WIP Wednesday (12/13) | Arsonist Neil / Firefighter Andrew AU (Part 74)

Andrew yawns again and considers getting up to go to bed. But he’s comfortable where he is. And warm. And cozy. He decides to stay put. After a couple minutes of waiting, Andrew’s eyes fall shut and his breathing starts to slow. Then his phone vibrates where it’s lying on his chest and he jolts awake. Fuck. 

10 I don’t know. I was just curious. What are you doing? Andrew Currently? Falling asleep. 10 Am I that boring? Andrew Yes. But also, I’m fucking exhausted. Perhaps you should set fires earlier in the day, so I don’t have to miss sleep. 10 You want me to set fires in broad daylight? Andrew It would be a nice change of pace. 10 No, it’s easier to fade into the background at night. Besides, the fire is prettier when it’s dark.

Andrew supposes he’s got a point. For a lunatic, anyhow. 

After calling the arsonist an idiot and getting another sad face emoji in response, the two talk until Andrew's eyes refuse to stay open. That’s when he drifts off and dreams of a fire at the beach. It’s huge and 10 is there, of course. And he’s got that sad look on his face again. Andrew subtlety waves and when he blinks, 10 is gone. 

Just like the real thing.

also amidst uncertainty and feeling less than themselves, to all my fellow moots and writers: i hope u know how amazingly all of you write, whether it’s smut or angst or fluff. even if interactions are lacking (some of it can be blamed on t*mblr’s shitty ui/ux and programming) or the writing just feels off for some reason, it’s perfectly normal. it’s part of growth and improvement and it’s like yadda yadda yadda we’ve all heard this before and don’t really implement it because the brain has funny ways of making us feel like shit and it absolutely sucks but it will pass soon. i won’t have a set time on how long this will last and i cannot tell you how long of a break you should take but at the end of the day you should be prioritising yourself first and when you feel refreshed, you can come back to your wips and requests and first drafts. sending all my love to u guys cause we do this shit for free. give yourself more credit and take care of yourself fr <3

see the thing is it's hard to make friends in your 20s but also if u don't do that how are u supposed to like. Find Someone right but then also in your 20s is when people start pairing off For Real so by the time you DO make friends they already have someone or are like making the steps TO have someone but it's also like well if I meet people for the specific purpose to date them I will never feel comfortable enough to actually Like them on a romantic level bc now I feel pressured to feel that way about them bc we entered some sort of weird social contract when we said hey let's see each other for the sole purpose to date instead of just hanging out and seeing what happens. but then like once again if u are just hanging out and seeing what happens then like okay neither of u are connected in any which way except that u like to watch movies on weekends and get dinner with the rest of your friends twice a month and then like okay maybe they find someone that they DO get together with for the express purpose to date bc once again u two are just hanging out so there's no obligation there and u cannot even get mad bc like. yeah you're just pals what are u gonna do say they can't have fun on a date so then you're just like. chilling. by yourself. which is FINE but you'd like to not be by yourself once or twice so like. lather rinse repeat u know. anyway what was I saying
