Been thinking about Jigmalta again. . . . been thinking about what Jigen does AFTER gravestone
The idea of Jigen not being completely satisfied with a “job well done” after taking out Yael and the East Doroa government.
Once he finds out/realized her manager was in on it it was one last loose end to tie up
The idea of Jigen tracking down Malta’s manager when he learns he too had a hand in her death which is why he had kicked him out of the concert
Jigen was never one for revenge, it drives men mad. But of course Jigen is already mad about all this. He took care of Yael, and the real cause and culprit of Malta's death, being her own country, was finally brought to the public
but that doesn't mean he's done yet.
Not quiet yet anyways
probably corners the guy in his swaggy hotel
Many people in Malta’s circle of acquaintances were also accused of potentially selling her out to the government with many remaining under scrutiny even long after the fact,
maybe it doesn't surprise him when the manager squeals so easily like the spineless fool he was
maybe he pisses Jigen off stating the bitch got what was coming to her anyways. thinking she could possibly promote peace between two countries that have been fighting for so long already.
Or About how she was willing to throw away her career for such a miserable cause about how he made her the star she was and without him she'd still be singing in slums in that wartorn hellhole she came from
Maybe the last comment pisses Jigen off so badly that he actually contemplates killing the bastard then and there
but he cant yet. he cant do that just yet
instead he forces the man to write down everything, absolutely everything he had to do with her death
when he's finally finished. . .well
no one knows what happened afterward.
Her manager is later found dead in what appeared to be an apparent suicide. In a letter left behind, he implicates his hand in Malta’s death and was believed by official's to have killed himself either in guilt or as a way to not risk jail time.
But we all know what happened, we all know the only man trained so excellent that he could easily have made it look like a suicide
in the end does it matter
it's over now Maybe before he leaves, Jigen notices the radio is on
Their still playing Malta's songs on the radio as a memorial to her and for a moment a flash of anger rolls over him at the mere thought that even after having her killed the bastard still had the gall to listen to her songs as if he didn't help in her assassination.
But then once he listens. . .everything is suddenly calm and serene and for a moment Jigen is happy once again.
Maybe he takes a moment to listen, to reminisce. Maybe when it's time for him to go he raises his hand to turn the radio off before he leaves. Maybe he stops himself before he can. Maybe instead before he leaves he looks at the radio one last time with that old familiar soft sad look in his eye's as he adjusts his hat on his head.
"It's over now songbird, so you just keep on singing. . .there's no one left to stop you"

Daisuke Jigen’s Gravestone by Roy Macintosh
Life can be bound in a bullet, so why take the chance? Let’s go for it.
In honor of Lupin the 3rd earning a 5th series, coming this fall (damn!), might as well review the Lupin special that pays homage to this new series for the future. In addition, Jigen’s Gravestone celebrates the new style of the Woman called Fujiko Mine, the Lupin 3rd spin off. It provides a hard-boiled, funky, and sexy smooth credit to the Lupin Universe that even outdoes the first series as a whole. But, what’s the deal?
“Ah, James Bond Lupin is best Lupin.”
STORY TIME! Taking place before the Lupin gang was properly formed and before things were less serious, Lupin and Jigen partner up to steal a sapphire from the security strict city of West Dorea, Italy. However, complications arise when the Dorean government know their every move and are almost one step ahead. Remember, we’re talking Lupin here. Also, Jigen is being hunted down by Jael Okuzaki, a superior stone-faced gunman known for building gravestones for his victims, knowing he’ll always get the job done. And while the duo are fighting off Jael, Fujiko infiltrates a secret club to locate a file that could mean the end of West (and East) Dorea. Getting back to the men’s story, we see Jael his gotten the best of our heroes, beating Jigen at quickdraw and eventually putting a headshot to our legendary marksman.
“This... a moment of a vengeful mind.”
Now alone against a true man of terror, can Lupin take on Jael as vengance for his best known friend? Will Fujiko get what she wants? Or has the cavalry finally taken down the thieves for good?
“This will be a day long remembered.”
