Stay Forever

pairing: lee seokmin x fem!reader (told in third person)

warnings: there are no warnings, but there is a small sword fighting scene - nothing graphic though!

author’s note: i have been planning this and stressing over this for so long, it feels great to finally post it! this is written for @ficscafe ’s royalty au drabble event! thank you @cha-lan for beta reading & editing (and writing the chan part towards the end) for me (ily lannie & this is for you!! <3), along with @minghaofilm for editing and @sanshiine for beta reading!! (thank you all so much!!)

this is based heavily off of “17″ by Pink Sweat$ ft. Joshua & DK of SEVENTEEN. The title is also from that song. You can find the whole playlist for this drabble HERE.

The throne room was large. The golden trim seemingly glowed around the ceilings, and the red velvet curtains blocked out the blinding sun from being too overbearing on one’s eyes. In the back of the room on a higher platform were two thrones: the one on the left was larger than the one on the right, and was adorned with more embellishments carved into its golden-stained wood.

Sitting in the larger throne was an older man in his early nineties; a shiny crown sat lightly on his white hair, gleaming in the sun. Next to him on the smaller throne was a woman about the same age—her hair pulled back and out of her face, the crown on her head sparkling. Sitting in the woman’s lap were two small children, both slightly above the age of ten.

The man beamed at the children, his smile bright and full of love. “Do you want to hear a story?”

The children giggled, their loud, high-pitched voices echoing off of the walls and throughout the room. “Yes, please, Grandpa! Tell us a story!”

"Well, it all started when your Grandmother and I were very young," the man began. "Before your grandmother and I met, she was living in a faraway place with your Uncle Junnie."

The first thing Seokmin noticed about sitting at the round table in the conference room was the uncomfortable surface he was forced to perch on. You'd think as a prince living in a palace that he'd get to sit on something softer or more comfortable, but no, the King had to make him sit on the same uncomfortable wooden chairs for hours, pretending to listen to any of the information that was being said to him.

"Seokmin? Are you even paying attention to what we are talking about?"

Seokmin snapped out of his daydream and lifted his head off of his palm to look up at his father.

“Oh! Um, yeah—yes. Of course, I’m paying attention.”

The King rolled his eyes but continued to catch Seokmin up to speed with the conversation.

“So, as you know, the Queen of Shenzhen—along with her son and daughter—are going to be visiting soon,” the King explained. “We are going to hold a ball when they get here. It will be used to announce a wedding.”

The Prince looked over at his father, tilted his head slightly to the left and raised his brow. “A wedding? For who?”

His father coughed slightly and glared at the younger boy, "You and the princess, of course."

With that, the King stood up and walked out, leaving his middle son to sit in the still uncomfortable chair of the conference room, staring off into space.

Hours later, Seokmin was found in his older brother's bedroom. Most of Jihoon's belongings were not in the palace anymore but in the neighboring Kingdom's, leaving the room to look as if Jihoon didn’t live there for almost twenty years.

As Jihoon was unpacking some of the clothes he brought for his stay, Seokmin and their youngest brother, Chan, sat on his bed.

The youngest patted his hand on Seokmin’s knee, “When did father say you were getting married?”

“In, like, four days! I haven’t even met the princess yet!”

Jihoon sighed, “I can’t believe he’s doing this again.”

Seokmin rolled his eyes, “Tell me about it. It made sense for the eldest sibling to go through an arranged marriage, not that any of us liked putting you through that, but why me too?”

“It’s probably because Father wants someone to be in charge here after he’s gone, and it obviously can’t be hyung if he’s living in another kingdom,” Chan looked over at Seokmin. “And I am way too young to get married–”

“When do the prince and princess arrive?” Jihoon interrupted his youngest brother.

“Tomorrow. The Queen is arriving the day before the wedding. Father says that gives us time to get acquainted with them.”

Jihoon turned around and moved his gaze from the closet he was putting clothes into and to his brothers’ faces. “It can’t be that bad to at least meet them, Seok.”

“I just don’t want to get married, hyung. I don’t know this person, and I’m only nineteen!”

“It’ll get better, hyung,” Chan started. “I mean, they can’t force you to get married.”

