Stolen Hearts → Blackpink 5th Member
Synopsis: As time passes and their hearts are forever stolen, they’re drawn deeper into an unbreakable love.
Part 2 to Stolen Glances
Wc: 2.3k
They say you have three loves in your life: the first love, which is intense and exciting, full of passion and youthful energy; the second love, which teaches you about heartbreak and the complexities of relationships; and the third love, which arrives unexpectedly, steady and enduring, and is said to be your true, lasting love. For Mirae, Mingyu was her third love, and everything she had heard about this kind of love was starting to ring true.
With Mingyu around, life seemed brighter, as if she had spent years in the shadows and now the sun had finally broken through. He was the kind of man she had been waiting for her entire life, someone she felt her father, if he were still here, would have loved for her. Deep down, she believed he was watching over her and had sent Mingyu her way. He was almost too good to be true, yet here he was, making her world feel complete.
Mirae had always longed for someone like her father, a kind soul, a musician, someone who gave everything for the people he loved. In Mingyu, she saw all those traits. She admired how he could connect with anyone instantly, forming a sense of comfort effortlessly. He was the kind of person who made everything better just by being there.
Initially, Mirae felt so different from him, her introverted nature clashing with his extroverted energy. However, over time, Mingyu’s openness began to rub off on her. He helped her break out of her shell and see life in a new light, while she grounded him, showing him the beauty of quiet, intimate moments. It felt as though they were puzzle pieces finally coming together, perfectly fitting for the first time.
Despite their differences, their similarities deepened their understanding of each other. Both had spent their youth chasing dreams, and now they were living them. They understood the devotion required to achieve their goals and how to support each other through their demanding careers. They knew when to prioritize their groups and fans but also when to remind each other to take a break and relax, finding balance in both their work and relationship.
As they spent more time together, Mirae realized she had never felt such ease before. It was as if they had been together for years, even though it had only been a short time. Mingyu saw her, truly saw her. Normally, this might have frightened her, but instead, he embraced every flaw and imperfection. He never made her feel like there was anything wrong with her, which made her feel validated.
Despite her efforts to seek help, Mirae carried a lot of baggage. These issues affected her daily life, accompanied by a nagging voice that told her no one deserved to deal with her struggles. She preferred to write out her feelings and leave them behind, a habit that negatively impacted her relationships since she struggled to express her emotions directly. Though she was working on it, Mingyu’s open expression of his feelings made her worry about her own inability to do the same.
Being an idol, she had an unrelenting drive for perfection. She pushed herself hard, always striving to meet impossible standards, as if achieving excellence could somehow make up for the absence of her father. The immense pressure she placed on herself stemmed from a desire to make him proud and live up to an ideal she had constructed.
She hated being vulnerable and crying in front of others, yet she was someone who cried easily, whether it was from seeing someone else in distress, frustration, or being yelled at. Her mind urged her to maintain a tough exterior, but her heart remained vulnerable, causing her eyes to betray her emotions.
One night after a cozy café date, she opened up to Mingyu about her fears and insecurities. He listened silently, deeply understanding the weight of what she was revealing. It was clear that opening up was a challenge for her, but he felt a profound sense of gratitude that she was willing to be vulnerable with him.
Mingyu didn’t care about her flaws; in fact, her imperfections only made him like her more. To him, her struggles were not obstacles but parts of her that he wanted to embrace completely. He was determined to support her through them, and when he conveyed this to her, it brought her a deep sense of safety and the realization that he was the one who could truly make her feel safe.
As summer was ending, their relationship grew serious very rapidly. Mirae, usually cautious about moving too quickly, felt herself drawing closer to the idea of love with Mingyu.
Their first kiss happened after their fourth date, inside his car as he dropped her off. The dim lighting, soft music from the radio, and the lingering warmth of their date created the perfect setting. As they sat there, sad their evening was ending, Mingyu leaned in slowly, his gaze locked with hers, asking a silent question. Mirae gave a gentle nod, and they shared a soft, sweet kiss.
When they pulled away, both were blushing, their smiles widening as they made eye contact and said goodbye. Mirae hadn’t expected to feel like a blushing teenager again, but the kiss with Mingyu reminded her of the excitement and giddiness of kissing someone for the first time. It was a small kiss, yet it left her yearning for more. As the days passed, they grew more comfortable with each other, and soon, they were in a committed relationship.
The changes in Mirae were noticeable to those closest to her. She seemed happier and brighter, a stark contrast to her past relationships where she kept everything private. Mingyu was different. She couldn’t stop talking about him, whether it was a sweet gesture he made or a funny moment they shared. He was a constant presence in her mind and conversations. Her friends and family often teased her about it, but they were genuinely happy for her. It was clear to everyone that she was smitten, and it was a rare and wonderful sight.
Mingyu was equally smitten, and his members playfully teased him about it. They’d play Blackpink songs, dance along, and sing her parts, which always made him blush and smile. He was thrilled to be with her after admiring her from afar for so long. Now that she was his, he took every opportunity to brag about her and praise her. While his members sometimes found his constant adoration a bit much, they were mainly just happy to see him so content.
Mirae wasn’t sure when she realized she loved Mingyu; it just happened naturally. She never pinpointed the exact moment, but somehow, she was the first to say “I love you.” One cozy night, she invited him over for dinner. As they sat quietly watching a movie, she felt an overwhelming sense of contentment and looked over at him.
He was gently petting her dog Luna, who had adored him from their very first meeting. Luna rested comfortably in his lap, while Mingyu’s arm stroked the dog, and his other arm was wrapped around Mirae’s waist, giving her soft circles.
Noticing her gaze, Mingyu looked back and smiled, his eyes lighting up at the sight of her. She returned his smile and leaned in to kiss him softly, making him giggle.
“What's up?” he asked.
“Mhmmm, nothing,” she replied softly, leaning her head into his neck and letting it rest there.
