I am starting the "Every Aspiration" challenge in the sims 4!

I'm not much of a 'challenge' player in the sims 4, really - I usually prefer to create and play through storylines. However, I'm in desperate need of save file I can just launch and play without caring about prepping anything. So... what I'm doing here is actually not that much of a challenge as it is a way for me to play the actual game.

The whole "challenge" is: playing and completing every aspiration in the sims 4.

Since I have a base save file with tons of townies I created over the years but that I never actually played with, I decided I will be giving my "extra" sims a chance and play the aspirations with them! But maybe I'll throw some pre-mades into the mix too, who knows.

I was actually very inspired by MahriRae's every lifetime wish series on youtube, so if you're into sims 3 content, definetly check them out!

And so begins the Extraordinary Aspirations Challenge! I look foward to sharing my gameplay soon <3

Perfect Mind, Perfect Body

Master the Athletic skill, master the Logic skill.

Meet Solange Spoor, my very first sim in the completing all lifetime wishes challenge. I saw MahriRae on YouTube start this challenge, and wanted to do it myself, so here I am! In this MahriRae's playthrough, though, they randomize their sim's traits. I do not. I have decided to choose the best traits for the lifetime wish. So, Solange has the traits Athletic, Genius, Perfectionist, Loves the Outdoors and Heavy Sleeper.

Solange moved into Aurora Skies, a world I have never before played in and am very excited to explore. The very first thing she did was head to the (very sadly looking) gym. There was only one treadmill, so luckily she was the first one to arrive.

Back home, Solange took a shower and grabbed a logic book and started reading. She went to sleep peacefully on her very first night in her new home, and (of course) got robbed.

Buddy here literally stole her shower.

To calm herself after that stressful night, she got into the hot air balloon, because I've never done that before and didn't know you could actually do that.

This further into town, Solange also found a bigger (and better) gym, that actually had multiple pieces of equipment.

Having done nothing but focus on working out for a few days, Solange decided to go into town to make some friends and met Fjord Warbler, a fairy who's a musician.

Later that night, Solange decided to see who her neighbors were. Barely anyone was home, so she ended up at the Olsson household, where she found Emil Olsson; a ghost. Now, in my lepacy playthrough, one of the tasks is to have a ghost baby. I find it very hard to find a ghost in Sunset Valley, also because my sim does not have the time to spend entire nights in the graveyard, waiting for one to show up. So, when an opportunity presents itself... I just might take it.

The next morning, Solange started her first day at her new job in the army. After working out so much, she realized rent needed to be paid.

After work, Solange went back to Emil's home and made a move on him!

With a bit more money now, Solange bought a chess table. In between her practicing chess, she went jogging to explore the town.

Eventually, Solange got good enough at chess that she could challenge one of Aurora Skies' ranked chess players. She invited Gundrun Beaker over, and won the match.

On a little day off of working on her logic and athletic skills, Solange went to see a magic show at Mick Master's Karaoke. It sucked.

That night, after getting a message that Mr. Ghosty didn't have much longer to live (or un-live?), Solange came over and she and Emil Olsson did a little woohoo-ing, resulting in Solange getting pregnant.

Unable to work out on equipment, Solange went for a little swim by the beach to work on her athletic skill.

Soon enough, Solange had her child. Unfortunately, by that point, Emil had died. Again. Solange's child, a baby boy by the name of Hendrickus Spoor (my boyfriend named him okay), was NOT a ghost baby. Which made me very angry. What did I do wrong???

Not giving a f*ck about this child anymore now that it wasn't a ghost baby, Solange decided to go out and find a unicorn. Just because she could. The unicorn didn't feel like talking to her for very long, though.

Putting all her efforts back into her skills, Solange got back on the treadmill and mastered the athletic skill in the same place where she'd first started this journey: the shitty gym in her neighborhood with only one treadmill.

