Synopsis: The year? Some point after college. The occasion? Namjoon is getting married and the Rich Man’s Crochet Club has convened once again. Somewhere between the drinks and the laughter, everyone has the same realization: Jungkook has never been in a serious relationship. In the name of all that is holy (Overwatch and booze), the club’s mission is revived. Now though, their goal is much more perilous. Now, they aim to find Jeon Jungkook a girlfriend. (Part of The Rich Man’s Crochet Club series)

“JIMIN!”

“JEON!” Waving wildly, Jimin flags Jungkook down as he steps off the escalator.

There are still several people between them, but none of them prove to be a match for Jungkook. Dodging them easily – spinning, at one point around a family of five – Jungkook dramatically runs towards the exit.

“JIMIN-SSI!” he yells. “I’M COMING!”

Jimin rolls his eyes at the display. “Get your ass over here, Jeon! Sorry,” he apologizes to the same family of five.

Although the mother shoots them both a dirty look, she hurries her kids towards the Taxi stand and does not look back. Jimin opens his arms just as Jungkook crashes into his chest.

Lowering his cheek to Jimin’s hair, Jungkook closes his eyes to whisper, “I think you got shorter.”

“Fuck off,” Jimin grunts, shoving him away before laughing.

Jungkook grins. “Anyways,” he says, slinging an arm about Jimin’s neck. “Are you ready for the best weekend of our lives?”

With a good-natured shake of his head, Jimin leads Jungkook out of the terminal. Always the excellent host, Jimin actually parked his car at the airport and walked inside to greet him. Jungkook cannot remember the last time his family did that for him, let alone a friend.

“Ready to assist Namjoon, you mean?” Jimin gives Jungkook a look. “You know – on his wedding day?”

“Yeah, yeah. That.” The moment they step outside, Jungkook takes a deep breath. “Ahh,” he groans, slowly exhaling. “You smell that, Jimin?”

“Car exhaust?”

“No. Lack of humidity.”

Jimin snorts, striding forward when the crosswalk turns green. “Still not sold on Miami?”

Jungkook opens one eye. “Miami’s fine,” he says automatically, following Jimin as they enter the garage.

Over his shoulder, the garment bag keeps banging his ass. As much as Jungkook hoped this would keep his suit from wrinkling, it is looking more and more like he will need an iron.

Not believing a word Jungkook says, Jimin raises a brow. “If you say so.”

As they reach the next aisle, Jungkook takes in deep gulps of air. Jimin shakes his head at his antics, but Jungkook could not care less. This city always smells like home to him. When they reach Jimin’s car, though – a sensible, gray Subaru – Jungkook’s feet falter.

“What happened to Liz?” he blurts, taken aback by the trade.

Liz was their college nickname for Jimin’s car, stemming from the infamous Liz Lemon of 30 Rock. So dubbed because Jimin’s old car was a complete piece of crap – a lemon, from the time he drove it off the lot.

Jimin pauses, flipping the keys in one hand. “Traded it in,” he says stiffly, pulling open the door. “Too many memories.”

Realizing what Jimin means, Jungkook winces. He had nearly forgotten about the break-up. Granted, it has been almost four months since Jimin and Olivia called it quits, but the two had been dating since college. Slightly longer than Namjoon and his fiancée.

Whereas Namjoon and his fiancée grew closer after University though, Jimin and Olivia were the opposite. Jimin graduated summa cum laude with an acceptance to one of the top medical schools in the country. His painful notetaking really paid off, as Namjoon was wont to say. When he moved to Chicago and began med school in earnest, Olivia left for New York to join a consulting company.

With their busy schedules and early twenties lives, the two drifted apart. Jimin was the one who held on, not wanting to end things with the first girl he loved. It was only when he surprised Olivia in New York over Valentine’s Day he realized it was over. Not that Olivia was cheating on him, or anything – maybe it would have been easier if she were. At least then, there would be somebody to blame.

No, Jimin merely realized they did not fit anymore. Olivia had her friends and interests; he had his and the two no longer meshed. Without realizing it, they had both reached a fork in the woods and turned down different paths.

Ever since their break-up, the chat has been wary of even mentioning her name.

Jungkook glances hesitantly at his profile. “You okay, man?” he asks as they enter the car. Tossing his duffle bag over the backseat, he prays it does not land on his suit.

“Okay?” Jimin places the car in reverse. “Could be better, I guess. Could be worse.”

Jungkook nods as they pull from the spot. Slouched in his seat, he stares out the window because in times like this, he is useless. When it comes to matters of the heart, Jungkook considers himself to be woefully inept.

“Sorry man,” he says quietly. A car honks in response as they get on the highway. “Wish I could say we always hated her, but you know that’s not true.”

Jimin snorts from the driver’s seat. “Yeah, I know. I can’t really bring myself to say that, either.”

“Well, maybe you two will –”

“No. We won’t.”

Seeing Jimin’s face, Jungkook shrugs and resumes looking out the window.

After a minute, Jimin exhales. “So, how’s Miami really going?”

Jungkook’s head whips sideways to face him.

The corner of Jimin’s mouth lifts. “Thought you hid it well, huh?”

“Better than five minutes into the car ride, yeah.”

“Well, you don’t.”

Jungkook snorts. “Miami is… fine. I don’t know. It’s not really Miami I have a problem with.”

“Your job, then?”

“Yeah, and… I don’t know. Everything.”

“Be a little more vague.”

Jungkook’s lips twitch. “I just…” He pauses, collecting his thoughts. “It was so much simpler in college, you know? Things were difficult, but it all had an end date. Right? Get through four years, and you’re done. I’m starting to realize… this doesn’t have an end date.”

Jimin’s lips purse at the road. “The end date is whenever you want it to be, JK.”

“I guess,” Jungkook grumbles, slouching lower in the seat. Any further, and he might slip off the edge. “But then I’d have to admit that I failed. That I spent eight fucking years of my life either in this job, or working towards it. What was the point if I quit?”

“What’s the point of spending another eight years doing something you hate?”

Jungkook stubbornly chews the inside of his cheek, knowing Jimin is right. The problem is, though – even if he quits, Jungkook has no idea what to do. Sure, he likes photography, but the field is competitive as hell. Jungkook wants to do something he loves, but he also wants to succeed. Taking such a massive leap terrifies him.

“Let’s talk about something else,” he mumbles, turning to Jimin.

Although Jimin arches a brow, he reluctantly lets the subject go. “Sure. Let’s talk instead about how Seokjin is bringing a date to the wedding.”

“Seokjin?” Jungkook’s brows shoot so far up, they near-disappear. “Who?”

“Some girl from LA.”

“No shit,” Jungkook exhales, slowly shaking his head. “Wow. We’re all settling down, huh? Soon, it’ll just be you and me, Jimin,” he grins, leaning over to punch Jimin in the arm.

