Here's Mayor Cecil's design!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wanted to finally draw Mayor Cecil. In my AU, the mayor runs showdown valley and keeps the folks in check, including the sheriff. He looks after the town and ensures the folks in Showdown Valley play their part and follow the rules. This is where the rules "Guard Your Strings", "Play Your Part" and "Don't Look Up" come from, these rules were put in place by the Mayor in order to keep the folks of showdown valley stable physically and mentally. He does this as he knows that they are only puppets attached to strings and don't know how restricted they are as living puppets. The Mayor understands this since he was once human, passed away from old age, and was transferred into a puppet by his real son, one of the many puppeteers. The other puppeteers loved him as a grandfather so they make sure to protect him as a puppet by assisting him whenever he needed it. Cecil needs to deal with puppets who break the rules or discover they are being controlled by the puppeteers; they either go insane, are replaced, or are disassembled. It break Cecil to do this but he also knows they will try to tell others, causing the rest of the village to find out the truth and may lose their sanity as well. He adopted Rueben as his own son but for his safety kept his old identity a secret from his son as well, not wanting him to know. He decided to raise him up to be the sheriff, taught him how to defend himself, and helped him build up the skills he needed to fit his role in and out of the show. He raised Rueben on his own as he didn't want a wife as he had one as a human (whom he didn't end up having feelings for) and didn't want to go through another relationship (he's on the Ace spectrum). This is all info I have on him for now but I will be thinking about some ideas that I could add to his story. (This has already been uploaded to my deviantart)

Warning: there is a bit blood in this small story, and it will also get very emotional.
So...Dorothy found that Penny was struggling with a box and felt a bit concerned. Dorothy: umm...you need help with that, Penny? Penny: n-no, I'm...fine. Dorothy: are you sure? Penny: I...I think so! Dorothy sigh, she knew Penny was being stubborn as the smaller female wanted to do it on her own. It was after a few minutes of trying to lift the box that Penny's back began to ache, Dorothy could sense the pain in Penny's back and decided to step in, not wanting Hemsworth to strain herself more than she was. Quickly the dog-wolf swiped the box off the Penny who grumbled and held her back in pain. Penny: you didn't have to do that... Dorothy: c'mon, I couldn't let you hurt yourself, not while you still working. Penny: ugh! your always lifting boxes for me, at least let someone else take it for once! Dorothy: no, not happening. Most of the townsfolk looks worn down...there has to be someone there to help out, I can't just let them all hurt themselves with stuff they can't handle. Penny: Dorothy...,you are too worried about these people's health and their needs...and not only that, your constantly on your feet with those damn hunters and bandits on your back. Dorothy: ...I know. Penny: I don't know how you can go on like this, I mean...aren't you worried about yourself? Dorothy: ... Penny: you remember what those hunters did to you, right? it was right in front of the whole town, and you didn't even fight them either. Dorothy's eyes widened, the memory coming right back to her.
Fowler and Vernon as well as a few other hunter out of the valley, each taking their turn to beat her, she remember one of them slamming her head to the ground while another spat in her face, she was stomped on and yelled at by the hunter. She remember the ground being splattered here and there with drops of blood from her wounds, mouth and nose. "FIGHT! FIGHT DAMN YOU! WHY ARE JUST LAYING THERE?! FIGHT BACK, GO ON!" Fowler yelled as he had grabbed her by her jacket and lifting her off the ease, his face close to her as he glared down at her, tears formed in Dorothy's eyes. She was too scared to fight, she didn't want a different side of her seen by the townsfolk if she did. She tried to protest only for the wolf hunter to punch her across the face before suddenly shaking her, "YOU'RE PATHETIC, WOLF! JUST FIGHT ALREADY!" Fowler snarled, throwing her onto the ground. She whimpered, shakily trying to get up off the ground and limp away, "I-I...I don't want to fight, can't we j-just be at peace?" the dog-wolf turned her back to the wolf hunter, her ears were drooped down while her tail was between her legs. The whole town looked in concern, seeing that Dorothy was refusing to fight the hunters. Then, the hunters and bandit looked at each other before laughing at the dog-wolf's words, Dorothy cried as they laughed at her comment before the hunters and outlaw quit their laughter and made their approach towards her again. Dorothy whimpered and cried more before trying to limp away from the hunters only to feel something wrap around her neck, she looked to see a rope around her neck which quickly tightened and swiftly pulled her to the ground. Dorothy sobbed as she was pulled back towards the hunters, then the moment she was close enough to the hunters each of the hunters had grabbed ahold of Dorothy and forced her onto her knees. The grips from the hunter's arms hurt her, their fingers digging into her wounds while Dorothy tried not to yell in pain. Suddenly, a large hand gripped around her jaw before her gaze