I have found a male cover for “War of Hearts” (the malec song by the most talented Ruelle) and I have just had an ethereal experience of imagining Eris play piano while Azriel sings this song. Repeat I have from the male cover of this malec song and omg azris is just my malec obsession all over again-

hi its me the one that sent the long ass post on the new malec fic, and tbh i dont really mind the diff a lot (unlike what it seemed in the post .. uh i read it again and it comes off like i do, it really was just a prefernce like you said) BUT i am just so glad that you were able to write a malec based fic (or will write) after the traumatic TLND experience (which since i was there when it was all happening i would have understood if you would have wanted even a longer break to write them again) , that i would take anything. and tbh i imagine alec as mathew daddario (like with his face) in all alec fics but with his sister's eyes (like have you seen alexandra daddario she is really gorgeous - imagine my surprise when i found out matt is her younger brother) but i totally got sebastian stan as well as a fancast, (but like i imagine him for a older ver of alec u know, anyways)

aside from this, about the hieght diff, and eyes, i think its just because i read them when i was teen, like literally when i was growing up that i just prefer more fics with them but there were sooo less fics with book malec or atleast ones that did get it right that i was sooooo happy when i read your malec fics!! srsly like it was a dream come true considering i have been in this fandom for so long like completely unrelated but the way i silent-screamed (bc otherwise my parents would have thought me crazy 😂) when i found out malec got married in the books ... BUT i have read a lot of show!malec fics, i cannot tell you how obsessed i was and am with matt daddario , like his humor his range amazing all of it but so less fics got them right like none of them like you do, so either works for me as long as you are writing the fics.

that previous post was just me babbling and putting my two cents about the show vs book thing that has been going on in the fandom, but i am just sooooooo excited that you are able to write malec again, i just ugggghhh , i love your writing and i love them (also mavid too) eeeee i am just too excited !🥰 thank you srsly for being willing to write malec again

it's always soooo nice to see people gushing about malec so much (show or book!!) because they are honestly THAT couple and it's what they deserve!!!

i am very excited that i can write malec again too and honestly it's really just about inspiration and finding a story that you really want to share with the rest of the world. There is a LOT of work to be done in terms of characterisations but i am looking forward to it. i think we might get started in august so fingers crossed x

Something really irks me in the ACOTAR fandom, and hence the following rant...

SJM specifically wrote the Bat Boys, and all the Illyrians, in a way that makes them POC coded. Their skin colour is often described as golden brown, hello. (Though their struggles and cultural aspects aren't all the same as real world POCs, as they're a fantasy people).

But almost every post or video I see, where someone tries to fancast them, is full of white men (I like Henry Cavill but he's not Rhysand or Cassian, omg stahp). They may be tanned or covered in bronzer, but they're white.

Even Mathew Daddario is white (99% times people want him as Azriel).

Like, is it really that hard to accept that dark skinned fantasy races exist? That not every role is meant to be taken over by white people? There are enough white coded characters within the ACOTAR series, so there's no dearth of options there.

Why must the POC characters be whitewashed too? It frustrates me to no end.

Incoming rant about pjo movie casting titled

“YOU CASTED THE WRONG DADDARIO DAMMIT!”

(not to mention the rest of co-actors too. you’ll see what I mean)

on to what bothers me. so you know Alexandra Daddario, the one who played Annabeth; the one who, even tho in the scale of bad castings isnt as terrible as say German Diane Kruger as Heléni or that African as Heraclés it still is a bad casting which got terrible with her becoming blonde? so she has a brother, Mathew Daddario, if you’ve watched Shadowhunters you know him as Alec. I didnt realize they were related cuz they look nothing alike, and from his looks and name he seemed Italian to me, & at some point i was bored enough & annoyed about pjo enough to look up bio & yes their grandpa is Italian & the other three grandparents north Europeans, apparently he looks like him while shes mostly like the other three. So, why did I look up bio stuff? this is the Shadowhunters cast

His twin sister in the story, Isabelle, is played by Emeraude Toubia who is part Mexican -part Lebanese (grandparents from Koura (Χώρα!!) district in Lebanon! 72% Greek Orthodox!!) and his mother Maryse is played by Nicola Correia-Damude whose mom is from Guyana S. America (usa/canada melting pot gives me a headache). I always thought these three would pass nicely as Greeks. (cuz getting actual Greeks casted is όνειρο θερινής νυκτός apparently, especially for lead roles)

So look at their pictures. and look back at the casting we got for pjo, annabeth, percy, sally. Now compare this with what we COULD have gotten: Mathew Daddario as Perséa, Emeraude as Anna-María, Nicola as Stélla. and CRY.

like how difficult is it to cast people who at least can pass as Greek, even if you’re dead set against casting Greeks? i’m not even gonna start on how we’re either too “dark” or too “white” to be casted (whatever is more convenient at the time) or too whatever, but even Greek passing people is too much to ask for, we only rarely get it accidentaly. I had a quick scroll at the rest of the cast and as I remembered theres more of S.American/Italian descent who’re greek passing to pick from! Today I even found a Greek-British actress there you could gasp! cast, Alexandra Ordoli!

So yeah that was my “you casted the wrong Daddario dammit” rant. at least they were “generous” enough to let us have Greeks in some minor roles, it is about Greek mythology after all. it could’ve been so much worse like full-on “woke” casting. i havent watched the 2nd movie mind you, the first one left a bad taste in my mouth,(mostly for the reason below)

Theres WAY more to rant about pjo when it comes to culture but thats a rant for another time. I’ll just say here, afair not even riordan dared to set stories within one of their lame copies of Ancient Hellenic temples like they did in the movie so they could fully displace Hellas from the story & replace it with their own stuff. that was HORRIBLE to watch. but it trully shows what they are compared to Hellas. Lame Fake copies or stolen things which will never be theirs.