Seokmin opened his mouth to protest but was interrupted by a knock on the large, wooden doors of the bedroom.

“It must be time for dinner, let’s go,” Jihoon told his brothers, setting the clothes hanger that was in his hand down onto the bed, and walked towards the door.

“So?” the youngest of the two kids questioned the older man. “Did the prince ever meet the princess?”

“Of course he did!” The man exaggerated his words for the children’s entertainment.

“Tell us that story, Grandma!”

“Okay, Okay. When the princess met the prince, she was very—how do I say this?—surprised.”

On the day the Queen’s children arrived, Seokmin was pleased to have met the prince, Junhui, before he met the princess. The two bonded fairly quickly over their enjoyment of sports: Seokmin with sword fighting and Junhui with martial arts.

Seokmin had offered to show Junhui around the palace, their last stop being the training grounds where Junhui suggested that Seokmin teach him some sword fighting.

Seokmin quickly agreed, taking Junhui to the armory to get proper protective equipment and swords. They spent most of their time outside on the battleground, swords in hand and padded gear covering their bodies. The blazing sun made Seokmin start to sweat the more he moved to practice attacking his dueling partner.

He had easily disarmed Junhui, the elder’s inexperience in the sport evident; Seokmin took his sword and used it against his opponent. One sword in the prince's left hand, the blade behind Junhui’s neck, and the one in his right hand pointed towards his rival's chest; the edge only centimeters away from his protective gear. Seokmin smirked at Junhui's scared expression and lowered the weapons, holding his left hand out for his opponent to take his sword back.

Suddenly, the sound of clapping echoed around him, forcing Seokmin to look around his surroundings. His eyes focussed on a woman, no older than nineteen, who was applauding almost sarcastically at the display of Seokmin’s skill.

He slid his sword back into the sheath that was slung over his shoulder, the blade resting on his back. With long strides, he walked away from the battleground and towards the woman, only stopping when he was a few feet away from her, a dazzling smile on his face.

Seokmin bowed, “What can I do for you, miss?”

“Oh, today is my first day here. I was just exploring. The other people seem to gravitate towards you, you know.”

Seokmin chuckled. “Being a prince—specifically one who knows their way with a weapon—does that to you.”

The woman’s eyes widened a bit. “You wouldn’t happen to be Seokmin, would you, Your Highness?”

“I am. Were you expecting one of my brothers instead?”

“Um, not exactly,” she began. “I’m Y/N. Princess Y/N, from Shenzhen.”

══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════ ══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════

The night following Y/N and Junhui’s arrival at the palace was a ball. His father had encouraged him to host some type of gathering to announce the wedding, and at this point, there was nothing Seokmin could really do besides agree.

He had only spoken with the princess a few times; her calm and collected voice intimidated Seokmin a bit, not that he would admit to that. When introducing themselves at dinner later the night they met, she had expressed her love of sword fighting: it one of the main reasons that the battleground was the first place she explored when she arrived. Seokmin had wondered why he had never met the princess earlier in his life, especially since they both shared this hobby.

Seokmin's mother made it clear—he was supposed to dance with Y/N for most of the night. The strict woman also made sure to make it very clear:

"Do not, and I mean do not try to sneak out as your brother did. You know exactly how your father reacted to that, and we do not want to see that again."

Of course, Seokmin rolled his eyes at that. He was not making any promises.

Though, when it was time to get ready for the ball, Seokmin started to become impatient. He, surprisingly, was excited to see the princess again. He had never had someone that truly had the same love for sword fighting as he did, besides the generals and other soldiers—such as his close friend, Joshua. He couldn’t wait to talk to the princess about their mutual love of the sport.

While Seokmin was getting ready for the ball in his bedroom—with the help of his best friends, Soonyoung and Seungkwan, of course—Y/N was on the other side of the castle, Seokmin’s mother helping her with her ball gown.

The dress was beautiful; the light reflected off the golden fabric and made the small sequins on the lace sleeves sparkle. The bodice of the gown was fairly plain, the off-the-shoulder neckline showing off the golden necklace that Y/N wore. The skirt of the dress, however, was the most beautiful part of the outfit. With a slim silhouette only going out a few inches around Y/N’s feet, the skirt's fabric floated slightly above the floor.