was lifted to look up at Fowler who had an evil smile plastered on his face "you want peace? really?" the wolf hunter spoke wickedly, Dorothy's expression was a combination of fear and sadness, "pl-please...we d-don't have to fig-fight, I-I don't want t-to... g-go through this any...anymore. I j-just wanna- AHHH!" without a warning the older male quickly brought his hand from her jaw to the tuff of her hair. The townsfolk watched in fear, they saw how fragile Dorothy was in the position she was in and Fowler could easily break her to pieces if he really wanted to. "since when did your degusting kind want peace between us folks? do you really think that we're that dumb?! HA, that's the best joke I've heard in ages...", Fowler chuckled as Dorothy squeezed her eyes shut. The wolf hunter continued to stare down at her dog-wolf. It was a few seconds later that Fowler let go of Dorothy's hair to signaled to the other hunters before Dorothy's body was forcefully shoved to the ground while still being pinned down except her back was exposed. Her eyes shot open at the sudden shift in her position, she didn't even get the chance to look back up at the wolf hunter before she felt a large boot come down on her head. "your species are known to attack folks without a single little bit of mercy, lots of the folks are slaughtered and eaten yearly by your species, it even got to a point where there were almost no folks left within this town.." Fowler's expression dropped as he spoke. "they begged for their lives, mothers and fathers sacrificing themselves just so their children wouldn't get eaten, but...you wolves instead killed them off just so you could get a meal out of them and leave the children hopeless watch them get eaten and torn apart, one by one..." Dorothy shook underneath the boot of the wolf hunter. "...and what we're those children left with? nothing but the wounds and the heartbreak those wolves brought them. Some children were even killed for extra food or just for the sake of it" the older puppet suddenly pressed his foot harder on the dog-wolf's head, making her squirm slightly against the hunters who were holding her down. "the surviving children had to spend years enduring their own suffering to grow up being emotionless individuals who have those memories eat them alive, even when nobody can see it." suddenly, Fowler felt a suddenly feeling of rage rush through his blood, the other hunters knew that the older hunter was about to snap so they let go of Dorothy to let him handle Dorothy himself, the dog-wolf gasped. It was then that Fowler lifted his foot off the dog-wolf's head that he exploded into a fit of rage and suddenly grabbed her face with one of his large hands, his hand almost covering her whole face as Fowler suddenly lifted her off the ground. The dog-wolf could see through the wolf hunter's finger and she could see the enraged stare that pierced into her eyes, her pupils shrunk as her eyes were locked on the wolf hunter's. "so...why should I be at peace with you? and why should anyone trust you to begin with? all your going to do is gain everyone's trust just so you can take advantage of them and tear them apart. And how dumb are you really to think that these folks like or trust you anyway? you don't even belong here, and you never did to begin with, you should've just stayed in your little box where you would've rotted and decayed away which is the only thing you deserve. Honestly, I don't know why your still alive to begin with, you wasted that opportunity by 'wanting to help others to make new friends' when really, who wants to be your friend?", the townsfolk looked at the dog-wolf who went completely silent, she was shaking as her tears hit the ground, it was after a few moments that they heard the sound of a cane from nearby. A few townsfolk began to move out of a way, making a clear path. It was then that Fowler and the other hunters to turn their heads to see who it was, their eyes widened. "FOWLER! HOW DARE YOU PUT YOUR HANDS ON HER!" the mayor made his way over to the hunter who scowled at the smaller man, "ugh...you always come at the wrong moment, don't you? alright, guys, I think you should-" he turned his head to where the other hunters were only to see that they had disappeared within an instant, all except for Vernon. The wolf hunter scowled, "cowards...fine, Vernon. Deal with him for me, would you?" the outlaw nodded, he cracked his knuckles as he made an approach towards the mayor. "I'm gonna make sure you don't mess with our business again, yellow dwarf!" the outlaw then went to punch the smaller elder male only for him to block his attack with his hand. Suddenly the mayor smiled, knowing the mistake that the outlaw had just made, "oh, despite the height difference between you and me...I know what I'm getting myself into, Vernon." Bullettooth furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, but before he could ask anything he felt the mayor's grip tighten and he was suddenly lifted off the ground by his arm. It was then that he realized how dumb he was as his back met the ground harshly, he'd forgotten how strong the smaller male was. Vernon quickly went to get back up only to feel something hit him in a sensitive area of his back, the outlaw turned his head to see that mayor behind him as his body hit the ground again. "ugh, you...you may have been able to outsmart me, but I always- AHHH!" suddenly the outlaw felt the mayor grab his leg, pulling it uncomfortable towards his head as the smaller male place his knee on