“Is it over? Is it really over?” | Mark Watney x Reader
Fictober 2023 Day 24 - “Is it over? Is it really over?”

A quiet day is usually hard to find at NASA, but since the rescue of stranded astronauts Mark Watney and Y/N L/N from Mars, things had certainly calmed down as the Hermes ship continued its almost year-long journey back to Earth, safe and sound.
Instead of calculating trajectories and plotting courses, the scientists at NASA now had a slightly more chilled job of combing through the hundreds of video logs made by the pair of astronauts during their time of exile. As soon as they arrived at the Ares IV MAV, the high-bandwidth connection on board was used to upload the diaries to Earth, to chronical their time on the red planet, but also provide the memory of their final living days in case the worst occurred during their rescue mission.
Thankfully, the worst did not happen.
Vincent Kapoor and Mindy Park now crowded around an office computer scanning the videos for any important information they missed to be filed away for NASA’s future space missions. Annie Montrose kept an eye on them and the screen over their shoulders for anything she might be able to release to the public who continued to clamour for anything about life on Mars.
“Our own employees shit-talking the scientists of NASA and their advice to help save their lives maybe shouldn’t be broadcast to the world,” Annie lamented as Mindy shut off another video where Mark whined about an army of botanists trying to micro-manage his potatoes with a new growing technique and Y/N complained about the demanding engineers who critiqued her repairs on the rover and quote “wouldn’t know a wrench if they sat on one”.
“Self-awareness can be a refreshing approach for a government agency,” suggested Vincent, sarcastically, rubbing his eyes from the glare of the screen. Mindy laughed as Annie launched a pen at Vincent’s head in annoyance as she clicked on the next video. It began with Mark alone on the screen.

“So, nothing has caught fire in 15 sols, I think that’s a new record for us,” Mark always managed to sound cheerful on his video diaries no matter the situation. He could be smoking from an explosion, arm falling off and in the middle of a claustrophobia-induced argument with you, but still have a boyish smile on his face.
You couldn’t think of anyone better to be stuck on Mars with. His constant witty narration and array of new bold ideas to keep you both alive braved your unfathomable storms, even when you were close to giving up on ever returning home.
No wonder you fell for him.
And he fell for you too.
Some would say being stuck on a deserted planet with your crush would be a dream. Maybe not a dream, but the constant close quarters did force you both to admit your burgeoning feelings for each other and begin your relationship. Sure, the adrenaline-fuelled trauma bonding and distinct lack of personal space at all times sometimes felt like a wall, your patience with each other and resolve to overcome triumphed.
“Y/N should be back soon,” Mark continued, “it’s been pretty goddamn quiet without them here. I hope they get back soon, I’ve started talking to my potato plants again… Y/N, please come back soon.” You had been on a multi-Sol test-drive of the rover, trying to gently push its limits before the long pilgrimage that was to come. Mark loved your commitment to the rover, how you cared for it like your child - both your child - but all he wanted now was for you to return, safe and back in his arms.
Mark continued his daily report diligently - so diligently, in fact, that he was completely unaware of your early return back to the Hab.
All that could be seen on the screen was his eyes suddenly snapping to the side and widen with a gasp.
“Oh my God.”
In an instant, he was up and completely gone from the camera, but soon he returned, locked in a heated embrace with you.
You both crashed and clattered into the wall of the Hab; you straddling his thighs with your dusty suit rolled down, exposing your torso, and him laid almost completely flat on his desk chair, pulling you into him with all the force of a lonely lover finally reunited. Your lips moved with a frantic speed, making up for lost time, as your weathered and slightly dirty hands threaded through his hair. He clutched and squeezed all over your curves as he whispered affirmations of “God, baby, I missed you”, “fuck, I was so worried”, “I love you so much” between kisses.
Mark eventually broke away, only for a second, remembering in a panic that the computer was still recording. It took all his might to pull away from you, but you launched back in immediately, planting sloppy kisses down his neck. His eyes started to roll back with a sigh on his lips and his hand fumbled around for the computer’s off switch.
xxx
In all their years, the NASA employees had never been more shocked.
A simple briefing log quickly descended into softcore porn. But it was so hard to look away.
Mindy had her hands covering her eyes, but still secretly peeked between her fingers; this was by far the most interesting briefing she had ever been a part of.
“Is it over? Is it really over?” she asked worriedly from behind her hands. She got no response from Vincent who simply looked ahead, stunned and silent, no words to wipe their memories of what they just saw. An exasperated sigh sounded from Annie, her brow pinched within an inch of its life.
“No one release that one to the public.”

We were yet on another case, Danny gave us the lowdown and his ‘sold’ plan just like he did when we robbed the Bellagio casino. After me and my brother Rusty met up with Linus and Danny we split up to get a few things. Lunis was supposed to go with me and steal some documents for the heist. Linus was a total sweetheart and the complete opposite of most of the guys on our team, but damn he gets distracted easily. I looked down for one second and he’s gone.
I caught him getting distracted by a stray puppy. I head to admit, it was kinda cute to watch it all go down. Linus was across the street, knelt down on one knee in front of this blond Dachshund puppy. The puppy put his front paws on the knee that was on the ground and craned his neck up to sniff Linus’ hand. I smiled at how gentle and loving Linus was to this puppy he just met.
I chuckled from afar, approaching him. God knows he'll get in trouble if either Danny or Rusty finds out he got distracted so easily
“You get distracted so easily” I said kindly and knelt down next to him and petted the puppy too. He was a very unique looking puppy, probably a mutt. He had those big black dachshund eyes and body, but had the same shade of fur as a golden retriever. I've only seen these types of mixes in fancy pet stores and dog shows on tv. He must have ran away, but he didn’t have a collar and looked like he hadn’t eaten in a while. It broke my heart to think about him possibly being abandoned.
Linus looked up at me with those big blue eyes, they almost held just as much innocents as the puppy’s eyes did. It was unusual in a good way that his personality was so different. He was just gentle and kind unlike my sarcastic brother and Danny with his twisted and sometimes misunderstood humor. Linus laughed before looking down at the puppy again. He flashes me a smile as he looks back up at me.
“I know, I know... But who can blame me?” Linus gestures to the puppy as if it were obvious why he was distracted in the first place. Linus gently scooped the puppy up in his arms and held him to his chest protectively.
“You're adorable, you know that?” I smiled softly, not confirming if I was talking about him or the puppy. I gently rubbed the puppy behind the ear as Linus held him. The puppy sniffed my hand, letting me love on him.
Linus raised an eyebrow in confusion, turning pink as he looked up at me. It was rare for me to make a guy blush, I was just as shy as he was at times. But I guess I just felt comfortable with him and the team, I guess I'm what they call an ambivert.
Linus looked between me and the puppy, bushing “Me? Or…” He nods over to the puppy, clearly not certain that I meant him or the puppy.
“Wouldn't you like to know…” I looked up at him with a smirk, but it was very affectionate. I stroked the puppy behind the ear. The puppy was small, but he looked even smaller when Linus held him.
“Hah” Linus let out a bit of a scoff at my answer. He rolled his eyes, a small smile forming at the corners of his lips. “That's not fair, ya know?” He said with a chuckle and looked back down at the puppy, gently stroking his fur.
“Eh, you're smart…you’ll figure out who i'm talking about soon enough” I shrugged playfully and let the puppy lick my hand.
Linus laughed gently, rolling his eyes as he tried to mask the red tint in his face and the pounding in his chest. He continued gently stroking the puppy's soft fur, but looked down at his watch. He quickly glances back down at the puppy again and lets out a dejected sigh. “I guess we should get back?” He said, though he seemed as if he didn't want to go back immediately.
“We should take him with us…” I looked up at him with puppy eyes, begging him to go along with my plan. “we can't just leave him out here alone”
Linus raised an eyebrow at me before looking down at the puppy again. He couldn't help but let out a small amused snort. “You realize that you're giving me the same puppy eyes look that this puppy is, right?”
I smiled up at him. “You do the same thing to me all the time”
“Touche” Linus let out a bit of an amused scoff. He turns his attention back to the puppy, gently stroking him before letting out a fake defeated sigh. “Fine then, we'll take him with us. But we may have to hide him from Rusty and Danny if we have to”
I chuckled softly at the mention of Danny and my brother. “They'll be fine” especially if i'm behind it. Have both Rusty and Danny wrapped around my finger. Rusty refuses to yell at me because doesn't want to be like our dad and Danny knows he'll get hit by Rusty or Tess if he’s mean to me. Usually if they have an attitude I don't like I'll pull a prank or refuse to hack into anything for a heist.
“Will they?” It was mostly a rhetorical question, but Linus' tone was a tad serious. He held the puppy close to his chest, as if he was protecting it. He looked down at the puppy smiling, but looked concerned. “...We're going to need to feed him too. He looks skinny.”
“If Rusty didn't already eat it all there should be some leftover fried chicken in the fridge” I said petting the puppy. I smiled, thinking about what Danny and Rusty would say. “and who could say no to this face... Danny's too much of a softly deep down to tell us to get rid of him”
Linus let out a soft sigh, knowing that I was correct. He gently held the puppy closer to his chest and gently scratched behind the puppy's ear. He let out a small chuckle. We both knew the puppy really was cute..
“Damn it…” Linus muttered under his breath, though he didn't seem angry. He looked down at the puppy with a small, warm smile. The puppy looked up at him and craned his neck up, he sniffed Linus' face and licked his chin.
I smiled, stroking the golden fur on the puppy’s back. “Good boy,” I said softly.
Linus chuckled as the puppy licked his chin, closing his eyes in amusement. “Hey there, boy” He said gently in a playful, tender tone. He gently scratched and patted the puppy on the head and underneath his chin, to which the puppy gently barked and wagged his tail happily.
“Please... Who knows how long he's been wandering the streets” I said softly.
Linus was still occupied by the puppy, scratching behind his ears and patting him on his head. He was quiet for several moments before letting out a small chuckle and a sigh. “I suppose you're right…”
My smile widened and I looked up at him, Linus gave back a small amused grin. “Guess this is our puppy now, huh?”
It made my heart flutter when he said 'our puppy.' I've loved him for so long, I just didn't know how to tell him and didn't want to mess up our strong friendship. Owing something this important and innocent together was the best feeling I had in a long time. I could only dream that he felt the same way. “I guess so…” Is all I said.
I didn’t know Linus has had feelings for me for quite some time. However, I was worried about messing up the strong friendship we built since the day we met. He continued to gently pat and scratch behind the puppy's ears, who was clearly loving the attention. “Do you mind if I name him...? I thought of one that actually suits him?”
“What did you have in mind?”
“How do you feel about calling him Lucky?” Linus said in response, smiling softly at the puppy. It was quite the fitting name after all... Lucky was a true miracle to be born like the way he was. A rare, unique puppy. Linus truly believes that the puppy is a miracle in itself, and wanted to remind the dog of it by naming him Lucky.
“Lucky is a cute name” I smiled and stroked his golden fur. “well... It’s lucky we found him”
“Yeah.” Linus agreed. He watched as I pet the puppy, though I felt his gaze focused on me instead of the puppy. He smiled warmly as he watched me with those beautiful blue eyes, his eyes filled with admiration as he watched my tender touches with Lucky.
I smiled at the puppy as he craned his neck towards me and licked my cheek. I laughed softly. Moving closer to the puppy as Linus held him. I petted his head with one hand and stroked his chin with the other.
The puppy was clearly loving all the attention from both of us, his tail wagging happily and his tongue was out slightly. Linus continued to watch me and Lucky closely, his heart beating rapidly in his chest. I couldn't help but find it adorable to see Linus so focused on the puppy, holding him so protectively. I had to resist the urge to move myself closer and gently press my lips against his. “Let's get him to the hotel…”
“Yeah... The others are probably starting to get worried.” Linus gently held the puppy close to his chest as he nodded in agreement. He didn't let go of Lucky as he looked back up at me with a small smile, before gesturing for me to come along. “Onwards
~~~~~~~~(.......)~~~~~~~~
We took him to the hotel room then set him down. He sniffed around a bit, getting used to the place. His tail was wagging and his nose led him right to Rusty. He looked down from where he was sitting at the counter, he looked down surprised. “where did the dog come from?” Rusty asked as the puppy stood on his hind legs, begging for the food Rusty had.
“Uh... We found him in the streets. Left all alone” Linus explained as he looked over at Rusty. He couldn't help but smirk, knowing that the puppy was going to try and steal the food Rusty was currently eating.
Rusty sighed, but not completely against it. “Guys..”
I ignored Rusty as he dragged out the word and stole a chicken strip off Rusty's plate then knelt down in front of Lucky, giving him a piece.
Linus chuckled. It was obvious Rusty was reluctant to let the puppy have any of his food, but he didn't protest for the time being. Linus continued to watch me feed Lucky, a smirk still on his face as the puppy happily wolfed down the chicken piece given to him.
“Come on, he was on the street. What were we supposed to do?” I asked rusty as I filled a bowl of water up for the puppy
Rusty was silent, as he knew I had a point. Even though he was annoyed, he didn't protest or say anything. He let out a deep sigh and looked over at me and Lucky in defeat.
“Fine... He can stay for now, alright?”
Rusty shrugged as he spoke. He looked over at the puppy, his eyes showing that he didn't want to admit it but he was softening to the dog. He took another bite of his food and spoke again. “Look, the dog has to prove himself first. Then I'll make my judgment”
Linus and I both knew Rusty was just trying to save face. But he knew deep down that Rusty already had a soft spot for Lucky. The puppy let out a quick small bark at Rusty.
Rusty looked over at the puppy and couldn't help but let out a small scoff of amusement at the loud bark. He rolled his eyes and took another bite of his food as he muttered. “Smart ass…”
Danny walked into the room a couple of minutes later and raised an eyebrow at the sight of Lucky. “Why's there a dog here?”
“me and Linus found him…”
Danny was silent for several moments as he took in this information. He looked over at Lucky, who was now sitting at your feet. The expression on Danny’s face was clearly a mixture of irritation and disappointment.
“Please tell me you two aren’t keeping the dog…”
“Please, Danny. He was all alone... Someone abandoned him”
Danny lets out a loud sigh in annoyance. He looked over at you and at Lucky, who was looking up at him with wide, pleading eyes. “Damn it. I hate cute things” He muttered to himself under his breath before looking back over at me and Linus. “You better make sure that goddamn dog doesn’t cause any trouble, got it?”
I immediately hugged Danny. “Thank you!”
“Yeah, yeah” Danny said, playfully rolling his eyes. “You guys are such children sometimes”
Linus chuckled as he watched Danny roll his eyes at the hug. Linus knew Danny would soften up eventually and end up approving of having the puppy with them in the hotel room. He crossed his arms and smirked. “Yeah, yeah. We’re such children. But you secretly love us really”
“Yeah, we're a joy to be around” I added.
Danny rolled his eyes in annoyance again, though it was clear from the affectionate tone in his voice that he was only teasing me and Linus. “Yeah… More like, a right pain in the ass…”
Lucky walked right up to Danny and sat at his feet. The puppy looked up at him and let out a small yelp, pawing at his pant leg gently. Danny raised an eyebrow in annoyance as Lucky sat at his feet. However, when the puppy let out a small yelp, it softened his irritation just a bit. But he refused to show it immediately as he looked down at the puppy and scoffed. “What do you want, mutt?”
Lucky tilted his head and wagged his tail. Danny continued to look down at Lucky, but his expression softened when the puppy tilted his head and wagged his tail in response. He tried his absolute hardest to hide the fact that he was softening to Lucky, but ultimately failed miserably. He let out a small grumble under his breath. “Stop looking at me like that, will ya?”
“aw, he likes you” I smirked.
Danny sighed, but the expression on his face quickly softened. He couldn’t help but give into the puppy’s cuteness, and secretly admitted to himself that the puppy was adorable as it sat there wagging its tail. “Ugh…. Cute bastard” Danny sighed, making me laugh.
Danny gave me an annoyed look again, clearly not happy to have had his secret admission of how adorable he found the puppy. Even Rusty chuckled at that
“Shut up… You two are even worse than the mutt” he told me and Linus.
