Got a shitton of cleanup work to do in Warframe before I can start with The New War, but at least I thought I could change my Operator to make her more of her own character and not just a self-insert for me.
Her name is Aura, after the AI character from the .hack franchise.

I wonder if there's a term for like ships that are strictly platonic, because like... my Hunter Eir in Destiny (who is based on my VTuber persona but that's aside the point) has a very close bond with Crow but it's like
strictly because she feels like she has to protect him, y'know? Since Crow's still a relatively inexperienced Guardian whereas Eir has at least been active for a few years (I'm putting her revival at somewhere between Taken King and The Red War), but there are like no romantic undertones anywhere.
So like. What would you call a platonic version of a ship? Just a platonic ship, or?

A friend told me yesterday that Shizu gives off very strong "Beware The Nice Ones" energy and I think that's a good thing because that was kind of what I planned?
Like
she's polite, graceful and willing to help anybody whose paths she crosses... but she can and will kick your ass if she thinks you deserve it. (And most of the time you probably will, just ask the Dung Eater.)

Please oh please elaborate on why your Tarnished calls Yura her "uncle" despite them presumably not being related!
I am happy to oblige! Let's start from the beginning... ie before the start of the game. (I'm making this a Read More to not clog peoples dashboards.)
Shizu is from the Land of Reeds, and an orphan. Her birth family was executed when her hometown was under siege in the midst of a bloody coup, and she was just a child when it happened. In the aftermath she had been found by an onna-musha by the name of Kagerou Hakurei, who took her in as her own and raised Shizu to become an onna-musha herself.
Unfortunately, this happiness wouldn't last long enough as Shizu would eventually give her life to save her adoptive mother when the two were ambushed by sellswords that had been recruited by an enemy clan of the Hakureis. Despite the best attempts from doctors and Kagerou's fervent praying, Shizu died at the age of 23, and her body mysteriously disappeared before her funeral. (The act of which would eventually be revaled to be Marika's doing... however the fuck that would work.)
So where does Yura come in in all of this? Well...
When Shizu first set her steps in Limgrave, knowing nothing about her new surroundings and only really following the words of Melina, she would wind up at the Murkwater Coast... and promptly invaded by one of the Tarnished possessed by the cessblood, Nerijus. She would've died one too many times had Yura not appeared when he did. But his phantom disappeared right as Shizu was ready to thank him.
She went to the Seaside Ruins afterwards, spotting a campfire and a few makeshift seats... and she sees her savior in front of her as well. He warned her of the draconic namesake of Lake Agheel, and explained what had happened and why he was in the Lands Between.
He reminded Shizu of the woman that saved her life when she was a child. Her dear mother Kagerou. Shizu started calling him "Uncle Yura" by accident during one of these fireside chats. While exasperated at first, the Bloody Finger Hunter didn't seem to mind it.
She would eventually help Yura with taking down another target of his... and picking up his Nagakiba after his death at the hands of Eleonora.
And by the time she met Shabriri, she lost it upon seeing that whoever this... thing was, it wasn't human. To Shizu, Shabriri was nothing more than shura - a being spreading death, chaos and tragedy wherever it went, destroying the legacy of her "Uncle Yura" by using his body as if it was a puppet.
After her encounter with Shabriri ended in an act of rage and grief-induced violence, Shizu would take Yura's body back to where they first met in Limgrave to give him a proper burial. So if you ever visit the Seaside Ruins and see a makeshift tombstone with an Iron Kasa adorning it... now you know its story.
