So there's a take that crops up every so often in the Breath of the Wild fandom, and it goes something like this:
Windblight Ganon is such a piece of cake! If Revali were as talented as he claimed to be, he wouldn't have been defeated by it, so clearly he's just an arrogant blowhard.
I disagree. Because while Windblight might have been relatively easy for the player to defeat, circumstances conspired against Revali in every possible way.
Strike 1: The Blight Ganons were tailor-made to defeat the Champions
While it's not stated outright, the Blights seem to be custom-made to put their respective opponents at the worst possible disadvantage. So while Link can avoid the whirlwinds on the ground, they would be very disruptive to Revali's Gale (something he's only been able to do consistently for a short while). Arrows, too, can easily get blown off course by the wind even when using a heavy bow (so can a Rito, who is presumably lighter than a Hylian).
If, on top of that, it was raining (implied by memories #16 and #17), then Revali's favoured bomb arrows would have been useless. Not a great recipe for a fight.
Strike 2: Rito don't see well in the dark
Botw is a game that doesn't tell you a lot upfront, but you can find a wealth of information in every little corner. Case in point, in Gerudo Town there's a Rito named Frita. And she has a very interesting tidbit to share if you talk to her at night.
[Image ID: A Rito named Frita in Gerudo Town says: "Us Rito... We haven't got the best night vision, to be honest."]
When the Calamity emerged, an unnatural darkness blanketed the land. A darkness that persists from its appearance all the way through Link and Zelda fleeing and their final stand at Fort Hateno, up until Zelda temporarily sealed the Calamity (memories #15, #16 and #17).
That’s without even mentioning the laser show Windblight Ganon puts on. Ever encountered a car with LED lights on a dark road? Now imagine how Revali felt.
Strike 3: Revali had to fly non-stop for hours to get to Medoh
After sinking some hours into playing botw, you probably get used to warping all across the map via the shrines. Going from Lurelin to Rito Village is a matter of seconds. And if the Sheikah had been able to unlock the Sheikah Slate fully in the past, that would have been a massive boon to the war effort.
Unfortunately, they didn't. Which means that, when Calamity Ganon emerged, all the Champions had to take the long road to their Divine Beasts.
Now what does that mean for Revali? We can hazard a pretty good guess, but we don't have to, because the art book tells us: Revali flew straight from Lanayru East Gate to Rito Village. It's hard to tell exactly how long that would have taken him, but I'm estimating that would be about 8-10 hours flying non-stop.
[Image ID: A map of Hyrule showing the presumed routes the Champions took to get to their Divine Beasts. Revali's is a straight line across Hyrule.]
Which means Revali (like the other Champions) was probably already exhausted by the time he got to Medoh.
Aaaaaand that's three strikes, he's out!
But if that's not enough for you yet, here's one more thing. Admittedly, this is less solidly canon than the previous parts, but it's conjecture that, in my opinion, is backed up by the Champions' Ballad DLC.
Strike 4: Revali lacked his best weapon and may have been injured
The artbook shows us another salient tidbit. Revali could have detoured if he wanted to, but he didn't: he flew in the straightest possible line across Hyrule Field.
Hyrule Field, better known as the center of the chaos at the time.
Can we really expect a Champion, especially a Champion who's so eager to prove himself, to not stop and at least try to help? And while trying to help, what might have happened to him?
When you fight the Blights in the illusory realm, you gain a set amount of equipment, implied to be what the Champions carried with them at the time. And with Revali, something's missing.
[Image ID: The bow inventory during the DLC fight against Windblight Ganon. It includes a Falcon Bow, Duplex Bow and Phrenic Bow.]
Where's the Great Eagle Bow?
Would Rito Champion Revali, greatest archer in known Rito history, really not be carrying his signature bow, when every other Champion carried their favoured weapon?
This, combined with his route straight across Hyrule Field, makes me suspect that he did engage the Guardians, lost his bow, and may even have gotten injured in the process.
So there you have it. Just about everything was against Revali in that fight. And while Link, and by extension the player, may have had an easy time of it, they went into it at full health and with all the advantages of the Sheikah Slate.
Meanwhile, Revali arrived at Vah Medoh after a frantic hours-long flight only to be thrown into a fight he didn't expect against an opponent tailor-made to counter his every move, while he was unable to see properly and lacked his best weapon. And he still managed to put up one hell of a fight.
#botw#revali#meta#look I didn't write my first botw fic about this very thing just to have this nonsense persist#Revali is exactly as good as he claimed to be#and the Champions were thrown into a fight that had them at a massive disadvantage#(sidenote: Urbosa doesn't have the Thunder Helm either even though it probably could have saved her)#(Presumably she didn't want to detour when they were so pressed for time and she didn't expect a fight on Vah Naboris)

Ineffable May 2024 Day 17: Inspector Constable
Inspector Constable and the Curious Case of the Vanishing Books
Rated: General Audiences | Read on Ao3
Muriel investigated the gap between the books using the magnifying glass that Aziraphale kept in the shop to decipher the minuscule writing in the old scriptures. They held it up to their eye as if it were a monocle and peered through, squinting in concentration.
“Strange,” they muttered, furrowing their brow. “Very strange.”
The disappearance of the books posed a perplexing puzzle for which they had no immediate explanation, and to their dismay, the magnifying glass was of no help. Instead of sharpening their vision, the tool blurred it, so they set it aside with a resigned sigh and knelt on the floor of the bookshop, inspecting the gap in the lowest shelf closely.
