MBBS in China for Indian Students
As we as a whole know getting affirmation in Indian private schools is extremely troublesome and due to less seats and numerous different issues, an exceptionally enormous number of Indian understudies are picking to examine MBBS in abroad. China is the most preferred objective among the understudies to contemplate medication as it offers extremely low charges contrasted with India or different objections. It additionally grants extremely great instruction as all the Universities in China are Government-possessed colleges.China, being the second biggest economy on the planet, it has a portion of the world's best clinical colleges. The explanation being these Universities can bear to concede worldwide understudies at such low expenses on the grounds that the nation has exceptionally high instruction spending plan for the innovative work in its clinical science field.Perhaps the nearest neighbor of India for endless years, China clearly has a long and huge standing history. Anyway due to certain debates with China, numerous individuals would feel that it would be troublesome living in China, yet the fact of the matter is totally extraordinary. Chinese individuals like Indian culture and are in every case cordial in their methodology towards Indians.
China is putting increasingly more in instruction consistently. They encourage the exploration and grants spending plan of MBBS in China for global understudies. Since all the Universities in China are Government-claimed, the foundation created and the offices gave in the colleges are constantly kept up at a more significant level. Considering clinical in China is very much perceived far and wide and China has in excess of 50 colleges in the best 500 clinical colleges on the planet.
Qualification for MBBS in China
In the year 2003-2004, understudies from India began taking confirmations in Chinese clinical colleges. In any case, it was till 2007-08, that MCI had set some qualification rules to read MBBS for Indian understudies, wherein a rundown of 30 Chinese Medical Universities were approved by the Medical Council of India. This approval was distinctly based on the Chinese Ministry of Education endorsement of enlisting unfamiliar understudies for English-language undergrad clinical instruction.
The qualification to contemplate MBBS in China was formally set up on the MCI site from 2007-08. Prior, To be Eligible for the program one must need to breeze through 10+2 or its proportional assessment with least half total in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The understudies were likewise expected to apply for an Eligibility Certificate before going to China from MCI which was confirmation that the clinical college is perceived. This qualification standard for reading MBBS was unsure for scarcely any years, notwithstanding, it was compulsory for all the understudies to get the qualification testament.
In the years from 2008 to 2016-17, qualification measures to concede Indian understudies was changed from half to least of 60% by the Chinese clinical colleges. The main explanation being, a large number of the understudies who were confessed to consider medication with low rates, couldn't adapt up to the clinical schedule and would not have the option to finish the 5 years course. The Chinese Ministry of Education made some exacting and significant strides for the advancement of the worldwide understudy's instruction and increased present expectations for the qualification.
From 2017-18, Medical Council of India began the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for all the understudies who wish to examine medication after 10+2. Anyway a large number of the understudies in various states in India were uninformed of such assessment and were absolved for that year to show up NEET. These understudies were permitted to read MBBS for that year, without qualifying NEET. In the scholastic year of 2018-19 NEET was required for all the understudies who wish to consider medication abroad. Be that as it may, in the long stretch of March, 2019, MCI made a unique exception for the understudies who have not qualified NEET-2018 and aiming to take confirmation in MBBS or equal clinical course abroad, until the affirmation of NEET-2019 outcome which was booked on fifth June 2019. These understudies should apply for MCI Eligibility authentication before they take affirmation in the colleges abroad.
The qualification for reading MBBS in China for Indian understudies in 2019 has been pronounced and it says, that the NEET qualification imprints will be substantial for a time of three (3) years from the date of revelation of result. These understudies will be qualified for seek after MBBS in China including pre-clinical/language course, if any followed by MBBS or equal clinical course. This MCI qualification rule of 2019 has been an indication of alleviation for loads of Indian understudies who are as of now concentrating in first class college in China for MBBS and who wish to concentrate in future.
MBBS Admission Procedure in China
China MBBS confirmation strategy is very basic. The clinical seat prerequisites for the passage is a higher optional school level, which makes the degree of rivalry really simpler when contrasted with affirmation in some other nation.
To acquire confirmation in clinical college in China, you need to present your marksheets of tenth, twelfth norm, NEET Marksheet, with unique and verified copies alongside ongoing visa size photographs and your identification duplicates.