When looking at herself in the mirror, Y/N had not failed to tell the Queen about how much she loved the dress her future mother-in-law had picked out for her.

“Even the fabric shines in the sun,” Y/N had told the Queen. “It’s beautiful!”

The Queen was not going to argue with the princess.

══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════ ══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════

The ballroom of the castle was similar to many of its other rooms. The golden trim near the ceilings glowed, and the red velvet curtains blocked the sun from reaching the room. The colorful mural on the ceiling encouraged guests to look up and admire all the small details.

Along the middle of the ceiling were three large crystal chandeliers, illuminating the room with a glow. Towards the left side of the room was a grand staircase, comparable to something out of a fairytale. The marble flooring matched the marble stairs; the steps led to a balcony that circled above the main level of the room. On the right side of the room on the platform were three thrones. They were smaller compared to the ones found in the throne room but just as elegant. Connected to the stairs was a hallway leading deeper into the castle on the next floor.

The room was crowding up fast; different people from all over the kingdom arrived at the ball to hear the surprise that the prince had planned to announce. Everywhere Seokmin looked, he saw fancy gowns and hands holding champagne flutes.

For the next while, Seokmin continued to stand at the side of the room close to the exit, greeting people as they walked in. He recognized some of the people as council members with which he and the King would have meetings. Others he recognized as villagers from the many outings he had taken to the outdoor markets deeper in the kingdom.

As he was greeting people, he began to wonder, “Where is the princess?”

Though, all of a sudden—

══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════ ══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════

“Did the prince see the princess wearing her big ball gown and—oh! Was the princess wearing glass slippers? Was she, Grandpa? Was she? Was she?!” the older of the two children began to tug on the man’s sleeve, demanding an answer that was enough to satisfy the child’s ever-growing imagination.

“Yes, sweetheart. The prince did, in fact, see the princess standing at the top of those marble stairs. I don’t know about the glass slippers, though.”

“I can promise you I would never wear glass slippers to a ball. It may have worked in fairytales, but I would have tripped over that dress so quickly,” the woman sat next to the white-haired Seokmin spoke up, patting his arm to interrupt him from continuing the story.

“What about the rest of the ball?” the other child asked. “Did the prince dance with the princess?”

“Oh, of course, he did. The prince couldn’t leave someone as beautiful as the princess waiting.”

══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════ ══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════

As Y/N walked closer to Seokmin, he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. When she was only a few feet away from him, she smiled. Seokmin held his hand out to her, and she took it, coming closer to him. He moved his hands to Y/N’s waist, and she wrapped her arms around his neck, careful to not accidentally hit his crown.

“Good evening, Princess,” Seokmin’s eyes morphed into crescents as the sides of his mouth lifted. “You look beautiful tonight.”

Y/N laughed, “Thank you, Your Highness. Her Majesty helped me with it.”

“Mother. What can’t that woman do?”

As the music started to get heavier, Prince Chan yelped out from across the room. Seokmin and Y/N glanced in his direction, only to see the youngest brother hopping with his foot in his hand, face morphed with pain.

“I’m sorry!” another young guest exclaimed, her hands held out to try to stabilize the boy.

“Have I ever mentioned how glad I am that you don’t step on my feet while we dance?”

“Don’t push your luck, Your Highness," Y/N giggled, a sudden sly smirk upon her lips. "You never know what could happen.”

Seokmin and Y/N proceeded to glide across the marble floors; their conversation continued all while the prince's heart raced.

"So, how do you feel about your first dance here in the palace?" Seokmin questioned.

"Hm," Y/N began. "I think it's going pretty great. I didn't know you could dance.”

"It's mandatory for royals to learn here," he hummed. "I've known how to dance since I was seven."

Y/N's eyes widened, and silence ensued. Suddenly, Y/N leaned forward and rested her head on Seokmin's chest, his heart beating loudly into her ear. The two stayed like this for a while until the next song played, and Seokmin spoke up once again.

"My father wants me to use this to announce the wedding," Seokmin looked down at Y/N. "Do you want that?"

Y/N hummed. "I don't see why I can't learn to love someone like you, Your Highness."

