THE GENERAL STATE OF FRIDAY NIGHT FUNKIN MERCH.

(An important thread from twitter you may have missed)

We'd like to give an update about all of the merch that we, Needlejuice Records are responsible for fulfilling.

For those unaware, we have been in the process of moving our whole business operation to another location.This move started in May (around the time of the current wave of merch), so shipping stuff out has been rocky during this time. We fully moved out of the old place at the end of June, and we're currently still settling in to the new place and getting used to the new workflow. We've been doing our best to keep up with shipments during this time, but we're pretty behind. Not just on FNF orders, but with all orders. (You Tally Hall people have been waiting a while as well, we see you.) We'll get caught up though, don't worry.

NEW MERCH

1. FIGURINES: We've been shipping these out since they dropped. Most of you have yours by now. Orders from within the last few weeks are a bit behind, but we'll get caught up. If you ordered one with other items it likely hasn't shipped yet but will soon.

2. DARNELL/NENE SHIRTS: We got these in about a month ago and have started shipping them! There's around 250 orders to go that contain a shirt. Again, we're working through them. Most orders that contained only shirts by themselves have been shipped.

3. STICKER SHEETS: These were last items to actually come in. We've shipped out many of them, but still have a lot to go! Most shipments are being sent by USPS first class mail, in a regular envelope. They don't have tracking numbers and will come in as regular mail!

4. BEACH POSTERS: The vast majority of these are not shipped yet. Posters MUST be shipped separately from all other items. They come on their own, in a poster tube. Therefore, we have chosen to focus on the rest of the items first. Yes, a few have gone out, but t, as we've been working through orders, we've been finding it easier to focus on the figures, shirts and stickers, and to commit to shipping these posters last. So keep that in mind, we are going to do the posters last.

NOW THE PART ABOUT KICKSTARTER MERCH.

This can get kind of complicated, but we'll try to give a decent rundown about the Kickstarter fulfillment. First off, know that the ONLY pledges we have ANY ability to ship at all, are pledges that ONLY contained vinyl, CDs, or cassettes. This is important, cause this has left a lotta people very confused: If you pledged to the Kickstarter, and you got ANY OTHER REWARD item, such as a shirt, a pin, a poster, WE DO NOT YET HAVE YOUR BACKER INFO.

The Funkin Crew will get us that backer info once the Kickstarter shirts are being made. In the meantime, we have a little less than 2000 OST pledges left. We have decided to get through the new merch wave, and then go back to focusing on those Kickstarter pledges. So, we will go back to shipping those once the new wave of shirts, stickers and posters have gone out.

AS FOR THE OTHER KICKSTARTER MERCH...

The FNF crew are partnering with us to fulfill the Kickstarter shirts and posters. Once the last wave of 2000 OST pledges in our system are sent, the Kickstarter shirts and posters will become the focus. WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PINS. As far as we know, those are manufactured, but we aren't the ones shipping them out. We don't know much more than that.

Thank you for your support and patience as we work through everything. It's a lot for a couple of indie companies to take on! We're excited to keep getting all of this new merch out to you!

I'm sorry, this is incredibly stupid, but I can't help it. I have to get it out of my head.

Thoma gets his own TCG card. He is naturally flattered, the image of him is a good likeness, but he can't help but be very confused. He's just a housekeeper and totally not one of the best spys/influencers Yashiro has ever had. Why would anyone want to make a card of him? Sure he helped stop the Fatui coup awhile back, but he doesn't think that warrants his own card. Especially since no one outside of the locals know him.

Still, he accepts the card. Mainly because the envelope in which it came has no return address and the creators aren't exactly easy to get in touch with. Initially , he thinks it's a prank by Ayato and Ayaka. They both have their own cards. Maybe they thought it would be nice to honor their friend. It isn't until Itto shows Thoma a pack with his card in it that he accepts that his card is real.

The card goes the Genshin equivalent to viral. Suddenly the ENTIRE world wants to know more about the hot housekeeper from Inazuma. Fan Clubs are set up across Teyvat. Fan mail rolls into the estate on a daily basis. Thoma can't walk down the street anymore without getting harassed by a gaggle of people who want housekeeping tips and his autograph. He even has to move his housekeeping class off Yashiro property for fear of upsetting Ayato and Ayaka with the crowds.

Ayato finds that particularly disappointing seeing as he found watching Thoma deal with all the attention highly amusing. That amusement stops when the job offers start rolling in. All the local clans make a play for Thoma. They want a piece of the action, especially since Ayato is so unwilling to capitalize off it. Offers from abroad come, including one that would bring Thoma home to Mondstadt. The fact that Thoma hesitates is enough. The manufactures of TCG are persuaded to stop making Thoma's card. Within a week, all of Thoma's cards that are on the market are gone. In the months after, the remaining cards that can be found are discretely sourced and purchased by a private collector. By the end, Thoma's card becomes the rarest card in all of TCG. Only one person is known to have it and he prefers not to share the card or the housekeeper.

