Episode 80: A Really Reconciliatory Recap
*Grabs MEGAPHONE*
Attention PLEASE....The Suegra has boarded the Ship...I repeat, The Suegra has boarded the ship!
I always knew that Lupe would come around, and do you know why? because she LOVES Juliana more than anything, and thats what you do when you love someone: you ACCEPT and SUPPORT them for who they really are.
I personally found Lupe's (and Eva's) initial reactions quite baffling, I would NEVER treat someone I care about like that but I KNOW its a reality for many people sadly. I hope the Lupes and Evas watching the show can see themselves (and their kids/loved ones) in these characters and that It can help them understand and bridge the gap and realize that as clichè as it sounds, LOVE is LOVE.
This show is really out there changing lives for the better and I think it’d deserve all the accolades just for that (even tho the whole show is pretty amazing anyway lol). Humans learn through tales and stories and if Juliantina can make a parent change idea on homophobia or give hope to a kid that his/her parents will eventually come around and accept them then mission accomplished. Slow clap for all involved really, you’re making the world a better place,
One Lupe at a time.
I hope that as we move forward more and more we can all respect and treat each other as HUMANS and understand that in the end we all love the same, there's just more than one way to show it... AND THAT's OK.
(I went Full MACA for a moment there lol)...Anywayyyyyyy ...back to the EP...
Remember that Telenovela 101 post where I said It was OK to do your best Evil Laughter when the bad guys get what they deserve? Well...
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
CRY HARDER EVA, CRY HARDERRRRRRR.
Time to check on Val and see how her "Space and Time" life is going ....
Figured XD.
I honestly think Val pushed Juls away out of self preservation only, since she doesn't wanna risk getting burned (again) by a NOT-SURE-I-WANNA-DO-THIS-Juls.
I think she's just waiting for her to actually go ALL-IN on the relationship and leave all doubts and drama behind, which I believe IS Juls intention anyway, she just has to fuckin' SHOW IT lol. Lupe's OK will definitely help with this IMO.
Also ...Juls-Make-Up-Your-Mind-Please?-Ansgty-Valentina Soundtrack:
"Say You Love Me" by Jessie Ware ...ADD IT TO THE JULIANTINA PLAYLIST!!! XD
OMG This scene ...you can see when Val STOPS BREATHING for a second there, and that hopeful smile on her face...only to be crushed when she realises its NOT her Favorite-Hitman's-Daughter-Stubborn-Ass-Gurl : (
You can literally see the moment her heart sinks (and shatters into a million pieces) UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. No One does ANGST like a Telenovela you hear me? ...NO ONE.
Is that Val and Tears I see? WHAT A SURPRISE!....Here's the Give-Val-A-Break edit, I knew it was bound to happen soon anyway lol.
Also Mayela ...keep that wine away from Valentina ...and while we're at it stay away from Valentina and that alberca as well, you hear me!? You're already making shit awkward for Guille and Renata and there's literally only a week left gurl ...AIN'T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT lol.
Beltran is fully into this redemption arc and all I can say is good for him, and that whole choose one wife/family path? ...Listen, Panchito can take it from here so yeah, the choice is quite simple if you ask me, just saying.
Lucia showing up to Chivis House ...Well shit. I think she could end up helping them honestly? Once Lupe tells her about Beltran and confirms the whole transmigration thing is real, and also she KNOWS Valentina cares about Juliana so I think she could end up doing the right thing and lend them a place to stay as well.
_______________________________________________________________________
We've reached the "All IS LOST" part of the plot, which means the climax and resolution are right around the corner, this last week is gonna be WILD, I’m REALLY curious to see IF (and HOW WELL) they are gonna be able to stick ALL these landings, I haven't been much disappointed this far so hopefully they'll end on a high note, fingers crossed.
Also next EP is (the now infamous lol) EPISODE 81, normally I wouldn't pay much attention to a passing comment on an interview ...BUT this is Maca-The-Spoiler-Supreme we're talking about, So MAYBE they elope, have 3 kids, and go on honeymoon ...GUESS WHERE...Costa Rica hahahahaha.
I REALLY want to know what you guys think is gonna happen? let's turn this rambling monologue into a crazy-theories conversation, shall we?
Leave me a comment with your theories about 81 and how do you think Juliantina is gonna endgame this whole thing eventually? K, Thanks, Bye.

Audition Tape Gives Glimpse into Changes to Wheel of Time
In an April 2019 audition tape on popular creator video site, Vimeo, the dialog read by Irish actress, Seána Kerslake, and an off-camera voice sheds light on possible changes to how things will play out in the TV series adaptation of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time.
