper and throwing it away. So formal.
‘Dear Y/n,
My plans to reach the Capitol have been expedited. I am now working under Dr Gaul in the war department. We have plans to run for senate.
I have not forgotten my promise that I would send for you. ‘
His pen stills. With everything going on, he wasn’t sure that now was the best time to bring you. Tigres had limited contact. He was working until late at night. Nearly all his money went to the run for senate.
Once he wins things would be different. He would send for you then. Until then, he wanted you to have a piece of him. A token of his promise.
He picks up his old peacekeeper dog tags from his desk drawer. It felt like a collar in his hands.
He tosses them into the envelope and continues writing his letter to you.
‘I have enclosed my dog days. I wish for you to wear them while I am away. A symbol of my love. We will not be parted for too long. Take care of yourself.
Yours,
C.Snow’
Coriolanus writes to you every evening before bed, but no letter is ever returned. He didn’t mind, he was sure that it was because you missed him too much. Writing would cause you pain, and that’s the last thing he wanted to cause, even if a reply was all he wanted.
He would write mundane things. What he did that day, how much he missed you, how his election for senator was going.
It was going well. He won voters easily. But the run kept him busy, with little time and energy left to write to you. He worried that you would be upset with him. Sometimes all he could manage to write was, ‘I love you. I am tired.’
The gifts he would send were returned. Every letter he would assure you that he was working towards bringing you here. Begged you not to be mad at him.
But you would not accept his telephone calls and your presents piled at his feet.
It had been nearly six months since he left district 12. Six months of not seeing you. Not hearing from you. It drove him mad.
He called you a spiteful woman in one of his late night letters after a fundraising gala.
The next letter that arrived the same day apologized. You were not a spiteful woman. He was a stupid man. You had every right to be angry with him. He is taking too long. He begged for your forgiveness and reminded you of his love.
You threw the letters in the bin and clocked on for your shift. The days were longer now that you don’t talk to the patients.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus sits in his office after a long day. He wanted nothing more than to go home and have you there. Ready to care for him like you did at the hospital.
He twirls the pen between his fingers. The other hand played with the coins he planned to give you.
He wished you would reply to him. A single sentence would be enough to quench his thirst.
Begging for a letter would seem desperate. With a beginning in mind he set his pen to paper.
‘Dear Y/n,
I hope to hear from you that you have been well. ‘
Yes, good. Set the expectation of a reply.
‘Please, let me know if there is anything I can do to ease any discomfort. I have been well.  Apologies for the delay in writing to you. I have been busy preparing to run for senator. With the support I have managed to gather I believe victory is set. You’ll be a senator's wife upon returning to the Capitol. As soon as I win, and it is safe, I will send for you. I haven’t forgotten you.
I have missed you terribly, and think of you often.
I hope to be reunited soon.
Yours,
C.Snow.’
Nothing but the money he sent was returned.
It sent him into a fit of rage. Papers were thrown off his desk. Decorative ornaments were thrown across the room and into walls.
He decided that no more letters were going to be sent unless he could tell you the news you have been waiting for.
He worked harder than ever. No longer playing fair. He cut corners where he could. Relied on money, rather than charm. He used to be opposed to the use of poison. Told Dr Gaul that he would win the senate seat through his wit, but time was passing too quickly. Coriolanus grew impatient. A nasty rumor about what he was doing spread around the Capitol, but he quickly shut it down.
It paid off with a landslide victory. He hadn’t just won his entry to the presidency. He had won you.
Surely, you could no longer be mad at him with such an impressive victory. He had his assistant organize a train out of district 12 for you.
With it in his hand he sat in his office chair and penned you a letter still dressed in his uncomfortable formal attire.
‘Dearest,
You may of heard the news of my win last night.
I have attached a train ticket out of 12. It leaves next monday at noon. Don’t miss it.
Forever yours,
C.Snow. ‘
With no reply back, Coriolanus was hopeful that he would see you on the train. He arrived too early to collect you, and spent the hour waiting by pacing the platform with the dying rose.
When it finally pulled up, he could hardly hide his excitement. It had felt like years without seeing you. He sent you beautiful green luggage set to back what you wanted, and a new dress to arrive in.
He waits for you to arrive out of the first class carriage but it emptied without sight of you. He continued down, weaving through the people down to the luggage carriage. Maybe you had gotten off the train while he was distracted.
The green set of luggage he had sent you was being carried off the train. He rushed to the carriage to greet you, but only a working man was there.
“Where’s the girl who owns this luggage?”, he demanded.
“No girl, sir. Only the luggage and the ticket”, replied the man.
The rose dropped from his hand. It felt as if the venom from the snake had begun to pulse through his body again.
He rushes back to his office where he hastily grabs a piece of paper, and pen.
His pen digs a hole into the paper from where he pressed down, but through his anger no words could be formed.
After everything you would not come. You were stubborn like Lucy-gray. Didn’t know when to quit. He would have to change that about you when you became a senate's wife.
He crumples up the letter and throws it in the bin. There would be no warning for you.

The next week he arrived back in district 12. It was a surprise to the district which meant it was a surprise to you.
A trip as a new senate leader to ensure the medical facilities were up to standard, he had told the Commander.
The new Commander of district 12 was chuffed with a visit from the Capitol. It proved difficult to be left alone at the hospital. Coriolanus’s eyes the small hospital he managed to push his way too.
The Commander was too loud. He would take the element of surprise away. It would give you a chance to escape, and Coriolanus would spend hours searching the compound for you.
He wanted to wrap his hands around the new Commander's throat. Coriolanus despised Hoff during his peacekeeper days. But at least Hoff knew the importance of composure. This man nearly leaped into Coriolanus' arms.
A lie of a headache landed Coriolanus in the doctor's den. It was a bigger, self-contained room than the nurses' den. It was situated at the very back of the hospital, away from the noise and eyes of others. It made it a perfect place to bring you.
“There was a nurse”, Coriolanus spoke as he took a seat at the table, “back in my old peacekeeping days. Nurse Y/N, I think? Could you send for her? I’d like to see a familiar face”.
“Of course, Senator Snow. I’ll send her, and a doctor right along”. The Commander turns to leave. Panic and annoyance rises through Coriolanus.
“Just her”, Coriolanus said, a little too sharply. He takes a breath to regain himself before directing the Commander once more.
“And Commander, take two of my peacekeepers to escort her back. You’re a busy man, and they will want to do their security measures anyway”.
The Commander nods back before leaving the room.
Coriolanus lets out a shaky breath, running his fingers through his hair to smooth the curls back. After all this time he was going to see you again. He would be able to hold you, he was sure.
How would you greet him? Should he wait for you to set the tone? See your reaction and base his off that. He wasn’t sure he would be able to stop himself from touching you if you were within arms distance.
He sat back down behind the table. It would give him an excuse so you would be forced to make first contact.
His finger locks with his curls. He should have got his hair professionally done, but he was in such a hurry to get here to you. Instead he focuses on straightening his suit. It was expensive and well made. It should impress you, but not if it was crumpled.
His pocket bore a hole with the present he had brought for you. A lovely pair of diamond dangle earrings.
He twisted the box around in his fingers, and took another deep breath. He hoped that upon seeing him your anger would disappear.
Maybe it was all a test. You wanted him to come back. To put on a show for your friends here. The prince took the princess away to live happily ever after.
The prince brought a nice pair of earrings with him. Surely, you could forgive him for his delay. He couldn’t bear your anger.
His anxiety was matched with the ticking of his wrist watch. What could be taking so long? He wonders. Were you also readying yourself for him? Didn’t you know that you were the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on? It didn’t matter to him if your face was dirty, or your eyes carried sleep. Your heart blinded him to mere appearances. It was your soul he loved, and your soul he would have.
“Hello, dearest” he greets with a soft smile.
You slam the door closed behind you, shutting the Peacekeepers out.
“What are you doing here?” you seeth.
Coriolanus pockets the box once more. He would give it to you when you would appreciate them more.
“Would you like a cup of tea?”, he pours the pot that was given to him into the single teacup provided.
“I have work to do. What do you want?”, you state.
“I just want to talk. Sit please”. He gets up to show his full height. Sometimes he swore you forgot the noticeable size difference when you talked.
He gestures to the chair across the small table. He places the cup in front of you as you sit, before returning to his seat across from you.
“How have you been?”, he asks casually.
“You want to talk about my health?”, you spat back at him.
“You never responded to my letters”.
“I told you to stop sending them to me”.
“No”, Coriolanus rejects, “I never heard anything from you”.
It was a sore point for him that swelled a lot of the emotions he had pushed down.
“If I didn’t have tabs on you, I would have thought you were dead”, he let slip.
His eyes closed in frustration as he said it. Just your presence made him lose his composure. At least with you, he knew his secrets were safe.
“You were keeping tabs on me?”, you muttered in disbelief.
“As I said, I thought you could be dead. I was just making sure you were safe. I wasn’t sure my letters or presents were even reaching you”, he reasons. He leans his hand across the table, wanting so badly to touch you.
“What are you doing here?”, you ask again.
“I’ve come to take you home. Back to the Capitol”.
You did not look joyed at the news like you should have.
“District 12 is my home”, you accounce.
He pulls himself back from across the table. A harsher approach would be needed, so he squares his shoulders, and sits up as tall as he can. His face hardenings, and he feels a scowl edge across his face.
“You are happy here?”.
Flashes of the forest cross his mind. The endless wandering. The dull ache of thinking that he had failed his father. The betrayal.
“Yes”, you answer.
Coriolaus trains his eyes on the teapot, no longer able to look at you with such hate.
“That’s a shame”, he states.
“Shame?” You question.
“I didn’t come here to leave without you”.
“Mr snow-“
He sighs deeply, leaning on the table
“Coriolaus, please”, he begs.
You suddenly stand up, your chair falling back at movement.
“Coriolanus, get out. Keep your letters to yourself, and never bother me again”.
Coriolaus doesn’t move, just stares at you from his chair as if you were the crazy one.
“Get out!” you scream at him.
His puzzled expression turns back to a neutral stare as he rises from his chair.
“Forgive me, nurse Y/N. I wasn’t aware of your indifference”.
His shoulders brush yours as he passes you to the door.
He had a plan B. He always had a plan B.
Tumblr media
The next morning you were assigned to blood donation. A overhanging tent was placed near the front of the gates where districts, and fellow peacekeepers could donate for a few dollars.
You assisted a doctor in drawing, categorizing and storing the blood for use. You knew Coriolanus was still in the Compound. The Commander drove him around, showing him new additions since he was a peacekeeper. Coriolanus could care less, but he caught two glimpses of you as the car passed.
You were always busy working like he remembered. The tent quieted as it reached late afternoon. By 4 o’clock, it was just you and one other doctor attending the tent.
You still had three districts in chairs as the blood was pumped out of them. Coriolanus waited behind a building until he could see only one district left.
The doctor looks to be packing up while you talk to the man in the chair. Coriolanus hated that you were speaking to him. He was nothing. Less than nothing; he was district. He didn’t deserve to be talking to you.
Coriolanus made his way over with a calm demeanor, despite how he was feeling.
The doctor noticed him before you did.
“Mr Snow. Can we help you, sir?”, the doctor asked.
“I’d like to donate blood for the cause”, he answered. He made a point not to look at you.
“Mr Snow, that’s quite generous, but unnecessary”, the man replied.
