funniest thing that ever happened when we were playing botw was my sister was playing and she had made it up to the top of the tower in hyrule field (the one surrounded by guardians) and was looking down at the guardians through a slot in the like railing and i was like "you should shoot the guardian" because i thought they were out of range and so she shot the guardian in the eye with an arrow and it came alive and immediately hit link with a laser and link instantly died ragdolled and fell through the slot and miphas grace activated and my sister immediately teleported away while mipha was still doing her thing. and i was just laughing so hard.
#its just the image of link limply falling to the ground miphas ghost around him then turning into tendrils of blue light. i wish i had#filmed it. but there was no way i couldve predicted it would happen i was living in the moment#after i finish minish cap i will finish botw it has been over a year...im sorry daruk i left you hanging (when we stopped i had just entere#vah rudania)#though i might do naboris first bc . i dont want to fight thunderblight last when it has even more hp thats scary.#(weve already done vah ruta and vah medoh)#its kind funny in totk i got like all of the towers right away (although the one on mt lanayru was a struggle bc#i did not have enough cold protective stuff but i was just scaling the mountain out of pure spite)#one of the gerudo desert ones i also didnt have any heat protection so i was just trying to do the thing while link was just taking damage#anyways but in totk i got all the towers i think b4 we did any main quest stuff but then in botw#there were some towers that i just. i tried but i didnt get until i had revalis gale lol. shout out revalis gale.#anyways speaking of funny things in botw totk the other day i was playing totk and i was#i put link in a christmas outfit (dyed the rito shirt and pants and the cap of the wild red)#and made a sled to attach to my horse so link could be santa. and i was trying to make it to rito village#but the bridge on the map was smaller in real life than it looked on the map and the horse refused to walk on it but i kept trying to force#him to inch forward to try and make it across. and then my horse CLIPPED THROUGH the bridge and started FREE FALLING#and in a panic i teleported straight back to the stable and took out another horse as fast as i could. the horse was fine but i did#go to malanya and cook him some food to upgrade my horse immediately afterwards lol#botw lowkey traumatized me bc when i was playing twilight princess i did not use epona as much as i could because i was afraid of bringing#her into danger. and even though i logically knew that she cannot die in twilight princess the years of playing botw still had alarm bells#ringing. but like why do the horses have to die in botw totk...come on...#they dont even disappear the corpse just stays there to let you stew in your guilt!! like the livestock on farms and in stables#cant get hurt! so why can your horses :(

Fic Author Interview
Thanks for the tag @unmaskedcardinal!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Five although one of them is really a rough draft of another fic.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
264,548! (There's way more on the way though...)
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The Amnesiac Hero's Quest (T, BotW AU covering when Link leaves the Great Plateau until just after freeing Vah Ruta (and Mipha), 14 chapters, only finished fic so far) 50 kudos.
Link's Story: Finding Hateno Village (T, BotW AU, pretty much what it says on the tin, Link leaves Kakariko going towards Mt. Lanaryu by mistake and tries to find his way to Hateno Village. This is the one that spawned TAHQ, oneshot, the first thing I posted on AO3.) 21 kudos.
Shifting Tides of Fate (M, BotW AU picking up where TAHQ leaves off, Link and Mipha head to Rito Village to save Revali and free Vah Medoh, 6 chapters posted, WIP) 11 kudos.
The Ballad of Kass (M (originally T), BotW AU starting a week or two before the start of TAHQ, Kass sets out to find Link to fulfil his promise to his teacher, and his sister Kalia tags along. Second thing I posted, kind of the backbone to the whole The Realm Walker saga at this point [cause it intersects with the other stories so I have to time things out carefully], 15 chapters posted, WIP) 8 kudos.
The Tale of the Realm Walker (M, Wind Waker & Twilight Princess sequel with a ton of nods to the rest of the franchise (a LOT of ALttP). Chronologically the first story in TRW Saga, but I'm effectively telling it as an in-universe tale in BotW times, and it's the most recently posted fic of mine on AO3, only 2 chapters posted so far, WIP) 2 kudos.
The first two fics for sure got hit by the kudos bug a while ago. Kudos Georg I guess... Given that they've been up the longest I can see why they've got more than the others.
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! If someone took the time to comment on my fics then I'm going to say something back. I'm am very much here for the community aspect. Even though I may not always comment on something I've read (or art I've looked at).
5. What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Well the only one with an ending so far is TAHQ and it's fairly happy. Hm... How to not spoil plans? If it was finished then The Tale of the Realm Walker would be the answer. I'll uh... leave it at that...
6. What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
See above, The Amnesiac Hero's Quest.