Vernon's back. "now...listen up, Vernon, I'm gonna stay this once and once only, both you and your brother leave Dorothy be and go on back home...or there will be consequences!" the outlaw chuckled at the mayor's threat. "heh, and what if we don't? is your short-ass son gonna arrest us?", it was then that Cecil stared down at the outlaw with a look like would kill, there was a moment of silence before the mayor raised a hand just slight higher than his head. The townsfolk gasped before backing away as they saw the dark look on Cecil's face. Fowler watched from a distance, he still had Dorothy in his grasp. Suddenly, the mayor snapped his fingers. The townsfolk scattered and hid away, knowing what was going to happen now. Vernon turned his head to look at Fowler, the wolf hunter's face had dropped into an expression between fear and anger a few seconds after the mayor snapped his fingers. "brother, what's wro-" it was then he saw a large human hand slam down just inches away from his face. Vernon's face went pale, "hmm...how about instead of getting arrested, you both end up being put in your place by the puppeteers, huh?" both the wolf hunter and the outlaw shook in fear at the mayor's words. Mayor Cecil then turned his head in Fowler's direction, "how about we let you go first, Fowler?" it was only a few seconds before the large hand went towards the wolf hunter. "w-wait no! ok ok! I'll let her go!", it was a few moments later that Fowler gently lowered the dog-wolf back onto the ground, when he did Dorothy had curled up on the ground, shaking and sobbing as her own blood dripped from her wounds onto the wooden floor underneath her. Cecil then got off of the outlaw that he had pinned underneath him, he then used his cane to whack Fowler harshly before going towards Dorothy, sitting on his knees and gently placing head on his lap, she whimpered at the touch and tried to pull away in fear and pain. The dog-wolf's blood began to smear on the mayor's hand as he touched her wounds gently, while he did so the puppeteer hand had scared away Fowler and Vernon as they ran out of the area as fast as they could. Dorothy had then pulled away completely, trying to get herself up and trying not to worry the mayor. "I'm...I-I'm fine, I can just-" the dog-wolf then tried to stand up on her own, even trying to use the leg she couldn't walk on. But, the moment that she put her weight on her bad leg she felt something in her leg snap, a loud crunch sound was heard as Dorothy yelled and fell, the mayor gasped before quickly grabbing a hold of her before the dog-wolf even dropped to the ground. The dog-wolf began to whimper and cry. Cecil then looked down at her bad leg to see her leg was cracked and split open open as blood poured out from the rather large wound in her leg. Despite Dorothy's pain she still tried to push the mayor away and try to get herself back it, causing her leg to bleed faster, "I n-need to...I need to deal with this on my own, I shouldn't have to make anyone help me anymore..." the mayor felt bad for the dog-wolf, he had overheard what the wolf hunter had said to her before he arrived, "Dorothy...I'm not gonna let you be left with this on your own, I don't think you can even walk." But even when the mayor was right Dorothy still tried to refuse his help, "so? there are... a lot of other folks who get the same injuries as me, but they are able to fight it on their own...and so should I", Cecil furrowed his eyebrows, he knew it was very common for Dorothy to end up hurt to the point where she can barely stand up. "but this has been happening to you almost anytime you come in contact with Fowler and Vernon, and you never try to properly defend yourself" Dorothy gritted her teeth slightly, "because if I do... e-everyone will get the wrong idea! most of the folks around here t-think I'm a wolf... and they judge straight off from my appearance and what I do!" Dorothy felt more tears drip down her fluffy cheeks as she began to become stressed and filled with anxiety. The mayor saw Dorothy become stressed and tried to calm her down, "Dorothy, please...not all folks will-" "and it doesn't matter how much I'm nice or friendly I try to be with everyone, there will always be people who try to harm me!", Cecil saw that Dorothy was full of stress because she was full on emotions as he could barely even get his words in. "a-and it's not just that! there always hunters out there wanting me to attack them, trying to make me bare my teeth at them and even bite them on purpose, I hate the fact I have to constantly keep my mouth shut when I get insulted or yelled at because of the way I look! but they don't seem to care about the fact that I am hurting! THEY DON'T THINK THAT I CAN FEEL AT ALL!" Dorothy's voice came out a shout, making the mayor jump slightly. The dog-wolf began to shake due to the amount of emotion she felt, "THEY DON'T SEE THAT I'M HURTING A LOT! I'M HURT BECAUSE OF THEM! I'M HURT BECAUSE OF WHO I AM! AND I'M HURT BECAUSE OF THE PAIN I FEEL EVERYDAY!" suddenly the mayor gently brought his hands to her face, Dorothy's expression softened "Dorothy..." the mayor's voice seemed to echo in her mind. She looked down at the mayor, "Dorothy", suddenly another voice seemed to echo with the mayor's face, it was feminine, she looked around for the other voice but...there was only the mayor there with her. "Dorothy!" she looked back down at the mayor to see that his lips weren't moving, it wasn't the mayor that spoke this time, it was a feminine voice on it's own and...
