[ad_1] Paromita Das GG News Bureau New Delhi, 22nd November. History often bears witness to periods of immense suffering that shape the identity and resilience of communities. One such chapter is the brutal atrocities committed against Hindus during the Razakar movement under the Nizam of Hyderabad. These events, exemplified by the harrowing tale of Mallikarjun Kharge’s family tragedy, represent the immense violence that Hindus and Dalits endured. Despite such tragedies, successive Congress governments have been accused of failing to confront or even acknowledge these historical atrocities, prioritizing political expediency and vote-bank politics over justice and truth. This article explores the impact of Muslim atrocities on Hindus, the silence of leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, and how Congress’s policies have historically sidelined the Hindu majority. The Razakars’ Atrocities: A Historical Overview The Razakars were a paramilitary force loyal to the Nizam of Hyderabad, determined to resist Bharat’s integration and maintain the princely state’s independence or merge it with Pakistan. Led by Qasim Rizvi under the banner of Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (MIM), their campaign was marked by: Widespread Violence: Hindus and Dalits faced large-scale massacres, rapes, and arson. Entire villages were destroyed. Targeting Dalits: Dalits, particularly resistant to religious conversion and Nizam’s rule, were often singled out for brutal attacks. Cultural and Religious Oppression: The atrocities extended to temples, cultural institutions, and symbols of Hindu identity, erasing centuries-old heritage. Mallikarjun Kharge’s Personal Loss Kharge’s family was among the many victims of these atrocities. His mother, three sisters, and extended family members were burned alive when their home in Bhalki, Karnataka, was attacked by the Razakars. This tragedy left Kharge and his father to rebuild their lives after fleeing to safety. His story underscores the suffering endured by countless others during this period. Dr. Ambedkar’s Resistance to Religious Conversion Amid the violence, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar emerged as a powerful voice against forced conversions. He urged Dalits to flee the Nizam’s rule rather than submit to conversion. His call emphasized resilience and the preservation of religious and cultural identity, becoming a rallying cry for Dalit empowerment against communal oppression. Mallikarjun Kharge’s Silence: Political Expediency? Kharge’s refusal to explicitly name the perpetrators of his family’s tragedy has sparked controversy. Critics argue that his silence is motivated by: Vote-Bank Politics: A fear of alienating Muslim voters, who form a significant bloc in the Congress’s electoral strategy. Congress’s Narrative: Aligning with Congress’s approach of avoiding issues that might disrupt their positioning as champions of minority rights. This perceived silence does little to honor the memory of victims like Kharge’s family and others who suffered similar fates, leading to accusations of betrayal by segments of the Hindu and Dalit communities. The Congress party’s history is riddled with examples of policies and actions that have been interpreted as favoring minority appeasement at the expense of the Hindu majority. These include: Partition and Its Fallout Congress’s acquiescence to the partition of Bharat on religious lines resulted in one of history’s bloodiest mass migrations, disproportionately affecting Hindus and Sikhs. Refugee crises in Punjab, Bengal, and other regions left millions displaced and killed. Special Provisions for Minorities in Congress’s regime Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir provided special privileges to a Muslim-majority state while marginalizing Hindu communities like the Kashmiri Pandits. The Minority Commission and Waqf Board created exclusive privileges for Muslims, sidelining the needs of other communities. Discrimination in Temple Governance Hindu temples remain under Congress government control, with their
funds often diverted for purposes that include subsidies for minority-specific initiatives, such as the Hajj pilgrimage. Legislative Measures The Places of Worship Act and the Prevention of Communal Violence Bill were seen as biased toward safeguarding minority interests while ignoring the rights and grievances of Hindus. The Implications of Congress’s Approach These policies have fostered resentment among Hindus, who view Congress as a party more concerned with securing minority votes than with ensuring equitable governance or addressing historical grievances. The Danger of Historical Amnesia Failing to acknowledge atrocities like those committed by the Razakars creates a dangerous precedent of historical amnesia. It prevents justice for victims and emboldens forces that thrive on erasing or distorting history. For instance: The atrocities by the Razakars have often been overshadowed by Congress’s reluctance to revisit such episodes, leaving younger generations unaware of these critical events. The legacy of the MIM, which originated as a cultural and political organization under the Nizam and later metamorphosed into a party with a communal agenda, remains unaddressed. Confronting the Truth Bharat’s political leaders must rise above narrow political interests to address painful chapters of history honestly. While the Congress party’s strategy of appeasement has yielded short-term electoral gains, it has come at the cost of eroding trust among large sections of the population. Leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge owe it to their constituents to speak the truth about their experiences and the historical context of communal atrocities. Breaking the Cycle True reconciliation requires acknowledging past injustices, fostering an environment where all communities can coexist peacefully, and ensuring that no group is allowed to act with impunity. Conclusion: A Path Forward The story of Mallikarjun Kharge’s family tragedy is not just a personal tale of loss but a reminder of the communal fault lines that have shaped Bharat’s history. To move forward as a nation, political parties like Congress must abandon their vote-bank politics and focus on equitable governance that respects all communities. The acknowledgment of Hindu suffering, such as the Razakar atrocities, is not about fostering division but about ensuring historical truth and justice. Only by confronting these truths can Bharat hope to heal its wounds and build a future rooted in mutual respect and unity.   The post Muslim Atrocities on Hindus: Unveiling a Dark Chapter and Congress’s Complicity for Political Gains appeared first on Global Governance News- Asia's First Bilingual News portal for Global News and Updates. PM At Ram Temple Inauguration Today, History At Ayodhya
The consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, a 50-year-project of the BJP and long awaited by many, will take place today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to Ayodhya to participate in the ceremony, which will be telecast live.
