MUSIC VIDEO: "OH NO!"
‚Tis the season of reflection, and what better way to celebrate the spirit of Christmas than by delving into the mesmerizing world of Marina’s past fashion? This festive season, let’s take a stylish trip down memory lane and revisit the iconic fashion moments that have left an indelible mark on our style radar.
This Christmas, I can’t help but be inspired by the fabulous allure she exuded in the 2010 music video for "Oh No!" directed by the visionary Kinga Burza. The styling brilliance of Celestine Cooney played a pivotal role in creating an aesthetic that resonates even today.
For the opening scene, Marina wore a pink color-block short-sleeved shift dress with horizontal stripes from the House of Holland Fall/Winter 2009 collection.
Marina completed look n. 1 with a pair of Pleaser Kiss 208-2 clear PVC platform sandals with silver piping.
Marina sported a second total House of Holland Fall/Winter 2009 look – cropped wool jacket with the matching pleated jodhpur trousers, both in an array of purple hues with contrasting white horizontal stripes. And peep those square-shaped buttons!
Indian designer Ashish used to be the most worn brand of hers during the "The Family Jewels" era so it's no surprise she incorporated some of his colorful sequin designs into the video.
From his Spring/Summer 2010 collection, Marina chose a kaftan-style mini dress depicting the map of Italy in bold, vibrant colors.
In a bunch of other scenes Marina is rocking the Ashish Spring/Summer 2010 yellow sequin peace sign sleeveless top and a pair of gold sequined capri trousers!
If you‘d ask me to describe this music video in three words, I'd say: fun, whimsical and CAMP!
Marina worked it in a gold sequin credit card dress from iconic French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac's Spring/Summer 2009 runway!
The second money-themed look by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac hails from his Fall/Winter 2009 collection. The cool detail about this dress, which you can‘t really see in these images, is that it has an turquoise silk backside!
Those fabulous disco ball-inspired shoes belong to Maison Margiela's Spring/Summer 2009 20th-anniversary collection.
British fashion designer Christopher Kane also contributed to the "Oh No!" fashion by sending Marina few of his archival pieces, and my personal favorites on top of that.
Here, the Welsh-Greek beauty wore his Spring/Summer 2007 red bandage bodycon mini dress with crystal-embellished pill zipper in pink!
For the final lewk of the video, Marina danced, spinned and jumped around in the most adorable fuchsia crushed velvet mini dress from Christopher Kane's Fall/Winter 2007 collection which was inspired by Paul Delaroche's painting "The Execution of Lady Jane Grey" — and vindictive, man-eating women.
Thanks to this close-up, we can see that Marina wore a pair of insane Christian Louboutin Very Mix strass-studded platform peep-toe pumps in silver.

The One Where Lois Got Married
Except they both said the right names.
But I will take you first to the days leading on to the big day.
Lois' bridal shower was interesting. Albert told his friends that she wants to learn how to bake so we had a suprise baking class at BakeBe in S Maison. I was the first person she made an eye-to-eye contact with and cried right after meeting her girl friends. I enjoyed it very much! Rhea and I made delicious cupcakes that we took home after.
There was a heavy downpour, Friday the 13th upon checking in our Airbnb in Makati. We'll have food for dinner I ordered ahead of time. We just have to do some grocery shopping to fill in some necessities like kitchen towels, wipes, chips slippers for Rhea, mints for all of us and our breakfast the next morning. After early dinner, we prepped our things for the wedding. We were doing so much all at the same time. Pat was steam ironing her gown, Mika was doing a mani and pedi on herself, Koko was cooking our breakfast at night and I prepared some sandwiches for our 'baon' because we all know we're going to starve waiting for hours. Some of us tried to sleep early, Koko and Rhea went to bed first. While Mika, Pat and I just had our little catching up because it's been so long! We talked about our medical conditions, why are we very afraid seeing doctors and some cute-girly stuff. Pat and I finished the night off by watching Friends Season 1 and 4 while painting her nails. By the way, we're ALL at the living room that time when Ross said the wrong name – I totally forgot my friends' reactions. I guess they were too busy doing their thing. Turned off the lights at 2300 expecting to sleep but our brains are still alive! Tried our best to close our eyes because it's definitely a long wedding day.
Running on 2 hours of sleep to witness a beautiful wedding and have a night cap in Poblacion was a stimuli to get up and take a shower. I had to take a bath first then it was Pat and Mika who were next. We also had a very heavy breakfast to prepare us for the day with Mean Girls playing on Netflix. As I am writing this, that time I guess was one of the highlights of that wedding weekend being at peace with my best friends. Anyway, we weren't able to do the dishes. We then proceeded doing our make-up. The light was an absolute challenge because it's hard to do it with a very minimal source of light to check if it sets good! Around 0430, Koko starts to remind or annoy us with his time check while we're all panicking because my eyeshadow isn't perfect, Mika's foundation is cracking, Pat's very slow doing her thing. Rhea by the way left at 0300 to have her make-up done at Lois' hotel suite with Eka. We finished Mean Girls mid-prep and I started looking for a perfect episode of Friends, Ross' wedding to Emily. The rush and excitement we're feeling plus Koko's continues to bother us with his time check while Ron arrived around 0400 and reminded him with things to bring because he'll just attend the wedding. At 0500 we finally booked a Grab, packed our change of clothes and things needed for the whole day. We arrived at around 0515, said hi to Lois asked if she slept well. We caught Eka and Rhea doing a Tiktok in the suite's bathroom and we stayed there all throughout because they didn't have space for us to wait. Took lots of photos, gossiped, tried Tiktok while Mika was trying to attach her nails. I remember Koko also messaging me, he was just in Albert's suite doing nothing but waiting. I wasn't able to reply because I was already with my girl friends enjoying our little company. Poor him but he's a good sport, he did great though! He was dapper and blue really looks good on him. After taking photos wearing our satin robes with Lois and the bride tribe, we're instructed to wear our gowns. I put on highlighter on my girls' shoulder to have that good glow. We go downstairs again and the moment we stepped into the lobby, the strap of my dressed popped. Yes, because I believe I over ate and tried hard to have a snatched appearance. Thankfully, the couple have a very helpful and accommodating set of wedding coordinators and fixed my dress. Phew! I went back to the lobby and the photographer told us that we'll be late if we continue taking photos so we have to proceed to the church. Good thing, Mine has very much welcomed us as Eka's plus ones so we were able to hitch a ride minus Koko and able to drive thru at a Starbucks in Magallanes and had a coffee fix. We met with Ron there and waited for Koko to arrive, had our pre-packed sandwich for breakfast around 0845. We took film photos from Pat while Lois' coordinator was standing there hurrying us to get to the church. It's 0900 and we are all waiting, we were instructed what I'm going to do at the ceremony.
At 0915, the wedding begins. Aaaah I introduced myself to my partner, his name was Joshua? I don't know! Aaah I was ugly crying when the doors opened and showed Lois. We all are! Even Koko on the other side told us he wants to cry so hard but he's with unknown people. Anyway, Lois has been my friend for quite some time now and I know the ups and downs of her life especially when she's struggling in college. He helped her on our senior year in college. Albert was her rock and the love of his life. We teased each other for crying buckets because "Are we her mother?". I guess that will always be my reaction attending weddings. It's beautiful, romantic and meaningful. The ceremony was about 40-minutes reminding them to love one another and not love another one. They weren't able to tell each other's vow because of the time constraints but I heard Lois's part when she got interviewed for the SDE where she cried a lot. I wasn't able to process it but I remember how Albert helped and loved her despite all the things that happened, that Albert is her life. I love how happy Albert was, he's so excited and have the brightest smile. While Lois is radiant with her look and she's so pretty. When it finished, we took a lot of photos inside the church. Amp texted us that he had just woken up and he's going straight to the reception. That was a sunny morning, another set of photos outside church with lots of semi-scripted moments were taken by the photographer. Kudos to him and the team because they brought out the best in the bride and groom squad. Since we all do not fit in Eka's car they went to the reception first. Ron, Koko and I booked a Grab on the way to Le Parc.