“He does have a name ya know... You don't have to keep calling him mutt”
Danny looked back down at Lucky and raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, yeah… So what’s the mutt’s name then?”
“Lucky” me and Linus responded at the same time.
Danny looked at Lucky for several moments before raising an eyebrow at me and Linus. “Lucky, huh?” He smirked, clearly secretly finding it a bit ironic that we’d give the dog that particular name. “How cliché…”
“Fuck you” I said in a fake offended tone.
“Hey, don’t hate me cause it’s true” Danny shot me and Linus a smirk as he said that, to which Rusty snickered from where he was sitting.
I rolled my eyes. Danny chuckled, clearly amused. He continued to look down at Lucky, before crossing his arms. “Hey, Mutt. Gimme your paw”
Lucky held his paw out for him. Danny was a bit surprised but impressed when Lucky held his paw out for him, as if it was asking for him to shake it’s paw. He raised an eyebrow, but the smirk never left his face. He knelt down and held onto Lucky’s paw with the tips of his fingers and gently shook it. “Huh… Smart little bastard”
I smiled and playfully nudged Linus, looking smug that we had a smart pup. Linus chuckled, smiling back as he playfully nudged me back. I looked at him and couldn't control the slight blush that dusted my cheeks. My heart fluttered at the reminder that Lucky was our puppy. I just wished I had the courage to tell him how I felt, that his friendship meant everything to me, but I loved him more than just that. We may have Been lucky to have found... Lucky, but there hasn't been a day that's gone buy that I didn't feel lucky to have Linus in my life.
I cleared my throat, trying to distract from my flustered expression. “Okay, but Lucky is sleeping with me tonight” I said, picking up the weiner dog mix and holding him to my chest.
“Lucky gets to sleep with you on the first night with us? Damn… Seems a little unfair, don’t ya think?”
“It's very fair” I smirked as Lucky licked my face. But I would be lying if I said I didn't think about the three of us all cuddling together and safe in bed. Lucky curled up between us and Linus' arm around me as we slept. I cuddled my face into Lucky's back as I held him so I could hide the blush those thoughts brought.
“Lucky's a really Lucky dog, huh?” Linus spoke in a joking tone, making me chuckle softly.
Before he could control the impulse, he spoke almost subconsciously. “God, you're so beautiful, you know that?”
My heart skipped a beat, I looked up at him with wide eyes as my cheeks turned red, I quickly played it off, afraid this could go bad. “M-me or... The pup?”
Linus’ lips twitched in amusement as I tried to play off his compliment. He had a small smirk on his face as he chuckled. “Oh, absolutely the pup….” He said sarcastically, his tone clearly teasing. But he quickly spoke again with a more serious, yet still slightly teasing tone.“You know damn well I’m talking about you”
“T-thank you... Y-you too” I mentally cursed myself, that was such an embarrassing response. I couldn't understand how I could have these loving or sometimes dirty thoughts about me and him and when there's a sliver of hope I chicken out. I held Lucky closer and hid my embarrassment in the golden fur of his back.
“Yeah… Your welcome” he mumbled almost awkwardly.
“So... Umm” I looked up shyly to change the subject. “tomorrow... Do you wanna go to the pet store together and get Lucky a collar and some other supplies?”
A faint smile appeared on Linus’ face as I asked him, secretly grateful we changed the subject. He chuckled softly and nodded. “That sounds like a great plan. We can go to the pet store tomorrow and get Lucky his supplies”
He paused for a moment, secretly wondering whether or not he should use this as a chance to take a risk and subtly confirm if I had any feelings for him… He took a deep breath and quietly added.
“Just the two of us?”
“Well, lucky will be with us,” I joked with a smile.
Linus chuckled at my response. Despite the pang of disappointment you could see running through his body, he smiled back. “You know what I’m trying to ask, you smartass. Just us two without Rusty or Danny tagging along”
“Of course” I chuckled. Me and Linus were paired up to do a lot of stuff when it came to heists anyways, that's how we became such close friends. The more time I spent with him, the harder I fell for him.
“Great! It'll be just the two of us, sounds good”
“Yep” I smiled, my cheeks turning red when my eyes met his blue ones. “So... Umm” I looked down at Lucky in my arms, the puppy let out a yawn then shook his head. “I Should probably get to bed…”
“R-right, yeah… Get some sleep” Linus said as I held Lucky out to him so he could say good night.
Linus smiled as I held Lucky out towards him for him to say goodnight. My heart couldn’t help but flutter when I thought about how the puppy now technically belonged to the both of us. He took Lucky into his arms and chuckled.
“Goodnight, Lucky. Behave, alright?” He jokingly warned Lucky, before passing the puppy back to me.
--------(3rd pov)--------
Y/n’s hotel room was right across the hallway from the one Linus, Danny, and Rusty were staying in. It was about 1 Am, y/n was fast asleep with Lucky curled up beside her. Lucky's ears perked up suddenly when he heard her whimper and shift in bed. Lucky stood up, alerted now when she twitched. Lucky nudged her arm with his cold nose trying to wake her up from the nightmare, she wouldn't open her eyes. Lucky let out a yelp but I didn't work.
Lucky jumped from the bed and ran as fast as his stubby legs could take him. He went to the front door of the hotel room and looked up. The Handel was too high, he sniffed under the door then saw there was a side table next to the door, he jumped up on it then pawed at the door handle. He eventually pushed down, almost falling off the table in the process. Once he was out in the hallway he ran to the hotel room where he tracked Linus' scent. To the puppy's luck, Rusty forgot to close the door. He slipped into the room and went to where Linus was sleeping on the couch. He jumped on to his chest and let out a yelp.
The sudden feeling of something small and soft landing on his chest brought Linus out of his deep sleep. He immediately sprung up, instantly on guard as he wondered what had just landed on him. However, his confusion was quickly replaced with surprise when he saw it was Lucky. He blinked, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness around him.
“Lucky? What the hell…” He muttered under his breath. Despite his surprise and slight annoyance at being woken up in the middle of the night, he still gently petted the puppy’s head.
Lucky barked again and Linus quietly shushed him, not wanting to wake up Rusty and Danny who were sleeping in the room.
“Hey, hey… Keep your voice down, alright Buddy? You’re gonna wake up the others”
Then he immediately realized something. He got a bad feeling in his gut. “Wait a second… How did you even get in here?” He whispered.
Lucky jumped down to the floor and tugged at Linus' pant leg. He watched as Lucky pulled on his pant leg, feeling incredibly confused by the dog's actions. He didn’t understand why Lucky was trying to pull him out of the hotel room. “Hey- What do you want me to follow you or something?” He quietly asked the puppy, before he decided to stop wasting time with questions and get up to follow Lucky instead.
Linus quietly followed Lucky to the door, his mind running a mile a minute as he tried to figure out why Lucky had randomly come to his room and tried to get him out. He looked back at Rusty and Danny, making sure they hadn’t been woken up by all the racket before tip-toeing out of the room and gently closing the door behind him.
“Okay… I’m out. Where are we going?”
Lucky led him to y/n's room and to the bed she was sleeping on. Lucky jumped up on the bed, whimpering as She continued to have a nightmare she couldn't wake up from.
Linus’ eyes widened in panic when they finally entered the room and he saw her tossing and turning in the bed. Seeing y/n have a nightmare was a horrible sight for him, and he immediately crossed the room and knelt beside the bed, his concern growing as Lucky whimpered and nudged her arm.
“Hey, y/n. wake up” He whispered, gently placing a hand on her shoulder, trying to gently shake her awake.
Y/n immediately shot up, her heart racing. Lucky jumped in her lap and licked her chin and nuzzled himself closer. Linus’ heart skipped as he gently held her shoulders as he tried to soothe her, wanting to calm her down and make sure she felt safe again from whatever horrible dream that was. Linus’ eyes never left hers.
“Hey, hey. It’s okay… You’re okay. I’m here” He whispered softly, gently rubbing her upper arm with his thumb in an attempt to comfort, while also subconsciously savoring the feeling of touching her.
Y/n's breathing was heavy and she wrapped her arms around Linus' neck, holding on to him. Lucky jumped off her lap and went to them empty side of the bed so Linus could get closer to her
Linus’ heart was pounding against his chest, his mind went blank for a moment. He had secretly dreamed of her hugging him like this so many times… But he could also feel how scared she was. He could feel her trembling in his arms... So he gently wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
“Shhh… It’s okay, baby. I’ve got you. You’re okay”
Y/n buried her face into his chest, making his heart flutter. He held her a little tighter, rubbing her back soothingly while resting his chin on the top of her head. He swallowed hard, his heart racing as he gently stroked her hair. He tried to ignore the hammering in his chest and the butterflies he felt in his stomach when he held her like this.
“I thought I lost you” she cried. “Everything went so wrong…” She mumbled, as her nightmare flashed in her mind over and over.
“No, No” Linus felt his heart ache for y/n as he heard her cry. His arms instinctively held her tighter when she cried and he gently shushed her, rocking her slightly in his arms. “No, I’m right here. I’m right here with you, Baby. I’m safe… I promise”
He gently tilted y/n’s head up so he could look at her face. He gently placed his hand on her cheek, gently wiping away the tears as they fell with his thumb.
She nuzzled into his touch, trembling. Linus’ heart ached as he continued to wipe away the tears and saw her tremble in his arms. The need to comfort and protect y/n overwhelmed him, his heart feeling like it was going to burst as he gently kept his hand on her cheek. He carefully shifted closer to her, bringing his other arm around her. He gently pulled her closer, resting her against his chest.
His mind was racing as he held y/n, both trying to distract himself from the intense closeness between her and thinking about what her nightmare could have been about. Just the feel of her in his arms, her body against his, her head resting on his chest as he held her. It had his heart racing and his stomach filled with butterflies.
“I didn't mean to wake you up... I'm sorry” She mumbled.
Linus gently tilted y/n's chin up again so she was looking at him. He gently wiped a tear off her face again, his heart aching as he saw the fear behind her eyes.
“Hey, don’t worry about that. I don’t care about losing out on some sleep. You don’t need to be sorry” He gently cupped her face in both his hands. He felt his breath hitch and his heart race as he stared into her eyes, his thumb gently stroking your jawline. She melted into his touch, feeling nothing but love and safety.
Linus stared back into y/n's eyes, his breath hitching as he looked at her like this. He was mesmerized at the sight of her up close. He loved her eyes, the way they shined and how loving they were, how he could get lost in them for hours and never want to leave. He loved having her this close to him. He gently cupped her face in his hands, leaning in closer until his face was just an inch away from hers. He gently stroked her face with his thumbs.
“Can I ask you something?”
Her breath hitched, she didn't shy away from him and let him get closer. Her heart fluttered at how close they were. “What is it?”
Linus’ heart raced at her soft voice and the fact that she didn’t move away from him. He took that as a good sign, a sign that she was perhaps comfortable with him being this close. He swallowed hard as he looked into her eyes. And then he took a risk, his voice barely louder than a whisper. “Can I… do something?”
“Yes” she whispered.
He slowly but carefully shifted a bit closer to y/n, his body almost flush against hers and his face close enough that he could feel her soft breaths.
“Close your eyes.” he said softly, her eyes fluttering closed.
Linus took a deep shaky breath as soon as y/n's eyes closed. He could feel himself trembling slightly as he carefully moved closer to her. He wanted this moment to be perfect so badly… He gently pulled her body flush against his, wrapping his arms around her waist and gently holding her close to his chest. He slowly leaned in, his heart racing in his chest and his head buzzing as he slowly and gently pressed his lips to hers. Y/n’s breath hitched as his lips met her's. She melted into the kiss, placing her hand on his cheek.
He gently pulled her closer, wanting to savor every second of this moment. He gently cupped her face, kissing her. His heart was racing and butterflies filled his stomach. Y/n tasted like heaven, she felt like heaven, and he could already feel himself getting addicted to the feeling of her lips on his.
Linus reluctantly and gently broke the kiss for y/n to catch her breath. He felt a little breathless as well as he felt y/n rest her forehead against his.He couldn’t stop the feeling of warmth that spread through his body when he held her like this. His heart was still racing, and he couldn’t help but to admire her face so close to his. “Jesus… you have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that”
“me too”
Linus let out a soft, slightly shaky sigh of pure happiness as he heard y/n’s response. He gently pulled her closer, holding her tight against his body, his arms securely wrapped around her. “Then… does this mean you have… you know, feelings for me?” He asked softly, his heartbeat quickening.
“I've had feelings for you since the day we met,” she said softly.
“You… have?” Linus once again was stunned. He wasn’t expecting y/n to admit that she had feelings for him this whole time. He couldn’t help the way he practically melted at the admission. “why didn’t you say anything?” He gently asked, his eyes never leaving hers.
“I was afraid of ruining our friendship, you mean everything to me” she said softly, there was a hint of vulnerability in her voice.
“You mean everything to me too, baby” Linus gently lifted his hand from y/n’s back to cup her face, gently stroking your check with his thumb. His heart still felt like it was racing a million miles per hour, he took a deep shaky breath before he continued to speak.
“You could never ruin our friendship, darling… because I’ve been completely in love with you for months”
“R-really?” Her breath hitched and she stared up at him with doe eyes.
Linus chuckled at her cute little doe eyes, his fingers gently stroking her skin as he stared into her eyes. “Yes, really… You have no idea how much I love you. I’ve been in love with you for monts”
“I love you too” She whispered, nuzzling her nose against his.
Linus practically melted at hearing her say that. It sent a wave of happiness and excitement through his body, and the feeling of having her nuzzling against him only made his heart race faster. He gently cupped her face in his hands and softly nuzzled his nose against hers, a soft smile on his face as he spoke. “Jesus, I’ve wanted to hear that from you for months”
“Sorry it took so long,” she said softly.
“no, don't apologize… You have nothing to be sorry for”
Linus gently pulled y/n a bit closer, wanting to savor the feeling of having her in his arms and as close to his body as he could. His hands on her waist gently moved to her hips, still holding her securely against his body. He softly nuzzled his face against the top of her head, taking in the scent of her hair and enjoying the sensation of their body pressed against each other. He felt like he was in Heaven.
Y/n eventually fell asleep, making Lucky want to be closer to them. Linus gently chuckled at the feeling of Lucky cuddled up next to him. He continued gently stroking y/n's hair with one hand, the other gently moving to stroke the top Lucky’s head. He looked down at Lucky next to him, smiling slightly at the way he was staring up at him with cute puppy eyes.
“You really are a lucky mutt…”
Bet (Klaus Mikaelson x M! Reader)
Summary: Thanks to your brothers, all you knew about the Mikaelson family was that they were dangerous and threatened your livelihood. However, when you're saved by the hybrid himself, he poses a bet to change your mind or be given insight into the cure.
You paced the old parlor of the Salvatore boarding house, frustration bubbling inside you like an unwelcome storm. Damon had been shouting in your ear again, his usual rant about the Mikaelsons’ supposed evil nature still echoing off the walls. He was adamant: the Originals were nothing but a death sentence waiting to happen, and you needed to steer clear of them.
Stefan, meanwhile, had taken his usual route, trying to appeal to your emotional side. He claimed your search for the cure was pointless, a dangerous fantasy you needed to abandon. His eyes had softened, his voice dropping to that earnest tone he reserved for when he was about to say something ‘profound.’
“It’s over,” he’d said. “What we did centuries ago, what happened to you…it was for the best. We’re a family now.”
You'd barely managed to stifle your scoff. A family, he said. Easy for him to preach about family when he and Damon had been content to let Katherine turn them. You, on the other hand, had been set to marry Emily, a kind-hearted girl from town. All that was ripped away when your brothers decided to drag you into their mess, condemning you to an eternity you never asked for. You had lost everything. You hadn't chosen this life; it had been forced upon you.
“Look, little brother,” Damon had warned earlier that night, his eyes darkening as they flickered to yours, a flash of genuine concern slipping past his usual bravado. “Stay away from Klaus. He’s not the kind of enemy you can afford to make.”
