Rant Dabi’s fate

Ok buckle up guys because I’m gonna make a fucking long rant about the last chapters leak 387 and talk about the HOLY SHIT HORRIBLE TAKES ABOUT DABI’S FATE. I have so much to do, but the brainworm is so strong I need to let it out to continue working in what I’m doing SO

Let’s talk first about the: is the best for Dabi’s arc that he and Endeavor died like this (hugging each other if a hell of flames while Endeavor is sacrificing himself for the greater good)

Is it????? IS IT?!?!? 

Besides omiting that Rei is right there in the end of the chapter, let’s talk about how that would play out in the future, because let’s recall this is Midoriya telling the story to someone, and is the story about “How we became the greatests heroes” 

Direct future of Endeavor and Dabi dying: Shouto arrives, having the fucking speech of the century by All Might, All Might after calling Dabi by his name for the first time, Shouto arrives for what he thinks is his second chance to save his brother (oportunity that NOBODY else of the villains has) only to see that he dies, and not only his brother that he wanted so desperately to save died, but also his father that has in trying to redeem himself, also dies. AND NOT ONLY THAT, but his entire family is seeing it and see how they die.

What good does this to Shouto? To his mom? To Natsuo? To Fuyumi? 

Fuyumi who wanted desperately to have a family again together, Natsuo that had a connection so strong with Touya that is the first one to mention him in the story and who hates his father guts for everything that came from his abuse, Rei? Holy shit, Rei who was in a psyquiatric ward for 10 years, who wasn’t even able to say goodbye to her eldest son when he “died”, who slowly has working on talking again with her children a better way and has the guilty conscience of not helping them as she could when they were kids, to see her eldest son die again because of that same mistakes, because they didn’t have the chance to prove him that things have change

And Shouto? Starting from the abuse he endured, having a broken family, hating his dad, and when finally things seems good, comes Dabi’s Dance and the revelation, that is the lowest point of the Todoroki family and that they have to get united to do something about Touya, so you know want to add, that after lifting his spirits and all, he can’t do anything to save Touya AND his father? 

“We have to prove that you can’t save everybody!” 

And what was Nighteye? Midnight? Twice? Shirakumo? All dying and the ones close to when it happened were the kids, Ochaco has a guilty councience of not doing more, Momo and the others that saw Midnight’s body, Tokoyami seeing Twice body. Shirakumo dying to young and giving Aizawa and Mic trauma. 

Does Shouto needs to add that too??? Not only my father was an abuser, my family broken, my brother became a murderous villain, and EVERYBODY knows about it, but also you wanna add that his brother and father died in a murder suicide?????

I MEAN WTF PEOPLE. What kind of message you gave of “being the greatest hero” you give with that? If I was Shouto after that I would lose all hope of anything. Probably the Todoroki family couldn’t be together anymore, all too broken so address like “yeah we couldn’t save them, but let’s try be together!” HOW?!?!?!?

Let’s talk about the two main characters in here: Touya and Endeavor.

Endeavor hasn’t learn his lesson. NO HE HASN’T. He isn’t seeing Touya, he is seeing a mistake he did many years ago that has come to haunt him. He is seeing Touya just as villain and not as his son, and his response is of a hero with no connection with the villain: I will sacrifice myself for the greater good. But is not one of a father: I will save my son. Endeavor sees Touya too far gone to save him. 

And then Touya, “oh yeah his ideal suicide is the best outcome for him!” Is what I have read SO MANY TIMES that is like ?????????? “He hates his family so much!! and didn’t care about what happened to them!” He has an obssecion about killing his father for 10 years, of course he is totally not in the best mind, and for what it seems, he doesn’t hate his entire family, he stills adress them with nicknames and honorifics (calling Rei, mom still). He is too far in his rage that if killing his siblings brings pain to Endeavor he is ok with it. I’m completely aware of that. Do I want to say that they will talk happily and then go be a family again? No, he probably will end in a psyquiatric ward for so long and his family will visit him and see if that connection can be restored again. People saying that Dabi’s suicide is the only thing that will bring him peace is like????? Like in the chapter he isn’t even aware of where he is, he is in such a delirious state that thinks Natsuo is there. His body is moving in rage instict and that’s it, so he probably isn’t completely aware that he is killing Endeavor. 

But let’s also talk what would happen outside on the hero society if this happens: Endeavor will be seen as an even GREATER hero!!! Do you think civilians will care about his past anymore? No! This is the easiest way for him to redeem himself. The only people that will know the story is the Todoroki’s and those close to Shouto, Endeavor will be a symbol of selfsacrifice for the greater good, and the hard choice of killing himself to “save his too far gone” kid and save half of Japan. 