We're all tired and sleepy because we haven't had a proper sleep and meal for almost 8 hours now, right? We arrived in Le Parc lunch time. We were seated, table #8. Amp was there and we're completed easily. Of course there are fun games to keep the crowd alive while waiting for the newlyweds. I think Ron won in the animal game? Well for me, I was too busy doing arts and crafts and sticking polariods at their wedding guest book. We took photos — not so much digital but we had polaroids and from the photobooth. We are all laughing and teasing each other about things and munching on the snacks too that Ron and some person from our group won for us. We were also called when Lois and Albert arrived and instruct to follow steps for a dance number. As someone who is over at doing this on Christmas parties and events I didn't do it. I seated on our seats and let them perform. Being the KJ that I am, my friends booed me after their performance of the viral Total Eclipse of The Heart. By the way, we were laughing hard at Eka's turn because she didn't sing! Mine was cackling while taking a video. That's a must watch! We were getting tired of the games and all the gimmick that's been around for like the past 2.5 hours. We are all hangry and finally photo with the bride and groom marked that we can finally eat! Well, the menu was Chicken Alfredo, Chicken Teriyaki, Shrimp with tartar sauce and beef something. Dessert was Buko Pandan shots and they had bar for drinks too. I memorized the menu because that's a criteria when I attend weddings in the future too, kidding. Everyone finished their plates. Can I just tell here that Amp said the chicken teriyaki reminds him of Baliwag chicken which is 100% true! I am a Baliwag Lechong Manok apologist so I liked it so much. Everyone in our table loved the food too. Also while we are all doing this Eka is attending her classes in PCU for her master's degree, Mika was unlucky and pissed that day because she cannot play with her pressed-on nails while all of us are on our phones.
After the late lunch they continued on some games, like raffle where Koko got a LV paperbag (inside was a laundry v(b)asket. Well, another game is for those singles which I was utterly mad because I know Lois is the culprit for this! Koko, Amp, Pat, Rhea and I were called plus some of their friends from high school and Albert's side. God knows how pissed I was because one thing, I will not dance or do something ridiculous infront of many people. I was talking to the coordinator stating clearly that I won't dance ever and he reassured me that I will not. The guys danced and Albert's Best Man remained, the game was like trip to Jerusalem but the guy is at the center and we have to touch a part of his to be eliminated. How unfortunate despite of trying and being the one who really touched that man's arm first instead of Pat, I loss and got retained being with that guy who I told Ron about how pissed I was because the best man was wearing the souvenir shades the whole time. To finish this thing with an ease, we tried to be 'game' just to make the couple and the crowd happy. We followed cheesy-steps from the couple and received 350 pesos which is not bad. I survived the week after that.
That was exhausting, absolutely mind and energy draining. It's about 4 and we are all dead-tired, no one was reacting to cheers anymore. They finally showed us the prenuptial video, pre-wedding film and the same-day-edit wedding film. Koko and I were giddy to tell our friends how Lois and Albert look steamy in their prenuptial video, our inside-jokes were funny as ever. We all loved the final video, they captured the beautiful scenes in the wedding, the guests and entourage reactions, bride and groom had their best scenes too, the church was immaculate even with the simplest flowers. Finally, the wedding was a delight!
It's time to bid goodbye to the couple of the year! Yes, we named them after that because that was a good wait. We tried to be prepared as much as possible but boy, there are just some things that are unpredictable. We booked Grab 2 x for us to get home comfortably. We met everyone in the Airbnb and I get in the shower first because I was feeling too sticky from all the sweat, make-up and tears.
The night after wedding was a night to remember too but that's for another story.
To Lois and Albert, you two are an endgame since the beginning... Surely it will last forever. Please love, understand and trust each other. Here's to your beginning as The Mojicas.
Also to quote from my favorite series though we were not able to watch it on that moment, "I thought I'd never find someone I could relate to…then I found you. And you were weird, too." – Chandler to Monica
I hope someone who's reading this post will find Chandler to his Monica and vice versa. Never lose faith in love. May you never ever get tired of waiting and finding love (and peace). And if you ever find one, I hope he/she loves you the way you wanted to be loved. It's the best kind and the love in its highest form.
PS.
May your soul rest in peace, Matthew Perry. (August 19,1969-October 28, 2023)

For the oc questionnaire thing, I'd like to know #1, #3 (preferably physical traits), #31 and #43 for all of your guys if you have the time!
oooh this is gonna be a long one :D (related to this ask meme)
1: What is their go-to comfort food?
Maison Surana: Orlesian chocolate truffles. Tried them once at a banquet he was performing at and got obsessed. You could bribe him with them.
Orev Hawke: Hearty, heavy Fereldan stew like they used to make in Lothering. It’s just potato and turnip and whatever veggies are in season, doesn’t even taste like much but keeps you warm and fed.
Thelrael Lavellan: Sweets of any kind, but most of all a certain Dalish dessert made primarily from wild honey & roasted fruit.
Magnolia Trevelyan: Tomato soup but with tons of hot pepper powder – a classic she’s used to from the Circle, but the spice is her own twist to make it more interesting. Overall, she loves spicy & heavily seasoned cooking, the more the better even if it makes her eyes water. If habanero potato chips were a thing in Thedas she’d eat three bags a day.
3: What is something they really like about themselves and what is something you really like about them? (Physical Traits)
Maison: He doesn’t care too much about his appearance aside from looking neat and presentable but takes some joy in his teeth being pointier than normal. Part of it is just how they always looked, part of it is Warden Weirdness. I love his facial scars, both the characterization aspect (refuses to cover them up yet hates seeing them in the mirror) and from a “looks badass” aspect.
Orev: He really likes his hair and tries out all kinds of styles with it once he has the time and money. And honestly I agree, it’s also my favourite thing about him to draw :D
Thelrael: He really, really likes his legs, all his outfits are built around making his legs stand out (haha get it. stand out). I really like his profile, it’s overall flat and a bit round — a bit of a babyface that absolutely works for him and makes him look mischievous.
Magnolia: She really likes her overall build, especially her muscular arms. Worked lots and carried around lots of things when she was tranquil which sucked, but at least now it helps her defend herself. Josephine’s obvious glances are a big plus too. I really like her eyes, they’re big and a very dark deep brown.
31: What would make them blush?
Maison: Compliments and reassuring words about him as a person. He holds himself to impossibly high standards and is never satisfied, but hearing that others think positively about him means so much.
Orev: Coming from the right person, almost everything. Friend telling him they care about him or thanking him? Red. Anders kissing him or even just giving him the smallest compliment? Bright fucking red. Meanwhile anyone outside his close social circle could blatantly and passionately flirt with him and get nothing more than a friendly smile or some playful flirting back. All or nothing babe
Thelrael: It takes *a lot* to get this bastard flustered. A lot. He also has no sense of shame. Whoever tries to make him blush ends up being the actually flustered one within minutes. Nobody has figured out a way to do it yet, but Dorian is certainly trying.
Magnolia: Getting nice personal gifts, especially accessories and flowers. Makes her feel special and courted like a princess. She’s not used to having such nice things and wears them with pride. Getting compliments about how that new hairpin or earring fits her is the cherry on top.
43: And what would you say to comfort them?
Maison: You cannot save everyone, but what matters is that you tried. You helped more people by trying and sometimes failing than you would have through inaction. Let yourself off the hook.
Orev: It’s not your fault. Kirkwall was a sinking ship, and one man alone cannot plug all its leaks no matter how hard he tries. Drowning along with it would not have helped anyone.
Thelrael: It’s okay to be angry. But it is still real, even if the gods were not gods at all, it all still mattered. Every celebration, every story, every ritual still brought your people together.
