Posting Instructions

Posting will start on March 26! Below the read-more cut are instructions on how to post your work to the AO3 Collection we set up, and what to include in your tumblr masterpost that we will reblog on your posting date. If you have any questions, email us, send an Ask, or contact one of the mods in our Slack! 🍆🍆🍆

Posting dates:

There will be several stories posted each day from March 26th through mid-April. The date you choose has to suit both the writer & artist in each collaboration team, so please take care in agreeing on your preferred date. Although the soft deadline of the 26th March applies to everyone because we start posting on that date, your hard deadline is your posting date — you may continue to work on your submission until that date.

If you are posting a chaptered fic and want to space the chapters out over several days, your story must finish posting on your chosen posting date. This means that you will need to start posting earlier so that you're done on your posting date.

For example, if you choose April 1st as your posting date, you can post the whole work, all the chapters, on April 1st. Or if you want to post a couple of chapters a week, work out your schedule backwards from that date. So if you have 5 chapters, and you want to post one per day, you'd need to start posting 5 days earlier than April 1st.

Posting a collaboration

Here are some options commonly used when posting an Author/Artist collaboration:

- Creating a single AO3 work with both the Author and Artist listed as Co-Authors, with the artwork embedded into the story

- The Artist creates an AO3 work for their artwork, and the Author posts their fic to AO3 as a work inspired by another work (see screenshot below) - this is a good option if your team prefers not to embed the artwork into the story

- The Author creates an AO3 work, gifts the work to the Artist and either embeds the artwork or includes a link to wherever the artist has chosen to post their artwork (eg: Tumblr, Dreamwidth or Livejournal, etc)

If you need any help with embedding the artwork or finding an image host for the artwork, please let us know, we can help you organize it.

Posting to the AO3 collection

Only completed works are to be posted to the collection. If you're posting a chaptered work, please ensure that you post your final chapter before adding the work to the collection.

When posting your work, you should be able to add your work to the collection like this, in the “Associations” section when you’re posting a work:

Creating the Tumblr Masterpost

On your posting day, you will need to create a single tumblr masterpost for https://mcukinkbang.tumblr.com/ to reblog. It does not matter if the Author or the Artist make the masterpost, as long as we can reblog it. Your masterpost should include:

- A crop of the artwork (can be SFW or NSFW -- just please be mindful of major squicks like character death)

- Fic and Artwork Rating

- Word count

- Warnings (As per AO3 guidelines, please warn for graphic violence, underage, non-con or major character death) and use any other relevant tags as you see fit — tags for the kinks you included are a great advertisement!

- Characters

- Relationships

- A blurb or story summary

- Links to the collaboration, or the story & artwork if posted separately

- Links to Author's and Artist's tumblrs and/or AO3 accounts

- @mention of the https://mcukinkbang.tumblr.com/ so we can easily find and reblog your masterpost