The video shows two parts: first is a conversation between Nynaeve and Lan. The second seems to be between Nynaeve and Moiraine. Part one starts with Nynaeve finding Lan and asking about her “friends”, or the Two Rivers crew. Moiraine seems to be hurt and Lan wants Nynaeve to help heal her since Moiraine is the only one who can find the kids. This possibly takes place after the split in Shadar Logoth, or some other event written in place of Shadar Logoth, maybe the crossing of a river.
Part two is probably earlier in the series when Moiraine is still in Emond’s Field. It’s a meeting between Nynaeve and Moiraine that we know happened off screen in the Eye of the World, but never got to see. Part of this conversation about Nynaeve being able to wield the one power took place, again, after Shadar Logoth when Nynaeve locates Lan and Moiraine.
In part one, we don’t know if Nynaeve finds Lan and Moiraine after the event that split up the group having been a part of the group initially, or if she finds them only after the split. In the series, Nynaeve finds the group in Baerlon then travels with them to Shadar Logoth. This dialog suggests a possibility where she finds them without having joined them first.
We’ve transcribed the video to the best of our ability and surrounded unintelligible text in [brackets]. The video is below, followed by the transcript.
In the clip names, concepts and places are altered to obscure the series:
“Nadie” is Nynaeve
“Mayela” or “Maryela” (couldn’t make it out exactly) is Moiraine
“The Dark” is the Dark One
“Shaman” is Wisdom
“Your City” is Tar Valon
“Your Sisters” is Aes Sedai
“Read the Signs” is most likely wielding the power or channeling
It is also important to note that the dialog herein does not necessarily reflect the final script for the show and could’ve been created in this form to help highlight certain attributes in the character to help with the cast selection process.
Part One
Nynaeve: Where are my friends?
Lan: How did you find me?
Nynaeve: are they alive?
Lan: why do you have that sword?
Nynaeve: because it’s sharp. I won’t ask again
Lan: They’re not here
Nynaeve: What did she do to them?
Lan: We were separated, [Moiraine] was wounded. ??????????
Nynaeve: You do want to learn how to be less vague… and fast
Lan: You think you know this world, but you know nothing girl ???????? the Dark itself is coming for your friends and [Moiraine] has fought forces with everything she has to keep them safe. They are the only thing she cares about. They are the reason she’s in this condition
Nynaeve: if she cares about them so much, why did she leave them?
Lan: she didn’t. I did
Nynaeve: where are they?
Lan: I don’t know… but [Moiraine] will… You’re a healer
Nynaeve: you think I’m going to help her?
Lan: she’s the only one who can find them.. if you…
Nynaeve: how will she find them?
Part Two
Moiraine: … [the guilt] is so much worse that you can’t fight back
Nynaeve: what are you doing here?
Moiraine: I wanted to walk
Nynaeve: here.. in our village
Moiraine: I’d ask the same of you. The shaman brought you here with her. A baby whose parents passed but no one seems to remember exactly when. That’s the thing about these little towns. No one keeps track of anything. Births. Deaths…
Nynaeve: That doesn’t mean we don’t remember. That shaman. The woman who raised me. When she was only 13 years old and realized she could read the signs, she went to your city. She walked from here. It took her months. And when she got there, your sisters took one look at her ragged clothes and her peasant accent and turned her away. She was small. Yes. And from a little town, but she remembered, until the day she died. And so do I.
Moiraine: See, everyone says you’re too young to be shaman, but I disagree. I think you’re strong, even if you [had your ceremony] a year or two ago
Nynaeve: it’s been five years
Moiraine: that makes you 25.. 26?
Nynaeve: Doesn’t mean I can’t do my job. And that’s to protect this town. Even if it is from you. Enjoy your walk.

Chapter 23 _ Yo La Amo
The following morning the girls awoke to another storm of messages and missed calls. They had no idea what they were waking up to but they knew whatever it was, they could and would face it together.
“What is going on now? Are they freaking out about the bridge thing?” Valentina said as she sat up beginning to unlock her phone.
“Val… that’s not… that’s not what they’re freaking out about. They’re talking about you cheating on me and then trying to make it up with the bridge. This article I was sent says Lauren went on the record to say you two have a thing…” Juliana said running her hand through her hair in frustration.
“I’m gonna kill her. Who the hell does she think she is and what the hell is Lauren thinking? I have done nothing to make her think she’d even have a chance. I didn’t even know she was gay!” Valentina said frustrated and turning her body to face Juliana, “Juls, you have to know this is all fake. I would never do that to you, to us. I love you. I am gonna fix this…” She said caressing Juliana’s cheek as Juliana leaned into her touch.
“I know. I trust you but for safe measures as of right now I don’t want you seeing that Lauren girl again because I just wanna beat her ass right now. No joke. What kind of friend does that?” Juliana said honestly.
Valentina began to laugh catching Juliana off guard.
“De que te ries?” Juliana said confused.
Valentina grabbed Juliana’s head and kissed her forehead. “I love you. The fact that you want to ‘beat her ass’ makes me love you even more because I just pictured that and I gotta say, not bad.” She finished causing Juliana to also laugh at the idea.
