arsenal fan here to give some thoughts on the recent ask and also the one yesterday about attitudes towards walsh - for a tldr version i would basically repeat your catchphrase 'don't listen to dumb dumbs on the internet'!

there is a loud minority of arsenal fans particularly on twitter who act this way but the contrast between them and the actual opinions in the stadium is ginormous, and i think most of the time they're just trolling for interactions and clout. no serious fan genuinely believes we'd walk over barca lol and i also think the majority of us would be delighted if keira signed - i think some of the reaction we've seen has been more about people not wanting us to drop £1 million on someone with 6 months on her contract rather than being specifically against her signing. i do think sometimes more casual viewers underestimate keira's talent purely because her position means she's not always doing the glamorous work like getting the goals and assists - for example i've been to england games with my mum and have ended up tearing my hair out trying to explain to her that keira actually is not playing badly haha

every high profile club has these types including arsenal, barca, and many others, but i'd encourage everyone coming across it to just roll your eyes and move on lol - i've found typically that the fans of any club with the most genuine ball knowledge are not the one screaming into a twitter echo chamber!

hi anon - 100% agreed with your take. especially the part about people posting these types of opinions for clout and to gain interactions. that's what the twitter/x algorithm values above actual discussion and debate. 🙄