“Oh yeah, is sad that he abused his family, but hey he saved all those people during the war! That counts for something?” Is probably what would happen

So Touya dies barely aware that killed Endeavor and this makes that his abusive and awful father gets more famous and important than before. 

Yeah great ending for Touya. 

And don’t get me started the people saying that Rei will die with them. Srsly people?!?! 

We add everything that I said and worst things from it. 

I don’t know what will happen, and I’m sure that I don’t want Touya and Endeavor to die. It doesn’t make anything to the story and to the Todoroki’s family arc.

Because yes, is not Touya’s arc, Endeavor’s arc or Shouto’s arc. Is the whole family’s arc

Touya will be mad when he is back to counciousness that he was saved and Endeavor is also live. Oh yeah, completely. Will they go to be all happy family when all is done? No, probably not. But they both dying doesn’t add anything to the story.

I don’t know how it will end. But I just now that that isn’t it.

Absoloutly nothing could have prepared you for the day where Todoroki Touya was finally consumed in his own flames while killing Endeavor. And there was nothing you could do, you couldn't stop it, no matter how much you wanted to.

Before the first war, and his performance on Live TV revealing himself as Touya Todoroki, he told you before the war was set in place, including his goal, his revenge, to finally to kill Endeavor, like he always wanted since the birth of Dabi.

You knew it would be inevitable, you couldn't stop him even if you tried, but you also didn't want to stop him from achieving his goal even if it meant you were gonna lose him. It was hard, taking in the news. Knowing at one point in another he'd be as good as gone, so much so he'd be consumed in his own flames into his own pile of ashes. And didn't that just make your heart hurt and ache at the thought?

At that time, it was just you and Touya in a room, both of you having not seen eachother in a while due to Touya being busy with the liberation Army and Shigaraki, prepping for War. Touya decided to climb through your window at the midst of Midnight to give you one of the most hardest talks you'd ever had. It was sad, really, but it was the reality of being a villain, you supposed.

From Touya's uncomfortable body language and his head looking down, you could tell it was difficult for him to even talk about, especially when it came to speaking about his goal, revenge against endeavor. It was the same to you, the room you two were in full of silence.

Silence that'd never felt so incredibly loud.

You were just taking in everything he'd said, and it made sense, everything made sense, but it was all just so sad. It made sense why'd he'd want to kill Endeavor, the monster who hurt his family and put them through hell, creating children out of Rei for the sole purpose of wanting a child with a perfect quirk. And when he did, he simply just threw Touya away, who wanted his attention and ended up burning himself in sekoto peak, who would later be birthed as Dabi all because he wanted his attention, who wanted to be a hero exactly like his dad.

But that never happened, Endeavor just leaving Touya behind for his baby brother, Shouto. And now, they were here, sitting on the opposite sides, talking about everything happened, and Touya's goal that would be inevitable to prevent.

It just all made so much fucking sense.

It was hard, so difficult with your own ears to hear Touya, your Touya, would be dead in achieving his own goal.

For a moment, you felt numb, not feeling anything at first as you were taking everything in. Your pupils dilated, your eye color taking over as you could feel your heart thump in your chest, which hurt as your heart could be felt beating hard in your chest, knowing it was both of your anxiety and heart breaking, your hands gently closed into fists on your thighs, trying to control your slight heavy breathing, biting your lip and looking down, trying so hard not to cry. You couldn't do that to him. You couldn't. You couldn't hurt him like that, he was already hurt enough. You didn't want to make him feel worse.

Too deep in your heavy thoughts, you didn't hear the footsteps walking towards you, being out of your thoughts with a soft, deep voice you could easily recognize.

Only Touya would be that soft with you.

"Hey, Hey, Baby look at me," the scarred man spoke, his hand gently taking yours and squeezing it as you looked up to him, starting into his gorgeous ocean eyes that oh made you so weak.

"I need you to breath with me, okay, babydoll?" Touya spoke again, still squeezing your hand to confirm you were still with him as you nodded your head gently, your breathing still feeling heavy,

"Gently breathe in slowly through your nose, and count to four, slowly," Touya instructed, and you did as said, breathing slowly through your nose, then slowly counting to four. Touya smiled, rubbing your hand softly, "You're doing so good for me, babydoll," he smiles softly, before instructing again, "Now make sure to keep your shoulders down and to allow your stomach to expand while you breathe in, and hold your breathe in for a moment," Touya instructed again, doing just that, making sure to keep your shoulders down and relaxed, allowing your stomach to expand as you breathed In, while holding your breath only for a moment.

The villain in front of you spoke again, "Now release your breath, slow and smooth, while you count to seven," He said softly, while continuing to rub your hand gently and give it a gentle squeeze, encouraging you as you did so, releasing your breath smooth and steady, while you counted to seven.