The wheel jerks at the action, swerving them towards the next lane. “Hey!” Jimin blurts, straightening them out with a scowl. “At least I dated someone during the past five years, Jeon. Who’ve you been seeing?”

“No comment.”

“Huh. I don’t remember her. Was she the blonde?”

“Shut up,” Jungkook laughs, reaching out for the stereo. As the latest pop song fills the car, he pointedly stares out the window.

Jimin smiles, shaking his head. Namjoon’s wedding is being held in the city. His fiancée’s father is some big shot at a downtown law firm. From what Jungkook has gathered, the ceremony spiraled from a small, romantic affair into one of the biggest events of the season.

Jungkook’s lip quirks. That is how you know Namjoon’s fiancée’s family is rich. They use phrases like event of the season and christen their yachts with only the most expensive champagne. Having been to several yacht-christenings in Miami, Jungkook has never understood the event. What is the point of buying something expensive, only to ruin it?

Actually, maybe that is the point.

Pushing Miami from mind, Jungkook stares at the highway as they drive towards the city. The wedding has taken on a mind of its own, according to Namjoon. So detailed, so elaborate, they were forced to hire a wedding planner. Jungkook can only imagine Namjoon, micro-manager to the extreme, being forced to trust someone else with his life.

It has been a while since Jungkook last visited Chicago. Namjoon’s family is from here, and whenever they visited in college, they always had a great time. His mom sent them off each morning with fresh fruit and eggs – it was sweet; reminded Jungkook of home.

The familiar skyline arching above brings a smile to his lips. All in all, Jimin and Hoseok do not realize how lucky they are. If Jungkook lived here, he would – cutting the thought off, Jungkook sits up in his seat. Jungkook does not live here, so there is no point pretending.

Glancing down at his phone, Jungkook feels a modicum of guilt. After placing himself in airplane mode, he has not turned the device back on since he landed. Jungkook knows there will be a fresh wave of texts from his boss and for now, wishes to delay the inevitable.

“Where’s the wedding again?” Jungkook asks, turning his head.

Jimin shrugs as he rolls down his window. The night wind ruffles his hair, sending strands flying all over the place. “Some hotel by the river. Hear it has a great view.”

“And what’s the plan for the weekend?”

“Jungkook!” Jimin scolds, turning down the radio. “Did you even read the agenda Seokjin sent?”

Jungkook glances at him guiltily. “Um, I looked at it.”

Seokjin’s is Namjoon’s best man for the wedding. It makes sense – the two of them have been roommates since sophomore year of college, not to mention they both live in LA. Jungkook knows Jimin has also helped Namjoon with wedding details, since he lives in Chicago.

The look Jimin gives says he knows Jungkook is full of bullshit. “There’s a copy of the itinerary in my glove compartment,” he says with a nod. “I printed out a few just in case.”

“Why the fuck,” Jungkook grumbles as he opens the clasp. “Alright, here we go. Wednesday.”

“That’s today,” Jimin prompts.

“I know what day it is.” Jungkook clears his throat. “Alright, Wednesday. Bridesmaids and groomsmen arrive.”

“That’s us,” Jimin adds, shooting Jungkook a look.

“Yep, yep. Thursday – booze cruise. Woo! Seriously?”

Jimin rolls his eyes. “You really didn’t read this, did you?”

Ignoring him, Jungkook continues. “Friday – rehearsal ceremony and dinner. Be at the church by 4:00 PM.”

“Dressed.”

“Doesn’t seem like a necessary clarification,” Jungkook says, flipping over the paper. “Saturday, ceremony starts at 2:00 PM. Photos and reception following. Sunday, brunch.”

Jimin nods. “Don’t be late.”

“Jimin.” Jungkook lowers the sheet. “It’s Wednesday. How can you seriously tell me not to be late to brunch on Sunday?”

“Because I know you.”

“Touché.” Jungkook grins, crumpling the paper despite Jimin’s groans.

There are not many people heading into the city on a Wednesday night – turning on his blinker, Jimin switches lanes to pull off on an exit. As they slow, the buildings around them seem to stretch towards the night sky. Craning his head out the window, Jungkook exhales. When he pulls back, he finds Jimin watching.

“What?” Jungkook asks, somewhat defensive.

Jimin’s upper lip curls. “Nothing. You know, Hoseok and I’s roommate leaves at the end of the month. If you ever wanted to come to Chicago…”

Jungkook glances away. “C’mon, man. I can’t quit my job.”

“Can’t… won’t…” Jimin trails off at Jungkook’s expression in the mirror. “Anyways, the offer stands. Think about it, okay?”

Slowly, Jungkook nods. “Alright, I’ll think about.”

Jimin smiles, appeased and returns to the road. His hands stay firmly at the ten and two ‘o’clock position, which is so Jimin, it makes Jungkook smile. As they wind through the streets, Jungkook cannot help but think about what it would be like to live here.

He would probably be miserable if he simply transferred to Chicago. Maybe a little less so, since Hoseok and Jimin would be here – but nothing would really change in the long run. If he quit his job, though. Jungkook sighs. For now, that type of change remains firmly in the abstract.

“There!” Jimin squints at the building ahead. “That’s the hotel.”

MY HUGE THEORY ON EL’S PLOTLINE IN S4

before you guys even start, YES I know that 99.9% of what I say is going to be wrong but this is literally just for fun.

its march 1986, middle of the school year and el HATES school

when we left her she was barely literate and had just started getting accostomed to speaking full sentences, NOWHERE NEAR a 9th grade level, so shes struggling in her classes to say the least

on top of that, she barely knows how to socialize with other people, so shes evidently getting picked on

with joyce and jonathan both working to keep the family afloat, will and el get left alone alot

but outside of the party, they socially have nothing in common

in fact, will is adapting to the new town a whole lot better than el. he fit right in with all the creative kids he met in class, but el didnt mesh with that crowd

anyway, our girl is sturggling

the only time she really has fun is when she visits hawkins, or when someone from the party visits them

which leads us to spring break

mike obviously comes to visit, and el doesnt want them to waste a single second so she begs mike and will to come explore the town with her

at this point joyce is already in her detective mode, hatching a rescue plan for hopper so she doesnt notice theyre gone

and jonathan is battling the heartbreak of nancy ghosting him when she was supposed to come visit

so the trio goes off on an adventure without anyone noticing.......... or so they think

because brenner is back, and he knows el is with the byers, but he cant go and snatch her because he doesnt have the resources all the way in california

in fact, he doesnt have the resources at all. his numbers experiment is seen as a catastrophic failure that lead to the deaths of hundreds of lab employees

the only way for him to redeem himself in the community, and gain his funding back is to present his peers with proof that the project can work, so he needs to get one of his numbers back

el is the only one he can track down, but he doesnt think he can do it himself. if she saw him, she could just kill him with her powers, he assumes because he doesnt know she lost them

so who does he employ to get el back to hawkins? lonnie byers

its almost too easy. it doesnt take much to bribe lonnie, and hey, its not like its his kid. so lonnie accepts the bribe, and goes all the way out to california to find el

he shows up at the byers house..... only to find it completely deserted. so he waits

and the trio finds him there after their day out (why are you here? what do you want? where are mom and jonathan?)

