Seduce And Destroy
Summary: elena and her little friend group have no idea that the new student in her class might be an another old ass vampire, but, news flash, she is.
You had been sitting in the principals office since morning, hearing him talk about how you should behave and act in school, the rules, the dresscode and whatnot.
You rolled your eyes for the ninth time already, straightening up and getting ready to leave as he hands you your schedule.
"Thanks sir, but next time, talk less to not be a bore," you gave him a tight lipped smile and walked out the door.
But, instead of scolding you or running after you for talking to him that way, he nodded and got back to his work.
You roamed the hallways, not really looking where you were going, since you were looking down at the schedule in your hands.
As you were about to turn a corner somebody pushed you, laughing as you fell to the floor.
"Yo, dumbo, look where you're going!" Chad laughed, you heard someone call his name in the crowd.
"Yeah, sorry, it's totally my fault," you chukled, looking up at him, extending your hand, "give me a hand?"
"What?" He looked around, as if checking if you were kidding him.
"I said, give me a hand."
"Yeah, sure, here," he extended his hand, helping you get up.
"Good, now you see that guy?" You pointed towards one of the buff guys in the hallway, before looking chad in the eyes, "start a fight with him and don't back down till you're unconscious."
He nodded before walking away.
"What are y'all looking at?" You said to students that were standing around you, murmuring about your and chad's interaction.
"Everyone, this is the new student, miss y/n y/l/n." You waved to the class in front of you, smiling brightly.
"Nice to meet you everyone, my name is y/n."
"Yeah, we already heard that!" Some guy in the back shouted, making half of the class laugh.
"Miss y/l/n, you can sit over there, next to miss gilbert," alaric your history teacher said, pointing towards the girl who raised her hand as a wave.
"Hi, I'm elena." She said as you plopped down in your seat, "don't mind people here, they tend to be...mean."
"It's nothing, " you smiled, turning towards the front of the class.
But, still, you felt two pairs of eyes burn a hole in the side of your head.
You were standing in front of your locker, putting your books in when you felt a slight tap on your shoulder.
"Hey, y/n, i was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me and my friends after school?" Elena smiled up at you.
"What for?" You looked at her confused.
"You know, to get to know each other," she said almost desperate as you nodded, making her smile, "I'll send you the location!"
You gave her a thumbs up, before she dissapeared behind the corner.
You pulled out your phone,
Katherine:
See, i told you, she looks exactly like me.
Me:
No, she doesn't, she's prettier.
You shut off your phone, sliding it into the pocket of your jeans.
You looked up at the mansion in front of you, "I think I'm here..?"
"Great, I'll open the door for you right now," elena hung up, and a few seconds after, door opened, revealing her, "come in!"
"This is your house? It's massive."
"No, my boyfriends and his brothers," she giggled, taking you into the living room, where five other people were present.
"I thought it would just be caroline and bonnie? If i remember their names correctly." At your voice all five of them turned towards you, but only two of those people caught your eyes, "salvatores."
"How do you know their last name?" The blond asked from her position on the couch, looking confused.
"What? What last name?" Bonnie and elena looked confused, but damon and stefan were staring at you warily, well atleast stefan was, while damon looked like he wanted to kill you right then and there.
"Y/n," stefan said out loud, sighing as he looked to the side to damon, "what are you doing here?"
"Wait, you two know each other?" Elena asked, but no one answered.
"Aren't you one of katherine's little dogs?" Damon smirked.
"Aren't you the brother she never loved?" You bit back, as you heard a few gasps around the room.
Damon sped to you, pining you against the wall with his hand on your neck.
"Okay, what is going on?!" Bonnie snapped, looking over to us warily.
Again, no one answered.
"My guy, you should know that I'm six hundred years older than you, which means im much stronger than you are," this time you smirked, getting a hold of Damon's arm before twisting it hearing a crack, and throwing him across the room into a shelf.
"Will anybody tell us what's going on?!" Caroline yelled, looking over to you and stefan since damon was still lying on the floor where you threw him.
"It's a long story," caroline glared at me, making me roll my eyes, "but, to sum it up, Katherine and i know each other, stefan and i know each other, and that thing that i just threw, also know each other, how? We used to be friends way back when these two idiots were enamored by katherine, and after that too, before they turned their humanities off, and decided to just eat every living thing on this planet, that's when i decided the smartest desicion was to just leave them be, they were weighing me down anyway."
"Bitch," damon groaned, getting up and sitting down on the couch.
"Are you saying that as 'you're a bitch' or a 'my body hurts like a bitch' choose the answer wisely, or it might have consequences."
"Fuck you."
"Bet you're fantasizing about it," you smiled, looking at elena, "oh, sorry, i have to go, I'm late for work."
"W-work?"
"Yeah, i wanted to say it at our hang out, but, i started working at the grill, and i believe, matt, you're gonna be late too," you looked at the boy next to caroline, who looked down at his watch, "wanna drive with me?"
"No, don't you dare go near him, let alone even hurt him," caroline sneered, standing in front of matt in a protective manner.
"Oh, don't worry, i won't, after all, i was warned by klaus himself, if i hurt you or anyone dear to you, he'll rip my heart out, and we don't want that now, do we?"
"You know klaus too?" She looked at me in disbelief.
"Caroline, love, you're not the only one that guys chase after now, are you?" You smirked walking out the door, and towards your car, the smirk widening when you saw matt jogging up to you.

Why Didn't You Tell Me? (Damon Salvatore x M! Vamp Reader)
I got an ask some months ago about writing more Damon Salvatore fics and here I am delivering said request. This was something sporadically, so sorry if it's not my best work. Enjoy!
Summary: You were bitten by a werewolf after saving Damon, as usual. However, even with death looming over your head, it was comforting knowing your unrequired crush had been saved.
tags: werewolf bite, at death's door, soft Damon, open-ended, revealing feelings
The moonlight filtered weakly through the heavy curtains of the Salvatore boarding house, casting soft, pale beams over the quiet room. Damon sat slumped in a chair beside the bed, his piercing blue eyes fixed on the figure lying motionless under the thick covers. M/N—his closest friend, his confidant—was pale, even for a vampire, his usual vibrant strength dimmed to a faint glimmer. Damon clenched his jaw, the weight of helplessness bearing down on him as he watched his friend deteriorate before his eyes.
It had happened so fast, the chaos of the fight against the werewolves blurring the details. Damon hadn’t even noticed his friend was bitten until they stumbled through the doors of his home, bloodied and exhausted. Watching as M/N sagged into the nearest chair with a ragged gasp, it was there that Damon's sharp eyes caught the ugly, festering wound on his forearm. He froze, stomach sinking as he stalked forward. “Why didn’t you tell me?” Damon demanded, his voice low and filled with a tremor he couldn’t hide.
“It’s nothing,” M/N murmured, though his voice cracked, and Damon could see the sweat beading on his brow. “I didn’t want you to worry.” And now, as the hours dragged into the late night, Damon could do nothing but watch as M/N fell asleep. The pain beginning to take hold.
This couldn't be the end.
Damon's eyes burned, though he refused to let the tears fall. Vampires weren’t supposed to cry, weren’t supposed to feel this deeply, and yet here he was, on the edge of losing the only person who had ever managed to see through the mask he wore. M/N, who never judged him for his flaws but never let him off the hook either. M/N, who had thrown himself into danger without a second thought to protect him.
And now, he was paying the price.
“You idiot,” Damon muttered, his voice shaking. “Always thinking about everyone else, always putting me first. Did you think I’d be okay with this? Watching you die just because you wanted to save me?"
He exhaled sharply, his hand hovering above M/N's head before brushing through his hair, a gesture so tender it surprised even him.“You can’t do this to me,” Damon whispered, his voice breaking. “You can’t leave me here. Do you know how much you mean to me? How much you…” He trailed off, the words catching in his throat. He shook his head, his thumb brushing lightly against M/N’s temple. “You’re everything, okay? You’re—” He swallowed hard, his chest tightening. “I don’t know how to do this without you.”
The days dragged on like a cruel, unending nightmare. Each passing hour brought M/N closer to the edge, and Damon was powerless to stop it. The venom from the werewolf bite was spreading, the blackened veins crawling further along M/N’s skin, sapping what little strength he had left.
The third day was the worst. M/N’s breaths had grown shallow, his voice barely a rasp as he tried to speak. Damon was at his side, dabbing a cool cloth across his forehead, but when M/N’s bloodshot eyes met Damon’s, there was something different in them.
“Please.” He whispered, his voice cracked and raw.
“Hey, I told you, save your strength.”
But M/N shook his head weakly, his lips trembling as he forced out the words. “I can’t…I can’t do this anymore. It hurts too much.”
Damon froze, his body stiffening as the weight of M/N’s plea hit him. “No,” he said firmly, his voice sharper than he intended. “Don’t even think about asking me that.”
Tears welled in M/N’s eyes, his expression crumpling in anguish. “I don’t want to die like this,” he whispered. “Not like this. Not slowly, not in this much pain.”
Damon shook his head violently, standing abruptly and pacing the room, his hands running through his hair. “Stop it,” he snapped, his voice breaking. “Stop saying things like that. I’m not letting you go. I’ll find a cure—I don’t care what it takes. You just…you have to hold on.”
M/N’s voice was barely audible, but it cut Damon to his core. “You can’t save me.”
Damon spun back to him, his eyes blazing. “Don’t you dare give up on me,” he growled, storming back to the bed. “Don’t you dare. If you think I’m going to just sit here and let you die, you don’t know me as well as you think you do.”
M/N’s tears fell silently, his body trembling as he leaned back into the pillows, the fight in him fading. Damon’s heart shattered at the sight, but his resolve only hardened. He pressed a hand to M/N’s cheek, his thumb brushing away the tears. “I’m going to fix this,” he said softly, his voice trembling with emotion. “You hear me? I don’t care what I have to do, who I have to kill—I’m not losing you.”
The moments Damon wasn't at M/N's side he spent scouring every possible lead to a cure. He looked through every book, made call after call to anyone who might help, and even considered reaching out to Klaus himself, though he knew the Original would only use the situation to torment him further. Still, Damon refused to give up, the very idea of a world without M/N driving him to the brink of madness.
Every time he returned to M/N’s side, the sight of him growing weaker, his pain evident in every movement, twisted Damon’s heart further. He couldn’t sleep, couldn’t eat, couldn’t think of anything but saving him. By the fifth day, Damon sat on the edge of the bed, exhaustion etched into every line of his face. M/N was barely conscious now, his breaths shallow and uneven. Damon reached for his hand, squeezing it tightly as he leaned closer.
“You told me once that I didn’t have a future,” he murmured, his voice low and raw. “That I didn’t think about what comes next, stuck on the past. Well, guess what? I don’t care about the future if you’re not in it. If you go, I go. Simple as that.”
The words hung heavy in the air, a promise and a plea all at once. Damon pressed his forehead to M/N's, his hand gripping the other's with strength as if he could anchor him to life through sheer force of will. Damon would save him—or he would die trying.

why? - Stefan Salvatore
words - 477
Part 1/?
"You okay?" Matt yelled over the blasting dance music. "Fine" you yell back sweetly, plastering on a fake smile in hopes of convincing him that you really were fine. "You sure cause that glass doesn't seem to agree" he replies with a laugh on his breath. "You know school and stuff. I'm just gonna go to the bathroom" you state dryly. He waves you off as you scamper away to the toilets.
You were in fact not fine, you might even say you were the opposite. Stefan had been grinding on Elena for the past 20 minutes as he danced with her in the club her party was being held at. He was meant to be your boyfriend but he had apparently forgotten all about your relationship as he practically waved his boner in Elena face. You didn't get it. You didn't get how every boyfriend you ever had could just drop you after one glimpse at another girl.
Inside the cubicle, your eyes welled up at the thought of being without Stefan. Damn alcohol. He'd probably been just fine without you though. You didn't know how you were supposed to get past this, this hadn't been the first time you'd caught Stefan cheating, however every time you tried to leave he managed to come up with some reason to make you stay. You couldn't wait to hear what excuse he had this time. Make up smeared and the feeling of utter defeat resting on your shoulders you left the toilets and walked straight out the doors, without anyone even batting an eye in your direction.
Trudging home in the cold (it was December of course and you were in a skin tight, sleeveless, black mini-dress that stopped just below your ass) You thought about your sad little life. You were always the second choice between your friends, hell, even your parents cared more about your older brother than they did you. Everyone else had their best friend, the one person they would die for, but you just had 'friends'. Friends that cared enough to wish you happy birthday but not enough to come to your party. What a sad little life you had.
Turning the corner to your apartment (your parents had decided it would be best if you moved out at 16 so that your brother's best friend could have his own room at their house) you wondered if life was actually worth it anymore. Would anyone care if you just disappeared? Would anyone even notice?
Your apartment was small, your parents had use the little money your grandparents had left you to purchase it, the keys jingled as you unlock the door. Stepping into the kitchen/living room/dining area your legs gave way and you collapsed onto the floor in a crying mess. Why did everything always have to happen to you?

31 - Raelyn Let Loose
Part 32
Gemini Runaway
Tag list ask to be added @dragonixfrye @secretdreamlandmentality
Walking through the woods at a lake house ground I could hear everything around me. It had been a few days since everyone in the town I cared about had to get up in arms about me turning my humanity off. Shoving some Cheetos in my mouth it was hard carrying one baby let alone three. My phone rang where I saw it was Rebekah. “Why are you dodging my phone calls?”
“You know the answer to that. Because you betrayed me and oh yeah I don’t give a crap.” I snapped back at my blonde original friend.
She sighed through the phone, turning on the video call so we could see each other. “Realyn, I’m sorry about the intervention the other day but we are just concerned about you. You aren’t meant to be a monster like we have been.”
“I already became one the night I killed Jacob. The only difference now is that I don’t have to feel all the guilt that came with it. Hey, would you be able to find me any cute outfits for my pregnant belly when I become fat as a balloon. Because your brother's shirts are starting to become tight.” I responded to her shaking the bag in front of the camera.
“Look, we can go on a shopping spree if you will just turn your humanity back on. I miss seeing you and the miracle babies deserve to know their auntie Bex.” She spoke to me, throwing her hair in front of her eyes.
Rolling my eyes at her someone vamped behind me making me glance over my shoulder seeing the hybrid. “Rebekah, I've gotta call you back. Your brother is here to be a pain in my ass. What do you want, Nik?” Placing my phone in my back pocket I glared at him.
“When I let you go the other day I didn’t expect you to come out here for food. I would have assumed you head back to New Orleans seeing that vampires rule the city.” He pointed out to me slowly walking forward.
Whipping fully around to face him I stomped up until we saw the other's face still glaring at him intensely. “I figured you would look there so I went somewhere I didn’t think you would be here, so why the hell are you following me, traitor?”
“I’m not following you out of concern if that is what you are asking. And I wish that you wouldn’t look at me like I betrayed your trust. You lied to me too by not telling me you flipped the switch.” He responded back at me reaching up with his hand to touch my cheek.
Snatching his wrist in mine I pushed his hand down. “Tell me why you are really here now or I’ll snap your neck!”
“I am here to see if Jeremey Gilbert has killed anyone vampires. He needs to grow his mark to find the cure. So when he does I can destroy it so it’s not used on me.” He explained.
Knitting my brows at him. “Cure to what. What exactly don’t I know?”
“The cure to vampirism, Raelyn.” He spoke back at me simply.
Snapping off at him I didn’t like that now since I was a vampire he was keeping things from me. I thought if anything our lives would be easier when I turned but that doesn’t seem to be the case. “And why am I just now hearing about this supposed cure. Are you just a complete liar now since I am a vampire?”
“You were passed out in transition when all of this started coming to the surface.” Klaus slumped his shoulders running his fingers through his messy curls. “I was so terrified that I didn’t feed you my blood in enough time. Wherever you were before you came back. I’ve never been there so I don’t know. You just need to tell Raelyn that I haven’t lied to you.”
Crossing my arms over my chest I huffed taking a few steps away from him. “Are you going to use the cure on me if they manage to get it?”
“No. Never a chance in hell. I have seen inside your mind sweetheart. I don’t wish for you to be so afraid of living every day. But I do wish that you would come back to me. Being a vampire without your humanity won’t be good when the babies are born. If you won’t do it for me, do it for them.” He raised his hands like I had offended him so how which took me by surprise.
Tapping my boot on the ground I reached for my phone heading in the direction of the lake house dialing Rebekah back. "I'll think about it but I need blood and I'm gonna call Rebekah and find out what's going on with this cure? Hey Bex, care to fill me in on this whole cure thing."