7. Do you write crossovers?
Not anymore, I had some batcrap insane hypothetical video game ideas that were crossovers, but those have all mostly been tossed. Though I did salvage plenty of ideas from them. The Realm Walker Saga itself came from a LoZ/Final Fantasy crossover, "Project 47" as well. Untitled Castelvania Fanfic Project... Untitled Front Mission Fanfic Project...
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
No.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but that'd be pretty cool.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, but one of the stories in my Trek fanfic got an editor. Went by the username of USS Da Vinci (IIRC) on Subspace Comms Network (SCN, a now defunct Star Trek and Sci-Fi forum I was on).
13. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I guess Revalink. Or Picard/Crusher?
14. What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
At this point I've more or less made my peace with the death of my Trek and Stargate fics. Do I think about them still? Yes. (I'd give my aliens with the space whale ships Discovery style spore drives... Maybe throw in a Kelpian character or two...) (Had a blast rewatching most of the Ori arc of SG-1 not that long ago...)
15. What are your writing strengths?
Action scenes, quirky humor (I make myself laugh at least), describing what characters are doing in a scene.
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Scenery porn. I so rarely mention time of day or anything. I have to really sit down and focus on all that, so lately I've just been hammering out an arc and then going back and fluffing all that up in edits. (Although I am particularly proud of a few scenes in The Ballad of Kass and Shifting Tides of Fate.)
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I actually tried this with a little teaser for my Castlevania fic idea. The scene takes place in Austria so I decided to have the opening few lines be in German then switch to English, cause while I did take a couple classes in college, I don't know nearly enough to write a whole dialog chain. So throughout the little snippet there'd be a German line or two. Used Google translate for things I didn't know, but it was giving me something weird for "My name is..." [Also stared at Google Maps of Graz for HOURS picking locations, even though the fic is set 1,071 years in the future after a society ruining cataclysm... I must have some accuracy!]
I have made up words for fics. I've got 11 whole alphabets for the Avestrens (bird people) in "Project 47" and a handful of words. A handful of Rito words. Back in my Trek fic days I was writing in script format and would just put things like [Cardassian curse] rather than trying to come up with something.
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Star Trek, it was script based and set 10 years after Voyager's return from the Delta Quadrant. Multiple spinoffs were planed spanning a period of 50 years. (I had started writing the sequel before finishing the first fic, and wrote a little bit of some of the other spinoffs.)
19. What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
I can't really think of anything. I'd like to do something with my Castlevania or Final Fantasy ideas but I'd need the right mood or inspiration to get anywhere. I'm not much of a shipper to be honest, at least with canon characters I guess? I like making my OC's kiss...
20. What's your favorite fic you've written?
Oh that's hard! The initial version of The Tale of the Realm Walker has a special place in my heart, but gods it's all walls of text! How did I ever keep track of everything?! The Ballad of Kass is a place for me to go nuts with Rito headcanons and have fun with the birbs until I can get the Revali centric fics really going. I'm proud of actually finishing The Amnesiac Hero's Quest (I love moment where Link finally meets Purah and is convinced that there's something in the water in Hateno that makes everyone a weirdo and she put it there. He's getting his red string and nails ready...).
I guess just for semantics sake, since "written" is past tense, I'll go with TAHQ as my final answer (this time around) since it's finished.

hm. major characters' favorite types of weather
HM!!
mipha used to like rain!! its one of the only weathers where new types of creatures come out, like tireless frogs. also its pretty she doesnt care what anyone says its always pretty. especially with how the domains lights reflect off of it!!!! also it feels really nice on her scales. she likes to direct water by moving her arm whe droplets are running across it so it looks like her hand is a small hose if its raining enough. anyways however uh. after vah ruta she probably likes to see the domain sunny again. i dont know how aware she was during the whole being trapped as a spirit thing, so she may still like the rain but’s still weary over it. so right now her favorite weather would probably be sun showers: not enough rain to break the dam and its sunny, but its still raining so critters come out And you feel nice rain on your skin/scales, and the rainbows!!! promises of a better future over all. also i forgot about thunderstorms in the past she’d go over to watch the lightning, nowadays she’ll still watch it but isnt a fan of the noise or wind
on one hand i dont think revali would have a good perception of weather in general (tabantha alone has like. a 2% chance rain and is mostly always sunny, and after doing the shrine quest for the singing chicks/the singing rocks quest rito village is just set to Always Sunny. no i dont know why . so its good chance that for revali itd either be Sunny or Snowy and no in between. ritoes still know of rain though (in game dialogue) so he at least knows of it), however once he does travel i dont think he’d like the rain honestly. makes his feathers wet and heavy and hes not even taking a shower and its Cold >:( . while rainbows would be cool to him once again the rain deters him. snowy is familiar to him but sometimes thats a bad thing. as much as he Knows it its both extremely cold, hard to see through, cold with the Wind making it feel a lot more cold than it is, and yeah. ive said that he would pride himself on being able to see through it which he would but sometimes i think itd be a struggle over all. so he likes sunny the best. thunder irritates him