“Please, I insist”. Coriolanus rolled up the sleeve of his left arm to prepare himself for the chair.
The Doctor looks to you, before accepting Coriolanus’s request.
“Very well. If you follow me I’ll just check your levels, and then I’ll send you to my nurse”.
Coriolanus could hear your protest leaving your lips, so he spoke loud and clear over them.
“Excellent”, he exclaimed.
He follows the Doctor to a small metal table with two fold out chairs opposite each other. He could partially see you from where he sat. You were still attending to the man in the chair but the talking had stopped.
Coriolanus engages the doctor in idle small talk so you couldn’t ask to be excused. He could see that the district had grown uncomfortable in Coriolanus’s presence, and kept asking how long he had left.
By the time Coriolanus had his blood pressure taken, and a sample of his blood taken, the district was being sent away from the tent with a coin, and a loaf of bread you had given him. Just in time for Coriolanus' time in the chair.
You ignore him, talking only to the doctor.
“Sir-I”, you begin but Coriolanus started his sentence in the middle of yours.
“I admit I have other motives aside from my patriotism. Nurse, would you mind answering a few questions I have? I want to hear every voice before I implement new changes”.
After hearing the Doctors complaints about the resources and pay, Coriolanus knew that the promise of change was his way in.
“Yes! yes, of course. You must hear all sides” the Doctor boasts.
“Doctor, would you mind leaving us? I find people speak easier truths without an audience”.
“Of course. She’ll tell you. It’s like working in a shooting range with limited bullets”, the Doctor turns to walk away, causing you to call out for him, taking his coat in your hands to tug him back.
He yanks it away from your grip. “Tell him”, he demands, “You won’t be in trouble he wants to know”.
Coriolanus gently touches your elbow, taking it in his hand, but releasing it as the Doctor becomes more focused on you.
“I’ll be back in half-an-hour. Don’t take anymore patients, I want to be packed up before it gets dark”.
The Doctor walks away from the tent, and the half-an-hour time frame begins to tick.
You looked sour, and slightly worried. He hated to see it, especially by cause of him.
You don’t move as he shuffles past you. He wanted to ease you so you could speak like you did when you visited his bedside. It was easy conversation, and for maybe the first time in his life, he felt seen by somebody. He wanted it back, but first he had to regain his familiar status with you.
“We’re in broad daylight, surrounded by Peacekeepers who like you more than me. What could I do?”, Coriolanus states as he takes his seat in the chair.
“You are unbelievable”, you scold, but move to swap his pressure point with disinfectant.
“I am sorry. Truely”. It had been so long since you were so close. Mere inches between you and him. It felt so right, could you feel it too? He thought.
“I never meant to offend you. My actions never held any ill intent”, he consoles.
The needle dug harshly into his arm, but he showed no effect of it.
“Sending me gifts, keeping tabs on me. You think I have forgotten that night in the nurses den?”. You pull back away from him once the needle begins drawing blood. He hated to let you, but plan B involved good terms.
“I am sorry for all of it. I misinterpreted, and fed delusion from my own fantasies. I never meant you harm”, he shouted his words across the tent hoping no other person was listening.
“I hope you can forgive me, Y/N. You saved my life”.
He could see your common sense fighting with your mercy. Your hands fidgeted, and your eyes kept bouncing from what you were doing to Coriolanus.
“Let’s just forget it”, you mutter.
“What?” he calls, despite hearing fine.
His plan works and you move back over to him to speak again.
“I forgive you. Bridge over water” you offer.
The saying was ‘water over the bridge’, but he didn’t want to correct you. If you said it was bridge over water, he would accept it.
“Thank you”, he gushed. “Why don’t you sit beside me like old times? I really do want to hear your opinions on reform”.
To his delight you do take a seat and discuss the issues with the Compound hospital. The Doctor focused on the long hours, disproportionate pay to Capitol doctors, and few resources.
You were more patient focused. You talked about rehabilitative care outside of the hospital. The food offered to recovering patients was poor which he could attest to. Beds were too hard, you wanted patients to be able to reach home and talk to their families more, resources were an issue for you too but in a patient care angle rather than a hindrance to your innate ability to save the injured.
You spoke passionately. It was wonderful to listen to you, Coriolanus almost felt bad that he had pushed the call button to his head peacekeeper nearly five minutes ago. He would have let you talk for as long as you liked. Sat happily without a word so long as you were speaking to him, but the Doctor would be back soon, plan B had to be set into action.
Coriolanus could see the Commander, and a string of Peacekeepers with guns as they came from across the field. It was impressive timing given that the file would have been put in the Commanders hands only a few minutes ago.
He tried to focus on you as you talked. Revell in your attention, and joy before it was ripped away.
You turn as you hear the marching
“What is going on?” Coriolanus questioned with fake outrage.
“Senator Snow, it is with great displeasure that I must announce that we have been harboring a traitor to Panem”.
“Traitor?” you gasp.
The Commander throws the fabricated file on the desk for all to see.
You take a look at a picture that had been manipulated to look as if you were talking to a man in the forest. Others show you talking to the same man in the middle of town, and rooms you had never seen before. Copies of notes in your handwriting passed Compound information along, and spoke of recruiting injured patients.
“Victorn layman. A known rebel who has been successful in many of his attacks, no doubt thanks to you”, the Commander accuses.
“I have never seen that man before, I swear”, you turn to Coriolanus with pleading eyes
“The evidence doesn’t lie”, the Commander screeched, “Cuff her, and throw her in the gaol”.
“Wait” you implore as the heavy cuffs are secured around your wrists, “I am not a traitor”.
“Commander, please. There must be a mistake”, Coriolanus felt compelled to speak on your behalf.
“If there is, Mr Snow, the committee of justice will reach the bottom of it”, the Commander promises. If Coriolanus didn’t hold control over the situation, it would have worried him. The committee of justice was very rarely, if ever, interested in justice.
Two Peacekeepers take each of your arms to push you forward. Coriolanus has to clench his fist to stop himself from tearing you free from them.
You call for him to do something as they lead you to the jail, but he watches with the needle still in his arm. The Doctor returns to see you being taken away by the Peacekeepers.
Coriolanus rips the needle from his arm, leaving it dangling as he walks away from the Doctor full of questions.
Plan B would drive you into his arms, or the grave.
Tumblr media
He lets your brew in the compound jail for a week as the committee of justice overlooks your case.
The day they declare you guilty and sentence you to death by hanging. He knew you were ready for the picking.
That night he visits you, sure that you would now see the light.
He enters the compound jail, and saw you on the floor in the furthest corner.
The jail cell was bare, apart from a toilet.
A long stretch of bars that enclosed a dirty, concrete floor. You were alone, per his request, but not even a blanket was given to you.
You look up at him as he enters. His hands were in the pocket of his coat. His shoulders were square, and his hair was neatly pushed back into small curls.
“Nurse Y/n. I hate to see you like this”.
You scramble up from the floor towards him as you speak.
“Senator Snow, I didn’t do it. I am not a traitor”, you explain.
“The evidence would suggest otherwise”
“It’s not true” you shake your head, the tears fall off your cheek, “I swear. I swear I have no idea what is going on.”
Seeing you like this felt right. He was back in the position of power. Like Lucy-Gray you were trapped where he could always find you. You depended on him for food and water.
He holds tightly onto the iron bars, and presses his face as close as he could,
“I could get you out’’.
Your face seemed hopeful. He hated to crush it moments later.
“If you reconsider my offer of the Capital”.
You rub your face with your hands. Your tears were yet to stop spilling.
“Why are you doing this?”, you sob.
“I don’t want to”. He pushes his whole body as close as he could to the bars, but you remain five feet away.
“I owe you my life. I just want to help.”
“I didn’t do it!”, you exclaim.
“Y/n, they are going to hang you for treason If you don’t accept my offer. Please. I just want to help”.
“I don’t-’ a sharp breath interrupts your sentence, “I have never- I don’t know that man.”
“It doesn’t matter. Come noon tomorrow, you’ll hang”.
“Please, don’t let them.”
You move to the other side of the bars from him. Your hand curled under the same bars, just under his hand.
“I won’t. You just have to say it”, he speaks softly and slowly, peering down at you, “Coriolanus Snow, I am yours”.
“You said I saved your life. It would make us even”.
Coriolanus shakes his head
‘’I can protect you only if you are mine. Say it’’, he demands.
You’re silent for a moment causing Coriolanus to worry that you would not accept his offer. Was he so bad that you would choose the noose over him?
“I don’t want to die”, you admit finally.
He reaches through the bars to your waist, pulling you as far as he could to him.  You keep your hands tight around the metal.
“You saved my life, let me save yours. I just need to hear those five little words”.
“I’ll go back to the Capitol?”, you asked.
“Yes, with me. Far from the noose”.
You squeeze your eyes shut, and your hands tighten around the bars, but you nod your head.
“Coriolanus Snow”, he begins for you.
You take a big breath but finally say the words he had been longing to hear.
“Coriolanus Snow, I am yours”. You repeat.
He smiles, moving his hands from your waist up to your face so he could wipe away the tears.
He brings your face as close as he could to the bars and kisses you. The bars hindered his passion. His lips would only barely press against yours.
When he pulls away he keeps your face in his hands as he speaks.
“You’ll be okay. Peacekeepers will come get you early tomorrow morning, and take you to the train. I’ll meet you there, and we’ll leave, okay? We’ll go back to the Capitol to live the life we were supposed to live”, he promises.
“Tomorrow?”, you question, “no, you said you could get me out”.
You pull back out of his hold and he returns his hands to the bars.
“I can. But if I whisk you away under the cover of night, how will that look? Like a guilty person laying down for the right man? Tomorrow it will look like they are taking you back to the Capitol for further investigation. In the Capitol I can clear your name.’’
You go further away from him, centering yourself in your cell. He wanted to reach out and pull you back but you were too far out of his grasp.
“This is my home. These people are my family” you say softly.
“And look how quickly they have turned on you. If it wasn’t for me, they would watch you hang tomorrow.”
Your eyes fill up with tears again. He had hit a sore spot.
“Hey, I am sorry. Come here”.
His hands stretch through the bars for you but you don’t move from your spot.
The tears turn into a scolding look causing him to retract himself from the bars, feeling foolish once more.
He turns to leave, but being alone in the dark cell panicked you.
“Wait”, you call out. He turns to see you reaching through the bars for him, “Don’t leave me here. Please.”
Coriolanus returns back to the cage, taking your hands in his, and kissing them.
“You stayed by my bed. I’ll stay by your cell”.
“Coriolanus. Get me out please”, you beg. You couldn’t stand one more night in the cold cell.
“Tomorrow, my love”, he comforts.
Your hands felt like ice in his hold. He should have come the first night to make sure that you at least had a blanket and pillow. He hadn’t meant for such poor conditions. What if you got sick from the damp, cold cell.
He reaches out to your shoulders. They were cold to touch. His poor sweet girl was cold and hungry. Tomorrow neither of you would be ever again.
He takes off his jacket and passes it through the bars, over your shoulders.
“Lay down”, he requests “When you wake all of this will just be a bad dream”.
You do lie down on the ground, and Coriolanus follows.
He lays down outside of the cell, but puts his hand through to hold yours through the bar.
With his spare hand he rubs your back to provide warmth and comfort until you fall asleep.
He shivers on the floor without his jacket. But it mattered little to him.
You would go back to the Capitol with him tomorrow. From there he would rise from senator to President.
