In The Scarlet Pimpernel (musical) when Percy discovers Marguerite did not betray his friends and send them to their deaths and he sings "She Was There" about how he's beside himself both with joy and with the emotion of how foolish he was to trust anyone else over her and how could he keep her at arms' length when he still loved her so much and at the end when he cries out, "how could I pull her in when I had never let her go?" 😭😭😭😭
