Let me preface this with I love oc’s. You will not find a bigger fan of interacting with people’s oc’s than me, buuuuuut….

So awhile ago there was a post going around about how original characters shouldn’t need to write a whole novel to be okay to write with and I think in a sense I do agree?

Here’s me showing my fence sitting ass though: I think you should include some basic info of your muse. People need to know some general info to write with your character. You don’t need to be out here writing a full length feature film but people need to know what to expect because it can be awkward otherwise. Canons have the benefits of having established lore that if people are familiar with their content they don’t need an entire dossier

I don’t throw my oc’s at people yet because outside of benji none of you know the lore and it wouldn’t be fair for me to just throw a character at you with extensive background at you and expect you to just be able to engage with her in the way you could a canon

at what age did you start RPing?

OH I REMEMBER THIS EXACTLY. i was ten years old, and actively lying about my age to chat about shaman king on the neoboards. one of the friends i made was a roleplayer and taught me the ropes & somehow i am still friends with this friend.

12. what do you think about AUs?

They're my favorite thing. I like thinking about what goes into making a character who they are & how drastically they change if even just one thing never happened to them. The more worldbuilding I get to do, the happier I am.

16. what’s the best way to approach you to start playing together?

Turn an ask into a thread! I don't require people ask to do this, I'm just too lazy to reply to them in any way that isn't in my inbox.

Or just crawl in my DMs with an idea. I'm just now starting to bounce back from getting sick over the holidays so I've been slacking but this is a really good way to jump in.

32. do you regularly do dash commentaries?

Yes and I love an RPC that embraces them. It makes it feel like an actual community that anybody can jump into.

38. what’s the best inspiration for your muse?

I'm ngl it felt like Epic The Musical was tailormade for my Pirith playlist. Give me a story about a well-meaning man who is yanked away from everything he'd ever known and is forced to slowly cut away his kindness, his compassion, and everything that gave his life meaning outside of his new purpose and I'm sold. When I need to crack into my drafts, Ruthlessness is the first track that plays to get the vibe right bc it feels like an argument between an idealist and a brutal pragmatist demanding they accept the world as it is, not how they want it to be.

That and the political manipulation & 5D chess moves of ASOIAF.
