When he makes it to the collar of James’ shirt, a shaky hand comes up to help him gain access, tugging it aside, but Regulus doesn’t bother. Instead, Regulus releases his grip on James’ hair and hurriedly begins to ruck up his shirt. James helps somewhat, lifting his arms up and allowing Regulus to pull the material entirely off.  Regulus gives himself a moment to admire a shirtless James’ Potter; smooth brown skin, tattooed chest and arms, a trail of dark hair from his navel down below the waistband of his boxers (which is just barely peeking out above his jeans), swollen lips and glasses askew. He has broad shoulders and a narrow waist, the kind of body that looks strong but also soft, like he doesn’t really workout.  He’s a fucking vision. “Don’t just stare.” James pleads, but it’s really more of a whine, and god, yes. This is what Regulus wants; he feels drunk on the power he has over James alone. “Oh come on, we both know you’re not shy.” Regulus scoffs and rolls his eyes, but he steps back into James’ space anyways. Their faces only inches apart, Regulus slowly reaches up and takes James’ glasses off, carefully setting them aside.  If they had a bed, or even a couch, Regulus would push James back and draw this out. Unfortunately, they do not, and Regulus is too afraid that if they set off to go find something more comfortable, one or both of them will realize this is a mistake and stop it. He doesn’t want to stop though, doesn’t want to think of the repercussions or how bad of an idea this is. Regulus thinks too much, right now he just wants to do.

recently I've had a lot of conversations about sig in domestic life, he would be a stay-at-home father because once he's been freed from his duties post-campaign, he just has so many domestic things he's never gotten to do in his youth. when he gets married, he would volunteer to stay at home to cook and to take care of things around the house, besides, he would very much appreciate the extra time this gives him to explore new hobbies.

he would be very into knife carvings. he always had the ability to make wood carvings like that, but in the future would endlessly make little wood paperweights when he had the time for his wife (yes... he will get married....... if things line up right in the campaign... there's peace and love waiting for him)

Arcana Cast Occupations

I think I've finally got everyone's jobs locked down! (As far as the Grieves household goes) Brief list:

Essie - runs a podcast/webseries on folklore and cryptids with some college friends. Little bit of (noninvasive) supernatural hunting where they investigate sightings and gather evidence mixed with evaluating viewer-sent media claiming to have creepy stuff on video. Debunks the ones that show Uncanny a little too well. Their group has a name HOWEVER I need to find it in my notes it's there somewhere I promise.

Beau - Baker! Runs her own little place below her and Joel's apartment. Plus the Warden gig (which takes up 80% of her time should've thought about those repercussions before she tore Alfie's head off!)

Joel - Helps run the bakery and does the books. Worked for Claudine for a little bit when he came to the city but it didn't last long. Takes art commissions here and there, too, but gets clients through word-of-mouth. Very much the mindset of "don't monetize your hobbies".

Mags - College professor! She teaches courses on folklore and mythology (Essie took two of her classes. Cue her surprise when she finds out Beau is a family member.) She takes respect for cultures/traditions very seriously. There are things you do not name and there are words you do not say in her class. She will fail you. Don't try her. Her PhD is invaluable when the gang needs info on unfamiliar beings/creatures.

Kat: GP physician! Also comes in handy she's old enough to have filled a lot of medical positions so she knows her stuff (plus a vet twice. She takes a break from people every few centuries and jumps right back in when pet owners get to be too much) Her family likes to take advantage of this and she'd really prefer if they didn't. Stop starting shit and let the woman chill for five minutes!

“You’re the first person to be anywhere near my daughter for the last two months that she doesn’t scream at—and that includes me.” 

Your brow furrowed, and you turned your head a touch toward the baby. Her wide brown eyes were bloodshot, and still watery between blinks; her fine dark curls are a touch mussed; her clothing is dotted with stains—you assume from whatever meal or snack she’s had most recently. 

“But she’s so…I mean, she seems settled.” 

“And I have you to thank for that. Call me selfish, but I’d like for her to be more on the calm side. So, how soon can you move in?” 

“...I have to think about this, Mr. Hosseini.” 

“I’ll double your old pay rate.” 

“I don’t know—” 

“Triple it, then, c’mon. You’re killing me here and hardball will only get you so far.” 

“I am not playing hardball!” 

The man tipped his chin down a touch, brows drawing together in disbelief. 

“I just—” You shift the baby again, gently raising a hand and displacing her pudgy fingers from where she’s tugging your earring. “This is all happening really, really fast, and it’s unexpected. You don’t wanna do a trial first or something? A supervised playdate?” 

“I don’t know what kinda hoity-toity bullshit you’re used to—” 

You fight to urge to balk, and reach up to cover the baby’s ears as he goes on: 

“But I don’t feel the need to stand on ceremony. Besides, I know the agency had you finger-printed and did a background check.”

I finished this little project about a year ago (by little I mean this thing was a MONSTER took me months to get around to finishing) and honestly every opportunity I get to share it I will goddamit. Unfortunately I can find the TikTok that put the idea in my head but it was just going to be a short snippet of the song until my brain exploded and the rest was born. For my first attempt at a project like this, I'm pretty happy with it.

“Regulus?” Sirius says his name pointedly, a tinge of annoyance coming through that makes Regulus want to roll his eyes. He snaps his gaze towards his brother, grey eyes meeting grey eyes, and raises his eyebrows in response. Sirius sighs. “I asked if you think we should enter from the east entrance and have the altar over there, or flip it and come in from the other way.” “The first one.” Regulus replies flippantly, probably completely evident that he does not care either way, but Sirius still seems appeased. Regulus is just about to find a way to steal himself away, perhaps peruse the many floors of books, when he catches James' eye again. Whatever strength he had earlier has clearly dissipated, because Regulus can’t find it in himself to look away. He gulps, locked in this staring match he did not ask for, and allows himself just a few moments to look over James’ properly. Dark hair that curls this way and that, which looks as if it has never met a comb, but still somehow makes him look cute. Thick-framed glasses that accentuate his big brown doe eyes and tame his long lashes. Broad shoulders that taper down into a narrowed waist, a waist that Regulus knows first hand fits perfectly between his circled legs and—Nope.