Magnolia: You’re safe now, and not alone anymore. Nothing can force you back into tranquility or hiding. It’s okay to finally let your guard down and breathe.
#these were fun as hell i dont know why i didnt finish em sooner!! thank you dude#i got mail :D#maison surana#orev hawke#thelrael lavellan#magnolia trevelyan

Ayo this is unedited notes from Misha’s panel excuse the emojis (except for the one after Misha said “what are they gonna do, fire me?” because that one was warrented)
* Watching the finale was tough because it represented the end of a chapter of his life but he has a palpable feeling that the spn family isn’t going anywhere
* Favorite memory making a recipe w/kids and Vicki? Pasta with jam sauce 🥺 bizarre and totally disgusting 😂
* Projects in mind? Yes, worked a lot on US election which was pretty invigorating for him, plans to do more work on Georgia runoff elections. Publishing a book of poetry, close to closing a deal with a publisher for that. Couple of film projects he’s trying to get off the ground, one he wouldn’t be in or direct, other interested in directing and possibly acting.
* What do you think happened when Jack brought Cas back and what’s he doing? There was a different ending that COVID made impossible to shoot. Not supposed to talk about it but it was big crowd scenes. In the original iteration, he didn’t go to recreate Heaven, he had a different ending. Didn’t read the last two endings and watched them as they aired. Knew in the abstract what Cas and Jack’s fates were but he doesn’t really know what the answer is.
* What was West and Maison’s experience of watching Spn for the first time? They can’t watch scary things at all so they haven’t ever watched a full episode. West and Maison asked him to tell them when a scary part was coming up and Misha said “well unfortunately, I don’t really know”. Kids looked totally shellshocked at the cold open 😂 Spn may have been good for his career and the fandom but has irrevocably scarred his children
* Screencapping chat because they’re typing too fast 😂
* Will you go to Russia again? He’d love to but he’s said a lot of bad things about Putin so he might be arrested 😂
* What qualities do he and Cas share? Over time, the character melded with Misha and became softer and more sensitive and tried to do the right thing and be a good person.
* What’s the one thing you’ll take with you from playing Castiel? He thinks a lot. On a professional level, it was fascinating to play a character for so many years, (discussed recently with J2) the characters really became a part of them. Watching Dean’s death he cried, but because “that’s Cas’s friend Dean dying”. Cas will always be will him, an aspect of his being forever.
* What’s your favorite thing to bake with kiddos? Loves to bake pie, fave is strawberry rhubarb.
* He teared up watching 15x18 🥺
* Have other cast members disclosed what the original ending was supposed to be? Doesn’t want to be the one to reveal state secrets but “What are they gonna do, fire me? 😏”
* We saw a version of Heaven that was populated with all the people from their past. But they couldn’t do that due to COVID restrictions.
* Fave BTS memory from set? Don’t have one, they’ve been close friends for 12 years. They’ve had laughing fits, fights, gotten pissed off at each other, but some of his fondest memories of work are of Supernatural.
* Why did Cas’s trench coat stay intact? He can magically mend his clothing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ When he went in, they wanted him to look like Constantine-suit was way too big, had to fold his shirt and tuck it because it was too big. He got a new suit at first which wasn’t explained, lost the tie and then brought it back, which wasn’t explained, and once season they just started him in a new wardrobe and said nothing 😂
* Stole trench coats from set, will probably wrap them around himself and cry at some point
* To get in the zone for Cas’s confession and death, he went and sat in a dark corner of the set and Rob Hayter stood guard over him so no one would bother him 🥺 and when they were ready for him on set, Rob would come over very gently and say “Misha they’re ready for you”
* How did you feel when you read 15x18? He knew that ending was coming for a long time, been talking to Berens about it, and was really happy about it. It was the ending he wanted for Cas. Felt risky and brave for the show to do and he was proud to be a part of that. Seen people complaining about bury your gays trope and he doesn’t feel that’s what happened with Cas’s ending. He’a glad Cas got to have that moment and he’s proud the show did that.
* Do you think you’ll get an SPN tattoo? Doesn’t have any, was thinking about getting some for his children. Should he get tats of Jensen and Jared’s faces? 😂 Get a tat of Cas’s face on his abdomen? 😂 Probably no tattoo re:spn for him but he totally supports anyone that does.
* The last scene he shot as Cas was the last scene of the day on Friday. He, Alex, Rich, and Jensen all had to get to Vegas for a con. They shot late into the night and finished around 1:30-very teary, Misha’s goodbye to the show- had to get a chartered flight to get there on time. One of the engines exploded and they had to circle back, plane was shaking, really scary. Texting their families, didn’t know if they were gonna crash land. It was such a strange night, super intense.
* He misses the pimpmoble.
* What non-hunter job would Cas be good at? Security guard, he never sleeps and never gets bored. Not a great teacher, architect, or artist. Handy in the kitchen, maybe a cook?
* What color are Cas’s wings? Shit, idk, I always thought they were black. Ah! They’re rainbow colored, how about that?
* When he was directing, Jared would take the canvas off his director’s chair and lay it over so it looked like a real chair and Misha fell for that probably 5 times. Jared kept messing up lines so Misha cut and went to see what was wrong and Jared pied him in the face. Jensen brought him another shirt with was nice, went for lunch and Jensen pied him in the face 🙄😂
* Real story behind the handprint in 15x18? He doesn’t remember but it was a really nice touch.
* Fave thing about panels? He and Jensen have had a lot of fun panels in Rome 👀 Brought up the resume-off 👀👀 Had pizza delivered to a panel once.
* Fave version of Castiel to play? Had fun playing Lucifer. Loved playing human!Cas, was fun to explore what it would be like. Just regular Cas was his favorite. Wouldn’t have wanted to trade regular Cas for any other iterations 🥺

Merlant Fashion Week: Day 2 - SOHO DELIGHT
I know I teased spring for today in my first post, but I’ve decided to change to a chronological order, except for the last outfit, as I want to end as powerful as I started. All of these outfits are my personal favorites, without counting high couture gala dresses, because that deserves another whole endeavor that my limited understanding of fashion could not possible meet.
So, now let’s go to Toronto, Canada. September 6, 2019 was a very busy day for out girls, who had to do interviews early in the morning, photoshoots, a Q&A that it’s still mostly hidden to us (which makes me mad) and finally, the party Neon threw to celebrate both POALOF and Parasite. As usual, Noé was flawless.
1. LV POP CROPPED PERFECTO (Louis Vuitton)
One of my favorite jackets, I love the color, the mosaic detail upfront, the position of the zipper and the thingy that closes the waist (sorry, I don’t know the proper english terms). I just think this is super elegant and N wears it like a goddess.
Price: 3,450.00 USD
Sizes from 36 (S or 4) to 40 (L or 8)
“With its bold shoulders, cropped length and cinched waist, this piece captures the season's jacket silhouette. The masculine wool jacquard fabric contrasts with a playful LV Pop printed leather on the flap, its colorful 3D Monogram pattern inspired by TV test cards. Details include a lambskin belt buckle and a signed LV zip puller and snap button.”
Detailed Features
Main : 54% Wool 46% Polyamide
Other : Lamb
Lining : 100% Silk
Blanc Lait, White
Oversize fit
Made in France
2. Black Chemisier Soie (Silk Blouse) (Society Room)
Another Society Room design, and here, it’s important to note, she’s wearing the whole set, both blouse and pants. You can see it in the picture below, she’s just not using another shirt or turtleneck underneath like the model is. I find that very interesting. We know N is a very chilly person, but here, the low open neck matches a lot with A’s blouse design, and I think this was the intention. This the first time they match clothes in a loose way.
Price: Between EUR 200-280.00 (Based on other designs of the same material)
3. Black Skinny Pants (Society Room)
She wore these same pants during ArcLight. In the photo above, you can see the detail of the strip on the side. We can also see how much the design differs from Adèle’s with the detail on the waist.
