Matra Laser, 1971, by Michelotti. A one-off based on the Matra M530 fitted with a Ford V4 engine. The Laser was remarkably low at 1080mm which necessitated gullwing doors for access. It was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show (black and white pics) then in 1972 at the Montreal Auto Salon

alhaitham makes himself boring, on purpose
the akademiya puts a lot of restraints on its scholars and their research, but alhaitham escapes notice. why?
because he makes himself familiar (he works at the akademiya mahamata) but also uninteresting (hard to find, doesn't talk about it much, doesn't request large amounts of funding)
the kshahrewars are funded exactly the amount that will allow them to not invent death lasers out of spite but also won't allow them to invent death lasers bc why not
the akademiya matra are anxiously watching faruzan and kaveh's interactions with great trepidation....
alhaitham will come along too (to "split the costs") and together they'll rediscover the secret of how to control the ruin constructs or something (just look at how successful their thesis project was even tho it never actually finished…)
he was able to use it to his advantage! the akademiya could model cyno's behavior but no one bothered to model alhaitham bc alhaitham made it his policy to be unremarkable (despite being an incredibly young mahamata and in every meeting of importance as the scribe)
alhaitham who doesnt care if most people misread him bc there's one person who gets him
reposted with permission, thanks moss & clover!!

Daring dream INTJ tech workflow?
Gonna expand onto this ideal alongside its related 16^12 content thesis here some. Hopefully you don't mind me doing such. (I am also sick of COVID-19 rn, what a great excuse for writing much articles between my tiring naps)
As I explore and learn from orphaned/obsoleted/historical as well as contemporary technologies, I ponder not only what could be but also what I can do to make such real as far being within my reach. And whilst I am a enthusiast of those matters, may as well contemplate ways to have fun with such in practical terms, right?
Let's imagine my very own syndicated cooperative computerized LAN-scale network real fast...
First, some devices I want in my very LAN:
Ashur (2014 low-cost gaming home computer mid-tower, Intel i5-4690 quad-core)
Nineveh (two-in-one laptop, similar in specifications to Apple M1 or M2 architectures but as a transparent standard)
Nimrud (PinePhone Pro Explorer Edition smartphone to the specs level of a iPhone 12 Mini)
Babylon (Analog Video Recorder, for recording broadcasted programming into home video, with adequate included playback for large-sized LaserDiscs)
Amazon (MiniDisc portable music player with recording capability)
Akkad (Two-way pager)
Hattusa (Ebook reader)
Knossos (Affordably cheap DLSR/SLR camera)
Mycenae (Movie Camera)
Sparta (Stereo Camera)
Athens (Instant Camera)
Pella (Twin-Lens Reflex Camera)
Sumer (dumbphone, like KaiOS')
Sphinx / Marilith (Mango Pi Quad RISC-V SBC, most likely used as a retro 'emulation' game console)
Loona / Hellhound (PocketBeagle, used as a multi-sensor + electrical cost monitor for smart workspace)
Octavia (Orange Pi 5)
Stolas (data statistics, transactional centralized bank & demographical analysis, similar to latest IBM Z mainframes)
Stella (gameframe for massively multiplayer online services hosting like virtualized dockers and redundant DAO instances & dedicated user customer analytics)
Millie (3D printer + XYZ plotter device)
Moxxie (all-in-one high-end laser printer without the horrendous proprietary dependency schemes like closed-source blobs, programmed lock-ins...)
Czarina (NAS, short for NetworkAttachedStorage)
Paimon (local network services server, including multilingual DNS)
Moria (Wireless network access points, modem that includes shortwave radio & multi-layer switch & DNS server device)
Vigilante (gateway/router between global WAN (WorldWideWeb) & LAN)
Harmonia (firewall)
Thales (proxy-server for remote access and guest accesses)
Parmenides (guest end-user thin client & reverse-proxy?)
Xenophon (data processing cluster)
Seraph (SIP / VoIP server)
Throne (IoT server)
Cherub-??? (specific videophone end-user terminal unit, like Minitel's and retro Matra's?)
Plato (3DXML+QGIS+OSM metaverse hosting server)
Aristotle (intranet, web & distributed file servers)
Euclides (educational programmable physical toybox inspired by unit record equipment tabulators, early electronic learning kits, ledgers, spreadsheets, as well as early modular radio construction kits from the USSR)
Hypatia (programmable financial + scientific calculator with profound symbolic functionality (but no graphing) & hexadecimal machine code 'PolishNotation' script macro programming, comes with manuals & addon cartridges & custom shells & schematics like a MK-52)
Second, some users
Klara Ker (that's me with a few tweaks, in my fictional timeline born at the 1996 equivalent)
Tekla Kawa (very much inspired by Wolfenstein's Tekla autistic character)
Constans Rozenn (original character / almost tulpa / self-reflection of mine)
Valenz Chaves
Magali Soler
Irma Milan
Teno Schwarz
Nirvana Petra
Micha Becker
Pan Keller
Matyas Merkel
Ursae Eike
Abra Elke
Maya Noonlight
Anya Zen
[insert more closely-related agents above]
Sasha Blackhand (Steve Wozniak-tier "entrepreneur" without the Steve Jobs' influence)
Engel Schwarzenegger (feminine celebrity inspired by eponymous name-bearer)
Kanrad Zuse (Pflaumen long-dead sapient executive)
Ken Olsen (Pflaumen current sapient executive, succeeded Konrad Zuse)
Maela Katarin (Utalics lead sapient executive)
[insert more key figure agents above]
Deno Hayden (younger but middle brother, born in 1998 eq.)
Wyatt Hayden (youngest brother, born in 2000 eq.)
Gustav Hayden (my father)
Falah Becker (my mother)
Justy Valeria Lorentz (my maternal grand mother)
Ava (sapient synthetic serf for myself specifically)
Shoshona (inside-joke 'Stubentiger' and default guest user on the LAN)
Drawing vector + raster graphics for that LAN network soon enough...
"Czar" Lisp keyboard & "Marilith" SBC? ideas