daruk doesnt have too much of a preference! he likes sunny as its what his home had before death mt was active, rain is something new and surprisingly feels nice, sun showers have both the perks of sunny and rain And have the bonus of rainbows. i dont think he’d like heavy Heavy rain or thunderstorms but yeah! he also wouldnt like snow nor lava/magma weather
urbosa would love thunder storms. gerudo desert as beautiful and homey as it is is so hot. it makes you sluggish tired ready to puke and pass out from heatstroke. unless you have a circlet you will Not Have Fun. always bring water i cannot stress this enough. so having cold rain would already be fun enough, both because of the kind of child instinct of wanting to play in the rain but also Water. Cool. feels nice. minus getting your clothes wet but Still. and then Lightning Too?????? she can practice smiting people and no one would notice!! on a more serious note though she’d like to see thunder in its. Natural Habitat. though she might be a little more weary of it after naboris. also once again she just likes the rain especially if its raining really hard. she does not like snow at all, sunnys meh, sun showers are cool
zelda!!!!!!! thunder storms sun showers and surprisingly enough, snow!! she likes snow the most due to being able to play with snow, snowflakes Looking Like That, and how it feels in general. if its not windy its Perfect for her. sun showers show rainbows and thats mostly what shes a fan of, she Does like the rain but probably a lot more post cal because she can play in mud and dirt and rain with no consequence/shame. she probably Would have shame over it unless there was a goal to it . like walking through bottomless bogs just to get across she’d Do That. but i dont know if she’d actually play play in mud unfortunately </3 . thunderstorms she likes seeing how the thunder Comes In, as they appear through little clouds like the dragon clouds. also did you know that at certain mountain points if its thundering itll turn to snow but the thundering itself wont stop, so itll snow And thunder. i think thatd be her favorite. i dont think she likes the sound of thunder though. also she likes the ash flakes of magma weather but Hates the hot
wreath!!!! neutral however he hates thunderstorms and snowy weather. thunderstorms as it Targets his Weapons and he gets Fried!!!!!!!!!!!! also he cant climb walls. snowy weather he can never see anything and its always creepy… herobrine weather. he does like rain (pretty) but once again. he cannot scale anything. this led to him while scaling the skull lake eye shrine to camp out in a small caveish/a place where he could stand on solid ground when he was halfway up. i think zelda would want to do this and Do This instead of teleporting up. anyways sunnys meh to him. provides nothing of value except in snow regions. post everything it doesnt really. matter to him . well even less. he likes rain a little more now but yeah! probably rain

I hope this message finds you well, and that you're having a better time with yourself. Last time we talked you said things were up and down. My desire for you is that you are feeling more up, than down. If that is not the case, I wonder if there is anything I can do to lessen the burden for you. In other news.... I don't know your dietary needs & culture, but today is National Cheeseburger Day, so if you can have such, maybe I can send you a few so you can treat yourself to a nice one? If not, then I wish you a happy day regardless. Also, I want to thank you for being a part of the fandom with your contributions, and with reblogging MT: VaH. I wonder what your thoughts are on the latest page & chapter. What is your favorite part of the story, thus far? At any rate, I've rambled on long enough. Have a day that is is filled with safety, peace, and joy! Sincerely, A Fellow Tumblr User, Vixen T. Fox (Wild-Mare-of-Prosecution)
Sorry this reply is so late. I thank you. It's nice to know people are genuinely concerned. Don't worry. Currently, I am seeking help.

Yes! I've made a few new co-worker friends by sharing pics of me trying to work towards being healthy....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've shared some of my curries and pastas with co-workers and my cab driver. Gotten a nice foot soaker for my birthday & a blanket hoodie for Christmas (I love my blanket hoodie so much)! This eventually led me to talking about my shows and things I'm watching, which led me to finding out they are either partially established fans of one of my fandoms, or are new and interested in my fandoms. Yesterday, a guy that I sometimes ride the bus with (whom I hadn't seen in a while) asked me how MT: VaH was doing, because I told him that I worked on a fancomic in my free time. It made me feel really good. I've gotten a Ladybug themed (not licensed) bracelet, and a Princess Tutu themed necklace (not licensed) from a co-worker (she really likes beads and makes jewelry from time to time) as gifts/presents, because I've mentioned and talked those shows from time to time. Also found out that she really likes K-Dramas such as Strong Girl Bong Soon. TL;DR- Don't be afraid of continuing to enjoy the things you did as a kid.... whether it be meal time, or going to see a movie, or going to a park to play kick the can, freeze tag, frisbee, a sports match, watching and reacting to a piece of media (show/movie)... whatever it is that you liked as a kid... there's still elements of that you can carry into adulthood in a healthy way!
to succeed in adult friendship you must remember the key tenets of child friendship:
Play Toys
Play Pretend
Snack Time

Tag Game - Word Search
Okay, okay, I had to do this for @mikaharuka, @udaberriwrites, @oceangirl24 and @alpaca-clouds. Thanks for tagging me! My post kept crashing so I had to make a new one lol.