“Damon, I’m not stupid,” you’d retorted, rolling your eyes in exasperation. “I just want the cure. If Klaus has any knowledge of it, I’m not going to let your paranoid warnings stop me.”
And that was why you found yourself in the woods outside Mystic Falls, pursuing the rumor that Klaus was near. Your heart pounded, a mix of anger and hope driving you forward. That hope turned into a nightmare when one of Katherine's minions appeared out of nowhere, tackling you to the ground. The stake in his hand glinted in the sunlight, aiming straight for your heart.
You struggled, trying to push him off, but he was relentless. Just as you braced for the end, there was a blur of motion, and your assailant was suddenly torn away. You gasped, scrambling to your feet as you saw Klaus standing over the broken body of your attacker. His eyes were cold, yet his posture was relaxed, almost as if saving you had been a minor inconvenience.
"You—" your voice came out rough, disbelief dripping from every word, "you saved me?"
Klaus tilted his head, eyes dancing with amusement. "Don't sound so surprised, love. Surely you didn't think I'd let Katherine have all the fun."
Your pulse hammered in your chest, more out of confusion than fear. Klaus, of all people? The monster your brothers had warned you about? The hybrid who supposedly wanted nothing more than to tear the Salvatores apart? You glared at him, trying to ignore the nagging questions in your mind.
"Why?" you demanded, pushing yourself to stand straight despite the throbbing pain in your side. "Why would you help me?"
Klaus stepped closer, his eyes locking onto yours with a piercing intensity. "Because," he said softly, his voice dangerous and smooth, "I have plans for you."
You tensed, instincts flaring again, but something in his gaze held you captive. There was a softness, a flicker of something deeper beneath the cold exterior. "Plans?" you repeated, the word bitter on your tongue. "Like what, adding me to your collection of enemies? Using me against my brothers?"
He laughed, a low, rumbling sound that sent a shiver up your spine. "So much suspicion. Your brothers really have done a number on you, haven’t they?" He took another step closer, his presence commanding and overwhelming. "But I assure you, my intentions are far more…personal."
Your stomach twisted in knots, both from his words and the weight of your brothers' warnings ringing in your ears. Klaus Mikaelson is a monster. He’s dangerous. Don’t ever trust him.
But here he was. Standing before you, having just saved your life.
"You expect me to believe that?" you asked, your voice harsher than you intended. "That you’re just here to help out of the goodness of your heart?"
Klaus smiled, his lips curling with dark amusement. "No, I expect you to listen. I know what you’ve been searching for—the cure." You froze. He knew. Of course, he knew. Klaus always seemed to know everything. But this was different—this was something you had kept close, something personal, driven by a desperation to reclaim your humanity.
Your mouth went dry. "What do you know about it?" you asked, voice barely above a whisper.
"I know more than you think," Klaus replied smoothly, his eyes gleaming. "But that’s not something I’ll simply give away."
Of course, there was always a catch. You crossed your arms, defensive. "What do you want from me?"
"Simple," Klaus said, taking a final step until he was just inches from you, his voice low and measured. "Spend time with me. Get to know me and my family. Let me show you that we’re not the monsters your brothers make us out to be. If, after that, you still believe we’re nothing but dangerous beasts, I’ll tell you everything I know about the cure."
You scoffed. "So, what—this is some kind of bet?"
Klaus's smile turned predatory. "Call it a wager, if you prefer. If I can’t change your mind, you get what you want. But if I do…" His gaze flickered over you, something unreadable in his eyes. "Then you’ll owe me."
"That’s it? You’re not going to force me into anything?" You raised an eyebrow, your suspicion still very much alive.
Klaus chuckled darkly. "I don’t need to force anyone into anything, love. I think, deep down, you're already curious."
His confidence rattled you. But beneath the fear and doubt, there was a flicker of something else. A sense of intrigue. Curiosity. After all, hadn't you already begun questioning your brothers' stories? You hadn’t expected Klaus to be anything other than a brutal monster—and yet, here he was, offering you a chance.
After a moment, you sighed. "Fine, I’ll take your bet. But don’t expect this to be easy."
"I wouldn’t have it any other way."
What began as a begrudging agreement quickly spiraled into something far more complex. Klaus introduced you to his family, and to your surprise, they were far more than heartless killing machines.
Elijah’s calm, noble demeanor immediately stood out. He was nothing like the vicious killer you’d imagined. And Rebekah—though quick-tempered and prone to impulsiveness—had a genuine vulnerability that reminded you of Stefan in a strange way. They weren’t monsters; they were people. Complicated, dangerous people, yes, but not the soulless creatures Damon had described.
Klaus...Klaus was the most perplexing of all.
He was still terrifying, no doubt about it—his temper as quick as ever, a constant reminder of the danger lurking beneath his every move. Klaus’s control over any situation was absolute, as though the world bent to his will, daring not to defy him. And yet, there was something about him that gnawed at the edges of the image your brothers had painted.
It started subtly, at first. His gaze would linger on you a fraction too long, his eyes softening for a moment before the familiar steely mask snapped back into place. In those rare, unguarded moments, you felt something shift—a crack in his unyielding façade, a glimpse of the man he might have been before centuries of betrayal hardened him into the creature he had become.
And then there were the nights when you found yourself alone with him, often under the most unexpected circumstances. Once, after a particularly brutal fight with Damon, you returned to the mansion bruised and exhausted. You had expected Klaus to gloat or mock your weakness, but instead, he was there, his presence both commanding and unexpectedly gentle.
You stumbled into the grand foyer, wincing with every step as pain radiated through your battered body. Klaus emerged from the shadows, his eyes sharp with concern. Without a word, he guided you to a nearby settee, his hands surprisingly gentle as he helped you settle.
"You should be more careful," Klaus murmured, his voice low and almost tender. He knelt beside you, his fingers brushing lightly over the bruise on your bottom lip. His touch was meticulous, almost reverent, and the contrast between his harsh exterior and this tender care was jarring.
You met his gaze, searching for the ruthless hybrid you’d come to know. Instead, you saw a flicker of something softer, an emotion you couldn’t quite place. “I don’t understand you,” you said, wincing as your words caused the sore area of your lip to tighten. “Why keep me around if this is all a bet? Why show yourself like this if I’m to be a pawn in your game? Don’t deny it, I heard my brothers speaking about how you plan to use Elena to get rid of your curse.”
Klaus’s expression hardened for a moment, the mask of his usual confidence slipping just enough to reveal the hurt beneath. He took a deep breath, his gaze intense as he met your eyes. “You think of me as nothing more than a manipulator, but there’s more to this than you realize.” Standing up, you watched as Klaus turned his back to you, in an attempt to hide his weaknesses.
“I didn’t plan for this to be a game,” he said quietly, his voice carrying a trace of regret. “My initial interest in you was strategic, but it evolved into something far more complicated. Yes, I need Elena to break the curse, but that doesn’t mean my feelings for you are any less real.”
“I don’t know what to believe,” you admitted, your voice trembling slightly. “Your actions are so contradictory. One moment, you’re this ruthless hybrid, and the next, you’re kind. I can’t make sense of it.”
“I understand your confusion. It’s easier for people to see me as a monster because it suits their narrative. But the truth is rarely that clear." You wanted to look at Klaus, so with much bravery, you stood up from the settee and walked toward him. His back tensed, yet you stood in front of him, his blue eyes darkened with a mixture of frustration and sadness.
"They call me a monster, a villain. And maybe I am those things. But I’m more than that. I’m someone who cares about the people I choose to let in." His hand hesitantly went to your cheek, and you couldn't help but lean into the touch.
"And you’ve…chosen me?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
A ghost of a smile touched Klaus’s lips. "Against my better judgment, yes. You’re unlike anyone I’ve ever met, and I’ve lived a long time."
The intensity in his eyes made your heart pound. You wanted to hate him, wanted to cling to the stories your brothers had fed you, but something had shifted. He wasn’t just some ancient monster; he was a man with desires, hopes, and wounds he kept hidden beneath layers of cold indifference.
"Then tell me," you challenged "Tell me the truth. Is there really a cure, or was this just some elaborate game to win me over?"
Klaus’s gaze darkened with an intensity that spoke of deep emotions. He took a moment, the silence stretching between you as if he was weighing his words carefully. “There is a cure,” he confessed, his voice grave and earnest. “And if you still want it, I’ll help you find it.”
You searched his eyes, looking for any hint of deception, but all you saw was an unfiltered sincerity that was both unsettling and reassuring. “And if I take it?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. “What then?”
Klaus’s expression grew somber, the lines on his face deepening with the weight of his emotions. “If you take it, you’ll be walking away from your brothers, this life…from me.”
The pain in his voice was palpable, but he didn’t try to mask it or push you towards any decision. There was no manipulation, no hidden agenda. It was a raw, honest confession from someone who had been playing a complex game but now laid his cards on the table.
You were taken aback by the contrast. If this had been Damon or Stefan, they would have tried to convince you to stay, to forget about the cure and remain by their side. They would have manipulated your feelings, used every trick they had to make you change your mind. But Klaus—Klaus was offering you the choice without trying to sway you. He was hurt, yes, but his respect for your autonomy was genuine.
“I… didn’t expect you to be so honest,” you said, your voice trembling slightly. “You’re willing to let me go, even if it means losing me?”
Klaus nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving yours. “I am. Because I understand what it means to desire something with every part of your being and to be willing to make sacrifices to achieve it. If the cure is what you truly want, then I will help you find it, even if it means saying goodbye.”
Klaus Mikaelson x Soulmate!Reader x Elijah Mikaelson Pt. 8
Word Count- 7.8k
Warnings- Swearing, violence, blood, unhealthy thoughts when it comes to pain
A/N- Klaus in Alaric’s body will be referenced as Klaric since it’s easier for me to remember and easier than putting, “Klaus in Alaric’s body,” 100 times lol. ALSO it was so uncomfortable to write Klaus in Ric’s body when he and the reader are interacting.  So good luck.
-3rd Person POV-
Katherine sat shaking in her chair as she watched Klaus, who was currently residing in Alaric’s body, riffle through Alaric’s closet. Katherrine’s fear was evident to both parties as she watched the man from a small distance.
“Ugh! Who is this guy? Safari Sam,” Klaric said disgustedly as he went through the dozens of flannel and khaki shirts.
Klaric sighs as he grabs two shirts from the rack and holds them up in front of the younger vampire, “Okay. Bad… Or badder?”
Katherine scowls as she answers him, “The dark colors suit you better.”
“Oh thank you, honey. Okay,” Klaric throws the dismissed shirt onto the bed and then begins to put on the dark one, “Pop quiz. The dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?”
“The dagger was used to kill Elijah. You’ll find him in the basement of the Salvatore house,” Katherine answers the question with about as much excitement as one can have in her situation.
“Okay, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is. The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah,” Klaric scoffs, “Oh, that guy’s a buzz kill.”
“Don’t forget you’re on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna.”
Klarics eyebrows raise and he nods along as if he actually cares, which he doesn’t, “Right. Elena’s aunt. For, uh, all the lies about Isobel. What else?”
“That’s it,” Katherine says but her breathing betrays her. Klaric takes a step forward and brings his hand up to brush a finger over her hair, resulting in a frightened jump from the latter.
“So jumpy,” Klaric’s mocking tone breaks the silence.
“Please,” Katherine’s voice comes out desperate, “Just kill me. I’ve told you everything I know.”
Klaric leans down to be eye to eye with the doppelganger, “See, I believe you believe that. But what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Anything? Tell me,” Klaric’s pupils enlarge as he compels the younger vampire.
“They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Orginal without a dagger.”
“Bonnie the best friend?”
Katherine nods as Klaric stands up and crosses his arms in annoyance, “I thought you said she didn’t have her powers anymore.”
“She doesn’t. Or didn’t. I don't know,” Kathrine tries to reason, “You kidnapped me, remember? I’m kind of out of the loop.”
“Well, we’ll have to get to the bottom of that,” Klaric glances down at Kathrine again, “Anything else I should know.”
Katherine appears to be fighting back her words but Klaric’s compulsion proves to be too strong, “There’s a girl.”
This perks Klaric’s interest as he gestures with his hand for Katherine to continue, “Oh please, do go on.”
“She’s a friend of Elena’s,” Klaric rolls his eyes at this statement getting bored of Katherine’s dodginess.
“Katerina, please tell me you aren’t wasting my time with the knowledge of a teenage girl who holds no means to my plan.”
Katherine opens and closes her mouth a few times before lowly biting out her words, “Elijah was quite fond of her. Before he was daggered.”
At this comment, Klaric’s eyebrows furrow, and a small smirk covers his lips, “You mean to tell me my older brother has a little crush on some teenage girl,” The amusement in his tone is evident.
Katherine shakes her head as if Klaric should understand better what she’s talking about, “No it’s not like that,” She frowns, “Well, at first I had thought so too, but it’s deeper than just some crush. From what I’ve heard and seen it’s not just some random bond between them. It’s something deeper, something supernatural. Elijah is overly protective of her and he looks at her like,” She pauses as if talking about this hurts her, “Like, she’s all there is.”
At Katherine’s last sentence, the smirk from Klaric’s face promptly drops and is replaced momentarily by a look of disbelief.
“You’re not suggesting what I think you’re suggesting,” Klaric’s tone darkens.
“I’m not one hundred percent sure, I mean I’ve only seen that kind of bond a handful of times in my entire life but,” Katherine sighs, “That’s the only possible explanation I can find for an Original vampire latching himself to a human girl like that.”
Klaric appears to be in thought for a moment as he processes Katherine’s words. Realizing that if the younger vampire were right, it would cause a slight hitch in his plans.
Katherine, taking Klarics silence as a threat speaks up hastily, “Please, just kill me, Klaus. Be done with it.”
Klaric turns around and frowns mockingly at her, pushing the new information he just learned into the back of his brain for the current moment, “And show you kindness? I’ve searched for you for over five hundred years. Your death… is going to last at least half that long.”
Katherine’s shoulders tighten as Klaric pulls a pocket knife out from his jeans and opens it, “I want you to take this knife…and stab yourself.”
Katherine slowly picks up the knife and without a second thought plunges the knife into her thigh.
“And while I’m gone, I want you to do that over and over and over again. And if you get bored,” Klaric smiles at her with nothing but malice, “switch legs.”
“Where are you going?”
“I’m gonna go lay eyes on my precious doppelganger,” Klaric thinks for a moment before smirking, “and maybe my future sister-in-law.”
Klaric presses a kiss to the top of Katherine’s head, “Oh, don’t look so glum, Katerina. The fun is just beginning.”
Y/N POV-
My hand shakily grips my shifter as I put my car into park. My hand continues to rest there as my vision goes in and out and my breathing rises as I stare at the Salvatore house in front of me. I can see Stefan and Damon sitting on the brick porch but I don’t seem to have caught their attention so that gives me a moment to collect myself. I try to calm my breathing, by doing deep breaths in and out, the longer I do this though, and prolong going into the boarding house, a coil of anxiety builds in my stomach. The last time I was here was days ago when Alaric killed Elijah.
“He’s only temporarily dead. As long as the dagger stays in his chest he won’t wake up.”
The information Elena had told me the morning after the dinner party bounced around in my head, just like it had since the first time I heard it.
-Flashback-
A sharp pain jolts me out of the comforting dream I was having. It was one I don’t remember ever having before and it felt more like a memory than anything else. I remember sitting on a rock overlooking a small glistening brook, the smell of forest air and wildflowers surrounded me. I remember feeling the warm sun caress my skin and then hearing footsteps beside me. A man, or who I believed was a man, I couldn’t tell since his face was blurred. It was like when you look at your reflection in water but then the current comes and causes ripples, distorting your reflection. When staring at his face I would think for a moment that I could place together some of his features but whenever I believed I got close, his face would ripple again.
 Thinking back to it I knew I should’ve been unnerved by the faceless man but I felt nothing but a certain kind of comfort. As if I was meeting an old friend that I had known longer than life itself. The man's blurred face would look back at me and from his staring I wondered if my face was just as blurry as his was and he was trying to decipher my features just as I was with him. I never found out though because right when he appeared as if he were to start speaking I was awoken by the pain in my chest.