and lonnie, being as crafty as he is, comes up with a good excuse on the fly (hes craftier than i am because i genuinely have no idea what he would say)

anyway, he gets them in his car and on their way back to hawkins

jonathan shows up after theyve already left, and is too stoned tired to think anything of the empty house

and joyce is already halfway to russia

will knows his father. he knows that his father doesnt give a shit about him, the family, or anything about hawkins. he knows that his father wouldnt get involved in anything unless he had something to gain. so hes wraking his brain

maybe.... lonnie pulls over to take a suspicious phone call? maybe will figures out an inconsistency in his story? either way, the gang is onto lonnie and figures that they gotta get away from him and get back to joyce and jonathan

they tuck and roll out of the car. idk. all that matters is that they get out of there

as theyre rolling out of the car, el bonks her head a little and has a quick flashback to her time in the lab

since her intuition is always spot on, she takes this as a cue the breener is back and lonnie is working for him

she tells the boys it isnt safe to go back to california or hawkins, so they come up w an alternative plan, somewhere neither brenner nor lonnie would think to look for them

and while theyre on the road, they stop at a diner to eat (dont ask me where they got the money) and we get will leaving an emotional voicemail home, probably sobbing to jonathan about how much he means to will, which gives el an idea

because who has the resources to help her, as well as a desire for vengeance on brenner? kali

el uses her superb hitchiking skills to get them to chicago

maybe she just has some hints of her powers left, but it isnt too hard for el to find kali

she explains everything thats happened, and lets kali know that if she want revenge, the opportunity is hers

unfortunately, lonnie was hot on their trail, and called for reinforcements

theyre ambushed by the few employees brenner has working for him. initially, everyone is hiding, assisted by kali’s powers

but el knows they arent leaving empty handed, and would rather get taken away then have kali’s freedom taken from her

so el reveals herself, followed by mike because he wont leave her, followed by will because he wont leave mike

all three get taken away, back to hawkins lab, but now kali is even more motivated to bring down the lab once and for all

so kali and her gang get to hawkins, almost simultaniously with jonathan, who has been looking for his family in a frenzy since the morning he woke up to find eveyone gone, without even a note or a phone call, as well as argyle, who came along for the ride

the video store is being used as home base this season, so thats the first place they go, where they find steve, shortstaffed and not knowing whats going on because the whole team ditched him

they catch him up to speed on how EVERYONES GONE and steve catches them up to speed on how EVERYONE IS GETTING MURDERED

meanwhile, brenner has three predicaments

1) no matter what he does to el, what kind of torture he inflicts, she isnt using her powers because she doesnt have them. she tells him this several times. he refuses to believe it

2) lonnie byers is demanding his payment, which he didnt recieve because the deal was that he bring el to them, and he couldnt even do that

3) he has to find a way to dispose of mike and will, who he had no intention of bringing into the lab but theyre here and they know everything

and this is the moment where mike screws up by letting them know that people know theyre in the lab and people know about all the experiments and any second now, someones gonna come banging that door down to save us. nancy, jonathan, steve, robin max, lucas, dustin, kali-

and the second mike says her name he knows he screwed up

brenner decides in that moment that all he can do is round up everyone involved and get rid of them. conveniently, the string of murders occurring will serve as a good cover for what happened to them

and this is the part where joyce, murray, and hopper get back to hawkins

this is also the part where nancy and robin and the gang get back to hawkins

so nancy and robin immediately go to the video store armed with all the new information they learned from victor creel

..... and are met with jonathan, argyle, kali, and steve in pandemonium

they close the store for the day, and get ready to storm the lab

they realize that they need something from the school, so they head there to pick it up

and soon after arriving, theyre met with the all to familiar hawkins lab vans

they make a hasty escape, taking out some of the goons but they need to find a way to get the rest off their trail

they head for the woods, hoping to hide out in the cabin

meanwhile, the russia crew has taken the mostly demolished cabin as their haven to recover from whatever injuries they sustained

theyre all running through the woods, but they realize the people from the lab are closing in on them

and then nancy and jonathan pass a very familiar tree

they use whatever weapon they have on them to break through the bark, and head into the upside down

the lab people keep going into the woods, eventually finding hopper’s cabin

epic showdown between the russia crew and the lab people, joyce, murray and hopper win, they realize the lab is back, immediately head there realizing theyre gonna have to rescue someone

nancy and robin use the info they learned from victor creel to keep the gang alive in the upside down, max, argyle and eddie are freaking out because omg we’re in another dimention, we get some big reveal about the truth about the upside down and the gang makes their way out and head to the lab

and while this is all happening,we get some super emotional monologue between brenner and el (ala-the last 10 minutes of the truman show) and brenner realizes that el isnt going to be the naieve superweapn she used to be, and decides the best thing he can do with el is give her the standard punishment, time in the closet

and being in the closet triggers all sorts of flashbacks and emotions (mbb’s opportunity to show off her acting chops for an emmy)

joyce and hopper bust into the lab like they did in season 1, but this time they dont get caught

they decide to split up to cover more ground, and hopper finds el in the closet

and around the same time joyce finds mike and will and gets them out of there

here comes the REAL emotional performance

hopper sees her, we get a teary eyed “el!” “dad!”, and then hopper gets pulled away from el by lab workers

exactly the same way terry did

we’re watching this happen from el’s perspective, with a heart-wrenching “noooooooooo” from el, accompanied by cuts to every time el has had to be separated from someone she cares about (terry, the s1 ending, billy dying, her leaving kali in s2, saying goodbye to everyone on moving day, her being separated from mike and will when they got to the lab) accompanied by some terribly sad 80s song, then back to the present moment, she reaches her hand out and boom, the guards go flying. her powers are back

except she doesnt have control of them the way she did before, and now shes bringing the whole building down

her and hopper race to the the first floor, and meet joyce and the boys, they get out of the building at the very last second, and the whole thing collapses.

eventually they find the other group, the whole team is now together, they go and take down the big bad from the upside down, joyce almost KILLS lonnie

nancy and robin drop a huge bombshell that has to do with hawkins/the upside down, specifically pertaining to el, which they pieced together after talking to victor creel

we get a massive cliffhanger, season 5 starts like 10 minutes after the ending of season 4

I’m too much of an Overthinker

and its bloody annoying.

