Inside Out characters talk about their favorite genres.
Anger: Action movies
Joy: I like action movies! Action comedies like Free Guy or Superhero movies like Superman!
Anger: No like John Wick
Joy: That’s very bloody.
Disgust: Yea, I agree with Joy. My favorite are romantic comedies with occasional cringe comedy. I like Mean Girls.
Joy: I like romantic comedies.
Envy: Oh my gosh! I love Mean Girls! What about Gossip Girl?!
Disgust: Oh my gosh yes!
Anxiety: My favorite are mysteries, thrillers, dystopias.
Fear: Mine is similar, psychological thrillers, mysteries, dystopias, conspiracy thrillers.
Anxiety: Conspiracy thrillers are good.
Anxiety: I like the ones where the main character is running from the secret police.
Anger: Because they burned the villain’s house down?
Anxiety: No, because they were wrongly accused.
Anger: They should be beating them up.
Joy: Any other genres Anxiety?
Anxiety: Science fiction with aliens and A.I.
Joy: And humans become friends with A.I and aliens.
Anxiety: No, the A.I and aliens want to kill all of humanity.
Joy: I’m sure aliens and A.I could be our friends. They’re pretty cool.
Anxiety: No, they will destroy all of humanity.
Anger: Well, we’ll all be dead before aliens or A.I takes over!
Joy: Anger. No.
Anger: I like science fiction! Especially cyberpunk! And I also like apocalyptic movies
Anxiety: Where is everyone just trying to survive a nuclear disaster?
Anger: Like Mad Max Fury!
Joy: Nuclear disaster? That’s nonsense. What about you sadness?
Sadness: Dramas like Titanic, Boy in the Blue Pajamas, Romeo and Juliet, where everyone dies.
Disgust: I like Titanic. Young Leonardo Dicaprio was cute.
Envy: I like school dramas.
Ennui: I don’t know.
Embarrassment: Heartfelt dramas, like The Good Will Hunting.
Joy: Now that’s my type of movie!
Anxiety: Anyone like dystopias?
Sadness: Everyone dies.
Envy: Hunger Games!
Anxiety: Yes.
Disgust: Peeta or Gale!
Envy: Everlark!
Joy: I only like the Starving Games.
Envy: Where they turned the iconic Hunger Games movie into that?
Joy: I like something playful y’know. A movie must have jokes.
Anger: If they blow up the tyrants. Anyone like crime and gangster movies?
Anxiety: If it’s a psychological thriller.
Anger: If it’s a psycha-what?
Anxiety: Like The Talented Mr. Ripley. Fight Club was also interesting.

Watching Fox News these days is like being at open-mic night at a marginal comedy club.
Rightwing pundits, like a lineup of amateur comics, are trying out their new material and hoping it kills. So far, not so much.
Take Jesse Watters (please). The primetime successor to Tucker Carlson was grasping at straws – yes, literal straws – the other day as he looked for a way to put down Tim Walz. How best to mock the popular Minnesota governor who is Kamala Harris’s running mate?
“Women love masculinity and women do not like Tim Walz, so that should just tell you about how masculine Tim Walz is,” Watters said on the roundtable talk show he co-hosts, The Five.
With that setup, he tried to prove his point.
“The other day you saw him with a vanilla ice-cream shake. Had a straw in it. Again, that tells you everything.”
The joke, or whatever it was, didn’t really land. Most people know that Walz is the opposite of a wimp. He’s a famously regular guy – America’s dad – who will use his newfound power to demand that all Americans own jumper cables and know how to use them.
The straw-grasping is getting a little desperate these days as Harris and Walz spread their forward-looking message, and as their rivals – the felon and adjudicated sex offender Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance – prove themselves less appealing by the day.
“Fox is really feeling the loss of Tucker Carlson right now,” theorized Matt Gertz, a senior fellow at Media Matters, the progressive media-watchdog non-profit, who watches a lot of rightwing cable news as part of his job.
“He was very effective at lifting something from the rightwing fever swamp and making it into a coherent message” that could spread through the conservative ecosystem.
