Even getting a Bronze medal is a huge deal for us because from a young age we are taught, "Padhoge, likhoge tho banoge Nawab. While I was thrilled to see fellow Asian countries like Turkey and South Korea get positive rep for their shooters, the Indian shooter, Manu Bhaker, won 2 bronze (10m singles and 25m mixed) and came fourth in 25m singles, be ignored. This actually were our first medals in shooting after 12 years and our first in mixed pairs. The only ones who reported it were the desiblr and Indian reporting sites.

All parents and schools care about are how well you can mug up stuff. Talent is stifled because of the pressure of grades (there is a guy in my class who is a national champion in Table Tennis and has participated in many inter-state Football championships while representing his state and attended many National Football camps but he is not allowed to play during games period because he gets 25/40 as an average in our tests)

There is so much investment in Cricket and Football but there is hardly anything in niche sports like Shooting, Archery, etc. The players have to work 2 jobs and then come to practice. There are unfair calls (Hockey Quaterfinals) and when we try to protest against said unfair calls, a key player gets banned. There is also a case of racism where a Woman is disqualified from the finals for being 100 fucking GRAMS overweight for 50kg wrestling category where usually if a person is 50-100g overweight they are allowed to compete

But still we are on those podiums with necklaces of success around our neck. Still there is a kid who dreams to stand there one day. Still there is hope for just one more medal, still there is hope for one more record. Still there are prayers of thousands. Still we are there and we will always be there.

"First world" countries will never understand how much an Olympic/world championship medal means to Brazilians (and other "developing nations").

There are barely any scholarships for athletes, there are barely any endorsements or sponsorships. There's no infrastructure, no incentive...

Brazilians are on podiums because we persevere despite an entire system trying to stifle us.

"Biased" Probe Panel Trying To Protect Brij Bhushan, Allege Wrestlers

The government-formed six-member panel, led by the legendary Indian boxer MC Mary Kom, had submitted its report to the government but it was not made public.

New Delhi: The women wrestlers have questioned the intent of the oversight panel that probed the sexual harassment accusations against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and alleged that it was biased towards him, said the charge-sheet filed by the Delhi Police in the sensational case.

The outgoing WFI chief is scheduled to appear before a trial court today in pursuance of summons issued against him and the Federation’s Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar.

The government-formed six-member panel, led by the legendary Indian boxer MC Mary Kom, had submitted its report to the government but it was not made public.

The complainants, in their separate statements, alleged that the panel appeared biased towards Singh, who is also a BJP MP.

The charge-sheet that runs into 1599 pages, contained statements of 44 witnesses, besides six statements by the complainants which were recorded under CrPC 164.

“Even after giving my statement before the (oversight) committee whenever I visited the Federation office, the accused looked at me with distasteful and lustful eyes and made wrong gestures which made me feel insecure,” said one of the complainants.

“Even the video recording was being switched off and on while I was giving my statement and in spite of my request the committee did not supply me a copy of my video recording. I fear that my statement may not have been recorded in entirety and may also have been tampered with to protect the accused,” the statement of the wrestler read further.

Another complainant said that she was made a part of the WFI sexual harassment committee to look into such cases without her consent. All national sports federations are supposed to have Internal Complaints Committee.

“I was never issued any formal communication informing me about such approval, nor was any formal communication was received by me seeking my approval to be part of the sexual harassment committee of the Wrestling Federation of India.

“The accused, in conspiracy with accused №2 and other unknown persons, has deliberately done this to suppress my voice and allegations against him. He has, without my approval or consensus, made me part of the said committee and is now alleging that in spite of being part of the committee, I am falsely alleging to be a victim myself,” said the complainant.

The same ‘victim’ also alleged that the oversight panel did not provide her the recording when demanded.

“I had serious doubts that that my statement on video may not have been recorded in entirety or may have been altered in an attempt to protect the accused and thus I requested for a copy of the video recording. However members of the oversight committee flatly turned down my request.” Delhi police had justified not arresting the accused, saying both Singh and WFI Assistant Secretary Tomar complied with the law by joining the investigation.

“Results of digital/electronic devices and exhibits seized and deposited with the concerned Forensic Labs are yet to be received and shall be filed through supplementary police reports. The analysis of requisitioned CDRs etc., as found appropriate for the purpose of prosecution shall also be submitted expeditiously,” the police said in the charge-sheet.

Women’s panel summons Delhi Police for failing to arrest Brij Bhushan Singh in POCSO case

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal issued a summons to Delhi Police for failing to arrest Brij Bhushan Singh in connection with the two FIRs registered against him for sexual harassment.

Over the past several days, wrestlers have been protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding the arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan, accused of sexual harassment.