“Hey, hey! You’re ok, everything is ok,” Elena’s comforting voice comes from beside me as I feel her pull me into a hug.
I shake her off and then look at her quizzically, the dull ache in my chest still present, “What happened? Why are you here?”
Elena’s face falls from a worried look to one of shame as she glances down at her hands.
“Elena?”
She sighs and looks back up to me, “How much of last night do you remember?”
At her question I frown and wonder what she could mean by that but then quickly memories of the dinner party and Elijah catapult through my mind. Elijah picking me up because of my flat tire, hearing him talk about Salem and the dead witches, him holding my hand, and…, “Oh God. Elijah! He died,” I know I shouldn’t care so much about a man I had just met but something in me shakes, “Alaric he killed him.”
Elena shakes her hands and head, “No! Well…I mean technically, yes, but not really.”
Elena must see the evident confusion on my face because she begins to retell everything that happened after I had passed out. From Alaric and Jenna taking me home, to Elijah waking back up and going after Elena, and then to Elena tricking Elijah and daggering him. Even though Elena’s my friend, when she told me that, anger rose throughout my body and I wanted to yell at her for what she had done. But from the guilty look on her face, I could tell she was already mad at herself.
“He’s only temporarily dead. As long as the dagger stays in his chest he won’t wake up,” Elena tells me, and a deep breath I didn’t realize I was holding escapes my lips.
“When I heard about you fainting I came here as soon as I could. I got here a few hours ago,” She motions to my bedroom door, “Your mom let me in. I’m really sorry you had to witness that Y/N, if I knew what Damon was up to I would’ve warned you not to go. But, when has Damon ever let any of us in on his master plans,” She tries to crack a joke but it doesn’t land.
“So Elijah isn’t dead?”
Elena shakes her head, “Nope, just temporarily.”
-End of Flashback-
Temporarily. Not dead dead. Well I mean technically he’s already dead but… never mind. A light knock on my car window makes me slightly jump, but I relax when I see Stefan standing there with a small comforting smile on his face. He slowly opens my car door, “Are you ok, Y/N?”
I want to tell him, “hell to the no,” and put my car in drive and never come back to this godforsaken house ever again, but I can’t do that to Stefan.
Days have passed since the dinner party and each one Stefan has somehow checked on me and my mental state. At first, it was him showing up at my house because I couldn’t get myself to go to school, but then when I finally did push myself to go he would somehow always find me in the hallways and walk with me to my classes, even those that we didn’t share. Some of those times Elena would join us, so I thought it was him just following her around but then when Elena wouldn’t show up at school or she was somewhere else he’d still walk with me. I wouldn’t admit it out loud, but it was kind of nice. I know it’s just pity but I began to look forward to our walks since we’d just talk about anything and nothing. I’d found that Stefan, unlike his brother, is quite personable when he’s not overtaken by his lust for blood. Which is something he admitted to me one day after school. I found it odd how someone who seems to be as moral as he is, can succumb to that kind of monster.
I want to slam my door and leave but instead, I send Stefan a small smile, turn my car off, and step out of my car. Even though I think he’s only being nice to me out of pity, I don’t really want to ruin any chance of messing up whatever “friendship” we have going on.
“Elena’s waiting for you inside,” Stefan smiles at me again as he leads me up the walkway to the stairs where the Demon is perched. I glare at him as he smirks devilishly at me as I walk up the stairs.
“How was your trip?”
Damon’s question has me shaking my head in annoyance, “What are you gabbing about, I didn’t take any trip.”
“I mean the trip you took to the floor,” He laughs to himself like he’s the funniest person alive, “You know when you fainted.”
“Go to hell, Damon.”
“Go to hell, Damon.”
Stefan and I echo each other as we both roll our eyes at the dark-haired vampire who just shrugs his shoulders, “Just playing around. It’s how Pukie and I’s friendship works.”
My lip curls up in disgust, “We don’t have a friendship.”
Damon fakes a gasp as he places his hand on his nonbeating heart, “You wound me.”
“Too bad not fatally,” I say under my breath but both vampires catch it, resulting in a small snort from Stefan and a scowl from Damon. The latter appears like he’s about to say something else but when the front door opens and a bald man who looks like he just walked off a Monopoly game board comes out, he stops.
Elena appears beside him and shakes his hand, “Thank you, Mr. Henry.”
Mr. Monopoly sends her a smile and then leaves. I walk with Damon and Stefan to the front door and as I walk through I hear them both halt. I turn around to see them both standing at the entryway of the door.
“Did I miss something? Who was the bald guy,” I question Elena who stands next to me and laughs at my question.
 “That was Mr. Henry. He just gave the deed to the house,” Elena smiles as she looks around the room as if she hadn’t been here a thousand times before.
“Wait. This house,” I point to the ceiling confused.
Elena nods, “Yep. Damon and Stefan signed over the house to me so no uninvited guests can enter without my approval.”
Oh. Vampires. Right.
“Oh, well that’s smart, I think. Must’ve been Stefan’s idea right?”
“You’re hilarious, Pukey,” Damon says with no amusement covering his face.
Stefan seems delighted though as his shoulders move up and down in laughter.
Elena turns to Stefan and smiles at him, “Stefan. Would you like to come inside my house?”
“I would love to. Thank you,” Stefan smiles at his girlfriend and comes to stand next to me as we watch Elena and Damon having a stare-down.
“What are we, twelve?”
“One of us is,” Elena’s jab has me snorting.
“If I let you in do you promise to obey the owner of this house?”
Damon face contorts in disgust as if that was the craziest thing hes ever heard, “No.”
“Seriously, Damon. My way. You promised. I call the shots. No lies, no secret agendas. Remember?”
“Yes, Elena. Sure.”
Elena looks like she’s about to invite him in but then she looks back at me momentarily and then back to Damon, “One more thing.”
Damon rolls his eyes, “Of course.”
“No more calling Y/N those nicknames. Stop being an ass.”
Damon looks at her for a moment before glancing at me and sending me a fake smile, “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
“Then please, come in.”
Damon walks through the threshold and by Elena and Stefan but when he passes me, he leans down slightly to whisper to me, “Always gotta cross your fingers, Pukey,” Damon raises his hand to show his middle finger crossed over his pointer finger.
“Ass.”
I follow the three into the living room but then notice Bonnie and send her a small smile, her face brightens as she sees me and sends me a friendly wave. Bonnie hands Elena her jacket who puts it into her bag.
“Wait,” Stefan interrupts, “Where are you going?”
“To school.”
“Huh?”
Damon chimes in, “No, no, no, we didn’t create a safe house for you to leave it.”
“Yeah, guys. Klaus is out there. We know that.”
“Right. But where? No one knows. Look. I really appreciate what you guys are doing. And I’ll be able to sleep at night knowing that I’ll be safe here but I’m not going to be a prisoner,” Elena stares at both the men and Stefan glances back to his brother.
“Your way, Elena.”
“Don’t worry, I’m ready. If he shows his face, I can take him. I know how,” Bonnie’s words send a sense of comfort through me. Always stay next to the all-powerful witch. Noted.
“The way I see it next to Bonnie is the safest place I can be.”
“Come on,” Elena gestures for us to follow her to our cars.
I wait at the door for a moment though, pretending to be grabbing my keys from my bag. Stefan walks past me and follows Elena and Bonnie. I turn to Damon who stands in the same spot and send him a small smirk as I bring my hand out of my bag and show him the singular finger I’m holding up.
Damon scoffs and rolls his eyes, “Real mature.”
“Later, Demon.”
The first-period bell rings as I quickly run to my seat next to Bonnie. I stopped for an iced tea and didn’t really know how long it would take me. So thankfully going ten miles over the speed limit the entire way got me here just in time. I turn and smile at Elena who is sitting behind me and Stefan who is sitting to her right. Elena brings up the paper in her hands and shows it to me and Stefan with a smirk. The paper is a flyer for the 60’s dance tonight and both Stefan and I share the same face as we both shake our heads at Elena. She just rolls her eyes and shows it to Bonnie who smirks even more than Elena and nods her head. I laugh slightly at my new friend and she leans over to me, “Caroline will kick your butt if you don’t come tonight.”
I debate it over for a moment if I’d rather spend two hours in a gym with sweaty teenagers or face the blonde wrath of Caroline Forbes.
“Yep, I’ll be there,” I say and hear Elena whisper-yell a small yay and Bonnie smirks triumphantly.
“Hello, class,” Ric’s voice has me turning to the front as he walks in. I frown though when I see his current apparel. Unlike before, where he usually opts for something casual, today something about him seems different. He almost looks kind of attractive. Wait. Ew, hell no.
Ric thumbs through the book he’s holding as he asks the class what we’re learning today, which I find quite odd since that’s kind of his job. Maybe he’s day drinking again?
“With the decade dance tonight we’ve been covering the ‘60s all week,” Dana’s voice has me inwardly groaning. Ever since I got to this school she’s been a total pain in my ass, always commenting on how I dress or how little I talk.
‘Right the ‘60s,” Ric turns to the class but stops for a moment. I follow his line of sight and frown as I watch him watch Elena closely for a moment before clearing his throat.
He turns back around to face the chalkboard, “The uh… The ‘60s wish there was something good I could say about the ‘60s but, they actually kind of sucked.”
I slightly snort at Ric’s jokes because honestly, he’s not wrong. I stop laughing though when I realize he heard me. I meet Ric’s eyes and I frown in confusion when his eyebrows furrow and his eyes search my entire face practically a hundred times over as if this is the first time he’s ever seen me. He watches me for another moment before he clears his throat and turns back to the board hastily. Well, that wasn’t weird at all.
“Um, ya. The uh, Beetle’s made it bearable,” Ric turns back around and faces the classroom his gaze finds me once more and I frown at him to which he darts his eyes away. Ya, definitely day drinking.
“Um, what else was there, The Cuban missile thing, the uh. We walked on the moon, there was Watergate.”
“Watergate was the seventies, Ric,” Elena corrects him stopping him from his pacing, “I mean, Mr. Saltzman.”
“Right, all kind of mushes together up here, the ‘60s, ‘70s. But thank you, Elena.”
The rest of the class goes on like this, Ric half-assedly teaching, or more like listing things that happened in the ‘60s. Thankfully after 45 minutes the bell rings and I go to follow my friends out of the classroom but stop as I glance at Ric who is wiping away the writing on the chalkboard. Elena, Bonnie, Stefan, and the rest of my classmates exit the classroom leaving just Ric and I. I don’t think he realizes I’m here as I walk up towards his desk.
“Uh, Ric?”
At the sound of my voice, Ric’s hand pauses on the chalkboard and for a moment I could’ve sworn I saw his grip tighten on the brush. I hear him release a breath before he turns to look at me. His face is remote from any emotion as he stares at me.
“Yes?”
His monotone voice has me slightly annoyed, “I just wanted to check if you were alright?”
My question has him slightly narrowing his eyes at me, “Why would you think something is wrong?”
I shrug my shoulders, “I don’t know you just seem a little out of it. I just wanted to make sure you were all right. I mean I heard about Jenna and I know it’s none of my business but-”
“You’re right, it is none of your business,” Ric’s harsh tone has me frowning as I look at him. The way he’s talking to me is almost like I’m talking to a complete stranger.
“Don’t you have a class to be going to, instead of bothering me?” I open my mouth to question why he’s being such an ass but these past few days I don’t really feel like I have any fight left in me at times. Right now being one of those.
“I’m sorry,” I say pulling my backpack closer to me as I begin to walk out the door, “I’ll make sure to not bother you again.”
The rest of the first half of school goes by slowly and I practically have to trudge my way into the cafeteria. Elena notices me and waves at me. I look over to the lunch line but can’t seem to find the appetite to eat so I slowly make my way over to Bonnie and Elena. I throw my bag on the table, lay my head on it, and close my eyes with a sigh.
“Long day,” Elena questions from beside me.
I just wordlessly nod.
“Aren’t you going to get lunch,” I hear Bonnie ask me, and I shake my head.
“Alright, wakey-wakey,” Elena uses her index finger to lift my head off my bag, “You need to eat, here,” She rips her sandwich and half, and I kind of find it gross her fingers are touching my share but the gesture is still sweet. She places the sandwich in my open hand and gestures for me to eat it. I stare at it for a moment then slowly bring it to my lips and take a minuscule bite.
“Yummm,” I say sarcastically which makes Bonnie giggle and Elena roll her eyes playfully.
We’re interrupted though when the she-devil appears, “Hey, Elena, there you are,” Dana’s squeaky voice fills my ears and I fight the urge not to throw my head back down on my bag, “Okay, this is gonna sound freaky but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight.”
I throw up a disgusted look as Elena laughs and Bonnies speaks up, “Tell him she has a boyfriend.”
“You could at least meet him. He’ll be at the dance tonight. Look for him. His name is Klaus.”
At the mention of Klaus, all three of us freeze up and a wave of nausea washes over me.
“I’m sorry, what did you just say?”
“His name’s Klaus? I know the name stupid but I swear he’s hot.”
I’m frozen as Bonnie starts questioning Dana for his whereabouts. Then Bonnie enlightens us by saying Dana’s been compelled.
“But he wants to know if you’ll save him the last dance. How cute is that?”
Oh shit.
I sigh as I approach the front door to the Salvatore’s for the second time today. Elena called me a little while ago saying they were meeting there to talk strategy about tonight. I told her we should just use the Salvatore’s vampire money and get the hell out of dodge, but she didn’t agree with me. So here we are. I shove open the wooden door and look at the five figures already standing in the living room. Bonnie and Elena stand to one side of the room, opposite the Salvatore’s, and Ric stands at the end of the entryway.
“Sorry I’m late,” I apologize to Elena as I come to stand next to Ric, “My brother needed to be dropped off at practice.”
“No worries, Ric just got here too,” Elena gestures to the man standing next to me and I slightly glare at him when I remember how he acted this morning. His eyebrows furrow slightly as he notices my unapproving look. I look away from him and walk down to sit on the sofa.
“What’s our plan of attack,” Elena questions the group. I actually don’t understand why I’m here. I mean when Klaus comes for Elena the most I can do is probably make fun of his split ends or something like that. Without being supernatural there’s not much to do here.
“Me,” Bonnie answers, “I’m the plan. He has no idea how much power I can channel. If you can find him. I can kill him.”
I fight the urge to say that this all could’ve been an email and I didn’t have to waste the gas money to get all the way over town since most of us don’t have generational wealth to fall back upon, but I fight my inner demons and stay quiet.
“That’s not going to be easy,” Ric chimes up, “I mean, he is the biggest baddest vampire around.”
“Kinda sounds like someone has a crush,” I snarkily whisper under my breath but I must not have been quiet enough since Ric’s eyes flash towards me and for a moment his upper lip twitches but then falls back into a flat line and he looks away.
“Alaric has a point. I mean, what if he,” I flinch backward as Damon is thrown across the room by Bonnie. I loud laugh escapes my lips and I slap my hand to my mouth to try to cover it.
“Well, I was impressed,” Stefan says amused.
“I personally think you should try it again,” I say to Bonnie, “Y’know just to make sure you really know how to do it.”
Bonnie smirks at my suggestion and I hear Damon swear at me under his breath.
“It doesn’t matter if he’s an Original. I can take down anyone who comes at me. I can kill him, Elena. I know I can.”
This really could’ve been an email.
Another dance. Alone. God I have no game.
I stare at myself in my hallway mirror and brush my fingers against the orange fabric of my dress. Because I didn’t plan on going to this dance, until this morning I didn’t have anything to wear, but after complaining about it to Stefan he dropped off one of his spares he had lying around in his attic about an hour ago. I don’t even want to know why he has a bunch of women’s dresses in different sizes in his attic. So I did not ask. And I don’t think I ever will.
“Alright let’s get this show on the road, the ladies are waiting for me,” Theo’s voice comes from the living room as he adjusts his tie. My younger brother is dressed in a suit and tie that seriously needs to be ironed.
“Where the hell did you even get that?”
At my question, Theo tenses up slightly, “It was in Dad’s things.”
At the mention of our father, we both go quiet, which is something Theo always seems to struggle with. I take a deep breath and shake my head away from the thoughts of him.
