Quick overview
The chosen one of a lot of radiant dawns fans heart, and also mine since she has the same VA as Ash Ketchum, and along with it a quote of ‘I have no choice’ Which I find hilarious due to Ash having no choice on starter, and that she’s the blue mage to tame the thunder mage Reinhardt. Honestly Micaiah is the horse counter f2p players have been waiting for, she can tank Reinhardt pretty easily and most variants of Brave Lyn with the right set up. The only real threat is actually Titania who can live both her offence and defensive sets and strike back hard if running emerald axe, the same can be said of Cecilia too if she’s running triangle adept. Still Michaiah is a solid horse and armour counter if you need one.
Base kit
Thani is a amazing weapon. Effective against armours and cavalry, along with reduced damage from those of those types who wield ranged weapons. Its only 30% on the first hit but its very nice to have. Distant defence provides her a nice buff to her defences while guard prevents her foes from gaining cooldown charges. Basically she’s set up to handle Reinhardts. Drive attack is also a very nice support skill for the team. Finally sacrifice is a combination of ardent sacrifice and harsh command were she can reverse the penalties on the foe but also heal them for as much as she can give. Its good on paper but 35 hp is not that great. Its like a bonus to harsh command and you may just prefer other skills.
Special wise iceberg is a must and will do the most damage thanks to her amazing res stat.
Pros + Cons
+Effective weapon against some of the most common units is amazing
+Amazing base kit means shes basically set up to fight
+Able soak up magic damage with ease.
-Against non horses and armours her offence is a little subpar
-Lowish speed is never nice
-Honestly she struggles with the +10 merges sometimes and Lyn can still be a threat
Partners
Anyone who can help bump her defences high is appreciated, so spur def/res ers are always enjoyed, or drive skills. Red units like Eliwood are also nice for handling those greens she struggles with, even Celcia is a good partner choice and would enjoy hp healing sometimes.
Suggested set(s)
Creature tamer
+Atk/res/hp -def
Thani,Sacrifice/reposition, iceberg/vengance
Slot A = Fury, distant defence, close counter
Slot B = Vantage, guard
Slot C = any c skill
Sacred seals: deflect magic 2 or higher, res+3, distant defence, deflect missile
So  Listen up kiddos this set aims to do a very methodical approach at handling ranged units. The idea is that you use Micaiah to tank Reinhardt or a weaker mage. Fury or distant defence can be used but which you use determines her sacred seal with fury needing deflect magic 2 or distant defence 3 or distant defence wanting itself or res+3 more. After this she should barely live against a max Reinhardt and then be in vantage range. Any ranged horse unit will be decimated by her first strike iceberg she fires off, literally eradicating them. She can solo ranged horse teams like this if she wanted. Guard is a budget option but vantage is much better. Vengeance is a option due to a set 17 damage but iceberg is the best option unless you can’t give her iceberg for now.
So I’ll also mention here that if you run vantage with close counter and live the hit from Reinhardt with deflect magic 3 then she can take on almost all armours and horse provided they have no firesweep or wary fighter weapons. Thats if she has her special ready otherwise some green units can handle her. Still impressive but whether its worth it is up to you.
Thani, I choose you!
+Atk/spd -def
Thani,Sacrifice/reposition, iceberg
Slot A = Fury, Swift sparrow, death/darting blow
Slot B = bow breaker, lance breaker, blue tome breaker, renewal
Slot C = any c skill
Sacred seals: spd+3, atk+3
If you want an all out offence set then this set is better for you, however know Michaih is naturally a defensive unit. Still its possible, basically increase her offence with skills like swift sparrow, but not life and death and it hurts her res too much and it’d be nice to keep 38 in tackt if possible. As for B slots she’s too slow to run desperation so a breaker skill is the best bet or renewal if you really insist on using sacrifice to make so she can heal multiple times.