You slept easy next to him. The bars separating your body from his touch. He wanted to hold you. Not only for his own gratification, but to keep you warm through the night. You had become the object of his worry. He had thought that his school-boy anxiety left as he hardened into a man, but he had instead just focused it entirely on you.
He worried that you would get hypothermia from your week in jail. Then his worry took him to your teeth. When was the last time you had got them checked? It was doubtful that there was an adequate dentist at base. He had never heard of one. What about your iron, and calcium levels? Being part of the Capitol charge surely they would ensure you were fed properly. He remembered being amazed at the food given to the Peacekeepers but that was a low bar.
He would get you checked over by his doctor once you got home. Then he would take you out for something nice to eat. Maybe, you would want to watch a show,  even if you wanted to go home and lay in bed with him that would be fine too.
He was so close to it all. After this feat, there was nothing stopping his way to the top. He would be president after a term as a senator. You would be first lady. Spend your days shopping, and organizing dinners.
He would pay you back for your kindness at his deathbed. He laughs quietly thinking that it was Lucy-Gray who showed him the path to you.
Tumblr media
When you woke the next morning, Coriolanus and his jacket were gone. Instead, a Peacekeeper greeted you by yanking you up from the floor by your arm.
You stumbled as he cuffed you and pushed you forward out of the cell.
It was early morning, but most people were already up to see you being manhandled into a Peacekeeper van.
You had no way of blocking your face to hide your shame. The van had a thin fabric roof, and doors that shut waist height.
People stared as you passed them in the van. People who had known you since you were a little girl stood as you were whisked away as a traitor.
The Peacekeeper took you to the train station as promised where you were taken out of the van by a Capitol Peacekeeper who led you to the right carriage.
Coriolanus stood by the door waiting for you. His shoulders sagged upon seeing your tears. The Peacekeeper hands Coriolanus the keys to your cuffs, stating it was his decision to release you or not.
As soon as the Peacekeeper leaves, he rushes over to you to undo the cuffs.
“Just for appearances” he comments.
“They all looked at me like I was a traitor”, you sobbed.
“When we reach the Capitol we will clear your name”, He promises, coming back to stand in front of you.
“But i’ll never see them again to tell them the truth”.
He brings you into his shoulder to cease the sound of your wailing. He couldn’t see why it mattered so much if they thought you were a traitor. You were right, you would never see them again.
“It’s alright”, he comforts.
You wrap your arms around the back of his shoulders as you cry. After a minute or two Coriolanus could no longer take it. He hated the sound of you crying. He thought he could be a fierce husband, but now he was sure to fold every time you wanted something.
You had slowed enough that he could pull away slightly to look at you. Your eyes were swollen, your cheeks and nose were red. The way you sounded, your nose was blocked from your tears.
“They will know the truth. I’ll ensure it”, he vows. “But until then you’ll just have to settle for me knowing the truth”.
He takes another step away from you, reaching for the bedroom door.
“Me, and him”, he teases.
As the door opens a small, white puppy with a large pink bow around its neck bounces out.
You gasp as you bend down to pat the dog. It jumped up at you, running in circles and then jumping up to place its paws on your knees.
“He’s yours”, Coriolanus says, “You’ll have to name him”.
You wipe away your tears, but your smile is still sad. He would have to work harder to please you.
“He’s beautiful. Thank you”, your voice is small, and hoarse from the crying.
“And there’s a whole wardrobe, and jewelry for you if you want to take a shower”, he offers.
Another misstep from a man so calculated. You rise from the floor with an angry expression.
“I am lucky you were expecting me”, you mocked.
“If I hadn’t been you would be looking at the noose”, Coriolanus spat back.
It was too late to turn back now.
His comment silenced you, and Coriolanus took the opportunity to take your hand and lead you through the bedroom to the bathroom door.
“Come on. You’ll feel better after a shower. Take your time. I’ll wait out in the common area”, he said.
You don’t answer him as you enter the bathroom.
You take a long time to join him in the common room. He had ordered morning tea, and coffee. He felt too uneasy to eat the biscuits, and small sandwiches offered so they were still available for you, but the coffee had long gone cold before you re-entered his presence.
Your hair was dripping down the dress you had put on. There were no shoes on your feet, or jewelry hanging off you. He was glad you were comfortable, but you looked uncared for. Which was not the case.
Your little dog barked upon seeing you which made you smile and say hello. Coriolanus was glad that he decided against passing the dog to the attendants. At least the dog offered an ice breaker.
“Feel better?”, he asks. He stands as you move to sit in the booth.
“Yes, thank you”.
As you sit Coriolanus moves with you. Wedging you between him and the wall.
“Your hair is still wet”, he comments.
A thick napkin is used by him to press the water out the ends of your hair.
“I had no energy to dry it”, you admit.
“Yes, I am sure this has been a lot for you”, he agrees, “but it’s almost over. As soon as we reach the Capitol that’s the end of it”.
He moves the napkin to rub it against the top to absorb moisture. It leaves your hair messy, and frizzy. He tries to fix it, gently clawing his fingernails through to soothe the uncooperative hairs.
“There” he says, “good as new”.
The dog barks as he runs around the room, exploring. Coriolanus wanted to kick it out but he knew it would upset you.
 “Are you hungry?”, he asks.
You shake your head ‘no’, and turn from him to look out the window.
He allows you your peace. The dog is too loud. He would have to get it trained, but for now it filled the awkward silence.
Looking for something to do, he straightens the table fixtures. Making sure everything was perfectly in its place.
You lean against the glass instead of on him, which annoyed Coriolanus.
The only time you broke stature was when Coriolanus picked up the dog and placed him in between the seat. He didn’t like it there after he got bored with you and whined to be put down.
Besides that you sat and stared out the window until it became night. He couldn’t get you to eat anything. You had drunk some water which made him worry less, but you wouldn’t speak to him, and he didn’t want to come across needy by constantly talking to you with no response.
He had a speech to write for an upcoming bill proposal which engaged him throughout the day, but night fell and he was ready to connect with you.
He didn’t ask as he tugged you from your seat, and back to the bedroom. You didn’t fight him as he led. Coriolanus kicks the door shut on the yapping dog, hoping it would go to sleep.
You turn to open the door to the dog, but he catches your arms to continue the way into the bedroom closest.
“Given that there are not too many leisurely trips to the districts there is only one suitable bed, so we’ll have to share”, he encourages.
He passes you a nice pair of pajamas to change into which you accept.
‘And when we reach the Capitol. What will be your excuse then?”.
He couldn’t tell if you meant it in a criticizing way. Your voice was light as if it was a joke, but even toned enough to make him consider it as a genuine question.
He tried to appease both possible situations with a humorous answer.
“Bed bugs”.
It earns a scoff in a light hearted manner. His school-boy smile returned to his face like it did when you used to sit by his bed and talk during the night.
You hum before you disappear into the bathroom to change. The smile is still on Coriolanus’s face as he dresses for bed.
He had his joy back after it being ripped from his hands since the dark days.
When you come back out you are silent once more. Your expression had changed to one of deep and unpleasant contemplation.
“Are you okay?”, he asks.
You brush past him without an answer to the door. You find it’s locked but you try and force it open. The force of the door causes the dog to begin his nonsense again.
“What are you doing?” he questions.
You looked dazed as he neared you. He gently takes your elbow and leads you back to the bed.
He lets go of you to toss the pillows around but speaks to keep you focused.
“You nearly died today. You must be feeling all sorts of emotions”.
He remembered how it felt to knock on death's door. He almost feels his scar burn under your watchful gaze.
“It was you, wasn’t it?”, you whisper.
“Pardon?”. He almost coaks upon hearing it. He knew you would figure it out with some distance, but he had planned for you to already be in love. Maybe with a child or two.
“It was you. Who planted that evidence to get me to come with you”, you state it this time round as a fact instead of a question. It made Coriolanus sweat.
“How dare you” he acts astonished, “ After everything I have done for you. How could you suggest that?”.
Something in you registers. You take a look around at the train that raced you to the Capitol. A place you became a stranger to long ago, and a place where he held all the power. There was no getting off this train. Your fate had been sealed.
You smile at him lightly, “I don’t know. I am sorry. Forget it”, you brush off, “Bridge over water”.
He pulls back the covers as he repeats your sentiment “Bridge over water”.

Doctor. Alexia putellas x reader.
Angst
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a medic of a football club, not having anything to do is considered a blessing. You are the happiest member of the team when a training session or a match goes without a hiccup. However, when an injury does in fact happen you train yourself to isolate your feelings and be as objective as possible with your patients.
As the years progressed you had a close relationship with the team, you considered all of them to be a part of the family. Especially your relationship with a certain captain you had caught a big crush for.
Being subtle about your relationship isn't as easy with Alexia being around almost all the time. You both tried very hard to keep your bodies off of each other which were successful most of the time. However, sometimes she would steal a kiss on your office, hold you waist, or just look at you with most love sick eyes when you were taping yet up.
Your relationship only got stronger during her ACL recovery. You were the chief doctor responsible for her rehab in which you did well and you were her girlfriend who held her at night when she had doubts about her career.
When Alexia first came back to the pitch you were very proud of her, you continued to support her and be there for her at every start and sub, and you celebrated the hardest when she scored.
The team didn't know about your relationship but they knew you two were close after her rehab.
Today was as usual as any other day. You started out the work day by checking out the girls, taping some of them before sending them off to the field. You would normally watch the girls train and observe if anybody was hiding an injury.
You were watching as usual when you heard a familiar scream. You ran to the field as quickly as possible.
“joder joder joder” yelled Alexia.
“ It's okay I am here with you. You are gonna be okay, is it your knee?.” You say brushing the hair out of her face.
“ No no, I am fine, just help me stand up.”
“ Ale no you need to be evaluated the way you scream, want normal and you like you are in a lot of pain.
“ I told you I am alright I need to train, just go “ she said while trying to get up and walk but she failed.
“ Alexia you are not playing another minute you either come with Me or I will bring out the stretcher. “
She complies with you after you give her a stern look.
Once you are inside your office she doesn't say a word to you but you didn't need her to, you knew she was in pain and she was afraid to show it. After examining her knee you knew that she affected the acl graft.
You sit down next to her, she is still looking at the ground and not saying a thing.
“ Amor, it's gonna be okay. I will be with you the whole way again. It's just a set back honey “
You see a tear come out of her eyes which you wipe with your thumb.
Alexia normally reacts every time you touch her but this time she was stiff and she still hasn't said a word.
You quickly get your stuff, give her crouches and take her home, leaving your responsibilities to your assistant.
When you get home Alexia goes directly to the couch and shuts down, so you follow her.
“ Ale let's go shower,we will do it together with some music just like you like.”
Still no response or even a look.
“ Okay enough babying get up right now it's not the end of the world you will get back up again.” You say hoping the thought treatment would help her snap out of it.
“ You don't know how I feel.” You barely hear her say.
“ Ale of course I do. You feel helpless, tired, and angry. That's how I feel too. yes this is happening to you but just fight for yourself just like I want to do for you.”
She doesn't respond to you but you see her close off on you.
“ Ale don't go there again. Please. Let's go shower and then we can talk.” You say and hold out your hand for her to take.
Once you are in the shower you strip her of her kit, and hold her under the warm water. You give her a few kisses before you wash her hair slowly and massage her scalp. She is still stiff under you but you continue to try and get the tension out of her body and show her that you are there for her.