“I honestly don’t understand why the world cares so much about me and my family. Like why do gossip sites even exist? There’s no facts to what Lauren said.” Valentina said leaning into Juliana’s neck.
Juliana let out a small sigh before grabbing Valentina’s left hand. “Val. This was your people… It was published by El Centro. I think this was your sister. Look at the byline, isn’t that the same Mayela that was after your brother and conspired with Eva? Renata told me a bit about her and that drama.”
Valentina sat up instantly at that taking the phone from Juliana. “What! Okay, no. Get dressed, we’re dealing with this right now. I don’t care that she is my sister, she is going to listen and I need you there. Please.”
“Wait what are you going to do?” Juliana said standing up as Valentina gained a determined look on her face.
“I’m going to do what I should have done from the beginning. I’m gonna put an end to this. She’s had her fun but this too far.” Valentina said determined.
They got ready and within the hour headed to the offices. They were instantly met by the press as they drove into Grupo Carvajal. Once in the parking lot Valentina made her way over to open Juliana’s door and held her hand from the moment she stepped out the car. They decided to show the world that this was not going to come between them, that despite all of the drama, they were together and were going to be okay. Valentina had a proud look on her face to have Juliana’s hand in hers as she went to face the one woman she thought she would never have to defend herself against.
As they walked into the offices, everyone was staring at them causing Valentina to stand taller and more confident with Juliana by her side.
Making her way to the main offices she saw that Leon and Lucia already had Eva and Mayela in the conference room. “Val, what are you doing here, I’m handing it.” Her father said looking up to see his youngest daughter and her girlfriend in front of them.
Valentina let go of Juliana’s hand walked across the room slapping her sister. “How could you? Don’t you understand that I love Juliana? Do you know the damage you could’ve caused had she believed this? & you Mayela, you were my friend… who the hell do you think you are to publish something like that, attacking my character. Attacking the one thing that you were always sure about and had, my loyalty. You know I can end your petty career right? A snap of the finger and you’re gone from this company and this field of work. I’m not here to play games. This is real life, this is my life and that woman standing next to my father, is the woman that I love and I will not allow anyone to hurt her. Not even you Eva. I’m sick and tired of you thinking you have all the answers. You couldn’t stop Guille from marrying Renata, you couldn’t stop dad from marrying Lucia, what makes you think you’re gonna be able to keep me away from Juliana? What? Third time’s the charm? Think, Eva! Truly stop and think, you are literally just pushing the entire family away. Any faith I had in you, is gone. I want nothing to do with you.”
Eva had never seen her little sister so grown up and with such determination.
“That’s what you don’t understand. She doesn’t belong here. You need to end this little game before you ruin your life for her. You’re not gay, she’s only confusing you.” Eva said not backing down.
Leon grabbed Valentina before she had a chance to attack Eva. “Ya! Evangelina, stop that right now! This is your sister, for crying out loud! She shouldn’t have to defend herself against you.”
“Yo la amo. Amo a Juliana. Eva, I love her and I don’t care what you think about my relationship but I’m not going to allow you to attack either of us. I’ve had enough. Juliana is the girl that I love and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make sure she knows that. I am not confused about anything, she’s only made the facts clearer. I am in love with a woman. The most amazing, caring, honest, talented, and beautiful woman I have ever met and I don’t care who knows it. I’m not going to allow you to come between that. As of right now, I don’t want to see you, I only came to tell you that I’m done. Keep your distance, it’s what your best at anyway.” Valentina said walking towards Juliana who’s hand was being held by Lucia’s.
“Dad, I don’t know what you’re gonna do with your daughter but I want Mayela gone. She nearly destroyed Guillermo and Renata, I’m not running that risk with Juliana. I’m going live with Victoria tonight and setting the record straight because I am not going to allow the world to think I would ever do something like that to the girl that I love with all of my heart.” Valentina told her father as she held onto a silent Juliana protectively.
Her father had a look of pride as she spoke to him, replying, “Mayela signed her resignation letter right before you arrived. I will deal with your sister. Just please don’t make this a bigger deal than it’s already become okay, that’s all I ask, but yes I already set up the slot for you tonight because I thought you’d want to defend yourself.”
“Thank you papi.” Valentina said hugging her father. “Nos vamos, amor?” She said turning to Juliana who simply shrugged her shoulders in response.
As they walked out, all eyes were on them once again and this time Valentina had a huge smile on her face as she had her arm around Juliana’s shoulders with their fingers still interlocked.
When they arrived to Valentina’s car Juliana finally spoke. “That was insane Valentina… I love you. I love you very much but you didn’t have to cut your sister out for me. That’s your sister. In her sick twisted ways she was only looking out for you.”