“Now you have to tell me,” he said, giggling as he gently pulled her away so he could see her face.
“Mhm,” she whined, trying to nestle back into his neck to feel his warmth.
“Stoppp,” he said, softly grabbing her face with his hands. “Tell me.”
She looked up at him, and he leaned closer to her lips. “I love you,” she whispered.
Mingyu paused for a moment, his eyes widening before breaking into a grin. Luna, sensing the shift, hopped off his lap as he moved.
“You love me?” Mingyu asked, still holding her face with one hand and giggling.
She nodded, her cheeks puffing out as she waited for him to say it back.
“Thank you,” he said.
“Uh!” she said, playfully pushing his arm away and giggling as he grabbed her back, laughing.
“You didn’t say it back, wowww,” she said sarcastically, pretending to move his arms away and leave.
“I’m kidding,” he joked, pulling her close again.
As they settled down, she looked at him once more. He pushed her hair behind her ears and said, “I love you too,” before kissing her deeply.
After their first “I love you,” their lives sped up. Weeks turned into months, and despite their busy schedules, they made time for each other. Mingyu flew out to see her during her tour and supported her at Coachella. Mirae used her limited free days to visit him. Their efforts to stay connected despite their hectic lives demonstrated their commitment and reassured them both that their relationship was serious and worth every effort.
Their first anniversary fell on one of her concert days in Australia, and Mirae was saddened by their inability to celebrate together. Both were very busy, but Mingyu reassured her that they could celebrate another day. True to his word, they found a weekend when they were both free and spent it away in Paris, the city of love.
Their first actual vacation together was both extravagant and wonderful. Mingyu, being the romantic he is, ensured every detail was perfect, and his efforts made Mirae swoon. She didn’t care about the expense; she just wanted to be with him and relax. Yet, seeing him put in so much effort to make everything special made her feel truly loved.
The trip felt like a scene from a movie, a story she would one day share with her future children. They went sightseeing, explored various bars, and connected with locals. They slow-danced to street musicians at night, spent their days wrapped up in bed, and cherished every moment together.
As her tour came to an end and she returned to Korea, Mirae found herself increasingly immersed in Mingyu’s world. His members became her friends, and she enjoyed joining in on the playful teasing of Mingyu. Wonwoo, who lived with him, became a big brother figure to her. She often saw him during her visits, often cooking for him, and would invite him to join them for shows and games.
Mingyu also became more involved in Mirae’s life, growing close to her siblings and mother, as well as their significant others. She loved watching him laugh with her brother and sister and help her mother with cooking. His presence was refreshing, and her mother often praised him to Mirae, appreciating how he seamlessly fit into their family.
Their circles began to intertwine effortlessly, and both of them loved how seamless the transition had been. Her friends adored him, and his friends embraced her, all recognizing how well they complemented each other. It was clear to everyone around them that they were truly good for one another.
However, their growing closeness did not go unnoticed online. Observant fans and followers began to remark on how Mirae seemed particularly close with some of Mingyu's band members at various events. Speculation and curiosity about their interactions sparked discussions, with many wondering about the nature of their relationship.
Additionally, fans noticed how Mirae and Mingyu often wore similar clothing and posted similar styles, which fueled more speculation about their connection. While she tried not to let it bother her, the constant scrutiny and unfounded rumors occasionally made her resent her life as an idol.
At times, She longed for the freedom to stroll down the street with Mingyu without worrying about paparazzi. The only moments they could truly roam freely were when they were out of the country.
Though they loved each other deeply, the fear of their relationship being discovered loomed over them. She wished it didn’t have to be this way, but the reality was harsh, male idols who sought happiness and the women they chose to be with often faced judgment and scrutiny.
It wasn’t everyone, but even small rumors and fan ships had brought unwarranted hate her way in the past, simply for being close to someone. Despite her efforts to stay unaffected, seeing such negativity was disheartening. While she was content within her private bubble with Mingyu, the constant fear of their relationship being exposed weighed heavily on her.
Both of them worried about the potential exposure of their relationship, but they knew that if it ever came to that, they would never let others’ opinions force them to break up. They were deeply happy and in love, and they both had a strong sense that this was it, that they had found their forever person. Their hearts were irrevocably intertwined, and they knew they would never let go.
This was the love she had waited for, a love that had not only lifted her off her feet but had also left her heart soaring in a way she had never imagined. It was the kind of love that felt both exhilarating and comforting, the kind that made every moment with him feel like a dream come true. He was her forever boy, the one who had come into her life and made her believe in the magic of true love. With him, every day felt brighter, every challenge seemed manageable, and every moment was filled with a sense of deep, unshakeable happiness. This was the love she had always yearned for, and now that she had found it, she knew it was worth every wait, every tear, and every heartache she had ever experienced.
Mingyu was hers, and she was his. This was it. And she couldn’t wait to see what the future held for them together.

More resident evil 8 Au things!
First I think with Julieta if she infects food it will heal any infected person but it can only be safely eaten by people who are infected if you're not and you eat her infected food then you get very sick, so sick in fact that most people would die if it wasn't for the fact that Julieta still has her gift and heals them before they do.
I also appreciate your opinion on the Miranda and Mirabel experiment situation. Miranda is 100% obsessed with Mirabel and I do feel like as she got older it would get worse, Miranda barely tolerated her family when she first got them and only really got her family as a way to control/manipulate her more but I feel like after a couple years Miranda would start to get jealous of her family and become almost possessive of Mirabel because to her Mirabel is perfect and is so close to being the vessel for her child in her mind. Which made me have a thought what if in one of her crazy moments Miranda tried to create a new original vessel using a bit of Mirabel's DNA and a little bit of Eva's original DNA or maybe even some of her own, almost trying to recreate Evelyn but instead of just using purely her or Eva's original DNA she's hoping that mirabel's "perfect DNA" would counterbalance any imperfections that might happen and make sure that another Evelyn doesn't happen obviously it wouldn't work if she did it and if it would actually result in anything I not entirely sure probably not but it is something I could see her doing/trying to do. I would like your opinion on that though it feels like something she would do and it feels like a crazy/delusional thought she would have but how it would be executed and what exactly it would result in if it resulted in anything I'm still not entirely sure.