4. I Love Vivier Suede Ballerinas (Roger Vivier)
I personally like these shoes a lot. They are not only comfy, but the design is mad cute, and I love flats a lot, those are the only girly shoes I love to wear anytime. These ones, I’ve named as the “heart-shaped flats”.
Price: 645.00 USD
Size: Black, Silver.
Size: 35 to 40
Inspired by a print from the archives, I Love Vivier is a declaration of love by the Maison for the female kind. Crafted in suede, the new ballerinas are characterized by a tapered toe and two-tone underfoot with a heart design on the interior. A unique and sensual touch for every day.
Detailed Features
Suede upper
Tapered toe
Leather outsole
Maintenance and care cards included.
Branded dustbag

Wikipedia page for Tomas de Visser [edit]
Tomas de Visser (born June 28, 1992) is a Dutch pastry chef and Prometheus contract. He trained and worked in France for 7 years before moving back to Los Angeles. He’s most known for winning Masterchef US Season 10, and his role as Emiliano in The Boy Venus (2020). He secured his contract with Prometheus after his win from Masterchef in 2018, debuting with his cooking show The French Dutchman Kitchen (2019-). He soon started his acting debut in Heart & Soul (2019). He also currently runs his family bakery business de Visser’s Bakery in Beverly Grove, Los Angeles with his older brother Skylar de Visser, taking over from their parents.
Early Life
Tomas de Visser was born in Delfshaven, Rotterdam, the Netherlands to Markus and Francisca de Visser and have four siblings. He has an older sister, Isa, an older brother, Skylar, and two younger twin sisters Ade and Aleid. Both of his parents and all of his siblings are, or have been, in the culinary industry, where his parents started up a bakery. He spent his childhood in Rotterdam and moved to Los Angeles in his teenage years as his parents decided to migrate their bakery business from Rotterdam to Los Angeles. Tomas started learning to bake at a very young age alongside all his siblings in order to help with the bakery, and he grew a fondness for working with pastries. He graduated from Fairfax High School and forego further education to move to Paris, France at age 19 in 2011.
Career
Patisserie After moving to Paris, Tomas first started up his own Boulangerie & Patisserie however it promptly closed in less than a year. He then started an apprenticeship under Romuald Beauvais at Maison Loulou as a junior pastry chef at age 20 and completed his training, working as a noteworthy pastry chef at Maison Loulou for the next 7 years that went on to bring the restaurant to one of the top rated emerging restaurants in Paris, seeing the restaurant through growing from one Michelin star to three by 2017. Maison Loulou join the ranks with their chefs under the top 100 Best Chefs awards, de Visser winning The Best Chefs Rising Star Award 2017 and nominated Best Pastry Chef. But in 2018 he made the decision to leave the restaurant and return home to Los Angeles to help take care of his father and the family bakery. de Visser’s Bakery is small but established and well known for its traditional Dutch bread and pastries and their famous Dutch cold drip coffee with home roasted beans, now run by de Visser brothers.
Masterchef US 2018 Season 10 de Visser appeared as one of the top 24 in the reality television program Masterchef US 2018. He was declared the competition winner on 20 July 2018, winning $250,000 and a contract offer with Prometheus and de Visser promptly signed on. de Visser appeared as a guest judge for Masterchef US 2019 and 2020, bringing in his desserts for a pressure test in each season.
Prometheus In 2019, de Visser debut in Prometheus as a signed contract with his cooking show The French Dutchman Kitchen, with guest stars in its second season like Julian Santiago, Charles Irons, Juno Benson and Luda Mae Kerrigan. The show is one of the top rated within its genre based on Prometheus ratings.
de Visser made his acting debut as Adam in the television series Heart&Soul (2019) which was nominated and runner up for Best Project for that season in 2019. He was a last minute addition and replacement for the role of Adam.
de Visser also was an extra in Prometheus’ film Hairspray 2019.
In 2020, de Visser joined the cast for Jessamine Beaumont-Jackson’s film The Boy Venus as the lead role Emiliano. The project was later helmed by Julian Santiago as director and Claudia Marshall who was the cinematographer from the start, after the director Beaumont-Jackson’s unfortunate passing. The project still finished and premiered with critical acclaims. He won The Saturn Award for Best Breakthrough Performance for his role of Emiliano, which drew much polarized controversy and divide over his performance in the film. de Visser declined to comment and simply said, "how it's judged.. it's up to them, I just feel fortunate to be here and that Jess put his faith in me, as uh- stressful as that was." It is also rumored that he is in the talks for a role in the new up and coming war film Dunkirk in the Prometheus Fall Season 2020.
He started as a D lister and has shot his way up to Icon in 2 years. Despite also being awarded worst performance for his role as Adam, de Visser was seen as an emerging new contract with a strong cult following. He is also noted to always bring bread and pastries from his bakery to sets he work on. Current Points (as of October 27 2020): 5034
Book There have been rumors for de Visser to be writing his first cookbook with Eve Austero’s involvement, though it is yet to be confirmed.
Personal Life
de Visser stated that he prefers not to discuss the interest in his relationships or family matters publicly, however his younger sister Ade shares frivolously through her recent found TikTok fame. Little is known of his personal life before Prometheus.
Early in his Prometheus career, there had been rumors and photos taken of de Visser being very close to Prometheus escort Tatum Morgan, her appearances with him starts as early as his Masterchef days and the rumors and judgement spread like wild fire only for them to explain that she was his cousin. Some still hold on to the paparazzi claims, belief of something more. de Visser has flatly shot them down, with pictures of them as kids had been posted on Instagram wishing Morgan a happy birthday.
In 2020 when asked in an interview coming from the discussion of his asexuality, he describes himself as demisexual though never saw a need to really use a label, he stated “in the environments I lived in - Dutch and French, it never really mattered.” It is rumored early on that he is dating fellow Prometheus actor Juno Benson, especially with the blow up of them caught kissing on de Visser’s younger sister TikTok video, both had declined to comment until their recent instagram announcement that confirmed they’ve been dating since October 2019.
Filmography

Hairspray (2019) (Extra)
The Boy Venus (2020) (Emiliano)

Food Style
de Visser notes that his food style for his pastries and desserts is very experimental. His foundations are in Dutch and French cuisine but he enjoys pushing boundaries of flavor profiles and conceptualization, which was what he was known for, alongside his impeccable palate, during his Masterchef run. He states “I find so much inspiration from people, the people around me, the people I love, and conceptualize a dish from there. Food is more than just a plate to fill your tummy.” de Visser look up to and is inspired by chefs like Ludo Lefevbre and Reynold Poernomo.

Hopetoun House is a great Outlander filming location to visit. It is right outside of Edinburgh, and one can see the three bridges over the Forth River from the end of the property. There were a minimum of thirteen scenes that were filmed there. The Hopetoun familiy still lives in part of the house, and Midhope Castle (Lallybroch) belongs to the estate and is not far away. The Hopetoun family raises black sheep there. The property is quite extensive and spectacular. I enjoyed walking along all the pathways, and I wish I had had more time there to explore. Here are the scenes that were filmed there:
1. Exterior of Elsmere (season 3) - the front of the house
2. Exterior of Maison de Madame Elise (season 2)
3. Paris market street (season 2)
4. Fergus chased by Jamie (season 2)
5. Duke of Sandringham’s duel (season 1) and Jamie’s sword fight with the McDonalds.
6. Jamie sees Willie in pram (season 3)
7. Jamie drops Geneva in puddle (season 3)
8. Jamie and Geneva riding horses (season 3)
9. Jamie teaches Willie to ride a horse (sason 3)
10. Entrance to the Duke of Sandringham’s (season1)
I think there were further scenes from the Ellesmere time, including Jamie riding away from his son. There were also filming Jamie on the backstairs. The stables are also located on the right (with the streets of Paris just very close by), Jamie tells Willie he is leaving right there. Most of these scenes were filmed behind the Tearoom of Hopetoun House.