Valentina became confused as Juliana tried to justify the one person who had been completely against her from the beginning. “I don’t know how you can defend her? Juliana, she was not going to stop. She thought publicly ruining my character was going to end out relationship without measuring the consequences of what that could do to me as a person and don’t even get me started on my career. What kind of family does that? I understand she’s against me loving another woman but this went way too far. I don’t want to argue about this okay, I just can’t look at her right now. This has gone way too far and I need to stay away from her for a while because I don’t know how to look at her and not be furious and disappointed. So please, don’t side with her because she had no right to do what she did.”
“I’m not siding with her. I’m not saying what she did was right because obviously it isn’t but I just don’t want you to regret this later, I love you too much to see you suffer over this. You have every right to be mad and upset at her, she didn’t take you into consideration at all with her actions; she did a lot of damage and not just publicly. You have a right to feel everything you’re feeling because your feelings are completely valid. Just please don’t bottle this in, it’ll only hurt you to do that.” Juliana said calmly tucking a strand of hair behind Valentina’s ear.
Valentina made eye contact with Juliana as Juliana caressed behind her ear. “Juls, I can’t forgive her right now. I don’t even want to look at her. I would have loved to have her come around but at this point I think that’s never going to happen and if it does I fear it might be too late.”
Juliana gave Valentina a soft sad smile before speaking. “Baby, just allow yourself to feel everything you need to feel, okay? I know that despite everything Eva is still Eva to you and everything she’s done, concerning us, hurts.”
As Valentina allowed her shoulders to relax she let her walls come down understanding that Juliana only wanted to be there for her and help in any way she could.
“Can we go grab a sandwich and head to the park, I don’t want to think about this anymore, I just want peace and quiet with you?” Valentina asked in a whisper.
“Anything you want, baby.” Juliana said as she pulled her seatbelt on.
They drove silently to The Sandwich Spot near the city college. Once they arrived, they walked hand in hand towards the front door. While they waited in line they looked over the menu on the wall to their right.
“Hey Val, what can I get you guys?” The girl taking their order asked looking at them with a bright smile definitely noticing the way Valentina held Juliana’s hand for comfort.
“Um, I’ll take the usual on a sweet roll no pickles or onions & Juls said she wanted a BLT on sliced wheat. Thanks, Sarah.” Valentina said as she got her wallet to pay for the two of them.
They took a seat at a small table against the left wall.
“So who’s Sarah?” Juliana asked Valentina after a moment of silence.
“She’s an intern at the company. She’s a journalism student here at City College and works here part time, she’s actually how I found out about this place. We’ve been friends for a few years now. I’ll introduce you guys officially when she comes with our sandwiches.” Valentina said interlocking her fingers with Juliana’s across the table.
Juliana smiled knowing Valentina wanted to ignore the way people had been staring that them since they entered the shop. “Okay.”
“You notice all the eyeballs, right?” Valentina said whispering so only Juliana could hear.
“Oh yeah definitely but I don’t care. Let them stare, I have the most beautiful girlfriend ever, they’re just jealous.” Juliana said reaching across the table to kiss Valentina softly on the lips.
Valentina smiled when Juliana sat back down. “I love you.” She told her letting out a small giggle.
A couple of girls walked over to them and Juliana tensed at their presence.
“Hi, sorry to interrupt… you’re Valentina Carvajal, right?” The girl in the yellow crop top asked knowing the answer.
Valentina rolled her eyes before looking up at them and saying that she was indeed and expecting to a negative reaction for today’s article.
Surprising them, the girl suddenly flashed a huge smile and excited said, “We just wanted to say thank you for being brave enough to openly date the girl you like despite the world being the way it is. This is my girlfriend and we love you guys. Juliantina gives us hope, thank you. We know, and seeing the two of you here confirms it, today’s article is a lie so don’t worry, many of us didn’t believe it.”
Valentina gave Juliana’s hand a squeeze as she spoke. “That was definitely not what I was expecting to hear so thank you. I’m happy to hear you and others didn’t believe any of that. This is the beautiful Juliana, my better half and I would never do anything to break her heart. I love her too much. Thank you.” She said as she brought up Juliana’s hand to her lips in order to place a quick kiss on it.
Juliana simply observed the way her girlfriend interacted with the fan while also observing how quiet the other girl was. At the mention of her name she smiled at them and nodded in a sign of hello.
The girls left as Sarah walked over with their sandwiches. Valentina introduced Juliana and Sarah, beaming at Sarah’s excitement of finally meeting the girl Valentina could never shut up about.
Afterwards they drove the short distance to Land Park to enjoy their sandwiches on a bench overlooking the pond on the west side of it. They spent the rest of the afternoon there before heading to Gunther’s Ice Cream for a quick treat on their way back to Grupo Carvajal for Valentina’s interview with Victoria.