Tumblr media
Here are the top 10 updates on this big story The consecration ceremony will be celebrated across the country and Indians abroad with special prayers and various programmes at local temples. The occasion has been hailed as a Diwali -- the festivities that marked Lord Ram's homecoming after the battle with Ravan and temples and houses have been strung with festive lighting. PM Modi has been observing a series of strict 11-day religious rituals to prepare for the consecration ceremony at noon. He will also address the gathering on the occasion, read a statement from his office.
"The historic Pran Pratishtha ceremony will be attended by representatives of all major spiritual and religious sects of the country. People from all walks of life including representatives of various tribal communities will also attend the ceremony," read the statement.
PM Modi will interact with labourers who have been building the Ram temple. He would also visit Kuber Tila, where the ancient temple of Lord Shiv has been restored, and offer prayers. The 380x250 feet temple is being built in the traditional north-Indian Nagara style. Its 392 pillars, 44 doors and walls have elaborate carvings of gods and goddesses. The idol of five-year-old Lord Ram has been placed at the sanctum sanctorum. The Kuber Tila stands at the southwestern part of the complex. Near the temple is a well (Sita koop), believed to be dating back to the ancient era.
Various leaders of the BJP and its ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh have already been camping out at Ayodhya, which has prepared to receive over 11,000 visitors. Over the last weeks, the sleepy temple town has had an international airport and a renovated railway station. Hotels, guest houses and homestays have mushroomed, bursting it at the seams and bringing in the long awaited economic boom.
The opening of the Ram temple -- which has been at the heart of a decades-long political storm -- has been cold-shouldered by most Opposition parties including the Congress, Left, Trinamool Congress and the Samajwadi Party, which accused the BJP of gaining political mileage from religion on an election year. The BJP has hit back, censuring all who declined the invite, including the Congress's Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Calling the parties anti-Hindu, the BJP has declared that they will get their punishment from the people at the hustings.
The event has also drawn other controversies -- including the one that involves the Shankaracharyes of four premier monasteries staying away. The Puri and Joshimath Shankaracharyas have said consecration of an incomplete temple cannot be held. They have also questioned why PM Modi will be inside the sanctum sanctorum when the Shankaracharyas have been allotted seats outside. The event, they have alleged, is being given a political angle.
The building of the temple started after the Supreme Court, in a landmark judgment of 2019, awarded the disputed land for a temple and asked that Muslims be given an alternate plot for a mosque. The matter, which went to court shortly after Independence, had escalated after hundreds of Karsevaks razed a 16th Century mosque on the site, believing it was built over a temple marking the birthplace of Lord Ram.

"Nothing To Do With Hinduism", Rahul Gandhi Hits Out At BJP At Paris Event
Rahul Gandhi's jabs invited a predictably furious response with BJP Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya taunting his rival for "crying… while Bharat achieves global consensus" - a reference to the the weekend's G20 meet.
Tumblr media
New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party and its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Sunday, declaring neither “have nothing to do with Hinduism” and that “there is nothing Hindu about what the BJP does…”. Mr Gandhi was at an event in France on Sunday, when he said, “I have read the Gita, a number of the Upanishads and many Hindu books… absolutely nothing Hindu about it (the BJP)… “
“I have not read anywhere in any Hindu book, or heard from any learned Hindu person, that you should terrorise or harm people weaker than you. This idea… this word — ‘Hindu nationalist’ — this is a wrong word. They are not ‘Hindu nationalists’… they have nothing to do with Hinduism,” Mr Gandhi emphasised.
Interacting with students at Paris’ Sciences PO University, he ripped into the government, which has been widely criticised for suppressing opposition leaders’ voices within the country, accusing them of being “out to gain power at any cost”.
“They (BJP and RSS) have nothing to do with Hinduism. They are out to gain power at any cost… and will do anything to ensure the caste structure and social structure of my country is not threatened,” he said.
“They seek the dominance of a few… that is what they are about.”
Mr Gandhi’s comments came after a question about the “scary radicalisation of youth by Hindutva forces”. This is not the first time he has attacked the BJP on this topic. In 2021, he called them “fake Hindus” who “use” religion for their benefit.
The jabs invited a predictably furious response with BJP Lok Sabha MP Tejasvi Surya taunting his rival for “crying… while Bharat achieves global consensus” — a reference to the “100 per cent” declaration from the weekend’s G20 meet.
The very fact Rahul Gandhi thinks Hinduism is practiced by referring to ‘books’ shows how shallow his understanding of our dharma,” Mr Surya gloated on X (formerly Twitter).
“That he has been reduced to crying before a handful of people in some far away European city, while Bharat is achieving global consensus at G20, is telling of how the nation has rejected his brand of politics in the last decade,” he declared. And Then The ‘Sanatan Dharm’ Row
Mr Gandhi’s jabs also come amid a fight over Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s comment about ‘Sanatan Dharm’, which the BJP and right-wing commentators have claimed is a “call for the genocide of people with Sanatan thoughts”.
Earlier this month Mr Stalin said, “Sanatana (Dharma) ought to be eradicated like malaria, dengue and mosquito…”
An apoplectic BJP hit back, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several members of his cabinet and party targeting him. Mr Stalin was even the target of a ₹ 10 crore bounty allegedly issued by a temple priest in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
Mr Gandhi has not, so far, responded directly to this controversy, although his party has, flip-flopping between support and criticism. Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge disavowed any religion that does not treat all people as equals. However, Congress boss Mallikarjun Kharge, his father, seemed to want distance, declaring “there is no need to mix religion, politics”.

A Jyotirlinga or Jyotirlingas is a devotional representation of the Hindu god Shiva. The word is a Sanskrit compound of Jyoti's 'radiance' and ling. There are twelve traditional Jyotirlinga shrines in India.
