Some books that come immediately to mind are the Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner; Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston; the Protector of the Small series by Tamora Pierce; Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall; King of Shadows by Susan Cooper; the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo; and May the Best Man Win by Zabe Ellor. I'm sure there are others, but those are a few off the top of my head.

Mod opinion: I have heard of this book before, but I don't really feel like the target audience either, so I haven't checked it out. I do like the idea of lovers-to-rivals though.