These are all from part 3 of my "Fire of a Thousand Suns" series, "A Twisted Timeline Tale of Breath of the WIld." My words: Sword, Blood, Shiver, Voice, Lock
SWORD: (Chapter 80):
Fi’s voice abruptly addressed him once again, the voice of the Sword still echoing in his mind. "Ganon was born out of a dark past. He is the pure embodiment of an ancient evil reborn time and time again. He has given up on reincarnation and has assumed his pure, enraged spiritual form. If set free upon your world the destruction will be unlike anything ever seen before in all the Realms."Link's eyes were suddenly drawn to Zelda's golden orb floating above him, and he breathed a deep sigh of relief. She spoke within his mind once again. "Link! I'm so relieved you’re safe! We must hurry! The Goddess has forged a weapon, the counterpart to the Sword That Seals the Darkness. She has entrusted you with the Light Bow. Take it, and we will defeat Dark Beast Ganon together! I love you, my beloved king."
BLOOD: (Chapter 14) Link is still bleeding profusely onto the ground. He cannot speak but only stares up at her helplessly. She violently rips off his shirt to soak up his blood while she yanks the Sheikah slate from his hip. She frantically taps the screen with shaking hands and materializes Blood Balm and a bottle of disinfectant. She winces, knowing this is going to hurt.
Forty seconds left.
She quickly pours the disinfectant over him. He yells and passes out from the unbearable pain of the liquid as it rushes like a scathing, burning river of serrated razors tearing through his open wound.
"No Link, please. Don't you dare."
She applies the Blood Balm. His physical life force is quickly draining into an ever-growing dark red puddle beside her beloved. She applies pressure with his soaked shredded shirt hard against the massive wound.
Twenty seconds left.
“Please, Hylia, help him." She jerks a large bandage out of her bag, forces the shirt out of the way, and tightly wraps the bandage with frantic speed against the large gash that has gloriously begun repairing itself thanks to the quick effects of the Blood Balm. She breathes for the first time.
“Goddess Hylia, please help me! Link, hold on!”
SHIVER: (Chapter 53)
Link placed a hand around the small of her back and gently pushed her down with the other, easing her onto her back on the ground underneath him. He playfully ran his tongue from the base of her neck up to her ear and gently gave it a nibble.
"Liiink…” She was breathing faster now, unable to stop the waves of desire that were sending trails of fire though her blood again.
"So, what do you think, my lady? Shall we stay here? How many mountains in Hyrule can we defile? We’ve already defiled Mt. Lanayru. Shall we add Satori Mountain to the list?” His hushed, low whispers in her ear sent a shiver down her spine and straight to a certain area of her that Link was slightly rubbing himself against.
She let out a nervous giggle, and Link saw her blush at his stimulating words, even in shadow.
VOICE: ((Chapter 58)
She climbed into his lap and turned, facing away from him. She could hear his breath hitch at the contact of her sitting there. He wrapped his arms around her from behind and began slowly placing sweet but teasing kisses between her shoulder blades as she leaned back into him. Pricks of pleasure zapped her with every kiss. Her voice was breathless. “I don’t know about you, Link, but…I think this beats a massage and a soft bed…don’t you?” Her voice was shaking, reflecting her building desire. “Mmm…” he softly hummed. “I’m the happiest anywhere and anytime I can hold you and kiss you like this.”
LOCK: (Chapter 67)
Vah Naboris, the camel-like Divine Beast, takes a walk, the land shaking with every step. It settles upon the cliffs of the Gerudo Desert, folding its legs underneath itself as it lies in the dry, arid desert air of the region’s highlands. It faces Hyrule Castle as anticipation wells within its pilot, the Gerudo Champion Urbosa. A large, powerful red laser beam extends from between the ears of the camel-like Divine Beast, setting its sights on Ganon’s cocoon, joining the other three beams that are armed and at the ready.
Urbosa speaks. “You are a legend! Isn’t that right, Naboris? The bitter essence of my defeat a century ago still sits upon my tongue, but that is now in the past. It is written that Calamity Ganon once took the form of a Gerudo. That will make this victory all the more satisfying. I like that, because now I can take this personally. We have established a lock on that thing, and now it is up to Link to keep Ganon occupied until the moment we unleash our strike. That moment is going to be so delicious.”