"Raelyn, of course darling. I actually have the whole gang here with me so you just have to watch." She turns on the video call again showing me that she was in a library holding Stefan, Elena, Caroline and a girl I didn't know. "You've all been compelled. You know the rules. Answer my questions honestly, no disobedience, no one leaves. April, my sweet, take notes. This is how you get answers in this town. Let's start with a little quiz. In the year 1114, my brother learned... thanks to yours truly... About a brotherhood of vampire hunters with tattoos that grew with each kill. And these tattoos reveal what? Elena?"
Elena replied. "A map."
Rebekah turns towards the other blonde. "Which led to, Caroline?"
Caroline has her arms crossed over her chest. "A cure for vampirism."
"Perfect. We're all caught up. Stefan Salvatore, the last time we saw each other, you had a vampire hunter, but in order to decode the map, you needed the location of the hunter's sword, which you got out of me using some very dirty tricks assuming you found the sword, you must have found the cure, and yet you're all still vampires, which means something went wrong." I noticed the April girl writing making her pause. "What are you doing?'
April said, sitting her pencil down. "You asked me to take notes."
"I wasn't being literal, darling. But now that you mention it, a flow chart would be nice, which means index cards and push pins. Go fetch." Bex sent her away.
Stefan grumbled under his breath. "You're wasting your time. We don't know anything."
Rebekah flipped her hair over her shoulders. "So you just gave up? I thought you'd do anything to save Elena, even if it meant taking the cure yourself so you could grow old and die with her. Why do you look so surprised? I'm missing something. What is it?"
Caroline threw her hands. "They broke up, okay? Now let us go."
Rebekah made a face and I rested my chin in the palm of my hand. "Wait. I'm confused. I thought Elena was your epic love, Stefan. I asked you what happened, and you have to tell me."
Stefan muttered. "She slept with Damon."
"Oh dang and here I thought I was the only girl who liked the bad boys. Hey, I gotta go." Turning my head I watched Klaus walking back in the direction of Damon sitting in front of a burning fire until I called his name. "Nik!"
"So you're talking to me now hmm. What do you need, love?" He asked me to shoving his hands in the pockets of his jacket.
Rising to my feet I put my hands behind my back walking up to him smirking. "The real question is what can I do for you. Since Bex just told me Jeremy has to kill vampires and I am rather hungry. Aren't I right that there's a bar down the road?"
"Come with me, Rae." He whispered, leading me to the fire.
Damon said, feeling us standing there. "If you're here for payback, go for it. But you'll be stuck baby-sitting the little hunter that could."
Klaus sat down pointing to the knife he was cutting a stick with. "You know... If you adjust your angle a little bit, you'll find a sharper edge."
Damon made a face. "I know how to whittle. Thanks. Now I know why those hybrids hated you. You are annoying."
"Not as annoying as you can be according to Caroline." I teased him.
Klaus shrugged his shoulders. "Actually, I'm just perplexed as to why Jeremy hasn't killed any vampires."
"Darwinism, Klaus. He needs to be able to protect himself before we hunt down his first vampire nest." The raven haired vampire said.
Leaning my back against one of the trees I shook my head seeing Klaus glancing back at me before focusing on him. “And here was I, thinking you were the fun brother. Well, let's play a little game, shall we? Jeremy needs more victims, and there's a whole town of people down the road just waiting to be turned into vampires for the slaughter.”
Damon asked, moving his knife not meeting his gaze. “You don't think that occurred to me, Klaus?”
“The tragedy is, Damon, it did occur to you, yet you chose to ignore it. And my guess is you did it to impress Elena. Somehow, to honor her, you'll find a way to spare innocent lives and walk Jeremy down the moral high road.” Klaus turned around staring at me waving me over.” Raising a brow at him leaning down where he leaned his head into my ear taking my fingers where he traced my fingers against his neck sending me a hidden message meaning to go find the bar and wait for him. “That's why I've already made the necessary corrections.”
Damon questions him before Klaus vamps away, not answering him, finding me waiting outside the bag for him since I had vamped away before he could notice that I was gone.” What did you do?”
Klaus pushed the door open for me to see a whole bar filled with people and I could hear all their hearts ringing in my ear. “Why bring me here if you know I will drain them dry?”
“Because I have already fed them my blood. So when you kill them…” He trailed off with a smirk on his face watching my reaction.
Wrapping my arms around his neck I kissed him for the first since I had turned into a hybrid. “They will be in transition to be vampires. You are brilliant and so hot right now. I’d say I always had a thing for the bad boys.”
“I knew that about you before you turned, Raelyn. Now before the boys get here I suggest that we start this little show. Ladies first.” He gestured with his hands out in front of him before I vamped forward onto a guys back sinking my fangs into his neck draining him quickly.
Grabbing two girls by their necks I held them down drinking from one after the others throwing my hair around in a mess. It all became too much for me to not just see blood everywhere where I started vamping around like a madwoman. Klaus the whole time was just standing by the bar watching both turned on and sick to his stomach by how much his former witch was enjoying herself. He never imagined this fate for his love. Losing her twin brother took more of a toll on her then he was ever capable of understanding.
Ripping my fangs into half of their necks I pulled back letting blood drip down my chin. He reached up, taking some off of me moving his other hand to my neck. I watched his eyes flash gold nuzzling his nose into my neck whispering. "I want you to know that it pains me to see you like this. I want nothing more than to find pleasure seeing you like this. But my heart can’t allow that in.”
“You only feel horrible because you have your humanity on. So why not just turn it off with me huh. We’ve got time before these babies come out of my belly. So turn it off with me, together forever." I smirked before he hooked my legs around my waist, vamping me against the wall kissing me hungrily. Everything felt right, his hands and lips on mine. Blood mixing together where he started kissing my neck slowly. I gasped, gripping his locks in my fingers, throwing my head back.
The bar door opened and the three others entered before he ever gave me an answer where we sat down back at the bar clinking our glasses of blood together. “I was beginning to worry you boys wouldn't find the place.”
Jeremy gasped. “What the hell…?”
Matt sounded frightened and I could hear his heartbeat faster. “Did you kill all these people?”
Klaus explained downing his drink and getting some alcohol in his next glass since I couldn’t have any being pregnant. “Not exactly. They're in transition. killing them is your job.”
Jeremy looks at Damon. "You said you were going to convince Klaus to do this another way."
"I thought about it. And then I realized his idea was better." Damon responded looking over at Nik and I as he smirked, raising a shot glass in his hand.

-
omg day one of kinktober, I’m so excited!! this is a bit of a curveball given I’ve never wrote about TVD on here but me and my bf were watching it and I’ve had absolute Kol brain rot lol.
also ow grand finals today!! ante up 💚
Kinktober Masterlist
The usual hustle and bustle of the Grill fills your ears as soon as you push past the door. You have your apron thrown over your shoulder, attempting to tie up your hair and run to the back at the same time.
You manage to make your way through the maze of tables without bumping into anyone, thankfully. You wrap the straps of your apron around your waist and clock in just as the clock strikes 4:30.
“Close one.” Matt Donovan nudges your shoulder teasingly.
You shrug him off, slinging a cloth over your shoulder. “Hey, some of us actually need to study.”
The blond rolls his eyes and heads to the sink. You clip a pen onto your waist and drop a pad of paper into your pocket, smoothing over your hair before heading onto the floor. The Mystic Grill opens at noon, but since you and Matt are in school, more often than not you find yourselves working later in the afternoon.
And with working late comes the drunken idiots and vampires.
You’re on your way to clean tables when a rowdy group of men burst through the doors. Usually, you’d just roll your eyes and wait for them to settle before coming over. But something about this group just seems…different. Your mind practically screams vampire.
Aside from the fact that they’re so hot you would have noticed them before, their accents make it clear that they’re not from around here. A mix of a classic English accent with a hint of something else behind it, a hint of something more ancient. Another red flag.
You come to their table almost as soon as they’re settled, not wanting to keep them waiting too long. “Hi, welcome to The Grill. My name is y/n and I’ll be serving you today. Anything I can get you guys started with?”
The one in the suit speaks first. “A gin and tonic, please.”
You nod and scribble it down on your notepad, turning to the blond one in the center. “And for you?”
“Martini, love.”
On any other day, the pet name would make you roll your eyes, but you find yourself fighting the urge. There’s something electric in the air, something dangerous, and you don’t want to aggravate them.
The younger one on the end smirks at you, dark eyes raking over your figure. He’s by far the tallest and broadest of the group, muscled shoulders hidden underneath his brown jacket. You shiver beneath his gaze.
“A negroni, darling.” He says casually, but there’s a hint of patronizing beneath.
Unlike the blond man, the name doesn’t make you roll your eyes. There’s no bitter taste in your mouth—just the chill of something new.
“Right away.”
You overhear them laughing as you practically sprint to the back, your heart racing in your chest. You can feel eyes on you but you don’t dare turn around. By the time you’re out of sight, their laughter has faded to hushed whispers around the table.
Kol can’t help but glance at the swinging door that leads to the kitchen, waiting for his cute little waitress to emerge. The innocent air around you is intoxicating in itself, and he finds himself wondering how your blood would taste, and how pretty and wet you would look opened up in front of him.
He pushes the thoughts away once he feels his pants tightening.
You come back a few minutes later, their drinks piled on the tray in your hand. You place them on the table one at a time, starting with the man in the suit. He thanks you, and it’s clear he has the best manners of the three.
When you get to the last man, you have to lean in slightly to place the drink in front of him. As you get close, you can smell his cologne, like a combination of sandalwood and iron. The scent draws you in, and you have to force yourself away from him.
Your body heats up and your heart pounds, voice shaking as you ask: “C-can I get you guys anything else?”
“No, love, I think we’re—”
He interrupts the blond one with a smirk, “hang on a minute, Niklaus. Maybe there’s something else I want from our pretty waitress.”
You swallow hard at the compliment. You don’t trust yourself to properly form words right now, so you simply nod at him and wait for him to speak.
“Hmm,” Kol picks up the menu and pretends to examine it.
He knows he’s being cruel, but he can’t help it. He loves the sound of your racing heart, of the blood rushing through your veins. God, he’s so tempted to compel you to come and sit on his knee and offer him a drink. But compulsion is just too easy, and where’s the fun in that?
He looks up at you through his lashes. “What would you recommend, love?”
“Um,” you shift your weight from foot to foot, “I-I’m not too sure, what are you in the mood f-for?”
You curse yourself for stuttering so much, but you’ve never felt like this before. It’s like all your senses are in overdrive, your body turning into an inferno. Just him looking at you is enough to turn you into a weak kneed mess.
Dark eyes look you up and down, that fucking smirk coming through again. “Something…sweet.”
“I-I can go get you the dessert menu.”
You don’t even wait for an answer before you’re practically running to the kitchen and gulping down half of your water bottle. You can hear them laughing once more, laughing at you, probably.
“You’re so cruel, brother,” Elijah scolds him.
Kol just shrugs and sips his martini.
“You can’t exactly blame him, can you? She smells delectable.”
He freezes up at that. He’d almost forgotten for a second that his brothers could smell you too, and that if it came down to it, he would be last in line for a taste. No, he shakes his head. That simply won’t do. You’re his.
“Ah, don’t worry little brother,” Klaus nudges his shoulder. “She’s all yours.”
Their conversation is interrupted when you come back, tail between your legs, with the dessert menu. You practically toss it on the table in front of them, refusing to make eye contact.
Kol resists the urge to laugh at your bashfulness. Your shy demeanor only makes him want you more, the alcohol just barely sating his need to lay you across the bar and fuck you then and there.
“On second thought,” Kol says after examining the menu, “I think I’ll wait til later.”
You nod and take the menu from him, your hand brushing his larger one. The contact sends sparks through your nerves, goosebumps forming on your arm. You make a blissful second of eye contact with him before scurrying off.
—
Hours pass, and your shift is coming to an end. You managed to avoid that group for the rest of the night—Matt insisting on taking your shift so you don’t have to deal with what he calls the “Original” vampires.
Of course, just as you’ve walked out of the back with your hair loose and your apron stuffed away in your bag, a familiar voice calls to you.
“Leaving so soon darling?”
You stop dead in your tracks. You’ve always ignored customers as soon as you got off the clock, only focused on getting out of the door and back to your house. But that electric feeling in the pit of your stomach is so strong that it compels you to turn around and face him.
He’s so much taller than you, so much broader than you. He’s standing so close that you can smell him and that you have to look up to meet his eyes.
“Well, my shift’s over and I-I should really go study, so…”
“What a shame,” he offers you a dazzling smile, eyes practically ignited while looking at you. “I was hoping I could entice you into a drink.”
“A drink?” You swallow hard, “with you?”
“Of course, unless there’s someone else?”
Something about the darkness that falls over his face when he says that tells you to tread lightly. That dangerous electricity is back, and it's holding you in place. You know you should go home, you should study and go to sleep and never speak to him again. But you can’t.
“No! There’s, uh, there’s nobody else.”
He offers you his hand. “So, a drink then? My place?”
You reach hesitantly to grab it, knowing those sparks are going to consume your body like kindle the minute you do. The palm of your hand touches his and you know there’s no going back.
Twenty minutes later and you’re sitting on his couch, sipping a vodka cranberry. Kol sits next to you, just close enough that he can feel the heat radiating off of you. Anytime he shifts or speaks, that sandalwood scent floods your nostrils and stirs something in the pit of your stomach.
He gently sets a hand on your thigh, not missing how your blood pressure spikes. He inhales that sweet scent of your blood, now mixed with something else. Something that smells suspiciously like arousal.
“So, love,” he leans in closer, “how about a taste, hm?”
“A-a taste?” You can’t tell if he means a taste of your blood, or a taste of something else.
“Just a little, I promise it will be quick. It might even,” he lowers his voice, moving his lips closer to your soft neck, “feel good.”
His words have you clenching your legs, your pussy starting to ache from need. You’re sure he can smell it, with his super sense and all. His hot breath on the side of your neck already feels so good, you’re so tempted to let him drink from you.
“O-okay.”
Kol almost moans at that alone. He lets his fangs pierce through his gums, dragging the sharp teeth across the most sensitive part of your neck. One of his big hands wraps around the base of your throat, holding you still.
The graze of his teeth against your skin has you softly whimpering, biting your lip to not make too much noise. Just the thought of him sinking his fangs into your skin and sucking the blood straight from your vein has you gushing, panties beyond ruined.
There’s a slight burn and then a sharp pain as his fangs sink into you. You whine and squeeze your eyes shut, trying to stay still. You can feel the vibrations of him groaning at the taste, feel his fingers tapping against your throat. It’s almost overwhelming, the pain and pleasure combined.
“You’re being so good,” he mumbles into your skin, “such a good girl for me.”
You moan from his words. You are being a good girl, and god, it feels so good. He pulls away, keeping his hand on your neck. You shiver from the cold air on your warm skin, missing his touch.
He rubs his hand up and down your thigh. “That was very good, darling.” He gently squeezes your inner thigh, “do you want to keep being good for me?”
The offer is enticing, and despite having class tomorrow, you find yourself wanting to stay. Wanting to please him in any way he asks.
“I-I have class tomorrow, I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” You start to get off the couch, but just as you make it to your feet, he’s pressing himself against your back.
His hand squeezes the base of your throat, the other one rubbing your pussy through your jeans. “But didn’t it feel so good? I know you want more, love, I can smell it.”
You swallow, biting your lip to keep from moaning. His hands on you feel so good in themselves, and you wonder how other parts of him would feel.
“Just a few more minutes, hm? Then you can go home, snug as a bug.”
“I-I’m not sure…”
“But doesn’t it feel so good, being my good girl?” He digs his hand into your clit as if to prove his point. He knows he’s won you over when he feels you start to soak through your pants.
You sigh weakly, “okay, just a few more minutes.”
He guides you back to the couch, leaning over top of you. Your blood outlines his lips, his breath tasting like copper and liquor. He leans in, smashing his lips against yours.
One of his hands moves down to dig into your waist, fingers gripping you so hard you’ll bruise. He forces his tongue into your mouth, running it across the backside of your teeth.
You melt into his touch, letting him do whatever he wants.
His other hand snakes under your shirt, going to massage your chest. His cold fingers meet your overheating skin, pinching your nipple between them. You whine into his mouth, only granting him easier access to you.
“You’re being such a good girl,” he moves his lips down your neck, “such a good slut for me.”
“‘m not a slut,” you whine, your back arching into him against your will.
He pushes his knee between your legs, grinding it into you. The contact is all too much, and you’re hardly aware of the noises you’re making. Hardly aware of your own actions.
“Not a slut,” he says breathlessly. “But you’re fucking yourself against my leg.”
“I-I’m…” you trail off as you realize he hasn’t been moving his leg this whole time—you’ve just been grinding against him.
There’s a wet spot forming on his jeans from where you were rubbing yourself, and hot shame floods your body.
“I-I think it’s been more than a few minutes,” you go to stand but he tugs you into his lap.
“Aren’t you enjoying yourself? Enjoying being my little slut?”