Singapore Cheap Shipping Ratings

Going to be starting a series of reviews for merch manufacturing 'n stuff from Singapore. Tag is #merch hell.

As always, I go into detail on my process in my newsletter, which comes with free bird facts, so check it out if you haven't.

Introducing: Singapore Couriers

Shipping is expensive, especially overseas to the other side of the world. If you're in Southeast Asia, trying to get a half decent shipping rate for your international buyers is...painful. So, without further ado, here are my reviews:

Singpost

Go-to government mailing service.

Recommended:

- Local: Yes

- International: No

Pros:

- You can use stamps on these, and if you have a grandparent who left behind their huge collection or some free handouts, you can subsidize shipping to be pretty cheap.

- Post offices are everywhere, so it's usually a 5 minute walk to drop off your stuff.

Cons:

- You still have to drop your parcels off since there's no door to door pick up

- International tracking disappears off the face of the earth the moment it hits the destination country, which is not ideal. I sent two acrylic charms to the US, and one to Canada....

One caused my friend to go through the effort of calling his post office and dealing with a lot of customer service hell. Another one went missing. That is a pretty bad failure rate. This awful tracking is also well-documented.

Conclusion: If you love your customers, please don't use Singpost as a tracked service. Put disclaimers if you really want discounted tracking.

Justship

Newer shipping startup with competitive prices.

Recommended:

Local: Haven't tried, but there are more well known services (like Ninjavan).

International: Yes! Absolutely! But for smaller parcels, only US/UK is supported at the moment.

Pros:

- Really damn good customer service. Quick responses, friendly, and most importantly, *transparent*.

- Lets you set up a spreadsheet for bulk shipping, and provides integrations with storefronts like Shopify (sadly not BigCartel)

- Tracking in the destination country instead of disappearing

- Door to door pickup

- Parcels don't seem to be tampered with much? At least from what I've seen.

Cons:

- At the moment, there is no tracking while the parcels are being delivered to the destination country. So the opposite of Singpost, but still preferable. (However, they have told me they will be looking into it.)

- For smaller parcels like acrylic charms, cheap shipping only works for the US/UK. For everything else, it automatically defaults to the pricing of a higher volumetric weight, which is way more pricey than Qxpress. (Same as previous bullet point, they have told me they will try to support other countries in the future.)

- Door to door pickup is only for 5 or more deliveries. Otherwise, they expect you to drop it off at their warehouse, which for me is pretty far away.

Conclusion: Easily the best service here. Unfortunately they're a bit limited since they're a smaller company, and bulk orders are better, but the consistent quality is good, especially if you want to provide a good service to your customers (who are already paying 11USD minimum).

Qxpress

Cheap mailing service with a lot of existing big boi infrastructure in place.

Recommended:

- Local: There's better, there's worse. Eh.

- International: Yes for smaller batches (<5) or non US/UK countries

Pros:

- Ships damn near everywhere

- Door to door pickup regardless of order size, parcels, etc. They have dropoff stations too.

Cons:

- Tampers with your packages.

Smaller envelopes are safe, but they also paste a shitton of shipping labels over your stuff, some which may have truncated addresses.

Others have reported that they might open and repack larger parcels. Not exactly the best thing for privacy, or stuff in the parcels remaining intact.

- Door to door pickup takes their sweet time. Again, there are also reports of them missing the pickup.

- Doesn't appear to have a convenient option for bulk shipping, but I may not have noticed it?

Conclusion: Comparable prices to the other two, more flexible, but comes with standard shittiness of a large company cutting costs. Only use this for smaller shipments if Justship won't cut it. Your packages won't get lost, but they sure will get fucked with.

Tl;dr Justship is the GOAT.

Birdie (one)

This is an original work I wrote back in 2022 before I got into Call of Duty. Birdie is a former corporate software developer now living in a megabuilding inspired by the ones we see in the video game Cyberpunk 2077. This world is in transition, not quite post-corporate but on its way there. This is a story about Birdie falling into bed with the couple who moves in next door, and learning to trust other people again after enduring enormous personal betrayal. - cw: implications of stalking.

Birdie woke late in the morning to sunlight peeking through the cracks of her blinds and the smell of coffee gently percolating over in the kitchenette. It was a cool morning, silvery, the kind one wanted to luxuriate in and pretend noon would never come. Except—

Ping…ping…ping…

The soft chiming of her front door’s proximity alert was out of place.

She blinked groggily, swimming her legs through the tangle of blanket and sheets that she’d made a nest of in the night, and inchwormed her way to the edge of the mattress. 

Half the pile slithered off the bed to puddle on the floor as her feet met the cool tile, which was spotless thanks to the vacuum-bot that had done its work during the night. She took a thin, reclaimed-fiber robe off its hook on the thin sliver of wall between the window and bed, and wrapped it around herself as she plodded, still half-asleep, in the direction of the chime. 