Moreover, the MBBS Universities have numerous quality clinics which permit understudies to acquire a few open doors for rehearsing their entry level position program. These emergency clinics offer forward-thinking clinical instruments with the most noteworthy worldwide principles. This gives incredible presentation to the clinical instruction in China for Indian understudies and their capacities to enhance novel thoughts in their calling.
Colleges for MBBS from China in English Medium
In all over China, the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Degree courses have been constantly instructed in Chinese medium. It was ONLY from 2004, that the Chinese Government and the Ministry of Education of China (MoE) permitted not many of the colleges to bestow this clinical degree course in English medium. In straightforward words, China is in every case notable for its Chinese medication and customary Chinese medication around the globe. So fundamentally MBBS in English medium was never a specialty of the Chinese Medical Education.
Since 2010-2011, visiting to examine medication in China was getting famous among the understudies in Asian nations, so to welcome more worldwide understudies, MoE permitted barely any more clinical colleges to confer MBBS in English training. Continuously of 2014-2015, MoE authoritatively endorsed 45 clinical colleges in China to bestow MBBS course in English mode for universal understudies. Anyway numerous nearby operators from India and a portion of the lesser known clinical schools in China began the idea of bilingual courses, where they confused the understudies by saying that they will have MBBS instruction in English just as in Chinese medium. Though in the primary year, the understudies would concentrate in Chinese language and afterward from second year they would have ordinary English medium classes. A large portion of the understudies from India would favor this simply because these clinical schools have extremely low charges contrasted with the English educating MBBS colleges. For additional subtleties and to book your seats in the English medium courses to examine medication in China https://www.mbbsconsultancy.in/mbbs-in-china/
Since most recent few years, numerous Indian understudies confronted issues in such sort of bilingual clinical course colleges and had whined to the Indian Embassy in China. This is the significant explanation MoE needed to openly proclaim an announcement to the Indian Embassy about the 45 recorded clinical colleges which are endorsed to instruct MBBS training in English medium. In China, MBBS is either in English medium OR in Chinese Medium and the other English medium course is Clinical Integrative Medicine, which incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine.
So now if any Indian understudies wish to contemplate medication in China in English medium, at that point they need to MAKE SURE to get confirmations ONLY in the 45 recorded clinical colleges of China which ranges from 3 lakhs to 8 lakhs expenses for each year. In the event that any neighborhood specialist guides you for some other clinical colleges aside from these 45 recorded colleges, you won't have the option to show up for the FMGE Examination which is held by Medical Council of India.
MBBS Fees in China
MBBS program is exceptionally practical the same number of the top clinical universities give grants. Indeed, even without the grants, MBBS cost is exceptionally low in China. For the most part, the MBBS China charges start from Rs. 3,00,000/ - every year and for the 5-years program, MBBS Course Fees in China would cost around 15 Lakhs Rupees. In the event that you incorporate inn charges and other food costs, it would circumvent Rs. 18,50,000/ - for the entire 5 years course.
MBBS Degree in China is amazingly moderate in contrast with concentrate in European nations, the United States, UK, Japan, Korea. Over all business openings are bounty.
The Chinese Universities are a-list and have an elevated expectation of training. This makes it an ideal spot for clinical investigations in China and the MBBS degree offered are perceived by all the created nations.
MBBS in China for Indians ought not involve concern since Chinese cooking is one of the most famous nourishments around the globe. Notwithstanding food, the atmosphere conditions are agreeable as well. On the off chance that the understudies total the temporary job in China, at that point they don't need to do it again in India.
Expenses of China Medical Universities shift according to the area and University. Some major enormous urban areas like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Sichuan, charges to examine medication is costly contrasted with other littler urban areas. At the same time the living expense and norms additionally fluctuate while concentrating in China.

Christopher Augustine, an N.S.A. spokesman, told The New York Times in January that agency officials were “carefully evaluating all aspects” of the Freedom Act program, and were discussing its future.
Mr. Augustine made clear that the White House would make the final call about whether to ask Congress to extend the Freedom Act.
The disclosure that the program has apparently been shut down for months “changes the entire landscape of the debate,” said Daniel Schuman, the policy director of Demand Progress, an advocacy group that focuses on civil liberties and government accountability.
Since “the sky hasn’t fallen” without the program, he said, the intelligence community must make the case that reviving it is necessary — if, indeed, the National Security Agency thinks it is worth the effort to keep trying to make it work.
The phone records program had never thwarted a terrorist attack, a fact that emerged during the post-Snowden debate.
