The Goodsmile MODEROID Scherazade from The Vision of Escaflowne is a great representation of my favorite design from a show I should really go back and finish some day. I've been a bit wary of the MODEROID line because back in the day I made a Dougram kit from Goodsmile that was kinda bad in a lot of ways. But this kit is very and has a unique feel to it. They give you a lot of cape options, and my favorite to pose is the fabric one.

MODEROID El Dora V (Gun X Sword)
I still am not entirely sure where El Dora V comes from? I think I remember seeing an old Vachidra video on YT of its transformation sequence? But I remember hearing it was from a video game? IDK.
Anyway, I just have to tell you the names of all the individual robots, because they are hilarious: Grand Header, Body Gander, Power Hander, Nice Footer, and Pink Amigo. Wow. Gotta love when Japanese people with a partial understanding of English decide to give English names to stuff. And that is not some backhanded slight, I legitimately love names like this.
The Good: This is a really good kit. Five small builds, so it's easy to pace out and never feels like a lot. All the individual robots look great, and the two robot modes look great, too. The transformation to said robot modes is also pretty solid. Like a lot of Moderoids, it comes with swappable parts to make it more screen accurate, but it's fully transformable without them.
El Dora V also is also quite posable, despite being made of five small robots. It also has a lot of effect parts. And it does one of my favorite things; the display stand can store everything. All the unused accuracy parts, all the effect parts, the smaller robot's head, everything. It's great.
The Bad: My only real issue with El Dova V is Nice Footer? It's not bad or anything, but it has a somewhat disappointing transformation compared to everyone else. Those grey pieces on the front of the legs require quite a bit of partsforming, and it's not terrible, but when you compare it to everyone else it's just a feeling of "you were so close."
The Details: This was another simple kit, detail-wise. I panel lined all the areas where I could, and actually used the stickers. It really came down to the giant stickers on the wings, as white is notoriously obnoxious to paint, and there were very few stickers apart from that anyway, mostly just coming down to the cuffs on the second pair of wrists, and the eyes on the birds.
Overall, it's a fun transforming robot kit. I don't know anything about Gun X Sword, so I have no attachment to this apart from what I've handled, so I can say that if this looks like something you'd normally be into, you'll probably enjoy it and its very silly names.

Capitalism Really Popped Off Today: Moderoid Edition
Moderoid had their Summer Mecha Impact fest, and they really just decided I didn't want my money anymore. They just decided to announce they're going to do a model of one of my favorite giant robots of all time, Volkein.
Oh, and because teasing Volkein wasn't enough, Moderoid decided they were going to take a swing at making a Getter One & Gunbuster that can transform...
Because having models for the Ingram as well as the Rune Gods really wasn't enough to make a plastic crack addict like me sweat, right?

MODEROID Ikaruga
I built the chariot. I wanna talk about it, so I'll be trying to fit in the Knights & Magic Moderoids where I can. Which is fine with me because Knights & Magic is one of my favorite anime, and I don't really get to talk about it that much.
If you've never seen it, it's a very fast-paced isekai where the first two-thirds of the show are all about designing and building giant robots, and the last third is having fun with them. It's like a full-scale medieval Gundam Build. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it.
The Good: This is a pretty perfect sculpt. While it does simplify the colors, all the details are present if you want to paint it. It also has a lot of joints, and a bunch in the arms, specifically.
The Bad: Because of that simplification of color (something a lot of other Moderoids don't do), it's very boring without paint or using the decals. It also doesn't hold together very well, with the legs constantly popping off, and other body parts easily coming loose with time.
The Details: I built this one a while ago, so I don't remember what I was thinking at the time, but I only panel lined and used black fill on this kit. If some of the later ones are any inclination, it might be I was frustrated with it? As I said, this kit is very boring without the decals, so I added all of them on this release.
Overall, this isn't the best kit, but there aren't many other options if you're a fan of this series, like I am. With patience, you can get it into that one pose you like and let it sit, but know it might be a bit frustrating to deal with going in.

MODEROID Valimar, the Ashen Knight
My first plamo in a while, from one of my favourite series, The Legend of Heroes (Trails/Kiseki series). The fact the model exists is a dream come true, as I wished for a model of Valimar ever since I first saw him in the game.
Unfortunately he is a major pain to paint for accuracy. There is almost no colour/parts separation. Out of the box he is just grey and graphite grey/black. This involved a lot of time, masking, and even more patience.
I really hope that Goodsmile improves for their future Divine Knight releases.