In my Au everything for Ethan stays the same up until after his done in Castle Dimitrescu except for the fact that when he first meets the Lord's mirabel is there. Ethan meets Mirabel again after he's done in Dimitrescu castle in my Au There are no Rose flasks so there is no moment between him and Duke telling him to "take a closer look" (I agree with you when that happened it pissed me off so badly.) instead what happens is that Ethan leaves the castle and is in that weird little area with the Duke and Maribel (who physically looks 20ish and will probably forever look 20ish) is there with the Duke (she's a little sad that he had to kill Alcina and her daughter's but she knows that he didn't have a choice). The first thing she does when she sees him is apologize for not finding him before anyone else had, her family had been rounding up The villagers from their little encanto to bring them to safety as fast as they could because they were told very late that the attack on the village was going to happen so they were also fighting off lycans at the same time, and while her family was doing that she was with Miranda convincing her not to split baby rose into separate parts. Which she was able to obviously do as there's no rose flasks instead she was able to convince Miranda that they have to put little baby rose in a weird blackmold-womb like thing so that Eva can be reborn. (It was the only thing Mirabel could think of at the moment to say that Miranda might actually go along with and she was desperate to keep Rose safe) so Miranda has rose in her weird house/church thing deep underground inside the weird Blackmold-womb thing. Mirabel tells Ethan all of this right then and there Ethan obviously being the great dad that he is wants to immediately go to Miranda and fight her but mirabel stops him because he's extraordinarily injured and tells him that she knows for a fact that Rose is not being harmed in it and that Miranda has truly lost her mind at this point and can't see that what is happening is not working and she basically forcefully takes him to her house to rest for a little bit. From there Ethan goes and fights Monroe (Mirabel told Ethan that Monroe would side with Miranda no matter what and would make his fight harder with her which he would) and then later Donna (it pains me to do it it really does but I can't imagine her being outside of the village she's just extremely unstable and I don't see her betraying Miranda like that). When Ethan goes to Karl it isn't to kill him/get the piece back of Rose it's to see if he would join them against Miranda which Karl was all for which made Ethan happy (big army) but then Karl started talking about using his daughter as a weapon and then Ethan was like "on second thought nevermind" Karl got insulted and then they ended up fighting so kind of like in the game but the reason Ethan was there was different. Also add in the fact that everyone in the family is helping him out along the way. At the end fight with Miranda and Ethan the family joins in except for Alma (she's too old and weak for that) who takes little baby rose and stands off to the sides and kind of watches them fight.
As always any and all artwork is appreciated!
YEAHHHH I LOVE IT‼️‼️‼️ this took way too long and. I apologize I got busy 😭
So, Julieta’s food, that would make sense <<333 glad we agree on that it heals infected people, I just wasn’t sure about regular folks, but it makes sense that they get sick I mean it’s a biological weapon essentially 💀💀
Miranda needs to get a grip, but we both know she won’t. I mean even after see what happened with Eveline, she was on some demon time. And Mirabel STILL wants to try again, like it’s insane to me how she can do this. Also, I do have an idea now that you mention Eveline. Maybe she’s tried several times to use Mirabel’s DNA. I think the first time might’ve been when she was 10 (because that’s when her daughter died, Eva was 10 I’m pretty sure), but it just. Didn’t work. She tried at least 2 more times, but it just didn’t work. Also think that at 10, Miranda kept Hawkeyes on Mirabel, because maybe she was half expecting something to happen to Mirabel like what happened to Eva lmaoooo 🗿 but the family is obviously against this. Julieta and Agustín especially. They already don’t like Miranda, but they find it so creepy that Miranda is so…obsessed. They are protective of her (as are the warm couple), and constantly clash with her.
I’m glad Mirabel was apple to convince Miranda to keep Rose in one piece. The Duke was soooooo annoying 🌚 I’m also glad she was able to convince Ethan to not do anything stupid and get him healthier than he was before. At least before he goes out and does some dangerous bs. He’s not Leon or Ada 💀 I do feel bad for Donna, but yeah, I agree that she’s still siding with Miranda, no matter how lonely she feels. It’s sort of sad if I’m being honest. Moreau, I have no sympathy for him, I just can’t muster any 🌚 And good on the Madrigals on helping him fight Miranda. They must have a lot of pent up rage and some major beef to settle 🧌🧌 W Alma for being moral support with Rose 🕴️🕴️
Art‼️‼️‼️ Just Mirabel tryna get Ethan to use common sense 💪💪

If talking about all your aus, in which Isabela and Luisa have the best relationship (as much as this word can apply to those two. Also not counting the newest au because Luisa is a toddler in there) And in which au they have the worst relationship?
Hmm… I’ve not really thought about it before.
On a scale of best to worst (not including Switcheroo AU or Actor AU):
Reincarnation, Ride the Cyclone - annoying sister banter
Facade, Fracture, Perfect Twins, Whispers - neutral
Luminous and Imperfect - bitchy
Modern - hatred
Royalty - Luisa wants to crack open Isa’s skull
Reincarnation is the best, but that might be a bit of a cheat answer. As it continues long after canon (remember they were well into their thirties when they died) - while most of the others AUs take place during the canon age time - so they had time to heal and gain more of an understanding of each other. They are still competitive and fight and annoy one another, but it’s very playful and there’s no hard feelings. Their relationship is pretty much the same in Ride the Cyclone though.