Naturally, Muriel had detected the mysterious disappearance of the books right away. Keeping track of things was their job after all, and they weren’t a 37th-class scrivener for nothing.
(In fact, Muriel had flinched violently at the noise when a neighbouring book had collapsed into the newly created emptiness beside it, indicating a space large enough for at least four books to have vanished by that point).
With their experience as Inspector Constable, and drawing on the insights gained from reading a fair share of the bookshop's detective novels, Muriel knew exactly how to proceed of course - they began looking for clues without further delay.
Unfortunately, there was little to be found. The only notable detail about the missing books was that they all belonged to Aziraphale’s favourites. Otherwise, there were no peculiarities worth mentioning - no scratch marks on the door lock, no broken windows, no signs of forced entry or damage. Although Muriel tried their best, they didn't find any incriminating fingerprints, and nothing aside from the books seemed to be missing (although it was hard to tell with all the fascinating memorabilia Aziraphale had collected over the last centuries cluttering the bookshop).
When their search for clues yielded no actionable insights, they proceeded to the next step: interrogating witnesses.
Muriel’s first stop was Heaven.
“No, books have never vanished without a trace before,” Aziraphale said, sitting behind his desk full of paperwork, looking wary. “Muriel, should I be concerned? Do you need any assistance?”
Muriel let out a nervous laugh and waved their hands in dismissal.
“Oh, no, not at all. It’s fine,” they assured him, attempting to conceal their embarrassment at having troubled the Supreme Archangel with such a trivial matter. However, after the disappearance of the seventh book in just a few days, they thought it best to clarify whether this was a common occurrence that no one had thought to inform them about.
Muriel squirmed under Aziraphale’s lingering gaze. It left them wondering whether they had given him the impression of neglecting their duty to care for the bookshop in his absence. Hastily, they added: “I … I will conduct an inventory. I am certain they’ve simply been misplaced.”
Aziraphale sighed deeply and pinched the bridge of his nose. He looked tired, worn out, and lacked the warm smile and friendly tone in his voice that Muriel had always appreciated for their kindness.
“Keep me informed, please?” Aziraphale requested and Muriel nodded eagerly in response. That was the least they could do.
“And if you happen to meet…,” Aziraphale's voice trailed off, lost in thought, before he forced a smile and adjusted his attire, shining with a white so radiant that it nearly hurt the eye. Yet, instead of lending him authority, it only made him look pale.
“No, it’s nothing,” Aziraphale concluded, already turning back to the paperwork piled on his desk, wearing a determined expression on his face. “Thank you for telling me, Muriel.”
Muriel opted for Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death as their next stop. Positioned directly across from the bookshop, there was the chance that Nina might have witnessed an intruder. Armed with a notebook and a pen, Muriel entered the café, ready to jot down every single detail Nina could provide. Inside, Muriel found Nina in the midst of serving a large cup of coffee to Aziraphale’s grumpy demon friend. Mr. Crowley, if they remembered correctly.
“What is it, Cup of Tea?” Nina greeted Muriel, ignoring Mr. Crowley’s extended hand as she held onto the steaming cup rather than placing it on the table in front of him. “Can I get you the usual?”
“Um, no, thanks,” Muriel declined, casting a nervous glance at Mr. Crowley. They hadn’t forgotten how he tricked them into granting him access to Heaven, or how he had refused to let them wait in the bookshop when Muriel had had nowhere else to go. Muriel didn't feel particularly comfortable in his presence, although he certainly didn't appear to match the gruesome and frightening description of a demon Heaven expected Muriel to believe in.
Mr. Crowley had given Muriel a book after all, and Aziraphale seemed to like him, so perhaps there was a hidden kindness to him, though Muriel was hard-pressed to detect it beneath his clenched jaw and grim expression.
“I thought you might be able to help,” Muriel said hopefully, turning their attention back to Nina and recounting everything about the vanishing books. They noticed Mr. Crowley shifting in his seat, but his facial expression remained a mystery behind the shades covering his eyes.
“That’s weird,” Nina remarked after Muriel had finished. “But I am sorry, I haven’t seen anything unusual happening.”
Muriel made a desperate noise, their shoulders sagging.
“Aziraphale will be very angry with me for not paying proper attention,” they lamented, earning a disbelieving snort from Mr. Crowley.
“Oh, he won’t,” he growled. “He’s very good at forgiveness. Trust me, I know.”
Muriel squinted in confusion at Mr. Crowley’s bitter tone, which didn’t quite align with the notion of forgiveness.
“Why do you think the thief took these specific books?” Nina inquired, shooting Mr. Crowley a dismissive glance. “They aren’t the most valuable in the bookshop, are they?”
Muriel shook their head.
“No. But they're all Aziraphale’s favourites. He keeps them on a separate shelf in the back of the bookshop to prevent customers from accidentally taking them.”
Nina hummed thoughtfully.
“Sounds like someone is on a personal vendetta,” she speculated.
Muriel remained unconvinced.
“I think the thief must be lonely,” they proposed their own theory, receiving a skeptical look from Nina.
“What makes you think that?” she asked, eyebrows raised.
“Well, books are like people, only portable,” Muriel explained, fondly remembering the first time they had picked up a novel, the words on the page as comforting as a warm hug, distracting them from feeling out of place on this strange yet exciting planet. “So if someone takes that many books in such a short time they crave company, obviously.”
