If you write for her, I will not be opposed to a Kerstin Casparij one because I have the biggest fattest crush on her. Maybe a fan keeps showing up in the fanzone (an area of the Joie stadium where a selected few are allowed to meet the players, but it's random each time and should make it so its different every time so everyone gets a go.) And nobody knows why she's there or how she keeps getting chosen but the players find it funny and make sure to get round to her every time. But Kerstin always spends a particularly long amount of time with her, until it's revealed that she's pulling strings and getting the girl in every time just so she can see her. (You can either do it where she does it because she likes her or because they're dating, it works with both and I'm not sure which one I want more.)

You had met Kerstin in a bakery down the road from your house. When you first saw each other, the woman nearly tripped over her own feet. You were surprised by the shock on her face like she was starstruck by being in a metre of your presence. You gave her a friendly smile, hoping your open ambiguity would keep things humble.
It was during your final exams, the ones where you needed to pass so that you could continue your degree. You were very passionate about what you did, and sitting down in a quiet coffee shop with your headphones on and books open was your idea of being productive.
Kerstin, on the other hand, had the impression that you didn't want to talk to her.
Which, well, to be honest, you were in the middle of studying, but you gave no clear indication of what she thought you were thinking.
Instead of going about her day — she should've been at training twelve minutes ago, but it was only media day so they could wait — she slowly sauntered closer to where you sat, pretending to be interested in the decorative flowers that embellished the cafe. You watched her out of the corner of your eye, smiling at her piss-poor attempt in remaining discreet.
You were dressed in very basic clothing, similar to hers save for the Manchester symbol embedded on her jumper. Only one ear was covered by your headphones, meaning that Kerstin would be heard loud and clear if she plucked up the courage to speak to you — which she was trying to do now. She thought you were the most beautiful woman she’d ever seen, and she was surrounded by women almost every single day of her life. You looked extremely immersed in what you were doing, which should of been an indicator of apathy but it only lured Kerstin in more.
She wanted to know everything about you. Your name, you favourite colour, what you did, what you loved, who you loved—
It sounded a bit creepy, so she shook off her thoughts and focused deeply on the flowers. The woman was staring at her screen distantly, aimlessly typing away on the keyboard with a mug by her side.
When she realised you had caught her staring, she buried and swallowed down her pride. “They are nice flowers, don't you think?” She asked, her cheeks burning a vibrant red as if she had just run a marathon. You noticed her accent, one that wasn't accustomed to Manchester, and nodded like you cared about the topic.
“Yes, but I think they are fake.” You replied, smiling wider as the woman’s flustered state only grew in size when she caught sight of the very fake-looking plants.
“Oh.” She gulped, shoving her hands into her pockets. She's so stupid, she thought to herself, she’d blown her chance of even talking to this gorgeous stranger by talking about some stupid, fake plants.
You wondered whether the woman would continue the conversation she started, but the silence that followed was a pretty good indicator that she was audibly stumped on what to say.
“They are pretty, though.”
“Like you,” Kerstin spoke without thinking and instantly regretted it. She slapped her hand across her mouth, nearly walking out of the coffee shop, packing her bags and moving back to the Netherlands. “Fuck, sorry. That just— erm, came out. Sorry.”
You took off your headphones, pretending to act offended, raising your eyebrows and sighing. “You don't mean it?”
“What— no, no, you are so pretty. Like, beautiful, gorgeous. That's why I'm here. Well— yeah, I saw and thought you were pretty. I didn't mean it like that. You're probably smart, too, but— erm, yeah.”
The look of remorse almost made you feel bad, but your amusement — and somewhat endearment — overturned your hesitancy.
Instead, you laughed, took a sip of your drink and smiled, hoping it would calm the woman’s nerves.
“You worry too much.” You said, moving across the booth you were sitting on, offering the space beside you for her to sit down. She did so without delay. “I'm not someone you should waste your worry on.”
“You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” Kerstin answered wholeheartedly, pleased when she noticed the blush that dusted your cheeks. “I would rather worry about you than anything else for the rest of my life.”
You laughed, crossing your arms over your chest. “You don't even know me.”
With a push of confidence, Kerstin wrapped an arm over the back of the booth, scarcely missing your shoulder. “If you’d let me, I’d like to.”
“Charmer.”
It was from there that you and Kristen started to hang out.
Seven months had passed, and you were now completely and utterly in love with the woman. Kerstin was an externally affectionate person despite her introverted persona. She loved showering you with compliments, giving you everything you needed at exactly the right time with just the right amount of love and devotion.
You found out she was a football player pretty early on in your relationship due to the tight and busy schedule the girl had, including her diet, exercise, and all of that. You weren't a massive football fan, but going to your first game a week into knowing Kerstin made it seem to find a way into your heart.
Your girlfriend wasn't the only one to give compliments. You had your fair share in making sure the Dutch woman knew how much you were enamoured with everything she did. It took you a while to get used to her career and the publicity that came with it, but you found pleasure in knowing that once you got back to your shared apartment you could tell and show her just how much she made you feel so so proud.
It was in mutual agreeance that you both wanted to keep your relationship under wraps. Your feelings for one another and how you cared for each other were one of the highest concerns in your relationship, and by keeping your love between yourselves, you've found that it worked better overall. You didn't want to indulge in a media presence, and Kerstin respected that.