Royalty is the worst. They never spent much time together. Luisa is off leading their (cold family) side in the war for Isabela and basically hears that Mirabel was held captive, Isa didn’t do shit and subsequently, Mira died. Frankly hurt and pissed, Luisa switches sides and stops her army from fighting, allowing Dolores’ side to swarm the city and capture Isabela. Pay back is a bitch.

_________________________________________________________________
GOOD MORNING WONDERFUL AND GENEROUS UNIVERSE....I AM ON MICROBO.NET ABOUT&WITH THEIR NEW BEAUTIFUL PROJECT:''URBAN GEOMETRIES''.....THANK YOU MICROBO.NET....LOVE YOU!❤❤❤
<<The symbiosis was perfect but with many glaring imperfections>>
Claudio Parentela
_____________________________________________________________________
Urban geometries represent a fascinating field of investigation, which reveals the complexity and harmony inherent in the structure of our cities, which allows us to observe them from a privileged point of view, in search of a photographic vision. The basic idea is to explore the city in its entirety, constantly moving between the overall vision and the infinite details that compose it. This allows us to reveal surprising affinities between the particular and the total, almost in a fractal configuration: in every corner of the city a unique geometry is hidden, a play of shapes, colors and textures that are repeated both in the large urban panoramas and in the details more hidden and sometimes overlooked, but worthy of being investigated.
The images presented represent a couple that moves from the total to the particular: one of the two aims to capture the overall essence of the city, offering a panoramic, synoptic and inclusive look, the other instead tries to reveal intriguing, more personal details or details where the urban geometry manifests itself in a more intimate way to the gaze. We can therefore try to intuit the visual relationship between these two perspectives, with their mutual references, with the quotes that travel in both directions, with repetitions of the same geometry on a different scale, ultimately connecting the vastness of the city with its intricate wealth of details .

4D + Experimental Ideas
Here are some ideas that came up in our discussion during class:
Camera -> perspective -> reflecting what I see in the world
Projection on the corner of two walls -> animate so that the corner is where elements reflect. Make sure to consider angle and depth
Feelings? reflective emotions? -> how certain actions and object make us feel
p5.js sketches -> interactive pieces
mira -> using the reflective but transparent plastic to reflect an image that you can copy (here is an example of one)
Draw from instruction
Lake reflection -> imperfect symmetry -> related to bilateral symmetry in nature and how it isn't always perfect
Take aways
I evolved the mira idea into a drawing telephone activity. I think it would be very interesting to see how a drawing evolves after being sent around many people. I think for my 4D project, I'll set up a book with clear paper. I will draw the first image (ex. a butterfly wing). Then, the next person will try to copy what I've drawn on the other page. Since it's on clear paper, it'll be seen once the page is turned. Then, the next person will be able to copy the copy. I'll set it up so that there will be a divider that can flap between each page so that there won't be any confusion once the page has flipped (since they will be transparent). When the book is filled out, I will go through it and see how the drawing has changed. Since it's on transparent paper, it'll also be interesting to see how all the images overlap.
For the experimental project, I've decided to take the idea of drawing from instruction. I think the beauty of this is the some people will follow the instructions regardless of how it looks like, and others will try to adjust it a bit to make it look like a recognizable thing. If I leave some elements up to the person (ex. the size of a shape), the images will turn out even more unique. I'd like to see how each person can reflect my drawing. I'll have each page able to snap into a small binder so I can have a collection of all of them in one place.
I think that I'd like to make each project some sort of book variation, excluding 3D.

What horror trope are you?
AUs and some other folks under the cut.
Phoenix, Sparrow, Sierra:
the monster
it was not your fault– at first, at least. you can not help being the way you are. and even if you could, would you choose to change? they met you with torches raised and screaming mouths, the only choice you had was to flee. but you will not stay away forever. they whisper your name in fear, and you will make sure you hurt them just as much as they hurt you.
The Commander, Mira (both aus):
the sacrifice
a knife to your back is your first memory– it will also be your last. you cannot help but let things into your heart, such is your nature. time and time again, however, they hurt you and leave you to rot. but your heart remains open, and you continue to let more in. is it kindness, at that point, or is it sacrifice?
Sommer, Wolf:
the ghost
death is not the end for everyone. it certainly was not the end for you. something within you tethers you here, like a heavy chain, and keeps you from well-deserved rest. love, rage, hunger, fear– do you even remember what it was? you wander here, awake, and your body lies below, asleep. maybe someone will find your disturbed grave and grant you a proper ending.
Dead Fae Walking:
the lover
love has brought you to this place, and it will not let you leave. fear clutches you, constricts you, and it will have you killed– and yet, it is still no match for the bounty of your heart. you will try as hard as you can to protect the object of your affections. evil is nothing in the face of your warmth. even if you are successful in protecting your lover, that does not guarantee your own survival. your heart has doomed you, but what greater death is there than dying for love?
Voitto:
the haunted house
decrepit and falling apart at the seams; time has not been kind to you, has it? termites have nestled in your bones, and stray cats find comfort in your sinews. you may be victim to time and erosion, but your abandoned corpse remains a refuge for unwanted things. vermin and ghosts thank you. what greater kindness can there be than offering shelter?