“Ok let’s go,” I try to fake a smile for Theo, “Wouldn’t want to leave your date waiting.”
Theo’s demeanor instantly changes as he smirks evilly, “Dates, plural my dear sister.”
I freeze and whip around to him and fight the urge to wring my little brother’s neck, “Please tell me you're not cheating on some poor girl.”
Theo raises his hands up, “Hell no, I’m a player, not a cheater! I’ve got morals,” He puts his hand on his heart as if I’ve insulted him, “These two girls asked me and I told them I can’t be held down by just one woman, so I told them I’d share myself for the night with them.”
I fight the urge to throw up on my brother, “How generous of you.”
Theo smirks at me as he opens the front door and gestures for me to exit, “You raised me right.”
Not even a minute after entering the gym, where the dance is being held, and Theo has already been swept away by his “dates.” God that kid is going to give me an early death.
I glance around the gym staring at the masses of students all laughing, dancing, and having a great time and I envy how carefree they all appear. I’m about to be struck by a tone of self-pity when that sharp pain from before has me gripping my chest. I hunch over in pain and try to work through it by doing stupid breathing exercises my mom taught me, but the pain only gets harder to bear. I take a few steps so I can lean against the nearest table, and close my eyes trying to wait out the pain. What if I’m having a heart attack? Oh god, can someone my age even have heart attacks?
“Y/N what’s wrong, what happened,” A frantic voice comes from beside me and I turn my head slightly and open my eyes to see Ric hunched over next to me. His emotionless features from before are long gone and replaced by what almost looks like fear. God, do I look that bad?
“My chest,” Is all I’m able to breathe out as I point to the center of my chest where the pain is coming from.
Alaric’s eyes go from my eyes to where I’m pointing and I could’ve sworn a look of realization flashed through them but it’s gone within a moment. Ric places his arm around my waist and he leads me to a nearby chair. He tells me to sit still for a moment and then he comes back with a glass of water.
I shake my head and scoff because I know a simple glass of water isn’t going to do anything but Ric’s face flashes with annoyance and he grabs my left hand with his and puts the cup in it. He wraps my fingers around the cup and lifts it to my lips, “Drink. Now.” I sigh and go to argue but he uses that to send the water down my throat. The cool liquid goes down my throat and I swallow it harshly. After a moment Ric brings the cup down from my lips. I go to bitch at him only to realize that the pain is gone. What the hell?
I begin to question if he added some supernatural magic juju to the water but he quickly drops my hand as if it were on fire, gives me a once over, and walks away without another word. What the actual hell?
I let out a loud laugh as I dance with Caroline who swings me around as a slow song plays on the speaker.
“Keep up girl,” Caroline squeals as we go around in circles. Even though the couples around us are all shooting us dirty looks, Caroline who saw me sitting by myself 20 minutes ago and has made me dance with her ever since, doesn’t seem to care. Matt who is supposed to be her date left us to go get drinks so it left Caroline and I to slow dance to some old song. And I mean we did start out slow dancing, she lead of course, but then we just kind of kept spinning around faster and faster. So here we are laughing our asses off as she practically flings me around the dance floor.
The song comes to a close and Caroline and I can’t stop laughing even as Dana takes the stage, “Hey everyone! I have a special shout-out to Elena, from Klaus.”
And no more laughing.
I look through the crowd and spot Elena, Jeremy, Bonnie, Damon, and Stefan all standing in a circle glancing around the gym. Thankfully Matt comes back and I bid Caroline and him a farewell for now, ignoring Caroline’s “WTF” look she shoots me.
Another slow song starts to play as I make my way through the crowd and fight a scream as I feel a hand grab mine and I’m pulled to someone's chest. I prepare for the worst but once I see who it is I just roll my eyes.
“Oh, it’s just you,” I say to Damon who smirks down at me.
“Someone’s jumpy,” I roll my eyes at him and go to walk away when he pulls me back, “Dance with me.”
“I’d rather jump off a cliff, thank you very much.”
“Y/N, one dance,” I turn to look at Damon and try to find any evil intent in his look but am surprised to find none.
“Why,” I question him skeptically.
Damon slowly pulls me into him, puts his hand on my lower back, and raises his other for me to take, I glare at him as I slowly place my hand in his and he slowly starts to sway me to the music.
“I’m only saying this because no one can overhear me, with the music playing,” I start to get frightened at what he’s about to say, “But, I’m sorry.”
Holy shit. Maybe I did have a heart attack and am hallucinating now because I could’ve sworn THE Damon Salvawhore was apologizing.
“What did you just say,” I ask amazed.
Damon just rolls his eyes and scoffs as he spins me around, “Don’t make it a big thing. And if you tell anyone I’ll deny it. But yes, I’m sorry.”
“For what? Calling me names?”
Damon shakes his head and makes a face as if that was a crazy suggestion, “No of course not. I will never give that up…I’m talking about the dinner party.”
At the mention of that night, I turn to stare at anywhere other than Damon, “I’ll always protect Elena and I don’t care who I have to kill to do that,” He pauses probably realizing his apology sucks ass, “But, I could’ve done it without you there. You didn’t need to see that. I know you and Elijah were friends or whatever,” I go to deny it but he stops me, “Don’t even try to deny it. I saw how you were with him. With everyone else, you’re more timid but with him,” He pauses, “I don’t know, you were just more comfortable, more you.”
Damon’s words hang in the air for a moment as we continue to sway to the music, “Does this mean…we’re friends now,” I look up to him with slight disgust and he sends me a smirk.
“No way in hell, Pukerella.”
“Oh, thank god,” I say with a breath of relief. At that Damon lets out a huff of a laugh and for a moment I think I can see past the angry vampire facade he has going on and it makes me wonder just what happened to make him this way. The song comes to an end though and Damon’s hands drop from my back and hand, he goes to walk away but I call out to him.
“Thank you for the apology,” Damon turns around and slightly nods, “You’re not that terrible for Hell’s gatekeeper.”
Damon’s deep laugh echoes through the gym as he walks away from me. And for a moment I let a small smile fall onto my face. That is until Elena comes rushing over to me with Bonnie in her grip.
“Y/N, come on,” And there goes the rest of the night I think to myself as I follow an angry Elena out of the high school and into the parking lot. Not quite sure why, but what the hell?
“How could you not tell me,” Elena questions Bonnie and I start to get even more confused, “No way, it’s not an option.”
“What’s not an option,” I chime in feeling like a little kid watching her parents argue.
Elena turns to me, “If Bonnie channels all that power to kill Klaus, it’ll kill her too.”
At this new information, my eyes pretty much fly out of my head, “Seriously?! Bonnie, what the hell?”
“It’s our only option.”
“Then we’ll find another way, okay? Bonnie you’re not dying to save my life.”
“I agree, this is a suicide mission, Bonnie.”
“I have the power to save you! If I don’t use it and something happens that would kill me more.”
Elena shakes her head in denial, “I can’t let you.”
“Just answer one question…If this situation was reversed would you do it for me?”
Elena goes quiet and Bonnies has her answer, “So you know why I have to.”
“No, No!” Elena’s voice cracks and I feel a tear slide down my cheek at the realization that I’m going to lose my new friend.
“Elena,” Alaric runs up to us and I quickly wipe away the loose tears.
“What is it?”
“He has Jeremy,” Ric’s words have all three of us shaken.
“Yeah, Klaus has Jeremy. Come on,” He hurriedly gestures for us to follow him. Without a second thought, we run through the metal door and into the school.
“Ok, so where are you taking us,” Elena hastily questions Alaric but as we run through the hall something in the back of my mind is telling me something isn’t right.
“Just a little further,” Ric says but something in his tone makes me halt.
“Wait,” My voice has all three of them stopping and I look wearily at Ric and he watches me carefully.
“Ric,” I pause and realize that I’m about to sound crazy for even questioning Alaric, the same Alaric who has been nothing but good to all of us kids, until today at least, “How did you know Klaus took Jeremy?”
Ric stares at me and for a moment his face looks like he’s almost proud of me for questioning him, but then he just shrugs his shoulders, “Stefan told me.”
He turns around and starts walking some more but Elena, Bonnie, and I don’t follow him. They must’ve caught on to what I was feeling since they started questioning Ric themselves.
“Where’s Jeremy,” Bonnie yells to Ric and a chill runs up my spine as he lets out a long sigh.
“I just had to get away from that dance. The ’60s, ugh. Not my decade. I mean whose call was that, anyway? I much prefer the ’20s. You know, the styles, the parties, the jazz.”
I watch unnerved as Ric speaks as if he has no care in the world.
“Alaric,” Elena calls to him, “Are you on vervain?”
With every step Ric takes towards us, we take one away from him.
“Now why would you ask me that question, Elena?”
Bonnie stands in front of both of us and Elena pushes me to stand behind her, “He's being compelled.”
“Nope! Try again,” When Ric says this my eyes start to water at the realization.
“That’s not Alaric,” I say which has “Alaric’’ sending me a satisfied look.
“I knew there must’ve been a reason he liked you,” “Alaric” almost bites out, “Well, except for the obvious reason.”
I frown at what he says, confused about what the hell he’s talking about.
“Who am I, Little one,” “Alaric,” asks me, and Bonnie and Elena look at me still confused.
“Klaus…You’re Klaus.”
“Bingo! Aren’t you a smart one!”
“No,” Elena shakes her head, “It’s not possible.”
“Just relax, Elena. I’m not here to hurt you. You’re not on my hit list tonight,” He shoots me a look, “Neither are you.”
Then he looks back to Bonnie, “But you are,” He runs towards Bonnie but she uses her powers to push him into a wall. I watch horrified as he gets back up.
“Now, did I mention that I know a witch? You’re gonna have to hit me a lot harder than that.”
Bonnie shoots him back again and just like before he gets back up, “By all means if you kill this body. I’ll just get a new one. Maybe Jeremy.”
Bonnie turns back to both of us and yells at us to go, all three of us sprint down the halls. Our heels squeaking on the newly washed floors. We run to the end of the hallway and Damon comes rushing towards us.
“What happened?”
Elena is the first to speak, “Klaus is in Alaric’s body.”
“What?”
“He’s possessing it. Or something.” What has my life come to?
Damon turns to Elena and I, “Go find Stefan, Now!”
We nod and Elena grabs my hand as we run through the halls to find Stefan.
We get to the gym and Elena and I frantically search around, we split up as we go to separate sides of the gym. How hard is it to find a bunny-eating vampire? Thankfully I get a glimpse of hero hair and I run up to him. At the sight of me, Stefan's eyebrows furrow, “What’s wrong?”
“No time to talk, teenage witch to save,” I grab his suit sleeve and drag him to where I see Elena talking with Caroline and Matt. Elena runs over to us and we drag Stefan out of the gym.
We begin running but my breathing starts to get heavier and heavier, making me stop and clutch my chest. Not this again. Please not now!
“Y/N what’s wrong?”
Elena comes to my side but I push her away, “I’m fine you need to go help Bonnie,” She shares a look with Stefan who doesn’t look convinced that I’m ok.
“Go!”
They both nod and then take off. Once they turn the corner and are out of sight I drop to the floor and lean my back against the lockers. I fight back a cry as waves of pain wash through my entire body. Where before it was just my chest, now it feels like my entire body is breaking.
Tears stream down my cheeks as a sharp pain hits my knee and a scream escapes my lips. I look down at it expecting it to be broken but visually nothing seems wrong. What the fuck is happening to me?!
After what feels like an hour I hear footsteps come down the hallway. With tear-stricken eyes, I glance up and see Stefan practically carrying a sobbing Elena. The latter practically dives for me once she sees I haven’t left my spot on the floor. I’m about to push her off since her body is pressing into my throbbing knee but what she sobs into my ear has me stopping.
“She’s dead! Bonnie’s dead,” Elena's shoulders shake as she pulls me tighter into a hug. My gaze looks up to Stefan who won’t meet my eyes and that’s all the confirmation I need for a sob to escape from my mouth. I wrap my sore arms around Elena and feed into the pain since it’s the only thing grounding me from processing what has happened.
Elena and I sit wrapped in a blanket as we watch the fireplace in front of us. Elena’s sniffles are the only noise heard in the room. My crying stopped about 30 minutes ago and all I’ve been doing since is staring blankly at the orange flames.
Stefan enters the room with two cups and he holds them out for us to take. Elena tells him she can’t, but I don’t even move my eyes from the fire. I can’t. I don’t want to drink whatever soothing tea he has, I want to watch something burn. Or someone, Klaus. I want to watch Klaus burn.
From behind me I can hear the front door open and can only assume it’s Damon. I can hear Elena get up and start arguing with him but I don’t turn from my seat. The sound of a slap jolts me slightly from my stupor and I find myself turning slightly to hear better, but never fully taking my eyes away from the flames.
“You need to listen to me and prepare for what I’m about to say. Klaus was a total surprise. She wasn’t prepared for that. And he wasn’t going to stop and we weren’t going to be able to stop him until he knew she was dead. He had to believe it. She cast a spell. Bonnie’s okay.”
Bonnie’s okay. Bonnie’s okay. Bonnie’s okay.
Damon’s words repeat in my mind as Elena and I sit in front of the laptop screen waiting. After another moment Bonnie’s face enters the frame and she smiles at us with tears in her eyes.
“Elena, Y/n, I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay, it’s okay,” Elena says with tears of her own and I smile at Bonnie.
“There wasn’t enough time to tell you,” Bonnie says with sobs that make my chest cave in.
“It’s okay, seriously. Damon explained it all.”
The call ends shortly and Elena smiles at me happily, as she throws her arms over my shoulder and once again pulls me into a hug.
“She’s okay,” Her happy words should fill me up with feelings of bliss but as my gaze moves towards the dying embers the only feeling I have is anger.
“you’re so beautiful,”
you hate that. you hate his words. you hate how they make you feel. you hate how his words still make blood rush to your cheeks.
you hate yourself right now.
you hate how you’re doing the exact thing you promised yourself you will never do.
what you were doing was so so wrong.
but it felt so right.
his lips on your skin felt so right. his hands exploring your body felt so right. his cold rings against your warm skin felt so right. him sucking hickeys on your neck felt so right.
but it wasn’t.
you are engaged, he is in a relationship.
heck, your wedding is next week.
but here you are. letting your ex-boyfriend use your body. just like he used to all those years ago.
you’ve moved on. you love your fiancé so much but…seeing him again after so many years did something to you.
you let yourself fall weak. you let yourself believe his sweet sweet lies. you let yourself break the promise you made.
you regret it so much already.
but it feels too good to stop now.
you know by the time the sun comes up, he’ll be gone and you’ll be left alone once again feeling disgusted with yourself.
you know you won’t be able to look your fiancé in the eye after tonight.
but it’s okay.
it’s okay because he’s here right now and even if it’s just for the night, he’s yours.
Jealousy Doesn't Suit You <> Damon Salvatore
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not sure if this is how I wanted this to turn out or not. My writing isn't how it used to be, but I hope y'all enjoy it anyways.
Request: The reader and Damon could be playing hard to get and is too stubborn to admit they both fancy and love each other so one day the reader flirts with a guy knowing that it’ll really make Damon annoyed and he gets all jealous. But maybe one night Damon cooks the reader a romantic dinner and tells her he’s been in love with her since the first time they locked eyes on each other.
~ ~ ~ ~
When Damon wants something, he gets it. However, with you, it’s easier said than done. He was so in love with you, but that was the last thing he would admit to you, let alone anyone else.
This week had been a disaster. Your constant attempts at getting Damon’s attention have all failed miserably. You would never admit to liking him. Okay, that was an understatement. You had a fiery passion for this man, but that’s not something you would openly tell someone as news around this town travels quite fast.
So now, you were drowning out your sorrows at Mystic Grill, sparking up conversations with Matt as he was working the bar this evening. When he wasn’t serving other customers, he was cleaning glasses and talking to you.
“What’s gotcha down, (Y/Nickname)?” Matt asks, using your favorite nickname that only your closest friends use, as he leans forward on the counter across from you.