Ironically, this all took place in two days. For a Lupin the 3rd way different from what we usually had, this is one- no, this is the most hardcore special the series ever produced. Not only does this have blood and gore, but has a sexual scene so unsettling, Mortal Kombat couldn’t take this idea for their own. Going back to Fujiko’s subplot, I’ll explain this instead of trying to haunt you. *ahem* You see, while snooping around the club, the leader captures Fujiko, strips her fully naked, and puts her in a glass cage with oil spreading the floor. Then a robot, built by Jael, who is also a techical wiz, scales down and enters the cage. OK, here’s where things start to get messed up. Apparently, the robot has a giant mechanical drill for a dick and is about to literally drill Fujiko to death while grown men watch for amusement. OK, I understand this wasn’t going through, and that this here is really for adults only, but I don’t people can walk by knowing that robot rape was about to commence. The rest of the special is great, top-notch, and edgy to continue watching, but I recommend covering your eyes during that scene. Trust me, that ain’t for all ages.
“Oh good, Jigen’s gonna put that nightmare out of my misery.”
Excluding the scene that gave my mind the clap, this is an incredible looking movie. The details, esp. in the gunwork, were a great and epic touch to throw some dynamic slow-mo. And the artwork; certainly presents a dark, frank miller-esque style of art with a psychedelic style of color; a nice balance cartoon and dramatic realism; of light and darkness. Not only that, but the animation in some scenes feel more cinematic and out of sight. It’s a conjugate fusion of 2D and 3D animation. It makes the scenes more alive.
“Adobe Flash: now 20% inferior.”
For Lupin the 3rd, it’s been a long while since us fans have received something that closely resembles the original manga. It’s serious on a criminal thriller, but can be comical as well to lighten a mood for us to breathe. I say Daisuke Jigen’s Gravestone is a must see for those die-hard Lupin fans and for those who want a chilling suspense anime. Plus it’s only an hour long, and that’ll be time well spent if not Kitchen Nightmares.
Sorry, I had to. As for this new blue jacket series, I’m already hyped for it. New look, new place, same good ol’ thief.
So now, if ya got any questions, ask away. I’m Roy Macintosh, love and peace, and a damn good smoke.
Good night, everybody.
Special thanks to lupincentral for their collected work. It was used only for good commentary and selected jokes.

Personal Gravestone HC But I personally believe Malta's Manager Ya know this fucker
Had something to do with her death.
Lemme explain. We all know that by technicality sakes, that Malta's death probably wouldn't have happened if her manager hadn't been such a dick to Jigen. Had Jigen been allowed to stay close there is an extreme chance that Malta would've survived the assassination attempt at her concert
But something about what The Manager said struck me as strange
While he's telling Jigen to take a hike, he questioned the fact of Jigen being her bodyguard, as if he didn't know, he even talked about Jigen as if he didn't even know who he was. But here's the thing, he's her MANAGER how did you NOT know the tall guy waltzing around with her was a BODYGUARD who she PAID FOR
So here's my little HC
Despite how he reacted towards Jigen, I honestly think the manager actually knew who Jigen was.
He knew he was Malta's Bodyguard. You don't see a guy waltzing around with the biggest star to date, and not think one of two things but don't question either until it's too late.
Like how do you not know
for example look at this photo
I know Yael AND the East Doroa Government had camera's all over the place and that's how they probably got the photo, BUT THAT ALSO MEANS JIGEN AND MALTA WERE WALKING IN PUBLIC TOGETHER. PEOPLE SAW THEM TOGETHER
the manager didn't?
Even STILL EVEN IF the manager did not know who Jigen was, which i think is complete bullshit, his behavior doesn't settle right with me, especially considering the whole fact that even WITH her trying to promote peace, even MALTA would have to have known the danger she was in, why else would she have hired a body guard in the first place?
And if she's on this BIG cross country tour, visiting "hostile countries" at war with her own home, her manager had GOT to have known that Jigen was her bodyguard and the reasons as to WHY she would have hired him in the first place. Even if her manager didn't like the fact of Jigen being there, for the sake of the woman MAKING HIM MONEY, during one of the BIGGEST events on her peace tour especially in a country that was considered enemies with her HOME country, you'd think he'd want her safe regardless. There was NO REASON why he would suddenly kick Jigen out.
Like deep down WOULD Jigen have been able to do something about it maybe I think yes.
The only reason he didn't notice where Yael was because he was above him in the booth Jigen had to look up to notice him
but HAD Jigen been ON THAT STAGE with her singing
HE DEFINITELY would have noticed before ANYONE that someone was up there.