Inside the house
11. The Red Room, where Claire meets Sandringham (season 1)
12. Bedroom where Mary is taken after the attack (season 2)
13. Mary’s bedroom in her uncle’s house (season 2)
14. Duke of Sandringham’s residence (season 1)
Many of the scenes from season 2 and 3 were filmed on the right side of Hoptoun House behind the Tearoom. The horse and riding scenes were filmed on the left side of the House in the back along the pathways.

Upcoming performances by Dame Sarah Connolly
[NOTE: this post is now out of date. Check the schedule tag on my blog for the most recent version of this list.]
After the jump: an unofficial schedule of Dame Sarah Connolly’s future performances. Those of you in Britain may catch a performance in London, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Leeds, Gloucester, Exeter, or Chipping Campden. Those on the Continent may see her in Berlin, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Katowice, Geneva, Aix-en-Provence, or Zeist. And finally, those of us in North America have a recital in Philadelphia to look forward to! Don’t live near one of these places? Take in a concert from afar: I am adding online broadcast and livestream details as they become available.
Not much is new in this edition of the list; we are just turning the corner into season-announcements season so there should be more news to report in a couple months. However, Dutch fans of Dame Sarah should check out her May 25 recital at Zeist, the date of which was just recently announced; Londoners should bookmark her March 15 recital at Wigmore Hall, the program for which looks intriguing and seems to be still developing; and Madrileñ@s, don’t forget that Dame Sarah is returning to the Teatro de la Zarzuela for a recital in March a few weeks after her current Wagnerian stint at the Teatro Real comes to a close.
This is not an authoritative list. These are the upcoming performances by Dame Sarah Connolly that I have been able to learn about from Dame Sarah’s new website, Dame Sarah’s agent's website (Askonas Holt), Operabase, Bachtrack, Dame Sarah's Twitter, and generally ferreting around the web.
I sometimes list concerts that are not yet officially confirmed; you should of course check official sources before making plans and be aware that cast changes and cancellations can happen at any time.
I have added links to venue, ticketing, and broadcast information where available. Tips on new information are always welcome! Please contact me via email (verdiprati [at] selveamene [dot] com), Tumblr messaging, or ask box (plain prose only in the ask box; anything with links or an email address will get eaten by Tumblr filters) with corrections or additions.
Wagner, Das Rheingold (Fricka) at the Teatro Real, Madrid, January 17 through February 1, 2019. In a production by Robert Carsen; conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado. Co-stars include Greer Grimsley (Wotan) and Sophie Bevan (Freia) among others.
[New! Deferred broadcast] As of this writing, the Teatro Real has announced that there will be a deferred broadcast of Das Rheingold on RNE Radio Clásica; the date remains TBD.
Berlioz, L’Enfance du Christ with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at Hoddinott Hall, Cardiff, February 15, 2019. Sir Andrew Davis conducts; the other vocal soloists in the all-Brit, all-excellent lineup are Andrew Staples, Roderick Williams, and Matthew Brook.
[New! Broadcast] The program is scheduled for live broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
[New! Livestream] The program is also scheduled for video livestreaming on the orchestra’s website.
Recital with Julius Drake at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, March 5, 2019. Works by R. Schumann, Brahms, Wolf, A. Mahler, and Zemlinsky.
Recital with Julius Drake at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, March 7, 2019. I don’t see the repertoire mentioned on the theater’s website as of this writing, but presumably it will be similar to the works presented in Amsterdam and Philadelphia in the duo’s other recitals this month.
Recital with Julius Drake at the Teatro de la Zarzuela, Madrid, March 11, 2019. Works by Brahms, Wolf, Roussel, Debussy, and Zemlinsky.
Recital with Julius Drake at Wigmore Hall, London, March 15, 2019. Contrary to my earlier guess, Connolly and Drake are not repeating material from their recitals in Amsterdam and Madrid, but rather are preparing a completely different program for the Wigmore. It is described by Dame Sarah’s agency, Askonas Holt, thus: “On 15 March 2019, Sarah offers Dominick Argento’s cycle from Virginia Woolf’s posthumously published A Writer’s Diary, which won the composer the Pulitzer Prize in 1975, and Schumann’s moving late settings of texts attributed to Mary Stuart. She is partnered by pianist Julius Drake and actor Emily Berrington, who will intersperse the songs with reading from Woolf’s diaries and also from Schiller’s ‘Mary Stuart’, in a new translation made especially for the event.” Dame Sarah adds on Twitter, “There will be more songs in the second half.”
[New! Livestream] The recital will be livestreamed on the Wigmore Hall website and will presumably become part of the archived video library afterward.
Recital with Julius Drake at the Kimmel Center, Philadelphia, March 22, 2019. Sponsored by the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society. Repertoire includes works by Brahms, Wolf, Roussel, Debussy, and Zemlinksy.
Recital with Robin Tritschler and Malcolm Martineau at the Wigmore Hall, London, April 24, 2019. The program features Robert Schumann’s Myrthen song cycle.
[New!] Recital with Joseph Middleton at the Festival Katowice Kultura Natura, May 14, 2019. Works by Schumann, Debussy, Zemlinsky, Wolf, and Roussel.
Berlioz, Les nuits d’été at the Chipping Campden Music Festival, May 21, 2019. In a program with orchestral works by Fauré and Mendelssohn. Thomas Hull conducts the Academy Orchestra. The Festival’s website says, “Currently, the only way to make a booking is by postal application. Online booking will be available from early February 2019 after all postal applications have been processed.” Application forms are available on the website.
Recital at the Internationaal LiedFestival Zeist (Netherlands), May 25, 2019. With Sholto Kynoch. Songs by Brahms, Wolf, Debussy and Zemlinsky.
Elgar, The Dream of Gerontius with the Hallé and three choruses at Victoria Hall, Leeds, June 1, 2019. Barry Banks and David Soar are the other vocal soloists; Simon Wright conducts.
[New!] Mahler, Das Lied von der Erde with the Bergen Filharmoniske Orkester at the Grieghallen Bergen, June 5, 2019. With Toby Spence singing the tenor part and Edward Gardner conducting. As of this writing, the orchestra’s website still lists Ekaterina Gubanova as the mezzo soloist for this concert, but the engagement appears in Dame Sarah’s diary on her own website as well as on her agent’s website.
Mahler, Des Knaben Wunderhorn (extracts) and Janáček, Glagolitic Mass at the Maison de la Radio, Paris, June 20, 2019. With the Orchestre National de France and the Choeur de Radio France, conducted by Jukka-Pekka Saraste. The other vocal soloists for the Glagolitic Mass are Simona Šaturová, Mati Turi, and Christof Fischesser.
[Broadcast] This concert will be broadcast live on France Musique.
[New!] Mahler, Das Lied von der Erde at the Festival d’Aix, Aix-en-Provence, July 13, 2019. With the Orchestre de Paris conducted by Ingo Metzmacher; Andreas Schager sings the tenor part.
[New!] Michael Betteridge, Across the Sky (community opera) at the Cheltenham Music Festival, July 14, 2019. The performance is only an hour long and the nature of Dame Sarah’s participation is not totally clear to me from the festival’s website; she is not specifically named as a vocal soloist.
Recital with Malcolm Martineau at Wigmore Hall, London, July 23, 2019. Part of Dame Sarah’s yearlong residency at the Wigmore. Repertoire to include works by Robert Schumann, Gustav Mahler, Frank Bridge, and Benjamin Britten.
Berlioz, La damnation de Faust (in concert, presumably) at the Three Choirs Festival, Gloucester, July 27, 2019. With Peter Hoare, Christopher Purves, and David Ireland. Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 24. Update: Dame Sarah has been replaced in the program by Susan Bickley. I have not seen an explanation given.