You finished counting to seven, and you'd had to admit, you felt...lighter. Though, it wasn't quite enough to erase the heartache you felt, but you definetly felt a lot calmer than you did before.

"How do you feel, babydoll?" Touya asks softly, still rubbing your hand softly, looking at you as you looked back at the villain who was absoloutly soft for you, "lighter, definetly lighter," you quietly spoke, while you sniffled, you could tell tears were forming in your eyes, Touya taking notice as he gently stood you up, "c'mer," He says, bringing you close and wrapping his one arm on your waist, the other gently resting your head on his chest, his head resting above yours.

That's what finally broke the damp.

Tears burst out as you sobbed, you cried into his chest as he held you a bit tighter, while he rubbed your back for a while as he let you cry.

He managed to calm you down a while later, his fingers brushing through your hair calmly, your sniffles the only thing that fed the silence.

"I'm sorry," You suddenly said, voice strained and hoarse from a long while of crying, "I didn't want to make you feel bad or prevent you from completing your goal," you'd admit as Touya's hands gently cup your face, his thumbs wiping your tears, his eyes staring into yours,

"Babydoll," He quietly says, "You have absoloutly nothing to apologize for, so don't apologize, y'hear me?" He asks, firmly but gently as you nodded slightly, Touya still cupping your face. "Second of all, you're not making me feel bad or preventing me from achieving my goal," He continued, "I promise," He says, as you looked into his eyes and sniffled again,

"You promise?" You'd ask, your voice strained again, as he placed a kiss on your forehead, "I promise," Touya whispers as he holds you close.

For a little while longer, it was silent again, before Touya spoke. You'd wish it last forever.

"But this is something I have to do, I have to take down my old man, and that means I have to take him with me to the grave," Touya says quietly, while your heart ached even more from hearing it from Touya himself as your lips quivered, Touya continuing to brush your hair with his fingers for comfort.

"I don't know how I'll live without you gone," You admitted with a trembling voice, Touya lifting your face by your chin and giving you a soft, gentle kiss, before his face softened, looking at you. "You'll be okay," He whispers.

Touya then thought of an idea, letting you go, confused, of course, he took off his famous leather jacket he was known for wearing as the Villain 'Dabi', wrapping it around your shoulders and looking down at you,

"Keep it," He says, as you looked at the leather jacket that was now given to you, it had his scent on it, looking up at him. "My last gift to you to remember me by, Babydoll," He says soberly, as your lips quivered and trembled again, Touya bringing you in for a hug.

"I'm going to miss you so, so much, Touya," You cried, and oh if that didn't break Touya's heart, who thought his heart was burned years ago back at Sekoto Peak. "Me too, Babydoll," He whispers quietly, and he wouldn't admit it, but if he head the tears instead of the blood dripping down his face from his stables, he's be crying.

"I love you, Touya," You said with your trembling voice, "I always will," you finished, the blood slipping down Touya's staples became heavier as he was silent, before he replied, with his first and last "I love you more, Babydoll," He quietly says, blood from his staples now over his shirt, continuing to hug you for the remainder of the time you had with him.

That was then.

Now, you were in your apartment, which was lucky enough to be far away from the second war that was currently going on, news reporters flying in a helicopter above where the war is happening on the battlefield, currently filming the most bloodiest fight fought yet between Endeavor and Touya- who no longer looks the same as he once looked, his entire body burnt flesh and his legs now exposed to the bone.

Watching the fight made you wanted to puke, cry, scream, because you were watching Touya burn in his own flames, as well as endeavor, you were watching Touya die right in front of your own eyes.

You clutched Touya's leather blue jacket to your chest, watching as Todoroki Touya was being extinguished into ashes along with Endeavor.

And now, Touya, your Touya, was gone.

Touya Todoroki, The Late Villain Dabi, was no more.

He was as good as gone.

Now all that was left was his Leather Jacket, and you, who sobbed into his jacket, giving a heartbreaking curtailing scream of grief.

Touya Todoroki was gone, gone, gone.

This was now.

A/N:// AAAAAAAAAAAA writing this was so painful oh my GOD 💔 *Flips table* I CANT DO THIS TODAY NO I REFUSE TO BELIEVE HE'S GONNA DIE AHDJSJSJSJ- Okay, but seriously, if you read this, thank you so much! I apologize if it doesn't make you as emotional or cry, I want to be able to practice storytelling and to be good at storytelling at some point...also, for the anxiety portion I deal with it myself, so I typed out that anxiety scene with the heart hurting the chest thing based off of my own experience. I guess not yet. But on Twitter they say that it's mentioned in the conversation panels between Mr. Compress and Geten.

It was largely assumed because of the ice quirk. I trust Twitter on this but to get proof we will have to wait for the English translation.