A spotlight on the people reshaping our politics. A conversation with voters across the country. And a guiding hand through the endless news cycle, telling you what you really need to know.
“If there is an ongoing program, even if we all have doubts about it, that’s a very different political matter than if the program has actually stopped,” Mr. Schuman said. “Then the question becomes, ‘Why restart it?’ rather than whether to turn it off.”
The National Security Agency has used the call-detail records — metadata showing who called whom and when, but not the content of what was said — as a map of social networks, analyzing links between people to identify associates of terrorism suspects.
Even without the program, the agency could still collect telecommunications data from abroad, which domestic surveillance laws have left largely unregulated. But while overseas-based collection can give some access to Americans’ data, it apparently does not provide the systematic access to purely domestic phone messages.
The phone records program traces back to the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks when the Bush administration created the secret Stellarwind surveillance program. One component involved the bulk collection of logs of Americans’ domestic phone calls.
Companies like AT&T and MCI — later part of Verizon — initially turned over their customers’ records in response to an order by Mr. Bush. Starting in 2006, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court began issuing secret orders requiring the companies to participate, based on a novel interpretation of Section 215 of the Patriot Act, which said the F.B.I. may obtain business records “relevant” to a terrorism investigation.
In June 2013, the program came to light after The Guardian published the first revelation from the trove of classified files provided by Mr. Snowden: a top-secret surveillance court order to Verizon to provide its customers’ call records.
The disclosure, one of the most significant by Mr. Snowden, prompted sharp criticism of the government’s theory about why it was legal: Essentially, everyone’s phone records were relevant because the government needed to acquire the haystack so that it could hunt for needles of investigative interest. An appeals court later rejected that theory.
While intelligence officials could not point to attacks the program had thwarted, they defended the ability as a useful triaging tool for sifting through potential connections — and suggested that had it been in place before Sept. 11, it might have helped uncover Al Qaeda’s plot. Critics called that argument exaggerated and portrayed it as a legally dubious invasion of privacy that was ripe for abuse.
The Obama administration eventually embraced a plan to end the National Security Agency’s bulk collection of domestic phone data but preserve the old program’s analytical ability, resulting in the Freedom Act of 2015.
Under that law, the bulk records remained in the hands of the phone companies, not the government. But with a judge’s permission, the agency could swiftly retrieve the phone and text logs of particular suspects as well as of all of the people who had been in contact with those suspects, even when they were customers of different phone companies.
Under the replacement system, the number of records about Americans’ communications that the agency collected dropped significantly from the billions per day it had previously been sucking in.
Yet the scale of collection remained huge: The program gathered 151 million records in 2016, despite obtaining court orders to use the system on only 42 terrorism suspects in 2016, along with a few left over from late 2015. In 2017, it obtained orders for 40 targets and collected 534 million records.
Problems with the system emerged last year, when the National Security Agency said it had decided to delete its entire database of records gathered since the Freedom Act system became operational. Glenn S. Gerstell, the agency’s general counsel, said in an interview at the time that because of complex technical glitches, one or more telecom providers — he declined to say which — had responded to court orders for records by sending logs to the agency that included both accurate and inaccurate data.
When the agency then fed those numbers back to the telecoms to get the communications logs of all of the people who had been in contact with its targets, it ended up gathering some data of people unconnected to the targets. The agency had no authority to collect their information, nor a practical way to go through its large database and cull those records it should not have gathered. As a result, it decided to purge them all and start over.
But it had not been clear until Mr. Murry’s comments in the podcast that was posted over the weekend that the problems have continued, even as a legislative battle over the Freedom Act — and the inevitable scrutiny of how the program has functioned — has drawn near.

NEET 2021|MBBS IN PHILIPPINES|UV GULLASCOLLEGEOFMEDICINE
NEET 2021
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (or NEET (UG)), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is an all India pre-medical entrance test for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS) and equivalent AYUSH (BAMS, BUMS, BHMS, etc.) courses in government and private institutions in India and also, for those intending to pursue primary medical qualification abroad.
The exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), which provides the results to the Directorate General of Health Services under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and State Counseling Authorities for seat allocation.
NEET-UG replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and many other pre-medical exams conducted by states and various medical colleges. However, due to lawsuits being filed against the exam, it couldn’t be held in 2014 and 2015.