Pokémon Fankid Week Day 4: Traveling Age
Lyn thinks about her family before her 10th birthday. This image is from an old Picrew I did of Lyn and her brother. His name is Taylor now idk if I stated that anywhere else.
It’s the night before Lyn’s 10th birthday felt endless. She was expected to get her trainers liscense the day after her birthday alongside getting her strater pokemon on that fabled April 1st, as was tradition in Kanto.
Lyn couldn’t sleep, she slipped into her brothers nursery and looked at little chest go up and down slowly with his breathes. Lyn thought about that time Taylor had to spend in the hospital. The first time she saw her baby brother he was relaying on tubes to make sure he pulled through. But he’s fine now, he is home and he is alive.
But Lyn learned about death before he brother was on the brink of it. Her best friend called in distress, they had lost a pokemon and it had traumatized her. Lyn as an outsider looking in felt terrible hearing about it. She had no idea how she’d feel if her own Espurr had died for her. She didn’t want to find out.
Taylor fluttered his little eyes open but did not cry. He might have realized his sisters presence in the room and just wanted to see her. Lyn smiled down at the baby and held her finger out for him. He gripped it tightly with a giggle.
Lyn could wait a couple of years to travel. As a matter of fact she could wait forever. Looking at Taylor and thinking of her friends… she told herself that staying would be worth it. She’d keep everyone safe.

I saw the hair clip and went like… LYN????
Tumblr media
Everyone calling this girl an amourshipping kid, this really has felt like a crazy coincidence.
I am sad to see Ash go but am curious how they will end his story and where Pokémon will go from here.

Scrapes and Skiddo
Tumblr media
Fankid(s): Lyn Ketchum (amourshipping) Word Count: 1471
Lyn get’s to experience riding a Pokémon for the first time. The girl makes a friend that helps her when she fears she might fall.
“I’m sorry mommy!”
A little girl with long black hair in messy curls was tearing up next to her fair-haired mother. The girl’s mother had a bandage around her right elbow and was holding an ice pack up to her head. She just smiled and patted her young daughter's head.
“It’s alright Lyn. This is just a scrape,” Serena cooed lovingly to reassure the young girl. It didn’t do much to help Lyn.
“You must have been quite the bottle of nerves to make Skiddo react like that,” A woman with graying brown hair chimed in as she brought her daughter some tea.
“You’re not helping mother,” Serena said with a sigh as she brought the soothing tea to her lips.
Grandma Grace had been referring to the incident earlier that day. Grace wanted her granddaughter to experience Skiddo riding. Serena was hesitant to let Lyn ride, sure the young girl had been friendly with Rhydon and showed some interest in riding herself. When the Aquacorde Festival came to town and they had a small area for Skiddo petting and riding, this was the perfect opportunity for Lyn. Serena on the other hand was a bit more worried. Sure the Skiddo wasn't as rough as the Rhyhorn but Lyn was small for her age, she was even smaller than Bonnie when she first rode a Skiddo.
At first, Serena’s worries seemed unnecessary as Lyn happily went up to pet the Skiddo. She was jumping up and down with the enthusiasm of a child her age asking to “pretty please” ride the Skidoo. Grace lifted Lyn up onto the Skiddo. The young girl soon became aware of how high she was off the ground. The Skiddo were not that tall but neither was Lyn. She froze a bit as Grace and Serena told her to just be calm and get used to being on the Skiddo before moving. Lyn calmed down a bit, but as soon as the Skiddo began to move was when the real problem began. Lyn clutched as tightly as possible onto the Skiddo horns. The young Skiddo, not used to the extreme anxiety Lyn was exuding soon began to speed up in its own panic until eventually, Lyn began to fall off. Serena dove to catch her daughter which resulted in some scrapes and bruises. Serena was used to scrapes like this when she used to train with Rhyhorn but still the guilt Lyn felt for causing her mother to be hurt was immense.