Back at home, Hendrickus was being neglected. A lot. Sorry. Shortly after he grew up into a toddler, a social worker came to take him away, finally giving Solange more free time to work on her skills. Also, Hendrickus was ugly. Sorry not sorry.

Having mastered the athletic skill, Solange put all her time into chess. She invited another ranked chess opponent over, but lost this time! WHAT?!

Feeling a bit stir crazy after all the sitting at home, Solange decided to go out and visit her friend Fjord at home. Fjord turned out to be rich, and lived in a beautiful home in the middle of the town centre. It had an... interesting interior.

Back home, Solange got back to her chess playing and invited Simon Adamsson over once again to try and defeat him in a chess match. And this time, she did.

Fjord invited Solange to a party, and she decided to go. She met some new people, and developed a little crush on the guitar player.

The next day, Solange put everything into her logic skill. She had almost mastered it, and decided to skip Fjord's next party to get to the end. Just before midnight, on the eve of her birthday, Solange mastered the logic skill.

She promptly aged up into a wonderful adult shortly after midnight.

And with that, we conclude the first lifetime wish in this challenge. I completed it in exactly 24 sim days. I certainly hope I'll get to see Solange show up in a playthrough again sometime.

Sims 3 Speed Build | Inertia Manor (Minimal CC Shell)

Inertia Manor is a large house shell that I built in Bridgeport. This house was made with my mad scientist sim in mind and it comes with all the space you need to make your own secret lab in the basement. Introductions

Hey everyone! This is my first ever post so be nice plz >.<

I thought i’d list a couple of things about myself and my sims games so you’ll get a nice idea for what this page is about. So let’s get strarted!

Hi, my name is Diego and im from Portugal (betcha didn’t see that coming) and i work in HR at [REDACTED] company.

My sims lives have taken a turn for the dramatic meaning I just HAD to share them with people for internet points. (I mostly play with supernaturals so if you’re into the “white picket fence” fantasy, don’t @ me)

PLUS! I do some building on occasion for Mahrirae’s For The Realm challenge for even MORE internet points. I’ll be posting photos and little WIP’s of future builds and households soon so stay tuned!

Reflections on Netflix Death Note Movie...spoilers

So I watched the Netflix Death Note movie the other day and I went into it with an open mind. I looked at it from two POVs. One that had never heard of Death Note and one that is a huge fan and would most likely rip it to shreds (let's be honest most anime/manga movie adaptations suck).

The me that watched this and is a huge fan, without much shock, hated it. Light's character felt all wrong and the suspenseful cat and mouse games that made the anime so good weren't there. I was not a fan of the casting, which is a whole other issue, but even that is not an excuse for a lacking execution of very prominent parts of the context material. I also understand that it was supposed to be an adaptation and not the original anime/manga retold, but it is hard not to compare when you are trying to use the original character's personas and just changing there entire personality.

I think the me that hated this movie would have liked it more if they decided not to rehash the originals, but continued the story with different characters in America. It would not be hard to believe that after Light and L's death another Shinigami or Ryuk chose to drop another book in a different location (America) where it is found by a Kira supporter who decides to continue his legacy. Maybe that is just me, but I would have found this much more acceptable than using the original characters and then undoing all that made us love them in the first place. Ryuk was actually the best character and I really wish they would have given him more scenes.

End Butthurt fan rant...for now...

Now the me that watched this and knew nothing about Death Note thought it was..."meh". It was a good time waster if you needed something to fill in an hour or so, but it was hard to be invested. The concept, of course, is amazing, but the execution was lacking. Everything seemed to happen too fast. You looked away for a second and he had the death note, the next second he is showing it to a chick he just met (I mean he barley spoke a word to her and the conversation started with an introduction, so it was like "Hi my name is Light, and since you're hot let me tell you about my magic book that can kill people?"), then a few scenes later they are literally getting off on killing people, then he is Kira and people worship him.