Seokmin's heartbeat sped up as he moved his hand from Y/N's waist to her chin, making her face him. He bent down, his lips centimeters from hers and—

══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════ ══════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ═══════

"Ew! Cooties!"

The two elders laughed at their grandchildren's exclamation.

"Yes, kids. Cooties. Now, don't you think about doing that until you are much, much, much older, you hear?"

"Yes, Grandpa!" the eldest giggled.

"But did the prince and the princess ever get their happily ever after?" the younger questioned, pouting at her Grandparents.

"Of course they did!" Y/N told the child, running her hand through their hair.

“The end?”

“The end.”

“Oh! I guess I showed up at a wonderful time! C’mon kiddos, time for bed!”

The kids turned their heads to face the doorway.

“Uncle Jun!” They bolted towards the door to greet their Uncle, throwing quick goodnights and goodbyes before exiting the room. Junhui waved to the married couple and followed after the children.

Seokmin glanced over at his wife, shot her a wink and said, "Please, princess, forever stay with me like this."

What are the gym leaders' hobbies? What do they like to do in their downtime?

Very interesting. Is it just me or do these gym leaders have more personality than the generations before them? I haven’t played every pokemon game, though, so what do I know?

Milo:

-Cross stitching. He’s the guy to talk to if your grandma wants something to hang in her kitchen.

-Bee keeping. One more think to add to his farm. But honey you get yourself tastes all the sweeter, if you ask him. The gym leaders happily accept free jars of craft lavender honey when the harvest is good.

Nessa:

-Herping. Herping is the activity of looking for reptiles and amphibians, and honestly, same. She can’t get enough of those funky little lizards.

-Hiking. Going for a hike in the mountains is always a good time. Fresh air, good exercise, and beautiful scenery. Honestly, same again, though.

Kabu:

-Reading. It’s his favorite thing to do to pass the time. Keeps his mind sharp and a good story is always entertaining.

-Glassblowing. Man’s cupboards are full of glasses he made himself. It’s fun and practical to Kabu to make his own glass ornaments or other glass things he can use. He’s got a beautiful vase that he made himself that his guests always marvel at.

Bea:

-Archery. Yeah, martial arts are cool, but bows and arrows are always fun to handle. It’s also improved several practical skills of hers.

-Rock climbing. There’s no better place for rock climbing than Stow-on-Side. It’s a test of endurance and strength and there’s something exhilarating about being at the edge of a cliff you just climbed up. Empowering.

Allister:

-Ghost hunting. He likes to go to supposedly haunted places and try to find ghosts. He’s pretty good at it, too.

-Urban exploration. He likes creepy abandoned places, even if they’re not haunted. He doesn’t get to do this much, though, since it can be pretty dangerous.

Opal:

-Knitting. What old lady doesn’t knit? She makes cute little scarves and socks for her pokemon. She doesn’t share, though, don’t ask.

-Coin collecting. After all the years she’s spent collecting coins, she’s got a pretty impressive collection. She’s only missing a few and it makes her angry that people don’t appreciate her collection.

Melony:

-Also knitting, but she does it to give to other people. Go and visit her and you’ll leave with a fantastic knitted treasure. You will appreciate what she gives you.

-Ice skating. She’s done it since she was a little girl, and she continues to share it with her children. She has many fond memories of ice skating.

Gordie:

-Rock collecting. Bring him a nice rock. He will appreciate it. Again, same.

-Gardening, surprisingly. Milo got him hooked on it. Fresh sugar snap peas right off the plant are the best. There’s something special about bringing your friends and family food you grew yourself. Seeing them enjoy something you put so much work into is really satisfying.

Piers:

-A lot of people don’t know this, but he likes knife throwing. In a rough town like Spikemuth, it comes in handy, too. He usually only has a pocket knife on him, but if you endanger Marnie and he has access to throwing knives, watch out.

-I’ll say it once, I’ll say it a thousand times, gymnastics. He does it to keep fit as a gym leader, but it’s really something he enjoys doing. He’s flexible and strong because of it and pretty proud. He also shares this hobby with Marnie, which makes it special.

Raihan:

-Reading. Specifically history. He loves history so much it’s not even funny. He’s got so much history trivia he could talk your ear off for hours. You’ll be so sick of his voice it’ll make you nauseous. No one knows how Leon doesn’t vomit the second Raihan mentions the Hammerlocke Archives.

