Harold Preston Balthrop, Sr.
Goodlettsville, TN
Preston Balthrop, age 80 of Goodlettsville, born August 2, 1933 in Chapmansboro, TN to the late Lee Balthrop and Janie (Watts) Balthrop. He was a graduate of Coopertown HS and held many certifications and licenses in Real Estate and also as a Certified General Appraiser. He was a member of the Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed many friends in the Goodlettsville dining community at Liz’s and Hometown Café (at Mason’s Motel). Preston always brought joy, happiness and caring to all occasions and to everyone he met and knew.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bettye Ruth (Murphy) Balthrop. Brother Robert Balthrop of Waverly, TN, daughter Mary Jane Balthrop (Sherman Hanks), daughter Margaret Rhodes (Bill), son Hal (Kerri) all of Goodlettsville and son Bart (Julie) of White House. Grandchildren include Jason Garrison (Beth), Ashley Rhodes Hoover (Larry), Keely Balthrop Higbie (Michael), Caitlin Balthrop Moffitt (Josh), Halston Balthrop (Brittney), Tyler Balthrop, and six (6) great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by brothers Harry and Lowell and sisters Mildred Suell and Marcia Jean Toon.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 10, 2014 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm with service to immediately follow (all at the Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church). Interment will be at