Failing Tucker’s contributions to the commonweal, Fox and its pundits are floundering. They keep trying new approaches to replace their well-honed attacks on Biden – his family’s supposed corruption (“Biden crime family”) and his age (“senile”).
Over the past week, Fox tried to gin up controversy over Harris’s “code-switching” – the use of a different accent or speaking style when speaking to Black audiences. Fox’s White House correspondent Peter Doocy pressed the question at an official press briefing.
“Since when does the vice-president have what sounds like a southern accent?” Doocy demanded. The press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, dismissed him and moved on after posing a query of her own: “Do you think Americans seriously think this is an important question?”
Maria Bartiromo focused on this “southern accent” scandal on her Fox Business show, using a clip of Harris speaking to an audience in Detroit about how unions have helped win benefits for all Americans, like paid sick leave and a five-day work week, by repeating the phrase: “You’d better thank a union member.”
The pro-Trump cable network didn’t help its own cause with that one. “The funny thing about Fox News being mad at Harris for code-switching,” one observer noted on X, “is they had to play the clip of her talking about how great unions are over and over again.” You can’t buy that kind of media exposure.
The well-circulated photograph of Tim Walz’s family members wearing pro-Trump T-shirts fizzled, too, though it got a good ride on Fox for a day or two. Soon enough, it became clear that these were mostly distant cousins, a Nebraska branch of the family. Walz’s sister told the Associated Press she didn’t even recognize them. Walz does have an older brother who favors Trump, but most Americans are familiar with family disputes over politics.
Gertz told me that Fox pundits were sent reeling by Harris’s ascension and are “very shook by the ‘weird’ narrative” that Tim Walz has popularized. That’s the idea that Trump, Vance and their ilk are deeply strange people – way out of the mainstream with their nasty putdowns of “childless cat ladies” and their outlandish conspiracy theories. It applies all too well to the Fox personalities as well as the politicians they promote.
There’s time, of course, for Fox to come up with an effective message. Until something hits, we’re going to see a lot of painful tryouts.
The alternative, of course, is obvious: just don’t turn it on.

The Tumblr Jerk Tournament Bracket...
...has dropped. I put all my love towards these assholes into it.
Seeded according to uhhhhh "my brain thinks these sources allign in same genre or medium, and if not, then it's because I think the characters have similar themes in some way in my brain". Contestants all chosen by YOU (+ Palpalymo, for diversity /j).
Polls: TBA. Once I finish making them all and draft them, I'll make an announcement.
There's no right or wrong criteria for who to vote here because trying to establish that via Tumblrpoll is useless. You can vote for someone because they're your favorite, because their propaganda swayed you, because they look cool, or because they're the meanest. Just think: Do You Want Them To Emerge Victorious? Or are they such an ass you'd delight in seeing them get swept?
I highly encourage taking the time to read some propaganda. These guys have lots of love behind them.
And last but not least, be nice to other people on the internet. These polls may be for asshole characters, but that gives you no right to be an asshole back. Anything attacking the fans or fandom of a character will get taken out via my sniper team.
Thanks for your patience and let the whooping begin.

I’ve been struggling a while with labelling myself and defining who I am and I think it’s because I’m trying so hard to fit into one group.
I’m gyaru but at the same time I’m cottage core but I’m also a trashy mall goth but I’m also vampire goth but I’m also bohemian and hippie but I’m also a therian but I’m also a dungeon master but I’m also an ao3 writer but I’m also an anime lover but I’m also cute core but I’m also cute gore but I’m also goblin core but I’m also dark academia.
I’m a Hannibal fan but I also love Sanrio but I’m also a wannabe tattoo artist but I’m also a wannabe taxidermist and I collect bones and feathers and I’m also a pagan but I’m also an oldschool hip hop and rap fan but I’m also an indie fan but I’m also a hyper pop fan but I’m also a heavy metal fan but I’m also a classical music fan.
I love big musicals like Hamilton and be more chill and I love mean girls and broadway in general. But I also love small musicals like Seeds and Hannibal the musical and Adamandi.