Kerstin was fine with putting herself out onto social media, but when it came to you, she wanted to make sure you were comfortable at all times.
Because of this, you both came to the decision that at games, you wouldn't sit within the family and friends section, and instead, in the crowd with the fans.
You were among the group of fans that were guaranteed to meet the players after the match, whether it be cause they paid more or if they were chosen randomly by officials. For many weeks, people just assumed that they were lucky or could just afford to pay the extra money to be seated in the same section. Both you and Kerstin found it amusing when fans would wonder why you were always the first one to be greeted, or why you knew her.
After a month of this recurring theme, some of Kerstin’s teammates started to notice.
Surprisingly, Lauren, who wasn't the most observant, caught sight of it first.
“Do you know her?” She asked Kerstin after a game against Everton, watching the Dutchie make eye contact with you from where they were signing shirts.
Kerstin looked at Hempo, a blush running across the bridge of her nose.
Shrugging, she thanked the last fan, handing back the pen. “She's a friend of mine.”
Lauren’s eyebrows furrowed. “Then why isn't she in the friends and family section?”
When Kerstin didn't instantly reply, silenced by the prodding questions she was receiving, a distant idea clicked in Lauren’s mind.
“She's your girlfriend?” She sounded, obviously a little too loudly since the Dutch international nudged her warningly.
“Alright, nosey, keep your voice down.” She snapped, pulling the girl away from the crowd. “You can't tell anyone, alright. It's still pretty new.”
Lauren’s eyes widened in alarm, not exactly thrilled with the commitment of keeping a secret. “Does Jill know?”
“Why would Jill know?”
“I don't know, I didn't think I’d be the first person to find out,” Hempo replied, looking back at you. “Can I tell someone?”
Kerstin’s eyebrows furrowed. “I just said you can't.”
“Yes, I know, but I'm terrible at keeping secrets,” Lauren whined. “Please, let me tell Jill, at least.”
“No, because Jill will tell Viv and Viv will tell Beth, and Beth will tell literally everyone.” She quipped, only half-heartedly digging at the Arsenal girls. She watched Hemp sigh like a child, looking down as if the burden of her knowing was too much. “You can tell Esme but that's it.”
That was how the first people found out about you and Kerstin. When she told you that night, you weren't necessarily fazed. It was bound to come out at some point, and you’d rather Kerstin’s teammates find out from her than the internet.
Unfortunately, though, the rest of the girls weren't afforded the same luxury as Esme and Lauren.
All of the girls at Man City couldn't believe their eyes when they found out Kerstin was in love.
Well, to be fair, they weren't quite certain this was true. Lauren and Esme saw it first at the next game against West Ham, watching their teammate smile cheekily at the girl in the stands when she should've been stretching.
Sandy mentioned the Dutch International’s love-sick countenance to some of their teammates over lunch a few weeks later, promoting Hempo and Es to spill their not-so-long-kept confession.
None of the girls knew who Kerstin was talking to — or even if their suspicions were acclimated, but Sandy, Esme, and Lauren all made it their mission to keep their lips closed.
Sandy was the one to come up with the pact, yet the demanding eyes of Roebuck after an endurance training session set her tongue loose.
Lauren wasn't at all happy. Esme ended up spilling the secret to Mary as well, meaning the secret was already spreading across the team.
Meanwhile, fans were growing more and more suspicious of you and how you managed to steal the attention of Kerstin after each and every game.
The media surrounding you two got so big that Kerstin’s national teammate Viv called her one day asking what was going on.
Kerstin knew Lauren and Esme had told at least half the team by then, including Jill, who had run up to you after a game and pretended to flirt with you just to annoy her teammate. Viv was quick to point out that if she wanted to keep your relationship private, putting you in the midst of cameras and media attention wasn't the most suitable option.
You ended up deciding that if you were to stay in the crowd, both of you needed to be willing to make your relationship more public.
It had been seven months of concealing your obvious love for one another. Pretty much the whole team knew about you, and it only took fans a quick video of the two of you looking at each other to piece the clues together. You were both mature enough to keep your private lives private and social lives up to your discretion.
You made the decision to share very minimal parts of your lives together without spelling it out. This meant that you could hug your girlfriend for that little while longer in front of everyone. You could kiss her and not look around to see if anyone was looking. You could tell yourself that Kerstin was yours and you were hers.
But you didn't need public knowledge to make you feel loved by her.

TARTT'S CORNER - Jamie Tartt x Y/N
Masterlist - Next Chapter
Episode One: The Golden Boy
Y/N was pacing her apartment, her socks barely making a sound on the hardwood floors. Her eyes darted around the room for the tenth time, scanning for anything she might have missed. Pillows were fluffed and perfectly angled on the couch. A tray of assorted snacks—crackers, cheese, and some fruit—sat on the coffee table next to a sparkling water and a bottle of what she hoped was an appropriate craft beer. She’d Googled Jamie Tartt’s favorite drinks but came up empty, which left her guessing.
“What if he’s on some kind of athlete diet and doesn’t eat snacks?” she muttered to herself, hands on her hips. “Or what if he thinks the beer is too try-hard? Does he even like beer?” Her eyes widened. “What if he’s allergic to something? God, I should’ve just stuck to water.”