Nina's expression shifted. She looked as if pieces of a puzzle clicked into place, and then regarded Mr. Crowley with suspicion.
“Or,” she intoned meaningfully, her gaze fixed on Mr. Crowley’s face, her features softening into something Muriel took for sympathy, “craving the company of someone very specific, given that only the favourites are disappearing.”
Mr. Crowley finally snatched the cup from Nina's hands, his patience running out.
“I don't understand why you concern yourself with this matter,” he snarled, downing his six shots of espresso and slamming the cup onto the table with unnecessary force, causing Muriel to flinch. “He left them here without a backwards glance. They don’t seem that important to him after all.”
Muriel hurriedly took a few steps back as he abruptly pushed back his chair and left the café with brisk strides, smoking.
“Watch out for lightning strikes, Mr. Six Shots of Espresso!” Nina called after him as the door shut with a resounding thud. She sighed, and Muriel looked at her with a questioning expression - as did all the other customers who had witnessed Mr. Crowley’s abrupt flight. Nina ignored them, putting a comforting hand on Muriel's shoulder.
“Don’t you worry, Cup of Tea,” she said, the soothing words accompanied by a reassuring squeeze of her hand. “The books will be back eventually.”
“How can you be so sure?” Muriel wanted to know, taken aback by Nina's confidence.
Nina glanced out the shop window as Mr. Crowley sped away in his Bentley.
“Because he won’t be able to bear the look of heartbreak over those missing books on that angelic face for very long when Mr. Fell returns.”
With that, Nina collected Mr. Crowley’s empty cup and tended to the customers waiting at the counter, leaving an even more confused Inspector Constable behind.

A stat can be raised to about 70-80 if you focus solely on them, it seems; the exception is magic, which can be raised to 28-32 as of this most recent public update. The highest amount of stats all around that I have gotten as of now is 118; getting the pet pig and their memento helps a lot with charm, taking the origin picture is a must, as is grabbing the laptop. Paramedic gives some extra stats compared to the other jobs too; I should maybe pair that up with the book club (silent) for the extra 5 it has above the other options.
Combine all that in a run, and it may be possible to hit the 120-125 all around, pretty cool! Gotta test it.
The lying about amnesia secret should be considered, but I'm wary of its possible consequences and the price for all those stats. I feel way more confortable with the inhuman secret and its +10 magic.
I can't wait to make the perfect min-maxer run as the game gets updated; it's bound to be fun finding that optimal path to greatness.
I'm loving OKS author, thank you very much.
Saw the update and decided to make a new MC, a fey guy who loves magic and is too pure for this world.

Thanks for the stats!
According to my notes, it's currently...
+83 mind +83 charm +83 body +37 magic
... not including the random +5 - +15 stats available from choosing Luck as your talent, but some of that should be mutually exclusive.
There's also no real benefit to gimping all your other stats to push one super high since most solo stat checks are in the 30s in the first game and the few starting-to-transcend-the-limits-of-humanity ones will probably be topping out in the 50s.
The Paramedic boost is a bug that keeps somehow reverting back (again!). The next bug fix update should hopefully fix that one for good.

1, 8, 16 and 19 for Vin
3, 5, 12, 17 for Lykos
<3
20 Tav questions.
Thank you!! <3
Vin’ath:
1. what do they smell like at their freshest? (and/or after a tenday. your choice)
At their freshest, Vin’ath smells like Armour and Weapon (a combination of the actual materials and the substances they use to clean/oil them) + undertones of something… cold? silvery? indescribable to most non-gith + a faint whiff of grass, leaves, and soil + the dried flowers they keep in their pockets because they’re VERY picky about scents. Their favourite is lavender. If they’ve been smiting a lot, there’s also a hint of ozone in there.
I headcanon that githyanki don’t sweat as much as humans do and smell less strong even at their grottiest, so after a tenday it’s probably all of those odours amplified + the blood of their enemies overpowering it all. Lae’zel approves. Vin does not – see above re: fastidiousness.
8. if either, are they part of the astarion/gale book club (magic & literature) or the wyll/shadowheart book club (trashy romance novels)?
At first, neither. Vin got put off reading early on in life – while they excelled at swordplay growing up, they found slate-based learning much more difficult, and the environment they were in was anything but supportive. They fell in love with theatre after getting out of the crèche system, but that didn’t really translate to written literature of any kind. That association with the cult propaganda they had to study was hard to break.
…until, that is, someone who shall remain unnamed lent them a book about a ruthless githyanki pirate whose stony heart was melted by the power of love. Vin may or may not have cried. Ever since then, they’ve been a semi-regular attendee at Wyll and Shadowheart’s reading circles. While they’d still rather see a performance, getting to carry the stories around in their backpack is growing on them.
16. what’s the description of their underwear in the inventory menu?
“Even these sturdy, practical shorts have an aura of righteousness about them.”
(Vin’s definitely a boxers person.)
19. do you have a playlist for your tav? if so, what’s the title + description?
I do, and I’m so sorry about the description in advance! It’s called “we’re in deep tsk’va now” and the description is “sad green paladin seeks dewormer rx”. Here’s the link (there’s a tiny bit of crossover with my Gith/Vlaakith/Zerthimon playlist because a few of these are general githyanki songs in my heart):
Lykos:
3. how would they kiss their LI?