-Astronomy. He got hooked on this after he read about nomads who navigated with the stars. The heavens have a lot of influence on the past, so he thought it would be a cool talent. It’s also a good skill in case he ever gets lost in the wilderness.

Leon:

-Baking, surprisingly. He’s got a crazy sweet tooth, and while he can’t exactly eat whatever he wants, a home baked from scratch batch of brownies never hurt anybody. When he visits his brother, Hop demands he makes Hop’s favorite chocolate chip cookies in the world, which he does happily.

-Longboarding. Well, not very much anymore, but he’s still pretty good at it if he gets the chance. Beats walking, anyway.

Hobbies are good. Hobbies are fun. I encourage you all to get hobbies. Look for some funky little lizards, too. You won’t be disappointed.

Something they don’t like: Mulan is not a fan of those who lie. She does her best to try to be herself and prefers to be honest over lying to someone. She also is not not a huge fan of hurting others, especially when she knows that there was another way of handling the situation. Hobbies / activities: Mulan is a huge fan of horseback riding, archery, martial arts, sword fighting. But she also enjoys going to hang out with her friends, especially to eat, spending time with those she cares about. She loves watching cdrama, jdramas & kdramas. She loves to travel, and is down for a sense of adventure.

However, she does want to get married ( she is ), but she never truly thought about it until after meeting her said partner, because she realized it was them that she had wanted to be with. Are you named after anyone? Non! My legal middle name is my grandma's maiden name (it's a thing with her kids and her kids' kids?) and I stole it for my first name so I guess technically I'm named after her but ew- I consider myself to be named after myself lol

Favorite subject at school? For the class, probably French. For the subject, psych or biology. Hopefully I'll be able to take Anatomy & Physiology virtually over the summer, I think I'll like that a lot!

Dream job? Medicine for sure. I like the idea of being a family medicine physician in a rural setting. I also really like activism, specifically relating to mental health and queer rights, so I'd want to see how I could incorporate the two. I'll probably end up owning my own practice (hopefully!)

The Princess Diaries (2001)

And now for a grown man to review a turn of the millennium film where Anne Hathaway finds out she’s actually a princess. It’s Disney’s Princess Diaries.

Mia (Anne Hathaway) is a regular, schlumpy teenager. She has bad hair, a retainer, goofy glasses, few friends, and a weird artist of a mother (Caroline Goodall). She pines after the hottest guy in class (Erik von Detten) and frequently finds herself in embarrassing situations. A few weeks away from her sixteenth birthday, she receives word that her absentee grandmother (Julie Andrews) is coming to visit. Upon her arrival, she informs Mia that she is the princess of Genovia.

This premise is a dream-come-true if you’re a prepubescent girl and hackneyed for everyone else. Apparently, Mia didn’t even go to her father’s funeral when he died a few months ago, otherwise, she would've realized who she was. Or maybe she didn't want to, as he was the ultimate deadbeat dad. Dude lived in a castle and never invited her over, citing it would spoil her. As for Grandma, she's made no efforts to contact her granddaughter until absolutely necessary.

Mia’s character isn’t particularly interesting because she’s bland in an effort to make her more relatable to the audience. She isn’t actually ugly because that would require her to get plastic surgery (Something that’s expensive) in order to become the beautiful swan that she will be in the end. She just needs a good makeover and BAM! Total hottie. She’s clumsy (to the point of barely functional as she accidentally sets a man on fire at one point), shy, not particularly interested or good at sports and has no discernable hobbies except for pining after the cutest guy in school. It’s basically the female protagonist from every bad romantic comedy shrunk down to high-school size. The rest of the characters are similarly cliché. Grandma is stern but grows soft as she spends more time with her granddaughter. Who knew that to turn a crotchety older lady into a sweet grandmother, all you needed to do was ride in a junker of a car for an afternoon and chomp on some hot dogs? Mia’s mom is an artist that loves to do quirky, eccentric paintings that may or may not embarrass her daughter... if she ever wandered outside of the house. Mia’s best friend Lily (Heather Matarazzo) is primarily in the movie to give a few words of advice and have a scene where Mia’s princess life interferes with their friendship. Not much else really. It’s all stuff you’ve seen before, many, many times.