Once you are done you help her back to your bed and you lay next to her.
Her acl scar is visible to you so you go directly to it and give it a few kisses. Alexia flinches at your touch but relaxed when you continue.
You give her more and more kisses.
“ Would you like to retry that thing we did the other day? I still have only a few hours left.”
She smiles at your request so you take off your robe.
“ Si . Doctora. ” She whispers.

Chapter 1:
It was an apple. A stupid apple that you swiped. Thinking that you'd be able to get away with it too. And you would've too, if it wasn't for some tall peacekeeper with a platinum blonde buzz cut spotting you.
Of course, he spotted you.
Because the universe hates you, left you alone to fend for yourself godforsaken District 8. Oh, gods, why, fucking why did you listen to your late brother's girlfriend and apply for a district transfer (when word that 8 was in desperate need for factory workers after a pox epidemic)? District 8 was even more depressing than 12.
At least 12 had foliage, woods and meadows. Lakes, streams, and creaks. Ways to naturally gather food. Fresh air.
District 8 had multiple textile factories that produced smog, run down tenant buildings, block and brick buildings crowding everything, and more cement than grass. The winters were cold and harsh, the snow and ice more then what 12 ever received. The river in the district had a large bridge over it, was more or less a landmark then a place to swim and fish. The water was most likely polluted from the textile factories.
All in all, 8 was miserable. And you were all alone in the district, working at a factory that made peacekeeper uniforms for a wage that was half of what you made back in 12 as an assistant in the apothecary. You lived in a small, crappy, worn down one room apartment that made your old wooden shack back in the Seam of District 12 look like the Taj Mahal.
Damn Ashlie for hooking up with a man so quickly after arriving in 8; for leaving you alone so that she could move in with the idiot.
Why would you expect to get away with stealing an apple? Not with your luck.
No…
You should've known better.
So, instead of begging to be let go for your crime, you just let the peacekeeper take you to his superior. You knew what awaited you, what your punishment would be. The angelic looking peacekeeper, dressed in blue fatigues and a coat that made his crystal blue eyes pop, had to know the fate he was taking you to. He looked to be a grunt, but you knew that peacekeepers (no matter their age) were just an extension of the Capitol’s cold, cruel, heartless rule.
So, no, unlike other thieves you didn't try to plead your way out of it. You just let yourself be led to the slaughter.
Tumblr media
Coriolanus hated being a peacekeeper in 8. Damn that secretary in the Capitol’s PK recruitment office for refusing his bribe. If it wasn't for that stupid bitch, he'd be in 12 right now. He’d be with Lucy Gray.
But it turns out that he wasn't meant to be sent to 12 or to be with Lucy Gray. But what he was meant for was to be tortured by the presence of Sejanus Plinth. Stupid idiot willingly signed up for 20 years in the Peacekeepers; had his rich father get him stationed in the same district Coriolanus was sent to.
District 8.
Sejanus wanted to become a medic after his PK training while Coriolanus just wanted to find a way back to the Capitol. Which meant that he needed to impress his superiors and take the officer’s evaluation exam as soon as he's eligible for it.
Private Plinth wanted to make a difference while Private Snow wanted to impress everyone; rise in the ranks in order to get sent back home to the Capitol.
So, during his day off, Coriolanus wandered the streets- looking for any opportunity to exploit; to make himself look impeccable in the eyes of the higher ups on PK Base-D8.
Sejanus was making friends with the locals, which caused Coriolanus’ skin to crawl. Why would somebody willingly befriend the filthy district scum while on their day off? Then Coriolanus remembered that Sejanus might've been raised in the Capitol with more wealth then he knew what to do with, but he was District. He was from 2 and that would always make him less, make him a dirty dog.
Sejanus could mingle with his fellow district scum all he wanted, but Coriolanus wasn't going to. No, he was better than the locals here. Had no need to befriend rats.
Coriolanus was walking in the marketplace, which in his opinion was pathetic compared to the shopping area in the Capitol's downtown, when he spotted you. He thought that you were the prettiest girl he's set eyes on (including Lucy Gray) despite you being district. So, he decided to follow you.
And right when he was about to approach you, he saw you steal an apple. Coriolanus knew by how thin you are that you're probably hungry, maybe even starving (he's no stranger to hunger; him and hunger are old friends), but he couldn't let it slide. Catching you in the act of thievery while on his day off will get him looked at favorably by his superiors. It'll be an opportunity to make a great impression.
So, Coriolanus went over to you and grabbed your arm. You looked up at him with wide eyes, realizing that you got caught. And Coriolanus couldn't help, but think that you had beautiful eyes.
But he'd worry about gazing into them later, like after he's done turning you in.
Reaching into the pocket of your coat, which was thin and worn with patches on it, he dryly said, “Did you forget to pay for your apple, pretty thief?”
You didn't say a word, just gnawed on your bottom lip as he held the apple in his hands- inspecting it. It was red, but not very large. In fact, Coriolanus felt that the apple was of poor quality. You must've been desperate to snatch such a small piece of fruit.
The fruit merchant, whose back was turned when you took the apple, turned around just in time to see the platinum peacekeeper put the apple back onto the large pile it was taken from before escorting you off.
Tumblr media
In District 12 there's a whipping post where people are tied to for floggings, but District 8 didn't have one of those. No, in District 8 a thief was made to strip (naked) and kneel in the snow while being whipped for their crime.
It was a very humiliating, degrading, and painful experience.
After your lashing was done, the peacekeeper that did it just laughed and tossed his whip on the blood stained snow next to you. You could hear the hushed pity filled whispers of the people around you as you lay on the snow, crying and in pain from your ordeal.
Your body hurts so bad. A hot pain is seering thru you as blood rolls down your back from all the open wounds left from the lashes. Your blood drips on the snow and all you can think of is how are you going to get up; get home? You can barely move and nobody's going to move an inch or lift a finger to help you.
You've been whipped for being a thief, you're poison to the citizens of 8. They'll never look at you the same way again. You were dumb enough to get caught; that means you're a liability.
“Come on, get up, darling.” You heard the peacekeeper, who had turned you in, say while crouching next to you. He helped you sit up, causing you to let out a blood curdling scream of pain.
His icy blue eyes flickered with what you thought was a mix of concern and guilt as he quickly draped his coat over you. The heavy roughness of the wool painfully scratches your open wounds, causing you to let out another painful cry.
You could feel the eyes of the district onlookers piercing into you as the peacekeeper picked you up bridal style; carrying you away from the crimson stained Snow and your pile of clothes. The crowd parts, like the parting of the seas, when the tall, platinum blonde peacekeeper walked towards the exit of the main square, where punishments were given out.
“Where am I taking you?” He asked, holding you close to him as your bleeding back stained his coat.
“Third building on 16th Street.” You told him, voice shaking from the pain.
“Stop whining, I'll get you home and cleaned up soon enough.”
“Should I be thanking you? It's your fault I got whipped so badly.”
“Well, maybe if you didn’t steal we wouldn’t of had this issue, now would we?” The pretty boy peacekeeper condescendingly asked while continuing to carry you home. “Don't do this again; I won't always be available to take care of you afterwards.”
What the hell?!...
Is he serious? What is he, a delusional sadist? He's the reason your back’s torn to shreds, he's the one that turned you in, but now he wants to take care of you. Even has the nerve to tell you not to get whipped again, because he might be too busy to help you.
What the hell’s wrong with this angelic looking devil of a man?
Coriolanus noticed how you looked at him with puzzlement in your beautiful eyes. He also noticed how pain was etched on your face. It sent a small pang of guilt into his chest, but he also felt something else. Just like the night he killed Bobbin in the arena, he felt powerful. Yes, he felt powerful that it was him that caused you pain. That by doing his job as a peacekeeper he was able to hold your fate in his hands. He also felt powerful knowing that he's the one that’s helping you; that’ll clean your wounds and bandage you up.
And the feeling of having power over you was euphoric to him. So, he decided to make you his girl in order to keep that power; that feeling he gets when exerting that power over you.
“You'll be safe with me, darling. I'll take care of you.” Coriolanus promised, only to add in. “What's your name, my pretty girl?”
His pretty girl? Is he for real right now? Oh boy… Only you would have a peacekeeper staking his claim on you after getting you whipped for thievery. If only your older brother was alive right now, he'd be laughing his ass off at your shitty luck.
“Y/N Halvir.” You simply answered, silently praying that your apartment would appear soon.
“I'm Coriolanus Snow, but you can call me Coryo since you're my girl now.” Coryo smiled at you. A smile that was too wide, showed off too many pearly white teeth, and seemed to be wicked.
You're his girl now, all because he caught you stealing an apple? Talk about a strange turn of events…

“Hey Doc, this one of the good ones?” the gruff voice of your captain called over to you without moving his head. Glancing over your shoulder, you witness his raised hand hovering over his shoulder.
Looking at the white and cream cloth material, you notice the fray of the woven bandage was not as intense as the others and softly sigh.
“You know, Cap,” you mumble beneath your breath, turning back to face your desk and sorting through your surgical equipment, “If I have to baby you each time you pick up a bandage and tell you whether it’s good to use, or we should chuck it, I’m gonna fly into a fucking rage.” Your captain Eustass Kid cackled at you, placing it into the discard pile and picking up another.
“Yeah, that’s kinda the point, you know?” he muttered beneath his breath, furrowing his brows and concentrating on sifting through the supplies. “This is fucking boring, and I should be doing other shit. Remind me why I’m doing this again?”
Pushing back your rotating desk chair, you swooshed through your office space and slammed the back of the chair against the wall in front of your captain, while remaining seated on the plush surface. Glaring down into his bowed head, he avoided your gaze with a soft grimace on his features to hide his sheepishness.
“Because I caught you with a needle in your hand, ball bearings flying through the air, and hovering dangerously close to Heat’s belly button as if to pierce it. We’ve spoken about it, you said you’d stop, and you fucking didn’t,” you chastise him, prompting him to further recoil from your fury. “So I dismissed you from your duties as captain, as is my prerogative as doctor on board, and you are to remain with me until I decide you’ve learnt your lesson.”
He grumbled beneath his breath, mimicking your voice in a mocking tone back at you, and bobbing his head from side to side. Red flashed over your features, prompting you to reach down and harshly collect his chin beneath your grip and raise his face to meet with yours. Kid looked up at you in surprise at your intensity while expecting to be met with a violent glint in your eye, and lips curled into a snarl.
In lieu of finding such an expression, he found your gaze unexpectedly perplexing. Eyes wide and partially glazed over, you held your gaze intensely against the pointed tip of his nose as a sick, sadistic grin spread across your lips.
While still holding his chin in your grip, you blindly reached down and sought out a pair of latex rubber gloves, a gauze pack, a padded plaster, and a pair of tweezers from your left breast pocket. He darted his eyes between yours, shocked as you slid off your chair and straddled his lap, pushing him down onto his back and sitting comfortably on his stomach.
“Don’t you dare move, Captain,” you warned him, your voice low and intense. He gulped, sweat beginning to pool at his temple as he continued to study your face. Your eyes bore into his nose, the sickening snap of your gloves meeting your wrist causing his mind to flood with every possibility.
“What are you-?” he began, halting as you bully his chest to lie flat down on his back with your elbow and forearm.
“Don’t you fuckin’ move,” you growl down into him, pushing all your weight against his chest and pinning him beneath your thighs. Your hands draw up to splay over his cheeks as your thumbs anchor against his nose. “It’s ready.”