Softly at first, with just a hint of teeth. He likes to start slow and get more intense. Nose and forehead kisses are his absolute favourite to greet a partner with, but he’s a big fan of kisses on top of the head too (giving or receiving, if he’s sitting down and/or actually ran into someone taller than he is). If he can play with their hair using fingers or psionics, he will.
…if you think all this sounds very gooshy and sappy for a githyanki, you’re right! Man’s a FREAK. He also likes to be told what to do, though, so the secondary answer to this is “however his partner wants to be kissed”.
5. what does their tent area look like? where do they prefer to pitch their tent (next to water, covered on three sides, etc)?
(Yoinking from my other answer.)
He prefers to make his pitch on higher ground, where he’s got a good view of the surrounding area and is away from anywhere that could potentially flood (though he won’t admit it, he’s afraid of deep water - an early lesson on the natural hazards of the Material got to him). His actual sleeping space is small - some people would say cramped - and as covered as he can possibly make it. He once experimented with making and hanging a bead curtain, but it didn’t work out very well.
In what may or may not be an act of rebellion against the controlling environment he came out of, he lets the area in front get SUPER MESSY. He has a tendency to dump everything out of his pack to “sort through it” at the end of the day, and since he picks up everything he can physically carry, that means A LOT of stuff gets piled up there. Gems, trinkets, ribbons, jewellery, beads, books, bones, mirrors, scrolls, a slate or two… then he shoves it all back into his pack the next day to start the cycle over again. While it’s a mess, he never lets it get seriously filthy - he has that typical Astral githyanki hatred of dirt/dust/mould.
12. their companions are gossiping about them behind their back! who is it and what are they saying?
In Act 1, it’s probably Lae’zel speculating out loud about the super-secret Vlaakith cult he belongs to. After they’ve been travelling together for a bit, she starts making ominous noises questioning his loyalty to Vlaakith (she’s right to doubt it!) I think they try to present a united githyanki front at first, but sometimes their differences just JUMP out.
After Y’llek, I think just about everyone would be whispering about him… but for most of them, it’d be more out of concern than anything else. He’s much quieter about his feelings on Vlaakith than Lae’zel is and he underwent a very concrete, tangible loss of power as a result of his quasi-divine sponsor tossing him out on his arse. And – most shocking of all – he stopped braiding/dyeing his hair! The entire party was fretting and/or speculating wildly all the way to the Shadowlands. Then they ran into Minthara again in the worst of circumstances and the gossip took a turn.
17. how do they celebrate their birthday?
I think Lykos comes to see the day he unintentionally broke away from Vlaakith as his birthday, or the closest equivalent that matters to him. He doesn’t celebrate it as such, but he tries to spend as much of the day as possible in quiet contemplation. Sometimes he writes letters to absent friends. If Lae’zel’s around, they might engage in some especially vigorous sparring. Ditto for Minthara, although those duels tend to go to their favourite non-platonic violence place pretty quickly.

Wali Shumayl of Tanas presents to El Cid 3 of his Faris he can spare (i.e. not his best fighter with 20+ prowess El Cid was aiming for). Out of the 3, El Cid decides to pick Agellid who is Wali Shumayl's Steward with 11 Prowess.
El Cid's next order of business is to get out of Tanas in North Africa and head back to the Iberian Peninsula onto Catholic soil again. Thus, he travelled by sea to the church holding of Sitges in the county of Barcelona.
The trip cost him just 545 provisions and 57 days to reach his destination, whereupon nearing the Coast of Tarragona he encountered a group of Catalan traders. The merchant ship held the Masterwork Trinket called the Bejewelled Scriptures which is a scripture book decorated with studded gemstones. El Cid successfully stole the Bejewelled Sciptures from Sanc the trader, and pocketed it into his inventory.
Once they reach shore, El Cid noticed that the Experienced Captain he hired for the journey named Adiba still remained in his Camp. And so, he married to his maternal Uncle, Fernando "the Wrathful" de Amaya.
El Cid and Ximena enter the Sitges Church, noting the beautiful and sacred Catholic decor as they do so. They are then immediately approached by Brother Llop, one of the Monks who enquires how he may be of service to them? El Cid requests for a Blessing of Peace which gives him Piety, Stress Loss and increase Life Expectancy by 10 years.
Next, El Cid and Ximena wander over to the Church's annexed Garden, where El Cid notes that there are so many hidden nooks and crevices to lay with Ximena in. However, El Cid holds that thought as he is not in any need of Stress Loss nor is he in need any further children, given that he has a spare and heir. Instead, he focuses on the delicious-looking wild fruits and herbs in the garden and goes about gathering them to add to The Loyal Vassals' provisions.
After exploring Sitges, El Cid turns to looking for nearby contracts to earn some gold and comes across a posting by Sheikh al-Muzaffar II of Lleida to Protect the Innocent folks of Lleida county.
While El Cid and his followers work on the Protection Prowess scheme, Count Rodrigu Diegez of Asturias de Oviedo, Mistress Ximena's Brother and El Cid's Brother-in-law, sends El Cid an alliance proposal which he accepts.
Next, after 5 months, The Loyal Vassals' Supply Tent is erected and El Cid appoints a new Quatermaster.
Meanwhile, El Cid demands payment of 60 gold for his past loyalty from his now Rival, King Sancho II "the Strong" of Castille. At the same time, El Cid dreams of humbling King Sancho and assuming the throne of Emperor of Hispania, and vows to make his dream a reality.
