Posthumous Admiral's Log - Entry 34
Something terrible has happened, and it is all Admiral Motti’s fault.
I did exactly what I was supposed to do. I arranged my very masculine duel with Motti during my biweekly lunch break. It truly ought to have been a straightforward fight. However, Needa decided to stick his nose into other people’s business and try to get us to call off the duel. At that point, Jerjerrod’s nerves got the best of him (how typical), and he also attempted to have us call off the fight. I suppose that for all his recent stupidity, Jerjerrod still has enough of a brain to fear the prospect of fighting Max Veers. Unfortunately, Motti refused to concede, and by then, there was already an audience of several troopers and officers. It would have been embarrassing to call off the fight.
Now, the fight was originally set to take place in a dark alley. However, the Imperial afterlife only has one dark alley, and apparently, you can only have a public event there if you have a reservation. I will admit that I was unaware of this and consequently didn’t know that the Death Trooper Holiday Choir had booked the alley for rehearsals.
So, Jerjerrod had the bright idea that we ought to have our fight with the Vortex, formerly the MAVD, in the background “for ambiance”. Jerjerrod has always been obsessed with silly things like ambiance. He used to tell me that my quarters on the Executor looked dreary and lacked “a pleasing ambiance”, whatever the stars that means. All the while, the DS-II had a gigantic gaping hole in the side of it, but clearly my private office space was the greatest aesthetic travesty in the Empire at the time.
At any rate, both Max and I thought that the Vortex was far too unstable to have a fight nearby. But then, Motti insisted on the venue, and all the Stormtroopers started jeering at me for being a coward. So, we decided it would be alright to duel near the Vortex so long as we all stood ten paces away from it.
In retrospect, perhaps we ought to have established the protocol for the fight more clearly beforehand. By virtue of his size, Motti had me pinned down in a matter of seconds, to which I responded by kneeing him in the groin. I have been told I have very bony knees and therefore, I assume it was quite painful. At least, I hope it was. I’ve found that one’s afterlife sensation of pain can be very variable, and I don’t know what Motti’s is like. Either way, Needa called that a foul. So, we had to start over again.
The problem is, Needa kept calling fouls before we could reach a decisive end to the fight. He also kept complaining that we were too close to the Vortex. At this point, Motti and I were both quite fed up with him, and I believe that, whether intentionally or not, we started moving closer to the Vortex in retaliation.
By the time we were on our 10th try at a proper fight, I was getting very tired of being pinned down by Motti. He’d gotten better at dodging, so I couldn’t kick him anymore, which was no fun at all. Eventually, we got to a point where he had his arms around my neck, but I was unwilling to surrender. So, I shifted my footing and started to drag him down with me. It seems he wasn’t expecting this, because he lost his balance and we both tumbled into the Vortex.
When I opened my eyes, I immediately knew we were no longer in the Imperial afterlife.
Now, Motti and I are trapped on a strange planet, full of jagged rocks and lightning. The entire planet smells like old Coruscanti cologne. It’s a scent I haven’t had to endure since entering Emperor Palpatine’s throne room which brings back awful memories of horrible battle strategies. Everything about this place is sinister and uncanny. I don’t like it one bit.
At first, I thought we’d stumbled into the Rebel Scum afterlife. The COMPNOR brochures used to claim that the Rebel Scum afterlife was a dull hole of loneliness, after all. However, I have now concluded that this world is in the living realm. I know this because Motti tried to throw me into a boulder, and I passed right through it unscathed. I hate when that happens. Walking through walls was only fun for the first week or so that I was dead. Now, being intangible only makes me feel more insignificant and unvalued than I do on a usual basis.
I’ve heard of spirits falling down from the afterlife before, though I’d never experienced it myself until now. Krennic was pushed out of the afterlife after systematically making everyone hate him. He came back afterwards, much to everyone’s disappointment. After a few more case studies on the matter, we found that all spirits return to the afterlife eventually, if one is willing to wait to “fade”. “Fade” is, of course, the polite term we use for “decompose a second time”.