NEET-UG is a single entrance test for admissions to more than 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats across India. In 2018,
After the enactment of NMC Act 2019 in September 2019, NEET-UG became common all India entrance test for admissions to medical colleges in India including the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) which until then conducted separate entrances.
NEET was initially proposed to take place from 2012 onwards. However, for several reasons, the CBSE and Medical Council of India deferred NEET by a year. The test was announced by the Government of India and was held for the first time on 5 May 2013 across India for students seeking admission for both undergraduate and postgraduate medicine On 18 July 2013, SC gave the decision in favour of 115 petitions and cancelled the NEET exam and announced that the MCI could not interfere with the admission process done by colleges.
Following the announcement from the Medical Council of India that it would introduce the NEET-UG exam in 2012, several states including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat, West Bengal and Tamil Nadu strongly opposed the change, stating that there was a huge variation in the syllabus proposed by the MCI and their state syllabus Even though NEET 2016 is conducted in English and Hindi, it was announced that students can write exams in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Assamese and Gujarati languages from 2017 onwards. Kannada and Odia languages are added to the list so that students can write the exams in nine Indian languages and English. The Supreme Court of India quashed theNational Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions into all medical and dental colleges on 18 July 2013. The apex court ruled that the Medical Council of India cannot conduct a unified examination
According to a 2013 announcement by CBSE planned to conduct AIPMT on 4 May 2014.The final decision on NEET UG was planned to be taken after the verdict of the Supreme Court of India.
The Central Board of Secondary Education announces the results and the All India Merit List for NEET-UG. The merit list and the wait-list are prepared as per the directives of the Supreme Court of India, DGHS, MCI and DCI. The results for 2013 were announced on 5 June
NEET was declared illegal and unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of India in 2013. However, it was restored on 11 April 2016, after a five-judge Constitution bench recalled the earlier verdict and allowed the Central Government and the Medical Council of India (MCI) to implement the common entrance test until the court decides afresh on its validity.
Phase One Test
The All India Pre Medical Test, also known as AIPMT, held on 1 May 2016, was considered as the first phase of the NEET. Students who registered for Phase One were given a chance to appear for the next phase of NEET held on 24 July 2016, but with a condition that candidates have to give up their NEET Phase 1 score. The above dates are as per the order of the Supreme Court.
Exam pattern and structure
There are a total of 180 questions asked in the exam, 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, 90 questions from Biology. Each correct response fetches 4 marks and each incorrect response gets -1 negative marking. The exam duration is 3 hours (180mins). The exam is of 720 marks (maximum marks)
Syllabus
NEET-UG syllabus consists of the core concepts of Physics, Chemistry and Biology taught in classes 11 and 12 as prescribed by the NCERT
Organizing body
The National TestingAgency (NTA) has been made the nodal agency for conduct of all India competitive exams and conducts NEET-UG from 2019. The Central Boardof Secondary Education conducted NEET between 2013 and 2018 before the setting of NTA.
As per the orders of Honorable Supreme Court, there will be a single medical entrance exam all over India for admission into medical and dental colleges. The colleges will not be able to conduct their own medical entrance exam and thus all will accept students based on NEET Score. All India Pre Medical Test(AIPMT), is now known as NEET. After the declaration of the results, an All India Rank (AIR) is allotted to each candidate and a merit list is released. The Medical Council of India conducts counseling (allotment of seats according to merit and candidate choice) for 15% state seats, central institutes and deemed universities. The counseling for remaining 85% state quota seats and private colleges is done by the medical boards of respective states. States prepare their separate merit list on basis of NEET-UG results. The total number of seats offered under NEET is 66,000 which is distributed accordingly.
The National Medical Commission would bring great transparency and also rationalise norms to set up new medical colleges, PM Modi said
The government is transforming the entire medical education and healthcare sector and the National Medical Commission would bring great transparency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday. “Friends we are transforming the entire medical education and healthcare sector,” he said addressing the 33rd convocation of the state-run Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University through video conferencing.
The National Medical Commission would bring great transparency and also rationalise norms to set up new medical colleges, he noted. “It will also improve the quality and availability of human resources in this sector.” During the last six years, MBBS seats increased by more than 30,000, which is a rise of more than 50 per cent from 2014. The number of Post Graduate seats increased by 24,000 which is a rise of around 80 per cent from 2014.
Every year the NEET exam will falls on May month but last year 2020 due to covid 19 the exam has been conducted on September 13 and the result has been announced on 16th October 2020.