I am not the intended audience for the film. That only goes so far. Even someone who is not into martial arts action films can see a film featuring Jackie Chan to recognize the fantastic stunt work. You don't have to be a musician to appreciate the songs in a musical. You can understand the appeal of Princess Diaries, but there’s nothing about it that stands out. It’s just a junior version of a better movie. Which one? Take your pic! There are countless films and television shows with a premise so similar to this film’s that you can see pretty much every plot point coming.

A major issue with the film that I had was Mia’s attitude towards the whole princess thing. Seriously? You get news from your Grandmother that you can leave high school and go live in a castle, wear real jewelry and one day inherit the power to rule a country and you say you’re not interested? Come on!

Princess Diaries does have a few charming moments, mostly due to the cast. Particularly strong are Anne Hathaway (in her screen debut) and Julie Andrews. It’s harmless and mostly tolerable for adults, but there’s nothing to this and the idea of paying to see the film in theaters or to buy it on DVD is scandalous. Had it not been for the star power, it would fade into obscurity. Princess Diaries is just kind of bland in the end. (On DVD, September 24, 2014)

University FMA AU

Shoutout to @liquidstar , this monstrosity started because of your post about how Furey must have a podcast in any modern AU. I thank you so much.

Hohenheim is a famous chemistry professor who always lectures all around the world, so he’s never around. Trisha is a stay-at-home mum. Winry’s parents joined some program of doctors who fly around the world, to treat people in third world countries.

Trisha dies, as she does, in an outbreak of some sort. Winry’s parents die from some tropical disease around the same time. Since Hohenheim isn’t around and Trisha is dead, Ed and Al are put in a foster home. They get lucky, and their foster parents are a delightfully weird couple, a big, bulky man and a woman who looks so thin and small in comparison but in truth is quite well built. She’s also pretty ill.

Izumi and Sig love them as their own, and treat them well. Sig is gentle and quiet, supporting them silently and mostly showing his love and care with physical gestures, like rubbing their heads or hugging them. Izumi is tougher, sharp witted and tongued, but when they need her, she would always be there for them with a gentle word of advice, or just an understanding hug. She can never have biological children after going through a stillbirth that almost killed her.

Anyway, she homeschools Ed and Al, and because they’re quick learners and she’s a great teacher, they finish all their education very early. Winry is also homeschooled, as the small village they’re from doesn’t have much of a school, and Pinako couldn’t part with the only family she had left. So Winry, also an extremely fast learner, finishes her education at around the same speed, while also learning from her grandma who is a prosthetist, cause she fell in love with the professions she grew up around.

While Ed and Al were with Izumi, Ed got injured in his left leg. It got severely infected, and had to be cut off. While Al appeared to handle the loss of their mother as well as you can expect a child, the time Ed spent hospitalised and practically on the brink of death due to sepsis, on top of the not-so-resolved issues of his mother’s death, was a huge hit on his mental health. He spent long periods of time dissociating, even after Ed got better and wasn’t in danger. He got the therapy he needed, and all the support of his loving families, and is doing much better now. Ed got a prosthetic leg fitted for him by Pinako and Winry.

Ed and Al are still great friends with Winry, even though they don’t meet as much because they live pretty far from each other. They talk a lot on the phone, and also visit each other sometimes.

They take whatever exams they need to take to qualify as “I finished my high school education”, and apply to the same university. Ed and Al are going to study chamistry cause fuck their old man but they’re good at it, and Izumi taught them a bunch cause she studied it herself and loves the subject. Winry is studying to become a prosthetist, so she has a long way to go (she needs a master’s degree to actually practice).

Enter Roy. Roy is an assistant professor to professor Hawkeye. The professor is sick and old and looks kinda dead inside. Riza, his daughter, is definitely NOT studying chemistry, and seems to be fairly cold toward her father, but she hangs around the back of the class when she’s not busy. She’s a martial arts teacher, and also a competitive archer in her free time. And if you think the assistant professor doesn’t steal glances at her biceps when she’s wearing a tank top, you are sorely mistaken. They’ve been going circles around each other for years now, and everyone who knows them is just waiting for them to KISS ALREADY GOD DAMMIT STOP LOOKING AT EACH OTHER LIKE THAT OVER THE CLASS IT MAKES EVERYONE UNCOMFORTABLE.