Some retro-heavy inspirations for my own Lisp Keyboard for the 21st century. Less leaning for the cooler colors and more towards getting hints for the specific keys, their styling & their placement.
As for the "Marilith" computer build I envision the above keyboard accompanying, I would focus towards using either a existing RISC-V SBC, a BeagleBone Black Wireless pack or some custom mini-kit that uses RISC-V as its processor basis. And yes, I am heavily inspired by the eighties soviet mockup for the Sphinx box and I/O devices, kinda like how the Pentagon felt cool and quirky for a ZX Spectrum clone.

I do not need much in processing specs (RAM & on-board storage should reach 4+GB-48GB respectively), as it is a mostly experimentation & research-driven home computer build project to dive into low-range computation whilst staying both aesthetically-pleasing and transparent computation-wise. I could use something Apple M1-ish or whatever lightweight Microdot Linux-like bindings for my command-line interface-heavy uses for it but it should mostly be a testing and development bench for tinkering and educational purposes on my end. Running minuscule operating systems like ZealOS, XXIIVV's Parade, MINIX3... and indeed develop some of my own derived from history and into the imagination beyond.
So yeah, I expect getting there financially by my 25th birthday, on August 1st this year, but I will get you some more information onto those "Servitor"-like baby steps project in due time.

Matra Laser
Michelotti based the Laser on the Matra M530’s chassis and commended mid-engined layout (at the time, one well-known magazine described the handling as ‘unbelievably neutral’). The bodywork had the wedge-shaped profile synonymous with 1970s concept cars, while the doors were of the ‘gullwing’ variety; a feature shared with many of Michelotti’s experimental cars of the same period. Sitting just 1080mm tall, the Laser had chunky door sills designed not only to increase structural rigidity, but also to channel cool air to the 1700cc Ford V4 engine stowed away behind the passenger compartment. The unique prototype made its debut at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show painted in a striking shade of yellow, and later appeared at the 1972 Montreal Auto Salon sporting some subtle styling changes and a less conspicuous silver paint scheme.