Once in the studio, ready to start the interview, Veronica asked what was off limits understanding this was a difficult topic given who was behind the publication. The only limit that was placed was revealing it was Eva who pushed the article out, everything else was free to speak about.
Veronica: Good evening, today we have a very special guest. She is known by many as the princess of this media empire. She is a woman of impeccable character and a dear friend. Please welcome, Valentina Carvajal.
Valentina: Thank you for having me, Veronica.
Veronica: So let’s get started, we all know why you are here. The article. Tell me a little bit about it.
Valentina: Well, today was a day of betrayal, but not by me. There were many factors leading up to the article but I think what hurt the most was knowing who wrote it and who was behind it. Now, I don’t want you going after the reporter, she was only following orders, but it still hurt nonetheless because I considered her a friend.
Veronica: So you’re not angry?
Valentina: Oh, I’m definitely angry, this was a direct attack from people I trusted. This was done out of malice to destroy my relationship by someone I love so I am quite mad but most of all I’m very disappointed in them.
Veronica: I see. Well, tell me a little about Lauren De Leon, who is she to you and why would she go public with something of this magnitude only for it to be a lie?
Valentina: Lauren. Well, Lauren is a colleague, a peer from the photography program at Sac State. As to why she would say this, I’m not sure. I’ve never once given her a reason to think there could ever be anything between us. Anyone who knows me and had been in my life since I met the wonderful Juliana knows I do not stop talking about her. She always find her way into every conversation I have because she is always on my mind. It is true that Lauren had been at my house often but it was always to talk about a project she is working on and asked for my help. It was a collaborative process that always took place in the living room. Something that many people can back up. As of right now, I’ve not seen one concrete fact from her statements, everything in that article can easily be debunked. The pool? It’s January… in Placerville, CA. It’s been in the 30’s and 40’s since November, you really think I would willingly go into a freezing pool simply to cheat on the woman that I love? The “kiss” please… do give me the details that I am not aware of. Show me the videos, you know they would exist if that kiss truly happened and especially if it was in my house. I can get the videos of every meeting we had for her if she’s willing to take this any further. I’m sorry, but she is definitely not my type. My type has a name and her name is Juliana Valdes.
Veronica: So there is nothing going on between you two?
Valentina: Definitely not. & she can absolutely take this up with my lawyer if she decides to pursue this any further.
Veronica: Okay, well we shall see how she reacts. What would you like to say as a closing note?
Valentina: Until today I’ve refrained from the spotlight so everyone thinks they know me from social media and gossip forums but they do not know the real me. I am not going to allow my name to be slandered like this again. I am in a beautiful committed relationship with a woman that I love more and more every day. People will say whatever they want but she and I know what we have. & what we have is each other and the love of those around us. Today we spoke with a couple that said we, Juliantina, inspired hope. That is very humbling and eye opening because until today I didn’t, and if I’m honest still don’t completely understand why there is such a fanbase to our relationship when we are just two girls who fell in love. I have the privilege of being who I am openly and having a tremendous support system but I know many don’t so to you I want to say that I’m here. We all have our journeys but if there is something I’ve learned it’s that at the end of the day I have to live with me so I have to love and accept me for all that I am.
Veronica: That’s beautiful. Thank you for coming tonight.
Valentina: Thank you for having me.
After the interview, Veronica thanked Valentina and Juliana for the opportunity to speak on the topic of their relationship. Soon after, the couple headed out hand in hand as the press awaited them by the parking lot exit.

