Mistigram: and if that previous mosaic wasn't enough #ANSIart for you, here's a weird coincidence -- in the final week of preparing the spooky new MIST1024 collection, we start seeing posts of creepy #textmode art shared to X at high volume by someone with the utterly bizarre name "Pizzatoe", and invite them to make a guest appearance. Turns out it's a whole new ANSI crew from an unexpected place taking their first steps in sharing their work outside their circle! Three of them, Amy, Jackey and Momo, shared a wealth of thematically-appropriate and formally-relevant pieces in this new artpack. Here are a few of them! Keep your eyes peeled for more from this dynamic cadre!

Mistigram: Everyone knows that a cat has nine lives, but conversely, the name of @littlebitspace's screen here featuring the sinister feline reflection is "9 Deaths". It won first place in the Extended Text Art compo at the recent @flashparty.ar demoparty, and was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: there was never any doubt that this was going to be the first individual work from the creepy new MIST1024 artpack collection showcased, not least because it was the earliest piece of haunting art to stake its Halloween claim in our incoming directory, nearly a year ago. This #teletext screen, "Doomscroll", whose test pattern resonates sinisterly with Poltergeist and Videodrome, is a collaboration between two modern masters of constrained semigraphics, @littlebitspace and @atonalosprey.

Mistigram: you can practically feel the texture of old dry bone beneath your fingertips looking at this custom #PETSCII illustration of a #skull by @littlebitspace. What's with the glyph drawn on its forehead? And why is it described as a "mask"? Some questions are better left unanswered. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: "WE'RE READY TO BELIEVE YOU." The entrepreneurial parapsychologists in the #Ghostbusters were never above making use of mass media to economically get their commercial message spread far and wide, so @horsenburger likes to imagine that if New York City had featured a #teletext service in 1984, it might have run an ad a little like this one. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: all the whimsical old costumes rise from their graves at the bottom of the tickle trunk for one more night strutting and fretting across the stage on #Halloween. @kurogao96 shares their seasonal well-wishes in their #ASCIIart-with-#emoji style. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: this horrific #ANSIart image, like something off of a Garbage Pail Kids card, was the only submission @Mavenmob had for last month's spooky MIST1024 artpack collection... but it's a humdinger! In chat people were asking why the only word the image was tagged with was "bisect" and I ask you what one word would better describe what you're seeing here? Worst of all, Velcro Boy is _smiling_ as he's torn apart. It's a mess, is what it is.

Mistigram: RIP to actor #ShelleyDuvall, who died four months ago. @horsenburger has drawn a #teletext portrait of her somehow surviving an ax attack 44 years earlier as #WendyTorrance in Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of Stephen King's #TheShining. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: Moth (hi, @mothnox!) just dashed this off at the last minute so it makes for a strange specimen to make their world debut, but nonetheless, I admire its playfulness and technological bent, so I hope you all join me in appreciating the inverted message that the #Calculator #Ghost has to share with us. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: here is a sampling of some of the various #textmode and #semigraphics art formats and styles in use in the (frankly terrifying) new MIST1024 artpack collection, including #PETSCII, #teletext, #ASCII art and #ANSIart.

Mistigram: horned skull... bats... tiny jack o lantern pendant and backpack... autumn leaves... this devilish "evil girl" has all of the requisite seasonal accessories, and was drawn in #ANSIart by special guest Jackey of Pizzatoe and included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: there are certainly offputting political overtones to world events this evening, so this just might be the perfect image to pair them with, wallowing in distinct offputting political overtones of its own! This grim #teletext portrait of the #skeleton of #MarieAntoinette (whose head appeared to have been reunited with its torso at some point over the past 231 years) was drawn by @AtonalOsprey and included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: our guest Amy of #Pizzatoe keeps things Halloweeny with this spooky outsider #ASCIIart tableau featuring a couple of Jack o' Lanterns grinning in a blasted graveyard while bats flitter across the swollen orange harvest moon and Ghostface gets his witch's hat blown off by a stiff breeze. This piece was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: I've heard of "cat got your tongue?" but this is ridiculous. @horsenburger drew this #teletext adaptation of the stupefying poster art for Neil Jordan's 1984 movie #TheCompanyOfWolves. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: in the novel/manga/anime #Overlord, #Momonga remains logged in to a MMORPG during its shutdown, only to find himself trapped in the virtual realm, physically embodying his grim, skeletal avatar #AinzOoalGown -- depicted here in #ANSIart by @joel.hoksvard. This screen was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.

Mistigram: is it #teletext? Is it #ASCIIart? Yes. I'll tell you what it is: #vanitas. This #skull (in the sand, as the screen's title helpfully reminds us) is the handiwork of @atonalosprey (what did he do with the rest of the guy? You don't wanna know!), and was included in the spooky new MIST1024 artpack collection.