#PHOENIX: ashes and broken glass#MIRA: imperfect perfection#ROMEO: hold onto hope#SIERRA: no mercy for the damned#VOITTO: when will this blood on my hands be washed away?#PIXIE: the forgotten soldier#SOMMER: a heart frozen over#WOLF: I broke my chains; I'll break you too#THE COMMANDER: never again#SPARROW: it's all a bit tragic isn't it?#headcanons: jot this down#uquiz#OKAY YOU KNOW WHAT#THERE'S SOMETHING TO BE SAID ABOUT ALL OF THE 'BAD TIMELINES' GETTING THE MONSTER RESULT#IDK WHAT BUT THERE'S SOMETHING

I can’t really get into what David does later in the comic but both him and Harmonia are kinda similar in a way?? But that’s what they hate about eachother, it’s like looking into a mirror constantly—David holds Mira to this impossible standard, he can’t view her as terrible or flawed because she’s the only thing that’s been Constant in his life (he’s delusional)
and that’s not to baby his character because he is a asshole at some points in the story, his taunts led to Reina’s downfall, his overbearing attitude led to Kim straight up running away because he’s just too much—recently I kinda looked back on how I was portraying these characters, and I was to clarify that they are flawed, I don’t think they’re horrible people but they are incredibly imperfect. David was raised with this mindset of perfection so he projects that onto the people around him, especially Mira
THAT’S why Harmonia and him are so similar because Harmonia thought she could mold Oceania into a leader, the next Queen of Organa, but failed miserably because Harmonia Isn’t a tutor, she’s a fighter. And she uses this excuse against Mira constantly, because she knows she can’t live with the guilt so she has to share it
ugh anyways sorry the AP lang student came out for a bit bye
SIGHHHH
Today I’m gonna be talking about Mira and David (shocker)
I don’t know why his character has such a chokehold on me????? Both of them kinda do at this point ?? Maybe it’s because they’re the healthiest relationship in the bm canon which is like 😭 really low standards
Like somebody please sedate me because they’re on my mind 24/7?? they kinda have this Romeo Juliet thing going on and I kinda love it because it reminds me of those old knight princess paintings because if we’re gonna be honest Mira deserves love??? Harmonia almost destroyed or has ruined her hair not once but TWICE in the span of like what 200 years?? Anyways they’re both emotional wrecks in the regency era of the lore and they just need to kinda vent to eachother I don’t know what this post was about but fuck Harmonia

Being Bruno’s Child Would Include… Pt. V
Went back to school getting busy again, but here’s part four. I swear I have a problem all of my headcanons turnout way longer than planned. The reader’s age is 10. Stay tuned for part six.
Parts: 1 2 3 4 5
Tag list: @jayleneblack @zzzzzzzzzzoom @bozowrites @meyocoko @dog-nature-fandoms @thebadasssass @crazykira @lost-lonnie @kenzi-woycehoski @venomsvl @mobuaddiction @raysreads @azzabynes @justagurlintheworld99999999 @queenotaku23 @alexwatchesandreads @silvereyedfreak-2654 @nonvocal-reverie @100b-cats @miyakana @bage-the-gabe (I guess if you want to be tagged ask in the comments?)
I couldn’t tag two users @breadglasses and @4rin4 here’s a link that should explain why.
You sat at the end of the table opposite Abuela. Mira’s side of the family, along with the Guzmáns, sat to your right. Antonio’s side, along with Julieta, to your left. You had the perfect seat to watch the chaos unfold. You always had been more of an observer.
You watched as Dolores began a train of gossip on her side of the table, curious as to what they were whispering about; watched as Luisa left to retrieve the piano, and Mirabel attempted to rush Mariano to propose.
That’s when the pain returned, flaring up in your head. In an instant, you were sent back.
You had been blessed with the gift of retrocognitive empathy. The ability to not only see into the past but gauge the true sentiments and emotions of the moments. You felt the joy of Antonio’s first moment in the sun, the frustration at Pepa’s wedding, the love in Javier's final moments with their partner.
You extended those feelings to the people who would travel with you. Mirabel laughed. Of course she did. She was basking in the witticism radiating off of the moment you had pulled her to. Valdovinos wept. You couldn’t blame her, her memory was ripe with sorrow.
You stood in the open arch entrance of the kitchen. Tía Julieta sat at the table, a small child you recognized as Mirabel, wrapped in her warm embrace. Mira had a look of complete and utter heartbreak. Tears raced down her cheeks and gut wrenching sobs tore at her chest. The rivers on her face flowed freely, spilling off her cheeks on to the white and gold dress she wore.
Beside you a little Luisa materialized, silently watching the scene unfold in the dining room. “Luisa, where’s mom? I need her.” Isabela said, appearing behind her.
“No! We have to be strong for mom, for Mira.” Luisa instructed, puffing up her chest to make herself big. Isa eyed her, then looked past her to Mira and Julieta. She pouted with a huff, then stalked off. Luisa looked over her shoulder at her little sister sobbing in her mother’s arms. “I have to be strong,” she whispered.
This moment had both no feeling and too many. This moment didn’t know how to feel. It was lost.
As Luisa left, you noticed, below her feet, cracks appeared on the tile. You knelt, extending a hand to touch one.
Your headache returned and in an instant, you were back. Luisa, crying, struggling to pull the piano through to the kitchen; Tía Pepa thundering, and Mirabella wrestling to retrieve a glowing green slab from some of Antonio’s coatimundi friends.
The night had not gone perfectly. The revelation that Mirabel was the focus of one of your Pa’s visions, one that warned of family’s destruction, had understandably distressed multiple members of the family.
While Abuela was concerned with hunting down Mirabel, Augustín was focusing on Luisa, and Camilo was calming down his mama. You directed your attention elsewhere.
It was really easy to consider the feelings of those showing visible signs of distress, (especially on days like this one). Those evading the conflict by holing up in their room, their feelings are more likely to be overlooked.
That’s why you found yourself in Isa's room. She has always been one of your favorite cousins. Top three, for sure.
You were the only one who regularly caught Isa’s "imperfections": you know she likes to play in mud, and that she has on point impersonations of almost all the family members, she wants to try cutting her hair short, and doesn’t love Mariano.
"Issy, impresionante prima grande! How are you feeling!?" (awesome big cousin). You called slowly, moving through the grand floral room. You always felt bad stepping on the flowers; Isa spent so much energy perfecting their arrangements.