Now, I’ve never actually decomposed before. (The Rebel Scum never gave me a chance to do that.) I’m not too keen on giving it a try, but it seems I may have no choice. The only other option is to have someone exorcise me back to the land of the dead. This is challenging because there doesn’t seem to be anyone living on this planet.
Well, I suppose if there isn’t any way around it, I hope I decompose soon. Saying as I am still intangible, it may take a while. Perhaps there is a way to speed up the process. I miss my Star Destroyer in the clouds and my pocket dimension. I miss my dear Max and our long nights together after kriffing in the backseat of his AT-AT, musing about all the ways we could have crushed the Rebellion. Stars, I almost miss Lord Vader. I’ve gotten so used to having his shadow of murderous rage looming over me that now, I feel like something is missing.
For now, there is nothing I can do but stare angrily at Motti for the mess he’s gotten me into. I’d like very much to curse at him, but we’re giving each other the silent treatment, and I can’t be the first to concede.
-Admiral Piett

Windows Virtual Desktop
The Power of Cloud in your hand: Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop!
The cloud has brought a lot of power and flexibility to businesses of all sizes. From small businesses to large enterprises, the cloud is changing the way we work. And one of the most exciting applications of the cloud is virtual desktop computing.
youtube
Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (MAVD) is a cloud-based desktop solution that allows users to access their applications and data from anywhere, on any device. MAVD is built on Microsoft Azure, which provides a secure, reliable, and scalable platform for virtual desktop deployments.
How does Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop work?
MVD works by providing users with a virtual desktop that is hosted in the cloud. MVD uses Microsoft Azure to host the virtual desktop and allows users to connect to their virtual desktop from any device.
To use MVD, businesses must create a Windows Virtual Desktop image. This image can be created using the Microsoft Azure portal or a third-party tool. Once the virtual desktop image is created, businesses must deploy it to the Azure cloud.
Once the Azure Virtual Desktop is deployed, businesses can add users and applications to their virtual desktops. Users can then connect to their virtual desktop from any device.
Why use Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop?
There are many reasons why using the Windows Virtual Desktop Cloud solution is best for your business.
Here are just a few of them:
1. Increased productivity
MVD allows users to be more productive by accessing their applications and files from any location.
2. Reduced IT costs
MVD can help businesses reduce their IT costs because they do not need to maintain a physical infrastructure for their virtual desktop solution.
Tumblr media
3. Increased security
MVD provides businesses with increased security because all data is stored in the cloud. Businesses do not need to worry about data breaches or losing data if their physical infrastructure is damaged.
4. Flexibility
MVD is a flexible solution that can be customized to meet the specific needs of your business.
How Much Does Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Cost?
The cost of MVD depends on the number of users and the number of virtual desktops deployed. MVD is a pay-as-you-go service, so businesses only need to pay for the resources they use.
Microsoft Azure offers a free trial for MVD. This free trial allows businesses to try MVD without incurring any costs. After the free trial, businesses can pay for Azure Windows Virtual Desktop Licensing and subscription charges through the Azure portal.
Is Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop Right For My Business?
MVD is a great solution for businesses that want to provide their employees with the ability to work remotely.
MVD is also a great solution for businesses that have employees that need to access business applications from different locations.
Endnote:
If you are considering MVD for your business, we recommend that you contact a Microsoft Azure partner to get started.
Microsoft Azure partners are experts in deploying and managing MVD solutions. They can help you determine if MVD is right for your business and help you get started with MVD.
Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop is your solution whether you are looking to improve your productivity or work flexibly. With its many benefits, MVD is the future of computing.

Posthumous Admiral's Log - Entry 24
It turns out that the odd noise I heard earlier was not a minor issue as I had hoped. I still don’t know how I’m going to explain this debacle to Grand Moff Tarkin.
The moment I emerged from my pocket dimension, I felt that something was out of place about the Imperial afterlife. It seemed much emptier than usual. Normally, we have a rather nice fleet set-up besides the usual foggy void ambience, though we still have plenty of empty void space. However, I immediately noticed that much of our fleet was missing, which of course resulted in a large number of unhappy spirits ambling about without homes.
