My experience with Tanks / Marvel Rivals:'

p.s. okay, hey, look. I swear, if you main a character, somehow you relate to them on some subconscious level. I didn't create the rules, this is just how life works.

Doctor Strange mains are usually the sweetest beings I've ever encountered, praising heals, making sure you are safe behind their shields. Though can be bossy. Mother hens of the team. Somehow just like Strange, Strange main will do their absolute best in the game, like the fate of the universe depends on it. I love you so much, even if you are dogshit, you are making this game playable. I'd die for you, but you won't let me.

Magneto are their evil version, won't talk to you the whole game, think they are invincible, but usually aren't toxic, just entitled, I guess? Usually they won't protect you the way Strange would.. Have at thee shield, idc, let me solo ult this Shark.

I don't know if I will ever encounter a Hulk main that is older than 15 years old. Can be toxic, just like hulk.

Captain America mains... do they exist? Usually the ones that play them are pretty chill, didn't encounter any toxicity. You know that your ulti is shit, so you take things into your own hands. They are either going 30/3/2, carrying your whole ass team, making your DPS look stupid, while being typical Captain America. It was just his job. Eagles are flying, somehow sunglasses fell on his face. Or he isn't aware of why he picked Cap, gets scared of too many buttons, cries and switches to Wolverine.

Venom. Out of all tanks, Venoms are usually the most talkative. Can talk shit, will talk shit. They are playing Venom usually because lol, ig our team needed a tank. *Annoyed sigh*. But the ones that really MAIN them, are usually so good you are starting to hear Eminem music. Sometimes your team starts to legit shake in fear, knowing nothing will kill that son of a bitch, like he has this little Dagger in his pocket that will heal him from 2 hp.

Thor. In my experience Thors are a combination of arrogant, defensive and agressive. I like having them on my team, usually they are an absolute menace. Thor will turn around to beat the absolute living shit out of that annoying Iron Fist bothering his healer ladies. Usually pretty bossy too, thinks that they are doing the most in the team. I had a few thor mains that literally wrote 'beware of god of thunder by the end of the game.' Thor mains and Hulk mains are the same people in my head.

Peni Parker okay, bestie, you know you are the best tank in the game, and you know you are good with your kit. Baddie! But I wouldn't say that you are entitled or arrogant. Usually Peni mains are pretty chill while doing their absolute best at the game. I don't think I've ever seen a Peni main spam "need healing".

Groots are a menace to societies, they need to be isolated. But like... Fr, they are usually very good at their kit. How does it feel to leave fortnite, darling? Ok, I'm done kidding. Groots wont protect you. Their mission is to make enemy Strange forget about tanking for the next week. What? You don't like to be cornered and made fun of because your heals literally can't reach you? Does it feel like I have a personal beef with Groots? But alright... Groots usually are very agressive at the gameplay and can talk shit in the chat.

Thank you and I hope you have fun with your matches as well, and hope you enjoy this! Loki is real fun personality wise, that sort of pompous, smug, and a bit self centered at times. but because of that it kinda makes him endearing. Kinda similar to Astarion from BG3 if you know about him

• Loki is very much the type who looks down on his fellow teammates, they practically need him to survive and are constantly in need of his guiding hand to get things done. Safe to say he has a bit of a.. complex.. It's easy to hear when he groans in frustration seeing those fools leave him alone on an abandon point. When seeing a new face on the team it doesn't spark much confidence, he could tolerate at least another support, but no it had to be another probably meat-headed tank. His expectations are low, at least hoping for the best that you are at least some what cognoscente to stay with in sight that he could heal you so you might prevent those annoying types from getting to his actual self or his illusionary doppelgangers

• It doesn't take long for him to find himself at a nice vantage point at the start of the match, away from most of the others battling while he keeps the team alive. That is until that pesky Spider-man notices his location, the young idiot webbing him instead of his illusions due to that bothersome spider sense of his. He knows calling out for help is practically pointless when everyone else's attention is elsewhere, he could fight as best he could against this irritating bug, but Spider-man already got his advantage. Just as the punch flies toward his face, Loki watches as his opponent is slammed into the other wall, and before him stands you.