She exhaled sharply, trying to shake off the creeping anxiety. It wasn’t like her to get this worked up over a podcast guest. In fact, she prided herself on being laid-back and professional, even when interviewing some of the biggest names in football. But this was Jamie Tartt—the Jamie Tartt. Star player for AFC Richmond, former bad boy, and all-around enigma.
Her pacing stopped as she caught sight of herself in the mirror. “Pull it together, Y/N. You do this for all your guests,” she said, brushing invisible lint off her jeans. That was a lie, of course. She’d never gone this far out of her way before. Most of her guests got water, maybe coffee if she was feeling generous. Snacks? Decor? That was new territory.
“This is fine,” she reassured herself, glancing at the clock. He’d be here any minute.
Just as she was straightening a picture frame on the wall, her phone buzzed with a text:
Jamie Tartt: Out front. Don’t make me wait, love.
She rolled her eyes at the audacity of his message, grabbing her phone and opening the door to find him leaning casually against the doorframe, his signature smirk firmly in place. Jamie Tartt was every bit as magnetic in person as he was on screen. His sharp jawline, perfectly tousled hair, and tailored bomber jacket screamed effortless confidence.
“Alright, love?” he greeted her, his eyes scanning her up and down in a way that was equal parts appraising and teasing.
“Punctual,” Y/N quipped, stepping aside to let him in. “Color me impressed.”
“Well, gotta keep the people happy, don’t I?” His voice carried that cheeky Manchester lilt that somehow made even his most arrogant statements sound charming.
“Well, hi Jamie,” Y/N replied, smiling warmly but internally reminding herself not to do too much. “Come in.” Jamie grinned, stepping into her apartment with a curious glance around.
“Don’t mind if I do.” He took a step inside, glancing around her apartment. "Nice place. Bit small, though."
Y/N raised an eyebrow. "It’s a podcast studio, not a mansion. You gonna stand there criticizing, or are you coming in?"
Jamie grinned, walking inside and glancing around. "Just sayin’. Could’ve gone all out, y’know? Like one o’ those fancy setups with the mic arms and everything. This looks like… my nan’s kitchen."
Y/N shot him a deadpan look. "Well, your nan’s kitchen is about to host one of the most listened-to podcasts in the football world. Take a seat, Jamie."
“And feel free to get comfortable,” she said, gesturing toward the couch, she wanted to give him an atmosphere where he can take off the prick-exterior. “Snacks, drinks—help yourself.”
Jamie’s gaze landed on the carefully curated spread, and he raised an amused brow. “Bloody hell, you throw all this together just for me?”
“I do this for all my guests,” she lied smoothly, ignoring the flush creeping up her neck.
“Sure you do, love,” he said, plopping down on the couch and grabbing a cracker. “Very professional.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and took a seat across from him, setting up her laptop and microphone. “Alright, Jamie, you ready to get started? Or do you need a moment to soak in the ambiance?”
“Oh, I’m ready,” he said, leaning back and spreading his arms across the back of the couch. “Let’s hear it. What’s your little catchphrase, then?”
She shot him a look. “What makes you think I have a catchphrase?”
“You’ve got a podcast. Everyone with a podcast has a catchphrase. It’s like a rule or summat.”
Y/N sighed, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Fine. You want the full experience? Here we go.” She adjusted her microphone and took a deep breath. “Welcome to Striker’s Corner, where we talk tactics, triumphs, and everything in between. I’m your host, Y/N, and today’s guest needs no introduction. Joining us is none other than AFC Richmond’s star striker, the golden boy himself—Jamie Tartt!”
Jamie’s grin widened. “Golden boy, eh? You make me sound like an Oscar statue. You forgot to say ‘devastatingly handsome.’”
“I’ll let the audience decide that,” she shot back, suppressing a laugh. “Alright, Jamie, let’s dive in. You ready for some hard-hitting questions?”
“Born ready, love.”
The podcast started off as expected, with Jamie offering polished, almost rehearsed answers to her questions about his career.
“Alright, Jamie, let’s start with an easy one. What’s your favorite goal you’ve ever scored?”
Jamie leaned forward, his expression turning thoughtful. “Oh, that’s a tough one. There’s been so many, you know.”
“Of course,” Y/N deadpanned. “You’re Jamie Tartt.”
“Exactly,” he said, grinning. “But if I had to pick, I’d say the one against Man City last year. Last minute, curled it right into the top corner. The crowd went mental.”
Y/N nodded. “That was a beauty. But what about the one against Tottenham? That solo run from midfield?”
Jamie raised a brow. “You remember that one?”
“Jamie, I’m a football podcaster. It’s literally my job to remember.”
“Fair point,” he admitted, looking impressed.
“So, Jamie, you’ve had quite the journey. From Manchester City to Richmond, with some stints in between. What’s been the biggest challenge for you?”
“Biggest challenge?” he repeated, leaning forward slightly. “Dunno. Probably gettin’ people to stop talkin’ about me dad all the time.”
Y/N blinked, caught off guard by the unexpected honesty. “That’s fair. Your relationship with your dad has been a big part of your story, especially in the media. Do you feel like people focus on that too much?”
