I am surprised and kind of not surprised at all by how undeniably bad Hyrule's politics are

Like there is a demon knocking at your doorstep every decade or so

And instead of creating a system of actually destroying the demon again and again

You just throw your daughters at the problem and wait till a little blond boy comes and saves you

Like why is the whole kingdom so underprepared for calamity ganon

They had 10.000 years to prepare for it and instead chose to procrastinate till they had less then a year left and only then did they try to find a way to fix the situation

Like telling Zelda to get on and start zelding would have been useful when they had several thousands of years to prepare

But only like 17 years without a link to be found

Is just stupid they should have recovered the divine beasts the second that Zelda came to be or even earlier like several hundred years before the reawakening of the calamity

But that also makes total sense for a kingdom that won’t stop sacrificing daughters and relies entirely upon a single man (most Times a boy even)

And that is so fucking hilarious and pathetic

Like if I was an outside observer

I too wouldn’t want to involve myself into such a mess

Steve Harrington - Anatolian Shepherd

I debated a few options for Steve (lion, deer, etc) and definitely went back and forth more than a few times on this decision. But I think this feels right for the story I want to tell.

Anatolian Shepherds are livestock guardian dogs, they may not be as individually formidable as some large wild predators, but they protect their flock and they are far from weak.

Billy Hargrove - Jaguar

Max Mayfield - Bobcat

I'm definitely not sure about this. I also like the idea of a fox for her.

Eddie Munson - Manned Wolf

Did you know Manned Wolf pee smells like weed? Zoos have been raided by police bc of this.

There are many reasons my interests are more geared towards mediaeval Scotland than mediaeval England, but at least one of them has to be the fact that I am completely incapable of Being Normal about the Lion in Winter and Shakespeare's second tetralogy.

#Like I simply could not remain unbiased #Not in a 'taking sides' kind of way but more in a 'the real Henry II did not entirely resemble this fictional adaptation'#I refuse to accept it and I don't really want to #I could try very hard to research and write about Henry II sensibly- and I often do when he (or Hotspur later on) impinge on Scottish histo #But fundamentally my image of Henry II is the image of the character from the Lion in Winter #It's horrible to have to admit I'm like one of those unhinged Braveheart or Philippa Gregory people but for twelfth century England #Although with all due respect the Lion in Winter and Henry IV Part 1 are obviously twenty times better than Braveheart #There are other reasons #I kind of feel England has enough people interested in it already #I like to dip in occasionally and it's interesting to read about (and often necessary from a Scottish perspective)#But yeah for many reasons mediaeval England- though fascinating- is not my number one priority #One of the pretty big reasons is though my unfortunate fan behaviour the minute Richard II sits himself down on the ground #To tell sad stories of the death of kings #And you know what that's valid and probably acts as a useful research tool for many people #Just not for me #It's weird though because other than Shakespeare and the Lion in Winter there aren't many period dramas I particularly care for #Not only am I incredibly picky about my historical media when it comes to the Middle Ages (less so for the 20th century)#But I never really understood why people assume when you say 'I like history' you mean 'I like period dramas'#To me these are two separate unrelated activities/hobbies #Not necessarily better than each other just different

"when will they make the emperor's new groove into a live action movie" my opinion on this is hopefully never but they should make it into a broadway musical. and disney should release professional recordings of all of their musicals. <3

#yes the original movie is not a musical #but that's what would make it fun and unique!!#and also even when the original movie IS a musical #putting it on broadway is just 1000x better than making it into a live action movie (see: aladdin. honestly the thing that baffles me the most about all the disney “live action” remakes is that they won’t touch the live action adaptations that not only existed long before their remake plans, but have been WILDLY successful!!!

the theater/broadway adaptations of beauty and the beast, the little mermaid, and the fucking LION KING??