You only get wetter with his words, and sitting on his lap like this, you can feel the imprint of his hard cock through his jeans. You can’t help but rock against him, desperate for friction, desperate for anything. Maybe being his slut isn’t such a bad thing…
He tugs your shirt over your head while you move, giving himself easier access to your chest. He sucks dark marks into your neck, fingers playing with your nipples while you grind your pussy into his bulge.
“Such a good little girl.” He groans, gripping your hips so he can grind against you.
You whine, trying to grind harder against him. You need more friction, you need more pressure.
“Tell me what you want, darling.”
“I-I—” you’re cut off by him pinching your nipples hard.
“Use your words.” He teases, biting into your neck.
You try to tell him you need more, but your words are failing you. All you can do is close your eyes and bite your lip and rock back and forth on his lap.
“Do you want me to fuck you? Fuck you hard and cum inside you, hm? Is that what my slut wants?”
You nod furiously, “yes, please.”
“I want to hear you say it.”
“I-I want you to fuck me, please fuck me, Kol. I-I need you so bad.”
Kol throws you over his shoulder faster than you can register, carrying you up to his bedroom. He tosses you on the bed, tugging his shirt off before hovering over you.
He strokes your jaw with his thick fingers, “if you want me to fuck you, you’re gonna prove how badly you want it.”
“P-prove it?”
He flips the two of you over so that he’s laying under you, his bulge grinding perfectly against your throbbing core. He bounces you up and down slightly, his hands gripping your hips.
“Prove how badly you want it, fuck yourself on my cock and then if you’re a good girl, I’ll give you what you want.”
You look down at his hard cock straining through his jeans. You’ve had sex before, sure, but you’ve never been on top. You’re not even quite sure how to ride.
You straddle his waist, tugging down your pants and panties. Your panties are absolutely soaked, ruined with your own slick. You gasp once the cold air hits your aching pussy.
Kol helps you to take off his own pants, his thick cock hitting his stomach. The pink tip is practically dripping with precum, coating his hard base in his own juices.
You can’t help but lick your lips at the sight. He’s so big, and you can practically taste the precum from here.
“What are you waiting for? Get on with it then.”
You slowly stroke the shaft, your hand barely wrapping around his girth. “I just,” you sigh, avoiding eye contact, “I’ve never really—”
“Been on top?”
“Yeah,” you squeeze his cock.
“Lucky me,” he smirks and grabs your hips, “don’t worry, love. I’ll guide you.”
You climb on top of him, lining up his cock with your dripping entrance. Just the feeling of his length hovering below you. You lean forward and slowly drive your hips back, Kol holding up your hips so you can push down onto him.
You sink onto his cock. It stretches you out as you push farther down on him, his cock perfectly filling you up. You whine, pressing yourself against his chest and driving your hips all the way down. Kol groans, digging his fingertips into your sides.
“Such a good whore,” he mumbles, letting you do all the work.
You desperately fuck yourself up and down his length, trying to get him all the way. He’s so big inside of you, all you want is to stuff yourself full of him. Your pussy gushes with every thrust, your juices leaking out and coating his groin.
“I-I need more,” you whine, pressing your face into his shoulder.
“Hm? You need more?”
“I need to cum, I’m so close, please…”
Kol grips your hips and flips over so that he’s laying on top of you. He drives his hips forwards, slamming his cock all the way inside of you. He grabs your ankles and throws your legs over his shoulder, giving himself a better angle.
He pistons into you, balls smacking against your ass with every thrust. “God, you’re so fucking tight. My little whore, spreading herself open for me.”
“I—Kol—”
He leans in to kiss on your neck, his teeth grazing where he’d bit you earlier. His tongue reaches out to lap up the dried blood, moans filling your ears.
“Kol, I-I’m so close!”
“Be a good girl and cum around my cock, huh darling?”
The pet name has those shivers traveling up your spine again, the pleasure reaching a point where it’s overwhelming. You dig your nails into his back, desperately whining for him to fuck you harder.
One more thrust and you’re coming undone, that knot in your stomach exploding. Your pussy gushes around him, that ache that’s been plaguing you all day finally fading.
Kol props himself up, shoulders straining to keep himself steady as he drives his cock inside you. Every thrust is a challenge, as if he’s trying to completely lose himself in your pussy. He’s gasping and grunting, and as soon as you feel his cock twitching, you know he’s close.
A few more sloppy thrusts and suddenly he’s cumming inside of you, hot streaks filling your pussy. He’s left gasping, lazily pumping inside of you. He flips you over so that you’re laying on his chest.
“Did that feel good, darling?” He strokes your hair, keeping you close to him.
“Mm, so good,” you mumble, eyes starting to close.
“You did so good for me, love. I can’t wait to see what that pretty little mouth can do, too.”
You feel yourself heating up at his words, but for now, all you can focus on is his hot cum running out of your pussy and coating your thighs. Kol rubs your back, letting you rest.

"Just a second!" I called at the sound of the doorbell. I set down the whisk and the bowl of brownie batter I'd been working on, then quickly wiped my hands before heading to the door. I peeked outside to see who it was and found none other than Elijah Mikaelson standing there, dressed impeccably in a suit as always and with his hands behind his back. I smiled, trying to ignore my racing heart as I opened the door.
"Hi Elijah," I said. He smiled as soon as he saw me, and my heart thumped a little harder than before.
"Hello, Y/N. It's lovely to see you," he said. With that, he brought his hands out from behind his back and held out a rose to me, along with a nice manila envelope. "For you."
"Oh my goodness, thank you," I said, reaching out to take both items from him. He'd brought me an actual rose, while wearing a suit. Like a Disney prince.
"The letter is an invitation to a ball my mother has decided to throw. She asked us each to find a date, and I couldn't think of anyone else I'd rather go with."
"Oh my gosh, Elijah! I... I don't know what to say."
"How about... yes?"
I beamed, holding the rose and the letter a little tighter to my chest.
"Yes. Absolutely yes, I'd love to go with you. I'm so happy you asked."
He smiled. "Excellent. I'd offer to pick you up, but my dear sister beat me to that request. She wanted me to ask you if you'd like to go dress shopping and get ready with her in, say, an hour?"
"Absolutely," I replied with a grin. "Rebekah and I are due some girl time."
"Wonderful. Then I'll see you tonight."
Elijah reached out and took my hand, placing a soft kiss on the back of it before stepping away from me with a smile. My heart melted.
"Until we meet again."
With that, he turned and walked away. I watched him go, waving when he got into his car and gave me one last smile before driving off. I stood on my porch for a few more minutes after he'd gone, a dopey but happy smile on my face. I could already tell this night was going to be magical.
Rebekah showed up on my doorstep an hour later on the dot. She'd just finished asking Matt Donovan to be her date, and although she insisted she didn't have feelings for him I felt confident she was lying. Still, I didn't press her on it as we cruised the shops of Mystic Falls trying on every dress that caught our eye. Once we'd each found the one, we went back to my house to get ready.
"Oh. My. God. My brother is going to have his first heart attack in a thousand years."
Rebekah grinned at me as I twirled around the room in my literal ball gown, feeling just like a princess. We'd done each others' makeup and had gotten completely dressed, and now we were basically ready to go. After, of course, we properly hyped each other up.
"You really think so?" I asked, the heat rising to my cheeks. Rebekah nodded.
"I know so."
"Thanks, Beks. And Matt's absolutely gonna fall over at the sight of you, too."
"You're damn right he is," she said, flipping her hair over one shoulder and holding out her arm for me. "Now let's go, shall we?"
I smiled as I took her arm and the two of us headed out to the car. The last rays of sunlight still stretched over the town as we came to a stop outside Mikaelson Manor. Cars lined the street and every other available parking spot, the party already in swing as Rebekah and I arrived.
"I can hear your heart racing," said Rebekah with a smile as we walked up the steps side by side. I huffed.
"Great. Good to know my nerves will be loudly on display for any vampire in attendance."
"You don't need to be nervous."
She said the words as we came to a stop in the entryway, people pausing to look at us before carrying on with their evening. A little ways up the grand staircase in the middle of the room, I could see Elijah standing and talking to Klaus. When he glanced in my direction and first caught sight of me, however, he froze, mouth slightly open before a smile tugged its way onto his face. He said something to his brother, then started walking down the stairs and towards me.
"See? He's head over heels," said Rebekah, leaning in to whisper the words in my ear. I could hear the smirk in her voice. "I'll give you two some space."
With that, she disappeared into the crowd. A moment later, Elijah stood before me, looking even more handsome than usual (which I hadn't thought possible) in an immaculate tuxedo.
"I'm so glad you made it," he said, his words a bit breathless. He looked me up and down, his expression awed, and I smiled back at him. "You look... absolutely stunning."
"Thank you," I said, doing a little curtesy. Elijah grinned. "You look fantastic, too."
"You're very kind."
He paused, staring at me for another few moments, and despite the noise in the rest of the room I had a feeling he could hear my heart pounding. Finally, he held his arm out to me, grinning with a gleam in his eye.
"Come with me," he said. "I have a few people I'd like you to meet."
We made our way around the room, me holding tight to Elijah's arm as he at last introduced me to the rest of his family. I'd met Klaus and obviously Rebekah, but now I got to meet Kol, Finn, and his mother, too. I got the distinct impression his mother was up to something bad, and Elijah shared similar suspicions with me as we moved back into the crowd. But, for tonight, we decided to put every supernatural problem on hold and enjoy the magical evening together.
Finally, after a toast from the Original family themselves, it was time to take to the dance floor. Elijah immediately found me, offering a hand.
"May I have this dance?"
I smiled and took his hand. "Of course."
Elijah led me out onto the dance floor, twirling me into the dance's starting position amidst all the other couples. All kinds of different friends, foes, and otherwise interesting guests dotted the floor, but I ignored every single one of them. The rest of the room fell away as Elijah and I twirled into the first steps of the dance, eyes only for each other.
"I feel like I'm in a fairytale," I admitted, smiling as Elijah twirled me out and away from him before pulling me back into his chest. The look on his face sent warmth blooming through my chest.
"You certainly look the part of a fairytale princess."
I grinned, laughing a little and leaning my head on Elijah's chest. When I looked up again, I found him smiling at me, and in that moment I couldn't possibly have been happier.
"Says the literal Disney prince."
Elijah chuckled. "A Disney prince, hm?"
"Impeccable manners and honor, a true gentleman, handsome, dresses nice, and brought me a rose to ask me on a date? Yes. A Disney prince."
"I didn't realize I checked so many of the boxes."
"Easily."
"Well then, I'm very lucky to have found my princess."
I beamed at Elijah as the dance wound to an end, his arms wrapped tight around my waist as he held me to his chest. Slowly, just barely, he leaned down and glanced at my lips. I knew he wanted to take it slow for me, which I appreciated, but this was one thing I didn't want to take it slow on anymore.
"May I kiss you?" he muttered, voice low with only a few inches between us. I grinned.
"Hell yes."
"You know, I don't think Disney princesses swear-"
"Oh, shut up."
With that, I closed the distance between us and kissed Elijah, hard. He immediately returned the kiss, deepening it a little bit, although not too much since we were still in the middle of the dance floor. And just like in basically every Disney princess movie, in that moment, with Elijah, I knew I'd found my happily ever after.

YOU PACED around your room, irritation accompanying each step. In one hand, you held your phone to your ear. With the other, you pinched your forehead to relieve a growing headache.
"What the hell were you thinking?!" You hissed. "You gave Jeremy drugs? He's fourteen! You know he's in an extremely vulnerable place right now! God, how could you be so stupid?!"
"Hello to you too."
"Ryder!"
Ryder chuckled on the other end. You released your forehead and squeezed your fist. If only he was in the room with you. You'd stare into his pretty eyes and slap the smirk off his face. Maybe you'd mess up the dark, shiny curls on his head too.
"Chill out, okay? He asked for them. It's not like I walked up to him and said,'I know you're a freshman and all, but how would you like to get high?'"
"I know..." You sighed. Maybe you'd overreacted... kids did drugs all the time. Hell, you'd been mixing lethal combinations from the time you were fifteen until about three months ago.
And if he didn't get them from Ryder, he'd get them from someone else. At least Ryder knew him and would look out for him....sort of.
"For what it's worth, I am sorry." You could practically hear Ryder's smile on the other end. "I missed you, Y/N." You scoffed. "I mean it. We should hang out tonight."
You looked herself over in your vanity mirror. He would love your outfit: diamond earrings, a lacy black dress, and your trusty leather jacket. If only he wasn't such a douche.
"Sorry, I can't. I'm meeting Bonnie and Caroline at The Grill tonight."
"What?"
"You remember Bonnie and Caroline, right? I mean, you haven't met them but..." You turned in the mirror, inspecting your body. You looked good.
"Yeah, I remember..."
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, it's just that you guys haven't spoken in months and..."
"And what?"
"I didn't know you three were stll friends," Ryder admitted.
You stopped turning. "Of course we are, silly. I've known them since forever."
"Y/N... you remember what Dr. Blake said, right? About–"
"I know," You snapped, no trace of the nonchalance you had before. "But he also said that I should try to get things back to normal so no one suspects anything. Bon and Care are my normal."
"I trust your judgment."
A faint voice crackled on his end. "Is that her?"
"Who's that?" You asked. You couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman...whoever it was, they didn't seem happy.
"... No one. I'll call you back, Y/N."
Click.
"Hello? Ryder?" You looked at your phone's home screen and scoffed in disbelief. This jerk just hung up on you! "Asshole."
A door slammed shut downstairs. Curious, you left your room to investigate, and found Jenna loudly rummaging through the cupboards.
"Jenna?"
Hands still searching, she glanced at you and smiled. She hadn't gotten used to having you around yet but was enjoying the company. "Hey, Y/N."
"What are you doing?"
Jenna brought her full attention to the cupboards. "Just... looking for something," She grunted, now on her tiptoes.
"How was your presentation?"
"Let's just say I wanted to down an entire bottle of vodka when it was over."
That explained her behavior. "That bad, huh?"
Jenna pulled out the largest cocktail glasses she could find and filled them with ice. "How was school?"
"Oh, the usual," You shrugged, watching Jenna fill the glasses with Sprite... the closest she could get to vodka, apparently. "Although there is a new kid this year. His name is Stefan."
"Ooh," Jenna commented, wiggling her eyebrows as she placed a glass in front of you. "Is he cute?"
You blushed and smiled sheepishly. "Yeah."
Jenna smirked and sipped her drink smugly. They didn't have sit-downs often, but during her past visits, she'd always ask if you found a boyfriend or potential crush. And every time, you would practically bite her head off as you insisted that you didn't have time for boys and their foolishness.
The closest you ever came to committing to someone was in your relationship with Matt, but even Jenna could see you weren't fully content. So when you broke up, it wasn't much of a surprise. Everyone saw it coming. Everyone except Matt.
"You're dressed up," Jenna observed as she sized you up. It wasn't your best outfit, as it was relatively simple, but it did its job. She crossed her arms over her chest. "Should I be worried?"
"Not at all," You promised, chuckling. "I'm going to The Grill to hang with Bonnie and Caroline."
"Oh, okay, I got this!" Jenna said eagerly. This was the parental moment she'd been waiting for. "Wait for this... don't stay out too late. It's a school night."
"Beautiful," You said. Jenna grinned, celebrating the small accomplishment with a fist pump. You raised your glasses and clinked them together triumphantly. "You really have this whole parenting thing in the bag. You should have your own kid someday."
Jenna laughed. "Thanks, but I think two volatile teenagers are enough."
You put you empty glass on the counter and pushed yourself off the chair, ready to go. "Have fun!" Jenna called after you. Just as you started to reply, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" You announced, rushing to answer the unexpected visitor. When you opened the door, you were surprised to find none other than Stefan awkwardly standing on your porch steps, his hands tucked in his jacket pockets. "Hi."
"Hi."
You raised an eyebrow, waiting for an explanation. He cleared his throat. "I wanted to apologize for my disappearing act earlier. I know it was...strange."
"Not as strange as Hitchcock come to life," You joked. He laughed. You smiled, finding herself slightly in love with the sound—it was music to your ears. "Don't worry about it. Hemophobia is no joke... Wait, are you hemophobic?"
"Uh... something like that," He answered vaguely. "Anyways, I thought you might want this back."
He pulled a familiar brown leather book from his pocket. You gasped. "My journal!" You exclaimed, taking it from his hands. "Thank you so much, I didn't even realize it was gone!"
He nodded. "Glad I could help."
"Not that I'm not grateful, but... you didn't read it, did you?"
"No."
You held back a relieved sigh. "Okay, good. Can I ask why? Not that I wanted you to—definitely not—but I'm pretty sure that anyone else in this town would have."
He frowned. "I wouldn't want anyone reading mine," He said as if that were as obvious as the sky's color.