On Tuesday, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal issued a summons to Delhi Police for failing to arrest the accused person in connection with the two FIRs registered against him on April 28, pertaining to sexual harassment allegations, including violations under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Singh is accused of sexually harassing women wrestlers, including a minor. The wrestlers had gone to the Connaught Place police station on April 21 to file a complaint against him. However, the police did not register an FIR back then.

Thereafter, the women approached the Supreme Court. Then, on April 28, two FIRs were registered, one under the POSCO Act for sexually harassing a minor while another FIR was registered for sexual harassment with other complainants.

After the DCW learned that no accused has been arrested in the matter to date.

In this regard, DCW chief Swati Maliwal issued a summons to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) New Delhi district and has sought an explanation in the matter. The Commission has sought details of arrests made in the matter and has asked for reasons for the non-arrest of accused persons.

Furthermore, the Commission has asked for reasons for failing to record statements of survivors under 164 CrPC along with details of action taken against concerned police officers for failing to record the statement. The Commission has asked the DCP to appear before the Commission on May 12 with an action taken report.

DCW chief Swati Maliwal stated, “It is very unfortunate that no accused in the matter has been arrested till date. Also, Delhi Police has failed to record statements of survivors under 164 CrPC even. This is very serious. The accused should be arrested immediately and statement of survivors should be registered. Also, action should be taken against concerned police officers for failing to record their statement under 164 CrPC.”

Several top wrestlers, including Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, have been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar seeking Brij Bhushan Singh's arrest and ouster from the federation.

In the face of growing protests, Brij Bhushan Singh, who has remained defiant of not quitting his post, said he would hang himself if even a single allegation against him is proved.

Top wrestlers first came out in protest against the WFI chief in January, accusing him of sexual exploitation. They had demanded that WFI be disbanded and its president be removed. The sports ministry then formed an oversight committee headed by boxing great MC Mary Kom on January 23 and asked it to submit its findings in one month. The government is yet to make the findings public.

On May 3, a scuffle broke out between the wrestlers and some police personnel, leading to head injuries to a couple of protesters. The wrestlers alleged they were manhandled by the police personnel, but Delhi Police denied they used force against the grapplers.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made at Jantar Mantar. Security forces have been deployed and activities at the protest site are being monitored round the clock through CCTVs to ensure that no untoward incident takes place.

Serious matter: Supreme Court issues notice on wrestler's plea seeking FIR against Brij Bhushan

The bench said and ordered redaction of names of complainant wrestlers from judicial records with a view to suppress their identities.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to the Delhi government on a plea of seven women wrestlers seeking direction to the Commissioner of Delhi Police of registering FIR against WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for allegedly assaulting women wrestlers.

Noting that there are serious allegations in the plea, a bench of CJI DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha while seeking response from GNCTD posted the plea for Friday. Court also directed for redacting the identities of the petitioners.

Appearing for the wrestlers, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal though they have been complaining of sexual harassment by Singh, the authorities have not taken steps to register FIR against him. “Even the police persons can be prosecuted for not registering an offence of this nature. On allegations of sexual assault, no FIRs have been lodged,” Sibal said.

Many renowned Indian wrestlers including Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik in January had accused Singh and WFI coaches for sexually harassing female grapplers.

After meeting with the wrestlers although the Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on January 24 had announced the formation of an oversight committee led by MC Mary Kom, the committee was tasked with overlooking the day-to-day activities of WFI and the allegations against Singh. But the stir was renewed on Sunday at Jantar Mantar where the wrestlers sat on dharna pursuant to them being unhappy with the committee’s report and Delhi Police’s inaction in filing the FIR.

The complaint was filed by seven of the country’s top wrestlers, Olympic medallists and multiple world championship, medalists including a minor.

New Delhi: India's top wrestlers have resumed their protest in Delhi's Jantar Mantar against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, accusing him of sexually harassing several athletes. The wrestlers who called off their protest earlier this year after assurances that a committee would probe the allegations say that they will remain at the protest site till police file a complaint against Brij Bhushan.

"We will not believe anyone blindly. Last time we were misled. We hope this time there is no politics in this case," says Vinesh Phogat, the first Indian woman wrestler to win gold at both the Commonwealth and Asian Games.

The protesters also said that this time they will not turn down anyone, and whoever wants to support their protest could come and join them. In January, the protesters had request left leader Vrinda Karat to leave the stage as it was an "athletes protest".

"This time, all parties are welcome to join our protest whether it is BJP, Congress, AAP, or any other party. We are not affiliated with any party," Olympic medallist Bajrang Punia said.

Seven women wrestlers have filed a sexual harassment complaint against federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at the Connaught Place police station in Central Delhi. The protesting athletes claim that no action has been taken yet and they will continue their agitation till the police register an FIR in the case.