“Oi, what’s ready? What’s ready?” he frantically panted, attempting to scramble back with his right arm pawing at his side. Raising your left leg, you stamped down on his right wrist and pinned him in place.
“I told you all at the last place to use the goat-milk oat soap to wash your face with, especially after donning the paints and tints you all wear,” you whispered through your teeth, grinning down at him, “Or your pores get compacted and clogged, resulting in that fuckin' thing.” You pointed with your chin towards his nose, prompting him to cross his eyes in search of the object.
Sure enough, the large compacted head of a blocked pore was swollen in a vibrant red surrounding the dark tip. The throbbing of pus beneath the surface of the welt pulsated and filled his face with a hot, achy swell.
Kid gulped, looking from the tip of his nose up to meet with your dangerous gaze. Glaring at him, you deepened your lunge and bore yourself down on him with a deep scowl to scold him with. He couldn't move, feeling pinned and helpless against your body as you place your palms on either side of his cheeks.
“I'm gonna pop it,” you whisper menacingly down at him, “And then I'm gonna wash your damn face.” Your captain did nothing to move, frozen in his place as you placed your glove-donned thumbs on either side of his nose.
“Wire is the only one who listens to me about skincare,” you whispered, testing out the taut skin with a soft press of your thumbs, “And look at him. Man’s in his forties, and he's gorgeous.” Kid frowned at your comment and winced at your pinch.
“Got a thing for the big, stoic guy, huh?” he growled out as you pressed harder against his nose, “Oi, this fuckin’ hurts. Let up a bit, would ya?” You glare at him and push your thumbs closer together as the dark tip to the welt begins to protrude from the red mound.
“I don't have a thing for any of you lot, Cap,” you glare at him, moving the gauze to collect the small amount of puss that spilled from his nose, “You're being a baby. You've had your arm blown off, your face scarred and maimed. This is nothing.”
You continued pressing, being as gentle as you could while extracting the blocked pore from his flesh. With one final press, it all came out with a ‘pop’ and a rapid spill from the welt. He groaned as you cleaned him up with gauze and cotton tips.
“There now. Was that so bad?” you coo down at him with a mocking tone. He grumbled something inaudible beneath his breath and poured at you. Continuing to clean up the small amount of blood seeping from the oozing sore, he studied your face knit in concentration.
Darting his eyes between yours before sparing a glance to how quickly you managed to pin him, he pursed his painted lips on deep thought.
“Go lay down on the cot, and put your head on the pillow,” you order him, finally releasing him from your pin and raising to your feet. He laid there for a few moments and glaring at you as you began to gather a few items and placed them beside the bench. Washing your hands thoroughly at the sink, you wipe them on some paper towel before discarding them in your waste bin.
Rising to his feet, he followed your order and laid flat on his back and stared up at the ceiling. Moving your rotating chair behind the cot, you cranked the side a few times to extend the height to hover over him. He scowled at you before his eyes widened in curiosity.
Rotating a whisking brush in a small bowl, frothy suds appeared. You gathered the lather and began to roll it in your four fingers against one another.
Kid remained silent, hypnotized by your motions as you drew your hands down to his cheeks and rubbing firmly against his face. He attempted to initially fight the hands that sought to tame him, but gave into the touch as you smoothed over his flesh with your skilled fingers.
Removing the rent tint from his lips and dark paint over his eyes, his eyelashes met as he clamped them tightly shut to avoid the sting of soap. A hot, damp towel stroked at his skin, prompting him to release a lengthy sigh at the warmth. You hummed down at him as he gave into the touch.
His shoulders relaxed their tension against the cot, his belly deflating as his back melted into the firm mattress. Captain Eutass Kid was putty beneath your hands, a small ghost of a smile rising over his lips the longer you dabbed at him. Cleansing his skin of the painted smears first, you spent time being as gentle as you could over the healing welt on the tip of his nose.
Wiping away the crust of amber-tinged plasma, you applied a small amount of cream and antiseptic to the crater on his nose. Finding a small, star-shaped patch, you opened it and placed it over the small wound. His eyes opened as he gazed his wide eyes up to meet with your concentrated expression.
“There,” you hum with a soft cock of your head. Taking a moment to yourself, you hesitate before leaning down and pressing your lips softly to the small spot over his nose. Pulling away, you narrow your eyes and tease down at him, “Was that so bad? All you have to do is wash your face every now and again and you won't-.”
“-The hell d’you kiss me for?!” your captain barked at you, immediately springing up in his seat and glaring down at your position at the head of the cot. You rolled your eyes at him and began packing up for equipment in a neat pile before turning away towards the sink.
“Sorry, sir,” you abrasively apologized over your shoulder, “Forgot that wasn’t in your care plan.” He huffed behind you before jumping off the cot and stomping over towards you. Gently shoving your shoulder with his right arm, he turned you to face him.
“What do you mean ‘your care plan,’ huh?” he spat angrily down at you, “Who’s care plan is it in? How long have you been giving them away? Why the hell isn’t it in mine?” You scoff at him while leaning your hips back on the sink behind you.
“One: I have a file for different treatment preferences, and some of those preferences involve hugs and kisses. Two: Doctor-patient confidentiality.” You fold your arms over your chest while arching your brow high at him, “Three: Since you hired me. And, Four,” you step away from the sink and hold your ground, “Do you want it to be?”
His brow was deeply furrowed, his lips curled back to reveal a deep grimace as he puffed out his chest and stared you down. From your shorter stature, you managed to look down your nose at him with an unwavering intensity. A short quiver was depicted in his grimace before it was replaced with a soft pout.
He rounded his eyes, hanging his head and slouching his shoulders. His forehead brushed with yours as he leaned down to slump against you, uttering a single word with a soft sniffle.
“Yes.”
Raising your hand, your arm wraps and cradle his neck and drawing him against your shoulder. He rubs his freshly cleansed head against the ball of your shoulder before nuzzling into your neck. You roll your eyes and gently soothe him by caressing his soft, red hair and holding him firmly in place.
“I suppose you expect a pay rise with this, huh, Doc?” his muffled voice questioned you with a soft hint of malice in his tone. You shook your head and drew his right arm around your back before hooking your other hand over his neck to rejoin the one there.
“No, Cap,” you coo at him, gently rubbing his shoulders, “This I'll do for free.”

The Mountain Is You
Ch. 1:  I've become a figment of my imagination
Dom!Ghost and Dom!Price x Sub!Reader
I'm making this one official. (Chapter 2!)
CW: Dom/sub, bondage/discipline, pain play, spanking.
Explicit/NSFW/MDNI
Tumblr media
Ghost had been the perfect introductory level Dom.  You’d started visiting the office of Life Connect 141 after a referral from a friend, and he’d had many of the qualities you’d been looking for in a partner.
He was anonymous and discreet.  With his mask on, you never had to worry about bumping into him in the grocery store or bringing your car into the shop and finding out the man operating the nut driver had whipped your ass raw and called you his perfect little dove as you gargled incoherent sounds around his fingers.
He was quiet, too, and had a way of making you feel comfortable.  His commands were issued in crisp, clipped tones that were easy to follow and get right.  Yes.  No.  That’s it.  Again?   You even heard his voice in your dreams and used it to ground yourself when you needed motivation or a tether to the present.
You replayed your most effective scenes in your mind in the same way you imagined some people pictured the ocean or listened to bird songs.
The pulsing heat of your backside tucked tightly in a pencil skirt, combined with his languid ‘good girl’ echoing through your mind, was enough to make your panties wet in the middle of a board meeting or standing on the platform at the train station.
And his aftercare was more than sufficient.  Although, to be honest, it bordered a bit on the cold side.  Rehearsed in a way that felt like he was only going through the motions.  Counting the minutes before whispering, “That’s my time, hon,” in your ear as he helped you to your feet.
He was there for you, but he didn’t need you.  It was you who sought out his services.  He’d done his job when you left feeling refreshed and confident to tackle whatever chaos awaited you in the world outside his office.  He was a professional, and you were a client.
He wasn’t cheap, either.  Your self-care budget had taken a backseat to more pressing responsibilities, and it had become more and more difficult to make an appointment.  He’d become quite popular and needed to be booked further and further in advance.  You didn’t always know if you’d be in the right headspace when he was available, but you didn’t want to give up your place in the rotation.
But it wasn’t for any of those reasons that you called to cancel your future sessions and take your name off the last-minute openings list.  He didn’t do anything wrong.  It was all you.
You’d trusted Ghost, worked up a relationship where he knew what you wanted and gave it to you exactly how you liked it, with a sniper’s precision.  At least until your latest session, when you desired something a bit...more.
Work, and life in general, had been especially stressful.  A guy you’d started seeing from the gym had turned out to be a complete creep who stood you up on your second date, and spammed your phone for three days when you didn’t accept his apology or his offer to reschedule.  And your assistant had left for an unexpected medical leave and her temporary replacement didn’t know how to answer the phone.
You were patient.  You were kind.  You were tired.  And now, on top of everything else, you needed to find a new gym.
It’d been a few months since you’d been in to see him, and you were severely overdue.  It was a recipe for disaster that, had you been a more experienced Sub, you may have been able to avoid.  Never go to bed angry?  Never visit your Dom when you were on the edge of spiraling out of control.
You were in your usual position, bottomless with your hands bound with his silk tie behind your back, ass presented to him on the faux leather sofa and your black lace panties in your mouth.  The mirror in front of you gave a view of the mirror behind you.  A 360 degree look at the crimson blood flowing hot under your fevered skin, the Hitachi vibrator strapped between your thighs and the dark figure at your back orchestrating it all.
Everything was perfect.  Except that with each crack of the leather crop against your tender surface, you didn’t get any closer to the relief you sought.  You’d hit a wall, right on the cusp of that rapture you chased like a fiend.  Like a starving animal running down a faster prey with the last of its strength.
Pain had always been a curious thing for you.  Walking barefoot on the beach, the sharp rocks and shells against the arches of your feet were tactile and exhilarating.  The punishing ache of a deep tissue massage was more satisfying than the gentle glide of hands on your skin.
There were times your whole body felt like an itch you couldn’t scratch.  That it needed to be flayed off or burned away, grown anew like antler velvet or snakeskin.
When he counted his twentieth whack, and you weren’t there yet, you whimpered with frustration.  The slickness at your core dried up, and the precipice of your orgasm disappeared from reach.  Just as you teetered at the top of the mountain, you slid back down to the bottom with a hopeless crash.
“Color, pet?”  At the unfamiliar sound of your distress, he stiffened behind you and moved quickly to pull the fabric from your mouth.
“Green,” you pleaded, tears flooding your eyes unbidden. “Please.  Give me a few more.  I was close.”
“We already did three rounds of twenty.  I can’t go any further today.”  He kept his voice hard and controlled.  “Don’t want to scar this sweet, perfect ass.”
He slipped a glove off one hand and reverently grazed his knuckles over your welting hide.
“I’m renegotiating.  Please!”  You weren’t above begging.  Not like this.  Not when your blood ran hot enough to burn and sweat dripped between your breasts in desperation.
“No.”
“You think I’m weak, is that it?  That I can’t take it?”  Your ire sprung from your helplessness.  Not the physical surrender that you’d craved, but the impotent kind that left you empty and unfulfilled.