You were taken back by his response. "You keep a journal?"
"Yeah, if I don't write it down, I forget it," He explained. "Memories are too important."
You nodded. Most guys you met seemed to think that journals were a "girly" thing. It was refreshing to meet a boy who saw the value in recording thoughts and dreams...even if it was just a therapy assignment.
"Sorry, can you hold on one sec?" Stefan nodded cluelessly. You turned around and headed to the kitchen just as your aunt was leaving. "Jenna!"
Jenna stopped. "Hm?"
"Can you please put this in my room?" You asked, holding out your journal. Jenna's eyes darted to the book and she stopped her jaw from dropping open.
Truth be told, this was a big step for you. The only person you ever let touch it was Holly, and this didn't go unnoticed in Jenna's mind.
She bit back a smile, swallowing her excitement, and tried to keep a casual demeanor. "Sure."
As she reached for the diary, her eyes averted to the door, and she flashed an impressed look when she saw the stranger's face. "Who's that?"
You glanced at the door and smiled shyly. "Stefan," You responded in a low voice, not wanting your aunt to get any ideas or for the guest to hear you.
"The new kid you were telling me about?" Jenna mumbled. You nodded. "Wow, he is cute. Go get 'em, tiger."
"Jenna!" You whisper-yelled. Jenna laughed at the flustered look on you face before leaving to put away your diary.
You turned back around and walked over to Stefan, who tried his hardest to fight his creeping smile. You hoped he hadn't heard that embarrassing exchange. "Hey, so... I was on my way to meet a few friends at The Grill—it's kind of like a mix between a bar and cafe—and I thought maybe you'd like to join me. You know, as thanks for returning my journal."
"Sure."
"Really?" You asked, smiling at his nonchalance. "Great, let me just grab my coat. It's supposed to be like forty degrees out tonight."
You pulled your coat off the nearby rack and stepped outside, making sure to lock the door behind you.
As you and Stefan walked along the sidewalk on that chilly September night, the only sounds that cut the strained silence were the music blasting from passing cars and the gentle howl of the wind. The hairs stood on your arm—and it wasn't from the cold.
"So, how do you like it here in Mystic Falls so far?" You suddenly asked, trying to break the suffocating quiet. "Not too peppy, I hope."
Stefan chuckled softly, giving a light shake of his head. "No, it's not. I was actually born here, but I moved a long time ago when I was a kid."
"Oh. So what do you do in your free time when you're not meeting strange girls at cemeteries?"
"I like to read and write," He answered. You smiled. So did you. More recently, you'd picking up drawing. "Most of the time, I stay with my uncle."
"Uncle?" You repeated. "No parents?"
"No, they died."
You frowned. That must have been why he was at the cemetery. "I'm sorry for your loss," You said gently. You of all people knew what it was like, and although you weren't keen on sharing your experiences, you were tempted to so he wouldn't feel alone. But after months of pity and fruitless attempts to relate from your neighbors, you knew how ineffective that really was.
"It's fine," Stefan responded dismissively. Maybe his parents have something to do with the move. Or maybe he just wanted to save himself from the awkwardness of receiving condolences. "What about you?"
"Nothing to tell here. My parents are gone too, so it's just me, my aunt, and my brother," You explained. It wasn't exactly something you enjoyed talking about and yet somehow got mentioned in every conversation, so you were especially eager to change the subject. "What's your favorite color?"
"Blue."
You lifted a brow. "Sky blue or ocean blue?"
"Steel blue."
"That's a new one," You commented. "My favorite color is red—crimson, to be exact. Who's your favorite superhero?"
"I don't have one," He casually revealed, readying himself for your appalled reaction. He'd had this discussion countless times and had yet to meet a single person who wasn't shocked by the confession.
And it turned out he was right. The revelation made you gape at him. "You don't have a favorite superhero?" You asked rhetorically. You'd known something about him was different because he gave off this...vibe, but everyone you'd ever known at least had one favorite superhero at one point in time.
Stefan shrugged. "I don't know, I've just never been into that kind of thing."
"Alright," You said, nodding. "But you said you're into books, right?"
"Definitely," He enthusiastically confirmed. "My favorite would have to be The Great Gatsby, maybe The Odyssey, on a good day."
"You are the first person I've ever heard say that," You admitted with a laugh. He smiled. "What are you, like a child prodigy or something?"
"No, I've just always loved to read. I guess you could say I'm a little old-fashioned that way."
You nodded. "Okay, and what about your favorite band or singer?"
"Currently?" He asked. "Um, it's a tie...between Willie Nelson and Patsy Cline."
"Oh, so you like old music," You remarked, amazed by his outdated but golden taste. "In that case, what is your favorite movie or show from the 20th century?"
"Seinfeld and I Love Lucy."
"Hold up, what?" You asked, surprised with his immediate response. "Seinfeld I get but I Love Lucy? Have you forgotten about the hilarious 1950s masterpiece I like to call The Donna Reed Show?"
"You want to compare Donna Reed to Lucy Ricardo?"
"Donna Reed is an icon!"
"So is Lucy Ricardo!" Stefan argued. "Have you ever watched I Love Lucy?"
You began to say yes but quickly realized that wasn't true and closed your mouth. Stefan gave you a smug, playful grin before saying,"That's what I thought."
"Well, have you ever seen Donna's show?" You asked, not at all offended by his complacent tone. If anything, you thought it made him even more likable.
"When it came out," Stefan said without missing a beat and then broke into another grin.
She laughed. "Alright, Grandpa. How old are you anyway?"
"Seventeen. You?"
"Sixteen," You said. "But turning seventeen in June."
"Are you excited?"
"Not really," You admitted, tucking your hair behind your ear as you looked down. Normally, you wouldn't open up to a stranger, but the whole town knew of your troubles and he would learn eventually, assuming he hadn't already.
Besides, there was something about him. Maybe it was his old soul. But he seemed to brim with wisdom and understanding. There was something just so comforting about Stefan, like he was looking into your soul without a trace of judgment.
"It's gonna be my first birthday without my parents."
Anniversaries were some of the hardest days to get through. But you were determined to push through and make it the most epic birthday party ever. As proof that you really moved on. Denial at its best.
You looked up to discover that you were approaching the Mystic Grill. "Looks like we're here. You are going to love Bonnie and Caroline. They're awesome."
"Any friend of yours must be," Stefan said, opening the door for you. You smiled and thanked him as you walked through. Smart, cute, good sense of humor, and a gentleman? Either he was a fallen angel or a spawn from Hell...someone like him seemed too good to be true.
Almost immediately after Stefan stepped inside, you were greeted by your ex, who you'd forgotten hung out here with his best friend, Tyler Lockwood, after school. Sure enough, Caroline and Tyler were standing by the pool time, watching you and your....friends...intently.
Great, now Matt was going to think you were trying to rub this in his face—as if what you did before wasn't bad enough.
"Hey, I'm Matt," He addressed cooly, extending his hand. "Nice to meet you."
"Hi," Stefan greeted and gave Matt's hand a firm shake. "Stefan."
Matt's gaze averted to you, and you forced a smile, offering a small awkward wave. "Hey."
"Hey," He drawled. Your eyes danced around The Grill to find anything else to talk about, and you breathed a small sigh of relief when you noticed Bonnie waving at you.
"Oh look, there's Bonnie!" You practically exclaimed. "We should go."
You spared an uneasy look in Matt's direction and beelined for Bonnie's table. Stefan followed wordlessly.
"Hey, guys!" You chirped. Caroline muttered a cheerful goodbye to Tyler, who narrowed his eyes at you, and your two besties jumped to embrace you. You didn't miss the way Caroline looked at Stefan, like he was a delicious platter of meat she wanted to take a bite of. It seemed that Stefan didn't miss it either. He quickly shunted his eyes to you. You smiled reassuringly.
After a round of introductions, everyone got settled. Stefan slid beside you. Bonnie and Caroline sat on the other side—Caroline made sure she was eye-to-eye with Stefan. Bonnie placed a cup in front of you, who looked at her questioningly.
"Large vanilla iced coffee, seven pumps of vanilla syrup, nine shots of sugar, heavy whipped cream, and extra caramel drizzle," Bonnie listed before stopping to take a breath. "Just the way you like it."
"You know me so well," You said, impressed. Three months away and Bonnie still remembered your order. If there was even a slim chance Bonnie wanted you to feel guilty, it was working. "Thanks, Bon."
You sipped your iced coffee, remembering how much you used to savor it before everything happened. The bitter taste of coffee mixed with delicious pumps of vanilla, caramel, and whipped cream...it was heaven in a plastic cup.
You expected to smile, but instead, you grimaced, adjusting to the explosion of sweetness. You managed to swallow your repulsion. The drink didn't taste terrible, but during your time in the center, you hadn't been allowed to consume sweets. Not unless you...
No. You couldn't think about that right now, not when you were with your friends. You weren't in the center anymore. You were free. Free to eat and drink whatever you desired with clean hands.
Unaware of Bonnie's baffled stare, you continued to sip, this time enjoying it.
Caroline looked at Stefan, a lively smile brightening her features. "So Stefan..." Bonnie blinked out of her trance. "...you were born in Mystic Falls?"
"Mm-hmm. And moved when I was still young."
"Parents?" Bonnie asked.
He smiled awkwardly. "My parents passed away."
Bonnie glanced at you, then at Stefan, considering your very obvious similarity. "I'm sorry to hear that. Any siblings?"
"None that I talk to. I live with my uncle."
Bonnie and Caroline nodded, unsure of how to respond. Sometimes, it was hard to talk to people when you couldn't relate to them or their situations, and so far, they hadn't found any common ground. You leaned back and sipped your drink, racking your brain for something to say. Anything to say.
"So, Stefan," Caroline spoke up, beating you to it. "If you're new, then you don't know about the party tomorrow."
"It's a back-to-school thing at The Falls," Bonnie explained. Mystic Falls threw celebrations for practically any event, and you weren't surprised that Caroline was the first to mention it. After all, she was the queen of throwing parties, a title that no one else in the school's history had even come close to earning. But as much as Caroline loved hosting festivities, she almost enjoyed attending them even more.
"Are you going?" Stefan asked, turning to you. You hadn't been planning on it, but Bonnie was quick to intervene.
"Of course she is," She said, giving you a look. You laughed quietly and nodded.
"Yeah, it'll be fun," You added and looked at your friends, your eyes lighting up as you reminisced about the previous bonfire. "Remember last year?"
Caroline scoffed. "Everyone remembers last year."
"What happened last year?" Stefan asked.
The girls traded looks. You raised your eyebrows and stifled a laugh. "Let's just say the fire department got some free beer."
The group continued to chat for a bit with Bonnie making jokes left and right, and Caroline casually drilling Stefan for whatever bits of information she could get out of him. Though you suspected she'd already run at least three background checks on him.
Eventually, the stars emerged. When ten o'clock came around, Caroline and Bonnie had already left for home, but you and Stefan stayed back a bit and conversed about the most random topics, very interested in getting to know one another.
And for the first time in forever, you didn't feel like the broken girl who was holding onto too many secrets for your own good. You felt...normal.
It was a great feeling. But any feeling could only last for so long.

It's always the small guys
Character: Jeremy Gilbert x male reader; mentioned Tyler Lockwood, Matt Donovan
Universe: somewhere in Vampire Dairies
Warnings: slight Angst, slight fluff
Y/N moved slowly, unable to straighten his sore legs more than a few inches at a time. His back was strained from the previous day's activities.
His strange movements were not immediately noticed by those around him, except for the person he was approaching. Inwardly, he berated himself for doing such stupid things during the week when school and football practice inevitably came up.
Just a short distance from one of his longtime best friends, he winced and needed to rest for a moment when he accidentally took a normal stride, causing pain in his aching body.
At that moment, Matt, Y/N's best friend, noticed him and gave him a questioning look. "Are you all right, bro?" he asked. His thoughtless question sent Y/N into a spiral of doubt. Wasn't he paying enough attention to seem normal? But then again, Matt has always been more observant than most people - except when it comes to Elena, in which case he's blind as a stone.
Y/N took a deep breath to calm himself and answer his friend's question, but the sudden expansion of his lungs increased his pain into overdrive. With an almost inaudible groan, he crashed loudly into the lockers to his friend's left.
Concerned, Matt stepped into action, stabilizing his almost-falling friend. "I'm fine," Y/N unconvincingly tried to sway Matt's opinion of his dire situation.
"Okay, let's... get you up for now," Matt tried to show his innocence but was just as unconvincing as his friend had been before. Although Y/N and Taylor, their mutual second best friend and third musketeer, always joked about Matt's apparent lack of intelligence, he once again marveled at his friend's attentiveness. "How about we try again, maybe without the lies?"
For a second, Y/N thought he heard assertiveness in his gentle friend's voice but pushed those silly thoughts away. Knowing he could not even command a flock of ducks if he tried.
"I just...I overdid my exercises yesterday," Y/N finally admitted.
But the only reaction he got from his friend was a raised eyebrow and his arms folded across his chest. He knew what that meant. Matt was readying himself to lecture him... again.
"How many times do I-"
"Hey. Woah, what's going on here?"
Y/N sighed with relief when he saw Tylor. His glittering eyes pointed at his rescuer, who leisurely walked towards them. When Tylor noticed the longing gaze aimed at him, a one-sided grin suddenly appeared on his square face.
"So you finally realized?" He asked ominously as he reached his two friends.
Suddenly the atmosphere around the three friends changed. Matt’s questioning, slightly disapproving look now stat fest laying on Tylors’ trained frame. His button-up shirt is open - for some reason. It wasn’t warm enough for something like that yet and didn’t even wear his letterman jacket, which he never lefts without.
"What?" Y/N and Matt asked in unison.
"That you want a piece of me. I always knew the day would come when you realize I'm the only one who can give you what you really need."
He came painfully close to Y/N, took his hand, and ran it over his beautifully chiseled torso. Y/N felt more than uncomfortable but remained frozen in place. His second best friend was undoubtedly attractive, but it would've been like sleeping with his brother. Even thinking about it made him shudder.
"Back of Tylor! Y/N already has a boy toy that he is very much in love with!"
The eyes of the boy being spoken about widened in shock at hearing his gentle friend's blunt comment. His eyes searched the hallway, hoping no one had heard his indecent words, especially not him. His left hand flew within seconds, landing over Matt's running mouth, rendering him unable to speak. Y/N's eyes were even larger than before. With fear clearly visible inside them.
"Are you out of your mind?“ He asked him angrily, in a whispery tone.
Just as Matt was about to respond, eyes glittering like those of a kicked golden retriever. Another voice interrupted him.
“What is going on here?“ The voice asked smugly.
The question was not surprising, yet Y/N was unwilling to answer it. So without further ado, knowing full well that there was no way either of his best friends would tell him, Tylor started to pout slightly. When this still got no reaction from them, he clicked his tongue dismissively, turned, and walked away angrily, fists balled.
Still, Y/N waited until Tylor was well away before taking his hands off his other friend's mouth. "He'll be back by the evening at the latest, propping for the answers he wants, you know that, don't you?"
"Yup,“ Y/N sighed heavily.
"So what is it, brother? Your inability to walk properly and bad excuses for not being at practice yesterday?”
“I was sick!“
"Suddenly, you were sick? Stop that crap, dude! I know perfectly well that you didn't exercise yesterday. So what's up, bro? Are you on drugs?"
Stunned, Y/N's nervous eyes darted to his friend, unable to comprehend how he came to such a delusional conclusion. He bowed his head angrily. "Please promise me you won't tell Tylor. I really don't want to be even more sexually harassed by him than he already does."
“Why should he-?“
"I... was intimate with him all day yesterday," Y/N whispered fearfully. Hoping nobody else would hear it.
"Okay..." Matt was confused, "then why can't you walk?"
Y/N knew his friend was dense, but that? Looking around again, he leaned in more discreetly this time, making it look like he was about to kiss his friend.
"Because he almost split me in two when he..."
Even more confused, Matt took a staggering step back to put some space between himself and his friend. However, his hot breath still lingered on his neck and the fine hairs on his ear.
Suddenly a light appeared in his head. His eyes scanned Y/N's body with a shocked look on his face.
"But you're the man!" he yelled softly. "Football captain, gym rat, student president, popular with girls and boys," he reminded his friend almost angrily. "And you're fucking hung!" Matt finally burst out screaming.
A faint pink blush crept up Y/N's cheeks. He didn't know how to react to his friend's reaction to having his privates etched in his memory. But it was all forgotten when he felt how many eyes were on him. It made him shudder with discomfort.
"You have no idea!" Y/N said softly to Matt. He was just as shocked as his friend. He never thought he would let anyone get close to him like that, but that day everything shattered inside of him, and the guy who was to blame rebuilt him, but more to his liking. "He's hiding a monster!"