• You quickly use your abilities to defeat the enemy spider, before giving him a smile and a thumbs up before going back to the fight with the others. Suffice to say, you jumped up on Loki's list of who he prioritizes keeping alive, Even if it was a one time thing. Perhaps he was just lucky you had caught it in time or you had already been targeting the Spider-man. Then it happens again, cornered with low health by that Dreaded Hulk, only for you to step between the two and give Loki some much needed breathing room.

• Loki quickly finds himself kept alive a lot more with you on the team. You're one of the few who bother to check in with the strategist like himself. What turns into keeping you alive as priority and conveniences turns into blatant favoritism. It's easy to see how smug he gets when you save him, healing you when you take a bit of damage over the clearly more injured Iron Fist. Safe to say you've found yourself in the graces of the God of Mischief. It's hard to know if that is really a good thing or not.

• Most notice the change but are smart enough not to comment on it, rather not prod at something that is at least beneficial. You're a solid fighter, and with Loki's healing, you can stay alive even when clearly outnumbered. He preens when ever you thank him for his help. Sure others have made sure to give thanks to the God for keeping them alive as they should, But when you do it, he can't help but feel a bit more pride, he can tell you are doing it not out of keeping his wrath at bay, but because you understand his role as the true leader of the team (his thoughts of course) In turn he will thank you in a less backhanded way that he would some of the others, after all, while he might not admit it, he has become fond of you.

I imagine a few maybe interactions of dialogue might be a mix of his odd praise so to speak

"Finally, someone I know will listen to commands unlike the rest of you"

"Ah there is my loyal subject, I trust you will keep your God safe yes?"

"Your talents are wasted on these fools, tell me, how would you like to be my most trusted knight? A king is not without his royal guard"

I have been practicing a lot on Marvel Rivals with Peni Parker and Iron Fist. Peni Parker is amazing with defending but sucks at attacking unless you find a good spot. With Iron Fist, it is a hit-and-run tactic! Find a Strategist or a Duelists and attack them and then get out!! Avoid Vanguard unless they are damaged or close to death!!

Obscure characters that could be a fun character in rivals: Dario Agger The Minotaur (+ some skin ideas related to this guy)

i got ya guys a vanguard option that could lead to some fun

you know the company Roxxon that you see as a background piece in most marvel anything

well in recent years they gained a CEO that kinda stole the show in my opinion (especially with some recent stories) that man being Dario Agger

Also known as the Minotaur (because he can turn into a minotaur)

now i imagine your wondering

how did he become a Minotaur what is his deal etc etc

well heres a bit from his wiki

"Dario Agger was born in Greece to rich parents. He spent most of his life on an island in the Aegean Sea. When he was 9 years old his entire family was killed by pirates. He alone escaped, hid in a nearby cave, and prayed for help. So yeah this is a proper big corporate villain (as i've noticed that most of the villains they do have so far are either ones who became good or just anti heroes) no proper big villains

and i feel like dario would fit well in that hole (as we are also low on vanguards)

so heres some moves i thought up for him (it will be a mix of his company's resources,his love for money,general bull stuff)

also for some clarification i see him fighting in the game as his minotaur form (perhaps being based on his scarred look from immortal thor since i really like that design)

first one i thought up for him is a bull charge (since its the most generic move you could give this man) mechanicaly i picture it working similar to wolverine's Feral Leap but more ground based (like its literally a bull charge of course you can't go flying in the air with it) perhaps another difference is maybe the move having more distance and perhaps being a bit slower then wolverine's pounce (but still pretty fast)

next move i thought up for him is a trap that works similarly to other traps (idk i don't use traps) but i had a idea of the trap being a literal pile of money

