Top 10 Engineering colleges in NCR with Fees and Placements

Several educational institutes set up in Delhi-NCR have made it a study hub for thousands of students from around the country. Since engineering has become a widely popular career choice these days, numerous B.Tech/M. Tech colleges have been established here over the years. Here is a list of top engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR.

1.    IIT Delhi

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is counted amongst the best engineering colleges in Delhi as well as India. The institute charges a fee of Rs. 1.07 lakh (general category and first semester) for various B.Tech and dual degree programmes. Also, the fee of M. Tech programmes is Rs. 20,500 (for general category). Over 80% of the students secure placements in reputable firms every year. More than 805 students got placed in 2018.

2.    Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSIT)

Affiliated to Delhi University, NSIT is one of the top engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR. Many recruiters visit the college every year. More than 640 students got placed in campus recruitment 2015-16. The college’s official website has no information about the fee structure. To find out about the fees charged by the college for its engineering programmes, you will have to contact the college directly.  

3.    Delhi Technological University (DTU)

It is an autonomous engineering institute located in Rohini, Delhi? The total fee of various B. Tech and M. Tech programmes for the first year is Rs. 1.51 lakh. The average package received by students is Rs. 6.5 lakh annually whereas the highest package ever received was of Rs. 52.22 lakh annually. In 2017-18, over 75 students secured packages of more than Rs. 20 lakh annually.

4.    Jamia Millia Islamia

It is listed amongst the reputable engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR. The annual fee of B.Tech programmes is Rs. 10,850. For most of the M.Tech programmes, the fee is Rs. 13,050 per annum. The placement cell invites many recruiters for placement. The average package received by students is 3.8 lakh annually.

5.    Amity University, Noida

Amity Noida is ranked amongst the top engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR. The first year semester fee varies between Rs. 0.84 lakh to Rs. 1.93 lakh for various B. Tech programmes. The average first-year semester fee for various M.Tech programmes is Rs. 0.70 lakh. The college has a good placement record with over 6,000 students placed in 2013.

6.    Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology

The institute offers four B.Tech programmes. The placement record of the college is above average. 496 students secured campus placements in the academic year 2018-19. 7.    NIT Delhi

It is one of the well-established government engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR. The total fee charged for the first semester is Rs. 44,133 (general) for B. Tech programmes and Rs. 56,200 (general) for M. Tech programmes. The college's placement cell provides various employment opportunities. 84.75% of the registered students were placed in 2015-16.

8.    IIIT Delhi

The total fee charged by Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Delhi for the first year is Rs. 2.7 lakh for B.Tech programmes and Rs. 1.95 lakh for M.Tech programmes. Being amongst the top engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR, the institute's placement record is excellent. An average of 95% of the students got placed in 2018.

9.    Galgotias Educational Institutions (GEI)

The college charges Rs. 1.33 lakh for the first year of B.Tech and M.Tech programmes. 82.59% of the engineering students got placed in 2017 with an average package of Rs. 3.35 lakh per annum.

10. Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology

The institute offers five B. Tech programmes that charge a total fee of Rs. 1.15 lakh for the first year. It is one amongst the best engineering colleges in Delhi-NCR. In the academic session 2017-18, the college placed 679 students with annual packages varying from Rs. 2.75 lakh to Rs. 12.00 lakh.

Admission to any of the three BITS campuses and engineering

Are you aspiring to be a great engineer? Are you nervous to appear for the BITSAT 2017? A whirlwind of entrance exams feature after students have appeared for their board exams. Highly competitive and one of the most coveted entrance exams in this flurry of exams is the BITSAT 2017.

BITSAT comprises of an objective type test format. It is an online test of 3 hours with no specific time frame for any of the parts. The student can easily switch between the sections and change answers. It is based on the multiple choice structure wherein every question has only one correct answer. There are 150 questions and negative marking for wrong answers. The score of this test is immediately displayed after submission of the paper. The syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology which is based on the NCERT books of 11th and 12th grade. There will also be English proficiency and Logical reasoning which will be based on the general overview. In case a student finishes all the 150 questions, there will be an additional 12 questions for the student to score high. Admission to any of the three BITS campuses and engineering colleges accepting BITSAT scores is based on scores achieved in this entrance test. It also requires submission of an application to the respective colleges both online and a printed copy to the college address before a prescribed date. The application usually contains results of the recent board exams and the various preferences to various programmes in different colleges.

Once the lists of admitted students and wait-lists are released then payment of the admission fee and first semester is necessary to be kept on the waitlist, or else the candidate is ineligible for admission when further lists come out. This process usually happens in the month of July.