Roy’s best friend Maes is doing his post doctorate in law. He married one of his old classmates, who is now a lawyer. He’s notorious for gushing over his family with anyone who would listen to him. Alex Louis Armstrong is an art student, and his older sister Olivier constantly calls him a wuss and a disgrace to the family because he’s been studying for years and not taking enough courses for her taste every year (she herself studies at a breakneck speed, and is one of the youngest professors in her chosen field, which I don’t know yet). Falman is a history student. Havoc is still “figuring himself out” and taking a bunch of seemingly disconnected courses. Breda is studying culinary. Furey studies communication, and as a hobby he has a podcast.

Now, he didn’t exactly know what he wants to do with his podcast, so he asked a Breda and Falman, who he knew before, to help him get interesting people for his podcast and they’ll see what they can do. So Farman talks to Havoc, who’s you’re “guy who knows a guy” type of person, so he talks to Riza about it, and she decides to bring Roy and Maes in on it. Maes decides that the two literal kids Roy’s been telling him about need to get a life outside of studying, so he invites them too. Ed doesn’t want to, but Winry forces him to, and comes with. Meanwhile, Breda asked Alex Armstrong, and he dragged two younger students, Dan and Maria, who are just really intimidated by how intense he is.

So Furey is going to the place he set to meet with Farman and Breda, thinking they’ll bring like two other people or something, and is met with a member of the faculty, that intimidating lady he saw around sometimes carrying a large bow, a dude with a comically long string of family photos, a giant muscle man with a magnificent moustache, three normal looking people, and three literal teenagers, one of which has a kickass steampunk-looking prosthetic leg. And also his two friends. Difinitely NOT what he expected, but... hey, you know what? He’snot going to complain. He asked for interesting people, and it looked like that’s EXACTLY what he got.

Somewhere along the line Ling (a foreign student studying chemistry just to satisfy his rich father so he’ll get some of the inheritance), along with his girlfriend Lan Fan and his half sister Mei (who actually LIKES chemistry and won’t let her older half brother outshine her) joined (Ling and Lan Fan were tailing Ed cause Ling needs help with the material, and Mei developed a not-so-subtle crush on Al). Olivier Armstrong also participated in one or two episodes, just because Roy dared her, and she actually likes Riza. Her two assistants, a mountain of a man called Buccaneer and an neat-looking man called Miles, shared a few anecdotes too. Scar is a refugee Winry’s parents treated before they died (he did NOT kill them here), and Mei just casually starts talking to that creepy tattooed dude who’s lurking around the place. He turns out to be a pretty okay dude.

Anyway, just... shenanigans ensue. This is a wacky group of young people messing around on a podcast. Sometimes they play a roleplaying game, DnD style, and the campaign is basically the series. The characters who don’t show up as often as the core crew are just people who can’t show up to every recording session because they’re falling behind in their studies. Tucker is based on the creepy biology professor who started interrogating Ed about his prosthetic for way too long and whose daughter just hung around the campus after school and he never payed attention to her (Ed almost beat Furey up after the Nina part of the campaign cause THAT WAS NOT COOL). Maes got his character killed off on purpose pretty early on. He discussed it with Furey up ahead, since he knew he’ll be working his ass off with his research, so he couldn’t really keep coming for recording for too long. Roy, being the drama queen he is, decided to on the spot make it his character’s life mission to discover who murdered his best friend and avenge his death. Scar is an NPC, based on the actual Scar since before they knew him, and the more they got to know him the more his redemption arc continued. (Winry and Mei spearhead that one, because they’re the ones who got to know him the most).

A3 : I’d blame having gone to Mateus at all with my Avwalya alt, visiting @seeker-of-sights wedding, and going to @yuki-yukichan ‘s house warming kicked off my RP writing in ffxiv, and it has just kept on rolling from there.

A4 : I made her as she is because that was what my previous firran Avwalya character from Arche Age was like. Only difference is my previous character was a Paladin, albeit with a short spear and shield.