Penny: DOROTHY!! Dorothy: !!! Dorothy began to breath heavily, sweat and tears dripping down her face. She had realized that she was still gripping the box that Penny needed help with expect for the fact that her claws had torn through her gloves and dug at the box, leaving deep scratch marks on the side of the box. The dog-wolf then looked down at Penny, the smaller female had a worried look on her face. Dorothy had quickly collected herself before her eyes soften. She then looked to the side. Dorothy: o-oh...sorry, I guess kinda... s-spaced out for a second, no need to worry... Penny: Dorothy...your crying, are you alright? Dorothy: I'm fine, I just got a little something in my eye... She didn't want Hemsworth to worry about her since she was wanting to just move on from the topic completely and finish up helping Penny. Dorothy's gem glowed a soft blue color as she turned her gaze back down at the red-haired female. Dorothy put on a fake smile as she did so. Dorothy: so...where do you want me to put the box? it'll be best if I bring it inside your shop so you won't have to brag it inside. Penny: hmm...ok, just follow me and I'll show you where to put it. Penny then lead Dorothy to her shop. But, while she did so she couldn't stop thinking about how Dorothy's face completely dropped at the topic she brought up, her eyes were wide with shock and fear, her pupils had become smaller, tears were constantly pouring from her eyes and her mouth was agape. Though it wasn't just her face that showed fear, her gem turned a bright purple and a dark blue as it glew brightly, her ears were drooped down and her tail had shot between her legs. But, the one thing that Penny noticed most was the fact that Dorothy's claw had sprouted out from her paws and tore through her gloves as the dog-wolf's grip on the box tightened. Hemsworth knew that something was eating at the her, she wanted to know what exactly it was. Once she and Dorothy reach her store, Penny unlocked and opened the door to her store and held the door open for Dorothy. Penny: just place it behind the counter with the rest of the unopened boxes on the left. Dorothy: alright, will do. Dorothy then went behind the counter and placed the box where Penny had told her to place, Dorothy sighed and stretched herself out, she felt her body strain at the stretch, causing her to wince and groan at the uncomfortable sensation. Penny heard Dorothy groan before making her way over to the dog-wolf, when Penny looked at Dorothy the dog-wolf tried to brush it off like it was nothing. Dorothy: A-All done, now...is there anything else you need help with? Penny: ...no, that was the last of the supplies for the day, now I can finish up and get home... Dorothy: Great. Well...j-just let me know if you need anymore help and I'll- The dog-wolf had walked past Penny and was about to leave the store when Penny grabbed ahold of her arm, pulling her back and closing the door before Dorothy could leave. Dorothy furrowed her brow in confusion and slight fear. Dorothy: P-Penny? Penny: Look, I know something is up, your just trying to push it aside like your normally do...but I know. So why don't you just tell me what it is already? Dorothy: ...what are you talking about? Penny: don't lie, Dorothy! you know exactly what I'm talking about..., before, when I bought up something about those wolf hunters. Dorothy's expression dropped, a shadow lingered over her face. She somehow knew Penny wouldn't drop it. Dorothy: oh...you mean 'that'? Penny: yes 'THAT'! now tell me why exactly it bothered you so much! Dorothy: ...that topic is none of your concern, Penny. Penny: it's a concern if you just completely lose touch of reality around you like you did! The dog-wolf felt herself become antsy, usually she would react like this towards others but... Penny was somewhat pushing her boundaries just a bit more than she should. Dorothy gritted her teeth, her ears drooping lower as her tail dropped down. Dorothy: whether something bothers me or not does not mean that it should be said... Penny: but hiding it away will only bother you more! you don't seem to see how much it hurts you! Dorothy: it's doesn't matter if I am hurt on the inside, it only matter if it influences others to deal with it for me. Penny: AND THEN IT WILL CAUSE YOU PAIN ON THE OUTSIDE TOO!!! Dorothy breathed in slightly at Penny's shout, her gem began to turn a light red color as she was beginning to feel anger bubble inside her from the smaller female's demands. The dog-wolf didn't want to continue the conversation and instead pulled her arm away from Hemsworth and went to leave only for Penny to stand in front of the door. Dorothy then felt her body shake in anger as Penny was blocking her way out. Dorothy: I'm done with this conversation, so could you please just let me go? because I am getting real tired of this. Penny: Not until you tell me why the hell this is bothering you so much! Dorothy: And why should I have to- Penny: Because you shouldn't have to suffer in silence! can't you see that I'm trying to help you?! Dorothy: I'd rather suffer in silence than say something that I will regret, so don't try to pressure me out of the truth... Penny: I'm only pressuring you because your hurting! what is so hard about telling me why? Dorothy: ... Penny: why can't you open up about this to me? everyone is worried about you because of this, Showdown is worried, Doc is worried, the whole town is worried, even Lorelei is worried! it can't be that hard to tell me one little thing! Dorothy: ...enough, Penny... Penny: Everyone knows how those hunters have been pushing you around! but it's something else they are doing that is upsetting you, something nobody knows about! Dorothy: enough. Penny: So why don't you just say it already- Dorothy: I said ENOUGH! Suddenly, Dorothy felt something snap inside of her as her claws sprouted back out of her finger, her pupils suddenly turned a red color while the white of her eyes turned a dark blue, Dorothy growled as she suddenly launched herself at Penny. Dorothy: WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN JUST FORCE ME TO SPEAK ABOUT SOMETHING THAT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE CRAP?! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS FEELS FOR ME! DO YOU THINK I WANT TO BE QUESTIONED ABOUT MY PROBLEMS!?! I HATE IT! I HATE THE FACT THAT I HAVE TO WALK AROUND THIS TOWN ONLY FOR THE FOLKS AROUND HERE TO CONSTANTLY PRESSURE ME INTO ANSWERS! ALL THAT DOES IS RUB SAIT INTO THE CUTS! AND YOU PESTERING ME JUST ADDS ON TO THAT ACHING PAIN!!! Her words came out a roar as Hemsworth coward in fear under the dog-wolf who towered over her, Dorothy's breath came out shaky as she felt her throat ache. It was then that Dorothy had looked down at Penny to see the smaller female shaking in fear, Dorothy's eyes widened as she realized that she just completely snapped at her friend. Dorothy's eyes changed back to normal as they filled with tears, her gem turning a dark blue. The dog-wolf backed away from Penny, trying the keep her distance from the red-haired female. Dorothy: I...I-I...oh god! I'm s-so sorry! Dorothy began to panic, Penny quickly calm down as she saw Dorothy back off. But, the dog-wolf suddenly became light-headed from her body overworking itself and she fell to her knees, she winced once she felt her knees hit the floor. It was then that Hemsworth heard Dorothy pant due to being tired, overworked and in pain as Dorothy used both of her arms to hold herself up as much as she could. Hemsworth swiftly made her way over to Dorothy, she tried to help her only for Dorothy to flinch and move away from Penny. Penny: h-hey, it's alright, I'm- Dorothy: stay away! I don't wanna hurt you... Penny: Dorothy...I know you, your not going to hurt me. Penny reached a hand over to Dorothy, holding it out for the dog-wolf. Dorothy paused, she was extremely hesitant at first but she eventually gave the smaller female her hand. Hemsworth then pulled her up from the ground, a soft reassuring smile on her face. But, Dorothy was still upset about scaring Penny, she didn't want to stay around any longer. Dorothy: I...I gotta go now, bye, Penny. But before Penny could respond Dorothy rushes out the door, running out of the store as if Penny was going to chase her down. The small female's smile turned to a frown, she felt bad for her actions. She decided to not go after Dorothy since she knew that Dorothy needed some time to herself. Although Penny didn't go after her...she still worried for Dorothy's safety, being aware that Dorothy was becoming weaker and weaker every second she look at her... Penny: hmm...I hope she'll be ok, I may have damaged her health from what I did to her...

WARNING - The full story of this post has bad language (only two or three words though)
So a few days ago it was Dorothy’s birthday, but something you may or may not know is that she doesn’t enjoy celebrating her birthday for many reasons, but the main reason is because she thinks she doesn’t deserve anything since she didn’t think her birthday was special. But of course, it had somehow slipped out within showdown valley and so Dorothy tried to hide herself away to avoid receiving any gifts. What she didn’t know was that half the valley had decided to throw her a birthday at the saloon to repay all the times she had done something for most of the folks when it was their birthdays. And while Dorothy was hidden away she had discovered a pocket in her pink jacket she didn’t know she had. She felt something was in the pocket and decided to pull it out, it was then that she discovered that she still had an old photo of her family on her that she thought she lost years ago. Tears began to form in her eyes as she finally saw herself as a human after the many years she had been stuck as a dog-wolf and she began to sob and weep as she continued to stare at the photo. Dorothy continued to cry for hours on end as she was being flooded with different emotions. Then, after the saloon was set up Showdown, Penny and a few other folks decided to go off and find Dorothy to bring her to the saloon. But, after many hours of searching none of them were able to find her, Showdown seemed to be concerned about not being able to find her since he didn’t want her to miss out on her party. They ended up heading back to the saloon, everyone seemed to be sad and disappointed after they weren’t able to find her. It was then a certain faceless puppet had given the town a visit to see what exactly was going on. He decided to go inside of the saloon to find the placed decorated and a bunch of angry folks staring right at him, Lorelei threateningly asked the Faceless man why he was in town and Faceless told her he got curious and wondered why the saloon was decorated. The undertaker had then forcefully demanded he left immediately but she was ignored by the large bandit who had a look around at the decorations. Although he was mostly blind he knew that there were bright, colorful things around he that the faceless man had rarely seen before. He then saw a large colorful banner pinned up on the wall that read Dorothy’s name, it was then he realized that they were trying to throw a birthday party for her and he turned back to Lorelei. “wait...it’s Dorothy’s birthday today?” the faceless’ man’s expression seemed to changed into shock as Lorelei nodded. “yeah...but unfortunately nobody has been able to find her, she has been missing all day and nobody knows why” Penny said while rubbing her arm. The Faceless man furrowed his eyes at the eyeless female in concerned, “but...why would she suddenly disappear on her birthday? that seems a bit strange” Lorelei rolled her eyes “says the one who literally appears out of nowhere every two weeks to cause trouble...” the Faceless then quickly darts his head to bare his teeth at the undertaker. “well I wouldn’t have to if I didn’t have a role to play like everyone else here!”, “yeah, but the show ended  many years ago which means we only play our roles on the stage! maybe you hit your head too hard to remember that.” “you mean the one time YOU hit me in the head with that fucking shovel of yours the time I walked through town!!”, “YOU SWEAR AT ME AGAIN AND I’LL MADE SURE YOU CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING!!!” suddenly both the faceless man and the undertaker stared each other down and were about to start to fight. Both Showdown and Penny didn’t know what to do seeing both threatening puppets about to smash each other’s heads in.  “that’s enough, both of you!” suddenly all the folks within the saloon gasped and stood aside hearing the familiar voice, both Lorelei and Faceless’ expressed dropped and they turned their heads to the familiar voice. Lorelei quickly dusted herself off and Faceless straightened himself out before turning to the familiar puppet. “M-Mayor Cecil, I apologize for causing a scene” the grey-haired puppet glared at both Lorelei and the Faceless bandit, “well you should be! you both shouldn’t be acting the way you were, and you also shouldn’t be starting a fighting with any bandits, Lorelei! especially today, it’s Dorothy’s birthday, do you think she’d want you two at each other’s throats?!” both Lorelei and Faceless looked at each other before both shaking their heads. “good! now don’t let me catch you two doing that again or there will be consequences, got it?!”, “understood,Mayor Cecil!” both Lorelei and Faceless answered. Cecil then went over to Showdown and Penny, “did you and the others manage to find her yet?” Showdown looked at the ground, “sorry, Mayor Cecil, we didn’t manage to find her” the older male sighed in disappointment. “well we can’t start the party without her...” Cecil gripped his walking stick firmly as he tried to think of someone who knew how to easily track folks down. He needed someone who knew most of the valley’s hidden areas, someone who could easily sense another puppet around them. Then...he finally realized who could easily do just that. The older male turned back around and approached the Faceless man “Faceless, you must know most of the area in the valley that most of the folks don’t know about, right?” the faceless man furrowed his brows. “yeah, I know most of the valley and most of it’s remote areas” the faceless man brought his hand behind his head and rubbed the back of his neck. “well...would you possibly know where to find Dorothy?”, Faceless paused for a seconds before he answered. “I...I’m not entirely sure that I know where she would be, but I guess I could try finding her” the older puppet’s expression soften in a calm and content manner “splendid, now go find her for me and we can finally start this party!” Faceless nodded before suddenly disappear in a grey puff of smoke. Seeing the Faceless Bandit disappear, the older puppet decided to check around to make sure everything was set up perfectly for the dog-wolf. Faceless had then reappeared in one of the many areas of the valley he knew from the back of his mind, he tried to sense if anyone was around only to not feel any presence and so he moved into another area. One by one the faceless man scanned through the areas he knew that none of the folks within the valley could possible know about, but each area seemed to have no sign of the dog-wolf anywhere. Or...at least that was what he thought until he managed to stumble across an area he had only recognized once or twice. Faceless didn’t entirely know his way around the area and wasn’t sure where to start when suddenly he heard soft noises from nearby, it sounded like... crying. Quickly, the faceless man followed the noise which gradually got louder and louder until he was close enough to hear the noise, he could hear the sobbing through a wall that he had quietly approached. It was then that he could see a large hole in the wall which he would easily be able to squeeze through. But, the faceless bandit decided to peak inside before he went inside. And once he did, he realized that the hole revealed a small room which he quickly spotted Dorothy in. His face lit up as faceless finally found the dog-wolf only for his expression to drop when he saw her in a tearful state where she was in pure emotional pain. It was then he saw that she was holding something in her hands, it looked like a photo. She was also huddled in a corner of the small room as she was unaware of the faceless man’s presence as her mind was occupied on her emotions and thoughts. He had never seen Dorothy such a state before, her eyes being completely glazed over from how long she had been crying. Then quietly, the faceless man walked over to the dog-wolf and got down to level. “Dorothy...” suddenly the dog-wolf jumped hearing faceless suddenly speak, not knowing how he found her. The Faceless man backed off, realizing that he had scared her, “woah! I didn’t mean to frighten you, are you...alright?” Dorothy sighed, wiping her eyes to clear away the tears that dripped down her face. “it’s...it’s fine, I’m...fine” faceless could see she wasn’t as her gem was a dark blue color, a frown appeared on his face. Her eyes drifted to the side before tucking the photo she had back into the pocket of her pink jacket. “...how did you know where I was?” Dorothy’s didn’t look at faceless as she spoke, “well...I was able to hear you after I somehow found this area, and I somehow sensed it was you” Dorothy let out a noise between a laugh and a huff, “of course you did... someone was bound to find me.” There was a few moments of silence before faceless finally asked Dorothy “why did you hide yourself away? apparently folks have been looking all over for you..., did you...hide for a reason?” he suddenly saw the female shake as she clenched her fists firmly. It was after a few moments that Dorothy stopped shaking and finally answered.  “I-I hid away because...I didn’t want folks noticing me after the news had been spreading around about my birthday. I didn’t want folks doing stuff for me just because of one day in particular, I’ve never celebrated my birthday in the past so why should I now? I don’t see a point in receiving gifts or getting parties thrown for me. In the end I feel bad for everything that they did for me which makes me feel one hundred times worse than I already do. I know I should feel lucky to even have these things done... but all it does is make me feel pathetic no matter what because of not being able to appreciate these things without realizing it at all. And then...I end up feeling rude or selfish if I end up turning away gifts or parties that folks make for me...” tears began to form in Dorothy’s eyes again, bringing her paw-like hands to her face. Faceless’ mouth was left agape at what Dorothy had told him. He felt bad for her as he was there to persuade her to come to the party for her in town. But, he knew how she felt, he wasn’t