On February 2, 2021 CBSE released the datasheet for class 10 and class 12 board exams. It was speculated that NTA along with education ministry may announce notification regarding NEET 2021 dates. But no such announcement was made by the NTA. Earlier, it was expected that education ministry might provide some clarity on NEET 2021 dates and syllabus in the first half of February but nothing has happen yet.
Earlier in January NTA has announced the dates for JEE mains which had led to the anticipation among the NEET aspirants that NTA will soon announce the NEET 2021 dates. It is now expected that the NEET 2021 dates can be announced in the First half of March now. According to the regular schedule of NEET it is also expected that NEET 2021 exam will take place in the last week of June after the class 12 board exam concludes.
NEET 2021 will be conducted twice a year from this session, Union Health Ministry on February 8, 2021 gave its nod. The issues which are pending and are into consideration as per the requests from the NEET aspirants, such as introduction of online and offline modes of examination and multiple sessions, were discussed in a meeting between Education Ministry and the NTA.
“While we felt that a large number of NEET aspirants still may not be ready for appearing in the examination in online mode, there is now a consensus on conducting the test twice this year,” said a senior official in the medical education department of the Health Ministry.
As the Health Ministry has given its nod to conduct NEET twice a year, aspirants are now urging Education Ministry, Health Ministry and NTA to end rumours and speculations regarding the NEET 2021 dates announcement and has requested to announce the same soon.
Recently, NTA Director General, Vineet Joshi has given clarity on why there is a delay in the announcement of NEET 2021 Dates on February 23, 2021, and had said that “there are a total of 28 boards, two ministries, and NTA involved in the brainstorming process, so the process is taking time”.
“NTA is in consultation with all the stakeholders and taking into consideration all possible aspects in the https://www.uvgullascollegeofmedicine.com/best interest of students. Moreover, he expected that a final decision on the exam date will be made by the end of February,” Joshi added. The authorities are now taking requests of the candidates for consideration and will soon announce the dates along with the other important information on how and when the second attempt will take place.
Reports suggest that conducting NEET 2021 in a twice a year format will allow students to be ranked on the basis of the best of the two scores if they take the test twice. Since last year, the same format is being followed for JEE(Main).
According to NTA, conducting NEET 2021 will reduce the stress on the students and allow them to improve their scores. Last week, during an interview, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank said that officials from his and the health ministry interacted recently and there is a possibility that the health ministry will consider conducting NEET 2021 twice and give students an additional attempt.
Earlier, clashing of NEET with board exams was never an issue. However, this year, due to the ongoing pandemic situation, board exams 2021 got pushed back and changed the entire timeline.
NEET 2021 Dates: National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the National Eligibility Entrance Examination (NEET) in the month of July 2021. According to the reports, NTA may release NEET 2021 dates for the month of July to avoid any clash with various state board examinations scheduled to be conducted in the months of May and June 2021. Earlier, clashing of NEET with board exams was never an issue. However, this year, due to the ongoing pandemic situation, board exams 2021 got pushed back and changed the entire timeline.
Every year, almost every start board exams and national boards such as CBSE and ICSE conclude by the end of April leaving the first Sunday of May reserved for the NEET-UG examination. However, this year, the board exam dates got shifted from February-April to May-June, 2021. According to CBSE 12th Date Sheet 2021, Class 12 exams will commence on May 4 and conclude on June 11, 2021.
Most state-level board examinations are also scheduled in the months of May and June 2021. However, NEET 2021 cannot be conducted in the last week of June 2021 as WBCHSE Board Exams 2021 are scheduled for the last week of June. WB Class 12 board will end on June 30, 2021. Considering NEET is the only UG medical entrance exam of the nation, there is a huge responsibility on NTA to decide NEET 2021 dates avoiding any clash with national or state-level board examination
NEET exam pattern 2021 will be announced by the National Testing Agency in January 2021. The exam pattern of NEET 2021 will be designed to select the best candidates for the medical and allied courses. Candidates who wish to score well in NEET must be well versed with the exam pattern of NEET 2021. Details such as mode of the examination, medium, marking scheme and the duration of the examination will be covered under the NEET exam pattern 2021. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test will be conducted offline and will be held for a duration of three hours.