“Careful, dove.  Talking back to me like that.”  He slid his gloved hand along your cheek to cup your chin, turning you up to look at him.  Deceptively gentle as he gritted through clenched teeth, “You know better, don’t you?”
“What are you going to do about it?”  A fresh flare of anticipation fluttered through your belly, and settled low, where your bare cunt cradled the head of the vibrator.
Fathomless eyes narrowed back at you with calculation from the openings of his mask.  The skull painted in place of his face sized you up in a fraction of a second before he let his hand fall away.
You squirmed under his scrutiny, clutching the smooth, hard plastic tighter between your thighs, rutting against the only point of contact you had left.  Willing it to be more and feel better than it did.
He sat silent, watching you struggle for what seemed like hours as your shoulders cramped and your knees shook from the constraints of your position.
“Help me?”  You begged again, running your tongue along your pouty lips.  Hungrily eyeing the zipper of his black dress pants.  “I’ll do anything you want.”
Finally, he fisted a handful of your hair, pulling tight and sharp.  The sting both too brief and too late.
“You know the rules.”  The sympathetic slant of his head and the soft honesty in his tone pulled you out of the scene once and for all.
You did know.  For all of its merits, Life Connect 141 also had its limits.  It was a business, and it came with strict guidelines.  No sex and no blood.  No exceptions.  Safe, sane, and consensual.  Sanitized and structured.
Except none of those things were going to get you where you needed to be at that moment.  So, you did something you never thought you’d do.
You tapped out, muttering your safe word and pulling the plug.  He’d never given up on you before, but the clock had run out, and any further discussion was just a waste of his precious time.
The only indication he’d even heard you was a curt nod of acceptance and a clipped, “Alright,” as he untied your hands and rubbed some life back into your arms.
“Dove?”  He was concerned, and probably looking for his own reassurance.
Too humiliated to melt into his thick, tattooed arms, or to accept his offered ice pack for your battered backside, you simply dressed silently and shook him off with a faked smile.
“I’m fine.  Really.  See you next time.”  With not an ounce of truth.
You didn’t know the etiquette for breaking up your Dom, so you were surprised when you got a call barely an hour after you’d canceled.  Thinking it was a last ditch sales pitch to keep you as a customer, you let it go to voicemail.
But instead of a generic, “What can we do to keep your business,” you were greeted with Ghost’s voice instead.
“It’s me.  I’m just sorry that things ended the way they did.”
Why was he apologizing?  You’re the one who'd made a fool of yourself.  Pushing him for things he couldn’t give you.  As if you were more than just a transaction to him.
“I’d like to take you out for a drink.  There’s someone I’d like you to meet.  He can do more for you than I can.  I think you’ll like him.  I wouldn’t trust my best girl with just anyone.”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at that, even as it curled your toes.  He probably said that to all his Subs.
“Call me back.  Please?  His name’s John.”

Clone File: Morbs (YukiPri OC)
Basic info:
Name: Morbs Number Designation: CC-4413 Generation: 1 (0.9) Rank/Title: Chief Mortician of the GAR, Kamino Chief Mortuary Trainer (former) GAR Affiliation: Entire GAR, primarily stationed with the 212th Attack Battalion Character status: YukiPri Original Character
Disclaimer: Morbs' story will likely make more sense if you've read The Prime Override, as he's introduced with context in this fic. He will also make more sense if you've read about the other 2 clone medics mentioned in this file, Ashe and Stabber.
Backstory beneath cut!
Overview:
Clone morticians are specialists even among medics. Every clone medic knows the basics of how to care for the deceased, but in war, priority must always go to the living. As such, it is common to find only one clone mortician per star destroyer or permanent GAR base, with greater numbers stationed in Tipoca City or various Republic medical centers.
Morbs, or CC-4413, is considered the Chief of this group of medical specialists. He is the originator of the division, and was assigned to develop both the position and the training curriculum of clone morticians in tandem with Ashe’s primary medical training.
Prior to the start of the Clone Wars and through the early war period, Morbs oversaw the Tipoca City Primary Clone Morgue, which processed all clone bodies. There, he managed biopsies, distribution of cadavers, and the care and processing of all of the bodies of his deceased brothers. He also trained other clone morticians who had completed general medical training prerequisites and were approved by Ashe, as well as future Chief Medical Officers who were required to have completed hands-on training time in the morgue to earn their certifications.
Morbs would have been content to remain in this morgue for life, but as the main body of the GAR prepared for deployment, it became clear that the number of bodies being processed on Kamino would plummet. Morbs was reassigned to the front lines, where his expertise would see more active use, leaving his morgue behind in the hands of his assistants. He primarily travels with the 212th Attack Battalion, but frequently visits medical centers and goes where he is needed.
Background:
Morbs was one of five Generation 0.9 CCs selected by Nala Se to begin the development of the clone medical track. While all subsequent medics are CTs, the Generation 0.9 CCs underwent manual age acceleration, putting them physically ahead of their Generation 1 peers in chronological age. Morbs and his fellow CCs were test subjects used to establish the start of the medical specialization path before their younger brothers were of age to begin that training.
As CCs, they are overqualified for the general medical training that Nala Se is building, and Nala Se quickly turns to using them for other experiments as well. Their unique position as the first experimental medical clones gives Nala Se more oversight over them than any other clones, with far less supervision as well. They are “her” clones to test as she pleases.
In the depths of her labs, Nala Se conducts experiments that she had been banned from conducting on standard troopers by the contract with the Prime Clone, Jango Fett. Morbs later learns that these tests would be considered “torture,” and are illegal in the Republic. He and his brothers are tested for the physical limits that clones can reach, including tolerance for exposure to various stimulants such as heat or chemicals, as well as sensory limits such as their maximum threshold for pain. She also experiments with the potential for building up tolerance and even immunity to various drugs and poisons. She takes all of the data she gains and incorporates them into the medical training for the clones—thus, ensuring that her tests still fall under the scope of “developing medical training.”
Two of the five CCs perish as a result of these experiments. Ashe is ordered to decommission the third when he fails to meet Nala Se’s standards. This leaves Morbs and Ashe as the only survivors of their initial group. They cannot speak of their experiences to anyone else, as Nala Se is the only other witness. Not even Kote knows what they experienced. Between the two of them though, they can never forget that their senior medical positions were earned with blood.
Morbs has always been a quiet but keen observer, and knew from early on that Ashe has reasons for wanting to be in the medical track, and that this is a path that he’s chosen and is motivated to push through. Morbs is brought into the Ghosts’ plans relatively early, and having had the most first-hand experience seeing just what Ashe’s position entails, he wishes he could do more to help his brother. However, Morbs is also realistic, and knows that he doesn’t have the same passion and dedication driving him. He does what he can, but he can’t see himself being the medics’ leader that Ashe is. He feels guilty for not being able to offer to take Ashe’s place, when he’s the only one in a position who could. He tries to make up for it by loyally following him, and doing what he can as a supporter.
In addition to not having the drive, Morbs also feels he is cursed with misfortune. While he excels as a medic and not even Nala Se can find anything lacking in his record, most of the patients that Morbs touches seem to end up dead for reasons unrelated to his skills as a medic.
He’s assigned to oversee a group of cadets, who end up having a fatal genetic mutation that gives them all heart attacks while he’s on observation. The wing with patients that he oversees collapses due to an architectural problem, and they all die. He’s conducting a surgery, when the power goes out, and he’s unable to save his patient with the tools he has available. He tends to some brothers, who leave his exam room fine, but are killed in a training accident a few hours later. He’s assigned to take over a simple check up, and finds his patient already dead before he enters the room.
Every additional incident makes him increasingly uncomfortable with working with living patients. He knows he has the skills, but it doesn’t seem to matter, because most of his patients end up dead anyway. Statistically, it’s not impossible, but after a certain point it’s certainly improbable, and yet it continues to happen. Clones are rarely superstitious, as they have no cultural basis for it, but Morbs feels that there’s something absurdly wrong with the amount of death that seems to follow him everywhere.
He only feels that he’s safe for his brothers when working with those already dead. He can’t kill them if they’re dead before they’re even assigned to him. When Nala Se announces that a new mortuary sub-track will be added to the primary medical track, Morbs dives for it because he can’t think of a better position for himself. If death follows him, he might as well embrace it.
As he and Ashe are given more access to resources including those from outside of Kamino to help them develop their respective training curriculums, Morbs finds himself increasingly interested in not just the practical aspects of death, but also the more cultural and spiritual elements as well. It’s sparked by his own unluckiness and wondering if others have experienced the same, but is fed by his curiosity when he realizes that most nat-born cultures have different ways of processing death and grief that are deeply engrained in how they handle their dead. Nat-born lives are for the most part extremely foreign and utterly irrelevant to anything clones will likely ever experience, but death is almost universal. Morbs finds this fascinating.
The clones are brusquely told that they “march on,” when they die, as Mandalorians do. But why? Where do they march to, with whom? What is waiting there? If that is the inevitable eventual fate of all of them, regardless of Ashe’s or Kote’s efforts, shouldn’t it perhaps be Morbs’ job as the Chief Mortician to at least consider what happens after?
While Morbs has no answers for the afterlife, he certainly has many thoughts, which he shares with the silent cadavers who he works with. It seems like they can hear him, he thinks, for all that none of his words are spoken out loud.
While sitting in on a Ghosts meeting as they develop code words for their growing underground organization, Morbs mentions off-hand that their brothers who are dead, but aren’t, are, “Marching on to join Kote.”
It’s not his fault that their overseers failed to really explain what “marching on” means, nor really instill any true understanding of “glory” either. So if they choose to define it for themselves, with “marching on” meaning to join their other brothers (who may or may not be dead), and “glory” as fighting for their brothers, something tangible that they actually understand and care for…well. They are, after all, supposed to die for the glory of the Republic anyway. No one will question the language.
While most of Morbs’ brothers are exceedingly practical, and must be, Morbs finds his niche in thinking about the not practical. If having ways of respecting and mourning the dead helps all other sentients, why shouldn’t it help them too? Morbs experiments with how he thinks their dead should be treated, and the bodies in his morgue are, as always, his silent audience.
He grows to consider the dead bodies in the morgue “his men” in “his army.” After all, those who are also marked dead, but are actually just with the Ghosts, are also allowed to “consider serving” despite being equally dead on record. And are not the bodies that he repurposes to hide the missing bodies, the dead whose organs and limbs save the lives of their living brothers, not also serving their brothers? Just because they were unlucky, like Morbs, doesn’t mean that they aren’t still being helpful, aren’t still actively saving their brothers. Because that’s all what any of them want to do: help each other.
Morbs assigns himself their Commander, as he is in charge of them, cares for them, and directs their “campaigns.” The rows of cold lockers that house their bodies are “barracks.” He talks to them, praises their missions, and grieves for them when they finally march on to their second deaths via cremation, only after which they are truly gone.
While none of Morbs’ students go to quite the same level as Morbs himself in humanizing their deceased brothers, he makes sure that all of them leave his morgue with a firm understanding that even when dead, their brothers are still their brothers. Pieces of his ideology and treatment of bodies linger in all of the medics who handle their dead.
Morbs treats the dead as his men because he wants them to be able to live on just a bit longer, but admittedly that’s not all. It’s something that also helps with his guilt over not being able to assist Ashe in his decommissionings. He can’t stop those deaths any more than Ashe can, and he can’t even share in the pain of murdering them. But he can promise them, and can promise Ashe, that once their bodies leave Ashe’s blood-stained hands, that Morbs will welcome them gently to his morgue. That they’ll be treated tenderly, with humanity, and that their existences won’t mean nothing. That if they’re capable of it, Morbs will do whatever he can to ensure that they too can serve Kote before their bodies are gone.