one for birthdays either, although he had never been invited to any since the show stopped and what he did. Faceless sighed, shuffling closer to Dorothy before putting a hand on her shoulder. “It’s fine to not enjoy celebrating your birthday, and it’s fine if you don’t like when people give you gifts and throw parties for you. To be honest, I don’t celebrate my birthday and nobody cares about my birthday, ever since the show stopped. I also haven’t been invited to any parties at all since then either because of all the other shit I’ve done.” Dorothy uncovered her face from her hands a bit, tears still dripping from her eyes. “But...that doesn’t mean that you don’t deserve anything, you’ve done a lot for these folks, hell! you saved the Mayor’s life three time already as well as many of the other well-known folks in the valley. I’ve seen you, and you’ve really proven yourself worthy of respect and acceptance even if you can’t see it, yet...not once have you ever been properly repaid. I know that I’m suppose to be a bandit and you wouldn’t believe the words of an outlaw but...even a bad guy like me can see that your a puppet-... dog-wolf puppet, that is allowed the respect and aid back you give to these folks.” Dorothy looked faceless with a sad and confused expression on face as a couple of tears ran down her face, but before she could say anything the faceless man suddenly pulled her into a hug. The dog-wolf’s eyes widened in shock before more tears filled her eyes and she pressed her fluffy chin onto the faceless man’s shoulder. Dorothy’s eyes softened and she began to cry into Faceless’ coat and the faceless man let her, he pat her head gently as faceless held her. He knew that she was still in an emotional state and so Faceless let her cry until she felt more calm. Then she pulled away from the faceless man and gave him a soft smile, her gem changed to a faded yellow color. “thank you...” her voice came out gently and happy, “it’s fine..., I don’t usually do hugs, but I guess it helped” Faceless then stood up and helped Dorothy up off the ground, both faceless and Dorothy smiled at each other. “so...why exactly did you want to find me for anyway?” Faceless’ chuckled nervously, “uuh...well after everyone found out it was your birthday...they kinda...set up a party for you at the saloon, it was the Mayor’s idea, most of the valley is invited to it actually, but...they can’t start it without you.” Dorothy’s expression dropped a bit and she sighed, “oh no...are you sure?”, “yeah...”, “well...I guess I could go, if they really can’t start without me then I’m gonna have to.” Dorothy was about to start walking down when Faceless suddenly grabbed her and held her against him, “don’t worry, I know a shortcut” then without a warning Faceless suddenly teleported the both of them right into town. Dorothy’s knees shook but Faceless grabbed her before she almost dropped to the ground, “HOLY HELL! could you warn me next time you do that?! you almost gave me a damn heart attack!” Faceless laughed, “sorry, but was worth your reaction” Dorothy growled, “oh fuck off” this caused Faceless to laugh even harder as Dorothy managed to balance herself. It didn’t take long for a couple of the townsfolk to notice Dorothy and quickly ran up to her, wishing her a happy birthday. One of the townsfolk even put a party hat on her head. Dorothy shyly thank them, feeling a little bit uncomfortable with being approached. Faceless noticed this and pulled her away from the townsfolk, “we shouldn’t head to the saloon now, wouldn’t want to keep everyone waiting” Dorothy nodded as both her and Faceless made their way over to the saloon. Once they got there, Dorothy was quickly greeted by the Mayor, “thank goodness! I knew Faceless was able to find you!” suddenly Cecil put a hand around her back, dragging Dorothy into the saloon before shouting “everyone! Dorothy is here! we can get the party started!” Dorothy smiled a bit as she suddenly heard an uproar of cheering within the saloon, even the bartenders were cheering as well. Soon, there were lots of folks gathering within the saloon, but...Dorothy felt bad as she saw Faceless standing outside, he had been left all alone after she had been dragged inside of the bar. It seemed that Faceless wasn’t invited to the party, she remembered that he wasn’t welcomed inside as for how much trouble he had caused. Dorothy had sit herself at a table where she sulked, she had folded her arms on the table and had her chin sitting on top. Suddenly Mayor Cecil had set a rather large glass of wine in front of her, “here, have a drink, it is your birthday after all!” but then he realized that Dorothy looked sad. “what’s the matter? are you not having any fun?” Dorothy then turned her head to Cecil, “well...there was someone who I hoped who be invited but...I guess not” Mayor Cecil then pulled over a seat and sat next to her. “oh? and who may that be, Dorothy?” Dorothy furrowed her brow in a sad manner before answering, “Faceless...he was the reason I brought myself to come to the party in the first place, I...I didn’t want to come here at first but...he made me realize that I should.” Cecil paused for a few seconds, realizing what Dorothy had just said. “wait, were you trying to avoid everyone because you didn’t want this party? did I pressure you into this?” Dorothy jolted, “n-no! of course you didn’t pressure me..., I just...find it hard to enjoy my birthday and the fact that I didn’t deserve much attention for it. To be honestly, this is one of the only parties that have been thrown for me...” Cecil’s mouth dropped at Dorothy’s words. “...goodness, I hadn’t known” Dorothy smiled softly, “it’s alright, Mayor Cecil, I appreciate this kind gesture of yours as well as the rest of the valley” but her smile dropped back into a frown again. The older male thought for a few seconds before finally speaking up again, “alright, I’ll let you invite him in” Dorothy’s face completely lit up at the Mayor’s words, “really?!” the female’s tail began to wag as her ears perked up. “of course, but only on two conditions...” Dorothy tilted her head, “yes?” she waited for his response, “that you have lots of fun and that you enjoy yourself” Dorothy nodded before quickly rushing to get out of her seat and run outside.