Bob Chilcott, A Christmas Oratorio (premiere) at the Three Choirs Festival, Gloucester, August 1, 2019. With Nick Pritchard and Neal Davies. Note that this is an afternoon concert, not the main evening concert for August 1. (Multi-mezzo fans may want to stick around to hear Anna Stéphany do Les nuites d’été in the evening.) Tickets go on sale to the general public on April 24.
[New!] Berlioz, Les Nuits d’été with the National Youth Orchestra of the USA at the Konzerthaus, Berlin, August 6, 2019. Part of a concert conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano. Tickets are available via the link above or on the Konzerthaus website.
[New! Details TBA] Performance with The English Concert at Exeter Cathedral, October 15, 2019. The Two Moors Festival has published a post-event survey intended for 2018 Festival attendees, but available to anyone on the web. The intro blurb to the survey offers respondents “the chance to win two tickets to see Dame Sarah Connolly and The English Concert perform at Exeter Cathedral on Tuesday 15th October 2019.” Keep an eye on the websites for the Two Moors Festival and The English Concert for their full season announcements.
[New!] Mahler, Symphony No. 2, Resurrection, with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Festival Hall, London, October 19, 2019. With Sofia Fomina, the London Philharmonic Choir, and the Philharmonia Chorus. Vladimir Jurowski conducts a concert also comprising Colin Matthews’ Metamorphosis.
[New!] Max Reger, “An die Hoffnung” with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, at Usher Hall, Edinburgh, November 1, and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, November 2, 2019. Part of a concert also featuring Reger’s “Serenade” and Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony, conducted by Neeme Järvi. For details, see the PDF season brochures for Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively.
[Details TBA] Recital with Julius Drake at Temple Church, London, November 25, 2019. I cannot find any reference to this recital on the Temple Music website but the website Seen and Heard International, apparently going on a press release from Temple Music, mentions that Connolly and Drake will perform together on this date. (It also mentions various other concerts confirmable on the Temple Music website, so I assume the website simply is not as comprehensive as the press release.)
[New!] Elgar, Sea Pictures with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, London, December 12, 2019. In a concert conducted by Sir Antonio Pappano that also includes instrumental works by Tippett and Vaughn Williams. (At the time of this writing, the Barbican lists Sir Mark Elder as the conductor for this concert, but that seems to be an error.)
[New!] Oskar Fried, Verklärte Nacht with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican, London, March 13, 2020. With Stuart Skelton; Edward Gardner conducts.
[New! Details TBA] Recital at Wigmore Hall, London, March 19, 2020. Repertoire and accompaniment remain TBA. Listed in the Wigmore Hall preview brochure for the ’19-’20 season.
[New!] Mahler, Das Lied von der Erde with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Festival Hall, London, April 30, 2020. The piece is being billed as The Song of the Earth but there is no indication that it will be sung in translation as well. Andreas Schager sings the tenor role; Xian Zhang conducts the concert, which includes a Mozart symphony in the first half.
[New!] Mahler, Symphony No. 2, Resurrection with the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, De Doelen, Rotterdam, May 14, 15, and 17, 2020. Chen Reiss sings the soprano part; Lahav Shani conducts.
[New!] Wagner, Götterdämmerung (Waltraute, Zweite Norn) at the Opéra national de Paris, November 13, 17, 21, and 28, and December 6, 2020. Part of a new complete Ring Cycle production directed by Calixto Bieito. The 2019-2020 season will include the first two Ring Cycle operas, with Siegfried and Götterdämmerung to follow in October and November 2020; the complete cycle will then be performed sequentially twice in “festival” format during November and December 2020. (The festival performances are being ticketed as a four-opera package; curiously, at the upper end of the price scale, a festival ticket gives you a small discount as compared with buying the four operas separately, but at the lower end of the scale, you pay a premium for the festival. Concise ticket price information can be found on page 168 of the season brochure PDF.) Dame Sarah’s co-stars in Götterdämmerung include Andreas Schager (Siegfried), Ricarda Merbeth (Brünnhilde), Johannes Martin Kränzle (Gunther), and Jochen Schmeckenbecher (Alberich).
[Unconfirmed / details TBA] Handel, Agrippina at the Dutch National Opera. In June 2018, opera critic Hugh Canning tweeted the news that the Royal Opera is planning to offer Barrie Kosky’s new production of Agrippina with Joyce DiDonato in the title role during the ’19/’20 season; in a reply that has now been deleted, Dame Sarah mentioned that she and Alice Coote would do the same production in Amsterdam and Munich. (If you are a member of the Sarah Connolly fan group on Facebook, you can scroll back in time to June and see a screenshot there.) Subsequent discussion revealed that Coote would get the Munich gig (in July 2019), so Connolly must be the Amsterdam Agrippina. Agrippina appears in neither the ’18-’19 season nor ’19-’20 at the DNO, so presumably we must look farther ahead.
[Unconfirmed / details TBA] Brett Dean, Hamlet (Gertrude) at the Metropolitan Opera, New York, sometime in 2021-22. Allan Clayton, who starred in the title role of Brett Dean’s Hamlet at Glyndebourne in 2017, mentioned in an interview with the Telegraph that he would be reprising the role at an unspecified date and venue in the US. When prompted on Twitter, Dame Sarah indicated that she would be participating in the revival, too (“I shall be misunderstanding my confused boy again”). In a later interview with Opera News, Clayton reportedly specified that he would reprise Hamlet at the Met. The Future Met Wiki places the production at the Met in the 2021-2022 season (as does this New York Times article). Hat tip to Christopher Lowrey, who sang Guildenstern in the original production at Glyndebourne, whose tweet praising Allan Clayton brought the Telegraph interview to my attention. (No indication whether Lowrey will also be cast in the American revival.) Additional hat tip to the Tumblrer who submitted information on this topic via the ask box.

Roh Suha: Survey
What is your character’s name? Nickname?
Birth name: Roh Suha English name: Susan Roh Nickname: Sue/Su
Does your character have any birthmarks? Scars? How did they get them?
No birthmarks. A few moles on body: back of right calf, left ankle, hip, ring finger. Only scars to note are a burn the size of a kidney bean on her knee, several mosquito bites on her legs, and scratch-marks on her left wrist from a minor fall she’d taken off the back of her second boyfriend’s bike.
Who are your character’s family? Are they close?
Father: Roh “Jimmy” Joohyuk, 74. Chairman and Co-founder of Oh+Roh Architects. Member of the Architectural Institue of Korea and the Korea Institute of Architects. Lecturer at University of Seoul. Warm persona despite tight-lipped face and towering disposition. Level-headed, with the comportment of a monk. Suha is very close to him and admires him most.
Mother: Heo Yeeun, 70. Recently retired anesthesiologist. Practical but emotions are in constant flux. Known to hold grudges. Spends most of her time these days hiking and photographing nature. Hopes to see one of her photos published in the National Geographic someday. Suha is fairly close to her, but they do butt heads from time to time.
Younger brother: Roh Suhyun, 32. Hair stylist. Unabashedly outspoken. Bright, feigns idiocy. In a long-term relationship with boyfriend from university—they had been fellow pre-law students (before Suhyun dropped out to pursue his current line of work). Scares Suha because his intuition is always fuckin’ spot-on. Suha is very close to him.
Describe your character’s closest friends/types of people they surround themselves by.
Suha keeps a large circle of friends around her at all times but the majority of her friendships are superficial/prolonged only by some lingering sense of obligation and because sometimes you need to get out of the house and see someone other than your whining kid or your husband’s dumb face. Regularly lunches with work friends (current coworkers, former employees who moved on to start their own practices, clients she clicked with) or classmates from SNU and Cornell. Suhyun is her best friend. Her neighbor, Heesun used to work alongside Sewon until she decided restaurant business was more her flavor please don’t mind the pun. Together they bitch about him with reckless abandon.