I love Hello Charlotte and Ib and Mad father and Misao and Yandere simulator and Pom Gets WiFi and the witch’s house and Yume Nikki and Ao Oni and pizza tower and Faith the unholy trinity and papers please and Please, don’t touch anything and this is not a game and at dead of night and resident evil and we happy few and Doki Doki literature club and slay the princess and west of loathing and little nightmares and riddle school and fire watch.
I love cooking and I love animals and I love sunsets and my friends and my boyfriend. I love having a cluttered room but I’m always moving it around and changing things. I love photography and I love holding onto memories. I love Fnaf and I love Undertale. I love anime like my neighbour totoro and little witch academia but I also love corpse party and higurashi when they cry. I love making my own characters and drawing them again and again. I love horror movies but I also love comedy shows. I love warrior cats and I love roleplaying. I love reading to others and talking for hours about the things I enjoy. I love commentary YouTubers and I love documentaries. I like crime shows and I love analysing music videos.
I love I love I love!!
And that’s all that matters. I don’t need to fit into a group because I just am.
I am a being made up of everything I have ever witnessed and interacted with.
I take the quirks and habits of the people I have met and they become part of me. I adopt new superstitions from characters in tv shows so I can admit that yes — I am easily influenced.
I don’t need to fit into a group because I am simply me.

for the choose violence ask meme 😘: 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22. if this is too many, feel free to pick and choose 💌
OOH okay!!!! I, of course, will answer every single one of these, I have Opinions and am always waiting for any opportunity to share lmao. (These are all for wwdits, and also I am on desktop so please imagine my usual unhealthy amounts of emojis for emphasis/joking cadence, thank u)
9.worst part of canon
The lack of consistency/follow through with pretty basic plot points. For example, Laszlo literally says "God" in the pilot, but then also flinches when Guillermo crosses his fingers in the same episode? Nandor can turn into vapor but can't escape the cage in Animal Control? (we can assume that one is because they're all Big Dumb). Colin Robinson has parents - that are still living??? And of course the glossing over of the year abroad. (but that's my television-wide gripe. I HATE time skips, no matter the show. They're lazy and tell me that you didn't actually know what to do with your plot). I could go on, there are lots.
I will accept the girl wives/guy wives change. That was pure Nandor and I loved it.
10. worst part of fanon
Listen. I love the drama. I LOVE the angst. This is a *comedy show*. We are never going to get the huge, dramatic, heart-wrenching love confession and hour-long sex scene that some fans are actually expecting. Like it can *absoluely* have serious moments, but please lower your expectations. This show averages like 4 shit jokes per episode.
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
Forgive me everyone, but Jackie Daytona. Hilarious episode, I love Laszlo so fucking much and Mark Hamill as a vampire is everything I didn't know I needed. But I really do. not. need. another. episode. It was perfect as is. Let it lie.
(also Laszlo has some WAY better lines/arcs outside of his one episode where he was essentially someone else)
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
Ooh, for fic... I love when people play with the characters/situations from canon a bit. Not necessarily a full AU, but taking some element and asking "what if this happened instead"? I love that.
And there are absolutely no personal biases here, absolutely none, but I would love to see more traditional media fanart. Gimme some paintings, some linocut prints, watercolors, anything! I love to see it.
18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
I'm combining these two, since they're kind of similar. I feel like there's SO MUCH that everyone appreciates, it's hard to come up with something that people have fully ignored.
But I think one of my FAVORITE parts of the show is when they combine actual artwork with images of the characters. My whole life is art history, so I geek out a bit every. Single. Time. I LOVE the attention to detail, and every time I go to an art museum (which is fairly often) I can't help but wonder where the characters could fit in.
It ALSO makes me OBSESS over what contemporary artist would paint vampire Guillermo. I've definitely already made a post about this, but my current bid is for Alejandro Pasquale.
(EDIT: Another artist I think would be great is Ben Ashton. His visuals with the classical style would be so interesting to see hanging next to the actual old artwork in the mansion)
19. you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...