Finally on 17 April 1074, El Cid finishes slaughtering 5 wolves and successfully protected the subjects of Lleida and received 55 gold and 550 Provisions from Sheikh al-Muzaffar who is now slightly in debt.
We take stock on 2nd May 1074 of Captain Rodrigo "the Campeador" who is now 31 years old and camped out in Sitges located in the Duchy of Barcelona. His Second, Alvar Fanez, is bonding with his wife T'awes Jalayar.

Charles Spurgeon's "Faith's Checkbook" Devotional for June 4
“Exceedingly Precious ”
Malachi 3:17
A day is coming in which the crown jewels of our great King shall be counted, that it may be seen whether they answer to the inventory which His Father gave Him. My soul, wilt thou be among the precious things of Jesus? Thou art precious to Him if He is precious to thee, and thou shalt be His "in that day," if He is thine in this day.
In the days of Malachi, the chosen of the LORD were accustomed so to converse with each other that their God Himself listened to their talk. He liked it so well that He took notes of it; yes, and made a book of it, which He lodged in His record office. Pleased with their conversation, He was also pleased with them. Pause, my soul, and ask thyself: If Jesus lucre to listen to thy talk would He be pleased with it? Is it to His glory and to the edification of the brotherhood? Say, my soul, and be sure thou sayest the truth.
But what will the honor be for us poor creatures to be reckoned by the LORD to be His crown jewels! This honor have all the saints. Jesus not only says, "They are mine," but, "They shall be mine." He bought us, sought us, brought us in, and has so far wrought us to His image that we shall be fought for by Him with all His might.

How can an interior design office optimize storage and organization for design samples and materials?
In the world of interior design, creativity knows no bounds, and designers are constantly working with an array of samples, materials, and references to bring their visions to life. To foster creativity and maintain a productive workflow, it is essential for an interior design office to have efficient storage and organization solutions. In this blog, we will explore how to optimize storage and organization for design samples and materials in your interior design office, emphasizing keywords related to these spaces.
1. Designated Materials Library:
A well-organized materials library is the backbone of any interior design office. It should feature labeled shelves and drawers to house fabric swatches, paint chips, flooring samples, and more. Proper categorization ensures that you can find what you need quickly.
2. Custom Cabinetry:
Invest in custom cabinetry designed to meet the specific storage needs of your office. Custom cabinets can accommodate larger material samples, project documentation, and design tools.
3. Shelving Units:
Adjustable shelving units provide flexibility to store samples of varying sizes. They are ideal for organizing books, binders, and decorative items.
4. Sample Drawers:
Utilize sample drawers for storing smaller items like tile samples, knobs, or decorative hardware. Label each drawer for easy identification.
5. Articulated Storage:
Articulated storage solutions allow you to store flat or rolled design samples efficiently. These systems maximize space and make it easy to see and access items.
6. Clear Bins and Containers:
Clear plastic bins and containers are excellent for keeping samples visible and organized. Label each container for quick reference.
7. Wall-Mounted Racks:
Wall-mounted racks are perfect for storing rolled materials like blueprints, wallpaper, or large fabric swatches. They keep these items easily accessible yet out of the way.
8. Digital Documentation:
Embrace digital documentation and project management software. Scanning and digitizing design samples and documents reduces physical storage needs while enhancing accessibility.
9. Archive System:
Create an archive system for completed projects and older samples. Off-site storage can be a cost-effective solution for preserving materials that you may need in the future.
10. Ergonomic Workstations:
Design ergonomic workstations with built-in storage solutions. These workstations maximize efficiency and minimize clutter.
11. Vertical Filing Cabinets:
Vertical filing cabinets are essential for organizing project documents, contracts, and client files. Label each drawer for quick retrieval.
12. Material Recycling System:
Implement a material recycling system to ensure that unused samples and materials are properly stored and organized for future use.
13. Display Boards:
Display boards can showcase design concepts, mood boards, and current project ideas. Opt for easily interchangeable boards to keep presentations fresh.
14. Labeling System:
A comprehensive labeling system is a must for efficient organization. Label shelves, drawers, and bins clearly to minimize confusion.
15. Mobile Furniture:
Consider mobile furniture solutions for flexibility in arranging your office space. Mobile shelving units and rolling carts provide easy access to materials and can be repositioned as needed.
16. Sustainability in Storage:
Promote sustainability in storage by using eco-friendly materials and incorporating green design practices in your office's organization system.
17. Meeting and Presentation Room Storage:
Meeting and presentation rooms should have ample storage for client presentations, project samples, and display materials.
18. Material Tracking Software:
Implement material tracking software to keep a digital inventory of your design samples and materials. This can help you keep track of inventory and ensure efficient use.
19. Designated Creative Space:
Create a designated creative space for brainstorming and sketching, equipped with organized storage for sketchbooks, markers, and inspirational materials.
20. Regular Organization Schedule:
Establish a regular schedule for organizing and decluttering. Routine maintenance ensures that your storage systems remain efficient.
