Los Angeles, CA -- Jessica Pratt will be releasing her new album Here In The Pitch on May 3 via Mexican Summer. Earlier this week, she released the second single titled "World On A String," along with a music video directed by Kate Bollinger. The soft track spans just about 3 minutes long and its vintage pop sheen will have you in a sun-filled daze. From Pratt's lower register to the glittery hooks, "World On A String" is filled with possibilities and a child-like wonder for life. There's a hypnotic lull to the track that'll have you in mesmerized sway.
“On this track I was influenced by the swaying, naive brilliance of 'lost' teenage garage rock bands, as well as enduring loves like The Nazz and Guided By Voices,” Pratt says. "Record the song moments after you've learned it on an instrument you've just picked up. Oftentimes, that's all you need.”

Tokyo Police Club Announce Farewell Tour Dates and Share Last Songs
In January, Tokyo Police Club announced their decision to disband following a final farewell tour. The Canadian group has now unveiled the details of this tour, which will conclude with four performances at Toronto's History. Find the tour dates listed below. Additionally, Tokyo Police Club has released their last two tracks, produced by Jesse Turnbull at Toronto's Taurus Recording. The songs, titled “Just a Scratch” and “Catch Me If You Can,” are available for listening below. Tokyo Police Club, comprising vocalist and bassist Dave Monks, guitarist and keyboardist Graham Wright, drummer Greg Alsop, and guitarist Josh Hook, was formed in Ontario in the mid-2000s. The band first caught attention with EPs like A Lesson in Crime and Smith, leading to their debut album, Elephant Shell, in 2008. They subsequently released three more albums: Champ in 2010, Forcefield in 2014, and TPC in 2018. Josh Hook reflected on the journey, saying, "We've been incredibly lucky and honored to share our music and to experience so many personal moments with our fans, from graduations and birthdays to onstage proposals. Seeing familiar faces from our early tours and connecting with so many over nearly two decades is a true privilege. This final tour is the ultimate retirement celebration we could have hoped for. US tour re-routing (high priority)
April 20th, 2010
April 25 Boston, MA Paradise Rock Club (18+) 26 New York, NY Irving Plaza 27 Washington, DC 9:30 Club 28 Covington KY Mad Hatter Club 29 Madison, WI Majestic Theatre 30 Chicago, IL Cabaret Metro May 01 Minneapolis MN First Avenue 04 Seattle, WA Showbox Theatre 05 Portland OR Hawthorne Theatre 07 San Francisco, CA The Regency Ballroom 08 Los Angeles, CA El Rey Theatre 10 Pomona CA The Glass House 11 San Diego CA San Diego Women’s Club
If you look to the listings above, you will see how we hope this tour to pan out.
Incase you’ve not become aware previously, due to the erupting of a volcano in Iceland, all flights in and out of the united Kingdom have been stopped dead for the past 5 days. An upshot of this has meant that we have been unable to travel to the States.
More recently, flights have begun to be allowed, however as we were due to fly on the 15 April, we are no longer a priority to the airlines. Sadly it’s not a case of us being able to jump on the first flight over, we have to wait our turn.
I’m very sorry that we have disappointed some with the necessary cancellations, though obviously you appreciate that everything has been totally out of our hands. Please, if it offers any comfort, consider how sad you might be to miss us and multiply it by several million to get somewhere near how gutted we are to be on the other side of the world, missing these shows, missing you guys and hemorrhaging money.
But, all is not lost, and hopefully we will be with you on the weekend.
The gist is this.
Tonight’s Toronto show, and tomorrow’s show at Maxwell’s, New Jersey are CANCELLED
Thursday’s New York show rescheduled for Monday 26 April.
Saturday’s Boston show will happen one day later than orginally planned on Sunday 25 April.
It just remains to say thank you very much to Alun and Ffion at Ankst for working so tirelessly to get us on flights and keep us in the loop, and Matt Hickey and his guys in the States for helping re route this tour.
One thing I am certain of, when we make it to you, these are going to be the most violently euphoric shows we have ever played.

AGFA announces theatrical screenings of the 4K restoration of John Carpenter’s ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13
The American Genre Film Archive, the largest non-profit genre film archive and distributor in the world, is thrilled to announce theatrical screenings of John Carpenter's ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13—newly restored in 4K.
Written, directed, scored, and edited by Carpenter two years prior to HALLOWEEN, ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 combines the template of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD with the spirit of RIO BRAVO to forge a movie like no other. The story follows a group of police offers (including the mighty Austin Stoker) and convicts as they join forces inside a soon-to-be-closed L.A. police station. The reason? They must defend themselves against Street Thunder, a vicious gang who have taken a blood oath to kill someone trapped inside the precinct. Combining gritty action with arthouse style, ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 features powerful Cinemascope compositions, a pulsing synth score, and an immersive mood that only Carpenter can deliver.
“It’s an honor to represent Carpenter’s legacy, given how much personal joy his work has created for us,” said AGFA Theatrical Director Bret Berg. “When it’s something as iconic as PRECINCT 13—akin to the heartstopping majesty of HALLOWEEN—we’re driven to get this taut masterwork in front of as many audiences as we can. Big thanks to the CKK Corporation for sheparding this new restoration.”
Newly restored in 4K, ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 is back on the big screen—loud, beautiful, and inescapable, as it was always meant to be seen.

The tour will go on-sale to the public this Friday, February 9th at 10AM local time. Full tour dates listed below. For 20 years The Decemberists have been one of the most original, daring, and thrilling American rock bands. Founded in the year 2000 when singer, songwriter, and guitarist Colin Meloy moved from Montana to Portland, Oregon and met bassist Nate Query, keyboardist Jenny Conlee, and guitarist Chris Funk, The Decemberists’ distinctive brand of hyperliterate folk-rock set them apart from the start with the release of their debut EP 5 Songs in 2001. After making their full-length debut with Castaways and Cutouts in 2002, the band signed with Kill Rock Stars for the release of the acclaimed albums Her Majesty the Decemberists (2003) and Picaresque (2005), which was produced by Chris Walla. The 2004 EP The Tain – an 18-minute single-track epic – made the band’s grand creative ambitions clear. Around this time the band’s permanent line-up fell into place with the arrival of drummer John Moen, and they made the unexpected leap to Capitol Records for their first major label album in 2006. Fans’ concerns of whether the band would alter their trademark sound quickly vanished when they delivered their most ambitious and audacious record to date in The Crane Wife, a song cycle produced by Walla and Tucker Martine (who would become a longtime creative partner) that added elements of ‘70s prog, hard rock and even quasi-disco to their palette. The album was met by wide acclaim from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, SPIN, Stereogum, and was named Best New Music by Pitchfork. Three years later, The Hazards of Love – a full-length concept album based on Meloy’s idea for a stage musical - was a Top 20 hit. In 2011, they topped themselves yet again with their first #1 album, The King Is Dead, which featured the GRAMMY-nominated song “Down By The Water.” After their 2015 album What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World, which included the #1 AAA radio hit “Make You Better,” The Decemberists changed up… https://chorus.fm/news/the-decemberists-burial-ground/
