Este domingo, la presidenta municipal de Tlaxcala, Anabell Ávalos Zempoalteca, encabezó el banderazo de salida de la Carrera Towerrunning, la cual logró reunir a 500 competidores de diferentes puntos de la República Mexicana, donde se coronaron como ganadores de los 5 kilómetros en la categoría libre varonil y femenil, Alexis Trujillo Ortega y Jessica Vélez Gutiérrez, respectivamente.

En su mensaje la alcaldesa dio la bienvenida a todos los atletas que participaron en la justa deportiva, y los felicitó por ser partícipes de actividades como esta que fomentan el cuidado a la salud y promueven el ejercicio, sobre todo en esta carrera que ya se ha vuelto toda una tradición en la capital del Estado y aún más en el marco de los 500 años del Encuentro de Dos Culturas.

Por lo que reiteró el compromiso de continuar apoyando este y todos los programas deportivos que sean necesarios para bien de las familias, pues permite a la sociedad fortalecer lazos de unión en un ambiente sano.

A su vez, el presidente de la Federación Mexicana Towerrunning, Roberto Velásquez Leiva, agradeció el apoyo de las autoridades municipales por las facilidades brindadas para hacer posible esta competencia, y de igual manera reconoció la calidez y buena participación que se registró en la quinta edición de la carrera en Tlaxcala.

De esta forma en la categoría femenil de 5 kilómetros rama Libre la ganadora fue Jessica Vélez Gutiérrez, en segundo lugar, Araceli Castillo López y en tercero Elba Rodríguez Nava; mientras que en la rama Master la triunfadora fue Guadalupe Aguilar Valdés, seguida de Rosa María González Torres y en tercer peldaño llegó Sandra Orozco Ortiz.

En la rama Veterana el primer puesto lo obtuvo, Elizabeth Aguilar Becerril, el segundo fue para Luz María Soto Zúñiga y el tercero para Carmen Hernández Munguía; y en la Veterana Plus la ganadora fue Consuelo Loaiza Téllez, seguida de Dolores Barrientos Méndez y por último Patricia Carvajal Romero.

Por otro lado, en la categoría Varonil también de 5 kilómetros rama Libre el ganador absoluto fue Alexis Trujillo Ortega, mientras que en segundo sitio se colocó Jesús Raya Castillo y en tercero se ubicó el tlaxcalteca Christopher Ortiz Miranda; en la rama Master el primer lugar lo consiguió Cesar Muñoz Flores, el segundo Miguel Ángel Moreno Vargas y el tercero Jorge Hernández Nevero.

Posteriormente, en el grupo de Veteranos el triunfador fue Francisco Ramírez Gutiérrez, seguido de Gerardo Carrillo y de Rogelio Beristaín Gutiérrez; y en Veteranos Plus el primer lugar se lo adjudicó Benjamín Rodríguez Arellano, en segundo fue para Venancio Trejo Bautista y el tercero lo obtuvo Raúl Cervantes Aceves.

Durante la ceremonia de premiación también se reconoció el esfuerzo de los pequeños que participaron en las categorías infantil y del resto de competidores, además en el evento estuvieron presentes los directores de Protección Civil y Deportes del ayuntamiento capitalino, Julio Blanco Badillo y Tomás Pérez, respectivamente.