None of this spiral into a homicidal God complex is explained in detail, only a montage accompanied by off-putting music. The whole thing felt like a generic teen movie complete with whiny teenage lead that is bullied and mad at the world, has a crush on the cheerleader and a relationship with his father that can only be described as "complicated" because his mom is dead and he wished his dad would have done more about it. It took an interesting concept and dumbed it down because this is about a teenager and apparently there is only one formula for teenager. It ultimately ended up as one of those movies you watched once and would probably not watch again. You've seen it once and that's enough.

As a movie it was okay, good for a one time watch to get rid of your complete boredom for an hour, but it still lacks too much to be a "good" movie, just your average teenage movie gone horror that is tolerable to watch, but not a favorite or must see.

Ranting continues...

As an anime/manga adaptation it fails pretty bad, loosing all the good points that made Death Note a favorite of mine. Light reverted from the intelligent high schooler able to match wits with a world renowned detective, to some whiny kid trying to impress a girl by killing all the "bad people" and getting lucky enough to not get caught.

Not to mentioned they got rid of his happy family life. One of the things that made Light interesting was that his motive was purely his deranged sense of justice. There was no "my mom is dead and the guy walked away now I am going to get rid of criminals by feeding from my dark past." Light's life was fine, he didn't have a dark past. He had a loving family and a stable life. He used this to his advantage. He actually made it a point to not come across as a "problem child", he wanted to fit a perfect mold because it made it more believable that he was innocent.

The movie felt like it was tying to make Light some kind of misunderstood teenage kid who was not all that sadistic but mostly misguided. By the end it almost felt like they were trying to make you feel sympathy for him, because it was his girlfriend who was "really" bad. I mean he wanted to kill, but ONLY the criminals. In fact she felt more like Kira than Light. Instead of him manipulating an obsessed girl with words of love to get what he wants, she manipulated him, so why not just make her the lead.

Light from the anime/manga was interesting because he was unmoving in his mission. He would take out whoever he needed to make sure his vision became a reality, but in this movie he is ready to back down as soon as it looks like he is going to get caught.

L's character while keeping true to being weird, was way too rash and lost his composer to easily. He seemed to breakdown every time something happened and the emotionless deduction freak was lost by the end of the movie where he goes against everything he believed in and hunts down Light in a police car pointing a gun at him.

...and how the crap did Light kill Watari? Wasn't that an alias?

Not to mention they removed rules of the Death Note like seeing the Shinigami when you touch the book (This would have given Ryuk more scenes and I would have enjoyed that). The Death Note itself was too over powered to me. He was able to write an entire final destination style ending that seemed much to specific for it all to align at the perfect time. If I am not mistaken (and I could be wrong) what you write in the book has to be possible and reasonable for the person to do. Which made it interesting to see how Light could manipulate them to still come out in his favor.

So how was he( Light in the movie) able to spell out everything that happened?

Like did he put an "if" clause in there somewhere? "IF she takes the book, then the insanely specific chain of events will follow just as I have written them". If she didn't take the book, by the rules shouldn't she still have died? Her name was still written down, so heart attack? And how would he know exactly what time this would happen...don't you have to give a specific time for all these events to take place?

Whatever I suppose it doesn't really matter, but if you can just write crazy specific stuff like this, it sucks the fun out of watching because Light no longer has to be clever, he just had to know how to spell.

I really like the idea of using anime/manga for more inspiration in main stream American media, but it would be nice if it wasn't completely "Americanized" into the same stuff we have seen a thousand times, just with a shiny new wrapper of being based on anime.

End rant for real now...

But none of this is in anyway how everyone should feel. I just thought I would write a reflection since I am sitting in a store with only my thoughts.

I think I want to build a world...

So for a long while I have been in a funk with my Sims game...hence why no more videos. I want to play, but there are no worlds that I like, so I need to edit one but that makes me have to build, and I am either lacking inspiration or the world doesn't "fit". I have loaded up CAW like a thousand times but I quickly realize that I suck at it and end up starting over. Do any world builders have any tips for a struggling world creator?