The wrestlers claim that they had ended their protest in January over "false assurances."

"We will sit here day and night. Till the time we don't get justice. We will sit here," Ms Phogat said, after spending the night on the footpath.

"We have been trying to contact them (Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and other relevant authorities) for three months. The members of the committee are not responding to us, sports ministry has also not said anything, they don't even pick up our calls. We have won medals for the country and have put our careers at stake for this," she added.

In January, the sports ministry formed a five-member committee, which was headed by Olympic medallist boxer MC Mary Kom, to investigate the complaints. The committee had been instructed to submit its findings within a month.

Wrestler Sakshee Malikkh expressed frustration over the report on the issue by the panel not being made public yet.

"We want the report, which has recorded women wrestlers' statements, to be public. It's a sensitive issue, one of the complainants is a minor girl," she said, adding that the names of the complainants must not be leaked.

The government panel submitted its report in the first week of April, but the ministry is yet to make its findings public. However, sources said the wrestlers could not prove the sexual harassment allegations against the WFI boss after several hearings.

Several wrestlers had gone public with the accusations against federation chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on January 18. The elite wrestlers had said they weren't satisfied after talks with the government and "won't wrestle another day" till their demands are met. Alleging mismanagement in the functioning of the federation, they demanded a complete overhaul of the federation.

Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has said that he will not contest for the president's post in the WFI election on May 7 but hinted that he might look for a new role within the federation. He has served three four-year terms as president in a row and according to the Sports Code after completing 12 years as WFI chief, he is ineligible to contest for the top post.

The healer has finally showed up. He explains to kory what they sensed is going in. It is more then what he can deal with. Kory is numb as she rubs her belly and prays. A hour later kory is in surgery. They safely deliver and then preserve the baby for transport . Kory wakes up and see the floating cube with buttons and lights next to the door

" like something is missing " kory touches her belly . It feel the same until the other baby moves and stretched out. She can feel them it feels all wrong to her.

" this machine will hold the remains until you are ready to ash them sister.

" Please"kory says and takes the picture. Kory a little surprised that the baby looks so well formed . The face is small and slightly puggy. Then she looked farther down. Then their the heart and a little farther down a very small amount of intestines are showing. They were a boy that looks like dick .

The first of many tears started to fall from Kory's eyes.

" I can place him in your ship if you so wish ." Kom ask

Kory is torn she doesn't want to let him leave her side but she really doesn't want to see him like this while she pumps.

"Please take him to the ship I cant do this with him here."

" understood I will personally see to it." Kom say

Kory is surprised by her sister. She acts like she actually cares. I guess mother hood can change people.

Kory finished her pumping and headed to her room to pack up. She meets Connor at the door way of kom room.

How many next gen Nightwing offspring should I add to my Earth Legacy AU?/How many IS TO MANY!?!?

Guys in my AU nightwings currently in his early 20s(I’m thinking 23 or so and he turns 24 during December) and for the record I’m going with a certain age gap established by a certain show in regards to ages of the established robins/batkids of said show..I already added both Nightstar kiddies Mar’i and Jacob. They both grow up primarily on Tamaran under the watchful eyes of their mother and aunt yes I’m going the new 52 route in regards to to the relationship both Koriand’r and Komand’r share. If you don’t know about said relationship then I recommend reading the red hood and the outlaws issues that Koms in I’m debating on giving Jacob a made up Tamaranean name like jakkas which could be pronounced as jack-kas which I just realized sound like a certain English world but I can see it as a Tamaran name that could serve as tribute to Jack Haly. They would be born when nightwings 21 making them 2 or so currently.

I’m debating on if Kori moves to earth permanently or not I mean I already have Ryand’r as a active hero on earth in addition to two or three female tamaraneans(k’li from the earth 2 comics who was implied to have been a princess Oleand'r from superboy and the ravers and xyannis the sister of prince Karras) I’m debating on taking Oleand’r out. In my AU kom has her comic love interest Dor'ion as her husband and thus king of Tamarus. They are happy together and have kids. Anyways enough about that(I will be posting more about legacy!Tamaran And its important people on my earth legacy blog @talesfromearthlegacy )

The next Grayson kiddo I know is definitely added to my AU is one of the newer next gen comic characters that appeared over in the Batman beyond comic in 2018 aka Elainna Grayson who in my AU I’m thinking was mothered by Shawn tsang. She’s 3 years old being born when nightwings 20.

