okay karma/no country andor time. alternate outfits and design notes under the cut
the jacket was steve's, once upon a time - it's my replacement for the Jesus Robes, something that andor ended up in after the inertia and never gave back
the lip scar will be explained Soon.
sibling braids got explained here, but i'm pretty sure that i haven't actually used them in k/nc yet. they are there, though.
the colored lines are tr and martha's eye levels with good posture, not their full heights or normal level. jordan shrimp posture.
i was gonna base the angel ring off of a bird that makes more sense for andor's character arc but then the barn owl just kinda happened and jordan made it mid-s2 anyway so. i will just do whatever i want forever
immediately after getting back from the inertia, everyone scrambles to find smth for andor to wear. Green Fucking Shorts who i only know Green Fucking Sweats

Grab your snacks, ‘cause it’s Superb Owl Sunday! 🦉 From scorching deserts to frozen tundras and everywhere in between, owls can be found in some of the world’s most diverse habitats. They’ve also been around for… a while. In fact, scientists have discovered fossilized owl remains that are approximately 60 million years old! You don’t have to worry about your comedy skills around owls, either. Because their eyes are so large, they can’t roll in their sockets! So no matter how bad the joke, owls won’t be rolling their eyes anytime soon. Instead, they rely on their necks to expand their fields of vision: Owls can rotate their necks an astonishing 270 degrees! Me: Why aren’t there so many more TenMartha shag-or-dies? Let’s write a simple one!
Me, later: Let’s base it on Ten being required to bring Martha to orgasm X amount of times in X amount of ways
Me, several thousand words into new fic whilst actively ovulating: Let’s make Martha a virgin+have Ten be super empathetic and gentle about it because they’re best mates/he knows she fancies him/he wants her to be comfortable+enjoy herself as much as she can
Me, falling apart: Over and above all of that, let’s channel obscene amounts of energy into ensuring it’s in character/realistic/feels like an actual [NC-17] episode
#tenmartha#ten x martha#tenth doctor#martha jones#doctor who#just shouting into the void - don’t mind me#honestly I’ll be happy if ONE person enjoys this smutastrophe#I know the bulk of TM shag or dies are handled with pretty heavy and consistent angst#and I’m not saying this is angstless#but I really want to highlight the trust+affection between them#their friendship is so often tragically overlooked#of course there’s an emotional imbalance between them but he still adores her#and finds her attractive - which certainly doesn’t hurt#and obviously they’ve got chemistry in spades#anyway idefk why I’m using tumblr as a diary but it feels good to write it down

Martha Clippinger, (b. 1983, American), lives and works in Durham, NC. Collaboration with weavers in Oaxaca, Mexico. Hand dyed wool rugs.
Through the support of a Fulbright grant, Martha Clippinger spent 2014 studying the Indigenous textile traditions of Oaxaca, Mexico. There she met weavers Licha González Ruiz and Agustín Contreras López of Teotitlán del Valle, a Zapotec village renowned for its woolen tapetes (Spanish for “rugs”) that are woven on upright pedal looms. The couple agreed to translate one of her designs into wool, and they’ve been working together ever since.
Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, Martha Clippinger received a BA from Fordham University and an MFA from Mason Gross School of Art, Rutgers University.

Hi, wondering if you could help me find a fic?? I read it ages ago, I'm not sure where. Mulder and Scully go stay at a creepy estate to investigate a murder or a historical death - a woman who fell or was pushed from a cliff. Turns out the ghosts of her children are to blame - and Scully gets increasingly haunted by them and nearly ends up going over the cliff herself - she may be vulnerable as she's possibly grieving Emily? Something like that? Does this sound at all familiar? Thanks so much!!
Sounds like you might be looking for Resurgam by Ophelia. It's a good casefile where Mulder and Scully go to Martha's Vineyard to investigate the death of a woman who fell off a cliff. It also involves children haunting people, including Scully being haunted by Emily. The fic's summary: Something very angry is haunting a tiny graveyard on the Vineyard.
There are two versions of this fic floating around: PG version (like on AO3) and NC-17 version (like on X-Libris and Gossamer).

Lingthusiasm Episode 96: Welcome back aboard the metaphor train!
We're taking you on a journey to new linguistic destinations, so come along for the ride and don't forget to hold on!
In this episode, your hosts Lauren Gawne and Gretchen McCulloch get enthusiastic about metaphors! It's easy to think of literary comparisons like "my love is like a red, red rose" but metaphors are also far more common and almost unnoticed in regular conversation as well. For example, English speakers often talk about ideas as a journey (the metaphor train) or as if they're visual - clear or murky or heavy or maybe fuzzy, but not as fluffy or feathery or metallic or polka-dotted, but other languages can use different metaphors. We also talk about the process of metaphor design, and how metaphors can help us understand - or misunderstand - abstract concepts like electricity or language learning.
Note that this episode originally aired as Bonus 30: Welcome aboard the metaphor train! We've added a few new things about metaphors and an updated announcements section to the top. We're excited to share one of our favourite bonus episodes from Patreon with a broader audience, while at the same time giving everyone who works on the show a bit of a break.
Click here for a link to this episode in your podcast player of choice or read the transcript here.
Announcements:
In this month’s bonus episode we get Tom Scott's Language Files team together on one call for the first and last time! We talk with host/writer Tom Scott, as well as researcher/writer Molly Ruhl and animator Will Marler, about their roles putting the videos togehter, Gretchen's role in the brainstorming and fact-checking process, and what it's like working on a big, multi-faceted project like the Language Files videos.

14, 20 and 22!
14. Favorite book you read this year?
The answer should be System Collapse by Martha Wells but I haven’t fuckin bought it yet. Brain can’t figure out if I want it on audiobook or book-book or ebook. The answer yes but that doesn’t help.
I re-listened to the audio book for This is How You Lose the Time War and it fucken slaps - the memes we’re right (a thing I already knew).
I’m not finished with it because the adhd hit but I’ve really enjoyed When the Angels Left the Old Country. It got pitched to me as Jewish Good Omens in a turn of the century immigration story with a baby lesbian and that is not wrong. A more coherent summary is a Jewish angel and demon immigrate to American and work at solving the problems of the Jews they meet along the way. It’s like. It’s so hard to describe why I love it other than it’s Jewish down to its bones. That’s something that’s so comforting while at the same time so unfamiliar that just taking it in is like the first breath of fresh air on a cold winter’s morning - invigorating but a punch to the gut.
Also on my list of finished books is the first young wizards novel (I need to continue the series reread but the book is so good), nettle and bone, legends and lattes, spear, and to be taught if fortunate.
20. What’s something you learned this year?
Iunno. It’s after midnight the thoughts have turned off. The rules of baseball ig? Since that was what I spent the summer hyperfixating on. It’s not a fun fact it just is.
22. Favorite place you visited this year?
I really liked visiting Charlotte NC this year. It was a nice trip and I’m glad I got to spend time with my cousins.
End of Year Asks
#asks answered#veloz-lento#can you tell I’m an adhd that struggles with the right format to read?#audiobooks help but only if I’ve got something to do to make the time pass while reading like cooking or cleaning#I’m currently using an old tablet as an eReader and I want to throw it at the wall which makes ebooks hard