EC-665 Tiger UHT
The armor on this helicopter consists of 20 mm composite AMAP-AIR surrounding the cockpit and protecting the pilot and gunner. Both the pilot and the gunner sit on 5 mm thick Kevlar seats. Finally, there is an additional 8 mm of steel separating the two engines.
The fuel and transmission sit in the middle of the aircraft, between the gunner and the engine. There is no armor protection for the transmission and fuel, and their placement in the middle of the helicopter makes them vulnerable to enemy fire.
Tiger UHT multi-role fire support helicopters have an Osiris mast-mounted sight from SAGEM, with Infrared Charge Coupled Device (IRCCD) camera and laser rangefinder. There is a nose-mounted Forward-Looking Infrared (FLIR) with a 40° x 30° field of view.
Tiger can be equipped with four MBDA (formerly Matra BAe Dynamics) Mistral or Raytheon Stinger air-to-air missiles. The air-to-air missile control functions are on the flight control grip. Target acquisition is achieved by using the joystick to steer the sight manually or with automatic tracking.
The Tiger is fitted with EADS/LFK ATA firing posts for the launch of Euromissile HOT 3 and Euromissile TRIGAT LR anti-tank missiles, fired by the gunner. Only one weapon is activated at a time.
The TRIGAT LR missile has a range of 500m to 5,000m and can be applied in direct attack or terminal dive attack modes. The HOT 3 missile has a range of up to 4,000m.

Final Fantasy VII Advent Calendar — Dec. 8
Barret finds Dyne past a junkyard. Dyne is despondent and wants to destroy everything. Barret reveals that his daughter Marlene was adopted after the Corel fire and Dyne is her bio dad. Dyne attacks Barret in some sort of suicidal rage, with his justification that he wants to kill Marlene so that she can be with her mom.
Dyne is not much of a boss, as you fight him with Barret alone. I opened with Bio followed by a limit break, Bolt 2, and another limit break, and then Dyne keeled over.
Dyne leapt from the cliffside.
Good thing Cloud is getting entered in a Chocobo race for his freedom!
This serves as essentially a tutorial to the Chocobo racing that becomes available on Disc 2. It's pretty hard to lose. Not only does Cloud win his freedom, Dio gives him a brand new buggy! And with that I'm free to start completely going BONKERS backtracking!
First: the Costa del Sol area, for the Beachplugs. Manipulating the Beachplugs allows you to nab the Enemy Skill "Big Guard" which, for 56 MP, allows one to envelop the entire party in Barrier and Magic Barrier.
I then took the buggy into Costa del Sol and went across to Junon and through the Mythril Mine, because there's another Enemy Skill that can be (somewhat) easily obtained now...
And it involves picking a fight with the Midgar Zolom, the giant snake in the marsh.
The Zolom knows Beta, which is a highly damaging Fire spell that hits the entire party, and it's learnable. It's worse than Fire3, but it also hits the entire enemy party at once. It's survivable in two scenarios: a Fire-Elemental combo on your armor, reducing or negating Fire damage (or even absorbing it, but the latter is unlikely at this stage of the game, even if you put it in double-AP slots ASAP) or the Fire Ring from Costa del Sol. Cloud had the former, Tifa the latter, and I gave them both an Enemy Skill materia. I used Laser (a skill from a Corel Prison enemy) to shave off most of the Zolom's health and then hit it until it gave me the sauce. I also tried to keep Big Guard up throughout the fight.
I actually had to reset because the first time the Zolom kicked Cloud out, and since Cloud had one of the Enemy Skill materia, he didn't learn Beta. The second try the Zolom punted Yuffie out instead.
In summary: so long, Matra Magic, there's a new mass-kill spell in town.

In Enemy Skill news, I also manipulated a Zemzelett into casting White Wind on the party. This is a cure spell that heals everyone for the caster's current HP.
Tifa got her Level 2 limit while I was grinding outside Junon. Cloud got his second Level 2 the very next battle. My Restore materias leveled up, too.
I made my way back across the ocean. In the desert surrounding the Gold Saucer I had a Chimera cast Aqualung on my still-Enemy-Skill-Learning party members. This is a decent alternative to Beta for fire-resistant enemies.
Between these four Enemy Skills, you have two viable damage sources, a defensive option, and a curative option, all of which are pretty excellent. This is the point in the game where Enemy Skills go from "eh, they're alright" to absolute gamebreakers if you're aiming for it. They're cheap and quicker than leveling materia.
I stopped off in Gongaga, a village which formerly had a reactor until the tragic day it blew up.
The Turks Reno and Rude were there. They were having a discussion about the love traing relations of themselves and the main cast before realizing we were there.
They cast Fire on me. I cast Beta on them, and then lit Reno up with multiple level 2 spells. The other party members speculated there may be a spy in the party, given the Turks were waiting for them. I got the Deathblow materia, good for an attack that is half as accurate and twice as damaging!
At the ruined reactor, Scarlet showed up. She was looking for a "big, large, huge materia." Well, I mean, the reactor still produced the summon Titan, so y'know...still pretty good.
In Gongaga proper, I got Mystify and Time materia. I also stopped in a small house where the parents of a young man asked Cloud, who has mako eyes, if he knew a "Zack" in SOLDIER. Depending on your party, there are different conclusions to the scene. Aerith will talk about her first love, and Tifa will talk about how both you and Zack left your small towns to join SOLDIER.
Today's Predictions & Strategy for Tomorrow
I am now slightly behind again, but the trip back to Junon and the mine was worth it for the Enemy Skills. Cosmo Canyon isn't too bad, but afterwards there's a bonus boss in Nibelheim. Not sure if that'll give me trouble. Who knows!