Vah Naboris unleashes a deafening grunt and a cry in response that echoes throughout the land of Hyrule. The Divine Beast and its pilot are ready. What a fun game! Tagging @axolotlsupremacyowo, @1up-girl, @zeldaseyebrows, @drsteggy and @tsunderewatermelon (No pressure!) Your words are: Love, fallen, high, battle, and soft

WIP WEDNESDAY
Yeah, I’m sporadic on these because it’s been a lot of cosplay stuff, but I have to switch gears and I did today. This is certainly subject to change
Zelda has seemed quietly crushed since she came down from the slopes of Mt. Lanayru. When Urbosa reaches for her, her fire is suddenly back.
“No,” the princess pulls back and stands tall. “I’m not a child anymore. I may not be much use on the battlefield. But there must. There must be something I can do to help.”
“You figure that out,” Revali crouches to ready his updraft again. “I’m off to Vah Medoh.” He launches himself into the sky, spiraling up before curving his path westward toward Hebra.
“We should all go,” Daurk looked up as the Rito vanished into the sky. “We will meet back at the castle when its over.”
Urbosa remembered this moment later. She had a lot of time later to remember everything.
They ran back down the promenade as a group. Mipha left first, diving into the water as soon as she could after stealing a kiss from Link. She said nothing, the Calamity made her bold at last. Link was momentarily off guard and red faced as she pushed off him to head to the water. Then she was gone.
Daruk split away next, though he stopped and said goodbye, and wished Zelda luck in discovering her power soon. Zelda looked away, frustration shining in her eyes.

Breath of the Wild: A Cannonical Timeline of Events Leading up to the Calamity (Part 2)
This is Part 2 of a three-part post laying out the cannon timeline of events in BOTW that led up to the Great Calamity. A while ago, I typed up a timeline to use as a reference for BOTW writing in my Google docs, but I figured it may be useful to other people who struggle with the same slog of remembering what happened when.
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3
Reminder that this is a long post, and that all events that are listed are taken from:
The original 13 memories
The separate diaries of Zelda and her father
Zelda’s research journal
The Champion’s Ballad DLC, which includes additional memories + diary entries from each of the four champion pilots
Masterworks/Creating a Champion, which discusses things like specific routes taken upon Calamity Ganon’s return.
KEY
🔸Rigidly Cannon
🔺Some Interpretation Needed
🔹Mostly Interpretive
🔸Subdued Ceremony
This is a ceremony for Link’s official appointment as Zelda’s knight. This can really be told from anyone’s perspective. Keep in mind that different characters will feel different emotions regarding this ceremony - no champion here feels the same.
🔸Revali’s Flap
I actually love this scene, because it shows just how much “being a Champion” can affect people differently. Revali and Link are polar opposites here.
🔸Resolve and Grief
The purpose of Link and Zelda’s outing is debatable (🔹) - they likely are on their way to Goron City, considering the next event(s) in the timeline, but they may also just be out doing research. It’s up to the writer. Their conversation during this scene is rather isolated from whatever their goal is, so it doesn’t really matter.
🔸Daruk’s Mettle
Before this scene, it’s stated in Daruk’s training journal that Link helped Daruk figure out piloting by simply shoving him into the divine beast and letting him explore it on his own. Although Link doesn’t show much emotion here, it’s important to have the underlying knowledge that he and Daruk are good friends.
🔺More Shrines are Uncovered
It’s around this time that more shrines are being discovered - relics of the battle 10,000 years ago. Purah’s theory is that the Hero of Legend is destined to access the shrines in preparation for the Calamity’s return, possibly with the Sheikah slate. That said, I truly don’t know why Link was never given a shot at opening the shrines himself. This could merely have been because Zelda was too afraid to give him the chance to accomplish yet another thing that she couldn’t. There’s also a possibility that Link did try opening the shrines and it still didn’t work (in which case, why did it work 100 years later? - a possible theory via Zeltik on YT). Edit: I recently put together a theory that explains how Purah and Zelda didn’t understand the full mechanics of the slate/shrines/towers. Check it out to get a better idea.
🔸Zelda’s Resentment
How did she get away from Link long enough to make it to the Anciet Columns? I have no clue. I’ve read that she simply left while he was packing up camp, another story said that she slipped him a sleeping drug. Writers, man.
🔺Link Gets Into Gerudo Town with Urbosa’s Help
Cannon, but not delved into. Urbosa states in her diary that she told Link “a way” to sneak in - it can be assumed that she meant cross dressing, but it can be whatever the writer wants. Maybe she just told Link about a secret passage into town. Regardless, however he gets into town, he doesn’t find Zelda.