Okay, some people might be interested to look into my head and see what I’m thinking about - others are not. If you belong to the second group, scroll ahead, this is some personal shit that’s been stuck inside my brain since weeks and it’s bloody exhausting.

So, most of you who read my blog or have talked to me, know that I’m in love with a city called London and I’m planning to move back there in the near future. (October 2018, to be precise) I’ve been struggling a lot lately about the: What happens next? Do I extend my year in the USA to 2019, do I go back home or am I doing something totally different? Well, I talked to a whole bunch of people, including my dad and everyone said I really should move back to London. After all that’s the only place where I feel at home. So at the moment I’m talking to an employer in Clapham, where I’d work 3 times a week and would still have time to apply for jobs in TV/Film and work as a PA for short runs. (yay!)

That is totally cool and I love that thought. Finally having a plan for the future and not worrying about a thing. But then again, sometimes my brain is a bitch (Just as last night when I had that stupid sunstroke) and plays with my emotions. So suddenly I felt regret wash over me for deciding to leave the states. I wanted to live in Washington State or Louisiana, maybe even California and visit so many more cities in the US, such as DC, Savannah, Chicago, Anchorage and a few national parks too.

Then more questions appeared in my head: Would I be able to travel a lot with a new Hostfamily? Would I have enough time to see all those things I planned? Is it worth it to extend for the amount of money I’ll be earning?

Right now I work a lot, 45/h per week for a salary that literally hurts and doesn’t increase if I work nights or national holidays. I have 10 days of paid holidays per year which isn’t a lot considering I have to work christmas, 4th of July , mem day and all those other days, when ‘normal’ employees are off.

See, so much overthinking, it literally hurts my brain!!

I think, the reason why I overthink this topic about staying or leaving so much is because I’m afraid to not be able to travel to the USA again. Which is bullshit because, of course I’ll be able to fly out again to have proper holidays here. But there is this little voice inside my head, making me insecure about my salary, visa, and many small different things. I feel like I suck at saving money, because without savings, I cant make holidays, which would mean I wont be able to visit the USA again. But I also have a friend who’s a financial help for me and would pay a flight ticket probably in a heartbeat (remember last Christmas when he bought me that London ticket???) if I’d ask him.

I can’t explain why my mind is so complicated and why I overthink. If you have an idea to calm my stupid thoughts down: Please, let me know I’d give you a thousand kisses lol

Also, please tell me that going back to London is the right decision. I really need assurance and positive vibes for this step.

I will stop now with this rant and I hope i havent confused you too much. If you have thoughts about this, talk to me. Message me and let me know what you think. Talking about it helps me actually get my shit together.

Bulls Start Strong But Fall To Talented Thunder

We’re heard so much about fighting with these Bulls that you almost wonder if the films they are watching involve Mike Tyson. And then Monday in their 121-96 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder it moved into the basketball ring, at least with some shoving and glaring, four technical fouls and a bug eyed Robin Lopez eventually ejected.

"To be honest with you, it’s really not that big of a deal,” said Bulls coach Jim Boylen, who did some refereeing duty in holding back provocateur Jerami Grant. “Those things used to happen all the time. Now they happen and it’s like a major deal. It’s not that big a deal. Everybody moved on.”

And the Bulls finally back home after a week on the road in two countries, three cities, more than 4,000 miles and more than a dozen traveling staff cases of, well, some ugly not feeling well.

“We continue as a travel party to kind of fight some type of bug,” Boylen acknowledged in saying that Jabari Parker took sick Monday and was inactive. Of course, the way the rotation has gone he wasn’t playing, anyway. Well, maybe with G-league two-way player Rawle Alkins making his NBA debut in a lineup with Cristiano Felicio and Antonio Blakeney after the Bulls trailed by 30 points with four minutes left.

Yes, it can make you sick, too, though not all that surprising a result considering the Thunder loss in Chicago last week, Zach LaVine still out injured and players perhaps fatigued from the nightly sprints to the toilet.

“I liked our start,” said Boylen (15-10 Bulls lead, though trailing 31-22 by the end of the quarter). “I thought we were in control of the game a little bit. And I felt they made some shots, some tough shots, and we didn’t respond very well. Then, the game got away from us.”

The Bulls were led by Lauri Markkanen and Bobby Portis with 16 points each and Markkanen with 15 rebounds. Kris Dunn had 12 points and seven assists and Cameron Payne with 11 points and six assists. Russell Westbrook had a triple double with 13 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists with five steals. The Bulls committed 25 turnovers, though the Thunder had 20.

But the last half of the second quarter pretty much ended the Bulls hopes with a 25-7 Thunder rumble led by Paul George with 23 points in the first half. That left the Bulls trailing 64-44 at the half — there was no Spurs Saturday night massacre and comeback this time — as the principal second half discussion was the pushing and shoving and Boylen’s headlock on Grant with 4:27 left in the third quarter and the Bulls trailing 82-61.

It hadn’t been a particularly rough or dirty or angry game, though Westbrook always appears a bit unhinged.

This time as Cameron Payne just ahead of him on the sideline was fouling Terrance Ferguson, Westbrook pushed Dunn. Dunn, back for just his fourth game this season and often playing with an angry edge and painted on glare, immediately pushed back.

 “Things just got out of hand,” said Dunn, who has been terse in interviews.

“I was just trying to stand up for KD,” explained Lopez, who also joked, as he is wont to do when not snarling on the court, about the officials misunderstanding his trying to help them when he later drew his second technical foul. “I saw somebody flying out of the corner of my eye from the other side of the floor and I was just trying to stand up for my point guard right there.”

That was the charging Grant, who seemed to come after Dunn and shoved Lopez, the latter who tumbled into the high roller row of seats. Lopez came up gesturing and apparently suggesting something other than the good manners of Jerami’s uncle, Horace. Boylen helped lead Grant away in an embrace.

“Obviously, we don’t want to back down,” said Payne, who previously played for the Thunder. “KD felt like he got pushed, so we got to ride with our team.”

Lopez, historically, wasn’t about to be present for much longer and rode his way out later in the quarter with a well-timed drop of the ball on Grant after a foul with played stopped. Thunder center Steven Adams was getting a good laugh out of it as Boylen escorted Lopez from the game.

“He’s (Lopez) a competitive dude,” said Boylen. “He cares about the team and he’s not going to back down. He’s got a great soul and a great spirit. He’s a Bull. Kris Dunn’s a tough kid. He’s going to stand his ground. He’s a very respectful kid, but everybody has a trigger point. I thought he felt he needed to do that.”

The Thunder, 19-10, led 88-69 after three quarters and then finished off the 7-24 Bulls with Westbrook running back to back fast breaks to close off a 13-4 spurt and 107-81 Thunder lead midway through the fourth quarter.