Jamie shrugged, popping a grape into his mouth. “Yeah, but can’t really blame ‘em, can I? Makes for good telly. ‘Jamie Tartt overcomes evil dad to become football hero.’ Very dramatic.”
“Do you think that’s fair to you?”
He tilted his head, considering her question. “Dunno. Maybe not. But fair’s not really part of the game, is it?”
Y/N nodded, impressed by the hint of depth in his answer. “True. Alright, let’s lighten things up a bit. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever done for you?”
Jamie’s face lit up. “Oh, easy. This one time, a bloke got my face tattooed on his calf. Proper full-color and everything. Looked awful.”
Y/N burst out laughing. “No way.”
“Swear down,” Jamie said, grinning. “Met him after a match. He pulls up his trouser leg and goes, ‘Look, mate, it’s you!’ Nearly pissed meself.”
Their banter flowed naturally, and Jamie seemed to relax as the session went on. He shared stories about his teammates, his favorite matches, and even his guilty pleasure for cheesy romantic comedies.
“Wait, wait,” Y/N interrupted, holding up a hand. “You’re telling me Jamie Tartt watches rom-coms?”
“Course I do,” he said, looking affronted. “They’re brilliant. Best one’s Notting Hill. Classic.”
“I don’t even know what to say to that.”
Jamie smirked. “Say you’ve got good taste in guests, love.”
As the conversation progressed, Y/N guided Jamie through topics she’d carefully prepared with him—his early days in football, his transition to the Premier League, and the challenges he’d faced along the way.
"When you were a kid," she began, "did you always know you’d make it to the top? Or was there a moment where you thought, ‘Maybe I’ll just be a regular lad playing Sunday league football’?"
Jamie tilted his head, considering. "Honestly? Nah. I always knew I’d make it. I was too good not to. But…" He hesitated, a rare vulnerability creeping in. "There were times when it felt like everyone was just waitin’ for me to fail, y’know? Like, they’d build you up just so they could tear you down."
Y/N nodded, her expression softening. "That’s a lot for a young player to deal with. How did you handle it?"
Jamie shrugged. "Didn’t, really. Just… pretended it didn’t bother me. Acted like I didn’t care. But it sticks with you."
The conversation shifted to lighter topics after that—Jamie’s favorite moments on the pitch, his love for ridiculous goal celebrations, and his infamous social media antics.
"You once posted a video of yourself singing karaoke to ‘Wonderwall’ after a match," Y/N said, grinning. "Do you still stand by that performance?"
Jamie laughed. "Absolutely. That was class, wasn’t it? Proper vibes."
"Proper something," Y/N muttered, making Jamie chuckle. Glad he decided to take this podcast seriously.
As the podcast continued, Jamie started to relax even more. The cheeky, guarded front gave way to moments of genuine humor and insight. He teased Y/N about her football opinions but also listened intently when she shared her perspective on tactics and strategy.
"You really know your stuff," he said at one point, sounding almost surprised.
"Why does everyone always sound shocked when they say that?" Y/N asked, laughing.
"Dunno," Jamie said, his gaze lingering on her. "Just… didn’t expect it, I guess. You don’t seem like the typical football fan."
“I guess, that’s what we take from this episode, folks. Never judge a book by its cover, like Jamie Tartt did with me. Tune in next week for another episode, hopefully with the ever-charming Jamie Tartt.” Y/N wrapped the podcast up gesturing for Jamie to say goodbye to the non-existent audience. And he just waved at the screen with a confused look. Whelp, gotta work on that.
By the time they wrapped up the episode, the energy between them had shifted. Jamie was grinning like a kid who’d just discovered something fun, and Y/N felt a strange warmth in her chest she couldn’t quite explain.
As Y/N shut off the recording equipment, Jamie stood, stretching. "That weren’t half bad," he said, his tone almost begrudging.
"I’ll take that as a compliment," Y/N replied, standing as well.
Jamie looked at her, his expression unreadable for a moment. Then he smirked. "You know, for a podcast lady, you’re alright."
Y/N raised an eyebrow. "Thanks, I think?"
Jamie chuckled, then glanced at the door. "Anyway, I’ll see ya next time, yeah?"
"You sure?" Y/N echoed, amused.
Jamie shrugged. "Dunno. Might be fun to really do this series."
Halfway out of the door, he gave her a lingering look, his usual cocky demeanor softening just slightly. “You’re good at this, you know. Making people feel comfortable.”
Y/N’s heart did a little flip, but she quickly pushed the feeling aside. “Just part of the job.”
As he left, Y/N couldn’t help but smile. Jamie Tartt, the cocky star player, had been unexpectedly charming. And as she glanced at the empty chair he’d just vacated; she realized she was already looking forward to their next session.
She stared at the tray of half-eaten snacks on her coffee table and picked at a chocolate bar absentmindedly, replaying their conversation in her head.
“You’re good at this, you know. Making people feel comfortable.”
His words echoed in her mind, tinged with that soft, earnest tone he’d used. It was a far cry from the cheeky, overconfident persona Jamie Tartt was known for. That small moment of vulnerability had caught her off guard, though she hadn’t let it show. At least, she hoped she hadn’t.
She shook her head and chuckled softly to herself. “Don’t read into it, Y/N. He probably says that to everyone.”