Right at that moment, someone brushed past Y/N's shoulder quite hard. Only out of the corner of his eye could he see Jeremy's disapproving look. He swallowed audibly when he saw him there.
"So you're Jeremy's boy toy then? He's two years younger than you!"
"And? As if that matters! And no, neither of us is the other's plaything! You know we're a couple!" Y/N said, now annoyed at his friend, rolling his eyes dramatically while he dismissively waved him away. "Please excuse me now. I need to appease my boyfriend before he punishes me...again!"
As Y/N walked away, Matt could only stand there, stunned by too much information. How could a guy like Y/N get so... strange?
He watched as his friend went to his younger boyfriend and hugged him from behind, a silly smile on both faces. Just by looking at it, Matt never would have guessed that what he now knows was a fact. It made it seem like Y/N is the man in their relationship, yet he lies beneath his younger, much smaller boyfriend every time they do it together.
It seems it was time for Matt to redefine his world as Y/N had questioned his worldview for him. Because in his eyes, his second best friend will never be less than "the man" to him. But in the same train of thought, he quickly realized why Y/N had asked him not to tell Tylor about it. Then he would never let Y/N hear the end of it.
But just as Matt turned around, something else hit him in the head. He quickly turned to take a look at Jeremy's pants. They're as always baggier than anything else. Which made him wonder what Y/N had told him about the size of his privates.
He knows Y/N is well endowed. So how big does Jeremy have to be for him to see it and change his entire worldview? Matt is intrigued and has to find out somehow. After all, it has to be extraordinary when Y/N bows to this.
Tylor watched it all from the sidelines. The existential crisis Matt is going through and the weird walk his other best friend takes.
Another grin immediately graced his face. As he turned, his eyes searched the hallway for a specific person he was looking for. "Ohhh, Stefan!" He sings the other's name.
Rolling his eyes, Stefan turned away from Elena to see what Tylor wanted from him. But the first thing he saw was an outstretched hand. Confused, his gaze wandered up to meet the other guy's eyes. "What?" he asked, already out of patience.
“I won the bet!“
"Impossible!“
"See for yourself." He lightly grabbed Stefan's shoulders and maneuvered him to see Y/N and Jeremy together. But it wasn't until they walked away hand in hand that Stefan let out an exaggerated sigh. He quickly pulled out twenty dollars and handed it to Tylor. "Nice doing business with you!"
As he moved away from Stefan, Tylor was already thinking of new ways to annoy Y/N and maybe finally break him to get a piece of him too. After all, he's everyone's type, right?

The Hope of the Mikaelsons family Part Two
Summary: Y/n and Klaus deepen their bond as they spend the day painting together at Klaus's mansion. Caroline tries to reassure Elena and the others about Klaus's character, emphasizing that he has changed since his daughter's disappearance. Meanwhile, Marcel contacts the others to discuss the surprising news about Caroline's younger sister, Y/n, who shares the same name and age as Hayley’s missing daughter.
"Hey, I'm here, sorry for being late." Carolina sat on a chair next to Elena
"What took you guys so long? " Elena asks but she noticed you were not here "Wait, where's Y/n?"
"She's with Klaus." Carolina smiles
"Klaus Mikaelson is here?" Bonnie asked shocked
"Yes." Caroline nods with a smile
"Why did you leave Y/n with him? He's dangerous. " Elena says worried about your safety
"Come on, you know he changed."
"Do you really believe that he did?" Elena asks
"You know that he changed for his daughter." Caroline answers
"But sadly she got taken away."
"If he didn't change he would be after you Elena." Caroline looks over at Elena
"You're probably right Caroline that he has changed. " Elena smiles
"Believe me he did and I know for sure he wouldn't hurt Y/n. " Caroline smiles, knowing that she can trust Klaus with you
"So where are we going?" You asked Klaus
"To my Mansion I hope your sister doesn't mind." Klaus smiles
"Can we paint?" You asked with your puppy eyes
"Of course love." Klaus grabs your hand
"Rebekah, your family and you need to come to Mystic falls. " Marcel says, though the phone
"Why did something happen?" Rebekah asked worried
"No, but something might happen. I can't tell you over the phone it has to be in person." Marcel answers
"Fine, we'll be there tomorrow." Rebekah ends up
Marcel walks into the living room to find Klaus and you painting, "she loves painting just like you."
Klaus smiled "Yes, she does."
"As much as I love shopping, we have to be done, I need to go get my sister from Klaus." Caroline took out her phone to call Klaus "hey where are you guys?"
"We're at my Mansion painting Why?"
"It's time to go home, see you in three.”
"No, it's fine, I'll bring her home."
"Klaus I don't think it's a good you know how's my mother."
"I know, but Y/n is having so much painting."
"Fine, bring her home before 7."
"I should will."
"So?"
"I guess we can go on and shop again."
"Why did Marcel call you?" Freya asked
"He wants us to go to Mystic falls because he needs to tell us something." Rebekah says
"I can't leave New Orleans, I still need to look for my daughter." Hayley tells Rebekah
"I know Hayley but he wants us to go to Mystic falls." Rebekah tells Hayley
"Is it really that important that he couldn't tell you over the phone?" Kol asked
"Klaus probably did something stupid." Elijah said
"Who knows but we're leaving tomorrow."
Klaus was walking you to your house "love I had so much fun today."
"I did too. could we do it again?"
"Of course."
Your sister opened the door with a smile "thank you so much for bringing her home safely."
"Of course Caroline we had so much fun today."
"I'm glad that you both did."
"Bye love, have a good night. " Klaus gave you a kiss and a hug as Caroline give him a sad smile
"Bye Caroline."
"Bye Klaus."
It's been a long drive for the Mikaelson siblings and Hayley but at least they were in Mystic falls already
"Thank you guys for coming. " Marcel welcome them
"Now tell us what you couldn't tell me over the phone." Rebekah tells Marcel
"Caroline has a small sister." Marcel tells them
"And?" Kol rolls his eyes
"What does that have to do with us?" Rebekah asks
"You made us come here just to tell us that Klaus's girlfriend has a sister." Kol crossed his arm
"Klaus has been hanging out with her so much she loves painting just like Klaus now they're painting buddies." Marcel says
"I'm confused when did Caroline have a sister?" Freya asked
"Probably she was hiding her from the drama and the supernatural that's going on." Hayley answers
Marcel gives Hayley a sad look "Hayley I'm sorry."
"What are you sorry for? " Hayley asked, confused
"For what I'm going to say her name is also Y/n and she's also five years old just like your-"
"Just like my daughter. " Hayley says sadly "I want to meet her so take me with her
"She'll be here in a few minutes."
minutes later They heard a door open
"They're here."
Klaus and you walked into the living room, Klaus was shocked to see his family here
"Hey. " Klaus greets making everyone to turned around to face Klaus and you they gave you a shock stare
"Meet Y/n forbes." Klaus smiles
"Hey little one. " Everyone smiles at you
"Hey Klaus, can I talk to you? " Hayley asks
"Can it wait?" Klaus says
"No."
"Fine Y/n stay here I'll be back."
"Why didn't you tell me about Y/n?" Hayley asks hurt
"Because I didn't wanted you to think that she's our daughter." Klaus tells Hayley sad
"I know, but I deserve to know about her. I wanted to go back to New Orleans, but I'm going to stay just in case."
"I don't know if Marcel told you but she loves painting. She's a professional at painting." Klaus smile
"Yeah, he told us." Hayley laughs, "I didn't know that Caroline has a sister."
"I didn't know either, but Caroline told me Y/n was living with some family In New York because Caroline and their mother wanted her away from the drama and to keep her safe."
"Interesting."
"I know right but anyways let's go back to the living room."
Klaus and Hayley went back to the living room to see that you started already painting
Hayley looks at you "She's a good painter."
Klaus nodded "you should see her drawings as well, she's making beautiful drawings."
"Klaus come here and paint with me." You said
"I'll be right there in a second." Klaus tells you
Hayley went to sit on the couch with Freya and Rebekah as kol and Marcel were watching Klaus and you paint
"Are you ok Hayley?" Freya asks, worry
"I don't know if I'm?" Hayley answers
"What's wrong?" Rebekah asked
"I don't know, but I feel a connection with Y/n she's just like Klaus, they both love painting." Hayley says
"I feel it too. There's something about her and we're going to figure it out."
"Ok painters come here and take a break Elijah baked cookies for us to enjoy." Freya said, smiling at you
"Yay cookies I love cookies." You jump up and down happily
"Here's your milk sweetie." Hayley handed you your glass of milk
"Thank you, could we watch a Disney movie?"
"Of course love what movie do you want to watch?"
"I want to watch Encanto."
You lay between Klaus and Hayley as the Mikaelsons and Marcel smiled at the image of the three of you that they decided to take a picture to have it as a memory
By the time the movie ended you fell as sleep with both Klaus and Hayley holding you as they slept as well, everyone were sleeping not waking up as Klaus phone kept ringing
"There's bad news Sheriff Forbes."
"What is it?"
"The Mikaelsons are back in town."

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 - 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Blood Kink, Harsh language
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: You loved sex with Stefan, but sex with ripper was also good too. Lately Stefan hadn't been able to control his ripper side, but he slowly was gaining control again. He couldn't resist having some fun before coming back to reality.
NOT PROOFREAD
“Come on, pretty girl. You can’t deny your anticipation for me right now.” Stefan breathed down your neck, he was completely so far gone at this point.
You couldn’t see his face, but you were sure the veins underneath his eyes were prominent at this point. Certainly, he could feel your heart beating out of your chest. It wasn’t like you could die. You were already a vampire. So, the thought of him ripping into your flesh only made you crave it. The craving intensified as he trailed his lips over your neck. His breath against your skin gave you immediate goosebumps. Stefan was not one to be shy in bed; So, you could imagine that being with ripper was very much like ecstasy. Ripper Stefan had a blood kink and when he is not in his normal mood, you didn’t hold him back from divulging into some of your blood.
You let out a whimper before coming to your senses. “Have me. All of me, I am yours.” You said, preparing yourself for the wild ride ahead of you. You could feel his soft lips press against your neck-Of course, right in your sweet spot. Before you could bask in the fact that he was being so gentle, you felt a piercing sensation in your neck. It caught you off guard, but it felt good. You didn’t know what it was about Stefan biting into you, but the simple thought that all of you would be Stefan’s is what drove you to be submissive.
Within seconds, your body was pinned against the cold wall of your room. The thoughts of Stefan fucking you senseless creeped their way into your once innocent mind. You were now facing Stefan, his body pressed into yours. You could feel him grow hard, as the dirty thoughts started finding their way into his mind as well. He wiped his lips of your blood, bringing his fingers to your lips. Your lips parted, making way for his fingers to enter in your mouth. You could feel the puddle growing in your pants. Your wound was open, but you didn’t even care. All you were worried about was sucking the blood off his fingers and leaving them dry. The taste of the blood was sweet to you, I mean, it was yours. He smirked; His eyes were darker than the night sky. He pressed his crotch against you more, “You see what you did?” He chucked, throwing you to the bed.
You moved your hair from out of your face, the throw messing your clothes up. He found his way on top of you, not wasting anytime. He ripped off the shirt that covered your chest, his veins in his arms prominent now too. You began to grow impatient even though he was moving as fast as supernaturally possible. You flipped positions, the sudden urge to be submissive altering to thoughts of you taking control. You suddenly grew dark too, a feeling you weren’t used to. Was this your ‘ripper’ coming out of you? Whatever it was, you liked it- You could tell Stefan enjoyed it too. The look painted over his face spoke for itself; He wanted to be tested and teased because he felt he could win. He seemed to be turned on by you defying him.
You felt yourself craving a taste of his blood. Without hesitation, you leaned down and sunk your teeth into his warm flesh. You sipped from his blood, and it acted a fuel in your body. He flipped you over, pulling you off him in attempt to play around with your role of dominance. He pressed a deep, passionate kiss onto your lips- His blood transferring and spreading across the cracks between both of your lips. You could feel his tongue exploring your mouth before you pulled him off, climbing back on top of him. You ripped off his shirt now, sinking your teeth into a spot on his chest. The groan he made drove you to suck more blood. He allowed you to have full control for one night, you could tell by him allowing you to feed off him without fighting back.
You pulled back, leaving bloody kisses down his happy trail. You unbuckled his pants, quickly ripping them off him and throwing them to the other side of the room. You pulled down his wet underwear; The pre-cum pooled up and left a wet spot. It was a beautiful sight to you. You watched as his cock smacked his stomach before standing straight up. “Mm, looks like someone wanted me.” You teased, wrapping your hand around the base of his cock. You took your tongue and smacked the tip of his cock against it before taking it in your mouth. You covered it in saliva, well, whatever you could fit into your mouth. Whatever you couldn’t, your hand stroked. You bobbed your head up and down slowly at first. Before Stefan took control again, gripping onto your hair and bucking his hips up into your mouth. You could feel yourself choke on his length every time it hit the back of your throat. You closed your mouth tighter around it while he thrusted, causing for it to feel like suction against his cock. His moans escaping his lips. Curse words filled the room as he continued to go until he was about to reach his climax.
At this point, there was no fighting for dominance. You both just craved friction, and you could see that written all over his face. You completely undressed yourself now, throwing your clothes in the same direction you threw Stefan’s. “Ride me.” He groaned, watching as you climbed on top of him. Before sliding his dick inside of you, you rubbed against it with your clit. You moaned out, throwing your head back before sliding it into you. “Fuck, Stefan.” You moaned before feeling him thrust up inside of you hard. You bit down on your lip, arching your back. You leaned down, kissing his lips while he thrusted up into you. You put the same effort back into him, moving your ass up and down every time he thrusted, “You’re so tight.” He moaned.
You could feel his hands gripping against your ass hard. So hard, you were sure his grip marks would be left there, but you didn’t mind. You sat up again, Stefan taking a break t=from thrusting to adjust his position too. He took your boob into his mouth, swirling his tongue around your nipple. He pulled back, taking the other on in his mouth while you rode him. The cold air causing your nipple to harden, also causing you to get goosebumps over your body. You could feel your walls clench around his length. “Stefan” was the only thing you could moan. You kept grinding, knowing he was enjoying the feeling of being inside you. You could feel him wrap his hands around both your hips, using the grip to assist you. He thrusted up again, slamming you down on him as he did so. “Fuck, you’re going to make me cum.” You screamed in pleasure. His length was hitting your g-spot every time he thrusted. Your toes curled and you through your heat back. You could see his face softening, a sign ripper was gone.
You could feel the heat of both bodies. You leaned down again, “Make me cum all over you.” You moaned before feeling him go harder. You thought it wasn’t possible, but he made it possible. “Finish for me” he moaned out, watching you squeal and finally release your juices onto him. He thrusted once more before filling you with his warm cum. You both rode out your high before you climbed off him and plopped on the bed. You both were struggling to catch your breath. “I like when ripper comes out to play.” You laughed. It wasn’t the first time he was out, but tonight felt more like love making. You felt more connected with Stefan. He was really gaining a hold of his ripper side. “Really?” He chuckled, leaning over, and pressing a kiss against your lips. You’d never get tired of his kisses…

The Better Brother (Damon Salvatore x M! Reader)
A small pet peeve of mine regarding Damon Salvatore fics is how people sometimes gloss over the wave of self loathing this man possesses. Since childhood he's had to bear constant comparisons with Stefan—how he wasn't enough, not as kind, etc.—so in my mind, if he does find someone he would absolutely push them away. That gave rise to this fic!
Summary: Damon finally found the one, however, thoughts of self-hatred and the constant comparison to his 'better' brother had him doubting if he even was deserving of such future.
tags: sad, in my feelings, break up, Damon thinking he's underserving, self hatred
Damon leaned against the bar of the Mystic Grill, the amber liquid in his glass catching the dim light. He swirled the bourbon absently, his mind not on the drink but on the man standing at the dartboard, a soft laugh escaping his lips as he teased Stefan for his missed throw.
M/N had come into Damon’s life like a hurricane—wild, passionate, and with a kindness that made him feel human for the first time in decades. He wasn’t supposed to fall this hard. But now that he had, every insecurity Damon carried weighed heavier on him.
He drained the glass and set it down with a little too much force, drawing a glance from M/N. Damon met his eyes and forced a smirk, but it didn’t quite reach his own. M/N tilted his head, his expression softening with concern, and made his way back over. “What’s got you brooding over here?” he teased, bumping Damon’s shoulder as he slid onto the stool beside him.
Damon shrugged, reaching for the bottle to pour himself another. “Just thinking about how life is unfairly cruel to us handsome, brooding types.”
M/N didn’t laugh. He didn’t fall for Damon’s deflections anymore.
“You’ve been distant all week,” he noted, his voice quieter now. “What’s really going on?”
