Tagaytay Skate and BMX Park
Binenta namin yung skateboards and that was that.
These days, buhay na buhay ang skate scene at least in this part of Cavite thanks to the 2019 SEA Games. Tagaytay built a skate and bmx park adjacent to the Tagaytay Track Oval to host the skateboarding and bmx events, and after the SEA Games it's the local skaters and bmx riders who ultimately won out as they've been able to benefit from the said facilities. Accessible and secure facilities also means that newbies are constantly being drawn to skateboarding and bmx. Gusto ko sanang i-try ulit kaya lang at this point I don't think I can afford to risk injuring myself while trying an extreme sport. I want to be able to run (and bike) for as long as I can, and trying an extreme sport won't help my cause. Mad respect to those who skate and here's to hoping that Cavite can produce the next Margielyn Didal in the foreseeable future 🙌

So inspired by the grit that the Olympian Margielyn Didal, 22, of Cebu City, Philippines showed today when she competed in the women’s street skate event in Tokyo.
Next time we falter, may we have the same joyful determination that Margielyn showed the world today.
Before Hidilyn Diaz won the first ever Olympic gold medal for the Philippines today, in her first two Olympics, a medal eluded her. She persisted! Her gold medal in the 55kg women's weightlifting event today included a 127kg lift in the clean and jerk, a new Olympic record.