Still, there had been something undeniably electric about their interaction. She’d expected Jamie to be difficult—a diva, even—but instead, he’d surprised her. Sure, he’d been cocky, but it was almost charming in its own way. And beneath all that bravado, there were moments where he seemed genuine.
Y/N reached for her notebook, flipping through the pages where she’d jotted down potential topics for future episodes. She stopped on a blank page, her pen hovering above it as her mind wandered.
“He’s… different,” she murmured, twirling the pen in her fingers. “Not just another footballer. There’s something else there.”
She sighed again and tossed the pen onto the coffee table. This was exactly why she’d hesitated to take on the project in the first place. She hated blurring the lines between her work and her personal feelings. But Jamie Tartt had a way of getting under her skin since day met, and she wasn’t sure whether that was a good thing or not.
Looking around her apartment, she took in the evidence of her over-preparation—the neatly arranged snacks, the carefully lit candle, the meticulous list of questions—and felt a wave of embarrassment. “God, I overdid it,” she muttered, burying her face in her hands.
But a small smile crept onto her lips despite herself. For all her nerves and overthinking, the episode had gone better than she could have imagined. If nothing else, she had great material for the podcast. And it's going online today.
Meanwhile, Jamie was leaning against the hood of his car in the parking lot, scrolling through his phone with an uncharacteristic half-smile on his face. He’d told himself he wasn’t going to look up Y/N’s podcast, but curiosity got the better of him.
“Striker’s Corner,” he muttered, tapping the play button on her most like episode with Jude Bellingham. Her voice filled his ears—warm, bright, and confident.
“Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Striker’s Corner! I’m your host, Y/N L/N…”
Jamie couldn’t help but grin as he listened. She was bloody good at what she did, no doubt about it. The way she spoke, the way she made football sound so… exciting. It wasn’t just that she knew her stuff—it was the passion behind her words.
He pocketed his phone and hopped into the driver’s seat, still smiling to himself as he started the engine.
“Maybe this whole podcast thing won’t be so bad,” he mused, pulling out of the parking lot.
As he drove home, his thoughts kept drifting back to her. Y/N L/N wasn’t like anyone he’d met before. She didn’t fawn over him like most people did, and she had a way of calling him out that was both infuriating and oddly endearing. Plus she was reeeally fit. And that's a big pro for Jamie.
For the first time in a long time, Jamie found himself looking forward to the next conversation—not just for the banter, but for the way she made him feel like he was more than just Jamie Tartt, the footballer.
And that was a feeling he wasn’t sure he was ready to let go of.
It was like she just… saw him. Not Jamie Tartt, the star striker, but Jamie Tartt, the person. And that, for some reason, made him feel both intrigued and unsettled.
For once, he wasn’t the one in control of the dynamic. She was sharp, confident, and knew exactly how to handle him without playing into his ego. And yet, there was a warmth to her—a kindness—that made him want to keep talking to her, even if she’d probably just call him out on his nonsense again.
As he turned into his driveway, he realized with a start that he was looking forward to their next podcast session more than he cared to admit.
Back in her apartment, Y/N saved the podcast audio file and began uploading it to her platform. She reread the episode description she’d drafted:
“Today on Striker’s Corner, we’re joined by AFC Richmond’s Jamie Tartt to discuss his career, his journey as a player, and, of course, his infamous karaoke rendition of ‘Wonderwall.’ Expect laughs, insight, and a side of Jamie you’ve never seen before.”
Her fingers hovered over the keyboard as she debated whether to tweak it further. It felt too lighthearted, but that was the point of her show: to keep things approachable and fun while offering moments of genuine depth. Still, she couldn’t shake the nagging feeling that this episode had been different.
When the upload finished, she leaned back on the couch and stared at the now-empty coffee table. The thought of Jamie listening to her podcast—he’d mentioned something about checking out her work—made her stomach flutter. Why do I care if he listens? she thought, annoyed at herself.
“Because he’s Jamie Tartt,” she muttered, rolling her eyes. “And because you’re hopelessly curious about people who surprise you.”
But this was work, she reminded herself. Nothing more, nothing less. And if Jamie was part of her work now, she’d just have to stay professional, even if his cheeky grin and unexpected depth made that harder than she’d like to admit.
Her phone buzzed with a notification. Someone had already commented on the episode teaser she’d posted earlier:
“Jamie Tartt on Striker’s Corner? This is gonna be good! Y/N never misses.”
She smiled at the comment, but a small part of her couldn’t help wondering if Jamie would see it—and what he’d think of her now.

I LOVE thinking about royjamiekeeley's future home together and how all three of their styles would come together to create a living space that is so very them :)
I think it's especially important to Jamie because he's never really had a space of his own as an adult that he's actually considered home before. Like, he bought his place in Manchester when he was just coming into having actual money--and a lot of it--for the first time, and he was spending it not just on himself but also on updates and renovations to Mummy's place and eventually on a home for his dad as well. So for himself he bought his car and a house but then didn't quite know what to do with the rest of it. As a result, for years his home there is just sort of an un-curated mix of the random shit he bought on a whim because he suddenly had the money to do so. Like the painting he walks past everyday and thinks "do I actually like that?" and the foosball table and the garish furniture he picked out because it looked dead cool in the showroom but really doesn't go together at all in his house.
