Breathe, Tamara. She hadn’t stopped shaking since she’d heard of a firefighter being brought into emergency, had raced down from her department to see that it was exactly who she’d feared — Theo. She wasn’t allowed to see him, not yet, which had near caused an uproar from her. We can’t give any special treatment, Dr. Hayes. You’re not family, not legally. So begrudgingly, she’d been escorted back to the waiting room. It felt like an eternity she was drowning in the unknown until she had been joined by Jason. At least Theo had his brother there for him, while the rest of his crew returned to their duties. He’d reassured her and explained the situation, and it did ease her some; knowing that his injuries weren’t fatal. Even still, the thought of Theo being in pain had her heart aching for him. All she wanted to do was be there for him. Stupid protocols. Raising her fingers to her lips, Tam chewed away anxiously at her nails while Jace went to retrieve her something to eat and drink. As much as she’d been encouraged to, she wasn’t going anywhere. Tamara would stay there all night if she had to, especially since she had been told Riley and Lilly were taken care of, that they were with their aunty Tessa. It was going to be okay — Theo was going to be okay. She repeated it in her head like a mantra while taking slow deep breaths. There wasn’t technically any reason to worry; but until she saw Theo and spoke with him herself, she knew nothing would truely soothe her. Until then, she’d let him rest, and just… be there, should he ask for her. They’d have to listen, then.
