Like seriously, put Regina mills and Evie together side by side, and they look seriously related. Same with Once upon a time Cruella and Carlos.

Disney should've used the Once upon a time cast as the descendants' vk's parents instead of the people they casted

Today i'll be talking about how mal's behavior in descendants 2 is more than the "i don't belong here" and "i just don't fit in" type that i thought it was when i first watched this movie. Mal's behavior here actually stems from the abuse her (and the other VKs) suffered from for years at the hands of their parents. Sometimes going back to old habits and patterns, even they hurt you, is the easist thing for people to do because it's the only thing they've known for so long that, even if it hurts, it feels comfortable. This mentality is what i think drives mal to go back to the isle in the 2nd movie. That's all.

From what I know about Greek mythology, Hades was one of the few gods who never actually cheated on his wife.

Sure, he had quite a few dalliances before he married Persephone. But once they were married, he was always faithful to her, unlike some other relatives of his I could name.

Which is why him being Mal's father is surprising, because it means he, after thousands of years, was unfaithful to his wife and had a child with another woman.

And if it's unlikely enough he'd cheat once, it's extremely more unlikely he'd cheat twice. So while Mal may be the daughter of Hades and Maleficent (AU where Mal is actually the daughter of Hades and Persephone but Maleficent kidnapped her), Hadie is almost certainly the son of Hades and Persephone, and not another woman on the Isle.

D3 Rewatch

Y’all, there are two moments that may have gone unnoticed. I can’t remember cuz it was FIVE YEARS AGO but in the spirit of Rise of Red coming, here’s another random analysis posts.

Two Harry Hook moments in D3 stuck out to me

His whole character in D2 centered around being an unhinged second hand to Uma. In D3 he was more played out to be a MASSIVE flirt, very obnoxious, and still very unhinged.

Except:

(To Ben) You’re probably just gonna throw us all back inside.

(To Mal, on Uma’s behalf) You talk pretty, but she’s already made up her mind.

In these moments, for just a brief second, HARRY HOOK SEEMS SANE.

The situation gets real. His safety (and Uma’s) are not only threatened but guaranteed to be tanked with the return to hell on earth, and his unhinged facade (come on, its a cover) drops.

You can also say it drops when the groups reconvene after finding Ben and he asks Uma if she’s okay all quiet like, but lbr we’re all rewatched that scene to its death, Harry being soft to Uma is nothing new.

Hey, Descendants fandom, quick question, do any of you have Headcanons for the VKs other patents? You know, the people who the villains had their kids with? Because i was watching a Disney villains retrospective on Youtube and the poster of the video mentioned thinking about the villains spouses... So yeah, i've been thinking a lot about that. Like, who tf was brave enough to have a kid with CRUELLA DE VIL of all poeple?. I'm pretty sure that Mal is the only VK that has both parents confirmed (at least in the movies, idk about the books).

I know that the other parent doesn't really matter all that much, because at the end of the day we all only care about the Villain parent, not the random they had a kid with. I mean, is "Jay son of Jafar" not "Jay son of Jafar and that random lady'". But... I don't know, is kinda weird (?) to see every single villain in the saga as a single parent and it makes me ask a lot of questions.

The logistics and timeline don't make sense, specialy with the villains that had to be revive to be traped in the island. Asuming that all the VKs are the biological kids of the OG villains, how did they got their kids in the first place? Asuming that all the villains had their kids after being traped in the island, wich would be the case with the dead villains that had to be brought back to life like Ursula, Grimhilde, Maleficent, Facillier, etc wouldn't that mean that they had kids with eachother? Mal's parents are Maleficent and Hades so pairings between the villains are not out of the question, but guess Disney didn't want to push the shipping between their villains too much.

And what about the villains who didn't die at the end of the movie like Cruella? Did they had their kids before or after being traped? I'm asuming after, because i doubt they would send an entire family to the island or meybe she was already pregnant with Carlos when they traped her?.

The more i try to rationalise it, the worse this makes King Beast/Adam looks, lol.

Anyways, i want to make an Descendants AU and i want to know if anyone else has any headcanons for the VKs second parents, i think there is a good deal of angst potential there, so far i only got Gil's mom and Carlo's dad picked.

Gils mom is one of the Blonde Gaston Fangirls that we see in the movie, the red one. Not a very original choice, but is the one that makes the most sense to me.

Carlos dad is Lars, that one artist that shows in 101 dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure. I liked his interactions with Cruella and since Descendants is an alternate universe, i'm going to change the context of their relationship a little bit.

I just realized in ‘Wickedly Sweet’ that Dara has Mal’s lines, Ruby has Carlos’s, Kylie has Jay’s, & Malia has Evie’s.

I think this fits their characters because Uliana is the most wicked like Mal was in the first Descendants movie, Bridget is the sweetest one out of all of this like Carlos was, Red does give a lot of Jay vibes so her having Jay’s lines fits perfectly, & Chloe reminds me a lot of Evie.
