Phy CHAT 1
Pooma Begam.
Initiator
Let us have a small discussion Today Please present your opinion here....
➖
Q: Why the upcoming generation today are feeling that Physics is a hardest subjects... Most of the school students opinion Is this .... What is the reason behind it?....
Let us have a discussion...
➖
VIEWS:
1. Mr Debabrata Biswas
2. Mr. Shyam Gupta: Here is the reason
Mr Debabrata Biswas UNV: Good Morning, Edu Leaders and Physics Educators !
No, Sir ... Not necessarily ... Maybe in a few cases ...
As Physics Learners, we all know that 'every word is relative.'
I just shared ...
➖
3. Mr Sujeet: Statement is relative
Eng is of course easier ..
Main comparison is between Physics and Chemistry.
As per my opinion, a chemistry teacher can give a statement that ncert se bahar kuch nai aayega.
No need to do anything else, just do ncert and its sufficient. It gives child a confidence that Chem is easier.
In physics if a child ask what to do, defining of content becomes difficult.
As per my opinion, the quality of the book and in exams questions are not directly coming from the ncert exercise and still you need to do such a vast book that makes physics difficult from the students point of view and then if you score less than 95 fir to ..
➖
4. Ms Shilpa Agrawal Vishnoi
Dear Teachers
Physics is hardest subject felt by students.
This statement sounds to be true. Reason being any topic in physics can be asked in any form of a question like Derivation
Numerical
Conceptual
Case study
Diagrams or graph
Statement or definition
Unit or dimensions
MCQ
Assertion reason
No topic in phy is a repetition in 11th and 12th
Different branches of physics students have to prepare.
Whereas in Chem maths bio
11th and 12th syllabus has some continuity.
Physics preparations require
Mathematical knowledge like integration differentiation trignometry geometry algebra
Chemistry knowledge like atoms nuclei dual nature thermodynamics
Bio students get instantly frightened with physics.
➖
5. Mrs. Buvana: Yes....closely related mathematics...from beginning maths is difficult subject
➖
6. Mr. M Hilal: So for my experience is concerned that most of the topics in physics need imagination , lack of imagination by students or non ability of teacher to make students imagine the model makes it difficult
Secondly the physics teacher must follow the sequence in making a topic to understand
➖
7. Dr Sekar Srinivasan : Physics is supposed to be the origin of all sciences includingmathematics and engineering, medical sciences. So your viswas in Physics is great and requires more effort in understanding the concepts. Hence it appears but once you start learning the correct nuances of Physics you will start enjoying it and explain everything in the universe be it materialistic or metaphysical .
➖
8. Ms. Tharunnya Mangatt:
Visualisation
Application
Understanding misconceptions etc
➖
9. Mr Syed Zameer:
I am chemistry teacher cum Principal i enjoy teaching chemistry, physics & Biology in playful method, because Fluorine is inspiring me to be the most electronegative element who is capable of pulling electrons from most electropositive elements. Newton's third law actions are equal to the opposite reaction. Biology Cells exist from pre-existing cells.
➖
10. Azeez
Physicists need to to talk first.
Physicists need to read History of physics.
Physicists need to continue to work on foundations.
Physicists need to believe in their talents.
1. Some things about physics aren’t well covered in a physics education.
Those are the messy, rough edges that make everything difficult: dealing with people, singly or in groups; misunderstandings; rivals and even allies who won’t fall in line. Physicists often do not see such issues as contributing to science itself.
And a more human physics is a good thing. For starters, it makes physics more accessible, particularly for students. Many promising students drop out of the sciences because the material seems disembodied and disconnected from their lives.
Understanding the human side of physics will also better prepare students for what physicists actually do. Physicists work in groups. They need to talk. Physics is a social endeavor.
2. Complexity, not simplicity, has ruled the practice of science. Every discovery has come out of a messy mix of people, ideas, accidents, and arguments. Generally it takes a great deal of effort to understand what an observation or theory means.
3. In order to overcome these issues, every physics aspirant should read the history of physics first.
Why don’t physicists have a hard look at their history and learn from their failure? Because the existing scientific system does not encourage learning.
Why the foundations of physics have not progressed for 40 years?
The major cause of this stagnation is that physics has changed, but physicists have not changed their methods. As physics has progressed, the foundations have become increasingly harder to probe by experiment. Technological advances have not kept size and expenses manageable.
Let's change and make a change in the world.
➖
11. Mrs. T Sujatha: As Physics teacher & presently working as a principal, I feel that Physics is a fascinating subject which is based on real life examples/situations & simulations...as passionate teachers, we need to teach the younger generations, the concepts with clarity & lot of applications. Once the students understand the concepts, solving numericals become easy & that kindles curiosity in students. The teachers can further more ignite the love for the subject by narrating the stories of scientists & how their discoveries & inventions have helped mankind.
➖
12. Ms Gurmeet Kaur Taak: The upcoming generation can only relate to video games and other such activities on TV . All the scientific fundas are being missed by the children of the
millenium because Maths , Physics,Chemistry and all the other related Sciences have to be correlated to our day to day life . We need to inculcate in ourselves and in young children to be critical thinkers and not as " do it as it is instructed " when Teachers are unable to answer the various queries of the students . Moreover ,rather than giving some lab performed experiment ,we should also give simple daily life activities. We should patiently make and assist each student to perform lab experiments.
We also need to show the experiments methodically,as 1) apparatus needed for the experiment ,
2) The explanation step by step ,
3)The outcome .
And so on .
Involve the students actively while conducting the experiment . Instead of giving direct answers to speeding up the time ,lead them to the next level . So the students will feel that it's so easy and they were able to answer themselves.
➖
13. Mr. ISHFAQ QAYOOM BHAT: This is possible when we can provide them more practical work then theoretical
➖
14. RV VKV: Abstract ideas against concrete thinking makes Physics tougher than the other subject.
➖
15. Ms. Ramya: Lack of problem solving skills. As a higher secondary teacher I felt that in TN syllabus, introduction to physics concepts at secondary level is very less. Also most questions and problems are from book. So, the children doesn't show interest in knowing more. Even if we give them extra inputs their focus is only in scoring marks. Sometimes I feel very sad when they memorise the problems without solving.
➖
16. Ms. Gevethaa G: Good Morning Everyone, Iam B.E grad who shifted my career into teaching handling middle school students ( Physics) .I feel the base for physics needs to be made very strong right from the KG division because some of the schools tend to not give more focus on the KG section. Like when a kid asks a doubt why is the ball getting bounced when hit against the wall, we need not tell them its due newton third law but can introduce this ever fascinating interesting subject Physics in a very simple way so that they will start to think yes there is a science physics, chemistry, maths behind every real time incidents and application. So though as a subject physics is introduced only in the middle school its a responsibility of every teacher to impart the knowledge, kindle their interest and provide a space to understand easily. Thank you.