“Oh, nothing,” You answer, leaning your head on your fist, your arm bent across the bar. You held a toothpick between your fingers as you traced random lines and shapes around the wood. “Just the usual. Work, mostly, among other things.” You shrugged, continuing your invisible art.
You always thought Matt, as one of your best friends, had this intuition, as if he knew almost if not everything about you. What you didn’t know was that he knew the one thing that you hadn’t told a single person, the one thing you didn’t want anyone to know. And, although he didn’t like the certain fact, he vowed to always be there for you, despite the situations you refused to tell him or anyone else about.
That’s why when he glances over at the door to see Damon waltzing in, Matt continued to keep up the conversation, keeping his eyes on the man that stole your heart without even knowing.
Damon immediately spotted you at the bar, his brain sensing your presence the second he walked in. He noticed a melancholic expression adorned your face as he made his way over to his usual booth in the corner. Damon didn’t show his emotions on the outside, but whenever he saw you, his emotions went wild on the inside. He wanted to know what made you so sad. He wanted to comfort you. When it came to you, every part of him that anyone has ever known is thrown out the window, replaced by a sweet, kindhearted man who wants to love and be loved by you.
“Can I get you something to drink? Maybe (your favorite cocktail), your favorite?” Matt smiled your way, making your eyes flick to his, a smile crawling onto your lips. Somehow, you came here not wanting to be home alone doing nothing, just wanting to be out and about, and thought you’d see if Matt was working. So, when you came into Mystic Grill, you didn’t even think about drinking oddly enough, only looking for some friendly convo with your friend.
Matt’s suggestion pulled a laugh out of you, it coming out louder than you intended, but you didn’t care. “Oh, Matt, my friend, you know me so well,” You smiled sheepishly, getting one in return from him.
You spin around in your bar stool, facing the restaurant to people-watch as Matt made your drink, only to be met with the piercing blue eyes of the one and only Damon Salvatore. Of course, he would be here. How had you not even noticed until now?
Your smile falls and you panic as you quickly spin back around to face the bar, your cheeks burning, most likely red as rubies. Just then, Matt slides your drink in front of you, pulling your attention to him. You meet his eyes and he already had a knowing look on his face. How did he know? You thought questioningly. Matt offered you a smile and a wink, and you decided to take matters into your own hands.
Damon’s POV
Watching Y/N with Matt, or any other guy for that matter, is torture. I should be the one to make her smile, to make her laugh, to make her feel anything at all. But, no. With Y/N, I’m a coward. I’m usually so confident, but with her, I can’t control myself. Why can’t I just go up to her and tell her how I feel?
Because I’m not that kind of person. I can’t outwardly express my feelings. I don’t deserve her anyway. I can’t be the guy she deserves. But watching her laugh like that with someone who isn’t me makes my blood go cold. I can’t do this anymore. I’ve always been selfish. And if being selfish is what it takes to have her in my life the way I want, that’s how it’s going to be. And I know exactly how to make it happen.
I stand and rush out of the grill, just barely missing what seemed to be a longing glance from Y/N as I storm out, her eyes glued to my retreating back. I pass by Stefan and Enzo on my way out. I was supposed to meet them, but the matter at hand is much more important. I speed home to get everything prepared.
* * *
I’d say Y/N knows me better than I know myself. We’re inseparable and that’s why I can’t hold back anymore. I can’t handle not being able to hold her and kiss her and just show the world how much I love this woman.
Damon: I need you to come over. It’s an emergency…
Y/N: What? Why? What’s going on? Is everything okay? Are you okay?
That’s a big reason why I love her so much. Always making sure everyone is alright, doing everything in her power to fix things and make everything okay.
Damon: No, questions. Just get here as soon as possible.
Y/N isn’t a vampire. She’s so purely human that it makes me love her more. But, that’s also why I’m so surprised by how fast she got here despite not being able to run at an inhumane speed like me.
“Damon!” She screamed through the house. I didn’t answer back, just waiting for her to find me in the kitchen. “Hello?” She called out again.
When she did finally reach the kitchen, skidding to a halt, she seemed out of breath, naturally, and panicked, as she did at the bar, but different. Her cheeks were flustered as her eyes widened and she made her way towards me quickly.
“Damon, what’s going on? What’s the emergency?” She attempted to catch her breath as she looked around at the large kitchen island that was covered in the ingredients of her favorite dinner. She may know me better than I know myself, but I also know every little thing about her.
“Oh, nothing. I just wanted you to get here as fast as possible. Great timing by the way. Dinner’s almost ready,” I said in my normal nonchalant tone, turning to the oven to take out the main course. When I turned around, however, Y/N did not look happy. Stunned, maybe, her eyes still wide in disbelief as she stared at me. I froze in my tracks, staring right back into her beautiful blue eyes. That’s when I noticed what she was wearing. She’d changed from what she had on at the bar. It looked like she had gone home to get comfy and relax in her black lace cropped tank top and matching pj shorts. I couldn’t help but glance down at the stretch of tummy she was showing off. I couldn’t get enough of it, I couldn’t hold back a small smile, hoping she wouldn’t notice.
She had thrown on a jacket and boots (as it was Winter), and she didn’t waste a second getting here. A twinge of guilt ran through me, but the selfish part of me was just glad she was here and looking gorgeous in spite of the casual attire.
“Damon Guiseppe Salvatore!” Y/N started as she made her way toward me, stopping as she leaned toward me against the island. “What the hell is wrong with you?! You think it’s okay to just tell me there’s an emergency when there isn’t? To tell me to get here as fast as possible without a single reason?” She finished, her eyes burning with anger. I could see another emotion in there, but I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was.
“I did have a reason. I want to cook you dinner, that’s what I’m doing, and I wanted you to get here ‘cause I cook fast.” I shrugged as if it was obvious, getting back to the last of the food.
“Damon…” She sighed in exasperation. The guilt was getting stronger the more negative emotion she showed, although I tried to ignore it. “You can’t… you can’t just…” I looked up after hearing her hesitation to see her eyes getting red and tears building up before they spilled over all together. The anger washed away as something completely different took over. She held her hand up to her throat, leaning down against the counter, attempting to hold herself up. I dropped what I was holding, not caring what it was, and sped over to her, pulling her upright and holding her against me. Every wall I’ve ever built came crashing down, and it was all for her. I held her close as she cried into my chest.
“Baby, why are you crying?” The nickname just slipped out, and if she noticed, she didn’t let it show. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know it would affect you like this.” She pulled away, something that looked almost like hurt evident in her eyes.
“Damon, you know how I am,” Her voice didn’t sound as angry, but there was still a lot of emotion in her tone. “You tell me something’s wrong and I’m there within minutes. It doesn’t matter what it is. But you go and do this, especially after the week I’ve had. But, of course, you wouldn’t notice. No one ever does. No one ever notices the sadness, the depression, the anxiety. Why do I even try? Why-?” I couldn’t let her go on like this anymore. I leaned forward, taking her in my arms, and captured her lips with mine in the most passionate kiss, the one I’ve been waiting for since I first met her.
I pulled away, holding her face in my hands, her hands latched onto my wrists. “I notice everything,” I begin, my tone firm as I stare intently into her eyes. “I notice every little thing about you because I love you!”
She gasped, her eyes that were frozen to mine widening in shock. “What?” She was barely able to let out a whisper of a word.
“How could you not see it? Every time we went out, I would notice your nervous ticks. I would notice how you tried to hide it with a smile so no one else would see. I would take your hands, calming you down. Every time you came here looking all sad and broken, I could see the tears and I would talk to you. Every time you had one too many drinks or you were just so tired that you couldn’t stand on your own two feet, I was there to help you and take care of you. And I do it all because I love you. I love you so much, Y/N, and I have since the moment I laid eyes on you. And I hate that I haven’t told you ‘til now, but I thought you’d be better off without me. I know you deserve better than me, but I’m too selfish to stay away. So, I’m taking you and I’m making you mine.” I stared into her ocean eyes, trying to gauge a reaction, an emotion, anything, but came up empty.
Until she stood on her toes and pressed her lips to mine and I welcomed them with all the emotion that I had built up for her. I bent down so she didn’t have to reach up anymore, her hand reaching up to curl around the back of my neck. I wrapped my arms around her waist, holding her tight against me as she arched her back to mold her body with mine, and she fit perfectly.
“It’s about time.” I chuckled at her words, almost missing her lips. “Ya know, jealousy doesn’t suit you,” She giggled, her face just centimeters from mine. I groaned, leaning my forehead against her, my thumbs brushing over her bare waist.
“Oh, darling, I can’t tell you how much I wanted to punch every single guy that touched you, let alone those who even looked at you. You’re mine and if anyone else sets a finger on you, I-” She interrupted me by placing her finger against my lips, hers turning into a sly smile.
“You have no idea how long I’ve waited for you, my love. You have nothing to worry about. I am yours and I love you.” She admitted sheepishly, her cheeks turning red. I’ve always loved making her blush, even when she didn’t notice it happening. “But I will get you back for what you did. You just wait,” She tried to be menacing as she fisted my shirt in her hand. I found it quite adorable. I just smiled mischievously, leaning down and picking her up in my arms, her legs wrapping around my waist as I take her lips in mine once again. Oh, how I’ve longed for this magnificent woman.
Bad Day
Fandom: The Vampire Diaries
Pairing: Damon Salvatore x Plus size! Reader
Warnings: None
Description: You’re having a very bad day when Damon Salvatore decides to make it worse, but then maybe he also makes it much better.
Tumblr media
It was one of those fucking days.
You know those days when everything just goes completely, spectacularly wrong?
You shouldn’t have even been surprised. Once you’d woken up and your favorite sweater had had cat puke on it, you should have given up there. But no - you just had to power through and continue your day.
You got a call right after breakfast that your car payment hadn’t gone through, and now you’d have to pay a late fee you couldn’t afford. While running errands, you’d managed to knock over your Starbucks in the middle of the aisle of Target, forcing you to have to buy another coffee. And once back home, you were greeted with a passive aggressive note from your neighboring apartment asking you to close your door “just a tad quieter”.
By the time you had to get ready for work, your ‘fucks to give’ meter was dangerously low.
You quickly tossed on your uniform shirt and broke several traffic laws driving to the Grill, because of course you were late. At a red light, you tossed your messy Y/H/C hair into a ponytail, griping at your reflection as some asshole in a sports car cut you off. Really? Who the hell drove sports cars in Mystic Falls? You’d only ever seen one person do that, and that was Damon Salvatore.
You scanned the license plate. Then you squinted to see inside the drivers seat and swore loudly. Damon fucking Salvatore. And he waggled his pale fingers at you before peeling off at top speed.
He was there at the Grill when you finally clocked in, tossing apologies at your manager and ignoring Matt’s teasing grins as you settled behind the bar and counted up your liquor. The day bartender threw you a goodbye and a sympathetic look.
Once finished your count, you sauntered over to Damon, who was enjoying a scotch on the rocks with a self righteous grin on his face.
“You cut me off.” you said, placing your hands on the bar.
He shrugged. “Did I?”
Damon had been drinking at the bar of the Grill long before you worked there, but somehow after you started you felt as if he was suddenly there all the time. You’d had an easy relationship at first, due to your infamiliarity. He was a flirt, you were determined to make good money. You flirt with Damon, he gives you a twenty on top of his tab. That was how it had always been for you, and for the other bartenders before you.
But something had changed, and you remembered the day that it did almost as well as you remembered Damon’s drink order.
It had been a slow night, with only Damon and his buddy Alaric holding down the fort. Most of the other drink orders came from tables, and those were practically empty too. You elected to pass the time with Damon and Ric, talking about nothing and everything. That quickly nosedived into a pissing contest between the two men and which one could do a handstand when you mentioned offhand that you were able to perform a fancy little trick, and that had been your downfall.
“There’s no way!” Ric was crying, his words slurring out of the side of his mouth. “You prove it right now.”
You folded your arms across your chest and shrugged, your grin too confident. Damon’s eyes were laser focused, and he took a long drag of his scotch, watching you intently.
“Don’t tease us…”he said finally.
You sighed, and cursed yourself.
Normally, you wouldn’t mind showing this particular party trick off for customers. It happened sometimes on raucous nights, when people were coming from or on their way to parties, looking to boost their mood and spend their money. It felt good to do it and see the looks of awe on their faces, sometimes even lust.
But you were feeling very self conscious at the prospect of doing it for Damon Salvatore.
You couldn’t deny he was attractive. His face, yeah, but his swagger was practically debilitating. He had the confidence of a much older man, which was funny considering you were the same age. There weren’t guys your age acting like him, of that you were sure.
It fueled your desire toward him as much as your flirtatious little routine did.
But Damon was always on the arm of the skinniest, hottest girl in the room. He’d chased after Elena Gilbert for a while, and she was less than half your size. There was no way his flirting had anything more to do with you than you wished. He liked to have fun, plain and simple.
Ric was slamming his fists on the table now, demanding you not to leave them hanging.
You mustered up all your courage - they knew what you looked like, you thought. They were asking you to do it.
So you lifted yourself up onto the bar in a much more fluid motion than you might have ever expected from yourself, and in one easy rotation you were doing a handstand.
You could feel the fabric of your shirt rising up, but you ignored it. You carefully started placing the majority of your weight on your left hand.
You could hear Ric and a few customers oohinh and aahing at you, and it spurred you on. You lifted your right hand into the air, and separated your legs a bit. And then you were doing a handstand on one hand.
You held the pose as Ric hollered and cheered, and then easily flipped backwards and onto your feet again before jumping back behind the bar, standing once more on your own two feet.
“Am I drunk or did I just witness cirque de soleil?” Ric asked.
“You’re drunk.” You told him, as you wiped off the spot on the bar where your feet had been. “But you did witness something pretty cool.”
Your eyes flitted over to Damon, curious to see if he had any kind of reaction. What you saw stopped you in your tracks.
His eyes were dark - darker than you’d ever seen them. There was something hungry in their expression, like you were dessert and he had saved plenty of room. His lips were covered by his tongue as it slowly lapped over it, before he closed his mouth and swallowed.
“Let’s do a shot.” Damon decided, reaching out and placing his hand on top of yours. “I’m buying.”
“Shots!” Ric called, and you internally groaned. He definitely did not need another one.
But you were glued into Damon’s atmosphere, and you watched as his thumb stroked along your hand. “You want me to do a shot?” you asked.
“That was hard work you did up there.” He encouraged. “You must be thirsty.”
You flushed, hoping Ric couldn’t see the effect he was having on you. When you glanced over, he was exclaiming happily as a Bruce Springsteen song came on, completely ignoring you. Your blush must have been crimson, and your cheeks felt as if they were on fire.
Damon’s thumb was still marking its path on your skin. You needed to get away fast.
“I’ll get those shots.”
“Sounds good.” Damon said.
“I’ll need my hand to pour them.”
He let out a sound of displeasure, but withdrew his hand from yours and you robotically turned away, pouring three shots of Bulleit bourbon. If your hand was shaking and you spilled one, that was between you and the security camera.
You, Ric and Damon cheersed, tapping your glasses on the bar top before throwing the alcohol back. Ric sputtered and coughed, and you giggled as he tried to compose himself.
“Well that’s me!” he said, standing up and lurching dangerously to the left. “I’m tapping out.” He went to put his card down, but as usual Damon stopped him. He started waving his card in your direction, but you made no move to grab it.
“I don’t even bother running you up a tab anymore. Damon’s always got it covered.” You admired that about Damon. A lot of people thought of him as kind of shitty, but you knew better. He was loaded, and he always spent the majority of that money on other people. Even after Elena had rejected him for good, he still came in and covered her tab from time to time. He’d done it for all of their friends. He’d even done it for Matt - despite their apparently rocky history.
Ric sighed in defeat. “Me and my teacher’s salary are very thankful.”
Once Ric had left, it was you and Damon. Alone.
Never before had you felt so nervous serving him by yourself. Whatever you’d seen in his eyes after your little show had altered the atmosphere between the two of you. It thrilled you and scared you all at once.
“How come you never told me you were so flexible?” Damon asked, as you cleaned Ric’s empty glasses. He hadn’t taken his eyes off you, and you were avoiding meeting his gaze like the plague.