“We’ve just got to take everything we can and learn and grow,” said Boylen. “We’ve got to continue working on our poise, not turning it over, make simple plays. We’ve got a willing group in there. They want to please. They’re trying to do the right things, and we just need to play better.”

Speaking of those fast breaks, however, is the difference with these Bulls under Boylen. They fell into nine points that way Monday (27 for Oklahoma City), but the Bulls are certainly not trying to very often.

It seems apparent, and perhaps understandable with their best scorer sidelined, that Boylen has opted for a slowdown style of play. Which did work well against the Spurs because it was coupled with aggressive defensive play. Which is why Ryan Arcidiacono remains the starting point guard — Dunn actually is, but sort of starts off the ball — Shaquille Harrison is a regular and Lopez plays more.

It’s not a new theory in the NBA, if not exactly old school.

It’s the thinking that if you don’t have as much talent as the opponent, you slow the game down, walk the ball up, play half court, cut the number of possessions and stay in the game and maybe you can make some shots in the fourth quarter and steal a close game. Then if you defend aggressively, which has been Boylen’s prime directive, you can win some games. Like the way the Bulls turned around the Spurs game in the third quarter with steals.

But it’s challenging to score 100 points that way, and it’s difficult winning games in this more free flowing NBA without scoring 100 points. Plus, a team has to make more tough shots that way because of fewer open court opportunities. And it’s a change from the theories of former coach Fred Hoiberg, who emphasized passing ahead and running out.

Plus, you mostly need someone to break through with a big scoring game, or, at least, timely shots like Dunn did Saturday. There was no one for that against the Thunder, though Portis had a bit of a third quarter run before the commotion.

That’s when a player like LaVine can keep a team in the game now that Parker has been banished. Which is probably why the Bulls have to begin playing through Markkanen more. Markkanen did get 17 shot attempts Monday, but too many were quick perimeter jumpers. Markkanen was effective several times on the boards keeping balls alive and finishing. He has an inside edge being quicker than a big man like Adams and bigger than the backup Nerlens Noel. But the Thunder, like most NBA teams these days, do constant switching. That left smaller players too often on Markkanen. It’s an issue that’s been nothing new for these Bulls.

Markkanen is quicker and stronger than he seems and a better passer. He’s really the one player with LaVine out who draws the most defensive attention. Dunn got off to a quick start with six points and three of four shooting in the first seven minutes. But he attempted just four more shots the rest of the game. Though defenders go under Dunn on screens because of his weak three-point shooting, Dunn has developed a nice knack for his elbow jumper and getting through the defense to the basket. He needs to get to the free throw line more, as well.

But Markkanen has the best overall offensive game among the group with an ability to get his shot off in a crowd and get to the basket. Plus, he’s unselfish and will make a play. Until LaVine returns, he needs to be more in the middle of things.

The Bulls were ahead for a while early behind Dunn. Oklahoma City then had a 12-0 run as the Bulls went to the bench. The Bulls made their last effective run early in the second quarter with some nice moves from Payne to draw within 39-37 with 5:50 left in the half. Then it was the tornado named George who came roaring in for five straight scores, the last a pair of threes and the Bulls were looking for shelter.

Rookie Wendell Carter Jr. had just two fouls in the first half with six points on some nice rolls to the basket on Dunn assists. But Carter drew three fouls in the first five minutes of the third quarter and left the court clearly distraught. He also could be employed more given he’ll finish and has good hands and a nice shooting touch. But he likely been flustered again by the surfeit of fouls.

So the Bulls did push back. But more when the game wasn’t going on this time.

You are still the best guy I’ve ever met, and apart of me believes you always will be. I know I’ll always love you, even if at times i’ll tell my friends I hate you and don’t need you. To be honest, I’m mad at you, and I’m trying to hold on to that for as long as I can. I’m mad you couldn’t look me in the eyes and let me go, I’m mad you rocked my world behind your phone screen while I lay in my driveway ruined. I’m mad my mother had to peel me off the bathroom floor every night until she went back home. I’m mad that you gave up on me without letting me know you must have been letting me go for awhile. I know eventually the anger will fade and I’ll start to look for little pieces of you in everyone I meet, I’ll always hope to hear a mustang pull into the driveway. I’ll hope I can find someone to make the drive to Tahoe go to fast due to laughing and love. I’ll hope he will drink coffee in bed while comparing facebook stories and videos. I hope he’ll let me kiss him on the cheek whenever I choose. I hope he’ll sit in traffic after dropping me off at the airport and not be mad. I’ll secretly hope he’s you.. but he wont be.

Today was garbage day, where my notebook of letters to you that you never got to read were thrown away knowing one day those were supposed to go to you on our 1 year or whenever I chose. Maybe some will fly out and a helpless girl like I am right now, will find them and find hope that good guys exist and love is real even though she won’t know I lost it.

One day you’ll be the story I tell my daughter, when It’s my turn to peel her off the bathroom floor, when she hasn’t eaten in days, when she hasn’t been able to sleep because the goodbye that broke her shatters her bones reappear all over again every time she closes her eyes. I’ll crawl into bed with her and try to brush him out of her hair, and her tears will soak through my shirt, and she’ll tell me “I thought he was the one.”, and i’ll to tell her about a man with the eyes more blue then any sky I’ve ever seen who I too thought was the one, and how he broke me too.

One day this sharp pain in my lungs will turn into an ache. We never got to say a proper goodbye, and I know you are long gone, but I have all these words inside I never got the chance to say. I hope you feel them, the way I feel them on my skin as if you never left. I keep telling myself that you were never meant to be mine, but my heart says otherwise. I loved you in a way I can never make sense of, and that’ll never go away. I wasn’t done loving you...

You’ll love sooner then you think, and I have to accept that. She will be flawless, maybe a little less make up and hopefully a lot less anxiety. She’ll match you in education, ambition and be the most perfect match. I hope she always tells you how you’re handsome, I hope she’ll bury her head in your chest and wrap her arm and leg on the other side. I hope she’ll soon realize when you ask her how much you love her, she’ll immediately get up to get you water. I’m sorry I can’t be your friend Austen. I didn’t go on dates and love you to be just a friend with you, and for that I hope you understand. It hurts to bad, and right now it hurts so bad I believe I can never just be your friend. It’s unfortunate that I also believe that I never want to get close to anyone ever again. I can’t imagine going through this again.

I’ve said it, and I’ll say it again. Thank you for the best months of my life. Even though my anxiety and struggles covered up how happy I really was.. I was never happier.. I’m sorry I didn’t prove that to you..