On March 2, 2021, Secretary, Higher Education, Amit Khare has said that the NEET 2021 exam pattern will have no changes, as reported by media portals. “Any changes in the exam with such short notice will be unfair to the candidates preparing for NEET UG 2021 and any further delay in the entrance test will affect the next session,” Khare said.
According to the exam pattern of NEET 2021, candidates will be given an OMR sheet to mark their responses. Thus, it becomes important to know everything about the OMR sheet and how to mark the responses on it. NEET exam pattern 2021 also controls the number of questions that will be asked from each subject. J&K likely to have 1145 MBBS seats this year October 18: As the NEET results are out, aspirants for MBBS in J&K may be looking at 160 additional seats in pool at various medical colleges of the UT, the total available berths reaching 1145, J&K Government said. Financial Commissioner (FC) Health and Medical Education (H&ME), Atal Dulloo said that the approval for 100 additional MBBS seats in GMC Doda was expected from Medical Council of India (MCI). In addition, 15 seats are expected to increase in GMC Anantnag, Baramulla, Rajouri and Kathua, he said. The FC said all the requisite criteria for enhancement of seats had been fulfilled and MCI “was satisfied” to allow increase in intake, however, a formal approval letter (letter of permission) was awaited. The addition of 160 MBBS seats for the upcoming academic session, he said, would take the total available seats in J&K to 1145. “In the past two years, we have been able to more than double our intake for MBBS in J&K, a great advancement in the medical education sector here and a major reprieve for aspirants,” he said. Dulloo said the process for starting MBBS in two AIIMS in J&K, Vijaypur and Awantipora, was also underway. “A central team had recently inspected GMC Kathua as a possible temporary campus for starting AIIMS Vijaypur MBBS course,” he said. He said the site was suitable and hoped that approval would be given for taking the first batch at this site for the premier upcoming medical college for 2020-21. “We are looking at 50 seats for now,” he said, adding that the next year, AIIMS Awantipora may also be started from a temporary campus in a GMC in Kashmir. In June 2019, Medical Council of India approved 400 additional seats for four new medical colleges in J&K – Baramulla, Anantnag, Rajouri and Kathua. GMC Doda was not accorded approval due to its incomplete infrastructure. The five new medical colleges in J&K had been allotted in 2012, however, were incomplete till 2019. In 2019, a health official said, although shortfalls in infrastructure and human resources still existed, MCI allowed these to start with a rider to fulfil the deficiencies within stipulated time. #kashmir #mbbs https://www.instagram.com/p/CGeURVolJVq/?igshid=7mohsdds2ud4

Gett raises $100M more to double down on its B2B on-demand ride business
A number of ride-sharing companies are feeling the strain from reduced business, with many consumers still reluctant to travel, and especially to travel in surroundings that might increase the risk of spreading or catching the novel coronavirus. But today, one of the startups in the space is announcing a significant round of funding to continue growing in its target sector of corporate travel, underscoring where there may still be some existing and growing opportunities.
Gett, the London and Israel-based ride-sharing company that competes with the likes of Uber and many others to provide private car rides on-demand, has raised $100 million. Gett’s CEO and founder Dave Waiser told TechCrunch that it is all primary equity capital, and the company says it plans to use it to continue investing in its B2B business, which has been growing — not shrinking or staying flat — in the midst of the global health pandemic.
“The way people move around in cities is changing dramatically as a result of COVID-19 and businesses are seeking to optimise costs and to put in place efficient and safe ground travel solutions for their employees,” said Waiser, in a statement. “Our mobility software is helping businesses thrive by empowering people to be their best on the go. Being fully funded and reaching a key milestone in our profitability journey is an important step for the Company. The proceeds will help us grow our unique corporate SaaS platform internationally, while we consider an IPO in the future, to further accelerate our expansion.”
The company turned operationally profitable in December 2019 and had said it planned to go public in 2020, but it sounds like that timeline, if it happens, has now been pushed back to 2021. Gett says it has met its “original financial targets that were set pre-COVID-19.” It also reached profitability in each of its core markets in June, and is on target now to be cashflow positive in 2021, ahead of a “potential” IPO.
“It’s a luxury, enabling flexibility for the company to go public when it’s best, rather than from the cash needs reasoning as many (money losing) companies have to do nowadays,” Waiser said.
Gett is not disclosing the names of any of its investors in this round except to note that it’s a mix of new and existing backers, nor is it disclosing its valuation.
Waiser said the reason for that is that the round is still open and oversubscribed, so it plans to announce a list of investors after it closes.