You shrugged. “I didn’t realize you had any interest in my level of flexibility.”
“If it’s about you, I’m interested.”
Since when did he say things like that to you? God, and if his words didn’t just send shockwaves straight to your core. Had you stepped into an alternate reality where Damon Salvatore was horny for you? No, that couldn’t be right. He was a flirt, and he was probably still heartbroken over Elena picking his brother.
“Damon.” you said finally, meeting his eyes. “I’m not sleeping with you.”
He frowned. “And why not?”
You gave him a knowing look. “I know you.” He was looking for a rebound, and you wanted more than that.
His frown deepened, and within a few moments Damon had gone from sad to furious. There was something working beneath the surface, and he looked….hurt.
“Well, fuck you very much.”
He stalked out of the bar, and your jaw was on the floor. Never did you ever expect Damon to get mad when rejected. How many girls had said no or called him names or even slapped him while you’d watched, bemused, from your side of the bar? And every time he’d smiled or shaken his head. He’d thought it was funny. So what made you different?
The next time you’d seen him, he’d asked for a drink and didn’t say a word to you other than a hi, bye or check, please.
And then this morning he’d cut you off, as if he somehow knew you were having a shit day and wanted to make it even fucking worse, as only Damon Salvatore could do.
Which sucked, because you’d spent weeks wishing that he would man up and talk to you, and explain why he’d been so hurt that day. You’d spent weeks wanting to have Damon back, cracking jokes and flirting with you and being your best customer.
So you confronted him. It was going to be another slow night, and you more than had the time.
“You cut me off. And you did it on purpose.”
This got his attention. He looked up from his drink, his nostrils flaring.
“I cut you off because you’re not a very good driver.”
You rolled your eyes. “Oh, come on! I wasn’t even moving!”
“And yet, your inexperience was glaringly evident.” He downed the last of his scotch and shoved the glass toward you. “And I’ll take another whenever you’re ready to work.”
Oh, he had another thing coming if he thought he was going to speak to you like that! You clicked your tongue against the roof of your mouth and moved quickly to pour him a shot - you were on the clock after all, even though you’d much rather leave him hanging - but not the top shelf he was used to. Oh no, you were pouring him the cheap stuff.
You slammed the glass in front of him and slid it over, glaring. He gave as much as he got, giving you a wicked little smile before taking a sip.
And promptly spitting it out.
“What the fuck is that?” He asked, rising to his feet. He grabbed a handful of cocktail napkins and dabbed at what he’d spilled onto his shirt, but the damage was done.
“Oh, sorry, were you looking for something specific? Unless you specify, we typically just give customers the rail.”
You had no issue being bitchy bartender tonight. In fact, it was kind of fun to dish it out. And he deserved it for being a jerk.
“What the hell is your problem?” He yelled. “I cut you off. It happens. I’m kind of an asshole sometimes.”
You groaned in frustration. “What about the whole silent treatment for three weeks? I tell you I don’t want to sleep with you and you act like a child!”
He bristled violently at that, and then looked around for a moment. You weren’t really sure what he was doing until he grabbed Matt by the scruff of his neck and brought him around to your side of the bar.
“Y/N needs a fiver. You’ve got this covered, right?”
Matt sighed, but started cleaning pint glasses. You were about to protest when Damon began dragging you off, and Matt smiled apologetically.
“Just go with it! It’ll be a lot easier!” He tells you, and then he’s gone and you’re being dragged through the back of house and out the back door.
Once outside, Damon released his grip on your arm.
“What the hell are you doing?” You ask, incredulous. “I’ll get written up if I’m gone too long.”
“Look.” Damon says, ignoring your pleas. “You…you hurt my feelings that day, ok? You said something kind of mean, or implied it at least. But…I shouldn’t have handled it like that. I’m working on that stuff.”
“Mean?” You asked. “What did I say that was mean?”
He sighs. “Do I have to spell it out?”
You nodded. “All caps, double spaced, please.”
He laughed despite himself. “You basically implied that I am some womanizing creep that wanted to use you for your body.”
You blinked. And then blinked again.
“Ok, two things… the first: are you NOT a womanizing creep that uses women for their bodies?”
He raised his eyebrows, and his head tilted in thought. “Ok fair point.”
“And the second: that’s not what I meant at ALL.”
He brought a finger up to his mouth and placed the tip on his lower lip. “……you didn’t?”
“No. Damon, what I was trying to say was that I’m not your type, and that you probably just wanted me for a night because you were drunk. Which is great and fine, but that’s just not what I’m looking for. I want a relationship.”
There was confusion in his too-blue eyes, and he took a step toward you, entering your personal space.
“What do you mean you’re not my type?”
Oh lord, this was exactly what you didn’t want to talk about right now. You blew out a steadying breath, choosing your words carefully.
“The girls you date are usually of the same variety….both in looks and in size. So I just figured I wasn’t really your type.”
Damon’s entire face changed. Gone was the confusion and the mock anger, replaced with a quiet rage. He flexed his knuckles, and you involuntarily stepped back. He kind of looked pissed.
“You think I didn’t want to sleep with you because you’re not skinny?”
You struggled to get words out. “I mean, yes? In a way…”
“Are you fucking stupid?”
Did he really want an answer to that? Based on the dangerous look in his eyes, it was probably in your best interest to stay quiet.
He was now fully in your space, standing with you toe to toe. His arms were crossed over his chest, which was absolutely heaving. He was very, very angry and it was kind of turning you on.
“I have been throwing hints at you since the moment you started working here. I tip you double the amount I tip anyone else, I always call you pet names, I’m constantly flirting with you…and you really thought I just wanted one random night of fun because you were warm and available?”
His words were like shockwaves to your system. Now that you were faced with it, you realized that no other bartender had ever said anything good about Damon’s tips. Anytime you were switching shifts, he never called anyone else “darling” or “sweetheart”. He flirted, sure, but you were always different….
“Oh my god….” You said quietly. “Oh my god, I didn’t even realize…”
His hands were on your hips, and your senses were assaulted by him. He smelled good, clean with a hint of spice. His eyes were making you melt with the heat of his gaze. His fingers, too, worked over your skin in delicate little circles, and you knew that given the chance those fingers would drive you wild.
“I do want to sleep with you.” He says, and you sigh but he places a finger on your lips, shushing you.
“I do, and I’m not afraid to say it. I got…overwhelmed when you did that sexy little handstand, and I moved too fast. But what I really want is to take you on a date.”
You tentatively wrapped your arms around his neck, your forehead resting against his. “Yeah?” You ask.
“Yeah.” He breathes.
You don’t answer, just press your lips against his and let yourself drown in him. His lips are like brands against yours, and you can imagine steam coming off you both as your mouths battle for dominance, slotting and slanting over each other again and again until you’re breathless.
“Ok, but if you bring me here for our date there will be actual hell to p-“
He cut you off with another searing kiss. A promise.
So maybe it wasn’t such a bad day after all.
Tumblr media
You woke up to the soft sound of Matt, your partner breathing deep while sleeping. Last night was a great night and it only marked the start of your journey to conquer the town of Mystic Falls.
You turned to him and gave him a kiss on the forehead.
“Sleep tight, baby” you whispered as you got up and left.
Last night was amazing but you wanted more. You craved attention, affection and desire. Your lust for men is growing and there’s only one thing to do. Claim someone new.
You walk around the town all day watching the townsmen and finding your next person to fuck. No one yet.
The sun set and there was still no one. You could always come back home to Matt, but you want to suprise him, give him someone for when you are away. Someone for you both to play with.
“Ahhhhh” you hear someone scream in the woods. There is a party going on so you assume it’s just a girl having fun. But then you smell blood.
A snack. You think. You zoom over to the woods and find the girl. You notice her from photos in Matts… your house. It’s Matts sister?
You crouch over her body bleeding out. “There’s another vampire in town?” You question. “Awww, what a shame. We can’t let you die, yet”
You get out your phone and call for a paramedic. While waiting there you touch your hands to her bite marks and get some of her blood on you. You then suck your fingers and enjoy the taste of her blood.
SNAP. You hear a twig snap and you get up and turn towards the source. What was once empty space was now a figure in leather. You can’t quite make out who it is.
“I thought that me and my brother were the only bloodsuckers in town.” The figure said. “We can’t let people knowing I’m here, let’s change that.”
With that, the figure picked up a piece of wood and zoomed over to you. You’ve been around thousands of years and nothing catches you off guard. He struggles to impale you in your heart but this is nothing for you, he was strong but but strong enough for you.
With him this close to you, you can see him clearer. He had smooth pale skin and shaggy dark hair. You could smell alcohol on his breath, what’s that? Bourbon.
“You’re strong” he exclaimed. You smiled, enjoying his struggle to hurt you. He will only hurt you when you allow him.
Even though this mysterious man was a vampire, you are the first vampire. An elite type of vampire. The sun does not hurt you. You can compel even the strongest of minds even witches. With this knowledge you look at him in the eyes and start to speak.
“Stop what you are doing. Don’t move. Don’t make a sound. Answer each question truthfully.”
His grip on the piece of wood dropped and so did his grip on you. He stepped back a little to allow you space to move. You circled around him with him staying completely still.
“Who are you?”
“Damon Salvatore” he replied
“How many vampires are there in this town?”
“Just me and my younger brother”
“What are you doing in this town?”
“I am trying to get a vampire named Katherine out of a tomb she in trapped in. And my brother is infatuated with a student who looks just like her”
Interesting. This Damon guy is still frozen you think. And that small drop of the girls blood beside you was not enough.
You stand behind Damon and tilt his head over. You move to his ear and whisper seductively “You’re going to be mine” and then you sink your teeth into his smooth neck.
Damon moans in pain but that only makes you want to drink more. You release your fangs and wipe your mouth. You then move to the front of him and without compelling you say “drink me.”
You tilt your neck and await for his lips to press down on you. Nothing happens.
“You’re going to need your strength back. I’ve got all night. Drink from me” you order.
Reluctantly he moves his head to your neck and gets his teeth out. He then bites into your skin and starts sucking you, draining from you. You enjoy this feeling. You’re in euphoria.
After a while you break his head away from you and look at him. He is still frozen until you say. Your blood is all over his mouth and you go in close and start licking it off his face. He looks at you, not scared but slightly thrilled. This is hot.
“The paramedics will be here for your snack soon. Let’s get out of here.” You lean down to Vicky and compel her to forget everything.
“Where are we going?” Damon asked as he is compelled to follow you.
“Your new home” you reply with a smile.
“Matt” you shouted as you opened the front door. Boom-boom-boom you hear as Matt comes running down the stairs.
“Hello love” he excitedly said as he came over and kissed you.
“Hello. This is Damon Salvatore. Can he come in? I think he will be a lot of fun”
“Of course. Come in” he said. You all go into the living room and Matt offers you a drink. You accept and go for his neck.
Damon is just stood in the middle of the room. You give Matt another passionate kiss. You are so glad that he is yours.
You turn towards Damon. “I think for you. I’m not going to making you do anything that you don’t want to.” You move closer to him and say into his eyes: “You will give in to every instinct you have deep down. Lust, allure, touch.”
“You will not leave my sight” you say. Damon nods and understands.
“Do you want to fuck me?” You ask.
“No” Damon yelled.
“Well of course not, I haven’t made you want me yet.” You walk towards Matt. “Let’s show him what he’s missing baby”
Matt smiled knowing what was coming. You start making out. His warm lips pressing against you, turning you on. You take Matts top off revealing his sexy body and hard nipples.
You move down to them and start licking them. Both of you make approving noises.
“Fuck yes m/n” Matt exclaimed.
“Mmm-hmmm” you reply still sucking on his nipples.
Damon is still watching, not showing any expression. You go over to him and grabs his crotch.
“Hmm, not fully hard yet but getting there. I know you’ll want me.” You move close to his face and start kissing him. He is resisting but something tells you that he likes it.
While kissing him you gesture Matt to come over. The hot, shirtless jock came over and you started to have a 3-way kiss. There was a noise, so tiny but there. It was the moan from Damon. He was resisting less, giving in to his desires.
You moved your hands onto Damon’s chest. His muscle-fit black t-shirt was showing off his incredible muscles and pecs. Your fingers slid onto his nipples and you gave them a tug.
“Ughhh” Damon moaned and with that you took full control of the kiss. You slid your tongue into his mouth and he didn’t resist at all. You’ve won. Matt went out knowing to leave you two alone. Just you and Damon alone in the room.
You carry on kissing as Damon allowed you to unbutton his jeans. He then took them off leaving him just in his tight top and his underwear.
“Hmmm. I think we’ll leave your top on, it’s hotter.” You tell him. Your hands travel from his nipples to his now hard dick hidden underneath his black underwear.
His heart skipped a beat when you touched his goods.
“Do you want me to suck you off?” You ask.
“Yes” Damon said very quickly.
“Well, if you insist” you say as you lower down to your knees.
With his underwear still on you start kissing softly the outline of his dick. You know it is going to be a good one. After about 10 gentle kisses you finally give in and take his underwear off revealing his hard 8 inch penis. This was the biggest one you’ve ever seen. You even gasped at the size of it.
You grabbed onto his dick and slowly took the tip inside your mouth. You moved your tongue around inside your mouth making his entire tip wet.
You then decided to go deeper. You opened your mouth wider and started to go down on him. His cock tasted so good in your mouth. It was where it belonged.
Damon started thrusting his hips forward and back deeper into your throat. You started gagging as he kept going deeper and deeper inside you. He was really enjoying this and you didn’t even have to compel him to force him. You simply allowed him to be who he really was deep down.
His wet dick carried on thrusting into you until you wanted more. You stood up and asked “Do you want your dick inside my hole now?”
“Oh yes please” he said. He then leaned in for a kiss and this shocked you.
“What? Do you not want that?” He asked.
“I do. It’s just. I wasn’t expecting you to want me so much.” You say pleased.
He smiled an evil smile and and started to undress you. In a flash you were fully naked and facing each other. He turned you around and you dropped your hands onto the couch so that you were bending over and your arse was exposed.
You laughed as you just let him take over. Before you knew it Damon was leaning down and his face was in your arse crack. He started sniffing and licking all at the same time. This felt exhilarating.
Lick lick. Your arse was being devoured and you was enjoying every second.
Then for a few seconds the licking stopped. Just as you were about to turn round to see what was going on you felt his long dick enter you so smoothly and so suddenly.
You yelped out in pleasure as you tensed your hole around his dick making him moan. There was no going slowly for Damon. He was all the way in and out of you 3 times a second. He was so skilled and fast you knew he was a good choice.
After a while in that position he ejected from you and you turned around to lay on the couch. Damon followed you down and grabbed your legs as he pulled your hole towards him.
Your cheeks were spread waiting for him to re-enter you again and he happily obliged. Again you both moaned from the pleasure of each other. He lowered onto you and started to kiss again.
He carried on kissing you and exploring your mouth while he was pounding you so quickly. His raw dick inside you felt so good it brought you immense pleasure.
Faster and faster he went.
“I’m gonna cum” Damon yelled.
“Do it. Do it inside of me.” You begged.
And within a matter of seconds, Damon’s warm seed oozed inside of you. 5 full loads of white treasure explored deeper inside you. You felt each load as it shot out of Damon.
You both moaned at each load from the joy it brought you. It seemed to last an eternity. You grabbed the back of his neck and pulled him close.
“You’re mine.” You say.
“I’m yours” he replies.
“And just to make sure…” you start to compel him, “you will do everything I say. You belong to me. You are mine. Your sole purpose is to please and serve me.”
“Yes Master” he replied as he collapsed on top of you panting.
Who next you thought. Maybe that brother?
Bet Pt. 2 (Klaus Mikaelson x M! Reader)
If you haven't read the first part, here's the link. But to catch up, basically male reader is confused about who Klaus really is—evil hybrid vs. sweet, caring man. However, when Klaus is willing to show you where the cure is, are you willing to leave whatever you have with Klaus behind?
tags: reader makes a choice, happy ending, Klaus is a sweet boy, the Salvatore brothers are pissed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You hadn’t stepped foot in the Mikaelson mansion since Klaus had revealed his feelings. Every time you tried, something stopped you. The weight of his confession—his unexpected vulnerability—left you feeling more confused than ever. You couldn’t keep pretending everything was fine, not when your mind was torn between the life you had before and the life Klaus was offering you.