Isabela, who sat on her bed, lowered from the ceiling. Even from where you stood, you could already tell she had been crying. She sat silently, hunched over with a sense of dejection. Seeing you, she stretched out her arms, “Come here, mi rayito de sol.” (My little sunshine)
Isa hugs are the best. “Please don’t be sad, Issy. Your sadness is worse than Tía Pepa's.” You snuggled against her chest, listening to her concerns and fears. You already knew how she felt about the high standards the family held her to.
“How are you feeling, rayito de sol?” She asked, running her fingers through your hair. Now it was your turn. You sat in her lap, letting her braid and decorate your hair, as you shared your own fears.
You felt bad for the things you were considering. The way you were feeling. “Issy, would losing our magic really be that bad?” You asked. You hid your face in your hands, feeling heat rise in your cheeks.
At that moment, her face fell. It didn’t read as disappointment, instead you read her reaction as one of understanding and sympathy. Her arms squeezed around you a fraction tighter, and you relaxed into her embrace so fully. "I'm sorry you have to marry Mariano…” you whispered. A smile sneaks out of the corner of your mouth. “And have his five babies."
With that tease Isabela kicked you out of her room, in the playful way older sisters do when they get mildly annoyed (you and Isa have a relationship comparable only to Nani and Lilo’s).
You turned to head to your own room, but found Antonio’s twin coatimundi standing in your path. “Oh, um, hello,” you waved. They had a glint in their eyes that made you… uneasy.
All the animals had only been invited to stay the previous night. Still, you knew the coatimundis could be trouble. They pickpocketed your tío Augustín, stole from Julieta’s treats and created trouble at dinner.
One jumped, perching itself on your arm, pulling at your sleeve. The other scurried behind you and attempted to nudge you forward.
“Tonito,” you called, walking across the planks to his tree house. “Tonito, your gift is amazing, truly, but I think you need to talk to the coatimundis about boundaries.” You continued, approaching your young cousin. You gently took one of the mundis, now perched on your shoulder, off and handed them to your cousin.
“They like you,” Antonio informed. You chuckle, smiling with your mouth closed, reaching up and scratching the chin of the mundi settled on your head. “There’s somebody they want you to meet.”
The coatimundis scurried from your head and Antonio’s arms off and up to the second level of the treehouse. Antonio gestured with his lips for you to follow. You tried to suppress your giggling, as you followed them up the tree, but ended up bursting into loud laughter.
As you reached the top of the stairs, sand, like a downpour of rain, piled on to the top of your head. “Why is there sand in a treehouse?” you squealed. Like a dog, you shook the sand, as much as you could, from your body. One of the coatimundis bounded back over to you, and with their little paws, attempted to help you wipe the sand from your eyes.
As your vision, fuzzy from sand, settled back into focus, you were able to make out the bright teal and vibrant embroideries of Miabel’s skirt.
“I’m sorry, Bruno’s vision suggests you’re gonna break the house.” Still wiping grains from your eyes, you moved to your cousin oblivious to what had taken place moments ago. “The future isn’t set in stone. Well, my Pa’s visions are glass soooo. Doesn’t matter. Glass or stone can be broken.” The coatimundis jumped and roosted on your shoulders. “Make your own future,” you smiled up at her, wrapping your arms around her waist. “Broken house or not, I’ll still love you. Tu mi familia, Mira.”
“Y/n.” The foreign voice startled you. You turned. There stood a man you expected never to see. Bruno, your pa. “You’re so big.”
You stared at the man across from you. You couldn’t help but try to hide behind Mirabel. At that moment, you felt like you were that small five-year-old again; standing at the front of the aisle, all eyes on you. Everything you wanted and feared out in front of you.
You had never moved so fast in your life. After saying a quick awkward goodbye to the two, you rushed past Bruno and out of Antonio’s room. You rushed to the kitchen and began rummaging through the cabinets.
Unbeknownst to you, the doors flickered upstairs.
At that same moment, stress once again flared up in your head. In an instant, you were pushed back again, only this time you remained in your place in the kitchen.
A screaming group of children ran into the kitchen from the patio. Mud coated their little bodies like icing on a cake. Flowers and grass tufts were the toppings on their earthy coating. The peace you had known mere seconds ago had been shattered by their running and childish screams of delight. All the Madrigal kids of the time Dolores, Luisa, Camilo, Mirabel, and even Isa paraded around the room tracking mud across the floor without a care.
“What is going on!?” Abuela’s voice sounded through the room, bringing the children to a stand still. You felt yourself go rigid at her stern tone. You noticed Isa across the room straightening her posture, placing her hands neatly behind her back.
“Abuela! Lores and Isa taught us ta make mud pies,” Camilo explained. Both he and Mira missed the clear look of displeasure on the adults' faces. Seeing her grandson’s wide toothy smile as he held up a mud pie in one hand and held onto Mira’s hand with the other, Abuela's face softened.
“That’s nice Camilo. Why don’t you, and Mira, and Luisa, and Dolores go get cleaned up for lunch?” She gently instructed. The four kids allowed their parents to lead them away, just as Isabela moved to join them Abuela stopped her.
To the best of her ability, Abuela knelt, placing her hands on her young granddaughter’s shoulders. “Isabela, you are the oldest child. It is up to you to set a good example for others and for the community.”
Now standing behind Abuela, you could see the slight widening of Isa’s eyes. She blinked back a frown, instead flashing a half-smile. One you recognized as false. “I understand Abuela, for the family. For Encanto.”
Abuela extended a hand, cupping it around Isa’s cheek. “Isabela Madrigal, an angel. Our perfect angel,” she stated.
The initial energy and excitement you’d absorbed at the beginning of the moment had vanished, leaving the occasion to feel hollow, empty, lost.
As Abuela spoke, cracks formed on the floor, beneath Isabela’s feet. The same as Luisa, they didn’t even notice. You don’t have time to investigate the fractures further, as the headache returns and you're brought back to the present.