Business Powerful quake hits Venezuela coast, damage limited
Business Powerful quake hits Venezuela coast, damage limited Business Powerful quake hits Venezuela coast, damage limited http://www.nature-business.com/business-powerful-quake-hits-venezuela-coast-damage-limited/
Business CARACAS (Reuters) – A major earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck Venezuela’s eastern coast, home to largely poor fishing communities, on Tuesday afternoon, shaking buildings as far away as Colombian capital Bogota and knocking power out in parts of Trinidad. But the quake’s depth – 76.5 miles (123 km) below the surface – appeared to have mitigated the damage. Venezuelan officials said there were no immediate reports of injuries and two sources at state oil company PDVSA [PDVSA.UL] told Reuters the OPEC member’s refineries and oil fields were operating normally. PDVSA did not immediately comment. Venezuela is not in a good shape to deal with a natural disaster. It is already wrestling with a crippling economic crisis with medicine running short, hospitals barely able to function and some severe shortages of basics such as chicken and milk. The tremor – one of the country’s strongest ever – hit at 5.31 p.m. (2131 GMT). Along Venezuela’s picturesque palm tree-dotted northern coast, residents said the long quake was terrifying and frightened people into dashing into the streets. “I had gotten into bed to watch the news on TV and my bed started to move as if it was made of water,” said Elia Sanchez, a doctor in Cumana, the capital of the eastern state of Sucre that was the closest to the coastal epicenter. “We had to go down nine floors, it felt like it would never end.” Rosymer Rodriguez, also in Cumana, said she could not see any significant damage but that people were still fearful. “There are still people in the street. There are people packing bags in case there are aftershocks,” said Rodriguez. Damage in Caracas was limited, but the quake did tilt the top five floors of an abandoned 45-story skyscraper known as the ‘Tower of David’, Interior Minister Nestor Reverol said. The tower, originally intended to be a bank center but abandoned since 1994 and later occupied by squatters for years, dominates Caracas’ skyline. It features in the U.S. television spy drama “Homeland”. Pictures after the quake showed the building’s top floors, which are unfinished, leaning sideways. Structural damage is seen on the top five floors of an abandoned 45-storey skyscraper known as the “Tower of David” after an earthquake in Caracas, Venezuela August 21, 2018. REUTERS/Carlos Garcia RawlinsOut east, the governor of Sucre called for calm. “Do not fall victim to psychological terror, messages about a tsunami and all that,” said governor Edwin Rojas, who belongs to President Nicolas Maduro’s Socialist Party. The Information Ministry did not respond to a request for comment for additional information. ANDES, CARIBBEAN HIT The quake was felt in capital Caracas, neighboring Colombia and nearby island nations like Trinidad and Tobago, and St. Lucia, to the west and north. In Trinidad and Tobago, there were initial reports of some cracks to buildings, cars damaged when concrete debris fell on them, and loss of electricity. Traffic jams formed on highways in Port of Spain, but there were no immediate reports of casualties there either. Colombia’s government said the country was unharmed too, although workers dashed out of high-rise blocks in the mountainous capital Bogota. “It was a moment of panic, we thought the worst,” said Jimena Valencia, a 29-year-old administrator in the north of Bogota. The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Center canceled an earlier warning of a possible tsunami along the coast near the epicenter, some 190 kilometers (118 miles) from Cumana. United States Geological Survey geophysicist Jessica Turner said the quake’s depth would have dampened some of the shaking. “A 7.3 magnitude quake is going to cause some damage, particularly as in this area, structures are vulnerable. The Earth is able to absorb some of the energy, but a 7.3 quake produces a lot of energy,” she said by telephone. Episode 81: A Really Retroactive Recap
Well Well...
Episode 81...IRONICALLY one of the most Juliantina-less eps in recent memory, there were some interesting revelations (One of which I MISSED, please help lol) let's get to the ones I ACTUALLY got to watch:
Oh shit...Lupe spilled the whole thing just like that, I mean that’s some Galaxy-Brain shit right there, poor Lucia is gonna need a moment to digest all that, also LOL at Lucia pointing out Val & Juls lovely friendship, Gurl ....you're her Suegra and you don't even know it (yet) lol.
OMFG ..that fuckin' Mayela class-shamming Renata? Honestly, when is she going to get bitch-slaped? Also, No Novela OTP is complete without some explicit socio-economical struggle dynamic bullshit lol ...So just like Juliantina, Renata and Guille are in it to win it my friends. Mayela can choke on that wine for all I care, you ain't no Iceberg gurl, you ain't sinking NO ONEs ship on my watch, GO AWAY.
I did feel it was slightly off character for (both usual SWEETHEARTS) Guille and Val not to call her out on her bullshit? Maybe they're used to her being like that and just ignore it at this point? Needless to say, I feel she's just there to create drama between Guille and Renata at this point and honestly can we just Thank U, Next this bitch already!? So done with her ...SO DONE.
Slow Clap for Renata single-handedly shutting that shit DOWN with a smile on her face, YOU GO GURL.
Its hilarious (and kinda sad) that Juls was SURE Jacobo wasn't her dad because of how ignorant and violent he WASN'T ...LOL but also ( T__T).
Lucia CONFIRMED that Jacobo is Leon and her face said it all, holy shit things are gonna get cray cray, Johnny better not pull some shit, Im sure one of the two Dork-Dads is not gonna make it, and so far Im sure its gonna be Beltran, IF something happens to Jacobo... :(.
Val telling Guille to look after himself and Renata... Awwww It was so nice of her, she KNOWS her brother would do anything to make her feel better, even if that meant sacrificing himself and his relationship for a bit, and as the good siblings they are she is telling him he doesn't have to do it anymore, she can take care of herself, I do think that HOT MESS of a dinner(lunch?) helped her put things into perspective quite a bit, now take some of your own advice and go look out for your own happiness Gurl! (...according to next ep's previews ...she will :))
No crying Val (Yay!) = NO Give-Val-A-Break edit, We’ll see about that on tomorrow's ep lol.