Which is a greater fighter jet?
The Sukhoi Su-30MKI could be the Indian Air Power’s major air superiority fighter however the stars of Tuesday’s surgical strike at terror camps throughout the LoC have been the Mirage 2000s. A day later, Pakistani Air Power (PAF) launched the deadliest arrow in its quiver – the F-16 Combating Falcons – in a retaliatory strike, and misplaced one among them to Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman earlier than his MiG21 was introduced down and he was captured.
In response to India In the present day, India had initially ordered some 36 single-seater Mirage 2000 plane and four twin-seater Mirage 2000 plane as a response to Pakistan’s acquisition of the US-made F-16 Falcons. So, which one is a greater fighter jet? Let’s have a look:
Pace: The Mirage 2000, a single-engine fourth technology plane manufactured by Dassault Aviation, can attain prime speeds of as much as Mach 2.2 or 2,336 km/hour at excessive altitude whereas it might probably attain as much as 1,110 km/hour in low altitude. Then again, the F-16 Falcon, a single-engine supersonic fighter manufactured by Basic Dynamics – now Lockheed Martin – for the US Air Power (USAF) is relatively slower. It might attain a most pace of over Mach 2.
Weapons: The Mirage 2000 boasts 9 hardpoints for weapons carriage and a fight vary of 1,850 km. It is usually tasked with a nuclear weapon supply position. Aside from two 30 mm DEFA 554 revolver cannons, which can be utilized for air-to-air fight, it’s also able to launching unguided Matra 68 mm rocket and has a capability of 18 rockets per pod. It addition, it’s able to launching Air-to-Air and Air-to-Floor missiles.
Additionally learn: India to current proof of Pakistan’s F-16 misuse to the US
However whereas the F-16 additionally reportedly has a complete of 9 hardpoints, it boasts of extra weapon storage capability than the Mirage. It’s armed with a greater M61 Vulcan cannon within the left wing root and the interior Vulcan cannon has a particularly excessive price of firing (6,000 rounds per minute). As well as, it might probably carry all kinds of air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, rockets or bombs and digital jammers.
Climbing pace: The Mirage wins over the F-16 on this case. Whereas the Mirage has a most climbing pace of 60,000 toes per minute, the F-16 reportedly manages 50,000 toes per minute. Their comparative sizes clarify all of it. The Mirage weighs 7500 kg (dry) and has a complete takeoff weight of 17,000 kg whereas the Falcon weighs 8,570 kg (dry), with a most takeoff weight of 19,200 kg. The previous can contact a most top of 59,000 toes whereas the F-16’s ceiling is at 50,000 toes.
Fight radius: In response to the Federation of American Scientists, the F-16C has a fight radius going as much as 1,370 km with two bombs weighing round 907 kg every whereas the Mirage can go 1,475 km with 4 250-kg bombs.
Additionally learn: IAF pilot Abhinandan launch LIVE updates: Wing Commander to be dropped at Delhi from Attari
USP: The Mirage 2000 is especially recognized for its functionality of finishing up bombing operations. A single plane can maintain at the least two laser-guided bombs, able to taking out main floor targets. Nevertheless, since a lot of weapons could be saved on this plane, it might probably undoubtedly be used effectively in each air-to-air and air-to-ground fight.
The F-16, nevertheless, is healthier suited to air-to-air fight resulting from its excessive manoeuvring functionality. It might pull 9-g manoeuvres. Furthermore, its cockpit continues to be praised for the clear discipline of view it gives – pilots can get a 360-degree view throughout fight, thus vastly bettering accuracy.