Then when he moved to Richmond, he didn't really want to be there anyway, did he, so it was easier to just hire someone to furnish it for him. And he was on the outs with mummy, so even having family photos up made him feel weird and sad, and there were a couple of things he slowly acquired (like his balloon dog and his lavish headboard), mostly when shopping with Keeley, that he does love, but the house itself is sleek and modern and sterile, and it never really feels quite like his. By the time he comes to think of Richmond as home, he's spending most of his time at Keeley's or Roy's anyway, so he never bothers to make it more his own.
Then they all buy a house together, and Jamie is thrilled but also so overwhelmed, because he's never felt like he had such free reign before in a space since he was hanging up those posters in his childhood bedroom. Thus: his grand idea, presented with great enthusiasm and pride, of framing up his and Roy's England kits side by side in the living room, to which Keeley says absolutely fucking not. But then Keeley brings in her pink chandelier and her neon wall art from the moving van and Roy says absolutely fucking not, and Roy tries to hog all the shelves in the bookcase for his mystery/thriller paperbacks, to which Jamie and Keeley are both like, absolutely fucking not!! Eventually the living room (where they spend most of their time) becomes the perfect mashup of all of them. The furniture is neutral enough for Roy, but accessorized with a ton of throw pillows courtesy of Keeley, and one of Jamie's transformers is next to Roy's books and Keeley's knick-knacks on the shelves, and they've got a gallery wall with photos and framed bits and pieces of all of them.
They have a two-floor home but the main bedroom is of course on the first floor (Roy can't do stairs), and a giant ensuite with a spa tub for Keeley (and for Roy when his knee is acting up), and a shower big enough so that Jamie rarely has to shower alone, if he doesn't want to. Then there's Roy's office and a media room for all of Jamie's gaming consoles and for the boys to watch match tapes that's filled up with all of their medals/trophies/awards. Keeley rarely goes in there, but when she wins like, Boss Ass Bitch of the Year or something (a real award TO ME), Roy and Jamie insist it goes up right alongside their premier league medals, and ceremoniously place it there in a way that has Keeley giggling kicking her feet in love with them <3
Roy's more set in his ways from years of living on his own, so Jamie and Keeley distract him as they decorate the rest of the house by giving him full control of the kitchen, because he's the one who's going to be using it most often, anyway. He gets all the appliances and everything configured, top-grade, with Simon's helpful input. And most importantly, he also makes sure there's a big island he can work at with stools for Keeley and Jamie to sit in and sip their wine prettily or "help" him by aimlessly chopping vegetables as he goes about all the hard work of actually cooking their meals. This is secretly his favorite part of being in the kitchen. He makes sure the stools are very comfortable for them. Also, the fridge is always covered in Phoebe's report cards and drawings and homemade cards :)
Then the upstairs is used for the guest bedrooms for when any of their parents or friends come to stay, plus Phoebe's bedroom/bathroom and Keeley & Jamie's overflow closet and Keeley's home office (she likes to be a floor above to help drown out the noise and help her stay focused when Roy and Jamie are home and screaming at the television about sports on the main floor, or else shagging each other senseless in their bedroom while Keeley still has emails to attend to, thank you.)
And there's a half pitch in the backyard because of course there is, when you're that rich you've got to have a least one thing that lavish. And a garden that Roy really takes to tending, surprisingly, and loungers for Keeley and Jamie to suntan as Roy hovers over them menacingly with a bottle of sun cream.
Ultimately it's theirs and it's home and it's wonderful and even though they all keep a hold of their former houses for financial and media purposes, they rarely ever go back to them. ❤️

Random headcanons for Ghost
(domestic hcs, holiday hcs, pride hcs)
These hcs are in no particular order and are weirdly structured, but just roll with it.
He has pictures of his mother, Tommy, and Tommy's family all over his house.
Man is an officer in the SAS so he's definitely got a fair amount of money. He lives in a decently sized apartment in Manchester. The colour scheme is different shades of dark blue and white.
He has a large kitchen that's always stocked full of different herbs and spices. Man detests bland meals.
He's used to the same mess food every day when he's at base, so he always tries to cook his own food when on leave so he has some variety.
Has an INTENSE spice tolerance.
Cooking makes his mind quiet and at peace, which is why he does it so much.
If he comes home and is too tired to cook, he'll either order a domino's (large meat feast) or he'll walk to the local Subway.
He surprises any visitors (literally just the 141 and Alex/Farah for Christmas sometimes) with a huge amount of homemade food.
Very clean. Has lots of different hygiene products in his bathroom and uses them religiously (I also think he's a bit of germaphobe, which links to this).
Is a bath man through and through but doesn't have the time for them.
When he does have a bath, he has tiny rubber ducks lined up on the edges of the tub. He named one of them Soap.
Yes, he's a very clean man, but I think he HATES shaving. Will only do so if he has to or the feeling of it against his mask gets too annoying.
Has a bunch of balaclavas and masks in his wardrobe that he picks and chooses. They're all different colours. Gaz and Soap jokingly got him a pink balaclava for his birthday. Unironically it's his favourite one but he never wears it out in public.