Despite what happened Lyn didn’t want to give up! She worried giving up would make her grandmother sad and her mother’s injuries would have been earned in vain. That night when everyone fell asleep Lyn snuck back to the fair and to the Skiddo pen. She crawled underneath the fence and went over to a smaller Skiddo than the one before. She shook the Pokemon awake. The little goat pokemon fluttered its eyes open.
“I wanna ride you!” Lyn whispered in excitement. The Skiddo didn’t seem too interested and tried to go back to sleep. Lyn tried to wake it again. The Skiddo next to it nudged its brother awake as well.
“Skid,” The other Skiddo seemed to say “just ride with her, tire her out so we can all go to sleep”
The little Skiddo finally got up and resigned herself to having a late-night ride with a four-year-old. Lyn tried to hop up by herself but that didn’t work. Skiddo laid down so Lyn could climb on, then it stood up. It took a moment for Lyn to get used to the sensation of her feet dangling off the ground again. She then began to move. She didn’t grip the pokemons horns as tight as before, but still, the Skiddo seemed to move hesitantly forward, feeling the young girls worry even in a light grip. The pair soon found out that riding in the dark wouldn’t be that easy.
SNAP
Skiddo stepped on a twig and spooked itself, it freaked out just like before and Lyn began to tighten her grip in hopes of not making a big splat on the solid ground. She stayed on the Skiddo longer than before but soon she found herself slipping again. She closed her eyes and prepared for impact with the dirt road, but that impact never came. Lyn hesitantly opened her eyes and saw her vision clouded in a pink tint as she hovered above the ground! She was so surprised. Soon the pink light began to fade and she was gently placed on the dirt. Lyn looked back and forth for the source of this assistant and she soon came face to face with a small feline pokemon. Its fur was a purpley gray and its eyes were pink and wide with awe… or fear? Really those eyes look like they saw nothing and everything all the time.
The two small beings just stared at each other for a bit, if it would have been a staring contest the unflinching Pokemon would have won.
“Did you help me?” Lyn finally asked.
“Purr!” The pokemon cheerily added.
“Can you help us again? I wanna learn to ride the Skiddo.”
“Espurr!” The pokemon eagerly agreed, Lyn smiled back cheerfully before mounting the Skiddo again.
She fell off over and over again, but with Espurr using its psychic powers to catch her fall she became less scared, and soon she and the Skiddo were in sync. They rode until the sun began to rise. She unexpectedly heard her name being called.
“Lyn! Lyn!” That voice was too deep to be Lyn’s mother or grandmother.
“Pika!” That pokemon cry confirmed who was looking for the girl. Lyn turned towards her voice to see her father coming up to the Skiddo pen where she had been all night. His partner Pikachu was on his shoulder as always. looking equally as concerned as his trainer was.
“Daddy!” Lyn ran up to him. “I thought you were with the Champion.”
“I was, but when I got home late we saw you weren’t in bed…” Ash began to explain as he scooped his daughter out of the pen and into his arms. “I went looking for you. You scared us, you know better than to sneak out like this.”
“I know… but I learned how to ride the Skiddo! It was all thanks to my new friend,” Lyn gestured over to the Pokemon who just gave a blank stare back at Ash.
“Wow! It’s Espurr!” Ash exclaimed with a gleam in his eye. He had tried to lecture Lyn but that was soon taken over by his eternal childlike fascination when seeing Pokemon.
“Every time I began to fall my new friend would catch me. Now I can ride Skiddo!”
“I see…” Ash said in astonishment as his eyes lingered on Espurr. “It has a hard time controlling its Psychic power but still helped you.”
“Is it bad I got help?” Lyn asked.
“Oh no, not at all!” Ash reassured her. “Pikachu~” His pokemon chimed in.
Ash placed his daughter down and bent down to speak with Espurr. “Would you like to keep being friends with Lyn?”
“Espurr!” Her reply was chipper and eager, You could even see some life come to those pink eyes at the idea of being Lyn’s friend. Lyn was just as excited to be Espurr’s friend. Ash smiled as he pulled a Pokeball out of his pocket.