_______________________________________________________________________
Also, I’m not saying you should learn spanish just so you can grasp the entirety of Maca's Cultura Colectiva Interview...but I AM saying you should totally learn spanish just so you can fully enjoy that (obviously scripted) Cringefest Extravaganza:
From Maca's initial slight discomfort with the interviewer awkwardly crushin' on her, to her then playfully going along with it until the whole thing goes sour (and her switching FULLY into her argentinian accent) to those HILARIOUSLY awful clips of her past endeavours (the "Maldito Internet/Fuckin' Internet" part got me laughin’ my ass off lol) the 99% bit, the BURNING HAIR XD...I mean I was cracking up till the last second.
You can always count on Maca to give an Excellent-thought-provoking-heartfelt-MEME ABUNDANT- interview lol.
Due to some Technical Difficulties (I'll be without decent Internet until the 4th...PERFECT TIMING lol) I haven't been able to watch the latest full eps...and the recap vids I usually AM able to find are mostly Juliantina centric so I totally missed Guille finding out about Leon/Jacobo....
FUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKK :( I really wanna know how he took it?, If anyone knows where I can watch (or PLEASE upload it?) that actual scene please lemme know... Val is gonna LOSE HER SHIT when she finds out, Im still deciding if in a good or a bad way? Probably BOTH.
Going by Maca's Mysterious Surprise, Barbs' latest "Tacos de Tripa" twitter comments, them obviously filming something in character on Valentine's day (I thought it was probably a Valentines Day Promo or something like that but NOPE, its was definitely for something else) and the official Amar a Muerte Twitter account latching on to the Juliantina Around the World campaign (originally organized by fans) I'm 90% sure there's some sort of Spin Off/ Season 2 coming.
(IF NOT this is totally gonna become the HALF-LIFE-3 of wlw shows LOL).
So MAYBEEEEEEEEE I'll have more than 6 recaps left to do, huh? ...TIME (and SPACE lol) will tell...K, Thanks, Bye.
#Juliantina#Amar A Muerte#Lucia has some thinking to do#Guille and Renata Forever#Mayela CANCELED CLUB MEMBER N°1#Val You had enough time and space already?#Juls you're doing amazing sweetie

Mexico Takes Small Steps Toward Medical Marijuana Legalization
Peter Hecht of Leafly Reports:
Amid the vast volcano fields spanning the central Mexican states of Michoacán and Guanajuato, Hector Nieto cultivates a secret medicinal garden. He hopes its flowering plants represent a cure for his nation’s suffering.
In 2015, Mexico's Supreme Court authorized the importation of CBD cannabis for an eight-year-old girl with intractable seizures. But few others have gained access.
Nieto, 44, is a farmer who makes his living selling broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes and peppers. Beyond those crops lies a modest cannabis garden. He grows it for free, he says, for a small group of patients suffering conditions including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, epilepsy and fibromyalgia.
In a legal Mexican cannabis economy, Nieto might be a prized artisan grower, perhaps even a wealthy one. In March, his Zamaldelica strain, a heady Sativa with a healthy dose of cannabidiol (CBD), won top prize in a rare Mexican cannabis cup, sponsored in Guadalajara by the Spanish company Ace Seeds.
Will that medical cannabis industry open anytime soon in Mexico? Among those with a vested interest in the business here, the consensus seems to be yes, a legal market will open, but no, it will not happen soon, despite the recent landslide victory of Andrés Manuel López Obrador. Mexico’s new president-elect has declared himself open but not decided on the issue. “It is a subject that must be debated,” he said when asked about legalization earlier this year.
Graciela Pushed Mexico’s Court to Act

The incoming president inherits a nation still reeling from a drug war that’s produced a dozen years of cartel violence and death. At the same time, Mexico is taking small steps toward medical legalization.
Last June, inspired by a Nov. 2015 Mexican Supreme Court decision authorizing importation of non-psychoactive CBD cannabis for Graciela Elizalde, an eight-year-old girl with intractable seizures, Mexico’s Congress tepidly voted to legalize medical cannabis in this nation of 130 million.
That vote represented Mexico’s first step away from national cannabis probation since outlawing it in 1917. But it allowed a narrow pathway for a few select patients. In December 2017, the government announced guidelines permitting importation of “pharmacological derivatives of cannabis,” oils, pills and foods with less than one-percent THC, with higher potencies requiring special government approval for individual patients.
Regulations are still being refined for eventual medical cannabis stores, which may be as much as two years away from opening. Those dispensaries are expected to be barred from selling smokable cannabis.

Coming Out of the Shadow Economy
Those steps were small, but they were enough to coax a grower like Hector Nieto out of the shadows. In late May, he brought some of his prize-winning plants to show off at the Canna Mexico World Summit, which drew hopeful Mexican entrepreneurs and would-be domestic and foreign investors.
Amidst such capitalist fanfare, Nieto stood out as a humble realist in a troubled country. He told me he merely dreamed of a legal space for cultivators in Mexico. He doesn’t expect to get rich. Nieto hopes to just keep on producing cannabis at little or no cost to patients. He’d also like to see more university research into the plant’s medical benefits.