Morbs likes to think it offers Ashe some comfort.
General Info:
Most clones have only ever heard of Morbs, who is extremely elusive. Even after deployment, he rarely leaves the morgue wing attached to medical. Whereas Ashe feels a complicated mixture of self-loathing and knowing that he’s unwelcome in other spaces because all other clones loathe him too, Morbs is simple. He likes being with his men, they’re his favorite group of clones. The living get plenty of attention amongst each other. He just is happier with his own men, and prioritizes giving them his own attention.
He’s eccentric and more than a little creepy, but his reputation means that many of his brothers are very curious about him. He has a strict “no one alive past this line” rule at the entrance of the morgue, with very few exceptions, so not even those who try to catch a glimpse of him while visiting medical have much luck. Spotting him outside the morgue is both like an exciting cryptid sighting, but also potentially a bad luck omen. Morbs is oblivious to the excitement his presence causes, as he’s usually just in a rush to get back to the morgue.
Morbs is so mysterious that only a very limited handful of his brothers knows how truly odd his habits are. He has an assigned bunk, but ignores it and sleeps in a specially padded cold locker so that he can “sleep in the barracks with his men.” He calls it his favorite bunk, and tells the other medics he wants to rest there when he one day inevitably dies. He will sometimes forget to take care of himself, ignoring his own living needs to eat, drink, exercise, hygiene, etc. until a medic, usually Stabber, drags him out of the morgue to handle it. Stabber thinks Morbs is an example of how truly unfair their genetic enhancements are, because Morbs somehow maintains his solid CC-class physique with essentially zero effort on his part.
Unlike Ashe, who wants to be out in the field, Morbs never wants to leave his morgue for anything. Once he has been relocated into the morgue on the Negotiator, he only steps out when absolutely necessary. He doesn’t want to see the sights of the outside galaxy, doesn’t want to see the people or try the foods. He thinks all air outside of the morgue that is not optimized for the preservation of clone bodies is distasteful. He especially hates heat, sunlight, and humidity, insisting that it will “cause us to decay faster.”
The one exception to this is if there is a morgue, funeral, cemetery, or something else death-related going on. He learned about other cultures’ death practices, and he’s admittedly still curious about them too, mostly in the context of whether there’s anything else he can do to improve the experience for his men. If the ship is planetside and there’s supposed to be a famous cemetery, he might be seen quickly slinking outside, face completely veiled to avoid exposure to the elements.
Relationships:
Morbs maintains a close relationship with Ashe, though it’s one he’ll rarely show in front of others, always maintaining a professional distance if they have company. But Ashe is the only living person that Morbs will seek out for company, always while Ashe is alone. Morbs is the only one who knows the extent of what Ashe suffered during his early training, and had experienced much of it with him. He is concerned about Ashe, but doesn’t offer medical help, as he feels Stabber does that enough, and he doesn’t trust himself to think of Ashe as a patient; that never ends well. He will instead offer Ashe silent company.
Morbs claims to despise Stabber, especially since he’s the one responsible for taking him away from his morgue on Tipoca City and forcing him onto a star destroyer. Because Stabber is the CMO of the 212th, prior to Ashe joining them, Morbs is forced to interact with him the most. Morbs doesn’t like Stabber because he considers the other medic, “far too alive.” Stabber’s high energy, movement, and noise levels all grate on Morbs’ preference for stillness and darkness. Still, he reluctantly respects Ashe’s former assistant’s skills as a medic, and will follow his orders.
He also won’t admit it, but Stabber was the one who gave him his name. Stabber had a habit of announcing that Ashe’s work buddy “has the morbs,” a phrase he’d picked up from one of Ashe’s training resources that he claims means “has emo vibes.” Stabber liked the sound of the word so much that he began shouting it every time he encountered Morbs, and it ended up sticking. Morbs pretends he doesn’t care, but secretly thinks it’s fitting.
On the other hand, Morbs has a surprisingly amicable relationship with the Jedi he interacts with most frequently, Obi-Wan. He was very leery of letting Obi-Wan come anywhere near the morgue, not trusting an outsider with his delicate men who are unable to defend themselves. However, Obi-Wan found Morbs’ ruminations and philosophies fascinating, and was easily able to bait him into a conversation by expressing interest. Despite being surrounded by war, Morbs often seems strangely detached from it, preferring to speak less about the realities of war and the gears that move it, and more about why various cultures frame death and the afterlife in certain ways. While the conversations are often melancholy in nature, Obi-Wan appreciates the strange normalcy of it, knowing that Morbs would likely have these same questions regardless of whether there was a war. Morbs likewise is invested in hearing about death traditions from an outside perspective.
While the other clones aboard the Negotiator were at first both morbidly fascinated by Morbs, they were discouraged from actually interacting with him because he says things like, “You should not be in here, unless you are dead. Unless you would like to be dead, in which case I can help you,” or, “Oh, well you don’t look like you’re dying. How unfortunate.” However, they gradually realize that Morbs is not as aloof as he first appears.
He isn’t opposed to speaking, as long as it’s about his men. They realize that while Morbs refuses to let any curious bystanders or unqualified personel enter the morgue for no reason, he’s always eager to learn more about those in his care. Clones who have lost brothers can always count on him wanting to hear about the deceased, and if they’re present in his morgue, Morbs may even allow them to visit. When the first clone brings Morbs some flowers, because he saw that some nat-borns planet-side were laying flowers by the graves of their lost loved ones, Morbs is tickled by the action. Clones are not granted proper graves, and those in Morbs’ morgue are still “on duty.” But Morbs creates a little sterilized shrine in a corner of medical close to the morgue, where he collects these offerings and allows his brothers to visit. If the tablet Morbs laid there is turned a certain way, Morbs knows that one of his brothers wishes to speak to him about someone deceased, and he slinks out of the morgue to listen to them.
Because Morbs is the Chief Mortician, he not only processes the bodies that pass in front of his own hands, but he obsessively goes over the reports sent to him by all other clone morticians and standard clone medics, who are in charge of marking all final fatalities. As such, he has the most comprehensive knowledge of all deceased clones. On the rare occasions that they are able to conduct larger, collective remembrances, if Morbs is available, he will often be called to lead them.
Obi-Wan observes that Morbs is acting almost like a priest or other religious leader, but Morbs scoffs at the idea. He has no intention of leading a religion; he just cares about his men.
And all of the clones will join his army, one day.
Appearance:
Morbs wears a modified version of the clone mortician uniform, a black version of the standard softshell white medic uniform. As the Chief Mortician, Morbs wears a longer knee-length version of the uniform, along with a black kama over it to signify his CC status. He also has a rank bar, and red shoulder pieces to show his personal training from Nala Se, like Ashe and Omega. He technically has armor, but he’s never worn most of it since his fitting, and he doesn’t plan on wearing it either. His men serve without wearing armor, so why should he? If the ship is ever boarded, he intends on going down with his men in the morgue, a plan that no one will allow him to follow through on.
The one piece of armor he does occasionally wear is his helmet, which is a black version of Ashe’s. He must occasionally process bodies that have been exposed to hazardous conditions, and in these cases, he’ll don his helmet for its filtration and advanced sensors. He is so utterly uninterested in his own armor that it was left unpainted, and Ashe decided to paint it black for him, so it can match Morbs’ aesthetic preferences. While Morbs never acknowledged the gesture, he shows his appreciation by not protesting when he’s told to wear it.
After leaving Kamino, he grows his hair long and wears it loosely tied back, because as a non-combatant, he isn’t limited to practical hair styles. The exact length changes constantly as he uses his own hair to create wigs and patches for any of his men who may have had their own hair damaged. He refuses to share his hair with anyone who isn’t dead.
He also gets tattooed, two dark lines dripping down his cheeks from his eyes. He saw nat-borns with the look in some funerary documentaries he watched as a cadet. He doesn’t know that what he saw was nat-borns with running makeup, but he likes the look because it looks like a trail of permanent black tears on his face. He takes it to be a metaphor that he is always thinking of his men.
Morbs also has deep permanent bags under his eyes. This is due to a mix of him constantly forgetting that he needs sleep, along with him not wanting to sleep because he has so many thoughts to ponder.
While he usually just wears his uniform, he has a veil that he throws over his head whenever he has to step outside of the ship or Republic medical facility for any length of time. He also has an ornamental headdress he’s fashioned for special occasions, such as when he has to welcome an exceptionally large number of men to his army, is conducting a field cremation, or is leading a remembrance. The headdress is created from shards of plastoid armor he’s had to pull from his men.
Note:
Morbs’ designation, CC-4413, was chosen because the number 4 means “death” in many Asian cultures, due to how it sounds similar to “death” in many Asian languages, including but not limited to my own Japanese/Chinese cultures. Tetraphobia, or the fear of the number 4, is a thing! The number Thirteen is an unlucky number in other cultures. The number “4413” felt fitting for this character who is so immersed in death and bad luck!

MY MEDICAL SCHOOL IS RENAMING A ROOM AFTER TRANSPHOBIC, ANTI-PALESTINE ASSHOLES - PLS SIGN THIS PETITION AND HELP US STOP IT FROM HAPPENING!
LINK TO PETITION
Hello everyone. I’ve been seething these days because the medical school I go to is renaming a room after some transphobic, racist and misogynistic texas congresspeople that assisted our school with obtaining federal funding (basically making it so that student doctors don’t have to pay as much tuition, which really helps out low-income medical school students.) They are texas state senator Creighton and representative Metcalf.
HOWEVER as nice as this assistance was, I am vehemently against the naming of the room after these clowns.
1. Senator creighton supports legislation that is vehemently Anti-Healthcare.
Tumblr media
these are some of the “certain treatments” prohibited for trans kids btw:
Tumblr media
just purely hateful, knowing that gender confirming care SAVES THE LIVES OF TRANS CHILDREN. and we are training to be DOCTORS. with the goal of NOT ending lives. extending them even. there’s an oath about it and everything.
ALSO— NAMING A ROOM IN A MEDICAL SCHOOL AFTER A DUDE THAT OPPOSES CHILDRENS HEALTHCARE IS INSANE
2. BOTH creighton and metcalf are pro-israel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again. We’re a medical school. training doctors to help people live longer, healthier lives. we do not support genocide.
I don’t even understand how making bills like this is even fucking allowed.
3. helping their representative community is their fucking job. We literally Voted Them Into Office For This Purpose. They are otherwise useless.
Honestly, their voting record gets worse. You can verify metcalf and creighton’s voting records at the links on their names.
the petition also has a much clearer and cleaner explanation about why this means so much to our school.
I know this feels like a relatively minor thing, but it means a lot to us. We want our school to be represented by those with a positive outlook on humanity. not a hateful one.

Part 1 | Previous, Next | Headcannons, Masterlist
Tumblr media
A knock on your door brought you out of your stupor. You'd been half asleep, having finally been able to get some rest after throwing up half of your dinner from the night before.
It was barely 5, so theoretically no one should really be bothering you. Gaz had your squadron to do some combat situations, and he knew exactly what to do with them. They were especially feisty.
When you'd opened it, you weren't entirely sure what to expect. Maybe Simon? Or Soap, or Price? Maybe Gaz?