Faceless was sitting outside, seeing the saloon completely light up as he had a sad look on his face, “I hope she is enjoying herself...” he said to himself as he was left alone. It was then that he saw someone burst through the saloon doors and rush towards his direction, it was Dorothy again. Faceless smiled a bit, “hey, Dorothy, what are you doing outside? I thought you’d be having fun by now?” he suddenly saw her give him a shy look. “well...I wasn’t exactly enjoying myself, not after I realized you were left out here on your own, so I decided to come out here and invite you inside” Faceless’ expression dropped, “but...didn’t you remember what I said before? nobody is going to welcome m-” “I don’t care! it’s either that or I won’t enjoy myself.” The Faceless man rubbed his arm, feeling unsure about it, “I don’t know...” Dorothy sighed, she knew it was going to be hard to persuade the faceless man. She then tried to think of a way to change his mind. Dorothy knew how stubborn the faceless outlaw could be as pleading with words wouldn’t work. Then...she suddenly realized what she had to do, something she knew he had a weak spot for. She smirked a bit, “alright, then you leave me with no choice!” Faceless seemed confused for a few moments before suddenly seeing Dorothy’s eyes dilated as she put on a pout and her ears drooped down, she was giving him a puppy dog face. “no! not the face! c’mon, Dorothy!” Dorothy tilted her head, let out small whimpers, she could see that the faceless man had trouble containing himself and he felt his heart melt at her face. “no! one of my only weaknesses!”, “I know you can’t resist the face, don’t make me use drastic measures” Faceless began to breath heavily seeing her getting closer to him until he couldn’t take it anymore. “Ok ok! you win, I’ll go with you...” Dorothy’s face then went back to normal and she giggled, “yes!” she swiftly grabbed ahold of his arm before dragging him into the saloon with her. But, once Dorothy entered with Faceless everyone began to glare at the outlaw, the faceless man stare down at Dorothy nervously, “hey! I’m the one who brought him in here, it’s my birthday, I’m allowed to do what I want to, right?” it was then that the folks looked at each other before shrugging it off. Faceless seemed surprised at this, he thought that folks would surely kick him out. The faceless was then quickly dragged through the saloon the table where Dorothy sat at before, Mayor Cecil was standing nearby, he saw how much happier she was with Faceless in her presence. It was then that Penny, Lorelei, Showdown and a few of Dorothy’s friends had spotted her in the crowd and went straight over to her, she was then bombarded with gifts and hugs as well, Penny and Myra ended up bringing over some cake for Dorothy. She had given some to Faceless who she was chatting with throughout the party, Showdown of course stayed very distant from the both of them, not wanting to be seen by the faceless man. Throughout the party, Dorothy was asked to dance a few times as some great songs were being played, she even danced with faceless so he wouldn’t feel left out and...Faceless actually began to enjoy himself. But, soon folks began to offer her drinks, Dorothy wasn’t feeling too sure about it, not wanting to get drunk. It was then that Faceless said, “c’mon, it’s your birthday, you may as well let loose just for tonight” Dorothy sighed, “I guess I could...” It was after a few drinks she began to feel a little bit of an effect of the alcohol, “ok...that’s enough, I want to at least be able to stand or else I may not be able to-” Faceless suddenly put a hand on her shoulder, “but one more can’t hurt you, right?” Dorothy paused, maybe one more would be ok. “...fine, only one more, then I’m done” Faceless smirked, going over to the bar and got the bartender to grab the bigger glass they had, it must’ve been three times the size of the normal glasses they had. Then after the bartender filled the glass Faceless went back to Dorothy and sat the glass in front of her, Dorothy’s face went pale at the size of the glass of alcohol. “you’re....you’re kidding me, I can’t finish that! I’ll-” Faceless patted her on the back, “don’t worry, you’ll be fine!” Dorothy began to feel nervous, she didn’t want the alcohol to go to waste and so she managed to finished the entire glass. Once she did, she was completely tipsy and she started going completely wild. But, it didn’t take long for Dorothy to pass out, and so Faceless ended up taking her back with him to his home, taking all the gifts Dorothy received with him as well. Faceless had a spare place in his home for her to sleep for the night and so Dorothy’s party had come to an end an hour later. so...yeah, that’s basically sums up what happened on Dorothy’s birthday, hope you enjoyed reading it if you did ^^;

So...I decided to make the designs of the Sheriff and Mayor for my Blog using gacha life, they are...kinda my own characters. Say hello to Mayor Cecil (the grey haired male) and Sheriff Rueben (the brown haired male), these two are father and son, Cecil is Rueben’s father. They both work together to keep the puppets of Showdown Valley in line, Rueben making sure to deal with bandits and puppets who cause trouble in town while Cecil is the one who deals with the ones who break the rules of the show or who are disobedient to him, though Cecil is an old man...it doesn’t mean he can’t put certain puppets in their place.