Damon’s grip on the glass tightened. He hated how easily M/N saw through him, hated how good he was for him. And most of all, he hated himself for ruining what they had before it could even bloom. But Damon knew how this story ended. It was always the same. Stefan was the hero, the savior, the one who got the happy ending. Damon was the shadow lurking behind, destined to lose.
“You should go back to your darts game,” Damon said, his voice cold now, deliberately so. “I’m fine.”
M/N stared at him for a long moment, then sighed. “I know you don’t believe this, but you don’t have to push me away every time you get scared, Damon.”
Scared.
The word stung because it was true.
Later that night, Damon found himself alone in the Salvatore boarding house. The fire crackled in the hearth, casting long shadows across the room, but its warmth didn’t reach him. He sat on the edge of the couch, elbows resting on his knees, a photograph clutched in his hand.
In the photo, they were both smiling—genuine, unguarded. Damon hardly recognized himself in that moment, caught off guard by M/N’s infectious energy. The picture had been taken at the Mystic Falls Winter Festival, a day Damon had reluctantly agreed to attend. M/N had dragged him to the Ferris wheel, teasing him about being afraid of heights.
Damon hadn’t been afraid—not of the heights, at least. But the way M/N had looked at him at the top, with so much trust and warmth, had sent a different kind of fear coursing through him. For a brief moment, suspended in the sky with M/N’s laughter ringing in his ears, it felt like the world wasn’t so bleak.
He clenched his jaw and stared at the photograph for a long time, his fingers trembling slightly. “You don’t deserve this,” he muttered to himself. “You don’t deserve him.”
With a sharp breath, he shoved the picture into the drawer of the side table and slammed it shut. This was the right thing to do. Even if it hurt. Even if it tore him apart.
The next day, Stefan found Damon in the parlor. The sunlight streaming through the windows only emphasized how wrecked the oldest Salvatore looked. He was slouched in the armchair, a near-empty bottle of bourbon in front of him, his eyes distant and unfocused, as if he had been staring into nothingness for hours.
“What did you do?” Stefan’s voice cut through the oppressive silence of the room, sharp and demanding.
Damon let out a low chuckle, the sound bitter and hollow. “Relax, Saint Stefan,” he drawled, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “I did you a favor.”
Stefan’s brows furrowed as he stepped closer, his tone tightening with frustration. “What the hell does that mean?”
Damon finally lifted his gaze, his trademark smirk flickering onto his face. “He’s all yours now,” he said, the words carrying a mix of resignation and self-loathing.
He didn’t need to ask to know what Damon meant. “You broke up with him,” Stefan said, his tone flat, more a statement than a question.
Damon shrugged, his nonchalance forced and brittle. “Better for everyone that way,” he muttered, grabbing the bottle and taking another swig.
Stefan wasn’t having it. He crossed the room in two strides and snatched the bottle from Damon’s hand, setting it firmly on the table out of reach. “Better for everyone or better for you?” he snapped, his voice cutting through Damon’s feigned indifference.
Damon’s smirk flickered. He slouched further into the chair, rubbing a hand over his face. “Don’t get all noble on me, brother. This is what you wanted, isn’t it? A clean slate? No more complications? No more me standing in the way?”
Stefan stared at him, incredulous. “You really think I wanted this? That I wanted you to destroy the best thing that’s ever happened to you?”
“Spare me the lecture, Stefan,” Damon said, his tone sharp, though it lacked its usual bite. “He’ll be fine. Hell, he’ll probably thank me someday.”
Stefan shook his head, his frustration mounting. “You don’t get it, do you? M/N doesn’t want me. He never has. He chose you, Damon. And instead of fighting for him, you pushed him away because you’re too much of a coward to believe you deserve him.”
Damon’s jaw tightened, his hands curling into fists on the armrests of the chair. “Coward? Is that what you think I am?”
“Yes,” Stefan shot back without hesitation. “You’re so scared of being happy, of someone actually loving you for who you are, that you’d rather sabotage it before they can leave you. You think that’s noble? It’s not. It’s pathetic.”
Damon stood abruptly, his chair scraping against the floor as he loomed over Stefan. “Don’t you dare lecture me about love, Stefan. You’ve been handed every happy ending on a silver platter while I’ve had to fight for scraps.”
“And this time, you didn’t even fight,” Stefan countered, his voice soft but firm. “You just gave up. And you hurt him in the process.”
Damon’s shoulders slumped, the fight draining out of him as quickly as it had come. He turned away, staring into the dying embers of the fireplace. “You don’t understand,” he muttered, his voice barely audible. “He deserves better. Better than me.”
“Maybe that’s not your choice to make, Damon. Maybe he already decided that you’re what he wants. And maybe…just maybe, you should let yourself believe it.”
Damon didn’t respond. He couldn’t. The words sat heavy in his chest, pressing against the fragile walls he’d built around his heart. He clenched his jaw, his eyes burning as he stared into the fire, willing the tears to stay where they were. Stefan sighed, his frustration softening into something closer to pity. “You’re going to regret this,” he said quietly. “And when you do, I just hope it’s not too late.”
He turned and left the room, leaving Damon alone once again.
The silence that followed was deafening, broken only by the faint crackle of the fire. Damon sank back into his chair, staring at the empty spot on the table where the bourbon bottle had been.
Deep down, he knew Stefan was right.
But knowing didn’t make it hurt any less.
And that was the curse of being Damon Salvatore.

Let go
Y/n loves Damon, but he loves Elena.
Word count: 268
Damon Salvatore.
Those two words had been haunting your mind for the past two years. Ever since you first met Damon at Mystic Falls High School you, or rather your subconscious decided that you were madly in love with the older vampire. Of course at that time you didn't know what he or Stefan were, that came later when your best friend Elena decided it was time you knew the truth. You were obviously shocked but you were so head over heels for Damon that you barely even cared.
Damon Salvatore.
He was all that you cared about, being an orphan, you had learned to look after yourself, never quite trusting anyone because you were so frightened that they would leave you like your family did. You had your friends of course. The whole group had been so kind and welcoming to you when you first moved to Mystic Falls but you still couldn't help feel like you were the outsider. Everyone else seemed to have there own person. Like, Elena had Stefan, Bonnie had Caroline and Matt had Tyler, but Damon, Damon was different. He liked being on his own.
Damon Salvatore.
That was the name you were writing over and over again in your notebooks. But it was all just a fantasy. You saw how he looked at Elena even if she was with Stefan. You saw how he hugged her. How he smiled at her. How he spoke to her. He was always so dry with you, like he didn't want to be there.
Damon Salvatore.
Just another man that would have to let go.

Happy Birthday
Word Count: 10811
Pairing: Klaus Mikaelson x Reader
Please Help me, First Turn, How About a Dance, Second Turn and Strained Bonds, A Choice is Made, Decade Dance, A Kidnapping, A Death in the Family, It Should Have Been You
Summary: It’s your birthday and all of your friends, aside from Matt, seem to have forgotten it. But that’s ok because a particularly charming hybrid just so happens to come to your rescue once again.
“Hey, (Y/N), where are the others?” Matt asked the confusion clear in his voice when he saw that you were sitting alone in a booth at the grill doing homework instead of being with Caroline and the others like he’d expected you to be. Especially knowing what to day was. Looking away from your homework you looked up at Matt shrugging.
“Well Bonnie’s still dealing with her mother and all the stuff that comes with that, and hell if I know where Elena and Caroline are but if I had to guess their most likely working on their latest plan against the Mikaelson.” You commented your tone nonchalant despite the bitterness that you were feeling. A feeling that, mind you, annoyed you to no end because you didn’t actually see a reason to be feeling bitter so what if today was your birthday? It was just another day, it wasn’t anything important especially not when compared to everything else that’s been going on lately. So it shouldn’t matter that they forgot your birthday because they had a valid reason for forgetting your birthday and really you just needed to get over yourself. However no matter how hard you tried to ignore that bitterness feeling, no matter how hard you tried to shove it back, that bitterness just kept coming back. A sympathetic look flashed across Matt’s face as he moved to sit across from you, and you hurried to grab your binder that was laying open in front of him.
“Yeah they’ve been a little obsessed with that stuff lately haven’t they?” He asked and you scuffed.
“Obsessed is one way of putting it, yeah, I prefer the term completely consumed by their desire to kill the Mikaelson.” You told him and he chuckled as he sat back in his seat.
“You’re not wrong, do you think they’ll ever include us in their planning?” You barked out a humorless laugh at that as you shook your head no. There was no way that they were ever going to actively include either of you in their plans. After all they thought the both of you were still human and being humans made the two of you weak, easily breakable. Never mind the fact that you had been training with Alaric well before Elena started, and the fact that Matt was a hell of a shot with a rifle and a heck of a football player. Meaning that the two of you could easily, and have, held your own against the supernatural entities that continuously come trapezing through this town.
“Ah no. We’re human Matt, that means we’re weak compared to the others so they have no use for us. We only know about the white oak stakes because they know Klaus has this weird obsession with me, and Rebekah’s seemingly got the hots for you and they plan on using that knowledge to their advantage. That’s the only reason we’re included in that, and Elena’s only included because everything has to be about her.” You explained to him your tone probably a little more bitter than you had meant for it to be when you got to the end of your little rant. Again that sympathetic look flashed across Matt’s face as he nodded his head, seemingly understanding the hidden meaning behind your little rant much to your continued annoyance.
“Yeah… You know if it’s any consolation (Y/N) I highly doubt that they forgot your birthday on purpose, you know Caroline never passed up an opportunity to throw a party. She practically lives to control and organize those things.” He said and you gave him a weak smile.
“No I know, and I’m not trying to say that they did it’s just… I don’t know, I think I’m just tired of all this and I was just… I was just kind of hoping that they would remember just to show that we can have like I don’t know a normalish day for once? One where they’re not focusing on killing the Mikaelsons. Or you know where they could show that they still acknowledged our presence, our measly, weak presence.” You told him hoping your tone would help to convey how tired you were with the situation but at the same time that you didn’t actually think of you and Matt as being the weak ones in the group despite your supposed status.
“I think you’ve been spending too much time with Damon,” He commented as he pulled out his phone and you scuffed. “Hey look, I’ve got to go clock in but before I do I wanted to give you this, I know how much you’ve been wanting one of these.” He continued on as he set his phone down before pulling out a neatly wrapped rectangular package, taking it from him you were mildly surprised by the weight of it.
“Thanks Matt, but you really didn’t have to.” You gave him a small smile as you set it down in front of you, deciding you would open it later when you’d actually have somewhere to throw the wrapping paper.
“I know but I wanted to, besides after all the shit that Damon and Stefan put you through recently and all that weird stuff with Klaus you deserve to be given something nice.” You couldn’t stop the dopey looking smile from spreading across your face as you watched Matt stand up, hugging your hands to your chest before quickly following suit.
“Aw Mattie! You’re the best friend a girl could ask for!” Your tone was only slightly teasing as you hugged him and he rolled his eyes in that annoyed older brother way as he hugged you back.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever, I’ll see you later ok?”
“Definitely.” You confirmed as he started walking away and you stood there watching him for a few seconds.
“Well wasn’t that just touching.” You swallowed your screech of terror as you nearly jumped out of your skin in your attempt to turn around and face Klaus who was now sitting were Matt had just been. He looked beyond annoyed as he stared passed you at where Matt had gone and you gave him a confused look as you slid into the booth across from him.
“Nik! You can’t do that! You almost gave me a damn heart attack!” You whisper shouted at him and he looked towards you with an unapologetic smile spreading across his face as he leaned forward in his seat resting his forearms on the table.
“Has anyone ever told you how absolutely breathtaking you look when you’re angry?” Klaus asked his gaze traveling along your face taking in the furrow of your brow and the pout off your lips and the tint of red in your cheeks as a blush started to form at his compliment. A fact that only made the smile on his face grow that much more, his undead heart beating just the tiniest bit faster at the sight of it.
“No- look that’s not important right now you’re going to get us into trouble if anyone sees you here with me.” You whispered to him, suddenly afraid that Damon or Stefan or (god forbid it) Caroline would walk in here at any second and then what was otherwise a pretty good day would be ruined.
“Ah yes that’s right you’re supposed to be trying to kill me as a part of your friends little plan to rid themselves of me and my family once and for all, tell me how is that going?” His tone was teasing but you could hear the slight sting of the venom behind them and you tilted your head to the side. What the hell had gotten into him today? Rebekah hadn’t texted you to tell you that Klaus was in a fowl mood and that you should avoid him (advice you tended to annoy because he always seemed fine when he was around you,) nor had Kol text you to tell you that he’d pulled a fantastic prank on Klaus, and Elijah hadn’t messaged anything either complaining about his siblings antics or something one of your friends did. And as far as you knew they were a little too busy worrying about Alaric and planning to kill the Mikaelson to actually do anything against the Mikaelson. So what the hell had gotten into him?
“That’s not funny Nik, you know I would have burned that damn stake if you hadn’t been so fucking insistent that I keep it.” You grumbled out, if was gonna act snippy with you then you were going to give it right back especially since you hadn’t done anything to warrant such an attitude. Your response seemed to have softened whatever the hell it was that was eating at him because in the next instant the cocky look on his face turned into something softer than before and his shoulders relaxed, the cockiness all but gone now and was replaced with something you couldn’t quite identify.
“I know love, but you also know why I can’t let you do that after all you were the one who set up the terms and to keep those terms you have to keep the stake until we come up with a counter plan.” The venomous sting was gone from his voice and all that was left was a hint of something else and a factual tone on top of that. You rolled your eyes as you crossed your arms over your chest and fell back in your seat, though you were glad that whatever was eating at him had disappeared. You like Klaus, and you greatly enjoyed being around him but now was not the time nor the place to help him through whatever it was that had been bothering him.
“Not true, I could just say that I lost it, or that you found it one me and took it from me and are now planning some evil revenge, or that Rebekah found it and she took it and I’m only alive because you wanted to kill me yourself but not before you stopped my friends, or something like that.” You listed off the excuse you had been thinking up throughout the week trying to come up with one that would be believable enough to get past Damon and Stefan without having your heartbeat give you away. A look of concern flashed across Klaus' face as he sat up a little straighter, his body tensing as he gave you a serious look.
“I would never hurt you.” His tone was just as serious as his look, but you could see the fear and the uncertainty shining in his eyes at the idea that you might actually think him capable of actually intentionally hurting you in any way shape or form. You gave him an apologetic smile when you caught sight of his stare.
“I know Nik, I was just say-”
“Is everything alright here?” Matt asked as he came to stand beside the table positioning himself in a way that his back was slightly to Klaus even as he directed a glare at him before giving you a concerned look. You blinked a couple of times adjusting to the sudden change in atmosphere at Matts arrival before giving him a reassuring smile.
“Everything’s fine Matt, thanks, but I was just about to leave.” You stated as you started grabbing your things pointedly ignoring Klaus and the look of mock insult that he was giving you.
“Come now love don’t be like that I thought we were having a wonderful time.” Klaus commented as he leaned back in his seat, his arms coming to rest on the back of the booth, his eyes darting down to the present you were now holding in your hand as you stood up from the booth. You watched as confusion flashed in his eyes before being replaced by that cocky flirtatious attitude he’d come to adopt whenever your friends were around.
“Well then you must have me mistaken with another girl because I don’t recall us ever having a good time.” You stated as you gave him an annoyed look over your shoulder as you kept your body facing Matt who was doing his best to stand in between you and Klaus.
“Now, love, we both know that’s not true.” Klaus stated and you rolled your eyes at him looking away from him as you did so.
“Goodbye Klaus.” You put as much annoyance and doneness into your voice as possible as you followed Matt out of the grill, putting a little more sway in your hips than was probably necessary. A blush darkened your cheeks when you realized what it was that you were doing and you quickly stopped fighting back your blush as you walked out into the sunlight and turned back to face Matt.
“Thank you again for the present Matt, I’ll see you later ok?”
“Yeah, I’ll see you later,” He said and you nodded as you turned and started to walk away. “Hey! Call me if Elena and them suddenly decide to throw a party! I’ll drop by after work!” He shouted after you and you gave him a thumbs up over your shoulder as you continued walking towards your car. You had gotten about five feet from your car, you were within spitting distance of it when you felt a set of arms wrap around your waist a familiar scent filling your nose as before you could do anything the world around you blurred. You blinked a couple of times as you and Klaus came to a stop swaying slightly as your equal Librium readjusted from the sudden changes in speed and places.
“You vampires and your grabbing of people at random and then speeding off with them, you’re so lucky that I have a strong stomach or else you would be wearing my lunch Nik.” You commented as you turned around to face him, his arms falling from your waist. Your brow furrowed in confusion when you saw the annoyed and angry look on his face and you took a step back as he took a step forward.