The house shook. Hopefully not a reaction to what you’d just been through. Looking at what you held in your hand, you remembered what had led you to the kitchen in the first place.
You hurried back upstairs to Antonio’s room. “Tonito, where’s Mira and my… where'd they go?” You asked.
“They left.”
“Oh.” Your shoulders sunk. Your eyes fell to the plate in your hands, stacked as high as possible with food. The coatimundi came to your aid, hugging and nuzzling at your legs. “I thought he looked hungry,” you mumbled.
You left the plate with Antonio’s animals and went to sulk at the hall railing. Suddenly, vibrant plants of various colors burst forth from the ground, decorating practically every inch of the halls, ceiling, and walls included.
Isa and Mira fell past you onto a pile of flowers that erupted on the floor of level below. Their peels of laughter echo in the open room. It was nice to see them getting along.
Abuela walks in, not sparing a moment to make her displeasure and anger known. Unfavourably, at the same time, a sharp pain pierced your head. You let out a cry of pain, keeling over, and pressing your hands to the side of your head. Moments flooded, flickering in and out of your vision. It was as if your brain couldn’t decide which moment it wanted to occupy, and thus was trying to occupy multiple moments at once.
Camilo lamenting the fact that they’d been asked to be someone else for a friend’s party instead of themselves and being told, “it’s a Madrigal’s responsibility to meet the requests of the community; Crack. Pepa being told not to cry because she’d ruin the celebration, even though she’d just had her heart broken for the first time; Crack. Julieta attempting a new skill, and somebody remarking, “you should stay in the kitchen, you’re actually needed there”; Crack. Dolores over hearing that her gift is a curse, if only it was as helpful as Isabela’s; Crack. You crying in the nursery, in Mira’s arms. “Bruno is dead to us,” Abuela stated coldly. “We don’t talk about Bruno.”; Crack. “I wish I was dead.”; Crack.
The pain, the visions, it was too much. You felt the past fracturing as it tried to catch up. Then total numbness, your body went limp, as your head went silent.
You were too busy falling in on yourself to notice the casa collapsing around you. You were paralyzed by the onslaught of emotions that had all too suddenly been silenced. You couldn’t acknowledge Camilo rushing to move you from the path of falling rubble. You were helpless as he took in his arms and slid with you in his lap down a slide created by Casita.
For once, in the present, you felt like a ghost. Much like the past, you were powerless to change the moment you were now living in. You could feel the burning sensation as you gulped down a sharp lump of air. You felt hollow, lost; and it broke you.
You bit at your lower lip as your eyes welled up with tears. Your face turned red, and you felt wet, hot tears start to stream down your face. Body trembling in response to your onslaught of tears and choked up sob, you fell into the fetal position. You pulled your knees to your chest and buried your face down.
You didn’t care who saw you, your walls had been smashed, ground to a fine powder. You were a child, ten-years-old, vulnerable against the tidal wave that is trauma and grief.
Like the most perfect flower, like the rock of the family, and so many others you cracked under the pain.

Is Isabela always horrible to Mirabel in every AU? I just found your blog, so if I missed an AU with a nice version of Isabela, I apologize. Do you have any AUs where Mirabel has an amazing Gift and is basically in Isa's position? I'd love to see how Mira acts when SHE'S the one who's doted on and praised constantly. Would she still be a horrible person like Isa?
Your AUs are so fascinating. I'm glad this fandom isn't dead!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying them! Now onto answering the questions.
Isabela is rarely horrible to Mirabel in my AUs? I can’t think of a single AU where they genuinely hate the other. There’s usually just external factors, such as the golden child and scapegoat being put against each other/the first half of the film, which prevents them from having a good relationship - but there is always a nod that they do still care for one another, even if they can’t outwardly show it.
There are many gift swap and/or age swap AUs on this blog, which do occasionally put Mirabel in a more favoured position:
Fracture AU (a gift swap/giftless Luisa/Pedro lives) - she is the favourite/golden child
Imperfect AU (a gift swap/giftless Isabela/Pedro lives) - she is the favourite/golden child
Perfect Twins AU (gifted Mirabel) - she and Camilo are the favourites/golden children
Switcheroo AU (age swap/giftless Dolores/gifted Mirabel) - she is the favourite/golden child and to-be engaged
Lost and Found AU (gift swap/giftless Luisa/Patriarch Bruno) - she is not the favourite but she has Isabela’s gift
If none of these are exactly what you’re looking for, then do note that I accept suggestions. So you can always send something new in and I’ll make it!

Mira was so close to making it back to their quarters- Well, Magnas quarters, but they were one and the same so what difference did it make really? They wanted to see their sister now that they had the opportunity to do so before curfew. Maybe they'd still have time, depending on what this scientist wanted.
They tilted their head as they absorbed the Monarchs words, almost looking like a confused pup before speaking, curious eyes looking him over.
'Kind'? The phrasing didn't sit right with Mira, even if it was the same sort of language they were more than used to hearing. It was a sharp contrast to the more humane language their doctor used. Part of them itched at the implication, not that they let it show. No, they kept up their usual friendly demeanor, a light smile on their face.
Mira wondered when he'd be back from his family trip. Soon, hopefully.
"Perfection?" they echoed, eyes finally landing on the Monarchs own. "Isn't that just an ideal to strive for? It's a good goal but.. I don't think it's really possible for anyone to achieve." They answered, hands behind their back to hide their idle fiddling. "I mean, it's a good goal, but it seems like something easy to obsess over too."
They ran their fingers through their hair, unkempt from the physical training they were just coming back from, pushing the stray strands out of their eyes. They were still dressed in their training attire- all black with minimal bronze highlights, '01' stitched into both shoulders for identification, evidence, but outside of that, their appearance was awfully.. disheveled, so to speak. Uncontrolled.