The next thing I knew, Jerjerrod dashed up to me and started blabbering something about how Needa’s exorcism plans had gone terribly wrong and I needed to fix things right away.
At this point, I was much too tired for this. I’d been taking a nap prior to this debacle and very much wanted to return to my dream in which Veers and I were in an AT-AT stomping on Rebel cruisers. But I am first and foremost, still Fleet Admiral in death. So, I went along with Jerjerrod and found Needa standing in front of what appeared to be a massive, amorphous vortex of doom.
Now, vortexes are nothing new in the afterlife. Most of them are harmless. However, this one looked rather intimidating, and it was roughly the size of a hangar.
It took a great deal of shouting and finger-pointing but eventually, I managed to get the full story from Needa.
It would appear that Needa, Motti, Jerjerrod and a crew of about 50 other idiotic Imperial personnel decided to prepare their exorcism while I was on the double date with Veers, Lord Vader and Padmé. In their extremely misguided mindset, they believed it would be a good idea to prepare these things so as to exorcise Lord Vader upon his return. However, Needa evidently misinterpreted the archaic Sith texts they were working on, resulting in the Massive Amorphous Vortex of Doom which has thus far consumed five of our Star Destroyers. I do not know whether the implications end there. We may very well have invoked a curse of some sort as well.
Normally, the standard post-mortem Imperial protocol concerning new vortexes dictates that we should identify the one responsible for creating the vortex and push them down to test where it goes. However, this one seems quite nasty, and as livid as I am with Needa, Motti and Jerjerrod, I wouldn’t feel good throwing any of them into the Massive Amorphous Vortex of Doom.
So far, we have attempted suctioning the Massive Amorphous Vortex of Doom with a tractor beam in hopes of shrinking it. These attempts were unsuccessful. Several of the Stormtroopers attempted to blast it which was also unsuccessful, though considering how many of the shots missed the target, it’s difficult to say one way or another.
All we’ve accomplished in handling this new development is giving it a name. We are calling it the MAVD (Massive Amorphous Vortex of Doom). Acronyms are an Imperial virtue, after all.
I do not know how I shall hide the MAVD from Lord Vader. He will likely interpret it as evidence that I “turned against him”. To make matters worse, Grand Moff Tarkin is set to return from his Extended Haunt. If there’s a way for me to die a second, excruciating death, I know that either Lord Vader or Grand Moff Tarkin will find it.
I wept about this dilemma a great deal earlier, but now I’m oddly numb to it. I suppose I’m kriffed and saying that there’s truly nothing I can do about it, I’m tempted to return to my nap and wallow in denial.

When you are learning about a new subject, or reading a fascinating story, do you feel a strong desire to know everything about it, and have all your questions answered? Or are you more compelled or inspired by the feelings of mystery surrounding not knowing everything?

listen to me right now andrew hussie i am speaking directly into your ear. everyday mundane pieces of information i love to gather in abundance. i adore having knowledge of all the little things that i just see in everyday life, how they work, who did them, maybe a little history. i like knowing that danny elfman, member of oingo boingo, did a lot of scores for well-known movies with horror & gothic aesthetics, i like knowing the general outline of what causes weather where i live, i like knowing the general history of human civilization and how that dictates how our lives today lead, how all of history leads into one another. but. life as a whole i equally adore not having answers, because it’s the process of asking questions that gives me the most joy in life. there are certain things in life i never want to know the answers to. because ive resigned myself to not knowing many things, specifically what it’s like to live as literally anyone but myself. there are many things about myself & about how other people work that i’m constantly learning, i’m young, i’m growing, and i have more questions than answers when it comes to the infinite nuances of human life, and i dont want answers to them. i ask rhetorical questions about what people’s motivations are, what they like about certain things, and i never ask them directly, because i know being who i am i’ll never truly understand how other people are. and so i always leave the rhetorical answers to these rhetorical questions with an “i suppose” or “i guess” or “maybe” or “perhaps” because i dont want to know the answer. i can & enjoy learning all these things about the material world, these concepts about human life as a whole, what drives us to do things, and i make my own conclusions based on that, but i don’t truly desire the knowledge, the understanding, of what goes on in other people’s minds. because.
