ALSO this second episode confirms my theory that each character has their own art style!! Which is SO COOL. Moon/Xiao Yueqing's style is the new cartoony style at the beginning of ep.2 when we learn who she really is and Nice's (especifically Lin Ling's Nice's) is the more comic book style... which makes me wonder which style OG Nice had. Even the villains (as we saw with Lin Ling's boss) have their own art style!

I need to do a post collecting all of them at the end of the show... but to visualize:

Hc: Loki's Nordic runes are really good, he writes them like they're stamped on, but his English is the most incomprehensible ancient calligraphy you've ever seen and his math is even worse.

look, i know this is a pipe dream at best and sheer stupidity at worst, but like. there is so much discourse and in-depth analysis of SPN on this site that I feel like it would be so interesting to compile it somewhere. call it a collection of essays, call it an anthology, do a physical formatted version or don't, IDGAF, but the nuanced takes I keep stumbling upon in this little hellhole are genuinely baffling. some are a million times better than most holier-than-thou textbooks about symbolism in audiovisuals, and most convey a passion and enthusiasm that are unparallelled.

so like. is this a thing. does someone wanna gather like a gremlin coven and put together a compilation, slash collection, of our SPN brainrot yapping. i do know that i will be compiling my own rants if only for my own sake, but idk man i feel like there is so much talent in this site that building something collective could lead to a truly beautiful result!

finished reading the irl james fitzjames biography. i enjoyed it but i'm unsure how i feel about the author's choice to write it like an essay length effort to convince me to agree to go on a date with his friend who he's wingmanning for.

I think with Felix we should always be sure to apply the Rule Of Adrien, in which we remember that Felix was canonically created specifically to surpass Adrien in every way, and thus does everything Adrien can to a greater extent. As demonstrated in canon-

Adrien's at the top of his class? Felix has already graduated and is in university. Adrien does fencing? Felix is a martial arts expert. Adrien likes horses? Felix owns some, and has won awards for riding and training them. Adrien is in peak human condition? Felix is outright superhuman.

Therefore: Adrien canonically speaks five languages? Felix is obviously fluent in upwards of twenty.

I can't stop thinking about the decision to make Johnny's motif instrument a cello. Not an electric guitar, not drums, or anything related to rock music. A cello.

Deep, haunting, elegant yet mysterious. It's something I'd argue would fit Alt better, and yet, it's associated with Johnny. Why is that?

I would LOVE to pick the brain of Marcin Przybyłowicz for that decision. It's fucking awesome and it's so oddly fitting, but I fear my knowledge regarding music analysis isn't as great as my literary chops. But I think about this choice ALL the time.

Am I the only one who kind of misses when comic artists would draw some whimsy into their work like in the 90s? Like don’t get me wrong some of the art styles were uglyyy back then and the consistent style they use now is okay but it’s all so generic and the same no matter who’s inking or coloring. All of the whimsy goes into special effects or the background or monster designs. Even character design feels kind of forced or done already so when you study the 90s for your own learning of drawing, it becomes apparent that somewhere along the line an industry standard was placed and the less followed that standard is, the less popular the comic is…

Between each impulse comic no matter who drew him, the face would be differently shaped, the hair would be drawn differently or the eyes and nose etc. in each panel would be different because movement is what changes a comic from still to real. It’s why Arcane has such good animation because they did not stop at still frames for even a second even if it was a character far off in the background, they still moved or twitched. The flow never stopped which made it feel all the more moving as the episode passed. They had fun with it, they were creative with it, as artists should.

In wonder women #5 you can tell that Cassie’s head was copy and pasted several times and only the mouth changed slightly as she spoke. I really hope that it was a time crunch thing to get the comic done before deadlines but idk, see more of Daniel stampere’s work and every women has the same face for some reason. It’s just stuff you notice before reading the actual words.

AAAAAA bro….. my dude…. the thing is i always feel crazy talking about them together bc i think like they’ve only publicly interacted like 3 times? LOL (i have watched and documented every interview minty and grebby has appeared in for the leafs/marlies. it’s so bad. me being sick has actually helped me not be as weird about it since i had less screen time in general)

but even then me and @tufzy just constructed this whole separate reality in our heads for months about how like they prob got closer after getting called up and minty is the only familiar guy for grebby there due to being on the marlies together + no russian player on the leafs to fall back on for help so grebby is just sticking to minty’s side the whole time, and minty even tho he’s a lil popular with the leaf boys he still is looking out for his linemate. even when they get sent down they’re still drawn to each other out of habit. but i’m always like second guessing like wow this is pure delusion like maybe they don’t even fuck with each other like that it’s just coworker friendliness this rpf shit is truly a disease fr fr 🙏