That said I feel like, even if you hc him as straight, he enjoys going to pride parades with Soap to show his support for the LGBTQ community and wears it then. Whenever he does Johnny is always there with his phone out to take pictures.
I personally headcanon him not really giving a shit about his sexuality, and therefore whenever someone asks he says his identity is unlabeled and then goes about his day.
Has dated both men and women in the past tho.
Bit confused with all the different terms for transgender people e.g. non-binary, generfluid, agender etc. Tries to learn what he can but struggles a bit.
Doesn't give a shit about your identity, religious beliefs, race, ability (or lack thereof). If you're a twat, you're a twat regardless.
He always finds holidays fun but he would rather jump out of a window than admit it.
People think his favourite holiday is halloween, and they are absolutely right. He feels too lonely at Christmas and Easter, so he decorates his apartment with vast amounts of Halloween decorations in October and always gives the kids the biggest pile of sweets when they come round.
When they do knock on his door, he always wears the costume a different masked character each year. Last time he was Michael Myers. This year he's looking at Ghostface costumes.
Acted as if he didn't want to go to the haunted maze Soap invited the team to, but in truth was incredibly excited about it.
Unintentionally scared the scare actors. Was offered three different jobs that night, which he reluctantly declined.
Celebrates both Christmas AND Yule. Has done since he was a child.
The 141 have a routa as to who's house is hosting Christmas/Yule celebration each year. Always helps out with the food whether he's hosting or not.
Despises Soap's cooking. "Too white" for his taste as Gaz puts it. Absolutely adores Gaz's cooking tho. Has shown up randomly at his house and asked for food like a street urchin.
Reblogs appreciated!!

Last Year, (I think), my Family and I were staying at a Premier Inn Hotel in Manchester. Pride Month had already ended months ago, yet they still had their Pride Decorations up.
I was a little happy seeing this, and I pointed it out to my Parents. Obviously, my Parents weren’t as enthusiastic, but my Sister was glad aswell.
Everyday we went out, before I left and after I came back, I looked at the Pride Poster they had on the Staff Only Door & did a little thumbs up with a smile.
The one Morning, I wake up to my Dad with a bag. He takes the contents out, and look at what it is: The Pride Decorations. Specifically the Pride Flag Bunting in the Window & the Pride Poster that was on the Staff Only Door.
I was surprised and confused, but apparently one of the Receptionists saw how happy I was & how I did a little thumbs up at the Pride Poster everyday, so he decided to give them to me to keep.
We went downstairs to get out breakfast, and I thanked the guy. He even offered to get some more Pride Decorations! But I said no, since I was quite happy with what I got, and also because I didn’t want to take all their Pride Decor.
I have them hung up in my room to this day. I hope the guy that gave me them is having an amazing day. :)

Image descriptions: 6 pictures of a bunch of people in what seems to be a Welsh Pride Parade. 1. A group of different people holding a big banner of the trans and the rainbow gay flag together labelled as "#LWithTheT, - not a debate -". Some people hold smaller rainbow flags and in the background, letters spelling "pride" are formed with rainbow balloons. Around them are some stores, including one named "forbidden planet" and another showcasing the Welsh flag. 2. A group of different peopel holding a different banner, pink, with the phrase "Support your sisters, not cisters! [the second "sisters" is written with a "c", like in "cis"] The LesBisch activisme is trans-inclusief". The banner has a logo in the shape of a losangle with a rainbow gradient, with the words "On Derste Boven" on its right, and the same words inverted upside-down on its left. 3. A group of people marching and holding another banner, this one plain white with black bold letters and saying "manchester lesbians stand by your trans [the "our" in "your trans" is highlighted in red]". Below the phrase is also written "#StandByYourTrans" and "#LWithTheT". The banner is also decorated with a bunch rainbow gay and trans pride flags. The people in the crowd hold a lot of smaller posters saying "Black Dyke Energy", "Dyke Power", "Lez be friends ❤️", "#L with the T", "Stand By Your T", and some others too far away to be read, one apparently mentioning "terfs". 4. Another crowd holding a "#L with the T (not a debate)" rainbow flag/trans flag banner, and a lot of smaller cardboard posters, saying "Trans women are sexy", "Trans women fought for gay rights", and many other too far away for reading, and also a lot of gay pride flags and trans pride flags. 5. A close-up in the crowd of the third picture, focusing in one black women with a yellow dress and short curly hair and the people around them, with the "manchester lesbians stand by your trans" banner poking into the image. The woman is smilling and holding a cardboard poster saying "Black Dyke Energy #LWithTheT". Some of the posters described in the 3rd picture are also visible here, and beside the black woman is another person wearing sunglasses and a black t-shirt saying "#Stand by your trans". 6. A bunch of people followed by a red car, holding more posters. They say "Trans sisters are sisters #LWithTheT 🩷" and "Chwarae Teg". There is a Welsh flag hung in the background, and the car has a trans pride flag with two Welsh flag red dragons standing in front of each other and making a heart with their hands on its hood. /end ID.

MANCHESTER
A busy day in a rainy Manchester. After a reasonable sleep and breakfast , I was joined by two women from SI Manchester .We set off on a walk to meet up with another.of their club members .We passed through Canal Street which is the Gay Village of Manchester . As it is very close to where I stay in Manchester ,I have seen it many times but as Manchester Pride concluded yesterday the street decorations etc were still in evidence.