In conclusion, optimizing storage and organization for design samples and materials in your interior design office is essential for maintaining a productive and creative work environment. A well-organized materials library, custom cabinetry, shelving units, sample drawers, and articulated storage solutions are key components. Additionally, the use of clear bins and containers, wall-mounted racks, digital documentation, and an archive system can help streamline your materials. Ergonomic workstations, vertical filing cabinets, and material recycling systems support a clutter-free workspace. Display boards, labeling systems, mobile furniture, and sustainable storage solutions enhance functionality. Meeting and presentation rooms should have sufficient storage, and material tracking software can help manage inventory. A designated creative space and a regular organization schedule keep the office efficient and inspirational. By implementing these strategies, your interior design office will be equipped to handle the diverse range of design samples and materials while fostering a creative and productive atmosphere. One can achieve these by getting in touch with the renowned design and build firm such as Flipspaces, who can help you with the same.

1: What is the best compliment you've gotten on any of your works?
-Onetime I wrote a plot twist in a fic and everyone in the comments (a total of 4 people) were shocked beyond words. Best chapter ever.
2: Do you have readers that you recognize by name (even if they may not comment regularly)?
-4 or 5, yes. I read their works, they read mine. We kind of are each others' fans.
3: Do you have scheduled uploads and if so, when?
-No...not yet.
4: How long was the longest work you've written?
-My longest work was the third draft of my novel, at 44K words.
5: What is your go-to way to deal with writers block?
-Random prompts. Journaling. Watching videos/making posts about writing (procrastination?).
6: Do you have a motivational cycle? (As in phases in which you barely write and phases in which you write so much holy shit).
-Yes, they sort of come and go, months at a time, maybe a year.
7: How long are your uploads in regular?
-In my fanfics, I keep most chapters 1.2K to 1.5K. In my novel though, each chapter is 2K to 2.5K.
8: Do you look through any and all replies to your work? Why?
-Yes! I love to see people's opinions on my work and build on critique. I often get inspired from comments on my works.
9: What genre is your favorite to write?
-Action/Adventure, but I had a romance faze at some point and it wasn't all that bad. I am currently writing Sci-Fi adventure, which is very interesting.
10: Do you read and write similar stuff or are there differences?
-To some extent. The things I DON'T read and DON'T write are exactly the same though.
11: What kind of relationships do you like writing best? (Family, platonic, romantic, etc.)
-Platonic friend (preferably groups) but a romantic one pops in once in a while.
12: Do you write in your first language? Multiple languages? A secret, third option?
-I used to write poetry in my native language (Arabic), but my works and novel are in English.
13: How many WIPs do you have open?
-3 atm. 2 will probably be abandoned fics soon. That and 7 other stories I have in my inventory.
14: What POV do you write? First person, second person, third person?
-I'm honestly still trying to decide. My works are mostly in 3rd, but I'm experimenting with 1st.
15: What is the weirdest thing you had to look up for writing?
-... Wendigos. 5 Punishments of Ancient China. Number of people who drown yearly in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. etc.
16: What is something you didn't have to look up but is still weird to know?
-I couldn't get an answer by looking it up, but I had to conjure the symptoms and after effects of having your earlobe split open.
17: Could you or could you not successfully pull of a murder (at least in theory)?
-I will do the murder, but it won't be long before they figure me out.
18: Do you have a beta reader?
-No... not yet.
19: Do you edit your works?
-Of course. The more serious ones at least. small changes here and there sometimes.
20: Do you start on new ideas immediately or do you write them down until after you finish your current WIP?
-I write them down, but every time I think of a scene or concept in them, I write it quick.
21: How serious do you take your writing? Do you get money for it? Do you want to? Is it a hobby or a profession?
-It is not what I'm planning to have as a full-time job, but it is a nice hobby but I hope I can publish and get money from writing a series one day.
22: How often do you write fanfic? (From not at all to exclusively).
-I used to. Not that often anymore.
23: Is there a project you want to talk about?
-I am dying to explain this book of mine to someone, except that it is the third in a series of four and it is yet to be fully plotted. (It's called Ruins of Place, btw).
24: Do you stick to the same writing style or do you try out new things when you can?
-I find my writing style change after every fallout a little, and I feel it's improvement :).
25: Have you ever gotten hate and if so, how did you deal with it?
-My fanfics were in a small fandom, so really, no one complained much. As for my novel, it has yet to meet someone else's eyes.
26: Do you have a special writing process you have to follow every time you write?
-No?
27: How many people you know irl read what you're writing?
-None. They know I'm writing, but unless this book is finished no one shall see it (and don't even come at the fanfics.)
28: What would you say is your specialty in writing?
-Internal monologue and fight scenes. Sarcasm too, if it counts.
29: Do you listen to music while you write? If so, what kind?
-Sometimes, but not that often. A mix of anything that doesn't put me to sleep in the first 30 seconds.
30: What is, in your opinion, the greatest achievement that you have reached in writing?
-Finishing each draft is a great feeling. 10yo me might have not known it, but the 210 pages of a hand-written abominable story I wrote back then was the reason I got the idea to develop steadily.
Know yourself as a writer.
Writer ask game! (Both fanfic writers and non-fanfic writers)

Session 28: Sat 9 Mar 2024
Notes will be minimal! Sprocket and Luna are away this week, so Jorg’ath is taking on the cat and I am puppeting Sprocket and Augustus.
Hartvig’s rotten lung is still giving him trouble. Longest cough he’s ever had, he says. The DM thinks we should be able to finish this level of the dungeon today. Hartvig: “Aw, he hasn’t played with us before, has he?”
We decide to take the sickies to the temple for healing while the rest of us shop. Skabb asks if one of the priests can 'lance her pustules'. She starts a sentence with, “Also, whatever comes out of those pustules…” and the rest of us have to interrupt her before she can finish.