We get one life on this earth.. that is all we get. Whether we feel if it is enough or not enough.It doesn’t matter. We would be fools if we do not live it as fully, bravely and beautifully as we can, even though it gets messy. I feel the same way about our love. Two questions: what are some favorite shows that you've seen? Maybe not a "best ever" (I know those are often hard to settle on), but a few that jump out. I just picked up a fairly dark charcoal herringbone tweed sportcoat from the thrift store. I'm pretty confident about shirt pairings, but less so about pants. What are your thoughts?

Shows, you mean concerts? Here’s a few off the top of my head:

I usually tell people that the best show I’ve ever seen was the Wrens at Williams College in the spring of 2004. They were touring on the Meadowlands, so the set list featured that heavily, but they also played a little bit of the first record, and about half of Secaucus. Why this show in particular? Especially after having seen them several times before and since? You know that feeling when you’re watching a really good movie, and you get so caught up in it that you forget about everything else, you don’t want to check your watch or your phone, you don’t care if you have to pee, you’re just like, in the zone, this show felt like that. Everything outside that room stopped existing for however long they played for in the most beautiful way. I was dancing my ass off, singing along, just having the most amazing time, and the band was really feeding off the crowd, getting sweaty, jumping around, climbing things, hugging each other like crazy. They played this version of ‘Indie 500′ that must have been like 8 minutes long where all of the sudden it was a bossa nova, and now it’s a polka, and now it’s a ska song, but it was always still the same song. The other thing that stick out is that being that crazy guy right up front, who was in the midst of some heavy geeking out on these guys, I had read just about everything I could find about them online, every review, every blog post, every interview. One of these had mentioned that at certain shows they covered ‘Two Headed Boy’ by Neutral Milk Hotel, which really stuck with me for some reason, because come the encore I yelled it out a couple of times, and they played it. Which was highly improbable for many reasons (how supposedly rare this was, how much of an odd fit that is for a cover, the fact that this was 2004 and Jeff Mangum was still very much in his hermit phase, and not in his cash-in festival headlining phase). So they played it, but the funny thing was, Kevin (the lead singer) only remembered like half the words, so I was helping him from the front row, singing along really loud, and they were all loving it. The following fall when I saw them again, I spoke with Jerry the drummer before the set about this whole experience and I was gushing and we were both laughing. Later on when they played ‘Boys You Won’t Remember,’ he climbs out from behind the kit and pulls me up on stage to sing backing vocals and hand percussion, and it was totally because of that night out in Williamstown.

Otherwise, I saw Wilco at the tail end of the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot tour at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia (in ‘02). They played for like 2.5 hours, all of YHF, and about half of both Being There and Summerteeth. Those three albums are like the holy trinity of Wilco for me, so I was losing it. Oh, and Califone opened that show, and at the time I kind of hated them, but now they’re one of my all time favorites.

In the Winter of ‘07 I saw Times New Viking play in a basement arts space in Chicago, they had recently put out a record called ‘Presents the Paisley Reich’ that I was super into. We were drinking Old Styles and moshing like crazy when they played ‘Devo and Wine.’

More recently, I saw Strand of Oaks touring on Heal at a local venue called Great Scott. There was so much shredding, and fist pumping, and flying hair, it was insane.

I helped get Animal Collective booked for the Spring Concert at my alma mater in ‘05. They had just blown up with ‘Sung Tongs,’ but as they were wont to do at the time, they were touring only playing new stuff, and were just absolutely destroying everything on ‘Feels’ and it was a free outdoor show under a tent, so there was just this massive crowd moving as one to the music. I also saw them a couple of years later at a University in Zagreb, Croatia and was equally blown away.

The Mrs. took us to see Jason Isbell recently at the House of Blues, and I’ve always been blown away by his songwriting, but to see that paired with his crazy stage presence, and how f’n cute he and his wife are together we were just loving it so so much.

After going to Pitchfork fest in Chicago 3 or 4 times over the years, the one performance that really stuck with me was Women playing on the small stage, touring on their first record. It was one of those situations were I took a friend with me to the set, and she had no idea going in, and was thanking me for insisting when it was over.

I saw Sunset Rubdown in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2009 or ‘10 when they were touring on Dragonslayer, and after seeing Moonface and Wolf Parade several times that may be my favorite Spencer Krug related performance. The venue was crazy, this punk collective that had this real Peter Pan and the Lost Boys vibe to it, and the crowd was loving it. There’s something really powerful about watching foreign fans connect intensely with such esoteric music.

I should probably stop there, but I can totally go on...

Oh and as for the blazer, that should work with standard khakis, jeans, and lighter grey trousers.

Shipping my car from Seattle to Chicago. Advice?

Hopefully this is the best subreddit to post this. If not, please redirect me to the appropriate place.

I am 20, F, and moving to Chicago from Seattle for school. I have a Toyota Camry ‘99, 161k miles. Before I decide what to do, I have a few things I need to do to prep my car.

Around 6 months back I went to a mechanic for my engine light being on. They told me it was an electrical issue, that my engine and car is fine (I had issues with it electrically for as long as I had my car, which the mechanic did fix). Since then have had no issues. The only thing they told me was that in the near future I may want to replace some part in my hood that affects my transmission, that not replacing it will/could eventually cause harm to my engine/transmission because the part itself is worn down. I have a diagram with more information about it but I don’t have it in front of me so this is the best way I can describe it (please forgive me I am not good at explaining ANYTHING car related). They told me it would be around $200 to fix.

I will also need to get year round tires for all types of weather, since i’m moving to chicago I will have to deal with harsher weather especially during the winter months. My current tires need to be replaced. That itself is an expense, even with good quality but cheaper off brand tires.

I was quoted by 10+ moving companies for cars between 700-900 to ship, insurance included. I will also be able to ship 100-150lbs of belongings inside, which would save me a lot on shipping (i wont be shipping furniture). I’m moving into a house with my boyfriend, not a dorm so I have a lot more space.

Money is not an issue, but I am trying to think longterm what is the best option. Do i spend $800 to ship my car, $500+ on my wheels, and $200 to replace that part? (i want to go get another opinion from a different more accredited mechanic before I make any decisions).

Or, do I somehow manage to sell my camry BEFORE JANUARY when classes begin, purchase an older, used honda SUV/4wd car while in Chicago....and ship all of my belongings (I’d estimate $300 since I work at Fedex and can get a discount)? Not to mention some of the SUV’s I looked at are $3000 at the least expensive, I could maybe sell my camry for $2000, so $1000 is out of pocket? Plus what if I need to replace anything on the new car?

I’m really torn, and I don’t want to waste money even if it isn’t a major issue. I also am really nervous for winter. I am not experienced in snow driving, I will not be commuting much besides to and from work, 15 minutes max. But I feel like I may feel safer in a 4WD car or SUV. I’m very ignorant with cars, but I really want to make the best decision in terms of my safety. My camry does not do well in slippery weather, snowy weather in Seattle (tried driving in snow ONCE. Worst experience, I couldn’t move up a hill and got stuck!).