“Why did the jock give you a present?” He all but growled out as he continued to back you up and you hadn’t realized how close you’d gotten to the other side of the alley that he had sped the two of you into until you felt your back hit the brick wall behind you.
“I’m sorry what?” That was not the reaction you had been expecting from him. You’d expected some comment or smartass remark that would most definitely make you blush or even a comment about how you had walked out of the Grill or something like that but no instead he’d asked you about Matt? Why the hell was he asking about Matt? What did Matt have to do with anything, and oh gods you were starting to sound like Damon. Great just what you wanted.
“Why did that jock give you a present?” He asked again, his hands coming to rest up on either side of your head caging you like he was afraid that you were going to run. Not like you were ever going to do that.
Tilting your head to the side you met Klaus gaze not backing down when you saw the annoyance and frustration shining in them at not knowing what was going on between you and Matt. But behind that annoyance and frustration there was something else shining in his eyes, something that you had only ever seen in Damon’s eyes when he was watching Stefan and Elena get all lovey dovey in front of him. Jealousy. There was jealousy shining behind his frustration and annoyance and you couldn’t believe it.
“Answer me love, why is the jock giving you presents when-” Klaus cut himself off but it wasn’t soon enough to hide the possessive tone to his voice or the look that flashed across his face as he steeled his face trying quickly to hide the emotions that were showing up on his face. You stood there for a moment just staring at him as his unspoken words hung in the air between the two of you and you watched as his walls started going back up and nervousness appeared in his eyes along with everything else.
“Because… because it’s my birthday.” You mumbled to him not knowing what else to say and a look of surprise crossed Klaus' face as he dropped his hands from where they rested next to your head and took a step back from you blinking a couple of times.
“It’s your birthday?” He asked and you nodded.
“Yes Nik, I know this may be a relatively new concept to an old man like you but nowadays us youngins celebrate the days on which people are born otherwise known as birthdays.” It was the first thing that came to mind and he stood there for a few seconds processing what you had just said to him before an unimpressed look spread across his face. A smile spread across your face in response to his unimpressed look, the shock and whatever else from earlier seemingly having disappeared at your smartass remark.
“Funny, truly you are a comedic visionary love,” His tone was monotone as he continued to look at him and you giggled unable to stop yourself and he shook his head a small smile threatening to appear on his face as he looked at you. “Why didn’t you tell me that it was your birthday?” He added on.
“Well 1, you didn’t ask and 2, I don’t like to make a big deal out of my birthday and shit so I don’t usually go around shouting that it’s my birthday.” You told him and he nodded absentmindedly as he took another step back from you his brow furrowed in concentration. You raised an eyebrow at him trying to read his face to see what he was thinking but you couldn’t, his face was a thoughtful mask as he began pacing in front of you.
“Penny for your thoughts?” You asked him when he didn’t say anything after a few minutes and he stopped pacing, turning to face you fully and walking back up to you coming to a stop a few feet from you.
“What are you doing tonight?” He blurted out and for the second time that night you blinked in confusion trying to understand what was going on right now.
“I… what? Why do you want to know?” You couldn’t help the suspicion that laced your words as you squinted at him. There was a very, very, very, high chance that you were going to agree to whatever it was that Klaus wanted to do but that didn’t mean you were just going to agree without getting some form of information.
“Because I need to know, now love what are you doing tonight?” He pressed again getting back in your face and pressing you further back against the wall, his hands coming to rest besides your upper arms this time. Your eyes darted down to his lips against your will and then snapped back up to his eyes but not before you saw his lips curl up in a smirk.
“Nothing, unless Caroline and the others suddenly remember that it’s my birthday. Why do you want to know?” You asked him and he pushed himself off the wall stepping back from you and you stood up a little straighter moving away from the wall slightly.
“Good, I’ll pick you up at 8 then.” He stated and your brow furrowed in confusion.
“Wait, what? Why? Nik what the hell are you planning?” You questioned him taking a step towards you as you did. His smirk turned into a smile as he reached up his hand coming to cup your chin as he looked deep into your eyes.
“It wouldn’t be a birthday surprise if I told you what it was now would it?” He asked you and you felt yourself blush as you nodded not really knowing what else to do.
“Exactly, I’ll see you at 8 and wear something nice.” He added on and before you could say or do something else he was gone leaving behind nothing but a slight breeze.
[7:50p.m.]
“Ok, what about this one mom?” You asked her as you came to a stop at the bottom of the stairs spinning around slowly so she could see the whole outfit. This was your fourth outfit of the evening and you couldn’t remember a time in which you had this much difficulty actually picking out an outfit. Usually you could pick out an outfit no problem you already knew the type of pants you wanted and the general idea of the shirt all before you looked through your clothes, but oh no. No with this you’d spent a solid six minutes starring at your clothes desperately hoping the best outfit for tonight would just jump out at you before you’d shouted for help from your mother. It also wasn’t like you hadn’t been out with other guys before either, you’d gone out with at least a couple of other guys before but you’d never had this much trouble finding an outfit to wear around them. There was just something about the fact that this was going to be Klaus, that it was going to be him, that made you want to impress him, made you want to look better than you normally did or at least more girly than you normally did. Not that you thought there was anything wrong with your normal look, you were quite comfortable with it, it was just this time you wanted to go the extra mile. So here you were standing at the bottom of the stairs wearing a dark blue pair of jeans that hugged your legs perfectly with a white blouse hoping that this outfit would be the one and that you wouldn’t have to back upstairs because as much as you wanted to look good you wanted this to be over faster. That and Klaus was going to be here any minute to pick you up so you really couldn’t afford another outfit change.
“It’s perfect dear, you’re gonna look amazing for your date with Klaus now come here and let me braid your hair.” Your mother stated as she gestured to the coffee table. You rolled your eyes as you walked over to her, sitting down on the coffee table.
“I told you before mom this isn’t a date, this just Nik being… kind and considerate friend in his own weird way.” You responded, wincing slightly when she dragged the brush a little harsher than needed through a knot in your hair.
“Well it’s very considerate of him to ask you to wear something nice and to be coming by to pick you up at 8 a time usually reserved for dates but your’re right I’m sure he’s just being a good friend. After all what do I know? It’s not like I’m your mother, who’s had far more experience in this field, or anything like that.” She commented and you couldn’t help the giggle that escaped you at her sassy comment. If you were being honest with yourself you wanted nothing more than to be able to call this evening a date but you were afraid that if you did that you would end up finding that you had misinterpreted things that this was actually just him being a good friend and not a date.
“I know mom, but trust me I know Nik, and this is just a dinner with a friend nothing more nothing less.” You told her hoping your voice sounded less disappointed than you actually felt at the moment, your heat clenching painfully at having said that out loud.
“Ok, if you’re sure.” Her voice was slightly high and you didn’t have to be facing her to know that she was giving you a disbelieving look. The two of you sat in silence for a moment as she finished your hair, patting your shoulder when you were done you stood up from the table. Worrying your bottom lip you stared at the clock as you fiddled with the hem of your shirt and glanced towards the clock to see that it was now 7:56 and that he would be here any minute.
Looking down at your outfit again you smoothed your hands over the shirt, biting down on your bottom lip as you did. What if he ended up not liking your outfit? Or what if this was too casual to wear to whatever restaurant he was taking you too? What if he wasn’t taking you to a restaurant at all? What if he was taking you somewhere completely different? Had you worn the right outfit for this? Were you wearing the right shoes? Your mother seemed to think that you were, she though the black ankle boots that you were wearing tied in nicely with the outfit but now that you were looking at them you didn’t think they did. Maybe you should go upstairs and change the shoes, or how about the whole outfit? Yeah the whole outfit sounded like a plan because what if he ended up taking you to a fancy nightclub or something? Then if you walked in wearing this you were going to stick out like a sore thumb but then again the only fancy piece of clothing you had was the dress that he had given you for the ball and well you were going to stick out anywhere wearing that so that one was out of the question. Oh gods this was a mistake. You should have told him no, you didn’t have anything to wear tonight and you desperately needed to go change this wasn’t the right outfit your mother was wrong, you were wrong, everything was wrong about this.
“I need to go change.” You muttered allowed as you started towards the stairs your eyes wide and dazed as your thoughts raced through your head and your heart beat rapidly in your chest.
“What? Why? What’s wrong with that outfit? You look beautiful in that one (Y/N).” Your mother went to stop you but you easily dodged her as you made it too the stairs.
“No, this outfit is all wrong, it’s just all wrong nothing about this outfit is right, I need to change it find something better something more practical.” You told her and you’d gotten one foot on the stairs and your mother had just opened her mouth to argue against you when there was a knock on the front door. You froze your body tensing in fear even as your heart started beating in excitement. Spinning around to face the door you stared at it for a moment before looking to your mother who was watching you expectantly and then back to the door as the person on the other side knocked again.
“Well are you going to open the door or shall I?” Your mother asked and your eyes widened significantly with fear as you rushed the short distance from the stairs to the doo.
“No! I’ll get it! You just stay right there!” You shouted as you grabbed a hold of the door handle. Pausing you took a deep breath and held it for a moment before letting it out and opening the door a large smile spreading across your face.
“He- who the hell are you?” You questioned, the smile falling from your face as you took in the man who was very clearly not Klaus.
“My apologies ma’am but I was sent on Mr. Mikaelson’s behalf to inform you that something has come up that requires his immediate attention and that he will be running a bit late and he does apologize for that.” The man stated and your shoulders sagged slightly as you looked at him.
“Oh… ok, well… um, tell him thank you for the message and that I’ll see him tomorrow I guess.” You muttered out unable to stop the disappointment from leaking into your tone as you went to close the door, not wanting to keep the man away from whatever he was supposed to be doing instead of being compelled by Klaus. Just as you were about to close it though the man was pushing it back open which caused you to look at the man in confusion.
“Apologies ma’am, but I wasn’t finished. Mr. Mikaelson also sent me on his behalf to gift you with this and to inform you that I will be accompanying you to the restaurant he has picked out in the next town over until he arrives.” The man added on as he held out a rectangular black box.
“Ooookkkkaaay.” You carefully took the box from the man your brows furrowing even more if that was possible as you opened the box curious as to what it was that Klaus got you for your birthday. A small gasp escaped you when you saw what was inside the box. There siting on top of a plush little pillow as a silver charm bracelet with seven charms attached to it. The charm in the middle was an ornate openable silver ball that smelled faintly of vervain and upon closer inspection did actually have vervain in it. A fact that brought a smile to your face, you were certainly going to be covered on the vervain front should you forget to take it or someone drained it from your system. To the right of the ornate silver ball sat what looked like a little wooden stake, a set of vampire fangs, and a little human heart. To the left of the ornate silver ball was a crescent moon charm, a silhouette of a howling wolf and a little cursive ‘K.’
“It’s beautiful.” You breathed out as you lifted it up from the box. Handing the box to the man you waited until he took and you maneuvered the bracelet around until you were able to clip it around your wrist and then you just stood there for a moment admiring the bracelet once more before looking back up at the man.
“If the lady is all set I can take you to the restaurant now.” The man offered. Sucking your bottom lip into your mouth you worried it as you looked from the man to your mother who was giving you a concerned look and you would be lying if you said you weren’t a little concerned about the situation at hand yourself. But the more you thought about going with this man the more you came to realize that Klaus had been the one to compel this man, and if Klaus was the one that compelled him then there was absolutely no chance that he would think about hurting your let alone doing anything other than what Klaus had said. Letting go of your bottom lip you gave your mother a reassuring smile.
“Are you sure that this is a good idea?” Your mother asked you when she saw your smile and you nodded your head confidence filling you as you stood up a little straighter.
“It’ll be fine mom, you’re not going to hurt me right?” You asked the man as you looked back to him and he nodded his head.
“I’ve been given strict orders to ensure your safety for the evening miss even if that means sacrificing my life to save yours.” He stated and you winced internally.
“Well hopefully tonight doesn’t come to that, but as you can plainly see mom I’ll be in good hands so you won’t have to worry about me too much. Besides I trust Nik, he wouldn’t send someone here to hurt me I promise you.” You told her and your mother looked between you and the man in the doorway before sighing and walking up to you pulling you into a quick hug before you could stop her.
“Be careful, have fun, and call me if you need anything and I mean anything got that?” She asked you as she pulled away from her hands coming to rest on your shoulders and you nodded grinning up at her and giving her a mock salute. She nodded back before letting go of your shoulders and allowing you to turn around to face the man, the grin on your face turning nervous as you did.
“Alright, lets go then shall we?” You asked him and he stepped to the side motioning for you to lead the way. Nodding your head you cast one look back at your mother trying to make your smile seem reassuring before you looked ahead and began walking to the man’s car. He fell into step besides you, opening the door for you and helping you climb in. You looked back towards your house as he started to drive away waving slightly to your mother who’d come to stand on the porch and watch the two of you leave. After what had to have been the single most awkward car ride of your entire existence you found yourself sitting across from the compelled man in the fanciest restaurant you’d ever been in silently waiting for Klaus to show up.
You’re leg bounced out of habit as you looked away from the compelled man who had just been starring at you with a dazed expression on his face and towards the door hoping to see Klaus walking through the door. Sighing you looked away from the door when you didn’t see Klaus standing there and back to the man. You were starting to worry about him, it had been at least fifteen minutes since you’d arrived at the restaurant and still there was no sign of Klaus any where and you were seriously beginning to doubt that he was going to show up. That whatever had been so important had completely taken up his time for the evening and he wouldn’t be coming. Pulling out your phone you checked to see if you’d had any missed calls or texts but there was nothing, not even anything from your friends which at this point didn’t surprise you in the slightest. Sighing again you leaned back in your chair and just stared at the guy, you’d tried to make conversation with him earlier, but he’d ignored your every attempt to get him to talk to you leaving you to sit here in a continued awkward silence until Klaus showed up or you got tired of waiting and decided to go home.
“I see you got my message.” The sound of Klaus’ voice had you jumping from your seat, spinning around to face him as a large smile spread across your face relief at finally having Klaus here rushing through you.
“Nik! You made it!” You exclaimed as you all but launched yourself at him pulling him into a hug before he could think to react to you. He tensed in your embrace his body going stiff as he stared down at you not knowing how to act for a few seconds before you felt his body relax and he wrapped his arms around you in turn.
“Of course I made it love, I told you I was going be a little late did I not?” He asked as he looked pointedly to the man who had moved to stand up upon Klaus arrival. Without breaking your hug you looked back at the and then up to Klaus who was giving you a small smile one that you happily returned.
“Well yes I know I just thought that maybe whatever was holding you up had decided it was going to take the whole evening instead of just a few minutes.” You told him your look turning sheepish even as his turned reassuring. Reaching up he gently brushed the backs of his fingers over the side of your face as he pushed a strand of hair that had come loose from the braid behind your ear.
“There is nothing in this world that would have stopped me from being here tonight.” He told you and the amount of honesty in his voice coupled with the look in his eyes caused your breath to catch in your throat and for a blush to spread across your cheeks. You stared up into his eyes not knowing how to respond to that but luckily you were saved from having to by the man clearing his throat.
“As touching as this is, can I go home now? I did everything that you asked of me I brought the girl here, gave her that bracelet, and now I just want to go home.” The man stated breaking the moment between you and Klaus. Clearing his throat Klaus let go of you as he stepped around you and towards the man who shifted nervously as Klaus approached him.
“Yes you can go now,” He started as he stopped in front of the man and reached up grabbing ahold of the man’s shoulders before he could leave and a look of fear flashed across the mans face as he met Klaus’ gaze. “Go home and forget everything that happened after you met me and if anyone asks you where you were or what you were doing you’ll tell them that you were working late at the office and not to worry about it.”
“I’ll go home and forget about what happened and if anyone asks I was working late.” The man repeated back his words sounding dazed and confused as he stared into Klaus’ eyes his own glazing over.
“Good, now go.” Klaus ordered as he let go of the man’s shoulders and the man walked away that dazed expression still on his face as he did so. Turning back to you Klaus smiled at you as he gestured to the table and you took the silent que to sit down a smile still on your face as Klaus sat across from you.
“Have you ordered anything yet?” He asked you after the two of you got situated and you shook your head.
“No I was waiting for you to arrive before I ordered anything, I didn’t want to finish and then have to sit here awkwardly watching you eat like a fucking weirdo.” You muttered as you picked up your menu and started reading over it as Klaus made a noise of agreement. A weird silence fell over the two of you and you were tying desperately to think up something to talk with him about, something that wasn’t related to whatever thing had kept him away because you were willing to bet it had something to do with your friends. And if it had something to do with your friends you didn’t want to know about it, you didn’t want to give them the chance to try and use you to actually get information. No matter how hard you tried to think up another topic to talk about your mind kept drifting back to his plan. Your thoughts were broken by the waiter coming over and asking the two of you what you wanted to drink to start off with.