Definitely not the officer standing at your door, holding a few items. Neither of you spoke for a few moments, just staring at one another. He didn't seem to expect you, and you were just scared. You felt your heart sinking into your stomach.
He spoke your name to you and you nodded, feeling like you were staring through him. "I'm so sorry," and from there you didn't remember anything. Just a few words, the handing over of the few items of his they recovered before another apology.
You closed the door, staring at the dog tags sitting in your hands. You read his name, written on the dirty tag. When you took it into the bathroom and washed it, you felt the metal warm up like you'd just taken it off of Simon.
Waking up the next morning left you feeling hungover. Head throbbing, mouth dry and just feeling sick overall. You weren't sure of anything over the next few days, moving like you were a puppet being controlled.
There weren't any tears, there wasn't anything. You didn't feel anything. You avoided the pack- his pack. Staying away from the main areas they'd go, you found yourself staying within the medical areas, your office and your room. You ignored everyone outside of your squad.
So when there was a knock on the door, you hadn't thought twice of calling the person in. You and Sadie, one of the two Omegas you were training, had been talking and slowly becoming what you almost considered a friend.
"You can't keep hiding from us," Price said to you and you froze. Your chest seized, eyes shutting harshly. You didn't want to even think. "You've got his dog tags on," he whispered, rounding your desk and standing beside you.
It took a few weeks, but you had eventually cleared Price to walk without assistance. And he was abusing his ability to slowly get back to normal.
A sob tore through your chest and you felt everything hit you. Anger, for Simon doing this to you. Sadness, how you realized all you had left was the pup. You didn't want to believe he was gone, but he was. The tags around your neck proved it.
Price pulled you in close, resting his head atop yours as you wailed. You could feel the tears and snot, maybe drool coating his shirt as you grasped onto him. Hoping that he would be able to fix everything. He was the pack Alpha, he was supposed to know what to do.
Rocking you a little, just slightly side to side, he hummed against you. Allowing you to cry everything out, feeling as you slowly grew limp. The wails turned to sobs, sobs turned to hiccups before it was just shaky breaths. All you could think the entire time was 'he's actually gone'.
Pulling your face away from his chest, he gave you a small smile. "He's only assumed KIA," he whispered and you blinked at him. "We never got a body," he told you. You tugged your head free of him, could feel your eyelashes sticking uncomfortably together.
"He might not be dead?"
"Don't get your hopes up, kid," he gave you a little pat on the head. "Don't allow yourself to wallow in pity, let us take some of the pain off of you. We lost a packmate, just as you lost a mate," he whispered and let himself out.
All you could do was sit in your office, blinking slowly and feeling nothing at all. You didn't think it was possible to feel nothing after losing someone, but the little hope Price had given you felt like nothing at all.
They couldn't recover his dog tags without a body, could they?
As time wore on, and they were slowly losing hope on finding Simon, you eventually broke the news. You'd called the pack into Price's office, feeling it was best to break it there. Somewhere he could control reactions as best as possible.
When Gaz finally entered, closing the door behind him you looked at the three around you. You breathed deeply, completely unsure how to go about any of this.
"I'm pregnant," well, that's how you broke it to them. It wasn't how you were expecting it, but that's how it happened. None of them said anything, they all just stared at you.
Soap was the first to respond, pulling you into him and pressing his head against your abdomen. "Really?" He'd whispered and you nodded, wrapping your arms around him as best you could.
You all stayed quiet, it felt like you were both grieving the loss of Simon but hoping the best for the pup you were going to be responsible for.
And they made sure to help. Price would help you during the nights when you felt the worst. The loneliest. He had claimed to be responsible, 'I'm the pack leader after all'.
Gaz dragged you out of your nest, forcing you to go for walks with him or eat with everyone else in the mess hall. He would come by every so often, just to check up on you or interact with you. 'Givin' you a little bit less monotony, huh?' You enjoyed when he came by, it made you a little less lonely.
Even with everything that everyone did, Soap seemed to grow the closest with you. He'd insisted on joining you when you'd gone to the doctor to be able to get vitamins and other medications. He insisted on making sure you didn't have to be alone in the mornings after Price had left to deal with Captain stuff, helping you through the sickness.
You just wanted Simon. As much as you appreciated everything they were doing, they weren't Simon. You had been able to get into his room one night, after the fourth week of him being missing. It took you this long before you could get yourself to enter his room.
When you did, you had to choke back tears. His scent wafted over you, just slightly becoming stale but still there. His bed was made, pristine as ever, and you found yourself building a nest slowly.
In his closet, you'd buried yourself in layers of his blankets and clothes. Shirts and hoodies, some left unwashed being the closest you could get to his fresh scent.
All you wanted was to be alone. For once, you didn't want anyone near you, you didn't want to talk to anyone. Being snappier to people seemed like the way to get them to leave you alone. Stay colder with people.
No different than Simon, you figured. Not too much different than how he would perform, if it had been you. How similar to him were you becoming? Pushing people away, going through shit on your own? Not talking?
So you filled your time with work. You didn't give yourself much time to sleep, barely enough time to eat and take care of yourself. You didn't want to think, and you didn't allow Gaz to pull you away. No matter how hard he tried.
A few days latter, you'd been working on helping one of the recruits patch up a simple wound in the medical center. Your squad had finally graduated to helping there, and so you'd been using them to help. When you'd cleaned your hands of the blood that caught on them, you saw Price standing by the front desk.
Venturing over to him, checking in with some of your squad to make sure they were alright, you found him looking through papers. Files. You recognized one of the names, Sadie.
"What's that?"
"Is there anyone you recommend for a reconnaissance mission, Doc?"
Once more, you were sitting on the chopper. Soap had to sit this out, as his stitches still hadn't quite healed up from the emergency surgery. So there was one more spot open for you to join, and you had opted for Prices choice of your squad.
Sadie 'Trip' Thomason. She had been lovingly given the callsign Trip because of her first attempt at running a course. She ate complete shit, and continued to somehow trip every single course. Even ones that were on level ground.
You loved the kid, but she was a klutz. So you joined on the mission, nor wanting her to be alone for her first one. She wasn't much different from you.
As the chopper landed, you were surprised by the fact you weren't taking fire. They had decided to use a shit ton of people for this mission, so whoever they were rescuing was important. Yourself, Trip, and another squad leader and one of their people had joined.
Enough medics to perform a surgery.
You and Trip stayed behind, prepping an area for emergency medical attention. It was mostly because you were pregnant, but you were one of the most skilled medics they'd had.
"Hey Doc, you wanna know something?" Gaz called through the coms. You hummed in response, moving quickly through the chopper. "My boyfriend left me because I was too mysterious. Or did he?" You snorted at that, feeling your chest tighten just a little.
You knew of Simons whole dark and dad joke schtick. You never really got to hear it, but he sometimes said them to you. During lunches and dinners with you. Before everything fucked up.
"Did the lieutenant rub off on you, Gaz?" You'd asked back and he made a little jab at you, snickering about how dirty it sounded. God, you'd hit him if you could.
Trip had nudged you, wiggling her eyebrows at you at that.
"You and the lieutenant have something going on, then?" You rolled your eyes, trying to bite back the tears that were trying to force themselves from your eyes.
Looking over at her, you gave a little smile. "He's my mate," she gave a little gasp, nudging you even more. You shook your head. "He's assumed KIA, though," you whispered, glancing out to the dark tree line. You were wondering who it was that took this much manpower to bring home.
There wasn't a shot in hell you were going to get your hopes up and think it was Simon. No chance. In the time you'd been thinking, Trip had finished off prepping for quick medical attention and you'd come back to.
You started to prep for possible surgery when gunshots began echoing around you. "Prep the chopper for liftoff!" Gaz shouted through the coms and you checked the pilot to make sure he'd heard but watched as he began pressing buttons.
The ground quaked under you as it began preparing to lift, your supplies starting to shake and nearly fly off. Trip fell trying to save items and you had to shout at her to leave them over the chopper blades.
"But we need them!" You shook your head, gesturing around you.
"We're about to take off, we have enough backup supplies to replace them! It'll take too long to collect them, they're not too sanitary anymore!" You shouted back, grabbing her vest and strapping her in to the helicopter. "Do not fall!" You shouted, tugging on the rope keeping her set.
She nodded and began to try and reset the area, only bringing out the items that could be held down or were heavy enough to hold themselves down. Glancing out, you could see figured running towards the chopper, one thrashing around.
"We've got a feral Alpha, Doc! We need to sedate him!" You watched as four people dragged the Alpha closer, hear the snarls he was letting out. Leather. Tobacco, heavy musk and sweat. Your heart started pounding harder and harder, vision tunneling.
Shaking your head, you stumbled back into the chopper. "You can't sedate a feral Alpha," you whispered into the coms, watching as the man you called your Mate tried to fight off the men dragging him onto the chopper.
They'd found rope and tied his arms together. All you could do was stare, see the man you loved brought down into ferality. It was different than a feral rut, the amount of androstenone filling him was lethal. His body was in a state of fight or flight, so there was no chance it could turn into a rut.
He was fighting.
With one step forward he snarled at you, eyes blown black from his pupils. His scent was different, just barely, but you couldn't work on him in this condition. You could feel yourself panicking, staring at Simon but not quite Simon. Gaz came around, tugging you away from the man lying tied on the floor of the chopper.
"Talk me through it," he whispered. "Why's he feral?" You blinked up at Gaz, swallowing as your mind reeled.
Looking to the side, you could see Trip sneaking glances at you. "Androstenone," you whispered. "He's got too much of it in him, but he's in fight or flight so instead of being in a feral rut, he's just feral," you whispered.
"And how do we help him?"
"I don't know," you whispered.
Back on base, Price had found you. You didn't even want to look at him, not with how he'd lied about what the mission was. It wasn't just a reconnaissance mission, you were quite literally sent to rescue your mate.
He was put in a high secure containment cell. He was literally knocked out to be checked out, a few different medics and highly esteemed surgeons being called in to do emergency surgeries. Emergency blood transfusions. It seemed like everyone on base was trying to help, offering their blood to the man.
All you could do was sit in his room, playing with the dog tags that you'd put around your neck some months ago. Between the time they'd rescued Simon from the time your test had been, it was around two months.
God, you were two months along with his pup and he didn't even know it. Would he recognize you? Your scent? Or had it changed with the new hormones that had flooded your body.
You were terrified, wanting nothing more than to have Simon in your nest, hold him close and never let him leave again. But that's not how the real world worked and you had to get back to work.
The next few days you were extremely distracted. "I asked for more pain meds," one of the patients told you.
"No, you didn't," you said and they looked at you lost. You blinked slowly, trying to process what they'd actually said. Can I get more pain meds? "Sorry," you whispered and turned around, calling for one of your trainees and having them give him for pain meds.
It continued like that for a while. You answered phone calls from people just asking some basic questions about whether they should or should not come in to the center for. Sometimes you'd hung up on people instead of putting them on hold, sometimes you just said words that combined and had to repeat yourself three times.
There was a sudden influx of people for a short while, and each of them had been clawed or bitten by something. Someone?
It took a little while, but Price had eventually found you. "Lot of people being attacked, huh?" You blinked at him.
"What's happening?"
"They're trying to figure out how to bring Simon out of the feral mindset he's in," he whispered, looking away. You looked at him, not being able to say anything. "We need your help,"