Where was your character born? Where have they lived? Where do they call home?
Born and raised in Seoul. Father was just starting to get a name for himself, mother had just started residency at the hospital. Home was a small apartment in a well-to-do neighborhood south of the Han. Six years later, family moved to a slightly larger unit just a few streets away, to accommodate for another little one. Family’s final move took place after Suha’s matriculation to SNU, to a single-story home in Yongsan-gu designed by Suha’s father.
Lived in NYC for a few years after graduating. Lived in Ithaca, New York, to finish a master’s program. Returned to Seoul and lived with family for another two years until engagement in 2010. Commissioned a fellow architect/former classmate to design a small house in Hannam-dong, where she stayed with husband until their separation in 2016. Currently living in a two-bedroom loft in Daechi-dong.
Where does your character go when they’re angry?
To the office. To the gym. Work and working out are the only two things that will take her mind off her boiling rage.
Does your character have any phobias?
Gets squeamish at the sight of blood.
Describe your character’s most meaningful past relationships.
Wouldn’t consider any of the relationships that came before her marriage meaningful—just necessary learning experiences.
Age 17: Her first boyfriend. Stupid attractive and otherwise completely vacuous and unable to hold a conversation. 3 months.
Age 20: A heartthrob (none of her friends agreed with her on that) from Busan. Stoic, short of words. A truly fear-inspiring face, with a protruding jaw, high cheekbones, and long monolids. Emotionally unavailable unless drunk, which was most of the time anyway so maybe in retrospect he was actually very emotionally present. Helped her mature. 2 years.
Age 23: A go-getter. Felt like she was constantly in competition with this guy. Unhealthy relationship, but did get her past her career slump/minor existentialism. 1 year.
Age 27: An Asian-American guy from Denver, Colorado. Enthusiastic, spontaneous, and fun-loving—but a total smart alec. 7 months.
What’s in your character’s refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? On their nightstand? In their bag/wallet? In their garbage can?
Fridge: Two tupperwares of banchan: kimchi and pan-fried potatoes with pepper. A carton of eggs. Leftover shrimp vindaloo from yesterday’s lunch. A drawer full of vegetables: cucumber, radish, spring onions, kale, broccoli, asparagus. A drawer full of fruits: strawberries, blueberries, apples, pears, grapes, melons. Whole milk plain yogurt. A carton of coconut water and two bottles of sparkling.
Bedroom floor: Hardwood floors and a pewter cowhide rug.
Nightstand: A lamp and a Byredo candle, Tree House scented.
Bag: iPhone, keys, wallet (+ daughter’s photo at eighteen months), two pens, a pack of mints, tissues, two hair ties, Sensai lipstick in #16, Garrett Leight sunglasses, ibuprofen, hand sanitizer, a fine-tooth comb, a few spare pads, her business card, a compact, hand lotion, band-aids, tweezers, and two flash drives.
Garbage: Banana peels and other miscellaneous food compost.
Look at your character’s feet. Describe what you see there. Does your character wear dress shoes, gym shoes, no shoes? Ratty socks, or slippers knit by grandma?
Manicured toes unpainted thank you very much under white socks under The Row white lace-up sneakers.
When your character thinks of their childhood kitchen, what smell do they associate with it?
Sesame oil comes to mind first and foremost—mom had always been liberal with it. Spice did not feature heavily in the diet as both her parents and brother had a low tolerance for it (much to the chagrin of Suha’s bolder palate), so chicken soup and other clear broth-based meals were customary.
Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for them to throw out? What’s difficult for them to part with?
No sweat: most everything printed on A4; tabloid magazines; Christmas cards; anything that’s been relegated to the Reject portion of her closet; discolored/damaged cook and bakeware; museum pamphlets; airplane tickets; electronics; gifted perfumes
Second thoughts: cookbooks that she’s been meaning to flip through; kid’s crafts projects; baby shoes; high school mixtapes; polaroid photographs; dad’s handwritten letters, sent during her studies abroad; vintage hand-me-downs from mom
It’s Saturday at noon. What is your character doing?
Finishing up a morning bikram yoga class; picking up Saeeun from Sewon’s for some wholesome mother-daughter grocery shopping; fixing a simple lunch or cutting up fruit while Saeeun’s occupied with the iPad.
Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where are they going? What do they wear? Who will they be with?
Likely checking out the opening for a new shop or show—alone, now. Black’s the easiest and the first thing she’ll reach for until she remembers that Maison Margiela dress she’d plucked off the off-season rack last Sunday.
What is your character’s greatest regret(s)?
Not speaking up for a girl who’d been ostracized from her third grade class for having cleft lip. Not being able to provide a full family for Saeeun. Letting her marriage break down—not having done more.
Is there anything your character was/is currently obsessed with?
Speed-walking on a 5% incline on the treadmill; using her milk frother for perfect vanilla lattes; (dancing to) old bossa nova records.
What is the trait your character likes most about themselves? Likes least?
The good: integrity. Probably her guiding principle. The work relationships she fosters, the foundations for a new plan, the flatware on her table, the food she puts into her body, the specs on her car, the hairstyle she decides on for Saeeun. Everything requires a heavy dose of intentionality and integrity.
The bad: impatience. Her tendency towards perfectionism manifests in other, less productive (re: destructive) ways. Has a hard time keeping that fuse unlit.
Does your character have any medical problems?
Suffered some hair loss back in university thanks to a crippling case of clinical depression (lost another good chunk from the anxiety wrought by the hair loss itself), but the time’s passed and her follicles are in tip-top shape along with the rest of her health.
What kind of car does your character drive?
2015 BMW 3 Series Sedan in black.
What fragrance(s) does your character use?
Imaginary Authors’ Saint Julep (2017) is the current casual go-to—sweet mint, tangerine, bourbon, and sugar cube. Her classic pick is MEMO’s Moon Fever (2007)—bitter orange, lemon, sage, vetiver, leather, and tonka bean.
Does your character own any pets?
No. But her brother and his partner own a massive chow chow named Diablo, who also happens to be the sole reason she never visits. It’s essentially wild. How they manage to keep it on a leash is beyond fathoming.
Describe your character’s educational and work background.
Education: Public school, then foreign language school. Always kept to herself. Selfishly smart, why don’t you share, kids used to say. Finally took a peek out of the shell over the course of her short-lived first relationship. Crawled out of it for good and let all hell loose after getting The Acceptance Letter, i.e. the crowning achievement of her childhood. Nearly flunked out of SNU her first year but cleaned up her act and just barely made it to Dean’s List. Her reputation at work/shining referrals thereafter landed her a place in the graduate architecture program at Cornell.
Static work history: Oh+Roh (Seoul), Partner, 2014– Oh+Roh (Seoul), Senior Manager, 2012–2014 Oh+Roh (Seoul), Senior Architect, 2009–2012 Oh+Roh (Seoul), Architect, 2008–2009 Richard Meier & Partners (NYC), Architect, 2004–2006 Richard Meier & Partners (NYC), Architectural Intern, 2003–2004 Oh+Roh Architects (Seoul), Architectural Intern, 2002–2003
What did your character grow up dreaming of becoming?
An ice cream store owner. Then a rocket scientist.
How good of a singer is your character? Dancer?
She can carry a melody, but there’s no technical finesse to her delivery. Never had time to humor afternoon noraebang trips. Solid dancing skills. Took ballet as a kid and picked up dance again after grad school as a fitness hobby.
What is your character’s political affiliation?
Left-leaning. Voted for her girl Sim Sangjung in the 2017 election.
Which countries has your character been to?
For school: USA For work: USA, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Denmark, Switzerland, France, Brazil, Mexico For leisure: USA, Japan, China, Hong Kong, France, Germany, UK, Italy, Spain
What cuisine is your character’s favorite? Dish? Dessert?