For some context, though, Gett has now raised $750 million with investors including VW, Access and its founder Len Blavatnik, Kreos, MCI and more, and its last valuation was $1.5 billion, pegged to a $200 million fundraise in May 2019.
Gett started operations years ago serving both consumers and corporate users but in recent years has honed its focus specifically on business accounts. No surprise, when you think about it, considering the capital intensiveness, competitiveness, and subsequent poor unit economics of scaling a consumer-focused ridesharing business (a confluence of factors we’ve seen played out at Uber, Lyft, Grab and many others).
Gett’s turn to B2B has seen it pick up some 15,000 corporate customers, including one-third of the Fortune 500. What has been interesting too is the approach Gett has taken to scale: today, it provides rides in some 1,500 cities, but a part of that footprint is served not directly by Gett but in a partnership with Lyft — the result of a deal Gett inked with the company in November 2019 after the former shut down its Juno operations in New York City. It’s been expanding that list to include other third-party partnerships in the mix.
While partnerships may not yield margins as strong as those Gett has in direct operations, it provides a plethora of analytics and invoicing services around the actual ride, and secures the corporate accounts, which provides other revenue streams to offset that. It claims that its services ultimately undercut other ground transportation options for corporates by about 25%.
While a lot of consumers may have curtailed their Uber rides in recent months, the business market has had seen a turn to ensuring that the travel that its users are taking is well-controlled when it has to be done, specifically to meet specific safety standards. That has been the sweet spot for Gett, with its very specific B2B approach.
“The completion of the fundraising during the pandemic is a clear expression of confidence by our shareholders and new investors in Gett’s vision to focus on the corporate market and its plan to expand globally, as well as in the Company’s strong operational and financial performance,” said Amos Genish, Gett chairman, in a statement.

JAMMU: A total of 13, 295 students will compete for 900 MBBS seats in Jammu and Kashmir this year, as the results of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 were declared on Wednesday. As many as 24, 744 candidates from the State had appeared for the exam out of which 13,295 qualified the test but nobody from the State could find a place in top 50 candidates. NEET was conducted across 154 cities of the country in 11 languages and 2,546 centres.
Check Complete List here : Result of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) - 2019 As many as 26,595 candidates from the State had registered for the exam, but 1851 did not appear for it. The exam was conducted throughout the country on May 5 and May 20. In NEET 2018, 54.21 percent candidates had qualified the exam while this year 53.73 percent candidates qualified the exam, thus registering a decline of 0.48 percent from the previous year. The NEET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in medical and dental colleges approved by the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India. Sources said that there are a total of 900 MBBS available in Medical Colleges and 300 BDS seats available in Dental Colleges of the State for which these 13, 295 students will compete. “While there are 150 MBBS seats each in GMCs Jammu and Srinagar, 100 each in SKIMS Soura and Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) Jammu, 100 seats each have been allotted to four new GMCs at Kathua, Rajouri, Anantnag and Baramulla, which recently got Letter of Permission (LoP) from the Medical Council of India (MCI) to start their maiden academic session from this year,” they informed. The Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) has so far notified 400 additional MBBS seats in the new medical colleges of J&K as “available” for admission starting this academic year, an addition that takes MBBS seat pool in State from 500 to 900. The BOPEE notice states that the seats, 100 each, will be available at GMC Anantnag, GMC Baramulla, GMC Kathua and GMC Rajouri. “Fifty percent of the seats would be reserved for female aspirants in each medical college as per the MBBS Admission Policy in the State,” sources further informed, adding that additional 400 MBBS seats this year will prove a big boon not only for the MBBS aspirants but also for health sector of the State as many Government health institutions are facing severe shortage of doctors. Sources further told that the State may get 199 more MBBS seats this year under EWS (Economically Weaker Section) quota by June 10 as the Board of Governors of MCI has recommended the Government to consider increase of seats under EWS quota for Undergraduates from this academic session. Elaborating more, they said to implement the 10% increase for EWS separately for the Undergraduate and Postgraduates, there has to be an overall increase of 25% seats to ensure that the current number of unreserved seats do not decrease. “Thus, in GMCs Jammu and Srinagar, which have 150 MBBS seats each, there will be an increase of 37 seats. SKIMS Soura and four new GMCs, which have 100 MBBS seats each, will get an increase of 25 seats,” sources claimed. Read the full article
