"I see." Andrew says and lets the topic drop. They move on to other truths, other questions, and other moments that make Andrew's heart race as they amble through the night pressed side by side.

Andrew realizes that he might have a problem when Alex suddenly grabs him to hide them in an alley when he sees a cop. Alex grabs him and Andrew's instinctual response to lash out has him punch Alex in the gut but his friend holds on despite the breath being knocked out of him.

Andrew doesn't apologize and Alex doesn't ask him to.

What he realizes though is that he doesn't want Alex to let him go.

"Why are you blushing?" Andrew asks.

Alex blinks at him again seemingly surprised on being called out on his blush. "I'm blushing?" he asks hand coming to his cheeks. "Sorry I was just..." he trails off and there's that smile again. The smile that usually makes Andrew want to punch something and it still does make Andrew want to punch something, but it's...it's different.

"Thinking about what?" Andrew demands before he can think about it but when he hears his own voice he sounds....jealous? He sounds like a jealous boyfriend.

Alex looks at him and Andrew feels his stomach twist when he looks like he's never seen Andrew before in his life.