I’m thinking of adding John Grayson aka the dickbabs son from earth 2 but if I did he would be John the third or somethings because nightwings has a paternal first cousin name John in my AU(shoutout to those who get where cousin Johns from) or maybe if I add him I can take a que from earth 2 being unable to decide on Johns named and just call him John Thomas(gee have Thomas for a middle name sure is popular in my AU lol

Batman has like 9 blood kids in my AU(only two are considered OCS...well only one since one of the OCs could be considered to be canon in two certain comic AUs) so yeah lol

For the record Damian’s two years old in my AU thus making him the youngest of all of Bruce’s kids and so he gets to grow up having nieces and nephews both older and younger then him....and no I doubt I’m gonna have Damian and Mari wind up together. Ibn al xu'ffasch exist in my AU but he’s 1.)14 years older then Mari and 2.) he was brought into the family at age 16(one of His paternal cousins after bumping into his counterpart from another universe decided to see if ibn existed in her universe and as it turns out he did) after certain things happen(ibns backstory will be told in another post detailing Bruce’s blood children) so here mar’i grows up calling ibn uncle although he’s not her actual uncle(on earth legacy Bruce didn’t legally adopt Nightwing due to the wishes of certain parties so nightwing was a Wayne ward until his 18 birthday)

#639 Mary “Legend” Kom is a player born in another PLANET, wins 7th medal and 6th world championship gold; Sonia grabs a silver which was icing on the cake; Rashid’s brilliance gives England great chance of a whitewash series win in Lanka; Taijul Islam has the last laugh in a spinning track in Bangladesh; City continue KING like run in EPL; Spurs shock Chelsea; Real Madrid are in REAL trouble now and more..:-)

Bangladesh were on backfoot by end of day 2 when they were placed at 55-5. Bangladesh needed 180 min to defend. Cameos by Mahmudullah and tail gave Bangladesh a lead of 203. Chasing 204, Bangladesh spinners reduced WI to 12-4. Heytmer and Ambris tried hard by playing aggressively but still lost by 64 runs. Taijul Islam bagged 6 fer to give another win at home. India have spinners to tackle at home with Shakib leading the pack. Taijul , Mehidi and Nayeem form a deadly combo with Shakib. Track was a poor one though . It was typical Bangladesh track where it helps spinners right from the start. It was turning square by end of day 1 itself.

Lanka started brilliantly. Karunaratne and De Silva had a massive 142 stand to take Lanka to 173-1. It looked like Lanka would take lead for sure. England had made 336. Rashid had other ideas. He triggered a major collapse. He grabbed 5 fer to dismiss Lanka to just 240. Stokes also grabbed a 3 fer. It was some collapse. This has been story of Lankan team in this series. They have showed sparks of brilliance but followed up with immature display. England have been lucky in last 8 matches in 1 aspect and that is toss. They have batted first 7 times in these matches.  That has given them a significant advantage. Batting last is always tough . They have played when the pitch is at its best and England bowlers made good use of cracks later on.

In 2nd test vs NZ, Pakistan chose to bat. Grandhomme reduced Pakistan to 25-2. Hafeez again disappointed. This could be his last chance. It’s staggering that Fakhar Zaman is again not in playing XI. Azhar and Haris then had 126 run stand. A run out and Patel dismissing Asad pushed Pakistan on the backfoot again. Pakistan ended day at 207-4. Haris was unbeaten at 81. He holds the key.

Mary Kom played her first world championships in 2002 when she won silver. She also has 5 gold medals. Another gold medal was on cards. She outclassed Hanna Okhota in 48 kg summit clash  in an unanimous 5-0 decision. This is her 7th medal, 6th gold and 2nd in front of home crowd(after 2006).  Katie Taylor held record for maximum gold medals (5 of them). Mary Kom beat her record . She is a legend in her own right. Hope she qualifies for Olympics and wins gold there too. Legend is a six letter word and Mary Kom has as many world titles. Legend with 7 letter name Mary Kom winning 7th medal is like 7th heaven moment in boxing world. It is as good as it gets.  Sonia Chahal won silver as he lost to Ornella 1-4. It was still a fabulous achievement by Sonal. She was just 5 years old when Mary Kom won her first world championship medal !!

In EPL, City continued their dream with a 4-0 thrashing to West Ham. Leroy Sane scored 2 goals. Liverpool continued their unbeaten EPL run with 3-0 win over Watford. ManU were held by Crystal Palace in goalless draw.  Shock of the day came when Spurs thrashed Chelsea 3-1. Harry Kane was in his zone which helped Spurs. This is Chelsea’s first loss in EPL this season. They now move to 4th spot. City still lead with 35 points, 2 points ahead of Liverpool. Spurs is 3rd with 30 points. In La Liga, Real Madrid horror run continued as Eibar humiliated them 3-0.  Athletico Marid held Barca to a 1-1 draw. Bara levelled the score in 90th minute. Had Athletico Madrid won, they would have topped La Liga table. But Barca now still lead by 1 point. Barca is looking vulnerable in pre Christmas season.