Jorg’ath burritos Skabb so she won’t have to see the books. The priests cast Remove Disease on all of us who need it, including Sprocket and Augustus. We buy scrolls, potions and holy water, and make some ammunition. (Skabb makes an inquiry about using Nadia’s crafting skills to preserve her frog-head hat. It may involve the use of her own piss in the tanning process, which she reminds us is canonically thick like treacle. Nadia will need some new safety gloves.)
We ask the priests about ghouls, and the possibility of having Augie as the town guardian. After all, he only eats other ghouls. The issue might be finding him things to eat once the town is safe. He’s been surviving down there for a while now, and he can’t have been eating ghouls the entire time. He can probably eat other things, the DM tells us. After a quick medicine check, Jorg’ath thinks Augie doesn’t carry ghoul fever. He is diseased, but the ghoul fever doesn’t seem to carry over - if he were to bite you, you wouldn’t become infected.
Jorg’ath wants to buy a very specific list of meats and mushrooms, and offer each to Augie in turn to see what he likes. He also wants to buy a bow - a shortbow, for now. A longbow seems a bit overkill for dungeons. He’ll want a composite, as he’s strong like an ox. The DM consults his price list: 14gp. Nadia stumps up the cash, as he’s saved her life a few times. We sell the books in Augustus' tummy for 20gp (now in Augustus' inventory).
Skabb consults her spell list, and re-summons Grabby Cat again.
Hartvig wants to scrounge around for different metals to do different stuff with his Needle Dart cantrip. On the way back to the lighthouse, Skabb hunts high and low for bugs to eat; she rolls a 27 Nature check and is able to fill her pockets. And her mouth. We roll her the rest of the way.
Big group high five, and back into the wilderness!
Luna drops into sneak as we arrive, and we all copy her. Sprocket trips and accidentally casts Bullhorn (nat 1 stealth). We put him in a papoose so he doesn’t have to walk.
We find a little bit to the north of the map where we were just fighting, and Jorg’ath and Nadia see a small gap where the stream runs through. It looks as if it goes down - maybe by a floor or so.
Skabb sends Grabby down, but the DM hasn’t done the map yet so he just describes it - the water runs out into a room, then a cavern with a raised platform above the water. She can smell sweat and wolf, and can hear a humanoid voice. Grabby has just been re-summoned and doesn’t fancy dying again just yet, so she flies back to Skabb.
Jorg’ath finds a tunnel to the south, and makes a Perception check, 17. “Never mind!” says the DM. Nadia spots a door. Jorg’ath makes a Nature check, and he thinks these tunnels look like Purple Worm tunnels. He also thinks they probably lead back to Otari. The door leads back to the circular room outside the library - it’s locked, so Luna picks it for us.
(Skabb waits until we’ve all gone ahead to rub some wee into her frog hat. Perhaps she's getting a head start on the tanning.)
We move north to an unexplored area of the map, and Skabb finds a door. She listens - Perception 20 - nothing. She opens it - oooh, it’s locked. “Oooohhh, Luna!” she cries, before we remember the little glowing fey creature. He was reading a book, the DM reminds us. He had a key as well, perhaps...? Hartvig has two keys in his inventory - ‘key, large, silver’, and ‘library key’. It’s a different key altogether, but we do have it.
Skabb opens the door and then shuts it again very quickly. Whatever she saw looked skeletal, she says. The DM shows us a picture of what it looks sort of like, and we roll initiative:
It is carved to resemble Velcro…
Skabb goes first. “It’s made of wood, right? *looks for fire spells*." She mutters things like ‘burning hands’ and ‘fifteen foot cone’. She casts, and the golem gets a reflex save - it rolls a 29. She bangs her head on the table. The Golem then does something called Splinter Volley at her and Grabby Cat, rolling a 31 to hit Skabb and 26 to Grabby. Unfortunately its attack is a crit, and it one-shots Skabb.
It hits Hartvig with a 17 - that hits him for 13 piercing. Then it crits Jorg’ath, rolling a green 26, for 40 crit damage, and even though its attack number is red it still hits Grabby. She doesn’t go down, luckily.
Since we haven’t hurt it yet, Hartvig does a big 3-Action Heal with the scroll he’s very glad now that he bought. He brings Skabb back, and heals everyone else, and earns a Hero Point!
Sprocket and Augustus do Boost Eidolon, and Augustus charges in. He can’t quite get where he’s going so he casts Shield.
Nadia runs up and since no-one is in melee, throws her Redpitch Bomb. It misses, but the splash damage does 4d8 (17!) fire damage!
Jorgath gets in there, misses, then Hero Points his attack for a 28 to hit. “I would like to do 6 slashing damage please.”
DM: “It will take one.”
We are all outraged. His axe isn’t made of Adamantine, but it is made of Greatness. Surely that should count?? For his last action, he falls off the table he’s leapt onto and grapples it. He declares that his axe is stuck in the top of its head. He rolls very poorly on his Athletics to grapple the golem and uses another cheeky little Hero Point for a crit success!
Luna leans around the corner and takes aim with her bow - 26 to hit for 9 damage.
Skabb doesn’t have any other fire spells she can use, because she’s actually prepared her spells properly, and is suitably annoyed. She does Recall Knowledge - all golems are immune to magic, with exceptions. Wood Golems are susceptible to fire magic, but invulnerable to everything else.
Cooooooooool.