Cuisine: Mexican, Indian, Sichuan Dish: Galbi-jjim Dessert: Mango sticky rice
Does your character have a sweet tooth?
Unfortunately. Has to keep herself in check.
What genre of film does your character enjoy?
Animation. Must have been Saeeun’s doing. Before her, it’d probably been crime or action or thrillers but she also could just be making this all up.
What are some of your character’s pet peeves?
People who interrupt (hypocrite), bad table manners, slow walkers (especially the ones that refuse to walk in a straight line so it becomes impossible to pass), “irregardless” and “I could care less”, humble bragging.
What are some of your character’s bad habits?
“I told you so”, never admitting that she’s wrong or apologizing when it’s too late, pulling out her phone at any given moment.

JANUARY 2019 DIMENSIONS ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULES & REVIEW
Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of January 31 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.
Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.
These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.
Overall Company
This month is mostly about regrouping on the executive level and finalizing how to go forward in 2019 with some recent unexpected changes under the company. Money is still tight, but Dimensions has stacked the beginning of 2019 heavy with comebacks to reflect on the respective comebacks’ successes (or failures) and plan the rest of the year around who is most profitable. It’s no secret to the idols under the company that their next comeback, regardless of who they are, needs to go well.
Important dates:
January 10: Meeting for company artists and those who work directly with them (managers, PR, etc.) headed by creative director Choi Dongwook. Dimensions Entertainment’s mission statements and overall plans for 2019 will be delivered.
Various dates: In a tradition started last year, by the direction of creative director Choi Dongwook, all artists will meet with both in-house producers and Choi Dongwook himself to discuss the styles of music they’d like to pursue in 2018. No promises are made that their wishes will be met, but Choi Dongwook would like to keep open a clear line of communication.
Dimensions Soloist 1
2018 was an amazing year for her, and so the beginning of a new year mainly brings around the end of award show attendances and performances for her and a New Year’s fansign. The company views her very favorably now, so to reward her, they’ve granted her a semi-vacation, including permission to take a trip if she desires to, excluding her aforementioned schedules
Important dates:
January 3: Fansign in Yongsan, Seoul.
January 20: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook and in-house producers.
Dimensions Soloist 2
The winter season is the perfect time to listen to music under the night lights of Hongdae, so he’ll be sent out this month in the cold to busk with his own music and some covers. Some of the performances will be filmed and uploaded to Dimensions’ Youtube to keep his fans engaged and to hype up a hopeful first concert for him in 2019.
Important dates:
January 4: Busking in Hongdae.
January 5: Busking in Hongdae.
January 11: Busking in Hongdae.
January 15: Seoul Music Awards.
January 18: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook and in-house producers.
January 19: Busking in Hongdae.
January 23: Gaon Chart Awards.
January 26: Busking in Hongdae.
Gal.actic
The photojacket and teaser pictures for the album have been completed and the members will film the music video for their comeback at the beginning of the month. The title track will end up being deemed unfit for broadcast, and the song will need to be performed with altered lyrics, which Dimensions has anticipated and isn’t something new for Gal.actic. The group will hold a special showcase for fans a day earlier than the album release and press showcase to build hype, and will also shoot a photo spread for BNT International’s February issue.
Important dates:
January 5: Photoshoot for BNT International.
January 17: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook.
January 30: Pre-release showcase for fans.
January 31: Release of “Be Ambitious” & album showcase, promotions continue until March 1.
Alien
Their next comeback is planned for March, and after testing more proactive American promotions with Unity’s most recent comeback, Dimensions has decided to invest in giving Alien a push of American promo with their next comeback and connecting them with an American publicity team. This means the members are being pushed into English classes and/or additional media training this month alongside finishing recording songs for their album.
Important dates:
January 6: Golden Disc Awards (Physical).
January 7: ISAC filming.
January 15: Seoul Music Awards.
January 16: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook.
January 19: Music Bank in Hong Kong (with CHARM, WISH, and Gold Star Soloist 2)
MARS
This month’s comeback is a bit different from what MARS has done before in sound, but Dimensions has hired some of the trendiest choreographers and has taken on some new stylists for MARS’ team in hopes of switching things up just enough to keep fans’ interest. They’ll be preparing for a future fanmeeting throughout January, but they’ll also be doing the normal promotional rounds with music shows and radio shows. Three members of the group will also go on Hello Counselor this month, while the other three go on Radio Star, each as representatives of the full group.
Important dates:
January 1: Release of single “Cactus”, promotions continue until February 1.
January 2: 89.1 KBS Cool FM radio show recording.
January 8: Hello Counselor filming for maknae/main dancer/vocal, lead rapper/vocal, and main vocal 2.
January 14: Airing of Hello Counselor episode.
January 21: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook.
January 22: Radio Star filming for leader/main dancer/lead vocal, main vocal 1, and main rapper/lead dancer.
January 30: Airing of Radio Star episode.
7ROPHY
To capitalize on the astounding success of 7ROPHY’s latest mini-album, Dimensions has them filming and releasing a short weekly “daily life” reality show on Youtube so that their new fans can more easily grow attached to their personalities. The filming will be set in their dorm and around Seoul in ordinary places like coffee shops and grocery stores to promote the concept of the group being like a close friend (or a girlfriend) to the audience. This month, members are encouraged to film solo self-cams (with a manager present) visiting some of their favorite places in Seoul. A comeback single has also been approved for March, so there’s a lot of pressure on the members to deliver a similar success to their last release.
Important dates:
January 5: Golden Disc Awards (Digital).
January 7: ISAC filming.
January 22: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook.
January 23: Gaon Chart Awards.
Unity
"Simon Says” promotions begin in the middle of the month, but on top of that, the members are preparing for their first major concert tour, the first dates of which will occur in Seoul in March before they then embark on a round of concerts in Japan. The members will each be assigned a specific date within the first two weeks of the month to conduct an hour-long solo V Live to connect with fans and hype up the repackage. The topic of the V Live is up to the members as long as it’s appropriate and passes approval by managers. A full group V Live will occur on the morning of the album release as well, and all V Lives will be monitored by at least one manager in the room.
Important dates:
January 7: ISAC filming.
January 15: Release of “Simon Says” & Regulate repackaged album showcase, promotions continue through February 15.
January 15: Seoul Music Awards.
January 23: Fansign in Sangnam, Seoul.
January 24: Fansign in Mokdong, Seoul.
January 25: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook.
January 29: Hi Touch event in Gangnam, Seoul.
Lucid
To bid adieu to their initial dark concept “nightmare” trilogy, the members are will be embarking on the beginning of their first tour this month in Japan and Brazil, markets that have responded the most positively to the first half of Lucid’s concept. Lucid will be performing several of their own songs, plus a few covers. In addition, during the Europe leg of the tour, which will occur at the very beginning of February, each member will be given the opportunity to do a solo cover stage, as long as it has low production value (no extravagant concepts or stage decorations), which the members will be rehearsing for this month. The second half of their concept is expected to bring in more of a domestic audience, so Dimensions hopes this tour will help the group connect with international fans before focusing in on the Korean market this year. Most of the month, while Lucid is in Seoul, they’ll be finishing shooting the photojackets for their album and finally filming the music video for their title track that will be released next month.
Important dates:
January 5: “Fly High” tour concert at Bigcat in Osaka, Japan.
January 6: “Fly High” tour concert at Questhall in Tokyo, Japan.

January 12: “Fly High” fansign at Maison de France in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
January 13: “Fly High” fansign at Hotel Mercure Lider in Brasília, Brazil.
January 15: “Fly High” fansign at Teatro Ressurreição in São Paulo, Brazil.
January 16: “Fly High” showcase at Tropical Butanta in São Paulo, Brazil.
January 24: Creative meeting with Choi Dongwook.