I'm not ashamed about it, but since I somehow still see hate over a year later, I want to voice my support for s4. The lighting? GORGEOUS. The costumes/practical effects? STUNNING. College-me that thought I was going to be a theatre set designer could write BOOKS on the changes they made to the house, let alone the club and night market.
Yes, the time skip pissed me off. Yes, there's the entire Marwa/Freddie can of worms. But literally everything else was incredible and the characters had SO MUCH growth. They are so much closer to the family we've been desperate for them to be since s1 because of s4.

Thoughts on Red White & Royal Blue
This will contain spoilers so don’t continue if you don’t wanna know.
First off, some people are saying that this was one of the best book to film adaptation, and I would just like to point out that that is completely untrue.
We all know that it’s Holes and no, I will not be taking any questions or comments on that matter at this time.
Also I can not express how excited I am for a queer romantic comedy. I am so excited to see queer love represented in a way that isn’t always seen. I do not want to take from that. But…
I was so let down.
They completely cut out the heart of the story. The casting and acting were great for what we got. Zahra was definitely not Zahra, so her and Sheen’s engagement really came out of left field because I don’t even remember them meeting. I hate that they cut out June and attempted to combine her with Nora, and then didn’t even give us Nora or Bre. We needed the White House trio. The three of them are such a force. I hate that we didn’t get Leo. I hated whatever that Miguel character was supposed to be a combination of.
Nick and Taylor did a great job with what they had. I do think that they were really great as Alex and Henry but the love wasn’t showing like it should’ve been. The distance between them and how they communicate through the emails is so important. We missed out on so much beauty from those emails.
“The phrase ‘see attached bibliography’ is the single sexiest thing you have ever written to me.”
I really think it was the writing. It was so lacking, it didn’t make sense at time. Some scenes that were changed were changed in ways that just didn’t make sense, they could have been done how they were written in the book . The Lakehouse? Why wasn’t that dock scene done at night?. The end, when Ellen is reelected, you don’t even know that they’re in Texas. It’s like Alexx and Henry went all Stranger Things and made their way from DC to Austin on random bikes they found.
I’m just really sad that we didn’t get the pizza seen in the game room, we didn’t get Leo wearing a shirt that says “you can’t spell constitution without tits”. We didn’t get crazy analysis Nora, we didn’t get the karaoke scene. We got a Honkytonk? Why can’t that is still been a drag club? The kimonos?
But lastly. With how much they change the emails, and the fact that we didn’t get “history, huh?“ That’s what I think I have to be the most mad about. That is literally the quotes of the book.
There were some positives, but I can’t say that they outweigh the negatives. Where are the spicy scenes lovely? Yes. was the first time they had sex a little awkward? Yes. I wish that we got more of their cuddling, I always loved that Alex ended up being the little spoon.
I think it should have been a mini series. At least 3 to 5 episodes. The book just covers so much and has so much detail in certain areas that really needed to be played out that we didn’t get it. Richards wasn’t a big enough character. Amy wasn’t a big enough character but the person that played her was fantastic in the little bit that we did get.
Everyone who loved it, i’m so happy for you guys and I wish I could be feeling what you’re feeling. I love this book so damn much and when I first read it years ago my first thought after I put it down was “God I need to write the script”

Xenon – atomic number 54, the fifth heaviest noble gas before radon. Colorless, dense, odorless, burns blue, and the most common isotope found in nuclear fission, namely a reactor and a mushroom cloud. Following Tiffany's death, Chuck is down on his luck. It also doesn't help matters that his best friends have been placed into unfortunate arrangements in a world gone mad, one that they are not in any shape or form comfortable with. So many questions on his part, and if only he knew what she had kept from him prior to that fateful night. If only... Meanwhile, an arranged marriage between Alex and Sonia is about to take place, much to his chagrin. If only he could break free from those chains that weigh him down... Further meanwhile, Greg’s girl is a wealthy lady, but therein lies something more to her, especially when she refuses to let him leave the house for the hills.