It wasn’t him you were angry at. In fact, you couldn’t blame Klaus for being honest, for laying his cards on the table and letting you see a side of him that few others did. No, all your frustration, all the pent-up anger, was directed at yourself. Because if Klaus had made his offer before you truly got to know him—if he had mentioned the cure before you saw the man behind the hybrid—you wouldn’t have hesitated to take it. You would’ve agreed to anything just to be human again. But now things weren’t so simple.
If you chose the cure, you would be giving up everything. Your brothers, your friends, Klaus. And the thought of leaving him behind, of never knowing what could have been, filled you with a sense of dread you hadn’t expected. When you were with him, you felt more like yourself than you had in centuries. He made you feel alive in ways that weren’t tied to your vampiric instincts. He challenged you, but he also supported you. He saw you for who you were, not just the person you used to be or the vampire you had become. And that was terrifying yet exhilarating.
After another night of pacing and weighing your options, you knew you had to confront the reality of your choice. You needed to speak to your brothers, to make them understand where you stood. You found Damon and Stefan in the parlor, just as you had anticipated. They were both quiet, sipping on their bourbon, when you stepped inside. Damon glanced up first, his gaze sharpening as he saw the determined expression on your face.
“So, have you finally made up your mind?” Damon asked, raising an eyebrow.
You took a breath and nodded. “I have,” you said, and the words came out steadier than you felt. “I’m not taking the cure. I’ve decided to stay as I am.”
A flicker of relief passed over Stefan’s face, though Damon’s reaction was less encouraging. “Good,” Damon replied dryly, “glad you’ve come to your senses and aren’t throwing everything away for some idiotic human fantasy. I guess that means you’re done with the whole Klaus thing, too, right?”
“No. I’m staying a vampire, but I’m also choosing to be with Klaus.”
The room seemed to grow colder, the silence stretching taut as a bowstring. Stefan’s relief evaporated, his brow furrowing with concern. Damon’s expression hardened, his eyes narrowing as if you had just confessed to the most unforgivable sin.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Damon spat, standing up so quickly the couch scraped against the floor. “You’re really choosing that monster over your own family? Do you even hear yourself?”
“It’s not like that,” you argued, feeling a surge of defensiveness rising in your chest. “This isn’t about choosing him over you—it’s about choosing the life I want. I’m not going to keep living the way I have, pretending things are fine between us. We haven’t been a real family for a long time.”
“So you think the answer is running into the arms of a psychopath?” Damon shot back, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “Newsflash, little brother: Klaus doesn’t know how to love. He’s a manipulative bastard who will use you until there’s nothing left. He's incapable of it.”
A bitter laugh escaped you as you met his gaze head-on. “And who are you to lecture me about love, Damon?” you shot back, anger seeping into your tone. “The man who fell for Katherine—twice? Or maybe it’s Stefan, the one who has been tangled up in an endless cycle with Elena for years, pretending that it’s love instead of just addiction?”
Stefan recoiled at your words, and Damon’s jaw tightened. The room was thick with tension, the brothers struggling to form a response. "I'm not some pawn in his game, Damon. Nor does he have me under a spell. Klaus has been honest with me, more than you have! When was the last time any of us truly cared about each other without some kind of ulterior motive?”
Stefan stepped forward. “We’re not saying you can’t choose your own path,” he said softly, “but Klaus is dangerous. You can’t deny that. You know what he’s capable of.”
“And we aren’t?” you shot back, your gaze moving between your brothers. “Let’s not act like we’re saints. We’ve all done terrible things, and we’ve all hurt people. Just because we did it for reasons we thought were justified doesn’t make us any better than him.”
Damon clenched his jaw, his expression dark with frustration. “You’re going to regret this,” he warned, his tone low and threatening. “You’re choosing him over us, and when it all falls apart, don’t expect us to come running.”
The weight of his words hit you harder than you’d expected, but you refused to show it. “If that’s the way you see it,” you replied quietly, “then maybe we were never truly brothers to begin with.”
The walk to the Mikaelson mansion felt like shedding an old skin, leaving behind a life that no longer fit. When you arrived, Klaus was there waiting, as if he had sensed the moment you had made up your mind. His expression softened the instant he saw you, a mixture of hope and relief glimmering in his eyes.
“So, you’ve come to a decision?” he asked, his voice steady but with a hint of vulnerability underneath.
You took a step closer, meeting his gaze with determination. “I have,” you said. “I’m staying.”
Klaus’s breath seemed to catch in his throat, his eyes darkening with an emotion that you had rarely seen before—something close to joy, but tempered by the shadow of all the years he had lived without it. He reached out, cupping your face in his hands with a tenderness that defied his reputation.
“Then you’ve made the right choice,” he murmured, his thumb gently tracing the line of your jaw. “And I promise, you won’t ever regret it, love.”
pairings. will hunting x fem!reader
about. will has a conversation with a woman that's very close in age with him and yet very different.
Tumblr media
warnings. swearing
ricky rocks. this movie was the first to ever make me cry. i also hate dumbass people (especially old ones) that come into my work asking me questions that have nothing to do with me. i need a raise atp.
“you’re a therapist?” you watch his face screw up and narrow as if in deep confusion, pointing before it slowly all slips away and is replaced by amusement. he laughs. he laughs in your face proudly, but the laugh doesn't seem genuine, but rather… mocking. “no fuckin’ way, you’re all pulling my leg now.”
your lips are pressed into a thin line as you watch him. you feel a distinct pull in your chest of slight humiliation, but as well sadness; for him.
“how old are you, kid?”
“i’m 22, will. how old are you?”
“22 and you’re doing this,” he shakes his head and you can’t tell if he’s impressed or still mocking you. “how’d you end up here?”
you sigh, leaning back in the chair you sat in, knowing you’d get no where from here, “i played my cards right.”
“yeah, no kidding.”
“you want to tell me how you ended up here?”
he smiled. he smiled like it was funny that he sat in the orange jumpsuit he was in and it was funny that he was screwing himself over, “i didn’t play my cards right.”
“no kidding,” you mumbled, looking at him with the most unimpressed look he had ever received from a stranger. “why?”
“what do you mean, ‘why’?”
“why’re you doing this to yourself?” you mean it. “do you not think you deserve this, that you could do better, be better?”
he doesn’t like that question.
“that’s awefully personal of you, doc. don’t you think you should take me out to dinner first?” he laughs again, but it’s not strong, it’s more nervous than anything.
“will,” you cut off the amusement in his tone, giving him a pointed look. “i’m not here to interrogate you, you know that right?”
“then what are you here for?”
“to talk.”
“about what?”
“whatever you want.”
he scoffs, “if it was whatever i wanted, we wouldn’t be talking at all.”
"what then?"
and then he smirks. his eyes rack you up and down from what he can see sitting across from you, but he keeps his mouth shut. he doesn't have to say anything for you to be able to tell what he's thinking anyways.
you look like a mother with the way annoyance just soaks you like a second skin. he almost regrets even implying such a thing with the way silence simmers uncomfortably between the two of you.
he coughs, "you like what you do?"
you inhale sharply, still staring at him carefully, thinking on how you want to reply to him. you could take one of two different routes; answering honestly, and continuing a conversation as if he was someone you had just met under normal circumstances or turning the question around on him and ultimately getting no where.
"yes, actually, I do."
"why?" he's quick.
"I like helping people."
"I knew you'd say that," he almost grumbles, like what you just said proved something to him. "everyone to ever exist with your exact career always says the same damn thing and you know what? I don't believe it."
you're taken aback, mouth slightly open, "why?"
"because people don't just like helping people out of the goodness of their heart."
"well, maybe people like you don’t."
his head tilts slightly back, you watch a slight curve form on his mouth at your retort, "what's the difference between you and me, huh? what's the little riff that separates us and makes you better than me?"
“i don’t think i’m better than you.”
“but still..? what is it?”
you stare at him, blankly, before you shrug, "well to start off you're a man and-"
"awh, cmon doc," a fake groan resonates from the back of his throat as he cuts you off, obviously fucking with you. "not this sexist shit."
"tell me I'm wrong."
he stays silent, but it's only because he wants to hear you talk.
"it's proven on multiple occasions that women are more empathic than men. it's even proven through animals that there's a seemingly large difference in empathy between genders."
"animals?" he raises a brow, "we're basing our research on animals now?"
"I mean we always have," you can't help but roll your eyes, even as he is still fucking with you, "hormones. if you want a simple basis; hormones. women's hormones are higher, so their empathy levels are higher."
"I see," will nods, but you can see there's still a pressing matter of mischief in his eyes. "you're a woman, so that's why you want to help people and I don't."
"that's not the only reason."
"what're the others then?"
"why don't you tell me?"
he narrows his look on you upon the request. you had trapped him into another question and he felt an actual drive to answer this time.
“you know this really has nothing to do with gender… but the nature we were raised in.”
oh, will hates that.
“what?” he looks relentless, like he’s given up almost, “you want me to tell you that i’ve been abandoned all my life and think our society doesn’t deserve any help? that they’re all pieces of shit and don’t deserve anything more than what they give? that your entire life has been easy, so you don't understand just exactly how fucked up people are.”
he hates how the way you look at him. the way you look content, like you had gotten exactly what you wanted, but there's sympathy; your eyes are soft, and your lips are pressed together in a half frown. that's the only thing that keeps him from not being completely on edge, the soft look of your sympathy.
"is that what you wanted to hear?"
"not necessarily," you fold your hands up on the table. "hearing anything from you would've been fine."
he scoffs, "you goddamn therapists."
"i don't think we're much different at all, actually," you glance at your hands, still folded nicely on the table between you. there's a silence then that you allow to fold up in between the two of you as you think. "life has never been easy, will. i don't think it is for anyone. everyone has their struggles, some of us just face a more... difficult horizon. in the end it only matters with how we deal with it."
he stares at you blankly as you continue to speak.
"you can wake up every day still harvesting that hate for society for whatever it has done to you, and you'll never change, because you hold that hate in your chest, because you don't let people hear you," your eyes go progressively softer, and your head slightly tilts, driving him even more insane. "i was mad for a long time at what my life was, but i became comfortable with it. you can't change what has already been done, but you can make of it what you can."
it's silent.
will thinks about your words more than he intends. having those words spoken to him by someone so similar in age to him made him feel strange, like he was a failure. you seemed to have everything in your life so figured out, as if you were so content with anything that came your way. he doesn't understand how you don't hold hate, how you just let it go as you claim.
"you happy, doc?"
you smile then, "as happy as i allow myself to be."
"you're strange," he chuckled, "you must've never been really fucked over by the world if you just let things roll off you're back."
"what would it matter?" you try to reason. "a person's dog could die and that person could take that harder than if your father were to die. your level of 'fucked' is different to everyone, but it shouldn't matter. you shouldn't feel the need to invalidate someone's feelings, just because yours were continuously. and you shouldn't feel the need to rely on the world to validate your 'fucked up things'."
he feels like he's suffocating from the large amount of empathy you shoved into his ears and down his throat. he had always heard the classic 'you deserve better' speech, but never like this. the way you laid it all out for him put it all to a different level of understanding for him, creating a feeling for guilt that was creeping around his heart for even saying anything remotely ignorant about people's struggles; for thinking he had it worse, that he felt pain more than anyone else.
will feels foolish staring at you. he feels foolish that it took this simple interaction of man sitting across from woman being what it took to make him truly understand he was in control, even his own happiness.
"we really did play our cards differently."
you smile softly, "good thing it's never too late to draw a new one from the deck."
I can Treat You Better (Rusty Ryan/Linus Caldwell)
Paring: Rusty Ryan x Ocean!Reader x Linus Caldwell(love triangle trope)
Summary: you and Rusty Ryan have always been an off and on again thing, when you two decide to have another go, Linus can't help notice the cracks and it makes him fall deeper in love with you and want to prove and treat you better. Prompt: 0.3) “Slow down, you’re doing fine”
A/n: I hope you don't mind I put a different little spin on this, but I couldn't get the idea out of my head.
MasterList ML2
Tumblr media
You and Rusty have always been an off and on again situation, it was never anything toxic and no one ever cheated, but for some reason there were always ups and downs.
Your brother Danny has secretly been keeping tallies on how many times you've broken up. “your back together? What is this the 10th time or 11th?” he asked after rusty picked him up from prison. “Shut up, this is the last time we break up”
When Linus joined the crew there was an obvious connection. Everyone could see it, including Rusty. At the time you were clueless. You were with Rusty and you weren't a cheater.
Linus was head over heels the moment he met you, he was bright red in the face and could barely say his name without stuttering. You thought it was so cute, but didn't think much of it.
“she's the best part of my day” Linus smiled as he watched you cross the room. “sorry to rain on your paraid, but she's taken” Danny told him.
Just as he said that, Rusty had said somthing to you that made you scoff and walk away from him.
Linus missed what Rusty said to you, but he didn't miss the frustration and exhauston on your face.
He always had this gut feeling you weren't happy, but he also wasn't one to steal another man's woman. So at the time he was just fine becoming your best friend.
But a blind man could see the tension and desires building up between you as the months passed, Rusty didn't like it.
Anyway, Rusty would catch on quickly, he cares about Linus but he cares about you more. So challenge accepted. Then it became this childish drama within the group.
Get ready for every single thing to be a contest. they're both extremely stubborn and even the simplest of things will be turned into a competition of who can do it better.
Suprisenly Linus would become very charming and not so awkward. He wears his heart on his sleeve. He loves that he can easily express himself around you and just be himself without being judged.
I also think Linus is good at knowing when to pump the brakes if he over steps a line or goes too far. Rusty sometimes doesn't and sometimes he forgets that he doesn't need to use the same tactics he used to use bar girls.
What you hated most about this whole situation is that Linus and Rusty were turning on each other. You knew they were best friends and you couldn't help but think this, no girl is worth losing your best friend over.
They would often go to Danny for advice to. Usually if it's Rusty asking for advice Danny will tell him to leave him out of it, but if it's Linus he'll try to give genuine advice.
Danny is secretly team Linus even though he's best friends Rusty. I think Danny is just tired of the constant on and off shit Rusty and you have going on.
“Slow down, you’re doing fine” Danny sighs after hearing yet another rant of nervousness from Linus. “I think deep down she knows you're the one, she's just too clueless”
Linus just has this sweet, charming side you never knew you needed in a partner until you met him. When rusty and him are fighting each other, Linus' acts are often sweet and fluffy. Like bring you flowers or bring you food from your favorite restaurant.
Rusty is just a flirt and you're used to it. Sometimes you wonder how you dealt with it the first time.
As it went on you got more and more attention, you didn't want that. Then Danny and team started a bet and the secret poll only grew more bets as time went on.
Linus would often get embarrassed if something went wrong and one of the guys gave him shit. It especially pisses him off when they embarrass you or make fun of you.
Then you and Rusty broke up for good this time, the fighting between him and Linus was becoming too much.
That's when Linus had enough, he didn't care if Rusty was there or not he was gonna tell you. “I love you y/n... I love everything about you, even things I don't like... I still love”
He told you to think everything through. As much as he loved you, he didn't want you making any hasty decisions or let what he said cloud your mind.
“I love you too” you quickly said. You didn't need time to think. Linus had always been there for you. He was kind and generous, always putting your well being first. The love he had for you was unconditional.
He pulled you to his chest and immediately pressed his lips to yours, kissing you gently but passionately. Linus pulled away and rested his forehead on yours. “thank God... I love you too”
“Shit! I just lost $200, man” Turk grumbled, you gave the boys a questioning look.
“You put a bet on us?” Danny He shrugged. “hey, at least you got about a thousand for your honeymoon” Danny joked and Yen nodded happily. you took the notebook with all the bets written down and hit Danny in the head. “we rob casinos, I think we should get more than a thousand” you joked.
