I had a tiny little mental breakdown yesterday concerning several events within the latest episode of The Acolyte.... I think we all know some of the events (RIP my blorbos)

BUT BUT BUT that is not what I am here to rant about today! Instead I will be ranting about the SHOCK I felt upon making a DISCOVERY

I was very innocently watching The Acolyte for the past few episodes and thinking to myself that maybe I had a little crush on Mae's little helper boy. It did occur to me in episode 4 that he could perhaps have a secret identity, but I completely forgot about that once episode 5 began. At that point, I was thinking that perhaps the dark side master dude was Osha's MOM because of that thing she said about getting into a Jedi's head.

BUT THEN THE MASK CAME OFF AND I WAS LIKE !!!!!!!?????!!!???!?!

maybe I should have seen that coming but I DIDN'T because I was blinded by his pretty face

so I looked up the actor (as one does) and that's when I made my discovery:

Ayer dirigí la sexta sesión de "Morte Ascendō", la introducción del pj Lasombra de @montedemo-blog a mi Crónica de #V5 "Crescent City By Night".

Los 3 Lasombra implicados, y el ghoul que les lleva a todas partes, acudieron a la mansión de la Primogénita Toreador de Nueva Orleans en el caro barrio de Garden para asistir a su fiesta de bodas de plata y, de paso, presentarse ante el Príncipe de la ciudad y hacer pesquisas sobre qué ocurre con el "Hombre de Negro".

Aún nos quedará una sesión para acabarla, pero también aprovechamos para darles un nuevo aspecto a tres de los pnjs más importantes de la Crónica: El Príncipe Antonio Calbullarshi, su Chiquilla Marie D'Richet y la Primogénita Toreador Doña Matilde de Gálvez-Balmis, además de actualizar el aspecto del pj de Carlos.

Fue toda una experiencia y un reto introducirle en un capítulo de la Crónica que ya fue jugado por el resto de mis jugadores hace cerca de dos años...

ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE UNIVERSE by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Oh my, I listened to the audiobook, originaly just because of Lin Manuel Miranda, but holy shit, did this book slap me in the face.

I adored every single line. The way I related to Ari was almost scary but it made me feel very seen and I loved it.

On top of that, the love Ari and Dante have for each other (and for their parents) is just so pure I could scream. For me personaly I also really liked how platonic everything started out and even when the story and their relationship progressed it didn't become "sexual", and I don't just simply mean they didn't have any kind of sexual interaction, cuz they did, what I mean is how none of their interactions or the story line became sexually tainted, we didn't start getting pov's where teenage hormones where raging. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but I myself struggle with sexuality and it was so nice to read about their relationship beside that, the story is almost entirely centered on feelings and emotions (the responses and actions to those things too of course), it's great.

I found it quite impressive how Benjamin Alire Sáenz, who himself a little bit older, to get so accurately in the minds of these kids and portray everything so right .

I hardly feel like getting into the parents is very useful, every review I've read focuses on them, but I will be clear in that the relationship with them is wonderful. The whole thing made me want to be a better daughter and go hang out with my mom more often.

Warning: this book will make you so excited for summer and swimming you nearly want to jump in to the next body of water you see, so be advised, do not read in winter.

Now a little more serious, Aristotle clearly suffers from depression, which is partly what makes his coming of age so diffucult. Even without the whole trip of figuring out your sexuality, he is down and doubting himself and the people around him. The story is from his pov and so in every chapter we get to see exactly what he thinks, and those thoughts often aren't very happy. In the beginning of the book he's only fifteen and already having very deep and grown up thoughts about specific subjects, his family dynamic in particular. A good portayal of depression always makes me feel seen and dare I say "happy", and I do believe that mr. Sáenz nailed it, especially because not every reader gets it the first time around.

And then Dante, my lord, sunshine in a person. He's so carefree and innocent, but then also so thoughtful and mischievous. Reading this I felt very much the same way that Ari feels about him.

THE best summer read if you ask me, this book shook me in my core and changed the way I look at all my relationships and life in general.

Shoutout to Legs, because of him and Ari I picked up running.

Hoy sábado he dirigido la quinta sesión de "Morte Ascendō", la introducción del personaje Lasombra de mi buen amigo Carlos a mi Crónica de V5 "Crescent City By Night".

El noble criollo Lasombra Carlos de Montedemo, junto al Padre Manuel de Mendoza, el pirata de la Ashirra Manuel de Montedemo, y su ghoul Miguel de Montedemo fueron al Diamond's Club, un club de adultos donde se entrevistaron con el Hecata Antonio Rossellini acerca del paradero del enigmático "Hombre de Negro". Dos noches antes estuvo en el Cementerio de St.Louis N⁰1 entrevistandose con la Antigua Samedi Mamam Brigitte.

Fueron hasta allí y averiguaron de boca de la Samedi que el Matusalén Lasombra iba buscando información acerca de "la Tablilla de Ahriman" y de la próxima subasta de objetos relacionados con Vástagos en la Ciudad Creciente.