“Pokemon helping us out like that, it reminds me of all the times Pikachu has helped me out,” Ash said fondly as he looked back and forth between his daughter and Espurr. “If you guys can stay friends then maybe Espurr can accompany you on your journey one day…”
With that thought in mind, Ash pressed the Pokeball to Espurr’s forehead. A red light surrounded the pokemon as it shrank and was sucked into the Pokeball. It shook a few times in Ash’s hand. Each shake the ball made left Lyn waiting in more suspense. One shake, two shakes… click!
“Yay! Espurr gets to stay with me and be my friend!” Lyn exclaimed as she grabbed the Pokeball gleefully.
“Don’t get too excited yet, you still have to go back home and apologize toyour mom and grandma Grace,” Ash said as he settled back into dad mode.
“I will tell them sorry…” Lyn said sheepishly as Ash picked the girl back up.
“Goodbye Skiddo! Thanks for riding with me!” Lyn said as she turned around in her father’s arms to wave goodbye to the pokemon. The little goat pokemon cried back sleepily before curling back up in the grass with their siblings and going back to sleep.
As the father and daugtet began their walk home Lyn was intensely staring at the Pokeball in her hand that contained her very first Pokemon friend. One day she’d become a trainer too! And this was just the beginning of their journey together…

Fankid Week: Day 5-AU
Hey I keep forgetting it’s fankid week... even in the middle of fankid week. I have squirrel brain. Instead of a story or art here is another edit of a vocaloid song I’m currently obsessed with.
Tumblr media
Long story short this song is like that game Mafia, but forever. Go watch it.
Azure is Villager One Doe is Villager Two Eliza is Villager Three Dominic is Villager Four Jamie is Villager Five Lyn is the Priest Ryder is the Undertaker Una is the Knight

After some chatting in the fankid discord I decided that Amourshipping would be the best option. Serena fits more of what I wanted for a mom than Misty while Gladion would have been a good dad but messes up the family tree and the Lyn/Felix dynamic.
In the first picrew it’s Serena and baby Lyn. Second picture is Lyn and her little brother Ezra. He would be a whole new fankid taking Ronan’s spot but I might keep Ronan as a Misty/Lana baby idk.

Okay for Fankid Week: Day 4 I wasn’t sure what kind of party we were talking about...
I’d like to title the above picture: “Dominic questioning why the ever-loving fuck did he come to Kanto?”
If we are talking about a Pokkemon party (like a team) than here is a possible league team I had in mind for Lyn. It’s under the cut cause spoilers and also it’s an old sketch my sis @saraorsomeart made for me awhile back. Idk if they wanted it out there or not? Sorry in advance.
Tumblr media
So my team idea was as follows:
Meowstic- Ash caught an Espurr for her visiting when they visited Grandma Grace in Kalos. It’s her first ever pokemon she’s had since she was nine.
Jolitk: Instead of getting a traditional starter from Prof. Gary Oak she instead caught a Joltik chewing on the labs wires. Like father like daughter. This is inspired by how Ash caught Pikachu in the Eletrcic Tale of Pikachu manga.
Gyrados: She fished up a shit ton of magikarp but only one evoled. It’s actually afraid of confrontation so not as powerful in battle as you might think.
Tangrowth: I just really like this pokemon and think it’s underused. It also helps balance Lyn’s team type wise.
Tyranitar: This is her Charizard equivalent. She caught it as a little Larvitar and once it reached it’s final evolution she had a harder time getting it to obey. Mastering Mega Evolution together has brought them closer.
Tarous: One of Ash’s many Tarous. She was like “pretty please can I have one? specifially the one that has liked me since I was a little girl?” and Ash was liked “Yeah!!!”
This team might change in the future. (except for Meowstic, Joltik and Tyrantiar. They stay for sure. Joltik and Tyranitar have been on the team since I first made Lyn) Even if it does change it sure is fun doing team composition!