But that was by design, an intentional choice made by their creator. Humans, with all their flaws, were imperfect creatures after all. To create two copies that lacked any perceived flaws, were a little too clean cut and put together,
Mira was an ideal, molded for their purpose since creation. Perfectly meeting that purpose required some degree of controlled imperfection. It was what made them seem so human.
❥ ❝The call, answered.❞ for @line-of-fire 's Mira ↩
"It is exciting, to see one of your kind from up close. An embodiment of perfection. Do you think you fit such criteria?"
#MIRA: a golden cage is still a cage (ic)#Mira vc: why are all these scientists fucking weirdos#father come get me I'm scared#did this get away from me?#maybe#once again muse strikes after two am

Encanto spoilers ahead, read at your own risk!!
So I watched Encanto on Friday when it came out on Disney+ and I don’t know if I’m the only one who wants this, but I would love to hear a reprised/altered version of “Welcome to the family Madirgal” that painted a more “accurate” portrayal of the family.
⬇️ Encanto spoilers below! ⬇️
What I mean by this is that I want to see a version that would have likely been sung post-movie, maybe like some weeks or months after Casita is rebuilt where some of the family members verses have been changed/fixed.
So for example:
I think Abuela Alma’s verse would be changed to probably point out her past controlling nature first, but then mention how she’s working to “loosen the reigns” on the family. To point out how she’s working to allow her families imperfections to actually shine through.
Next, Bruno’s verse would obviously have to be changed from portraying him as this “scary” figure, to maybe saying along the lines of, “his gift may seem scary, but he’s an amazing Tío!”. He deserves to be portrayed as the kind and awkward man - who loves his rats and his family - he is! 💕
Isabela’s and Luisa’s verses would both be tweaked.
I think Isabela’s would be changed to portray how she’s not really the perfect “golden child” that everyone believed she was. Instead I think it would portray her as a normal 22 year old who loves growing funky plants, and dying her clothes fun colours!
And I think Luisa’s verse should 100% bring to light that she’s more than just brute strength. Like yes, she’s strong and enjoys weight lifting and such, but that’s not her entire personality. She also likes unicorns and hugs and can help others in so many other ways than just heavy lifting.
Of course Antonio’s verse would change from stating he’s getting his gift to explaining what his gift is. I think maybe there would also be mention of his shyness, but that’s not too necessary to his verse
And lastly I think that the whole bit of Mirabel avoiding talking about herself would be replaced by her entire family singing about Mirabel! I think it would be really sweet to have a whole section of the song actually including Mirabel in the family and having her family describe her similarly to the last few lines from “All of you”.
I think Mira deserves to be included in a way that doesn’t portray her as “the odd one out” or “not as special as the others” just because she doesn’t have a “gift” like the others. Similarity, Bruno’s verse should stop portraying him as some scary and forbidden figure, and actually portray him as the loving uncle who adores his family, rats, and acting who’s more than just his gift.
I’m not sure if Pepa, Julieta, Augustine, Félix, Dolores, or Camilo would have much room for verse changes, but if anyone can think of something then I’m all ears!

thoughts about encanto!! spoilers under the cut:
ISABELA SUPREMACY Y’ALL!!! I’M JUST SAYING I STILL STAN
luisa’s song was so good with the visuals?? you could really see her buckling under the weight of everything that had been piled onto her shoulders. luisia’s character in general was lovely. when mirabel and isa both hugged her at the end... my beloveds...
mirabel broke my heart a lot and was definitely a relatable and lovable protagonist. her relationship with antonio was adorable.. i loved them both
speaking of antonio.. what a precious angel.. when he gave bruno his stuffed jaguar that mirabel gave him ‘for nerves’.. WAHHH WHAT AN ANGEL I HOLD HIM GENTLY
bruno.. you poor guy. my heart broke for him and i want him and mira bonding even more. i knew i was right!! he left to protect MIRABEL, i called that shit.. but ugh.. the scene with the dinner table and the plate carved into the wood... with his NAME ON THE PLATE STOPP I CRIED HE LOVES HIS FAMILY HE MISSES THEM SO MUCH
all in all though he was such a goofball and i loved him
the way julietta and pepa didn’t even hesitate to hug bruno at the end despite all of the propaganda about him.. shows that in the years since he was missing they really just.. forgot what he really meant to them
the dinner scene? perfect. absolute chaos and i loved it all lmfao.. poor mariano.. mans really suffered. had his nose broke with an errant vine.. meanwhile luisa’s sobbing in a corner and everyone is playing chinese whispers about the magic dying and losing their minds
camilo’s eyes goggle-eyed sent me.. and wHEN HE GOT A BABY HEAD HELP LMAO
WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? BEAUTIFUL, STUNNING. seeing how isabela and mirabel’s relationship changed through that scene... augh.. ‘you’re a bad influence!’ the fond way isabela said that my heart.. i just KNOW they were close before mirabel failed to get her gift..
i liked abuela alma more than i expected to. still wanted to throw down when she blamed mirabel for the magic dying though
the dos oruguitas scene?? heartbreaking. i knew it was gonna hit but.. i cried really hard. didn’t stop until the end of the movie pretty much.. i thought i was calming down until they gave mirabel the doorknob AND HER FAMIYL STARTED SINGING ABOUT HOW BRAVE AND BRIGHT SHE WAS UGHHH
they kept in the fucking incest joke help
dolores deserved more scenes. highkey mad they removed the scene where she runs into antonio’s room to save him when the magic is dying but.. alas. she’s so cute tho augh i adore her.. and i love how isabela and mirabel plotted to get her and mariano together bgfbfg
SPEAKING OF... seeing lusia able to relax at the end of the film, and isabela was so HAPPY and planting new things and just giddy while she was doing it.. augh
THE LAST FAMILY PHOTO BEING IMPERFECT.. I LOVE IT
basically i adored this film.. such a fun emotional trip..