I should add that no matter what decision I make my family will be supporting me with some of the expenses, however, I have a lot saved up. I just want to make the least stressful decision. I also fly standby, and I can fly back and forth for free whenever the next couple months, if I need to purchase a car over in Chicago. I’m not too worried about shipping my car, a lot of the companies have iffy reviews mainly due to late pickups. However, I don’t have a set date my car has to be there so I am very flexible with that. I’m more worried I wouldn’t be able to sell my car before I move (first week of January), and/or that I won’t find a new car fast enough. OR, worse! I purchase a used car and it is perfect for however long, then I realize later on that it has a ton of issues. Ugh!

I’m even more nervous about spending money shipping it, fixing it up, getting new tires, and my car the minute I drive it over there magically having a ton of issues and me needing to buy a new one anyway. Anxiety, but still a concern I have.

So I was driving along the turnpike here in Oklahoma the other day when I noticed a vibration I was pushing 70mph at the most in my 1998 ford ranger when i noticed this. my truck was valued by the claims adjuster at $5800 As the vibration continued I pulled over and slowed down right then I noticed and felt my tire tread from the rear drivers side fly out and do some damage to the bed the tire still had air in it but when i got out to look my tread had flown completely off along with some other truck pieces. The adjuster said more then likely the belt slipped or snapped or something along those lines the damage total was $2,695.00 less my $500.0 deductible the insurance will pay the remaining balance. it would have totaled out had the repair cost more the 50% of the value of the truck. Now my question will be tricky to answer because everyone has a different driving record I haven't filed a claim sense 2004 I hit a car ! guilty I have had speeding tickets but not sense 2007 I had one guy try and file a claim against me in 2008 he said i backed into him but he didn't carry insurance and had no proof and the claim was never paid out so I'm pretty sure my rates will go up come time for renewal I'm just trying to see by how much? can i call progressive would they tell me? do they even know???? recently suffered total loss due to fire of my car and claimed on my insurance policy they came and valued the car after the accident and then took 300 quid off for policy excess however it clearly states in their policy that they cover permanently fitted radio/audio equipment to max of 500 euro , fair enough so i submitted my claim to cover the radio which was destroyed with the car as a result of fire , cost of cd/radio was 149.00 in argos but company now say that their definition of permanently fitted radio is one that has been fitted in the factory when car was made but my car is secondhand and had a sony cd/radio fitted when i bought the car . I work 2 part time jobs and neither offer health insurance, so in 2014 I will have to buy some. One comparable to the one I had when I worked a full time job would cost $600 a month but would cover prescriptions with a $20 copay for generics with a $1500 deductible and a $4500 out of pocket maximum. That is out of what I can afford. The one I can afford is only $219 a month but has a $7500 deductible which would have to be met for any benefits and there is a $12,500 out of pocket maximum. If I got very sick I would be wiped out with that one, so it seems that I am in a Catch 22. I don't make that much money ($8 and $10 for the 2 jobs where I work 24 and 18 hours a week respectively.) Now I just pay the doctor out of pocket and I paid $375 this year for office visits and $150 for medicine. That was affordable and now I am forced to pay a premium in addition to the same amounts I paid for the same service. This thing is making me nervous. Affordable to me is no insurance. Why do I have to pay extra for changing address with my insurance company?

I recently moved and changed the details on my drivers licence and log book. When I called the insurance company to do the same they said i would need to pay 60 to cover the cost of the change between now and the renewal period (which at the time was approx 6 weeks away). All of this was AFTER they took my previous and new address to confirm my ID. When I asked them why this was as I had paid my entire premium in full last year (so as not to incur direct debit charges) they just repeated themselves. I did not have the 60 and said well I will just stay at the previous address (my ex-boyfriends) until my renewal comes through and I will change address then. However...my renewal has just come through in my NEW address but with postcode where vehicle kept overnight as my OLD address!! What does this actually mean?? surely if I have to make a claim it doesn't matter where the vehicle is kept esp as they have my address and the majority of claims do not happen at your residence!!! I have read the policy back to front and they even added amendments this year to include admin charges and NOWHERE does it mention being charged for change of address. I have held a full uk driving licence for 14 years.......my husband (who has a provisional licence) was put on my new policy last year as a named driver. Today, he passed his test, so to keep it all legal, i contacted the insurance to advise of change of circs. I expected the monthly premiums to rise a little, but what happened next confused and angered me and I really need to know if there is anything I can do......he we go....they said they could no longer insure me and my husband and that they would cancel the policy and were gving me 7 days notice before this happened, (why cant it just be amended, i know loads of people that have done this) they said it was a special deal for me because i had a provisional driver as my named driver..(to me this makes no sense, they work on risk, surely they wouldnt give special deals for unexperienced drivers?) but the icing on the cake they want to charge a 40 cancellation fee, however i am not cancelling they are??? also i can take out a new policy with them which i have to pay an admin fee for making a change to the policy, however it is supposedly a brand new policy??? Has anyone any idea what to do or any ideas? i know I could just change insurers however it would be easier and cheaper to stay with who i'm with and I was never told when I took the policy that if my husband passed his test this one would be void..........and this is more principle as I dont like being hadover, I am going to phone and kick off tomorrow, but want to know if anyone has any solid rules and regs on this. Hi we've been with USAA for over 10 yrs now for our Auto/Recreation insurance company. This month on our bill i noticed our rates went up by 35+ dollars per month. I called and they said nothing has changed in our policy. They told us because the dates our policy renewed we have an extra bill in this cycle. Drunken 2 AM Thoughts on a Plane