“The message I want to get out is that we in Mexico know how to produce medical cannabis,” he told me. “I’m not interested in the economics right now. I am interested in this medicine. I hope that this plant will be freed in Mexico.”
A Risk Worth Taking
In an interview with Leafly, Julio Sánchez y Tépoz, secretary of the Federal Commission for Protection Against Health Risks (or COFEPRIS), said medical cannabis stores are unlikely to open until at least 2019. He said the government is refining regulations to make that happen.
One activist makes risky trips to California to obtain CBD medicine for patients in Mexico.
“I believe as soon as the new regulations are put into place, we are going to see cannabis stories (opening) very fast,” said Sánchez y Tépoz, whose agency is the Mexican equivalent of the Food and Drug Administration in the United States.
Although Mexico’s Congress legalized medical cannabis more than a year ago, legislators created no legal structure around the cultivation and sale of the product. So far, Mexico has granted only 308 permits for hemp-based CBD products to be imported for patients from Europe, Canada, and Israel.
The slow pace has advocates such as Juan Alvaro Cortes, 49, of Guadalajara taking matters into their own hands. Alvaro Cortes heads a venture called Canna Pharma that eventually hopes to produce legal CBD products in Mexico. Meanwhile, he makes furtive trips to California to buy CBD products for an organization that works to get the non-intoxicating medicine to children under doctors’ care for epilepsy and other conditions.
“I know it’s a risk,” he told me. “But it’s worth taking that risk.”
Risk and Opportunity

At the Canna Mexico conference, Vicente Fox called on Mexico’s Congress to accelerate full cannabis legalization with domestic research, cultivation, production, retail sales and, eventually, exportation. And he put out a call for investors to participate in this coming economy. “We’re putting all the pieces together,” he said. “But in Mexico, we say, ‘Only money dances.’”
We’re putting all the pieces together. But in Mexico, we say, ‘Only money dances.’
Vicente Fox, Former President of Mexico
Fox opened the event with a sobering discussion of Mexico’s drug violence. But the conference at times took on a frenzied energy, which at times seemed perplexing, if not awkward. Mexico, wounded by violence, still lacks any discernable cannabis business sector. And yet it was being hyped at the conference as the gateway to an incredible market, one that could eventually extend from the Americas to Spain and Portugal.
Uruguay has emerged as the first legal cannabis industry in South America. Chile, Brazil, Peru, Columbia, and Costa Rica have all enacted decriminalization measures. But Nevada investment banker Leslie Bocskor, speaking in between conference sessions, hailed Mexico’s potential entry into the cannabis market as an international game changer.
“The (full) market that Mexico can establish by being the first country to regulate it in the Spanish-speaking and Portuguese-speaking worlds is 730 million people, double the entire US market,” gushed Bocskor, president of Electrum Partners, a Las Vegas consulting firm for legal cannabis businesses.
But some would-be investors are proceeding with considerable caution.
Marco Hoffman, CEO of the Washington-based cannabis production company Evergreen Herbal Distribution, came to Mexico on an exploratory trip to assess the risk of investing in a potentially important emerging market.
“For someone who assesses risk, I see opportunity,” Hoffman told me. “Finding the right people (to partner with) would be the first thing.” Then he added a qualifier: “If there is an underground market contingent (in Mexico) trying to muscle its way in, we would want no part of that.”
We Are Saying ‘Enough!’
Hoffman’s reticence speaks to that other factor in Mexico: drug cartel violence that’s unlikely to play well in any investment prospectus. Drug violence, from warring cartels and a disastrous government crackdown, is blamed for 200,0o0 deaths since 2006—and a homicide record of more than 29,000 killings in 2017.
“This is the place where we are saying basta— enough!” said Fernando Belaunzarán, a Mexico City Congressman and legalization advocate. Belaunzarán supports Fox’s view that a regulated cannabis economy could simultaneously offer economic opportunities while curbing violence. “We have had tremendous pain. Last year was one of the most violent years in centuries. And in 2018, it is looking more violent. This is a terrible humanitarian crisis.”
“Let’s say enough!” he railed in Spanish to attendees at the Canna Mexico conference. “Enough after 90 years of prohibition in Mexico! How much more pain must we endure?”
Enthusiasm only goes so far in Mexico, though. Six years ago, Belaunzarán introduced a sweeping but ultimately unsuccessful cannabis legalization bill. Later, he acted as a public advocate for the family of Graciela Elizalde during her Supreme Court fight to use medical cannabis to treat seizures from Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome. He noted there are medical cannabis dispensaries just across the border in San Yisdro, California, but nowhere in Mexico. Belaunzarán says he believes Mexico—as a country—can begin to heal once that changes.
