She stares at the water, thinking about the bridge and that day. Daryl must’ve been thinking about it too. His gravelly voice was soft and gentle as he spoke his voice into the sound of the river running quietly, 

“I never stopped searchin’ for you..” 

Faith stares at the river until she processes what her uncle says. She looks at him with confused and grieving eyes. “What do you mean..?” She asks quietly, her voice already broken down from all that yelling and screaming at the bridge and arguing just after that. Daryl looks down at his boots as he tries to explain it to her. 

“I didn’t think you were gone. Not really. So I came out here. Looked everywhere. Every bend...” he taps his leg as he talks, clearly finding this difficult to talk about. Yet he was sharing it with her. “I never found your bodies..” he looks at her with sorrowful eyes. He looked so sad. Like he had a lot built up inside and was just getting some of it out now. She gives him her full attention as she listens intently. He never found their bodies because they had never died. And he didn’t know that. All this time... She felt a lump growing in her throat as she was getting emotional just hearing this.

“I checked every walker... every inch of it,” he says, looking out to the river. She feels her heart drop in heartache. It was so much for her to process and really understand what he must’ve felt while she was gone. “Didn’t think I’d ever see you again... not with a kid either..” he says, giving her a tiny hint of a smile.

Eddie was born into a very loving family.  His parents doted on him and encouraged  him to pursue his interests from a  young age.  It was clear that he was never going to be particularly sporty but he was academic and very creative and soon became known as something of a planner, doing nothing without carefully considering it from all angles and drawing his ideas in advance.  As he grew up there were points that he wished he had a sibling but he had no idea of the struggle that his parents were going through in their bid to conceive again.  When he was ten he got his wish in the form of his little sister Lauren.  Eddie wasn’t exactly besotted with her when she was born, she was loud and she screamed and took up so much attention.  However as he got used to her he became very protective over her and the way she appeared to adore him.

As Eddie got older his instincts for planning and creativity only grew and it was no surprise to anyone that he decided to study architecture at university.  He left home to study at Illinois Institute of Technology when he was 18 years old and found that leaving his eight year old sister behind was surprisingly difficult.  After his five year course he was able to find an internship post with a company in Sacramento and he settled well into the city.

After three years his internship was finished, he passed his final exam to register fully as an architect and at the age of 26 he had finally achieved his goal.  The company he had been with for the last three years offered him a job and with no reason to move he accepted. 

It was in the September that year that Eddie returned home to Aldridge Bay to see his family and attend a friend’s wedding.  He was back for a week and one evening he and a few friends decided to visit the boardwalk and have some beers and a laugh.  That was when his life changed entirely.  He was on the bumper cars when his car got stuck in a corner and a beautiful blonde assistant rescued him and pushed his car back out.  With a teasing joke about how he was supposed to hit the other cars Eddie never knew what possessed him but he invited the woman to give him some driving tips over a drink later.  To his astonishment she agreed to meet after her shift so later he made his excuses to his mates and went to meet Holly at the margarita truck.  She was gorgeous and confident and funny and Eddie was completely smitten though well aware she could have anyone she wanted.  They talked and laughed for a few hours before he escorted her to her car and floated home on air.  The next day they met for lunch and it was as easy to talk as it had been the previous evening but Eddie was well aware that the wedding was the next day and then he had to return to Sacramento and away from Holly.

He had expected that to be the end of his holiday fling but Holly called him a few days later and they spoke for hours.  It became a regular thing, talking, texting or skyping pretty much everyday.  After a month they met at a hotel Eddie booked halfway between their homes and while ever the gentleman he booked two rooms, only one was used.  After the third weekend meet up Holly told him to stop booking two rooms and he agreed, using the money to send her flowers instead.

Two years after they met Eddie secured a job in Eugene and moved back to Aldridge Bay and a year later Holly moved in with him.  They married a year later and have now been married for four years.  Eddie is as in love with Holly as he was the moment he saw her and now they are starting to look to the future more and starting their own family.  He couldn’t be happier.

What is their opinion about the boardwalk and its effect on the town? Eddie loves the boardwalk, mainly because he is sentimental over the fact he met Holly there.  He thinks it is good for the town although he can see parts are definitely starting to age and it is losing it’s shine a bit.  However it also concerns him what will happen to Aldridge Bay if the boardwalk was to close and the impact on the town as a whole.