One of our first stops was the bronze sculpture "Rise up Women" , also known as "Our Emmeline". This was uvelied in December 2018 and was the first statue honouring a woman erected in Manchester since a statue of Queen Victoria was dedicated more than 100 years before!
Tumblr media
After a long coffee break we walked to St Ann's Square and into the Royal Exchange Theatre, which was the former cotton exchange and boasts a round theatre space which unfortunately was under some renovation work in readiness for the next production in September.
We then continued onto what is known as The Medieval Quarter to visit Manchester Cathedral. Here we were very lucky to encounter a wonderful guide whoi gave us an amazing (free ) tour of the cathedral. The three "locals" enjoyed the tour as much as I did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Following this three of us adjourned for lunch to the nearby "the Old Wellington" pub , the oldest in Manchester built is 1552 .
Tumblr media
As the rain had not subsided ,we decided to call it a day . On my way to catch the amazing No 1 free bus back to my hotel , I came upon St Ann's Church which I had never seen before.
Tumblr media
Outside the church was this wonderful sculpture.
Tumblr media
After I arrived back at Piccadilly, I headed to the supermarket to buy some fruit and found yet another sculpture.
Certainly a day of sculptures!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A small snack and a glass of merlot finished off a lovely day.

one of my favourite things about living in manchester is that manchester pride is really late in the summer, like end of august typically. everywhere is still selling and decorated with pride stuff by June, though!
so in manchester pride is not a month but a season

Tag Game To Better Know You! Send this to people you'd like to know better!
thank you for the tag @knivesofwater <3 i always enjoy tag games :D
what book are you currently reading?
emma by jane austen, i bought the book like 2 summers ago but never finished it, i found it boring at the time :P now i find it more interesting, i've barely started it though.
what do you usually wear?
i have two sides, cutesy femme lesbian that wears pink flowery dresses and all the jewelry she owns, or jock dyke that wear sports bras and shorts everywhere. depends on the day or where i'm going.
how tall are you?
height is a social construct (< is 1.53)
what’s your star sign? do you share a birthday with a celebrity or historical event?
i'm a gemini! and yes, i share my birthday with manchester united women, since the women's side was re-launched on the same day as my birthday (but we don't share birth year)
do you go by your name or a nickname?
everyone just calls me zyan, only my parents call me by my full name - and my friend marjorie when she's upset about my fic decisions, but other than that she usually calls me baby z or zyanny.
did you grow up to become what you wanted to be as a child?
well, i didn't marry a handsome prince at 16 or became a veterinarian, so nope. but i still write stories, and 7 year old me would be glad to know we still write stories about fairies.
are you in a relationship? If not, who is your crush if you have one?
nope, but i'm head over heels for a girl from college, and sometimes i think she may like me too but i'm probably just misinterpreting things.
what’s something you’re good at vs something you’re bad at?
i'm really good at writing! i take pride in this, one day i would like to be a serious published author with one of the big editorials in argentina. but on the other side, i'm really bad at doing push ups or frontal kicks - and i've been a kick boxer for 3 years now, but i still can't polish those things.
if you draw/write, or create in any way, what's your favorite picture/favorite line/favorite etc. from something you created this year?
this line from obsesionario, chapter 2:
Dani smiles, a warm feeling spreading on his chest when he thinks of Jamie. “I believe in him too, coach,” he says, genuine. It doesn’t matter that he’s known Jamie for a couple hours, or that he’s tried to get rid of the cosmic ties that bind them together before, Dani will always be on Jamie’s side, even if he doesn’t want him to be.
and this paragraph from tierra y sol:
He will never admit it out loud, but at this point the bar is an extension of himself. He knows it like the back of his hand and in turn, it knows him. He doesn’t hit his head with the annoying starfish decorations Sarita put up, his hand knows exactly where not to touch the wooden surface lest he’ll get splinters, his eyes don’t roam around the cabinet looking for some specific bottle because his gut knows it’ll be on the top left corner – the bar is more his than the hotel’s.
i really like the tierra y sol one because i've been experimenting with this way of writing characters - their actions and behaviors define their personalities more than the words they say can, and i think it makes them infinitely more human than detailed descriptions of their lives can. (sorry for the rant, the letras student in me comes out when talking about writing lol)
what’s something you’re currently obsessed with?
king of fighters! remember the arcade games you spent the change from the groceries your mom sent you to buy? those. i'm obsessed with the 2001 game, i've been playing it for a couple days now, my favorite characters are four and i've been writing some fics about them in my ff.net. if anyone's interested, my account is dollalpaca.
what’s a hidden talent of yours?
i can be really quiet when i need to be, so i'm a master at spooking my friends or leaving without being noticed. works perfectly for social gatherings i'm forced to attend lol.
what's something you wish to have at this moment?
this really cute pink holographic dress i saw the other day while buying a christmas gift for my mom, but alas i had to buy my mom's gift, i didn't have enough money for two items.
gonna tag some wc and newer mutuals too so hi @dykecotomia @astillaz @korderoatado @jonascarp912 @onlynaturaltohardenup @milfgeto @butchclericbeast do this if you'd like, if not no problem <3