Jigen is well trained to notice those little things, he would not have let that slip.
Her Manager was totally in on her hit I REFUSE to believe he had no part in her hit, it was too much of a coincidence for her manager to shoo Jigen away when he did. And what makes this all the more sad is remember what Malta said to Jigen in both dub and sub
"My enemy is not only this nation. It’s not as if this country is the only enemy"
She knew. . . even in the beginning she knew. And it makes it all the more sad even knowing that East Doroa, her own home was involved with her murder. And was willing to let West Doroa take the fall for it in order to push for the wars continuance.
But the government being on the hit is one thing her own manager selling her out? Somehow it puts a whole new perspective and makes her tragic death that more twisted. . .
No wonder Jigen wanted to settle the score

Malta and Jigen were the same in many ways
old souls in young bodies however there was a difference between them
Where Malta embraced her age and all that came with it Jigen tried to hide it to mask it. Both Jigen and Malta got gray hairs early on in life, but while Jigen tries to cover them up and dye them, Malta embraced them.
Despite that Malta liked to poke fun at his age, taking jabs by referring to him as a old softie. Old soul, old softie…looks and acts like some old grizzled lone wolf, she often called him a old hound when she played with the grey hairs in his beard, and he often grumbled how he was not old, but deep down he was immensely pleased by her compliment's, especially when she teased that he's already turning into a fine silver fox at such a young age
Following their time together, Lupin actually began to notice that ever since the two of them (Malta and Jigen) started dating, Jigen didn't cover up his grays anymore and Lupin often grumped about it because oh but when I tell you they make you look nice ya don’t believe me. . . But when SHE does it
Jigen just laughed because it was almost comical to see Lupin moping around like that, now he knew how Jigen feels when he brings a new girl home. He always claimed that, with Lu anyways, well part of it was to keep their ability to disguise and blend in. He doesn't mind Lupin acting jealous. In fact, it's almost kinda fun when he gets extra sweet on him for a little bit, being all clingy and missing him and a just a little possessive
If anything its fun for Jigen to watch Lupin be in his shoes for a moment or two
. . . Jigen started to once again cover up his grays again after Malta's passing shortly afterwards
Following Jigen's killing of Malta's manager upon learning of his hand in her death. . .Lupin began to notice that he couldn't see any of the grays in his beard or his hair one day and as it turns out Jigen started dying his hair once again not long after she passed away.
Lupin didn't question him about it or anything He wont Jigen was grieving, it was best to leave him be. . . .

Jigen and Malta met each other during the first half of Malta’s two year long peace tour.
Having been working previously as a bodyguard for a rich aristocrat who often frequented her show’s, Jigen and Malta had run into each other after having been introduced by said aristocrat. The two surprisingly became friends in a way quite quickly, with both seeing eye-to-eye with each other’s world views and coming to understand each other's points of view on it.
In many ways Jigen had also found himself drawn to Malta’s very relaxed and graceful nature, and Malta in turn found him to be a quiet and mysterious character, but found it intriguing nonetheless. Following their first introduction, Malta and Jigen found themselves quite relaxed in each other's company and Malta found herself comfortable enough to ask him for a favor; to investigate the sender of numerous death threats hidden in bouquets of flowers allegedly addressed by admirers.
After Jigen effectively handled the case, Malta, impressed by his skills, personally hired him as her bodyguard shortly after the beginning of her Peace tour, and Jigen began touring with her shortly afterward. The following months the singer soon entered a passionate yet private affair with the Gunman that lasted all the way up until her death at The West Doroa International Concert Hall about a year later.
Before her death, the relationship between Malta and Jigen was one of immense stability despite both of their hectic and sometimes life threatening careers. Following the disastrous ending to his “friendship” with Cicciolina, Jigen had grown increasingly apprehensive about entering a relationship with a woman, however Malta was incredibly patient and was one of the few, besides Lupin of course, to show him people could be selfless, caring without motive other than the good for the people they cared about.
Following her death, Jigen never truly moved on from it. It still stung very much even years later. However, despite that he doesn't talk about her much. Preferring instead to keep whatever memories he has left of her private and close-kept. Just little memories he can keep that he doesn't have to share.
Just like how their relationship was kept secret. . .all to themselves. . nobody else. . .