(Disclaimer: I was pretty tipsy while I was writing this, but I took at nap at some point and it became my drunken thoughts but being able to discuss them while being sober. I know I am rambling through a lot but it just shows where my head is at right now…) I am currently drinking my third beer of the night on a plane home. By home I mean the motherland, Mexico. To me Mexico will always be home because it allows me to feel free, and to be surrounded by people that share common values and ideas that I have. I feel more accepted in Mexico compared to how it’s like in Chicago. I’m not saying that I hate being in Chicago, because I don’t’ there is just too much that has happened that reminds me that things will get bad. Chicago is my hometown, and it’s what has allowed me to experience so many things that I have learned from, but unfortunately, it is also the epicenter of depression and everything that is wrong with me. When I’m in Chicago I am full of stress and I am the most pessimistic person I know. I always see the negative side of things when it deals to me, and when it deals with my friends I will always want them to succeed. But when it comes to me, I am the worst of everything and it has to do with how I see that people interact with me. It’s really shitty, and I know that it is, but in all honestly I thought that people didn’t give a shit about me. It was hard to think about, especially because I care about everyone but I would see that the feelings would not be reciprocal. It really affects on how I see my friends that I have in college. I remember I went into college with the mindset that I didn’t need anyone because I had my friends from high school. But I’m glad that I reached out to other people because some of the friends that I had in high school were actually really toxic. They were those type of people that would gas you up, and then watch you crash and laugh at whatever would happen to you. It didn’t hit me how shitty they actually were until I made friends in college. The friends I made in college have been among some of the nicest people I have ever met. Throughout these four years, I have met the most thoughtful, intelligent, protective and caring people. I don’t know what I would do without them. I know that I am difficult to deal with at times, because I’m stupid, I don’t listen and I think I know it all, but they really know how to deal with me. It’s like to them I’m just another family member. Especially with the group of friends that I have made this year, they are like family. I am extremely appreciative of all of them. They are making my last year of college extremely memorable, and I do owe them a lot, whether they would like to think so or not. There is still a lot they don’t know about me, and I’m very hesitant to tell them, because I’m scared they are going to leave… I really hope I’m wrong and they stick around for a long time. The altitude and alcohol are not a good mix, but it’s okay. I’m used to this. That within itself is scary. I know that my alcohol tolerance since Madrid has increased. And that’s really because I am using alcohol as a coping mechanism when it comes to my depression. See when something major happens that I want to make sure I forget, I just drink all those thoughts away. But the thing is that I have been doing that too often that I just forget what the fuck I’m actually doing. But the thing is, similar to Madrid, I’m drinking to the point of blacking out. I feel that it’s going to be an ongoing process especially in the month of November because of what November was for me. The event that occurred when I was in Madrid really fucked me up, and I feel that I just want to be drunk most of the time, because it just comes back and haunts me in the worse ways. Most of the times I can be hanging out and all of a sudden I’ll be back in the room, not knowing what’s going on, feeling numb to the situation and hearing him moan. It hurts because my body becomes paralyzed not knowing what to do, but I don’t know who I can talk to about that. I’m not scared when it comes to sex, I’ve had it since then, but when people touch me without telling me my body just freezes up sometimes and my life goes into a sudden panic. I know that they don’t know that, but I need to tell someone without getting drunk and thinking that this problem could be fixed with alcohol. The thing about telling someone about what happened is that I don’t even know what happened, it happened so rapidly, and I just remember I kept saying no. I didn’t want it, and afterward I just felt dirty. I felt like I didn’t deserve anyone to love me, and that everyone was just going to do whatever they wanted with me because I’m too loose. And I thought it was my karma for being a hoe when I was younger, like it finally came to bite me in the ass. But I have never felt as bad as I did that day, and when I was told my truths about being a slut and a whore by my host-mom….I know I should talk about this to my counselor, especially not being able to sleep. My insomnia got worse after that incident, and it’s starting to get bad because it’s on my mind and I haven’t really talked about it. But I know that the increase of drinking patterns and just drinking to forget comes from that… and it’s not healthy. But I’m trying to work on it….(granted this is my 2AM drunk thoughts) It’s times like when you’re flying over these little cities that it all makes sense. There is so much more out there than we want to talk about. As I’m on the plane right now I’m seeing all these little cities, and places that have light that maybe not everyone goes too, and what is the reality that is there. What is the purpose of traveling if we are not willing to go to the places where others haven’t gone to find ourselves. It is throughout the process, the moment, in which we get to know one another, is the moment that we know who we really are. Every time that I leave and go somewhere, it just warms my heart knowing that I will not come back the same way. Most of the times it’s just this need and want to be at peace with oneself. For me it really is just to get away from the things that are hurting me, and starting anew, and getting in touch with who I am and what I want to remember me being. Throughout the last year I really lost myself, I lost myself because I noticed that I had no one to turn to. The people who I thought were stable were not there anymore, and I felt lost. I felt that no matter where I went it was not going to be okay. The last time I went on an adventure back home to Puebla, it was horrible. It was anxiety attacks after attacks. I could not enjoy being at home because it was just hurting me. And I couldn’t do that anymore. It was as if I was just letting whatever was bothering at that point consume me until I was no longer strong enough to function. I had anxiety attacks all day before getting home because I was scared that coming home again this time would be the same reaction. I’m scared of not being able to reconnect or find myself when I get home. I don’t know if people really understand what Puebla is to me. It’s where I can be Katia, and no one can judge me. It’s the first place where someone looked at me and told me that I was the glue that held the family together. The first time that someone told me that I have the gift of feeling where I can understand what others are going through. The first time I went to a funeral and understood the real meaning of losing someone that loved you. The first time someone disappointed me and walked out on me. Puebla is my birthplace because it’s the only way that I know I exist. There are many times when enough is enough. When the people that promised they would never hurt you, end up being the biggest cracks in your heart. As humans we are not prepared for such heartache, and if we are we are not really instructed on what to do. There are times that this heartaches hurt to the point where your body becomes numb, letting the abuser take complete and total control over oneself. At this point it’s like we are allowing the abuser to take control and we (I am including myself in this) just let them. This time, that I left, the person that I usually listen too, and follow around like a little puppy showed me that he is nothing but the average man. He does not care about what is going on in my life, especially when there comes times that I need someone there for me who was willing to help me when my life was a complete shit show. I guess I got used to him being there for me, but I really never noticed that the way he was there for me was by hurting me and gas-lighting me. I’m slowly coming to that point where I’m done with him, and I just want to tell him that I don’t want to be there anymore, but at the same time I know how hard it is for him to get out of the box that he put himself in. He is alone right now; those who were always with him are no longer there. I knew what it was like to come back and feel out of place, but he is doing the thing when he’s in a relationship and he just ignores me. He has the tendency of making the people who he cares about to fight against each other, and this time I don’t really want to compete with anyone. If he doesn’t want me to be around, I wont be around. When I told him I wanted to see him today before I left, it’s because I usually see him before I leave to Mexico. I just don’t want what happened with the other person to happen to him. I think when I’m ready to let go of him I will, and if this means now, then I really have no other choice than to do what I need to do in order to be happy. I’m going to be arriving in Mexico City soon, and I’m happy. I feel at peace because I feel that I’m going to be able to connect with who I was and honestly I miss that Katia. I said before whomever ‘Katie’ is no longer here, to me ‘Katie’ is dead. But I have so much faith that Katia is going to find herself and she is going to be the fierce, strong, independent, intelligent, etc. xingona I know she is. Lastly, I want to give a shout out to the person who told me to make this blog, I thought it was going to be stupid at first but I have been able to speak my mind without regretting anything. So you know who you are, and thank you for helping me out, even though I’m bougie and annoying, much love much love.