It also apparently reduces bludgeoning damage, as she finds out when she whips a sling bullet at it. (It reduces the damage by five.) She throws her weapons on the floor and storms out. (She doesn’t really, but she does start stuffing slugs in her mouth so she can eat them before she dies.)
The Golem makes an escape attempt from Jorg’ath’s grapple; it rolls a 35 to Jorg’ath’s nineteen, and punches him - but misses. It goes again and hits him for 16.
Hartvig has a big dangerous fire spell (“Do it,” we all cry.) 20 misses, so he Hero Points it and rolls worse.
Augustus approaches the Golem and gives it a Regular Fist Thump (as magic will do nothing) but it reduces the five damage he does manage to do, to nothing.
Nadia has similar luck with both Alkonost and Bluebird.
Jorg’ath Rages and does 14 slashing reduced to nine, plus four acid. It takes all four of the acid!
Luna shoots and hits for 5 piercing (it is reduced down…) She crit succeeds her stealth check and melts back into the shadows.
Skabb flanks the golem with Augustus and goes in with her grill, but 19 misses - she Hero Points it for a 26! She rolls 6 damage, reduced down to one.
The wood golem takes a swing at Augustus and gets a howdy doodis on him, taking both him and Sprocket out, and then crits against Jorg’ath.
Hartvig is up. Run? He does his Focus spell, Fire Ray, again, and hits! 32 damage, five of which is Persistent! He does now have Moderate Curse, so he is feeble, dazzled, and emitting ash for ten feet around himself. He shuffles back fifteen feet shouting “don’t look at me!”
Nadia shoots but misses, and Jorg’ath fails a death save. Sprocket uses his last Hero Point to come back up with 1 Hit Point.
Luna wants to creep into the room and grab Skabb, and drag her out. She backs out, leaving a dying Jorg’ath in the room with the golem. He uses his Hero Points to come back up to 1hp I think? No, he’s stabilised. Luna shuts the door on her way out.
Skabb uses an action to give Grabby two and sends her to fetch Augie from his spa day, and does a 2 actioner on Sprocket for 10.
The Golem takes more fire damage, 15. None of us see the state it’s in as the doors are shut now. It makes no attempt to leave the room.
Hartvig Heals Skabb, as she’s closest, for 16 plus 12! 28 total, nice. Sprocket re-summons Augustus - just as Augie arrives with Grabby Cat sitting on his head like a Davy Crockett fascinator!
We wait out a round to see what happens...
The golem takes his persistent damage and burns to a cinder! Skabb wades through Hartvig’s ash and hugs his leg.
We run in and Heal lizard-bro. He is draped over a sculpture of Absalom, bleeding green blood all over it. Skabb slaps some Healing mud on him, and Hartvig uses a scroll on Augustus and Sprocket.
Nadia makes a Society check; the model is Absalom, but she (and Sprocket) can make out no further details. Jorg’ath knows it’s not just a sculpture of Absalom. The damage on it corresponds to the damage the actual damage the city itself has taken, but only that which occurred more than 500 years ago. None of the damage on the sculpture depicts damage the real city has taken more recently in that.
There are books in here about the various siege attempts on the city, and many have been annotated. There is another 4 bulk of books we could flog; Augustus opens his mouth.
Skabb listens at doors, but hears nothing. She does feel heat coming out from under one door. “Ohhhh, Grabby Cat!” She asks Augie if he knows what is behind the door, but he has no idea.
Jorg’ath kicks open a different door. Behind it is a cave, and it looks like someone has been doing mining - seems that Velcro was planning an extension of some kind. He spots a plus 1 striking pick, and he pops that in the old pocket.
Skabb opens her door. It is blisteringly hot in here, but the source of the heat isn’t immediately obvious. Jorg’ath, a lizard, wants to bask in the heat - he goes in and is told to stop where he is…
His Intelligence score is ten; not enough. Skabb hops in - 18 Intelligence, so she must roll Initiative. “I might die twice in one game!” she announces cheerfully.
The lid of the furnace in front of her pops open, and two flaming ghosts come screaming out. She tries to put them out with Hydraulic Push. The water goes straight through the ghosts - but she was aiming at the furnace, she insists. Her attack hits, for nine damage.
She takes 7 fire damage when it retaliates, and loses some random memories. They fade like pages burned from a book. She is Stupefied 1…
Jorg’ath and Luna also see what’s going on, and both jump in. Luna busts out the Wand of Quenching, and will, quote, “quench the fuck out of that shit.” The air in the room becomes saturated with water vapour, the fire does not go out, and the ghosts ignore it all entirely.
It’s super humid in there now, so Jorg’ath is feeling real good. He takes a whack at the furnace - 16 misses. He does an Intimidating Glare, after being reminded of how we defeated the kobolds - 18 Intimidation. It doesn’t seem to work…
Luna shoots and does some damage to the furnace, but not much. Sprocket casts Dispel Magic - and the furnace becomes inert, though he has the sense that it will reactivate at a later date. We drop out of Initiative, and Sprocket earns a Hero Point!
Jorg’ath finds a Ventriloquists Ring - gives +1 to Deception checks, activates once a day to cast Throw Voice (I think).
We call it there. We are off for the next few weeks, as it’s the DM’s birthday so he’ll be hammered on Saturday. After that Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes out so both me and him will be stuck into that for a while. :)
If we take out the last thing on the other side of these doors next time, the survivors will level up!