Ping…ping…ping…

Birdie usually didn’t bring up her internal heads-up display until after her coffee, but the chime couldn’t be turned off without it. Safer that way—no one could tamper with it if they were of a mind to without hardwiring directly into her neural software. She flicked her index fingers upward in synchrony, and the translucent home screen slid in across her vision.

It was a simple interface—UI elements in soft white with simple drop shadows to contrast them against the real world they overlaid. Birdie could access the intranet, check her mail, keep track of her finances, and monitor her daily task lists as work orders came in; things people used to do on tablets or laptops, before integrated hard- and software became standard in the corporate era.

Ping…ping…ping…

No one was at the door—Birdie had set separate chimes for packages versus people. So she angled the bell camera downwards, seeking the parcel she expected to see—and scowled the moment she saw what it was. 

Ping…ping…ping…

With an angry gesture she shut off the alert, with another opened the door, but no gesture in her software was going to make the big, sparkling crystal vase, stuffed to the gills with bright red roses, suddenly grow legs and run away.

A pink envelope was filed between two of the fattest blooms. Birdie bent at the waist, indignation traveling down her brain stem and hijacking her nerve endings, and plucked it from the bouquet. With one fingernail she broke the seal—real paper! Dyed paper! The audacity!—and as if disarming a bomb, she removed the folded stationery from within. 

The ivory white, virgin sheet had obviously been recently manufactured, not pressed and cut from reclaimed pulp like any reasonable person would use these days. And, to add insult to injury, there was only one—one!—line of handwriting in the very middle.

Eddie and Mail

Noticed how 3/7 of the merchandise is related to Eddie (Rainbow Letters Eddie Dear Playset, Eddie’s Big Lift Storybook Record, and Mail-in-Time Day Valentine’s Day Cards.) with only Eddie’s Big Lift having a confirmed manufacturer. How Eddie has a page dedicated to our responses. How Frank was holding a red envelope looking scared (?). How the website was made because someone sent them envelopes of destroyed merchandise. How he shows up on almost every page. I think Wally or Home is manipulating Eddie or using his post office to send the merchandise. In fact, Eddie might be one of the few puppts able to escape to the real world explaining his running gag of never getting his home right. Also, Eddie has memory problems surrounding names and talks to inanimate objects to help with this issue, similarly to how Wally zones out during the audios and staring at random objects possibly to help keep him grounded. Either way, Eddie definitely has a connection to the outside world that is barely stronger than Wally’s with Eddie being able to leave.

That's simple, with or without fingerprints. Once the trick of the poison being contained in the envelope is discovered - and it will be, I can promise you that - you trace the letter back to its origin-point. Even if the return postage label is missing or wrong, you can at least backtrack its travels between post-offices 'til you get:

Direction of travel.

Earliest-known post office.

So long as you have those two things you can usually gather if it's from a foreign country, based on:

Proximity to an air-mail plane landing strip.

The language the letter was written in.

The manufacturer of the present if it's not home-made.

Once you got the country and direction it traveled in, you'd want to figure out what mailbox it was posted in. Get a rough possible area based on the pick-up point and begin lookin' for people in that area who knew the victim.

Now, this is where things get tricky. In the case of it being an indiscriminate murder, it'd be hard to find the real culprit in this case. But given you've taken time to send a letter and chocolate, you probably do know 'em. So, just interrogate the suspects one-by-one until there's one who lines up with the facts, and presto.

In summary:

Search local for which post office delivered and walk back.

Figure out if it's from overseas or not based on its earliest location.

Find people in a certain radius of its earliest-known origin that may know the victim.

Interrogate your new suspects until the facts line up.

That's a horrific simplification, but it's better than nothin'. You get it, yeah? Even just a little evidence left behind will bite you in the ass.

I am selling new 8x10 paperback glue bound copies of Litardi's incomplete comic book series I Mercenari.

The stories were originally written in Italian, which I have translated into English. The new text keeps the feel and look of the original writing.

The vintage books are very rare and fragile. Each page was scanned, cleaned, translated and re-lettered.

The original comics were made to hype I Mercenari toys, manufactured in Hong Kong by Ka Lok Industrial circa 1984.

The toys were sold exclusively in Italy for a very short period of time. The comics are extremely hard to find due to paper choice and limited toy production.

Each new book contains 40 printed pages. 24 pages are full color, and 16 are black and white spreads. The pages are mostly story related, with two pages featuring cover art, four hero character art spreads and two toy ads/images.

Books will ship via media mail bagged within a rigid craft board shipping envelope (within the USA only). If you encounter any shipping damage, please let me know. I have printed a very limited quantity of these books (30), and have a very limited quantity remaining. These items are being sold at cost.