A5 : She usually internalizes her grievances but doesnt really give them an outlet per say, even with everything she doesn’t usually share these, except with those she is very close with.

A6 : I`d say we share some personality traits though she differs in some ways.

A7 : She would probably wonder why do I take so many pictures of her.

1. Are you named after someone?

No, but there’s a story behind my name. My belated grandmother gave me my name (first and middle names). This year I found out that her brother had given to his daughter (my father’s cousin) the exact same name as I have. So, either my grandmother and her brother knew a person who had the same name as I do, and they wanted pass that name on. Other option is that my grandma simply stole the name from her brother :D

2. When was the last time you cried?

Few nights ago. Had a dream which upset me and I woke up in tears. Nothing serious, just the raging hormones.

3. Do you have kids?

No, never will.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I don’t think so?

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

The general feeling/vibe. That can’t be hidden nor faked.

Grey

7. Scary movie or happy ending?

Scary movie! ...Though there really aren’t any scary movies for me. Knowing about paranormal things makes horror movies mostly comedy or face palm-movies or “Well, that’s your own fault”-movies. Thrillers I do enjoy!

I can do tarot readings, past life readings. I can read people like open book from photos whether I want or not. I’m synesthethic but I don’t think that is a talent, because talent is something you can learn if you practice.

OH! I can tell the time without taking a look at a clock, even after waking up. Every hour has a feeling of its own to me, so I just sense how the air feels like and I know how much the clock is. If I fail to do that, then I know I’m either getting sick, being sick or I’m closing a burn out.

Collecting stickers, collecting obscure history books and now I want to collect Dogmen books too, drawing, sometimes I write and play games. Oh and I travel regularly to meet up foreign friends at their homes.

I went to naginata (Japanese spear) martial arts for a while, but unfortunately teaching was non-existing. Wasn’t very motivating or good for self-esteem, so I quit it. I still have the practice weapon, though. I might want to start it again someday, IF they can arrange beginner classes or IF I move to other country where I can take the lessons under other teachers.

lantern - how did you meet your best friend? What were your first impressions of each other?

I met my best friend at a reading club and we just discovered we had a lot of similar opinions on stuff. @thatswhatsherlockiansdoo is amazing and you should all go follow her!

frost - if you could give some advice to your younger self, what would you say?

I would probably tell myself to stop being so shy and talk to people, because hoping that some things will happen isn’t how you get them to happen.

maple - is there a hobby / skill that you’ve always wanted to try but never did?

Martial arts. It just seems so fascinating to me.

harvest - what fictional character do you most identify with? Why?

Cath from Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, she just reminds me of myself so much.

just a comfy leather jacket and a dress and cool shoes.

Spinach. I have no idea why, but it is like that.

Twilight wasn’t terribly bad, it was (maybe a little below) average and people just love hating things if they’re cliché.

I’d hide somewhere with oreos, microwave pasta and water and cry until its over. So, probably not too good.

I have to say my childhood crush Emma Watson. She’s just so beautiful.

When I was about five, I was very sure that my grandma’s house was haunted.

I wish I was good at chemistry, cause its generally interesting, but I’m just not good at it.

I really wanna live in a big city in a not so big apartment but I could also imagine living in a house in the country, just depends if I’m living alone or not because I hate living alone.

cinnamon - if you had to live in a time period different than the present, which would you choose and where?

I think I’d like to live in the 1920s, just because that timeperiod is so interesting.

cobweb - (if you’ve graduated) do you miss high school?

(Haven’t graduated yet but I don’t think I’ll miss all the stress)

My eyes. They’re just green, but that’s what people say.

I saw a lady tell a story to her baby in a high squeaky voice while telling her son to stop running around with his paper sword because he was being “too loud”.

quilt - how do you take your tea (or coffee)?

With lots of milk and sugar.

I think that most humans turn out to be good but that is because of the events that shaped them. I try to think the best of most people tho.

moonlit - are you a neat or messy person? Is your room / house orderly?

I’m terribly messy.

Not really.

cocoa - if you could have any type of hair, what colour and cut would you have?

I would really love to have really really curly hair just because it looks so freaking cool.

ghost - is there someone that you miss having in your life?

Well not that there is someone I miss having in my life, its more like I miss having someone physically by my side.