🔸Urbosa’s Hand
Urbosa lets Link know that Zelda has come to Vah Naboris, and he makes his way there (not quite sure how he climbed the thing). Urbosa takes the opportunity to tell Link about Zelda’s struggle to conquer her powers, and when finished, she orders Link to guard the Princess with his life. This is Urbosa, mind - while they’re all technically on the same level as “Champions”, Urbosa is definitely Link’s superior, spiritually if not literally. This adds another layer of necessity to Link’s duty - not only to protect Zelda, but to stop the Calamity.
🔸Blades of the Yiga
Again, it’s unknown how Zelda got away from Link. Either way, Zelda regards this event in her diary as a relative turning point in her relationship with him.
🔺Zelda Apologizes to Link
This presumably happed soon after, although what she says and how Link handles it is entirely up to interpretation. Keep in mind that she isn’t just apologizing for constantly abandoning him and making his job harder - she’s apologizing for assuming he was shallow and obnoxious, and has the mindset of trying to get to know him better.
🔸A Premonition
A big battle theoretically took place before this scene, but Link only came away with one major wound - do with that as you may.
🔸Silent Princess
Personally one of my favorites. Zelda is at Peak Dork here. Link’s emotions could honestly range from crushing and bashful to beyond annoyed - up to the writer.
🔺Mipha Completes the Lightscale Armor
A bit tragic, yeah. To her credit, it does fit Link perfectly, even 100 years later. She plans to propose to Link when he next visits Zora’s Domain.
🔸Mipha’s Touch
Even more tragic. Similar to Daruk’s Mettle(🔸), keep in mind that Link and Mipha have a long history of knowing each other, which can be hard to remember since Link is mostly unresponsive in this memory. Mipha’s POV would be interesting here, especially since she intended to propose properly and ultimately didn’t.
🔸Shelter from the Storm
This is an interesting scene to write for a few author’s I’ve met, because in this memory we see Zelda actively ask Link a complex question. Although the memory fades, Link presumably responded - with what? That could range wildly. (🔹)
🔺Link Opens Up to Zelda
Link admits that the burden of the sword requires him to remain impassive on the surface. This conversation may have happened during the previous memory.
🔸Father and Daughter
Zelda’s emotions are pretty straightforward here, but Link’s aren’t nearly as clear. If anything, this scene shows that although he has opened up more to Zelda, he still knows his formal place. This is the last time Zelda ever speaks to her father, as he dies when the Calamity hits.
🔸Slumbering Power
Zelda openly questions her faith here. Angst is high. She honestly just needs a hug. Once again, there’s a cliffhanger - Link turns to look at her, obviously switching from his duty of being turned away. Why is up to the writer. He’s been listening, so what does he think?
🔸To Mount Lanayru
Zelda turns 17 the next day. She and Link return to the castle before journeying to Mt. Lanayru - this is where Zelda inputs her final entry in her diary, and where she has her dream about a woman looking at her through the light. She continues to question her faith.
🔺The Champions See Link and Zelda Off
Urbosa, Daruk, and Mipha all met Link and Zelda at the foot of Mt. Lanayru to see them off on their journey to the Spring of Wisdom. Revali doesn’t join them, saying he’s busy but will likely meet them on their way back down. We see him there with the others before Calamity Ganon returns.

His Ninjas
Second chapter of my @talisbirthdaychallenge fic!
Chapter 2: New Heights
As always, Ziva woke up before the other two and went out for a walk around the area. By the time she returned, Tony and Tali were awake and getting ready for their first day of sightseeing. “Are you just immune to jetlag or something?” Tony yawned, buttoning his shirt. “I brought breakfast,” she said, rather than responding, and placed a box of doughnuts on the table, then handed her partner a paper cup. He opened the lid, closed his eyes, and inhaled the coffee scent deeply. “Have I told you how much I love you?” he practically moaned. “You have,” she said with a shrug, “but I can always stand to hear it again.” Tony pressed a kiss to her cheek and opened the box of doughnuts. “Hey, T-Bird,” he called to their daughter, “come get some breakfast.” “Ooh,” Tali cooed, climbing onto a chair to pick out a treat, “I love doughnuts.” “Daddy’s girl,” Ziva teased, swatting at Tony’s stomach. He rolled his eyes. “Should we tell her?” he asked Ziva. Tali’s ears perked up and she paused her perusal, “Me?”
