the dubious joy of making a breakthru in an engineering problem youve been chewing for like 2 years and probably wont even ever use at this point
#MANUAL KINEMATIC SWAPPABLE 3D PRINTER HEADS BABYYYY#i dont trust magnets i LOVE magnets so so much but i do not think they are good for being the keystone of your printhead not Falling Off#Into Your Part because the acceleration on your toolhead slightly overpowered the magnetic hold#+ you have to account for extra space to create tension on the mount and that like halves a magnets potential power etc etc so i was TRYING#to think of a mechanical way to create that tension that wasnt crazy overcomplicating things AND was easily like garage hackable#Fucking Torsion Springs baby. everything is torsion springs. i fucking love torsion springs. let torsion springs into your heart#anyway also i just do not find value in automatic tool changing on a printer like i GET it but i do not like the compromises.#id rather just have a pause and do a manual swap