“So… if you don’t mind me asking what was… what was it that you were working on?” You asked him only slightly hesitant about asking this question already knowing what the first thing it was going to be that he brought up. And judging by the amused eyebrow raise that you got in return you could tell he’d thought of exactly the comeback you were expecting.
“I thought, love, that you didn’t want to be apart of my plans because specifically you did not want to be used as a spy? In fact I seem to remember that, that is one of the specific reasons as to why I let you live that night.” His tone while sounding extremely like you had just proved him right about something was also light and teasing as he leaned against the table looking at you with amusement shinning in his eyes. You couldn’t help the small smirk that twitched up the corner of your lips as you leaned forward as well, setting your elbow on the table as you held your hand in the air.
You held up one finger as you began to speak; “One, I still don’t want to be used as a spy for either you or for my friends I am however extremely curious as to what it was you were doing,” holding up another finger you continued to look him in the eye watching as his amusement with you grew. “Two, we both know that me not wanting to be a spy was not the only reason that you let me live as your siblings have made abundantly clear with their many reminiscent tales of how you never let anyone live before,” At that Klaus outwardly chuckled falling back in his seat as he smiled at you and you smiled back even as you held up a third finger. “And thirdly, please tell me what it was that you were working on I’m dying of curiosity.” You finished off and this time Klaus actually laughed. Like actually laughed with joy and humor and everything. The sound sending butterflies to your stomach as you decided right then and there that you needed to hear it again because it was the most wonderful thing in the world especially if it made his eyes shine with a happiness that you had never seen in them before.
“Alright, alright, if you must know love, we were actually working on two plans not just one and one of those plans have already been completed and the other is being enacted as we speak.” He told you that smile never leaving his face as he looked at you and you couldn’t help but continue to grin back even as the topic was most likely going to take a dark turn knowing Klaus and his plans.
“Oh? Two? That’s a little ambitious for one night don’t you think?” You asked him and he chuckled an almost ashamed or embarrassed look crossing his face as his gaze dropped away from you for a moment before looking back at you.
“Well no one ever got anything done by being lazy now did they love? Besides originally we weren’t supposed to enact two plans in one evening but an opportunity presented itself and we decided to take it while we could.” He explained and you tilted your head to the side, your brow furrowing slightly.
“And what opportunity exactly would that be?” You were only slightly worried about what his response was going to be, the last thing you wanted to go home to after this evening was to find out that his family had killed one of your friends. He opened his mouth to answer but quickly closed it when the waiter walked up to the two of you carrying Klaus’ bottle of wine and your drink.
“Simple, we saw an opportunity to force your friends to give us the white oak stakes so we took it.” He told you when the waiter walked away after having taken your meal orders. At that your head straightened and your furrow deepened as you looked at him in utter confusion.
“And just how did you come across this opportunity? More importantly how the hell do you plan on forcing them to give you the white oak stakes? Damon would rather die than give them to you.” You countered and what could only be described as a shit eating grin spread across Klaus face as he sat back in his chair that cocky attitude from earlier today coming back as he looked at you.
“Funny that you mention him because he is exactly how we plan on getting the white oak stakes back.” He stated his voice full of a cocky sort of confidence as he reached out and picked up his wine glass again.
“I-wh-I-I-Wh...what? How? Explain.” You sputtered out and he chuckled a little as he set his glass down again and continued to recline in his chair.
“Our plan started out simple enough, we wanted to use that Bennett witch of yours to break the body binding spell that our mother cast on us but in order to do that we needed to find her a little motivation, don’t worry love we didn’t harm the witch,” He told you when he saw the look of concern flash across your face and the cockiness he was exuding eased up just a little as he gave you a small reassuring smile. “So in order to give her a little motivation we knew that we needed to get to one of her friends but Elena is too important to any of them for us to use her, Caroline would just cause more problems than be useful, and Stefan well Stefan is a major pain in the ass which left us with Damon and since Rebekah stated he’d caused some slight against her we figured he was a good enough candidate.”
“Wait, so you used Damon to convince Bonnie of all people to break the spell your mother put on you?” You asked him and he nodded and your eyes widened considerably at that as you sat back in your own seat stunned. “Wow… I couldn’t have predicted her doing that in a million years, especially not with what Damon did to her mother.”
“Fear for her other friends reactions was a very powerful motivator in that scenario.” He stated and you nodded already having pieced together the rest of his plan from that alone.
“Ok, so, before you say anything let me see if I got this right. Since you already have Damon you plan on, my guess is torturing him until Stefan and or Elena and or any one of them brings you the rest of the white oak stakes and if they don’t then you’re going to kill him?”
“That would be correct, love.” He stated and you beamed with pride as you looked at him sitting up a little straighter at having been able to decipher what his plan was. Granted it was an easy plan to figure out and he was an even easier man for you to read but that was besides the point, the point was that you’d figured it out. Back when you were actively working against him and saw him as the bad guy you had enjoyed priding yourself on the fact that you were able to figure out if not Klaus exact plan then a potential plan of his when you and your friends were trying to stop him. So to see that you could still do it was nice to know, not that you were ever going to be able to use that knowledge it was still nice to know you could figure him out.
“Alright love, it’s my turn now.” Klaus stated as he leaned forward, folding his arms on top of the table so he could lean against them as he looked at you and you furrowed your brows in confusion.
“You’re turn for what?” You asked him and he smiled at you.
“It’s my turn to ask you a question, you got to ask yours about what I was doing now I get to ask you mine.” He told you and you shifted slightly in your seat. It wasn’t necessarily that you were worried about what Klaus was going to ask you it was more along the lines of you were nervous about what exactly it was he was going to ask about because if it was anything pertaining to the way your heart was racing right now you were fucked.
“Ok, what’s your question then?” You motioned for him to go ahead. He paused for a moment a contemplative look crossing his face as he absent mindedly tapped his finger against the table thinking about what question to ask you or pretending to think you weren’t entirely sure.
“What did the jock get you for your birthday?” That possessive tone was back to his voice and he tried so hard to make his face seem in not neutral then curious but he failed so miserably. You could see the way his brow furrowed and his lips threatened to turn downward, his body tensing as he gave a pointed look to the bracelet that was wrapped around your wrist as if he was reassuring himself of the fact that his gift had to be better. You smiled to yourself as he met your gaze again raising an eyebrow at you when you didn’t immediately respond like he was daring you to say that Matt had gotten you something better, and you almost did just to see what would happen. Almost.
“He just got me a cool looking journal he probably found at the bookstore.” You told him. He was practically beaming with pride as his body relaxed and he sat up a little straighter reminding you very much of a bird puffing out its feathers. You giggled at his reaction shaking your head as you reached out and grabbed your drink.
“What’s your issue with Matt giving me a present anyways? He’s just a friend you know that Nik.” You reminded him.
“I don’t have an issue with the jock giving you a present, it’s your birthday you’re supposed to get presents.” That was the biggest lie you’d ever heard. You saw the way his eyes flashed at the mention of Matt giving you something even if it was just a harmless gift like a journal, and the way his hand curled briefly into a fist before relaxing. Everything about his actions screamed frustration, anger, and a certain possessiveness that had your wolf rumbling in pleasure and you feeling only slightly prideful to have someone like Klaus be so possessive over you even if there was no chance of him meaning it as more than just a concerned friend. No matter what his siblings claimed otherwise to that statement.
“Uh huh, sure, Nik, whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night.” Your tone was light and teasing and you were unable to keep the smile off your face as he smirked back at you.
“It’s the honest truth love, I don’t care if the jock gets you something for your birthday, let him get you a million things I don’t care.” He stated as he waved his hand dismissively through the air. You debated for a moment thinking about whether or not to tease him, to lie and say that Matt had wrote such sweet words in the journal, or that he’s hidden the most beautiful of necklaces inside it, so beautiful you couldn’t wear it out for fear of losing it, and you almost did before deciding to not. So far the evening had been going beautifully and had been so much fun that you didn’t want to ruin it just to poke at Klaus a little.
“Mmmhmmm sure.” You hummed as the waiter walked up to the two of you with your food.
A comfortable silence fell over the two of you as you began to eat. You liked this. You like this comfortableness that you were feeling with Klaus right now, you liked how right this whole scenario felt, how good it felt, you just liked this. You liked knowing that if you were alone with Klaus that the two of you would be able to find conversation easily enough, that the silences the two of you experienced wouldn’t be completely awkward, and that you found yourself enjoying the silence and not feeling a need to desperately fill it. Because you and Klaus had never truly been alone before. When the two of you had the rare moments of being together out in public you always had to worry about your friends interrupting you, and when the two of you were at his house one of his siblings (mostly Rebekah though) was always milling about the house and coming to interrupt the two of you. So you never really got to be alone with him but now here you were experiencing what it would be like to be alone with Klaus all the time and you were… loving it and finding that you never wanted it to end either. Because when it ended that meant you had to go back to pretending to hate each other, to having to deal with your friends and their needs and stupid little plans, and dealing with things you didn’t want to deal with anymore. You couldn’t stop yourself from thinking that maybe after tonight things would be different, with the loss of the white oak stakes and your friends plan to kill the Mikaelson maybe they would take the hint and try to live with the Mikaelson in an uneasy sort of peace? Oh how you could hope that they would do that.
“I have another question for you love.” Klaus spoke up, pulling you from your thoughts and causing you to blink as you focused on him again swallowing your bite of food.
“Oh? Shouldn’t it be my turn considering you asked the last question?” You teased him and he smirked as he sat back in his chair.
“I’ll let you ask two questions next time, ok?” He countered and you pretended to think about it for a moment before nodding your head and motioning for him to continue.
“Have you thought anymore about becoming a hybrid?” He asked you and you were silent for a moment. Truth be told you had been thinking about, it had become a recurring thought after what Damon and Stefan did to you the thought that if you had been a hybrid you wouldn’t have had to worry. You wouldn’t have had to freak out, you wouldn’t have been stuck there, you would have been able to get out. And you had done what you wanted to do, you’d experienced a few turns, you’d experienced how painful they were, how tiring they were, how restricting they were, and you knew without a doubt that Klaus wouldn’t abuse the sire bond that would form between the two of you. So you knew that you would be better off becoming a hybrid but you still found yourself hesitating with answering Klaus because you weren’t sure if you wanted to die this young. If you died now you would be stuck in a gap year of sorts forever you would be stuck between 18 and 21 for the rest of your life and you weren’t sure that you wanted that. Especially not since you’d come so far and survived so much to die in a gap year just seemed so… unfair.
“I have.” You finally told him and hope shinned in his eyes as he sat up a little straighter shifting in his seat like he was about to offer up his blood to you right here and now.
“And? What have you decided?” His voice was laced in excitement as he looked at you expectantly and you gave him a small smile as you set down your own silverware.
“I’ll do it, but on one condition.” You rushed to get out before he could cut you off or bite open his wrist to feed you his blood. His shoulders sagged slightly and his brow furrowed as he looked at you silently waiting for you to continue and you had to ignore the clenching of your heart when you saw disappointment flash through his eyes.
“I’ll let you turn me into a hybrid but only after I’ve turned 21, I don’t want to be stuck in the body of a teenager for the rest of my life, plus I’ve come too far now to die this young.” You told him and he was silent for moment his face contemplative as he looked at you before nodding his head.
“If it’s what you really want then I can wait till then, but I would like to point out that considering this towns affinity for attracting supernatural activity this is a very risky plan of yours but if it’s what you want then I’ll do it.” He paused his face still contemplative as he looked a you.
“I’m sensing a but.” You muttered and he smiled at you briefly before a serious look crossed his face.
“I’ll do it on the condition that if it’s to save your life then I’m allowed to turn you.” It was more of a statement than a suggestion and you could tell that even if you said not that he would do it anyways your feelings on being forced to turn be damned. Klaus was willing to gamble on a lot of things, but your life, your safety wasn’t one of the things that he was willing to gamble on. Your life and safety came first and if saving you meant going against one of your greatest wishes and making you hate him then so be it, so long as you lived he didn’t care how you felt about him… well he did but you didn’t need to know that not yet anyways.
“Alright, ok, you’ve got yourself a deal then.” You told him and he smiled at you pleased that you were able to if not see things fully from his point of view then at least understand what it was that he was getting at.
After that the rest of your date passed by in a blur with you and Klaus enjoying the relative silence as the two of you finished your meal and occasionally made the odd bit of small talk here and there. You complaining about how for your birthday freshman year Caroline had gotten it in her head that an actual party needed to be thrown in order for you all to gain a foothold on popularity, and you’d ended up getting grounded for it. He told you about the time that him and Elijah had been throwing a party one day to make nice with the locals and Kol had ruined it by showing up covered in blood and then proceeding to eat most of the guest in attendance forcing Klaus and Elijah to dagger him and then run from Mikael. After that you said that he had won your little who had it worse party wise and that he need not say more. And before you knew it you were standing on your front porch across from Klaus, shifting your weight from foot to foot as you looked anywhere but at him not sure of what to say to him but not wanting the evening to end so soon.
“Well I suppose I should get going.” Klaus muttered awkwardly not knowing what would be appropriate to say to you before leaving. You worried your bottom lip between your teeth watching as he turned and went to walk away form you but before he could take a step you were reaching out grabbing his wrist halting his movements.
“Wait, I still have a question that I need to ask you.” You commented and he turned back to look at you a soft smile on his face as he took in the nervousness that was radiating off of you as you continued to refuse to look at him.
“Alright love, I believe I said that I owed you two questions anyways didn’t I?” He teased you and you felt the base of your neck heat up a blush starting to creep up from them as he continued to look at you. You struggled to find the correct words to ask your question without sounding like a complete asshole, or like you didn’t like what you were about to ask him before taking a deep breath and deciding to just ask him the question as is. Better to rip the bandaid off now than try and do it later.
“Why do you call me love?” You asked him and he tilted his head to the side a cocky little smirk spreading across his face as he took a step towards you closing what little distance there was between the two of you.
“Is it not obvious love?” He asked you and you saw a hint of nervousness flash across his face as he looked at you. That little ball of hope that you had pointedly been ignoring all evening sparking a little fire inside of you as you stared into his eyes and slowly shook your head no. His cocky smirk turned into a genuine smile as he carefully reached up with one hand gently cupping your cheek with it hsi thumb ghosting over your cheek bone as he moved closer to you. Your blush started creeping further up your neck till you felt it burning your cheeks as you instinctively leaned into his touch.
“Because I fancy you love.” He murmured just loud enough for you to hear and you could feel your heart beat against our ribcage as you stared up at him your gaze briefly dropping to his lips before looking back up at him.
“Oh? Do you really now?” You asked him in a sudden burst of confidence a challenging look shinning in your eyes as he looked down at you his own gaze dropping down to your lips. It was now or never and you both knew it. If neither of you made a move now then there was a significant chance that you would never make a move and you couldn’t go one without doing something, without trying something, especially not now, especially not now that you knew he fancied you.
“I do.” He leaned in a little closer, his hand pulling your head forward at the same time and forcing you to take a step forward and close what was left of the gap between the tow of you. Your chest heaved in excitement, fear, embarrassment, and god knows what else as you stood there starring into his hoping and praying that he did what you were hoping he would do.
“Prove it.” You all but ordered and a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes as he leaned in further. Your eyes slipped closed in anticipation, his breath fanning out over your face as he breathed out in excitement and you felt his lips teasingly ghost over your lips. However before he could completely seal his lips over yours in a move that he had been dying to do the sound of one of your phones going off halted his movements. There was a tense moment of silence as the two of you stood there listening to the phone ring a couple of times before simultaneously huffing out a sigh of annoyance as the two of you stepped back from one another his hand dropping from your face.
“Not mine.” You told him as you pulled your phone out of your back pocket, expecting it to be one of your friends calling to tell you about the Mikaelson's and the white oak stakes only to see a black screen in response.
“It’s Rebekah, if she’s calling me it’s important-”
“It’s fine Nik, I promise. Thank you for taking me out for my birthday and for the bracelet I had a great time.” You interrupted him not needing to hear his explanation figuring Rebekah was most likely calling on their plan or something of that matter.
“Good night Nik, I’ll see you tomorrow.” You told him and in another burst of confidence you popped up onto your tip toes and placed a quick peck to his cheek before quickly disappearing inside your face aflame with a blush as you all but slammed the door closed behind you. Klaus stood there for a few moments more just letting his phone ring and then stop and start ringing again as Rebekah called him once more but he was too busy staring at your closed front door listening to your rapid heart beat on the other side to answer it right now. Slowly he reached a hand up to touch his cheek a large dopey smile spreading across his face as he stared at your door. The sound of his phone starting to ring for the third time finally managed to pull him out of his thoughts and just like that his smile was gone and a serious look settled over his face as he answered the phone stalking off of our porch.
“What Rebekah?” He bit out as he climbed into his car sounding more than annoyed.