“I do not know, Tony. Do you think we should tell her?” “Is it me?” Tali said, fully turning to face her parents. Tony shrugged, continuing the game, “Tough question. It might be too exciting. I mean, it’s such good news.” “Tell me!” Tali called. “Hmm, you are right,” Ziva replied, pretending to ignore their child, “She may not even want to know.” “I wanna know, I wanna know,” Tali begged. Tony pretended to think about it while Tali reached out her little hand and grabbed his arm. “Daaaaaaddyyyyy,” she pleaded.  “Oh!” he said, pretending to have just noticed the little girl, “Tali. Didn’t see you come in. Ima and I were just discussing if you would like to know about your super-special, extra-fantastic birthday present that we got for you.” Tali’s eyes grew wide and she nodded frantically. “Well, you know how your birthday is in a couple of days?” he began. “Yep. I’m gonna be six!” she said proudly. He nodded, “That’s right. And your Ima and I decided that we would take you on an extra special trip just for your birthday.” Tali narrowed her eyes, “But you said we were in Japan for your work.” Ziva nodded, “We are, but we are going somewhere special while we are here.” “Is it the Pokemon Cafe?” Tali gasped. Tony opened and closed his mouth a few times, trying to think of the right words, “We are going to the Pokemon Cafe, but that’s not your special gift.” “So it’s even more special than the Pokemon Cafe?” Tali asked, thinking Tony nodded, “I think so, what do you think, Ima?” “Oh,” Ziva said, pretending to be taken aback, “yeah, I think so.” Tali leaned forward, conspiratorially, “Where is it?” Tony made a show of looking around, as if he were making sure that no one was around to hear his answer, before he and Ziva leaned forward so that the three of them were huddled together. “Disneyland,” he responded in a stage whisper. “What?!” Tali shouted so loudly that Ziva and Tony both became concerned that they would never regain hearing in the ears closest to their daughter, “Do you mean it?!” Tony sat back and smiled, “Of course, kiddo.” “I can’t believe it,” Tali said, backing away, “I can’t believe it. I’ve gotta go tell Pikachu.” As their daughter ran off, Ziva chuckled. Her partner looked up at her from where he was still sitting on the floor, “I think we did a pretty good job with this present.”
------------------------
Even as the morning faded, Tali continued walking on air, still in disbelief that she was going to Disneyland in a few days. However, this thought did not stop her from fully enjoying their other stops. Her fun at the drum museum did not do any favors to her parents’ ears that she had already damaged over breakfast. After leaving the gardens of the Imperial Palace, she held her father’s hand as they followed Ziva through the streets of Nihonbashi. The little girl looked up in awe at the unfamiliar sights around her while Tony looked at his partner in awe at the ease with which she could navigate an unfamiliar city. Tali was not really paying attention as they entered a building and took an elevator up, but as the doors slid open, her eyes landed on something and she gave a theatrical gasp. “Daddy!” she said, yanking on Tony’s arm, “It's Pikachu!”
“I can’t believe I got to get my picture taken with Chef Pikachu!” Tali said happily as they left the shopping center, new Chef Pikachu toy tucked away in her backpack for safekeeping, “Lily is going to be so jealous of me when I show her. I need to buy her a souvenir! Ima, we need to go back to the Pokemon store!” Ziva laughed at the girl’s verbalized thoughts, “Ahava, there will be many more places to get Lily a gift. Do not worry, we will find something.” Tali nodded, taking her mother’s hand this time, as they made their way back to the train station.
--------------------------------------
“Where are we going next?” Tali asked as they rode the train back from Mt. Takao. Ziva shrugged, “I am not sure. We’re going somewhere that your father chose.” “Ima,” Tali said leaning into her mother’s side, “wasn’t it funny when the monkey took all of Daddy’s food?” Ziva laughed and Tony looked up from his map and narrowed his eyes.  “Laugh it up, Zee-vah,” he teased, “see if I ever save you from hungry macaques.”
“What the hell, DiNozzo?” Ziva hissed under her breath as they stood in front of a blank wall with only a small sign, a lamp, and a wooden door, “I thought we were going to have dinner ‘somewhere special.’” “Just wait,” he said with a wink, leading Tali up to the door and pushing it open to reveal a small room. As Ziva entered, the maître d' clapped his hands and a small door popped open, revealing a person dressed in all maroon with only their eyes showing. Tali’s eyes grew wide and she looked up at Tony, “Is that a real ninja?” The ninja-cum-waiter and Tali led the way through a narrow maze until they arrived at their table, at which time, he sent Tali on a mad search for the hidden ninja call button.  Tony grinned like the Cheshire Cat through the entire experience while Ziva tried to not show him how amused she was at his scheme.  Once their food had arrived and Tali was busy playing with her toy ninja sword, Ziva looked across the table at her partner. “Did you pick this restaurant just so that you could make more ninja jokes?” she asked, raising her eyebrows.  “Now, come on, Ziva, why would I do that?” he said, smiling into his soup.  “And you saw the prices on the menu before booking this?” she added. His grin turned into a full-on smirk, “I am very committed to my art.” She could only roll her eyes.