mainly because the idea sounded funny to me and i was kinda inspired by yakuza 0's money throw that was used to distract people (after all if a enemy team sees a pile of money on the floor they will be curious to check it out probably) not knowing what it does or maybe it could be a smoke screen move

another idea is kinda a basic one which is a shield move (probably given to himself and allies) with roxxon's tech that grants people the shields with some bonus HP (tbh i barely had any ideas for this one maybe you can give your takes)

his ULT is also something i havent really got a good handle of (one of the ideas i had was a literal air strike but tbh i don't really have any good ideas for a possible Ultimate)

now after describing some skills he could have i guess i could give you guys a good idea of what he is like as a character

and well i imagine most of the cast would absolutely despise the minotaur with how slimey and ego driven he is

he is literally the embodiment of "Evil megacorp" you'd see in a cyberpunk story dialed to 11 using the large resources of his corporate empire to basically do whatever the hell he wants

i can imagine specific dialogue to hulk and thor would probably reference some stuff from immortal hulk and thor respectfully

i can see him also being a good jab at stuff like the corporations who tried to do this hero shooter idea and failed miserably at it after all he does not give a shit about stuff that need love and effort given to it

he does not see art as art just content

so i can see his dialogue being a mesh of whats wrong with a lot of the industry molded into one person

after all:

he is also a character with bloodlust (which i kinda thought of maybe being adapted gameplay wise and his defeat dialogue kinda like wolverine's berserker rage but i am unsure)

there is also another reason i kinda want this guy

which involves the fact that recently he made a bootleg thor that would actually be a good thor skin

and this idea sparked a idea of "what if the MCU avengers founders had a "Roxxon Presents:" skins"

and tbh the visual of a entire skin line of bastardized version of marvel characters sounds like a fun gag (heck maybe his launch skin is a roxxon presents version of him)

roxxon thor could have this as a MVP

and maybe hulk can get a skin inspired by weapon H (since when the hell will they use weapon H as its literally hulk + wolverine)

anyways i also had a idea of Dario's MVP having him making it rain

maybe with his launch skin's MVP having him literally do the ducktales money dive

since tbh Agger feels like a good gag character while being 100% serious after all dude has this Johnny Cage level Ego about himself and does not view his enemies with any respect

So yeah thats bascially all i had on Dario Agger a character who has become one of my top picks for Marvel Rivals by his cocky slimeball personality and how much hes loving it

and plus he sounds like a fun vanguard option that could have some fun dialogue with the rest of the cast and still be a villain to them

also a team up option he could have is one with enchantress (as a nod to immortal thor) not sure what particular ability he could have but the idea feels fitting

Too many douche gamers kept skipping over the Doctor Strange character in Marvel Rivals (thanks again, for DS2 and the crap representation of such a cool character, Disney. Do better in 3, please) But, it turns out that the MR Strange is pretty beastly. He's got some cool features and a hang tough quality. I actually wish I could play it. I haven't played any video games since God of War.

⛓️‍💥 LUKE CAGE in Marvel Rivals style ⛓️‍💥

As you can probably tell, I am having an absolute blast with this side project, and it’s giving me a lot of opportunity to not only try a different art style, but to draw characters I usually don’t or haven’t before. Which is always a good thing.

This week I decided on Luke Cage. Honestly surprised I haven’t seen any fan concepts for him already, or that he isn’t a confirmed character already somewhere down the line. With Iron Fist already in the game it just made sense.

Naturally he’s a Vanguard, and uses the chain to pull enemy characters to him, either away from the point or away from team mates. Figured he can have some sort of whip attack with it, or maybe part of the environment can attach to the end of it like a wrecking ball for some extra damage.

His passive would be bulletproof, and always active, where he has a massive defence against characters with guns (Black Widow, Winter Soldier, Punisher and maybe Star Lord?) say like 60% damage reduction or something, even against ults. Meaning you can’t get mowed down completely by Star Lord or Punisher attacks, meaning the enemy team expends all of the attacks on you, or has to switch characters.