After they left the ninja restaurant, snapping a picture of Tali in her ninja headband with their ninja waiter on the way out, they headed once more into the streets of Tokyo. They ended up in a Hello Kitty store and another Pokemon shop before they actually arrived at their intended destination. Tony was fairly certain that all the school supplies Tali would need between now and college were currently stuffed into his and Ziva’s backpacks as they rode an elevator to the 350th floor of the Tokyo Skytree. While Tali and Ziva looked out at the city, Tony purchased tickets for them to go even higher up, which required another elevator ride that Tali was all too happy to take. After they got off the elevator, the problem became keeping up with Tali as she dragged them along the ramp to the highest point. Just as her parents would start to get a good view, the little girl would spot something just ahead and insist that they keep going.  “What can I say, the kid’s very goal-oriented,” Tony joked, winking at Ziva as Tali urged him to hurry up.
Once they reached the top, Tali finally stopped for a moment. She all but pressed herself against the walls to look out over the lights of the city in awe. Tony stood beside her, “What do you think, kiddo? As good as the Eiffel Tower back home?” Tali’s eyes never left the window as she responded, “It’s better.” “Better?” Tony questioned, looking from Tali to Ziva who couldn’t tear her eyes from their daughter, “How is it better?” “It’s so much taller, Daddy,” Tali said, “And the lights go on forever.” Tony shrugged, “Yeah, the city is pretty big, isn’t it?” Ziva put an arm around Tony and leaned against him, “It is the largest metro in the world, you know?” “Mhm,” Tony responded, noncommittally, “I’m just happy that I found somewhere in the world where you and I are on the same level, linguistically.” “Ha!” Ziva barked, “My love, you and I will never be on the same level, linguistically.” Tony huffed, “Oh come on, Ziva, just because you’re not that great at English doesn’t mean you have to put yourself down like that.” She swatted his arm and chuckled.
Eventually, they tore Tali away from the windows and made their way down to the 340th floor, where she soon found a new favorite thing-- the deck’s glass floor. They watched their daughter walking around on the floor, looking down on the city below her, and talked. “You know, I’ve thought about proposing to you on top of the Eiffel Tower,” Tony said. Ziva didn’t look at him, but responded, “That is such a movie thing to do.” “Are you telling me that you’d say ‘No’?” “I’m telling you that you could do better.” “So if I proposed to you here?” “Are you?” “Well, I didn’t bring the ring with me.” She turned her head to look at him, “But you have a ring?” He scratched the side of her head, avoiding looking at her, “I’ve had a ring for eight years.” “Tony,” she said in a heavy voice barely above a whisper. Tony turned his head and looked at her shyly. She turned her hand to hold his, continuing to look at her.  “You didn’t really answer my question,” he said. She responded, “You didn’t answer mine either.” He cracked a smile, “Now that’s not fair, I did ask first.” “Remind me of what your question was,” she said with a small smile.  “Will you marry me?” Her smile grew, actually showing her white teeth now, “Yeah.” “That’s not quite the big, romantic answer I thought I would get,” he teased. “Well,” she said, smile turning to a smirk, “that wasn’t quite the big, romantic proposal I thought I would get.” “We’ve never done things the way people would expect,” Tony shrugged. “This is true,” she said, turning back to watch Tali. “Besides, there’s time for big, romantic gestures when I actually give you the ring, huh?” “Having two separate proposals would be far from the most unusual part of our relationship.” He laughed dryly, “That’s the truth.”
The return to their hotel was uneventful, with the exception of stopping to pick up crepes for an evening snack.  Tony smiled at Ziva’s subtle pressure on Tali to get her preferred flavor, knowing that she would end up eating the majority of the pastry once her daughter tired of it. Little moments like that helped Tony to know that Ziva was really settling into her position in their little family. Once they returned, she set to helping Tali get ready for bed while he checked their plans for the next day.
“Everything looking alright?” she asked, sneaking up behind him as he worked. He jumped only a little this time, responding, “Looking good. Just needed to return a couple emails. Kiddo in bed?” Ziva nodded, “She was exhausted. We had a big day today.” He smiled warmly, “We’ve got another big day tomorrow.” “And you… meant what you asked me earlier?” Ziva asked, almost shyly. For a moment, he considered playing dumb and asking her to clarify her question, but seeing the way she was looking at her feet convinced him to do otherwise.  He reached out for her hand, holding it in his and tugging to draw her closer. She looked up at him, “I absolutely meant it, Ziva. All I want for the rest of my life is to make you and Tali happy. I want to protect you guys and… I mean, being a dad is the greatest thing to ever happen to me, but I’ve gotta admit that being your husband would be right up there with it.” She smiled again, the bashful, youthful smile from before. He tugged her down and pressed a kiss to her lips.
